Augustana Apartments of Minneapolis

Adam's POV

Bella met Gunner, Dad, and I at Grandma Lebrie's new apartment that she moved into yesterday. I looked up at the red brick building and thought, my God how are we ever going to find here.

"Can I help you?" asked a lady with Red hair whose name read Susan on her name tag.

"Uh yeah, we are looking for Josephine Lebrie, she moved in here, yesterday;" Dad said.

"Oh yes Mrs. Lebrie. I am Susan. I am one of the assistant directors here," Susan said.

"I'm Gordon Bombay, these are her Grandkids, Adam and Isabella, Bombay," Dad said.

"Banks," Bella said.

" And Friend Gunnar Stahl. Anyway, we were hoping to see her," Dad said.

"Of course, anytime, it's just that the doors are locked after 9 pm for safety reasons. Which you would have to be buzzed in for," Susan said.

"Of course," Dad said.

"Josephine Lebrie, she's in apartment 1115," Susan said looking at a piece of paper.

"Have you seen her today?" Dad asked.

"Uh not since Lunch, I assume she is still unpacking yet," Susan said.

"Okay thanks," Dad said.

"Sure, the Elevator is just down the hall to the right," Susan said.

When we got up to Grandma's Apartment, dad knocked on the door to the apartment.

"Who is it?" Grandma asked.

"Uh its Gordon, Adam, Bella and Gunnar," Dad said.

"Oh, come in," Grandma said.

Once we got through the door I was astonished by the amount of boxes that was in there, it was like a path of boxes.

"Marco," Bella cried.

"Polo," Grandma said.

"Marco," Bella cried again.

"Polo," Grandma said as she exited her bedroom.

"Hi Grandma," Bella said.

"Hi Bella, Gordon, Adam and Gunnar," Grandma said.

"Vhat is Marco Polo?" Gunnar asked.

"It's a game. Like hide and seek," I said.

"Ah, like Tails," Gunnar said. I looked at him weirdly.

"Man Grandma, that is a lot of boxes," Bella said.

"All the more to trip over my dear," Grandma said.

Bella giggled.

"How's the unpacking, going," Dad asked.

"Uh slow just like the rest of me. How was the game last night?" Grandma said.

"I don't want to talk about it," Bella and I said together.

"I see, how's Michele?" Grandma asked.

"Uh good, probably be released from the hospital tomorrow or Monday," Dad said.

"And the baby?" Grandma asked.

"She's okay I guess, fighting off an infection," I said.

"Vou vaven't been up vhere?" Gunnar asked.

"Not yet, Gunnar, I was hoping tomorrow after church, if you and Charlie don't mind, Bella dear," Grandma asked.

Bella said nothing.

"Uh probably not a good idea, Mrs. Lebrie. Its family only right now," Gordon said.

"Oh, of course, do you have a picture?" Grandma asked.

"Do I have a picture?" Dad asked as he pulled his wallet out of his back pocket. He walked over to show her.

"Oh sweetie, so small," Grandma said.

"I know," Dad said.

"I want to give you kids something," Grandma said.

"Mrs. Lebrie, that isn't necessary," Dad said.

"Yes it is, they are going to need this now," Grandma said as she handed me the keys to her car.

"Grandma the keys," I asked.

"Vo vhe car? Ve get a car," Gunnar asked.

"Yes as soon as I find the title, the car is yours," Grandma said.

"That isn't necessary," Dad said.

"Gordon the kids could use the car more than I could," Grandma said.

"How would you get around town?" Bella asked.

"I have everything here that I need. If I need to go out there is a bus that can take us, or my grand babies," Grandma said.

"Thanks Grandma," I said.

"Vah," Gunnar said.

"This isn't necessary," Dad said.

"Gordon I am giving the car to the kids, end of discussion," Grandma said.
