Sabaku no Kitsune: Chapter 13
In Suna: With Temari and Obito
Temari was pacing around inside the Uchiha house hold with Obito; Sango, Gaara and Kankuro were looking on at the 2 uneasy ninjas paced around aimlessly.
"Temari, calm down" Kakuro said trying to calm his sister down "Naruto and Kurumi have only been gone for a day" he said; this stopped both Temari and Obito who looked at him with wide eyes.
"I will not calm down Kankuro" Temari said "Naruto hasn't been outside the village without either me, you or Gaara; he's still in recovery and who knows what could happen" she said. "We went out on a simple humanitarian mission and ended up causing an international incident and almost got killed twice" Temari said.
"And Kurumi is still too inexperienced to be going out on a C-rank mission" Obito said "besides she's alone with a boy; I mean I trust Naruto but… you know… hormones and stuff" Obito said. Temari looked at him with her hands on her hips.
"Naruto wouldn't do anything like that" Temari said; Temari began to pace around again "god I hope they are both ok" she said.
In Kusa: With Naruto and Kurumi
Naruto knocked on a door and took a step back next to Kurumi; the door opened up slowly and a old lady in her 90's appeared in the door frame.
"Hello children how may I help you" the old lady said walking out wobbling on her cane.
Kurumi stepped forward and brought out the letter "Hello misses we are from Suna; we came to deliver this here letter" Kurumi said; the old lady took the letter with her old shaky hand and a smile on her face.
"Oh; a letter from my baby boy" The old lady said "I hope there are more pictures of my grandbabies in this" she said; Kurumi and Naruto smiled at how wholesome the whole interaction was. "Would you 2 like to come in; I have fresh cookies just out of the oven" the old lady said; both Naruto and Kurumi smiled at this.
"We'd love too" They both said; the old lady invited both inside.
3 hours later: Kusa woods
"Man, those were some good cookies" Naruto said rubbing his stomach "Such a nice old granny" he said and Kurumi nodded. Naruto and Kurumi stayed for a little while at the old lady's house and were now walking in the woods.
"I'm glad she gave us extra's" Kurumi said "you know I- "Kurumi began until she heard a noise off to her left. "Hide now" she whispered to Naruto who nodded.
Both Naruto and Kurumi both jumped into the trees and hid their presence; both waited for a few seconds until they saw what made the noise.
A girl with red hair and glasses ran out from the trees surprising both Naruto and Kurumi; Naruto saw she was wearing a Kusa headband and wondered why she was running.
"Get your ass back her Karin" came a man's voice; 2 more Kusa ninja ran out from the same direction.
"Fuck you; I'm not going back" the girl now known as Karin shouted back; one of the ninjas took out a kunai with a explosive tag attached and threw it near Karin. The explosion threw Karin off her feet as she fell to the ground; Karin tried to get up but was held down by one of the ninjas "let me go" Karin shouted as she struggled to break free.
"Shut it bitch" one of the ninjas said as he punched her in the face breaking her nose "when he gets back to Kusa your ass is going to- "he began until he began to gargle. The ninja holding Karin down looked at his comrade and saw a shuriken sticking out of his windpipe.
"Hey asshole" came a voice of a girl; the man looked forward and saw a girl with black hair in front of him.
Kurumi reached into her pocket and produced a butterfly knife and opened it in a flip; Kurumi swiftly cut the mans throat spilling his blood all over Karin.
The man collapsed on Karin who spat out blood that got into her mouth; Karin pushed the body off her and stood up in a panic. "Who are you" Karin asked Kurumi; Kurumi smiled making Karin uneasy.
"I'm Kurumi" Kurumi said introducing herself "and that guy over there is my partner and chunin leader Menma" she said. Naruto jumped down from the tree and landed next to Kurumi.
"Sup'" Naruto said; Karin was a little frightened by Naruto's mask but felt his chakra sensing no malice "what's your name" he asked.
"I'm Karin" Karin said "look thanks for the help but you better get moving; you just killed 2 Kusa ninja" she said.
"Why were they after you" Naruto asked.
"I'm running away" Karin said; Karin then lifted up her sleeve showing several bite marks "I'm from a extinct clan called the Uzumaki clan; I have a special ability, if someone bites me my chakra heals them but at my expense" she said shocking both Naruto and Kurumi. "That's how my mom died and I refuse to let it happen to me" she said.
'She's a Uzumaki; like me' Naruto thought; Naruto proceeded to take off his mask shocking Kurumi as Naruto never does that in public or around strangers "my name is not Menma; my real name is Naruto Uzumaki, son of Kushina Uzumaki" he said.
Karin hearing this went wide eyed; she used her sensor ability on Naruto to see if he was lying. After a few seconds she canceled it seeing he was telling the truth "Holy crap" Karin said with a smile.
"I think you should come with us Karin" Naruto said making Karin look at her "at the very least stay with us until we reach the border with wind country; then you can go your own way" he said. "I know what it's like to be abused and betrayed by your own village; the least I can do is help you" Naruto said; Karin looked at him and took a moment to think.
'I just met them; how could I trust them' Karin thought 'well not like I have a lot of options' she thought. "Ok I'll stay with you" Karin said "but how am I supposed to go with you; I stick out like a sore thumb" she said grabbing her red hair.
Naruto tossed her his mask "this has a seal that changes you hair color and your voice" Naruto said.
Kurumi took out a scroll from her pouch "I have some extra cloths in here; you seem to be my size" she said.
Karin took the scroll and smiled "thanks; I'm going to go change" Karin said going behind a tree; Karin then took off her Kusa head band and threw it on the ground 'won't be needing that anymore' she thought.
"Let's burn the bodies" Naruto said grabbing the ninjas and putting them side by side "torch them" Naruto said and Kurumi nodded.
Kurumi went through hand signs 'Fire Style: Fire ball Jutsu'; Kurumi fired a small fire ball at the 2 bodies setting them on fire. As she did so Karin walked out with her disguise on; she wore one of Kurumi's outfits consisting of blue sandals, tan shorts and a black tank top with fishnet armor underneath.
Karin put on Naruto's mask turning her hair brown and disguising her voice "ok done" Karin said walking up; Karin threw her old cloths onto the fire "ready to go when you 2 are" Karin said.
Naruto looked at Kurumi "take off your headband; no need to draw anymore suspension to ourselves" he said and Kurumi nodded; Naruto and Kurumi both pocketed their headbands and looked at Karin "let's go" he said.
Naruto, Kurumi and Karin left the area leaving only 2 charred bodies behind.
At Dusk
Naruto wearing an orange Keffiyeh scarf, Kurumi and a disguised Karin were walking down the road; the sun was setting and all 3 were getting tired.
"Maybe we should find a place to rest for the night" Naruto said and both girls nodded.
"There is a small town up ahead" Karin said "there will probably be a inn we can stay out" she said. Walking for another hour Naruto, Kurumi and Karin came across a small inn on the side of the road and let out a sigh of relief.
"Ok cool let's go in" Naruto said; Naruto, Kurumi and Karin walked in and went up to the counter where a woman in her early 40's waited with a smile. She was a pretty woman with light brown hair that was starting to grey and she wore a simple red kimono; "1 room for 3 please" Naruto said.
"Of course, sir; my name is Akeno and I'll be happy to help you" the woman said sweetly "so will you be sharing a single bed with your girlfriends or will you be sleeping separate" she asked.
Naruto blushed behind his disguise and began to wave his arms "t-they are not my girlfriends" Naruto stammered out; Karin and Kurumi both began to giggle.
"What's wrong Menma; we not good lookin' enough for you" Kurumi said mockingly as Karin began laughing behind her mask.
"It's not that" Naruto said before he began poking his fingers and blushing "it's… just… me and Temari…" he began until the woman behind the counter spoke up.
"We're just playing with you; sweetie" the woman said before taking out 3 keys "you will be in room 5; you'll have 2 beds" she said. Naruto swiped up a key and began to walk to the room.
"You 3 are jerks" Naruto said as he walked away; all 3 women laughed.
"Is he always so flustered" Akeno asked Kurumi.
"Oh, he's just a big ol' ball of nerves" Kurumi said taking her key and handing the other to Karin "come on let's go" she said and Karin nodded.
"My niece Asuka will be by in a little while with some dinner; hope you like Miso ramen" Akeno said and Kurumi nodded.
"Sounds great" Karin said behind her mask; both her and Kurumi walked to their room ready to end the night.
In the room an hour later
Naruto was sitting on his bed reading his manga when both Kurumi and Karin exited the bath; both were not in their pajamas as they sealed up their cloths.
"Wow so the carpet really does match the drapes" Kurumi said and Karin slapped her on the arm.
"Hey jerk there's a boy right there" Karin said pointing to Naruto; Naruto completely distracted by his manga.
'Man Misa Amane; is such a babe' Naruto thought reading Death Note 'blonde goth chicks are so hot' he thought with a chuckle.
Karin sweat dropped at how distracted he was 'ok never mind' she thought; just then there was a knock at the door.
"Oh, must be our ramen" Kurumi said snapping Naruto to attention.
"Ramen really" Naruto said excitedly and Kurumi nodded.
"Yep, hold your horses" she said walking over and opening the door and seeing a little girl that was about 8 or 9 years old "hey there sweetie are you- "she began until the little girl dropped the food to the ground gaining everyone's attention. "Hey what's wrong "she began until she saw the look on the little girls' face; a face of rage and unbridled hatred.
Flashback: 5 minutes prior
Asuka was taking the food to the room as instructed by her aunt; it has been over 4 months since she arrived to Kusa. After the death of her father and her escape from the 2 men who killed him, she was sent to Kusa to live her aunt Akeno.
She's been trying to get over it but every time she goes to bed the memories of the 2 men flash through her mind; Asuka reached the room she was to deliver the food to but stopped for a second to fix her butterfly hair clip before knocking on the door.
"Yep, hold your horses" came a girl's voice from the other side of the door; as soon the door opened a black haired teenage girl appeared "hey there sweetie are you- "she began until Asuka turned her head slightly and saw someone sitting on the bed. Almost instantly she recognized him; blonde hair, blue eyes, whisker like tattoos on his face. No doubt he was the one who killed her father; Asuka dropped the food to the ground in shock as she began to shake "hey what's wrong" the black-haired girl asked.
Naruto looking at the little girl with the butterfly hair clip felt his heart sank 'what the hell isn't she- 'he began to thing until suddenly he had to dodge a shuriken from the little girl.
"You; I'll kill you" Asuka shouted as she ran forward; she was stopped when Kurumi grabbed her by the collar.
"Stop right there" Kurumi shouted "what- "Kurumi began but stopped when Asuka twisted her arm and put her in a joint lock; Asuka proceeded to kick her in the face breaking her nose before rolling her onto the ground still holding her arm. Asuka twisted Kurumi's arm resulting in a pop and Kurumi screaming as her arm was twisted out of socket.
"Kurumi" Karin shouted as she ran forward and tried to kick the girl in the head; Asuka blocked the kick and proceeded to grab her leg and throw her into a night stand shattering it.
Asuka turned to Naruto with a rage filled look "You killed my daddy; do you think I could forget you" she shouted.
"Please listen" Naruto said trying to reason "I didn't want to- "he began until the girl began to throw more shuriken at him.
"You ruined my life" Asuka shouted; Naruto dodged the shuriken and reached down to grab his fan but felt nothing.
'Crap I sealed up my gear' Naruto thought 'Kurumi's knife' he thought; Naruto ran over to Kurumi's stuff and reached into her pant pocket and retrieved her butterfly knife and opened it.
Asuka reached up her Kimono sleeve and took out a tanto she had hidden and charged at Naruto; Akeno tried to stab Naruto but Naruto parried the blade off to the side. Naruto was then greeted by a kick to the side of the head by Asuka; Asuka tried to follow up with another strike but Naruto retaliated first by slugging her across the face sending her to the ground.
Naruto got on top of her and threw away her tanto "ok you little brat" Naruto said grabbing her arms "we'll- "he began until a voiced chimed up.
"What on god's green earth is going on here" Akeno said; Naruto looked at her wondering what to say but before he could say anything Asuka spoke up.
"Auntie; it's him, he killed daddy" Asuka shouted; Akeno paled as she looked at Naruto who gulped.
"I didn't want to" Naruto said; Akeno reached into her sleeve and took out a tanto and rushed over to stab Naruto.
"You killed my little Renji" Akeno shouted; Naruto dodged the stab by leaning back. This was a mistake as when he did, he let go Asuka's hands here free; Asuka turned over and proceeded to punch Naruto in the nuts. Naruto grabbed his throbbing manhood leaving his face open; Asuka kicked him in the face knocking him off.
Naruto fell on his back grabbing his broken nose; Naruto then had to defend himself once more as Akeno got back on him and began to drive down her tanto. Naruto grabbed her hand holding the tanto and tried to push back; Naruto was surprised as the woman was stronger than he expected.
The tanto began getting closer to Naruto's chest; Naruto seeing the tanto approach shifted it to the right so it doesn't pierce his heart. The tanto went into Naruto's shoulder and began to go in slowly; Naruto couldn't even scream due to the pain.
Akeno was suddenly tackled off Naruto; Naruto turned his head and saw Kurumi on top of Akeno.
Kurumi popped her arm back into place and upon getting back up saw Naruto about to be stabbed by the inn keeper; Kurumi was not on top of her and cocked back her fist.
Kurumi proceeded to punch Akeno in the face, followed up by another and another; Kurumi was about to punch again but was stopped when she was grabbed from behind in a rear naked choke by Asuka.
Asuka now having Kurumi in a chock hold began to knee her in the kidneys causing immense pain to the black-haired girl; after kneeing her a couple times Asuka was choking the life out of Kurumi. This was stopped when Karin came up and smashed a vase on Asuka's head.
"Get off her you little shit" Karin said; Karin was about to help Kurumi but was punched in the stomach by Akeno. Akeno and Karin began to exchange fists while Kurumi and Asuka wrestled on the ground.
Naruto was on his back trying to pull out the knife out of his shoulder and got up on wobbly feet; Naruto seeing what was going on limped over to the scroll holding all his gear and opened it.
Naruto took out a bundle of exploding tags and shouted "Kurumi, Karin; substitute" he shouted; both girls turned to him as he threw the paper bombs.
Outside the inn
The inn exploded just as Naruto, Karin and Kurumi landed on the rocky ground; Karin and Kurumi got up holding their heads.
"Oww what the hell" Kurumi said in pain and confusion "what the hell did we just get into" she said.
"Oh god Naruto" Karin said running over to Naruto; Kurumi looked over and saw Naruto in a pool of his own blood "oh god I think one of his arteries is nicked" she said.
"What do we do" Kurumi said; Karin took off her shirt now only wearing a bra.
"Hold this onto his wound to stop the bleeding" Karin said as Kurumi did as instructed; Karin raised up her sleeve and put her arm into Naruto's mouth and forced him to bite down. Naruto began to heal and his wound closed up; but Karin had to stop as it was taking its toll on her "ok he should be stable" she said.
Naruto groaned as his eyes opened "what happened" Naruto asked and Kurumi spoke up.
"We were attacked by the inn keeper and her niece" Kurumi said "I don't know how strong they were but I think- "she began until she heard shouting off in the distance.
"Blonde guy" came the voice of Asuka; all three looked and saw both Asuka and Akeno walk out of the burning building with only minor burns and injuries "you will pay for what you did to my daddy" she shouted into the darkness of the night.
"They're still alive" Kurumi said surprised "who the hell are those 2" she said.
"I will find you and I will kill you" Asuka shouted "I'll kill you and everyone you love; you can't hide forever I'll hunt you to the ends of the earth" she finished sounding like an unhinged person.
"Let's get the fuck out of here" Karin said as she and Kurumi picked up Naruto and began to sneak out of the area leaving a burning building and 2 vengeful women behind them.
The next day
Gaara, Temari, Kankuro and Obito were all waiting at the front gate expecting the return of Naruto and Kurumi; a scouting hawk returned and verified that they are near the village.
"My baby girl completed her first C-rank mission" Obito said with pride "tonight we should celebrate" he said and Temari nodded.
"Yeah we should get some ramen; I'm sure Naruto will like that" Temari said and Obito nodded.
"Look over there" Kankuro said pointing off in the distance "hey is that them; why are there 3 people" he asked confused. Gaara having a bad feeling spoke up.
"Follow me" Gaara said as he and the others ran towards the 3 figures; upon approaching them they found a battered Kurumi, a half severely injured Naruto and an unknown red-haired girl.
"Naruto oh my god" Temari shouted as she ran up and grabbed him pulling him onto her shoulder.
"Kurumi; baby" Obito said going over to his daughter and began looking at her injuries.
"Who the hell are you" Kankuro said looking to Karin.
Gaara went up to the barely conscious Naruto and spoke "Naruto what happened; who did this to you" he said in concern.
Naruto began to shake as he looked at Gaara; Naruto began to tear up and spoke "G-Gaara… I fucked up" he said.
At the same time: at the inn
The inn was now nothing more than a pile of burnt wood; Akeno and Asuka were at a spot behind the inn with shovels digging into the earth. Akeno shoved her shovel down into the earth once more and heard a 'clank'; she kneeled down and wiped the dirt away revealing a metal chest. Akeno pulled the chest out of the ground and put it in front of her and Asuka.
Akeno went through a couple hand signs and tapped the chest undoing the seal on it; the chest opened up and Akeno reached inside. Akeno pulled out 2 twin hook swords and handed them to Asuka; Akeno reached back in and took out a bow and a quiver of arrows and placed them to the side.
Akeno reached in once more time and pulled out an Anbu flak jacket and a 2 Yugakure headbands with its symbols slashed out. Akeno tied the first one around her forehead and the second around Asuka's before grabbing her weapons and standing up.
"Let's go Asuka" Akeno said and her niece nodded; both began to walk away from the burned inn and walk down the road "We will first go check Kusa see if those 3 are missing ninja; they may have not been wearing headbands but they were shinobi" she said.
"And then what Auntie" Asuka said.
"If they aren't there we will go check; Ame, then Iwa, then Taki" Akeno said "that boy killed Renji and burned our inn; and we will have our vengeance" she said and Asuka nodded. "No matter how long it takes; we will find him and we will kill him" Akeno said "no one can hide forever" she said.
Asuka and Akeno walked down the road now on a journey of vengeance against the man who wronged them.
Ok another chapter done; I hope you all enjoy it. So yeah, now not only does Naruto have to deal with Orochimaru and Danzo; now he has to deal with 2 more people who have a personal vendetta against him.
