Alex stumbled out of bed and into the bathroom. "I'm sorry, Rachel!" He cried looking toward the sink as his tears fell into it.
"Revenge!" Alex looked into the mirror, half of his face was grayish green, his eye pushed into his orb leaving a hollow void, devoid of light and warmth. His lip was pale and black leaving an unquenchable maw filled with rows of yellowed crooked teeth.
"Revenge!" His voice echoed with Wendigos. Turning his head, he looked at his bag. Placing it on the bed, he carefully grabbed the teddy bear pendant and held it in his hands, his breathing grew shaky as he slid it around his neck. Grabbing his laptop, he placed it on the desk and turned it on.
"Is everything ready?" An email popped up on his screen.
"Almost..." He typed. "I moved to a different location."
"Close by?"
"Yes."
Another email popped up with the address and the name of an underground for mutants. "Shadow Haven." he told himself. "I went there with Dylan and the group."
"You really hate me, don't you?" He wrote back.
"What! What made you think that? :)"
Alex huffed in amusement as he leaned back into his chair. "Almost there." He mumbled. Grabbing his hoodie, he snuck out of the tower.
The rocks from the asphalt bounced from music as he got closer to an abandoned parking garage. Graffiti lit up along the entrance and lights flashed the street, walking toward the entrance he heard a group of men laughing. Going to investigate he found the same group of men that attacked him and Natasha surrounding a 5'5 black-haired girl. "She's shy." One of them laughed.
"Come on, show us something." Another one grabbed her arm.
"Don't touch me!" She slapped him.
"Bitch!" He backhanded her knocking her to the ground. "Get her in the van." The man said.
"You might not want to do that." Alex walked toward them. "I remember telling you guys to leave." Wendigo's face flashed across his face causing the men to stumble back. "Wh-What are you?"
Alex picked up a broken beer bottle and disappeared. "I'm the last person you will see alive!" He whispered behind the man before stabbing him in the side of the neck multiple times, he disappeared again before reappearing in front of another and slit his throat. The last guy tried to run but was stabbed in the ankle. Grabbing some broken glass from the ground he forced it down the man's throat causing him to cough and gag, seconds later his throat started opening with little slits causing blood to leak out, the more he coughed or gagged the larger the slits would get killing him.
Alex felt something hit him on the back of the head, turning around he found the familiar blue-headed boy laughing as he threw another rock before running away.
"Dylan!" He growled, running after him.
"Do not antagonize him, Dylan!" A man spoke in an earpiece.
"It's all fun and games!" He chuckled, stopping he put his foot out, tripping Alex he slid face first on the asphalt into a car. Looking up his skin hung down from his face and one of his eyeballs hung from its sockets, the two ran through the streets before entering neighborhoods as Dylan mocked, tripped, and kicked him. As they turned a corner it started to snow, the farther they went the heavier it got. The roads grew slick causing Dylan to lose control and slide into a playground. "Get away from him, that is an order!" The man shouted. Laughing he threw his earpiece on the ground.
"You've taken everything from me!" A voice echoed behind a lingering tone. Turning around, Dylan stumbled backwards, and crawled away when half of Alex's face was Wendigo's. "Stay away from me!" He cried.
"We're just getting started!" A small pop came from the ground as he stepped on the earpiece. Dylan stumbled up and ran off. Running beside him Alex smiled. "You're not worth my time!" Wendigo's face disappeared.
"It's just you and me!" Alex laughed.
Dylan screamed out in tears as his hair turned bright blue before shooting forward in a burst of speed. He looked behind him and could not see anything. "Th-Thank you!"
"Miss me!" Alex appeared in front of him.
Dylan screamed and swerved out of the way but lost control and slammed into a tree. "I always knew you were the weak one out of the group, to be honest... so did everybody else. They just made you the leader out of pity!" He kicked him in the side as he tried to stand up. "You're nothing..." He grabbed him by the shirt and punched him in the face. "You're weak... pathetic... worthless... Rebecca wishes you were never born!" Alex threw Dylan as his eyes sunk into his orbs causing the wind to roar to life blizzarding the snow as multiple funnels descended from the sky.
Logan was smoking a cigar with his arm around Storm who was sleeping on his side with her head on his chest when she jolted up. "Alex..." She stared at Logan who was staring at something else, turning her head, she found ice crawling up the window. "Get to the safe room." Storm instructed the students as they quickly made it out of their rooms. "Colos..." Logan was interrupted as the fierce winds broke the door open as Dylan slid across the floor and slammed into the back wall of the foyer.
"Dylan!" Echoed through the darkness, lightning lit up the sky revealing several tornadoes surrounding the mansion, and the silhouette of a man walking toward it.
Dylan stumbled up and ran for the stairs when he was knocked on the ground by Alex who appeared in front of him. "I'm not finished with you!" He shoved his thumb in his eye causing a blood curdling scream to feel the room, throwing him on the ground Dylan's eye thrashed around his face as it strung out of its socket.
"You will never hurt anyone again!"
"I'm sorry!" He sobbed on his knees. "Please!" He screamed holding his hands together. "Forgive me!" He bowed his head toward the ground.
"Forgiveness is nowhere to be found."
"Wh... No!" He shrieked as Alex ripped the skin off his face and raised it in the air. Dylan's body went limp and fell completely to the floor, his breathing labored as blood started to pool around him. Alex looked around before walking up the stairs, stopping in front of Storm he hugged her. "Mom." He mumbled.
She chuckled and rubbed his back. "I've missed you."
He felt someone touch his leg and looked down to find the nine-year-old boy staring at him. "You saved us again."
"Y..." Alex turned his head before speeding off. "Natasha!" He arrived at a broken into Avengers tower. "Alexis, Natasha!" He called out. "Max!"
A slight groan came from up the stairs, walking up he found Pepper sitting against the wall with a broken leg. "What happened?" he asked kneeling next to her.
"Ah!" She groaned in pain as she tried moving. "A man came in and took Natasha, Alexis, Steve, and Barton."
"Who was it?"
"I don't know, he was a large man with some sort of unbreakable skin."
He felt someone's hand on his shoulder causing him to jolt upwards. "Who are you? Answer me!" He shouted.
"My name is Dr. Morbius, I'm a friend of Max and Alexis."
"Why should I trust you?"
"Alexis does."
He glared at Morbius. "You're running out of time to save your friends." He knelt beside Pepper.
"Get out of here!" She winced as Morbius checked her leg.
He growled before running out of the tower. He looked around the area but stopped when he smelled dirty clothes and sweat socks. "What's that stench?" He shook his head before speeding through the city following the trail, arriving at an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Manhattan.
Hopping the fence two searchlights on watch towers turned on. "Damn!" He hid in a dark alley. "I need to get those lights out before I can do anything."
He turned around as someone punched him in the face, The man punched at Alex again, but he dodged the attack and punched him in the kidney before trailing the punches up his spine, reaching his neck he slammed him onto the ground before stomping on his face multiple times killing him. Breathing heavily, he Looked up to find another guard staring at him. He disappeared when the guard reached for his radio. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." Alex said with his hand over his mouth.
The man nodded and dropped the walkie-talkie. "Leave and don't come, do I make myself clear?" The man mumbled and nodded his head.
"Good." He slowly let go of him. The man tried to shout but was quickly put into a headlock.
Natasha groaned as she slowly gained consciousness, as the faint sound of bells entered the room.
A teenager in a short Mrs. Claus dress, red elf shoes with bells at the tips, and a Santa hat entered the area as she hummed jingle bells before stopping at a crate called Christmas decorations. Bending down she grabbed out Christmas hats. Smiling, she walked toward Natasha who was chained to a bed and placed a Santa hat with reindeer antlers attached to it.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome!" She squealed. "It looks good on you."
"Thank you; you look beautiful in that dress."
"Oh!" She giggled. "I hope you don't die." She said skipping toward Steve who was chained to a metal beam which she put a Santa hat on him. "Can you let us go?" He asked her.
She smiled and placed a hand on his cheek. "Not going to happen, flag boy." She moved towards Barton who was shirtless and hanging from his feet from the ceiling, and placed a Santa Claus hat with elf ears on his head and tied it to his chin.
Barton groaned in pain as blood trickled from his back onto the ground, where a metal device sat in a pool of his blood.
Alex kicked the guard on the ground, ripping the searchlight off its mantle he slammed it on him. He heard a faint cry coming from the inside of the warehouse before a blood curdling scream. "Alexis!"
Natasha was forcing her hand out of the chains when the doors flung off their hinges as a gust of wind sped through knocking her back. Alex busted a door down revealing Alexis chained to the wall and a man holding a pair of pliers, moving forward he noticed four canines lying on a table in a pool of blood. "What have you done?" He growled reaching for the canines.
"My job!" He punched toward Alex.
The wall above the three Avengers broke as the man flew out and landed on the floor. "Daddy!" A five-year-old boy ran out of a room.
"Get out of here!" He groaned.
Alex landed on the ground holding Alexis in his arms with blood dripping out of her mouth. Gently placing her on Natasha he traced his finger down one of her chains causing it to freeze before shattering. "Get out of here." The guy pushed his son away. "This is between me and you, leave my son out of this."
Alex tilted his head before disappearing, reappearing, he held onto the boy's shoulder and Natasha's gun pointed at his head. "Daddy." The boy whimpered.
"It's going to be okay." He spoke. "Stop pointing the gun at him!" He shouted.
Alex chuckled and lowered the gun. "Thank you." He breathed out. He shot the father in the head before grabbing the kid by the back of the neck and shooting him in the head splattering blood on him, walking forward he emptied the magazine in the kids head before dropping the gun in a pool of blood.
Walking toward Alexis a beam of ice shot at him; dodging the attack, he ran around the room before slipping on Steve's shield and slamming into a wall. A man covered in ice jumped from the balcony. "Ah!" He screamed freezing Alex to the wall.
Huffing in annoyance he grabbed Alexis and dragged her off Natasha; Natasha frantically pulled at her chains trying to get free. "You chose the wrong team!" Mist covered Alexis as he shot ice from her hands, freezing her. "It's not personal." He said walking away. Stopping, he heard a faint crack, turning around he found Alex emerging from the ice protecting Alexis.
"You betrayed the X-men." He croaked.
"What can I say, better benefits." He chuckled.
Alex gritted his teeth together, running toward iceman he tackled him to the ground and started beating him leaving black markings on his face. "Get off me!" An explosion of ice sent Alex flying toward Natasha.
He shot a beam of ice at Alex, dodging the attack he punched him in the face knocking him down. Alex growled and grabbed him by the neck. "This isn't personal!" He pushed his hand down on his chest. Wincing in pain he started screaming as the ice blackened from his chest outward before exploding sending ice chunks through the air.
Breathing heavily, he stood up but was knocked down by Rebecca who jumped on and kissed him. She instantly jumped off coughing. "What did you do to me?" She wheezed. Alex smiled and waved at her. "Bye Bye!"
Her hair brightened but stopped as it turned white as white veins dispersed around her mouth. She screamed and jumped as she looked at her hands and arms as her skin turned transparent. Landing on the ground her legs turned to mush collapsing in on her, she breathed her last breath in the form of condensation as her body froze, mummifying her.
Alexis groaned as she gained consciousness, feeling around her mouth, she placed her hands over her face as she cried. Feeling someone standing beside her she lowered them. "A-Alex?" She mumbled. Kneeling, she sat up and hugged him crying on his shoulder. "Sorry." she said as blood drooled onto his shirt.
Moving his hand to the back of her head he slowly rubbed her back with the other one. "Do you think I'm ugly without my canines?"
"You look like a goddess." He whispered in her ear. Her breathing calmed down as she placed her hand on his chest. "You give me peace." He whispered.
Alexis smiled. "I don't know what to say to that." She chuckled causing him to chuckle along with her.
"This is beautiful." A gruff sounding man said.
Alex looked up and pushed Alexis out of the way as he was punched across the room. "Alex!" Alexis yelled. The man grabbed her by the head as she tried to stand up and slammed her into the ground.
"I thought I recognized your scent, Blob!" He croaked at the red-haired man wearing a black jumpsuit, his fat hanging down stretching the fabric farther and farther away from the body.
"Alex!" He ran toward him, stepping on Alexis, she cried in pain causing him to stop. Laughing he lifted his foot and then slammed it down again causing her to cry in pain. "Stop it!" Alex tried to yell but could not.
"Or what!" He slammed his foot down again but this time the fat on his leg crawled down and stuck to the floor. Alexis coughed up blood as she wheezed trying to breathe. Alex kneed Blob in the face but with no avail. "Is that all you got." He punched Alex in the face knocking him down. He growled in anger and punched Blob in the belly. "May not want to do that." He laughed as his fat opened trapping his arm as it engulfed it. Alex growled in anger and pulled away.
"Done being dramatic?" He laughed.
He roared in anger before his arm ripped off, turning grey it disintegrated into the air. "What the?" Blob said. Alex fell to his knees as he started gagging before vomiting up a soft gooey beige color blob. Breathing heavily, he stood up as black ooze pumped out of his upper arm, looking at Blob and then at Alexis, he disappeared.
"Looks like your dying, sweetheart." He laughed at Alexis who was slowly fading away. A giant boom flooded the area causing the building to shake, destroying windows, and causing things to fall over as Alex jumped toward Blob and headbutted him. Stumbling backwards he released Alexis as he shook his head as he started losing consciousness. Alex whose clothes were all tattered and broken got under Blob, he yelled as his body shook profusely as he picked him up on his shoulders and with his free hand he gripped onto the fat on the back of his neck before falling backwards slamming Blob on his neck. Alex stumbled forward before falling beside Alexis as blood rushed out of his eyes, ears, and nose.
Natasha groaned in pain as she started sliding her hand out of her restraints but stopped when a door opened, and a white van slowly backed up. A red-haired, 6'6 athletic toned man got out of the driver's seat caring a backpack. He looked around before running towards Alexis. Kneeling next to her he checked her pulse, and then her breathing. "No, no, no." He said before starting compressions. "Come on." He listened to her breathing once more before starting compressions again. A few seconds later, Alexis's chest started rising with labored breathing.
Opening his bag, he pulled out a needle, and a bottle. Injecting her in the neck he raised her lip and checked her gums where the missing canines were, grabbing the bottle he poured the liquid on a medical napkin and wiped away as much of the blood he could before placing it in between her teeth and closing her mouth. Picking her up he gently placed her in the van and closed the door. Walking toward Steve he checked his restraints before driving out of the warehouse.
"It was a bad day to send Max and Tony on a mission." Barton said fidgeting with his restraints.
"We..." Steve stopped talking as a small groan and some movement came from Alex. A few minutes later he sat up and placed his free hand over his face, wincing in pain, his upper arm disintegrated before a new arm slowly slid out of his shoulder. Lying back on the ground he raised his hand and slowly extended out his fingers before bringing them into a fist.
One of the many doors to the warehouse swung open as ten gunmen dressed in combat gear and masks rushed inside and surrounded Alex with their guns pointed at him. "Don't move!" the leader said sternly.
"Is this all of you?" Alex laughed. "That... That is pathetic!" A small squeak came out of him as he laughed.
"Shut up!" The leader yelled.
"You know..." He wiped his eyes. "Speaking as a teenager, you really need to learn manners."
He gritted his teeth before pulling the trigger followed by the other gunmen. "Where did he go?" Another asked as they stopped shooting.
"Yoo-hoo!" Alex called out holding Steve's shield. Pointing his fingers toward his eyes then to the leader he stepped backwards. Getting a head start he threw the shield sending a high pitch whistle into the air, ricocheting off the walls the leader fell to the ground as his head landed beside Steve's feet as well as his blood splattered shield. Steve closed his eyes and lowered his head.
The gunmen looked at the leader then at his head, and then in the direction where Alex was. "Where did he go?" Another one asked.
"Spread out..." The second in command yelled. "You two, go upstairs." He pointed toward the stairs. "You two, stay here. The rest come with me." He said walking toward a door leading to the basement.
Alex crawled on the rafters as he followed the gunmen up the stairs. "Check that area." One of them pointed to a room.
The gunmen walked into the room but stopped when he heard. "What are you doing? No, No!" He ran outside but could not find anything, he looked down on the ground as a drop of blood dropped in front of him, looking up he found the gunmen dangling from a hook from a chain. "Number 3 is down." He spoke in his walkie-talkie.
"I don't see any...thing." A gunman on the main floor said as the last gunmen from upstairs fell on the main floor. "Ah!" The second gunmen on the main floor screamed before blood splattered into the gunman's view.
"Backu..." The walkie-talkie went silent.
A gunman walked up the stairs and found Alex biting into a man's neck squirting blood into the air. Looking up, blood dripped from his chin as he slurped a piece of skin into his mouth. "I got him in my sight!" The gunman yelled shooting.
Alex roared before stumbling up and disappearing. "I hit him!" The gunman yelled.
"Is he dead?" The second in command asked before the lights flickered off. "Flashlights on." Several clicks were heard as they turned on their flashlights mounted to their guns.
Dark clouds filled the sky as snow and ice started falling, in a matter of seconds it began heavy pounding all over the outside of the warehouse. Natasha was taking the opportunity to try and get herself out of the handcuffs but froze when she felt something light land on her abdomen as she was overwhelmed with the feeling of death and corruption. A gunman passed the area with his flashlight allowing Natasha to see a gore-stained matted white furred withered and bony figure sitting with his legs bent under him and his arms laid straight on his knuckles.
Wendigo hissed at him before jumping forward. A scream flooded the darkness causing multiple feet to shuffle around in fear. "What was that?" A gunman asked.
"Did you see anything?" He said touching another gunman on the shoulder, his body fell backwards revealing the skin on his face missing leaving a bloodied skull. "What the..." He trembled, hearing a faint noise, in front of him, he dropped his weapon in fear and ran in the other direction. Wendigo roared in pain before a thud hit the floor. "The creature is dead; I repeat the creature is dead." The gunman said over the walkie-talkie.
"On our way." One responded. Two flashlights appeared in the darkness as they walked forward. Hearing splashing under their feet they looked down to find a pool of blood, following the trail with their flashlights they found the gunman with his organs spread out of his body. "What is going on here?" The lead asked, turning around, he jumped as his companion's head fell to the floor in pieces.
"Who's there?" The second in command spoke in the walkie-talkie. "Number 4?" "Static!"
The lights flickered on revealing the gunmen's mutilated bodies. Natasha explored the room and stopped when she saw Wendigo sitting on the rafters, wearing a breastplate made from bone, and a brown loincloth that stopped at his knees. His limbs elongated and grotesque ending in long razor-like talons replacing his fingertips, and two large talons replacing and cutting off his toes.
The second in command walked under him when he made his move, dodging the attack he punched the Wendigo across the room. Stabbing his talons into the ground, he slid to a stop. "Blake!"
"Alex!" Blake mocked taking off his helmet. "You thought you could come in here and beat me! I am invincible!" He yelled, tearing off the armor on his chest leaving him shirtless. "Come on!" He pounded his fists on the ground before raising them in front of him.
Wendigo detached his talons from the floor before jumping forward, Blake stumbled back and winced in pain as he held his chest with a fresh cut on it. "Is that all you got?" Wendigo jumped forward again, and again, and again before long Blake was screaming in pain as blood splattered the floor around him. Wendigo slid to a stop as Blake collapsed on the floor with hundreds of cuts.
He reached forward but was stabbed in the heart by a spear. "Alex!" A 6'3, Black haired man wearing a fur coat smoking a cigar said.
Wendigo hissed at him before attacking, dodging the attack he grabbed Wendigo by the neck and put the cigar in his eye. Wendigo screamed in pain holding his eye as he scooted away. The man laughed as he threw a bottle of alcohol at him before throwing his lighter engulfing him with fire. A shriek rang through the warehouse as Wendigo collapsed to the ground trying to escape. Before long everything went silent. "It really pains me to do this..." He grabbed his spear as he walked toward him. Raising it in the air he was hit in the head knocking him down, looking around he found Steve catching his shield and sliding it onto his arm. "A shame what happened to Schmidt." He groaned standing up.
"I didn't cry too much." Steve replied.
The man chuckled before throwing his spear at Steve; Steve blocked the attack and rolled out of the way from an attack, maneuvering around the guy he slammed his shield in his inner knee and smacked him in the face with his shield on his way down knocking him on his back.
He laughed as he got up. "You're handy with your little shield."
"What can I say..." He smiled. "I'm the distraction."
"Wha..." The man was interrupted as two blades went through his back. He groaned in pain as he fell to his knees. "I should've known." He laughed as Max walked in front of him wearing jeans and a white hooded tank top.
"Richie!"
"You've gotten wiser." He groaned before coughing up blood.
"You brought my family into this!"
"Never let your emotions get in the way!" He mustered the last of his strength to attack him but was interrupted when a giant repulser beam went through his chest. Richie smiled as he looked toward Max. "This isn't over." He groaned as Max ripped his knives out of his back.
"I'll be ready!" He said before decapitating him.
"We don't have much time..." Max said as he walked toward a naked unconscious Alex. "He needs to get to Morbius." He checked his pulse.
"We're not bringing him with us." Tony said as Max picked up Alex.
"Yes, we are." He said walking out of the warehouse followed by Natasha and Barton.
"We'll discuss this at the tower." Steve said walking toward the exit.
"That's my tower!" Tony growled before flying out through the roof.
Alex laid on a medical bed wrapped in burn wrap, with a feeding, and breathing tube, and other medial essentials to keep him alive. "Any news?" Max asked walking into the tower's medical bay alongside Natasha.
"Alex is in a medical induced coma, his body is healing itself but with the burns it will take a lot longer."
"What about Alexis?" Natasha asked sitting beside her.
"The bad news is her canines were ripped out and she's in a medical induced coma until she can fully heal, the good news is they were her baby ones."
"I-I don't understand." Natasha looked at Max.
"With what I have studied on werewolves..." Morbius interrupted. "Baby canines get replaced with adult canines at 18 for girls, 21 for boys."
"How long will it take her to heal?"
"It could be anywhere from a day to a week."
Natasha glared at Morbius before walking out. "You're helpful." She slammed the door.
"Thanks for your help, Morbius." Max shook his hand.
"Tell Natasha I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do but wait like the rest of you guys."
"I know, thanks... for everything." He said before walking out. Max walked through out the tower trying to find Natasha when he heard a faint sniffle coming from the staircase, opening the door he silently walked up the stairs until he found Natasha sitting on the stairs with her hand against her face while the other laid across her abdomen. "Natasha?" he asked softly.
"I don't know what to do?" She mumbled through tears. "I-I just..." She stopped talking as a quiet sob escaped her.
Max sat beside her and wrapped his arm around her, thinking of something to say he just sat there and held her allowing her to cry in peace. "You probably hate me." She sniffled.
"I could never hate you."
"This is all my fault." She cried.
Max slid his finger under her chin lifting her head. "You did not put our daughter in a medical bed, you did not rip out her canines, and you did not break our daughter. You had nothing to do with what happened to Alex or Alexis. Don't say that ever again." He slid his thumb under her eyes wiping away the tears. "Please."
Natasha gave a slight smile. "Look who took over wearing the pants."
"I have my moments." He pulled her in closer. A few seconds later they heard the door open to the staircase. "Natasha, Max, are you down there?" Barton asked.
"Yeah!" Max responded.
"You may want to see this."
Max and Natasha walked upstairs to find a massive blizzard outside. "What's going on?"
The Avengers looked at them before turning back to the tv. "A massive storm has come out of nowhere..." The news reporter spoke. Honking was heard as the camera turned toward a large semi-truck trying to stop but slid right into the reporter and her cameraman. "Static!" "Uh... we're having some technical difficulties." The newscaster said before the tv shut off.
"We need to find out what's going on." Steve said.
"It's Alex." Morbius walked into the living room.
"What are you talking about?" Tony asked.
"In certain circumstances Wendigo's can create storms, somehow he is still active in his comatose state."
"How do we make it stop?" Tony asked.
"I don't think we can."
Steve shook his head as he walked toward the balcony and looked out the window. "We have a problem." He said looking at cars piling up on each other, and cars sliding to a stop just before hitting someone.
