After the meal, Logan went to say hello to an old friend across the room so Rory was left alone with her thoughts. She didn't regret what she said, but she was annoyed at the way she said it. What was she expecting? Logan to just jump at the chance to be with her? He broke up with her four years ago - he made his choice. She was still lost in thought until her cell phone rang and jolted her from her reverie.

She glanced at the display. It was Finn. Of course it was Finn - now of all times.

"Hey, Finn," she said in greeting as she answered.

"Love! How the hell are you, Dear?" he asked WAYYYY too formally for Finn.

She smirked at the phone, sensing something was up. "I'm good. How the hell are you?"

Logan arrived back at the table as glanced at her curiously until the server brought their check. He smoothly stuck his card into the folio and gave it back to her in one swoop.

"Oh, I'm fantastic. I just came from an aerial silks class," Finn said lazily as he stretched audibly.

"You're learning aerial silks? Really?" she had to ask. That was odd, even for him.

Logan furrowed his brow at the idea of someone taking that sort of class. The only person he knew who would do that was... FINN. Why was FINN calling Rory?

"So, would it be okay if I called you back? I'm finishing up lunch with a friend," she said vaguely.

Finn grinned and commented, "Love, I can tell by the way you said FRIEND its someone you want to shag."

"Finn!" she exclaimed.

"Wait, before you go, what are you doing tonight?" he asked.

"Um, actually, absolutely nothing," she admitted.

"Love, you sound desperate. Don't just come out and say that!" he admonished.

She laughed and said, "Well, its true. Anyway, why do you ask?"

"I'm having a dinner party. Not at my house, but at one of the hotels. We're trying out a new chef and I want to have people come and try the food," Finn explained.

"Finn, I don't know..." she whined a little.

"You already said you don't have anything to do tonight. Come, meet some new people, and bring an overnight bag. You can stay the night in the hotel and go home after brunch."

Logan's eyebrows shot up when she added replied, "Finn! I'm not sleeping with you!"

"Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, Love! That's not what I meant, although if you're offering..."

"I wasn't!" she shrieked into the phone.

"No, seriously, you have your own room. I wasn't hitting on you. I just thought it would be fun to see you. And bring that guy you're with. We need to get to know him too, I guess," Finn added.

"He's working," she replied.

"I'm crushed," Finn deadpanned in return. "I'll text you the address. Dinner is at eight, but come early to check into your room and relax." He hung up immediately after.

She stared at her blackberry and finally set it down on the table. She looked up at Logan and said, "He's subtle!"

"Yeah, he's always been known for his subtlety," Logan quipped. "Did I hear you say 'aerial silks'?"

"Indeed. He's going to end up in traction," she giggled.

Logan nodded. "Do you know he's never broken a bone or even pulled a muscle as far as I know?"

"You're kidding!"

"Nope. He's like some weird cat with nine lives or... Gumby."

Rory laughed and agreed. "I'm going with Gumby."

Logan asked, "So... he either invited you to go to bed with him or to the dinner party?"

"Both actually, but I think he was more interested in the dinner party, actually," she said as she shrugged.

"Are you going to go?" he asked.

"I'm not sure. I was going to catch up on my TV shows and do my laundry while eating Indian food," she said quietly.

Logan shook his head, "Ace, you know if you use cold water you don't have to separate everything into nine tiny batches."

"Wait one minute! Logan freaking Huntzberger is give ME tips on how to do laundry? What is happening?" she asked with a big laugh.

He smirked at her and said, "You have no idea what I'm good at anymore."

"That's true," she said. "So, are you going?"

"He would literally come to get me if I don't show up on my own accord. I'm going to just show up," he said with a smile.

The server came back and made a point of leaning over and displaying her cleavage for him as she signed the receipt. Once she left, Rory asked, "You don't even notice anymore do you?"

"What?" he asked.

"She literally put her breasts in your face and you didn't bat an eye," she said with a laugh.

He shrugged, "Eh. People see my last name and they think showing some skin will get them a bigger tip."

"Thank you for lunch," she said while setting her napkin on the table. "This was fun."

"It WAS fun. I've missed talking to you, Ace," Logan said. "Now, I get to make the two hour drive back to the city."

She nodded, "Yep, me too." She put her bag on her shoulder and stood up from her side of the booth.

They walked outside and down the street to their respective cars.

"I guess I'll see you around, Ace," Logan said with a gleam in his eye. "Give me a call if you ever want to... hang out."

"You once said 'hang out' is a little vague," she teased him.

"What if I was trying to be vague?" he smirked at her.

"Ugh! You're impossible!" she said with fake exasperation.

Logan began counting on his fingers, "One, two, three..."

"What are you counting?" she inquired.

"The number of things you've called me that stand out in my memory: Butt-faced miscreant, Judi Dench, vague... I think butt-faced miscreant is my favorite - its the most descriptive," he said while bursting into laughter.

Also with a laugh, Rory said, "Good memory! But I'm sure I called you more than that over the years."

"I'm sure you have," he said quietly. "Bye, Ace," he said as he hugged her goodbye. They were standing very close together - within kissing distance. He stared into her eyes for about 5 seconds too long with his hands on her waist.

"Bye, Logan," she whispered as she stared back at him.
