Hiccup followed by Toothless began to make their way inside again when Hiccup had an idea.
"Hey what if we let that group sleep in our spot tonight, then you and I can kinda camp out at the top tonight."
"Want a little alone time hmm?" Toothless pressed his snout into Hiccup's neck. Hiccup turned beet red as his body flushed.
"That's n-not what I was thinking." He took a deep breath. "While that would be nice but with my dad and his group along with the dragons from earlier. We'd get caught."
"Hiccup you see others mating here everyday and you're worried about getting caught?"
"You know that for humans it's more private than that." Hiccup said. Toothless chuckled a little.
"I know, I know. I was just messing with you. Besides I don't want people to see what I do to you. They'd think I'm a monster with how much you scream." He nipped at Hiccup's tail.
"P-pleeaase s-stop." Hiccup whispered, feeling suddenly self conscious. Toothless licked Hiccup's neck.
"Take deep breaths. You're okay." He whispered in his love's ear. "I'm sorry for making you feel weird. You just had me going a bit." He pulled Hiccup to the side near the wall, just to be a little less out in the open and stood up on his hind legs blocking him with his body and flared out his wings. Hiccup took a minute to recompile himself. "Better?" Hiccup nodded.
"Yeah, sor…"
"AH, don't apologize to me. You have nothing to apologize for." They sat for a moment more, Toothless staring at Hiccup still readying himself a bit.. "Gods you're beautiful." Toothless whispered. Hiccup's blush returned full force. "It's so easy to make you do that." Hiccup could hear the smile on Toothless' face.
"Well when you say stuff like that." Hiccup complained.
"Sorry that I can't help but think that my mate is the most beautiful thing on the planet. And that they should hear that." Toothless' tail was loudly scraping on the stone back and forth.
"We're not having sex Toothless." Hiccup deadpanned.
"Yes, I know. I don't need to be reminded every couple of minutes. I'm not an over zealous hatchling that's trying to get a mate for the first time. I have no need to try and change your mind. Besides we mate often enough that I don't need more than what I already get. Would I like more? Sure, yeah. But because of our differences we have to put in a lot more work. A lot more care has to be put in so that I don't hurt you. Or well, hurt you on accident that is." For the first time Hiccup looked up at his dragon and really took in what Toothless had been doing for him. Completely blocked off so no one could see him and they would have had to have been right on the other side of Toothless' wing to be able to hear what they were saying. Hiccup took a step forward and placed his forehead against Toothless' chest.
"Thanks for putting up with me bud."
"Someone has to." Toothless smirked.
"When my dad leaves we'll make a trip to the mainland land and have a couple days to ourselves. Just get away for a bit."
"Good something to look forward to." Toothless moved back and dropped down on all fours again. They continued their way down and met up with Dusty again.
"Have they started eating again.?" Hiccup asked as they arrived.
"Yep. They have. After you left I was able to talk to them more. They may not trust you still but they should talk, a little at least. They think that you're somehow keeping us here like The Old Queen. I couldn't convince them that you're different. I guess that they can't really trust humans. Uhm not that you're one, or uh, I'm going to shut up." Hiccup just rolled his eyes.
"It's fine, I do realize that I'm not exactly one or the other."
"No, no, we've accepted you as one of our own. You're a dragon that's how it is." Dusty said confidently. Hiccup's breath hitched.
"Uh, thanks, but it's not a big deal. Some people call me human, others dragon. And while I prefer one over the other I'm not going to be mad if you call me human."
Toothless pressed his snout against Hiccup's back. When Hiccup turned around he saw Toothless gleaming at him.
"What?"
"If you haven't realized then we'll talk about it later." He saw Hiccup close in on himself a little. "It's a good thing, don't worry about it." Toothless comforted. Hiccup stepped up to the group who were still very much recovering.
"Alright we've found you a spot to sleep." He announced to the group. "All you have to do is follow me." He tried to keep his voice light and helpful sounding. Begrudgingly a few of them stood up which triggered the rest of them to follow suite a couple seconds later. Hiccup led them up the path to the shelf where he and Toothless lived. "Okay this is where you'll be staying for the time you're here. I know that all you want to do is leave. Once we think that you're healthy enough to leave you'll be let go to go wherever it is that you please. If you have an alpha that you must report to, we can send a group with you to prove that you were with us and to back up that you were captured by that group of dragon hunters. Please just cooperate with us until you can leave." Hiccup paused for a moment. "If you have questions or anything please ask nearly anyone. If you wish to speak with me or my mate, we'll be at the very top of the mountain. I just ask that you don't wake us up with a question unless it's urgent. But we'll be up for a little while." Behind them Skullcrusher and the female arrived. Hiccup waved to them. Skullcrusher whispered something in her ear then walked off as she rejoined her group.
"As an example." Hiccup spoke up again. "Your friend who joined us is now allowed to leave if she wished. But is staying with us so that we can help her a bit more. Again thank you for your cooperation." Hiccup turned away. "Alright bud let's get some food and wood for a fire." Toothless nodded and followed Hiccup. On their way for food they were stopped a few times and spoke with their people. And a few more when they went to the wood stock. But eventually they made it back to the top and had their fire going and Hiccup's food cooking over it. Along with Hiccup being in his favor spot, his dragon curled around him, resting against the dragon's stomach.
