Herobrine stared at him in shock and indignation when he heard that.

How could he start with this now?!

The others also gasped in alarm at his words and retreated from him and Nuka, which only made Herobrine angrier.

But what did he expect?

Of course, they would react so short-sighted.

"What?!" Roxana asked a moment later, appalled, before turning to Herobrine and looking at him in disbelief. "Why didn't you say anything?"

Herobrine glared at her grimly.

But before he could respond, Steve began speaking again.

"Yeah, why didn't you say anything, Herobrine?!" he asked with mock reproach in his voice.

"And don't you dare tell me you didn't know!" he continued with an angry tone a second later. "You know Null and Nuka better than anyone else here! You must have noticed it!"

Herobrine glared at him angrily when he heard this.

Of course, he was the one who had to antagonize him again.

Why couldn't they just discuss all this later?

Didn't they have bigger concerns now?

"Come on, spill it!" Steve continued with a sharp voice. "What did you hope for? Did you hope that Null would spare your life if you brought him Nuka and showed him how close their powers are? Or did you not say anything because he's a spy for Null?"

"Shut up!" Herobrine snapped angrily at that moment. "How can you say something like that?! How can you even suggest something like that after he just saved your life?!"

He sighed angryliy.

"I didn't say anything because I knew how you would react!" he continued with an annoyed voice a moment later. "Because I knew that you would prejudge Nuka and treat him differently if you found out he has the same powers as Null!"

"And as it looks, I was right," he added with a grim look, causing the others to look guilty, except for Steve, who just snorted contemptuously.

But before he could say anything, Roxana chimed in.

"But how can that be?" she asked with a puzzled look at Nuka. "How... how can he have his powers?"

"I... don't know," Herobrine admitted after a short pause, which made Steve snort again.

"He's lying," he claimed coldly, which finally pushed Herobrine over the edge.

"That's not true!" he snapped a second later in Steve's direction before turning back to Roxana. "I really don't know!"

"And he knows just as little," he added with a brief glance at Nuka. "He must have some connection to Null, but in what form I cannot say..."

"But he must have inherited them, right?" Roxana asked softly, to which Herobrine just shrugged.

"Well, I can't imagine any other way he could have gotten them," he replied. "But his powers are clearly weaker than Null's, and he doesn't seem to have the shapeshifting ability at all, so I don't know how closely related he is."

"But whatever he is," he added with a weary voice. "He's definitely not on Null's side! Null doesn't know anything about him!"

"How do you know that?" Steve asked disapprovingly. "Did you ask Null about it when you were still allies?"

"No, I didn't!" Herobrine snapped sharply. "Because... because I was afraid he would do something to the boy!"

Maybe I should have asked... he added thoughtfully.

But before he could dwell on it further, Roxana started talking again.

"Well, you can discuss that later," she quickly explained. "Right now, Nuka needs help, as soon as possible."

Herobrine nodded in agreement when he heard this, relieved that at least someone here understood the urgency of the situation!

"Yeah, you're right," he replied, still annoyed. "We've already wasted more than enough time!"

It felt like an eternity to Herobrine as they walked through caves, tunnels, and passages, always searching for lava lakes, but so far, they strangely hadn't been able to find one.

"I don't understand this," Roxana murmured softly as she walked beside him and cast a concerned look at Aurora, who was a few steps before them with Steve. "We should have found a lava lake by now."

"Well, maybe Null made them cease to exist with his update," Jason grimly replied, walking right behind Aurora and Steve, whereupon Herobrine just glared at him.

He had offered to carry Nuka on this back, and although Herobrine was not at all pleased with it, he had to admit that he didn't have the strength to carry the boy himself.

But he still didn't like it, especially if he really was the one who shot Nuka down back then.

Behind them, Einshine was slowly trudging along, seeming quite sullen, but Herobrine paid no attention to him.

Let him be sulky! He thought grimly He had been nothing but a burden from the beginning!

"Uh, guys, we have a little problem," Herobrine heard Aurora say with a worried tone at that moment.

She had suddenly stopped and was staring at her compass with a puzzled expression.

"What's wrong?" Jason asked while joining them and also looking at the compass.

"Well," Aurora stammered uncertainly as she scratched her head, still gazing at the compass with a perplexed look, " the world stops at level 0, right?"

"Yeah," Steve answered wearily, who had now sat down and seemed as relieved as Herobrine about the short rest. "Why do you ask?"

"Well," Aurora continued, embarrassed, "because the compass tells me that this…" with those words, she turned to Steve and pointed at the ground, "is level 0. But I can't see any bedrock anywhere, and over there," she continued, pointing to a cave entrance behind her, "it goes even further down..."

Herobrine looked surprised when he heard this and Steve's head shot up with alarm at her words.

"What?!" he asked in shock before standing up and joining Aurora and Jason, while Roxana watched all of this with a bewildered gaze.

"But that can't be!" she exclaimed at last, to which Aurora helplessly shrugged.

"I know," she replied, despairing. "But the compass says otherwise.."

"Maybe its broken," Jason suggested while Steve, looking over the compass, seemed thoughtful.

Yet, he shook his head at Jason's words.

"No, I don't think so," he replied, turning away from the compass and peering with a grim expression at the cave entrance that descended even further. "I'm afraid it has something to do with the new update."

"Really?!" Jason asked, surprised. "How do you know?"

"Well, think about it," he responded with a quick glance at Jason. "We've been traveling for hours. Normally, we should have stumbled upon diamonds or at least gold or redstone by now. Not to mention the lava lakes, which are usually found at these levels. But we haven't found anything.

He sighed.

,,At this point, it would only make sense that they are now deeper, since the world is deeper now too."

"Wait, so does that mean we have to go even more down?!" Roxana asked, alarmed, to which Steve nodded seriously.

"I'm afraid so," he replied. "I don't like it either, but it seems to be our only option if we want to find a lava pool in time..."

"Well, we could still dig up and search for a lava pool up there," Roxana suggested, but Aurora shook her head.

"Too dangerous," she replied. "We don't know where we'd come out above ground. Plus, the pickaxe you just gave me is almost broken. We'll never get up with that."

"Unless you have another one," she added, looking at Roxana with a questioning gaze, but Roxana just shook her head.

"No, unfortunately not," she replied dejectedly. "Neither a pickaxe nor the materials for it..."

"It doesn't make sense anyway," Steve chimed in. "Above, Null has a much better chance of finding us or the Nether portal, and I'd like to prevent that."

"Alright," Roxana agreed with a resigned sigh. "So, down it is..."

The next half hour was relatively uneventful.

The few mobs that crossed their path were swiftly dispatched by Jason and Aurora, while the rest continued through the cave, attentively examining their surroundings.

They had quickly noticed new dark blocks with a rough surface that had now replaced the more typical stone and now filled the walls and ceilings completely.

Even the ores Steve had been missing above ground, were found down here, which confirmed his theory, even though they still hadn't found a lava lake.

I hope we find one soon, Herobrine thought grimly, while slowly following Roxana around a corner.

With every other step, he reached for his now painfully throbbing wound. I don't think I will be able to go on for a long time anymore...

"Guys, look at this!" Herobrine heard Aurora exclaim in that moment, with an uncertain voice at that moment.

He raised his head and froze when he spotted a row of new blocks before her, which he had never seen before.

"What is this?" Roxana asked next to him, puzzled, as Steve approached Aurora and scrutinized the blocks with a suspicious look.

These blocks were much darker than the others, but they had some visible dots and emitted a faint glow, turning the cave into a starry night sky from the point where they were placed.

He also noticed that some of the other blocks near these glowing ones were overgrown with vines that glow and looked like them.

But before he could ponder about that further, Steve knelt down and gently ran a hand over one of these blocks.

"I think they're safe," he finally said after a tense moment. "They feel somewhat... strange, and they give a bit in when touched, but I think it won't be a problem to walk on them."

"Wait, you want to keep going?!" Aurora asked him, aghast, and Steve just shrugged.

"What else should we do?" he replied grimly. "Turn back?!"

With these words, he turned away and walked into the darkness without hesitation, forcing the rest of the group to follow him.

However, they didn't get far.

Just a few steps further, there was a sudden loud, strange noise that made them all jump and look around, alarmed!

"What was that?!" Jason whispered in shock, and the sound repeated, making the group tense up again!

But before any of them could panic and flee, Roxana yelled loudly, "There!" and pointed her finger at a block a few blocks above them.

It looked very similar to all the others but was only half as high and had four strange, vine-like tendrils growing out of it that gently swayed and looked quite gross in Herobrine's eyes.

At her words, the block in question lit up again and made that strange sound, causing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief and relax, realizing that it posed no threat, before they continued on their way.

What a strange biome, Herobrine thought as he looked around. I wonder why Null placed it only here in the world. I mean, did he even think about it? What happens to the world when you do an update without forethought and planning?

"Guys, look at this!" Herobrine heard Aurora shout at that moment, and the others quickly gathered around her, seeing the enormous cave opening up before them.

But that wasn't all!

They were huge buildings that rose before them!

Mighty, countless, decaying buildings, dimly lit by blue lanterns, that seem to stretch all the way to the horizon and possibly even further.

It was all quite impressive, but Herobrine shuddered as he examined the buildings further.

He didn't know what this huge stucture was, but he had an uneasy feeling about this place.

"Incredible..." Roxana whispered at last, and the others looked impressed and nervous as well as they turned to Steve, who she look at with uncertain expressions. "Do you have any idea what this is?"

But he just shook his head.

"No," he replied softly, still looking at the crumbling buildings. "But whatever it is, I don't think we should go in there."

"Really?" Jason asked, surprised. "But maybe we could find some treasures in there."

"Maybe," Steve replied grimly. "But such places usually have traps, and I don't want to risk my life for a few items when we can equip ourselves later in a safe place."

"That's true," Roxana agreed. "Let's try to go around it and be as quiet as possible. I don't want anyone to notice us."

With these words, she turned away and began to walk along the edge of the structure, with the rest of the group following.

As they went, Herobrine noticed that this structure was much larger than any other structures they could find in the world.

It seemed to have been a city at some point, but it was hard to tell because the buildings were severely dilapidated.

On the way, they could occasionally see some chests in the distance, illuminated by candles but no one dared to go there and open them.

I wonder what the purpose of this place was Herobrine thought, looking at a massive structure in the center of the city that stood out from all the other buildings and looked similar to a portal. Did Null create this on purpose?

At that moment, he heard a loud cheer from Aurora, and relief flooded him when he saw a massive lava lake next to the city, gently simmering away.

Finally, we found one, he thought, picking up his pace and joyfully heading towards the lava.

However, his joy vanished quickly when, out of nowhere, a terrible scream froze his blood!

Then the world around him turned dark, and a loud heartbeat echoed in his ears!

The others seemed to have experienced the same thing because when the darkness lifted, they all stood there, shocked and looked around them with pale faces!

"What... what was that?" Roxana finally asked with a trembling voice, whereupon the scream could he heard again, followed by renewed darkness and the heartbeat, which was now much closer It heightened the panic in Herobrine and the others even more!

"I don't know," Steve replied, alarmed, just after the darkness lifted again. "But whatever it is, we should..."

He couldn't finish his sentence.

At that moment, another scream echoed, and it went dark once more, before suddenly, in their midst, the ground cracked open, and a terrible monster emerged!
