"It would be rather ideal that you two weren't shot at all this time around. I'd like to have as few of us indisposed as possible right now. Just in case."
"So just don't get shot." "That sounds easy." "Ideal even." The pair of heads agreed.
"Ideal yes, easy, we'll see. What you two have to do is bring my dad to those ships. Preferably without being seen. And depending on whether or not they bothered to bring the rope ladders up off the side, you may have to jump up so that he can get onto the deck."
"So you don't want us to get shot but hey you might have to get stabbed cause you might get stuck on a human ship?" The Seashocker asked.
"Well no, I didn't mean for you guys to jump onto the deck. I meant like you'd jump out of the water and he'd jump off you." Hiccup explained.
"I guess that makes more sense." "Yeah." "Alright then what's the plan?" "Yeah, how we gonna do this?"
"Basically my dad is going to ride you guys up to the ships. That's the easy part. The hard part is that my dad can't hold his breath as long as you two. So you're probably going to have to get closer than I'd like before you can go under and slip in unnoticed."
"And when we do get noticed?"
"You hope they don't shoot my dad and you get him to the ship safely anyway."
"Well that sounds foolproof to me. What do you think brother?" "I don't foresee getting shot at, at all, in our future."
"Look guys, if it wasn't important I wouldn't ask. I'd rather not have any sort of fight with those humans. Plus we have to think about our alliance with them. There have been a good number of important moments recently and this is another. Those humans out there are the ones we've aligned with but they don't know it yet. They're going to be hostile if they see you but we have to get my dad to those ships. If we thought we could fly him there safely then we would. But you're just going to be safer since he'll be above, sitting on you instead of you being below him where he wouldn't be in any real danger."
"When are we doing this?"
"In the morning, early. We'll meet up at the edge of the fog closest to the ships. Then you'll swim my dad out there and we hope for the best."
"That's it?" "Yeah, what happens after?" The Seashocker asked.
"What happens after is the humans on those ships will listen and give us a chance like my father and the first group did. Or they become hostile and we drive them back and rethink our strategy on merging with humans."
"It sounds like you have little faith in them."
"You and the others gave me faith when I got here and now I must give other humans the same things."
"But you aren't like other humans." "Barely human at all." "Easy to give a chance to one of our own." "Easy to trust you."
"They're right, you know." Toothless chimed in. Hiccup smiled to himself.
"Uh, th-thanks guys, that means a lot." Hiccup shifted his seating a bit. "I suppose we should see how he's gonna sit on you guys. I'd guess right in the middle." There was a pause.
"The middle would be best." "We should see though." "Just in case." "Yeah."
"Dad, come here." Hiccup called. A couple seconds later he could hear something fumbling through the water towards him.
"I have to warn you Hiccup, I'm naked."
"Well that's good. I hope you weren't bathing with all your clothes on." Hiccup chuckled.
"Okay well I was just making sure. Give ya some warning before you see something you don't want to."
"I live around a bunch of creatures that have never worn a piece of clothing a day in their lives. I'm not worried about it."
"That's true but these guys have everything hidden. Even with whatever you've become, yours is mostly hidden too. But I'm just out here swinging around." Stoicks' voice close to him.
"A visual I did not need." Hiccup peered through the fog and spotted something moving. He reached out and grabbed his father's hairy leg. "Found you." Stoick jumped and turned to face Hiccup.
"Gods above. You're a damn ghost in this fog. You'd think with all that sun you get you'd at least tan up a bit."
"I couldn't even if I tried. My scales are white, I'll always be this white."
"Give a man some warning then."
"Oh just sit down and meet your valiant steed for tomorrow." Stoick sat just within arms reach of Hiccup. "Dad, meet Black, and his Brother, Blue. Black, Blue meet Stoick The Vast." The dragon crept forward and suddenly came face to face with the bearded man.
"Oh, there he is. I found him brother." "Oh, let me see, move." The Seashocker started to thrash about. "Just move I want to look." "Would, you, relax, I haven't gotten a proper look either."
"Both of you need to stop now." Toothless ordered. "There's too many of us in here as it is. You're going to hurt someone. Besides it's not like you can see much in here anyway and you'll see him tomorrow too."
"Fine.""-ine." The pair of heads agreed.
"Now then all we need to do is see where he'll be resting on you. So. Dad? I need you to find and climb onto their back. Let them guide you to where they want you to sit or lay or whatever."
Stoick grunted and stood up again. Hiccup watched Stoick's hazy form carefully walk forward with his hands out.
"Oof." Stoick breathed out suddenly. "Think I found em'." A series of grunts ad splashes followed.
"Everyone alright over there? Hiccup asked. Toothless and the others chuckled.
"Uh yeah, I think I'm where I'm supposed to be?" Stoick responded.
"Well boys is he in the right spot?"
"Yeah." "Close enough."
"Alright then. Tomorrow when you can see each other, we'll set up some signals you can use and hopefully, get this all sorted out. Now then let's enjoy this spring while we can. Black, Blue. If you wish to leave you may, and we'll see you tomorrow morning."
"You wish to leave brother?" "Yeah let's go." "We'll see you in the morning, boss." "See you tomorrow everyone." The pair left just as graceless as they came. Instantly fighting over which way to go.
