"Again!" Warrick shouted.

Jazz got up, covered in dust, he sprinted forward, a cloud of smoke burst from his body, and where Jazz used to be a Kestrel with red feathers and green eyes took off into the air, it flew, higher, higher, and even higher still until it reached the tip of the clouds. Then, just as the bird was about to dive, another cloud of smoke billowed out, revealing a diving bi-plane with red propellers. Along the body of the ship was a realistic painting of Jazz emblazoned on the ship. The bi-plane pulled out of its dive, and while it was 10 feet above the ground another explosion of dust billowed out, and a red-coated stallion leaped to the ground and galloped forward fiercely. Warrick nodded approvingly, the stallion wasn't a simple horse, rather, it had a long horn like a unicorn and a pair of sleek wings that tucked into its sides. Another explosion of dust and the horse was now a car, it was a small 2-door Sedan Style vehicle; it cruised through the landscape at nearly 90 miles per hour. Finally, the car without a driver slowed to a stop, and another explosion of dust billowed out, revealing an exhausted Jazz. Jazz lay sprawled on the floor. His auburn hair was down to his shoulders, and he wore a white martial artist gi, despite his items getting dirty on the ground, he didn't get up.

"…you…you weren't kidding…" Jazz gasped for air. Every time he transformed he felt a slight bit of tension, it was draining just to concentrate enough to imagine a form to take on, let alone taking the form. To make matters worse, items that normally used fuel to run drained his stamina at the same rate at which the item burned fuel. "Raising my stamina doesn't even matter." Jazz shook his head, "it burns calories and energy at the same rate, whether I was an obese diabetic or a Marathon runner."

Warrick nodded, "that is the weakness of transformations. But I must say, outside of that I am proud, this time your transformation has lasted 3 hours at a time."

"Yeah, but the cooldown is longer, 30 minutes instead of 1 minute." Jazz retorted.

"The wait time is relative to the duration, but once you are able to keep transformed for over 24 hours, it means you can use it indefinitely."

"Why 24 hours?" Jazz asked.

"I don't know," Warrick admitted. "Ebi likely should."

"Ebi spent all day showing me how machines worked, how the gears shifted and moved, and had me morph into individual parts of machinery, then into the full thing." Jazz slowly got up. "She's still a little rude, but she's doing her best to teach, I think."

Warrick nodded. "I noticed your forms have improved, Ebi is the best at emulating form out of all of us."

"And you're the best at emulating function." Jazz continued.

"That is true, though I have the advantage in sheer strength, it's difficult to transform into a car if you lack the strength to even bear your own weight."

Jazz nodded, thinking back to Oolong. "Alrighty…" he stretched. "Thank you for today's lesson teacher, also, I do apologize, but I will be a little late for Ebizu's class tomorrow."

Warrick nodded, "You were going to catch up with some old friends, right?"

Jazz nodded, "yup." He looked up at the sky, and at the almost full moon. "It's been a while."

A few minutes after Jazz left, the other teachers approached Warrick. "It's only been a little over 2 weeks…" Jorge, the Kappa, said. "Yet he's already able to transform for 3 hours at a time."

"He is quite skilled," Warrick admitted.

"You're smiling," Pondanuki said dryly.

"Well, yes, purely from a teaching standpoint I am happy to have him as a student."

"Are you beginning to trust him?" Ebi asked suspiciously.

"Please, if I did, I would not have told you all about his trip, or about where he was heading." Warrick turned to the other teachers, who shapeshifted into various flying creatures and machines. "There's much to ascertain from his nature based on his companions if he was even telling the truth."

"What if he wasn't? And this was a trap?" Another teacher asked.

Ebi replied with a grim smile. "I hope it's a trap because this time I'll make sure to finish him off."

Roshi was bored. It had been a month since he began training Goku and Krillin, he was proud of their progress but still annoyed. 'I've not been able to meet any beautiful women!' He thought angrily. He didn't count Launch, not because she wasn't beautiful, in fact, she was pretty in either her blonde or blue-haired form, rather, it was because of how bloodthirsty that blonde form was. 'I think she's remembering all of my… liberties…' the old man sighed in frustration. "I'm still young and hip with the times, I could get jiggy with it with the best of them!" He roared out. "You hear me world?! Master Roshi's still got it!"

"OI SHIT-HEAD! SHUT UP! SOME PEOPLE NEED THEIR SLEEP, I ALREADY HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT CROTCH-GOBLIN MIDGET, I DON'T WANT TO BURY ANOTHER OLD MAN, OLD MAN!"

Roshi hissed in fear. "Oh god…" he scowled, thinking about finding a way to get the kids out of the house so he could get a date. But he couldn't think of anything.

"Hey! Old Man!"

Roshi turned to the voice, seeing one of the farmers he had been having Goku and Krillin help as part of their training. "Ah! How are you doing?" Roshi walked over.

"I'm doing good, a few friends of mine are going to a mixer with the local babes, I heard you're wicked cool at martial arts. Maybe you could join? You'd impress the ladies."

Master Roshi smiled then quickly hid his smirk with a cough, "ahem… a true martial artist must never use his skills to show off, martial arts are for…" he quieted down as the farmer showed him a photo of a beautiful black-haired beauty.

"That's Monica, she just loooves Martial Artists," he emphasized, grinning.

Roshi didn't hide his nosebleed as he grinned right back. "You're right, life's too short to not show off every once in a while. Also, I could definitely bring one or two of them down the path of martial arts!"

"That's the spirit!" The farmer laughed, "ah, but… won't you be training those two young boys?"

"Oh them? Who cares… I'll have a mission ready for them, just be sure to tell me when to come and where! I better not miss this!"

After bidding the farmer a goodbye, Roshi gathered Goku and Krillin, who had been taking the turtle school patented afternoon nap. "Boys." He began seriously, "I think it's time for you both to begin a major part of your training."

The two kids looked at each other with nervous excitement. They had finally fully gotten used to the 20kg turtle shell weights, was it time to upgrade already?

"You have been training the basics, I believe it is important to gain some practical knowledge here and there, and I have a most excellent task for you two." Roshi beckoned them closer, then looked around. "I learned this legend once from the Harrowed Immortal Phoenix. There is a mysterious Island only available on the night of the full moon, in the island lies 5 mountain peaks known as the Devil's Hand, the highest peak holds a castle, within this castle lies a beautiful sleeping princess."

Krillin looked excited at the story while Goku stifled a yawn of boredom.

"But inside this castle, a great and powerful evil lurks, threatening the beautiful princess, and the world at large."

Goku perked up at the word "powerful", and in turn, Krillin's face grew worried.

"Are you sure we should be doing this Master Roshi?" Krillin asked, "it seems awfully dangerous-sounding."

"Oh no!" Roshi was in the middle of spritzing his mouth with mint spray. "I completely have faith in you, besides, the Phoenix was drunk when he told me, so it might be fake. Here's a map." Roshi handed the boys a map to a location in the middle of the ocean not too far from their location.

'How can it be fake but he has a map?' Krillin did his best to hide his worry. "Alright, Master Roshi. We will do our best."

Goku smiled, "this will be cool! Though Grandpa always said not to go out and look at the moon, apparently a big monster comes out at night!"

Roshi nodded absentmindedly. "That's great Goku! Anyways, here's a boat!" He handed them a boat capsule. "Make sure not to come back until tomorrow! Remember, whether you find something or someone or not, I consider you to have passed if you come back tomorrow or later!"

Goku and Krillin nodded and turned to leave.

Roshi watched them leave and grinned. Humming to himself, he got out his white tuxedo and got ready for the group date…

Bulma heard one of her machines beep rapidly as a green warning light flashed. "That's odd…" she muttered, scratching her head as she watched the screen continuously blink.

"What's odd, babe?" Yamcha came over, kissing Bulma on the cheek.

Bulma giggled and hugged her boyfriend. "My dragon radar, the one I gave Goku? It's picking up a weird radiation signature."

"The dragon balls?" Yamcha asked, "but it's only been a month, right?"

Bulma nodded, "yeah, the dragon balls don't emit a signal until 8-9 months, and you can't use them until a year is up… this is weird."

"Maybe Goku discovered something? Perhaps the radar attracted him to the location."

Bulma nodded, "maybe…"

Yamcha looked at Bulma for a few seconds then smiled. "Let's get the plane ready then."

"Huh?" Bulma asked, smiling subconsciously.

"You've been sort of down in the dumps for a while, maybe a reunion would do you good."

"Wow Yamcha! You're thinking of Bulma's feelings!" Puar yelled out.

"You're right, I wanna catch up and see how that kid's doing." Bulma smiled, "okay! Next stop! To Goku and his Dragon Radar!"

Jazz knew the teachers were following him, he picked up ki sensing relatively quickly on planet Namek and had been able to somewhat detect Ebizu's hostility. It was almost surprising how hostile they were to him, regardless, he simply flew forward. He had taken the form of a small private jet, something loud, fast, and stamina-consuming. Luckily, Roshi's training island was closer to the Southern Academy than his home where he kept Kame House. "This is… fight 420 69 J, calling to all units in the air, maiden voyage, living large, bugs are gross, over…" He burst into a fit of giggles at the ridiculousness of the situation. "He turned himself into a plane, funniest shit I've ever seen." Jazz hummed as he neared Kane's temporary home on the large island.

Roshi hummed to himself, he was in a white tuxedo and groomed his beard smartly, he even waxed and polished his forehead to perfection. "I'm gonna have a great date!" He hummed happily, then looked outside when he heard the whooshing of jet engines.

"What the!?" The plane looked like it was crashing towards his home. "Oh no!" He shouted in alarm. Then suddenly, right before his eyes, the plane exploded out into a cloud of dust, revealing a slightly frazzled but very energetic Jazz.

"'Sup Master Roshi!" Jazz announced.

"Ah, you're the young man who sparred with Goku and survived the burning mountain!" Roshi looked happy, "what brings you here?"

Jazz nodded, "I wanted to swing by, say hi to Goku and Krillin."

"Oh? You know Krillin?" Roshi smiled, "I actually just sent the two of them on a mission earlier this afternoon."

"A mission?" Jazz was genuinely confused, he remembered that the original Dragon Ball simply skipped the time Goku and Krillin spent training, so he assumed they would be on the island 24/7. 'Well, my memory might be bad.' "Do you know where they went?"

Roshi nodded, "if I remember correctly, the map I gave them pointed about 20 miles southwest of here. They are looking for the legendary Sleeping Princess, hidden inside the Devil's Castle. It will look like a castle on the top of the highest mountain on a five mountain range."

Jazz nodded. "Thanks, sir, and have a good…" he looked at Roshi, "date I guess?" He ran forward, "I should have about 45 more minutes…" Jazz disappeared in a cloud of white smoke, in his place a black and white duck with a yellow patch of feathers stood in his place. The only sign that it was still Jazz was the mess of red feathers at the top of the duck's head, and its bright green eyes. "Alright! Quack! I'm going!" Jazz jumped forward and upwards, flying at remarkably fast speeds despite his form's tiny wingspan.

"…since when could that boy turn into a plane or duck?" Master Roshi shook his head, watching as 11 other similar-sized birds followed behind Jazz. "He must have made some other bird friends, that's nice…" he returned to prepping himself.

"Old man."

Roshi flinched in fear, trembling, he turned to face the blonde Launch, who had a minigun to his back. "I'm interested in that whole legendary Sleeping Princess, but unfortunately, I think you might be misunderstood about a few things…"

"He's quite proficient," Pondanuki said suddenly.

"I taught him about that, the Eider Duck is the fastest steady flight bird alive, achieving up to 70 miles an hour but being able to migrate for days at a steady 45 mph or above." Ebi smirked pridefully, she was in the form of an Eider Duck as well.

"Oh? Who's turn is it to feel proud?" Warrick smirked, he was a golden eagle, at least, he looked like a Golden Eagle with midnight blue feathers and wolf-like eyes.

"Shut up, I'm just praising him as a student." Ebi frowned. "It's a shame such talent belongs to a piece of garbage like that."

Warrick frowned, he had begun to warm up to Jazz, which was saying something, as he still sensed the Koropokkur and Phoenix within the boy. Perhaps it was because of Jazz's work ethic and eagerness to learn and develop, he felt as if such traits couldn't be found on a truly evil person who would murder others for quick self-improvement. Despite these feelings, he kept his opinion to himself. If he showed too much favor to Jazz, he'd be switched out with another teacher. Though, he partially also didn't want to fully give in to his feelings, lest he be betrayed by emotions and pity.

"Where are we going though?" Pongitsune asked, "Is it towards the Devil's Hand? That's not good if that's the case."

"What's there?" Ebi asked, curious.

"A grim enemy of humans."

"It's not like you all really like people though," Ebi said.

"True, but this one is different, he wants to exterminate all of humanity, and even hates and discriminates against animal people. He even considers some of our fellow monster kin to be too human-like to leave alive or free."

"That's awful!" Ebi growled. "How dare he! We already have so much to deal with, yet he'd turn on his own people?"

"He wouldn't consider most Monster Kin to be his own people." Pondanuki replied, "if it is truly where we are going, we must be extremely careful, given Jazz's flight path, he likely doesn't know exactly where he is going."

"Well, he was asking that old man for directions," Jorge replied.

"That Old Man was Master Muten Roshi," Warrick replied sharply.

"That old Coot is still alive?! He's as strong, if not stronger than you, even when you go werewolf!" Jorge replied with amazement.

"Well, he was once friends with the Immortal Phoenix, and stood by his side as he passed."

They all quietly honored their fallen friend.

"I don't like it here…"

Oolong stared out the window of the plane nervously. The ocean was dark and foreboding, and the sun nearly set. Dark clouds covered the skies and Oolong swore he could see flashes of lightning.

"Oh don't be a baby." Bulma rolled her eyes, "a little lightning won't do anything to the plane."

Puar seemed equally scared, hiding in Yamcha's jacket.

Yamcha patted Puar comfortingly. "We'll be there, it's okay Puar, we'll catch up to Goku."

Puar nodded. "Okay, Yamcha…"

Bulma looked out, "but still, he's moving surprisingly slowly. Her machine tracked the radar, showing that they were maybe 10 miles away. "It should take us about 6 minutes to catch up to the signal."

"I wonder if it's going to be another adventure." Yamcha laughed.

"We've been flying in circles, Goku." Krillin sighed, "it's also getting really dark, it's not worth it, I'm sure Master Roshi will forgive us." Both he and Goku were wearing weighted wrist and ankle braces and had the 20 kg turtle shell backpacks, but Krillin held on to Goku with relative ease, and Goku flew while bearing all the weight without struggling. So Krillin's reasoning was more out of boredom and slight nervous tension.

"It's okay, I sorta feel something," Goku announced, staring at the same patch of dark ocean water.

"I wish I had the same sensitive nose." Krillin muttered tiredly. As the boys flew, the tip of the sunset before the horizon. Just as it did, the ocean began to bubble and froth.

"There!" Goku flew towards the frothing water. An island rose from the ground, with five distinct peaks dotting the center like long, clawed hands preparing to rend the sky in half. In the largest middle finger stood a castle.

"Woah!" Krillin shouted. "Is the legend real!?"

They flew closer down. Unbeknownst to them, several others began to slowly follow behind.

Bulma shouted in alarm as her machine's energy detector started going haywire. Puar was the first to spot the island as it rose up from the sea. "There! I see something!"

Bulma peered over. "Wow… that's really weird…" she flew the plane towards the island. "Wait! I see Goku!" Bulma pointed to the glowing yellow trail of the Flying Nimbus.

"Can't we just say hi to Goku in the morning?" Oolong muttered, "I don't like the look of that island!"

"Don't be a coward Oolong."

"You're one to talk!" Oolong shouted back. Before the two could get into an argument, a bolt of lightning struck the plane, sending the instruments haywire. Before they could say anything, several ugly, squat humanoids with leathery green and grey skin ripped into the plane. They giggled fiercely as they assaulted Yamcha, taking him by surprise.

Bulma screams as Yamcha pushes and punches away as many of the monsters as he could. With the hole in the ship, their plane begins crashing down towards the ground, hard.

"Bulma!" Yamcha shouts.

"YAAAAAMCHAAAA!" Bulma screamed out fearfully. The monsters tore apart the plane, giggling as its occupants began to fall towards the rough ocean below them.

Puar and Oolong turned into bats, and Yamcha had a jetpack capsule. He tried flying towards Bulma, but one of the monsters, a giant and red one, charged towards him while carried by red balls of flame.

"Aah!" Bulma screamed as she hurtled towards the ground, Oolong and Puar attempted to hold on to her, but neither was strong enough to fight against gravity.

1000 feet from the ground, Bulma felt her life flash before her eyes. Closing her eyes, she felt someone touch her back and reach their arms under her armpits.

"Hello, flight 9000 here, would you like air support?"

She turned in surprise at the voice, seeing the familiar red-haired, green-eyed young man who accompanied her on her first adventure. "You bastard!" She screamed, shocking Jazz, who nearly dropped Bulma.

"Oh jeez! Okay! I'm sorry!" Jazz exploded into a cloud of white smoke, transforming into a Jet Pack.

"What the!?" Bulma shouted in shock. They rocketed towards the island, and she watched as the jetpack deployed a parachute and fired off toward the ground, slowing them down rapidly. About a yard or meter from the ground, Jazz's transformation timer ended, and he and Bulma fell on the cold hard ground of the island.

Jazz landed gracefully, Bulma fell hard on her butt. "…You alright Bulma?" Jazz reached his hand over.

Bulma smacked it away. "Asshole! When did you get back? Don't lie!"

"2 weeks and some days ago." Jazz replied.

"Why didn't you come back?!" Bulma looked tearful.

Jazz felt guilt piling up like bile in the pit of his stomach.

"I wasn't able to show you off goddammit!"

That guilt melted away almost as instantly.

"And now you've come back as weirdly as Oolong, waaah!"

Jazz sighed, "…good to see you too, Bulma."

Afterword:

Thank you for bearing with me! And I hope you enjoyed this chapter. As I'm sure some of you may have guessed, I'll be mixing things up a bit and adding movies into the mix, at least, movies that make enough sense to fit in continuity. For those that don't know, basically I'm taking the premise of the movie Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle, this is the second ever Dragon Ball movie, only reason I didn't do the first is cause the first movie: Curse of the Blood Rubies, is just a retelling of the first arc/ hunt for the dragon balls with a new villain replacing the Pilaf Gang. Of course, I am changing a few things up, like the island appearing during the night of a full moon, and other stuff to be discovered as they continue their adventure into the island.

I hope my depictions of the Dragon Ball Cast remains faithful to who they are as characters, and I hope you guys enjoy next series of chapters!

To answer some questions:

Will there be Romance?: Yes probably

Is Jazz going to live long/ unaging because of his wish?: Yesn't

Chi Chi deserves to be given more: I do honestly believe that and will attempt to do her Justice. Toriyama himself stated he's bad at romance and women in general.

Also, I wanted Jazz to be the epitome as a pretty clever but otherwise normal guy. He's slightly above average in sports, but would never make the big leagues even if he practiced daily for hours in preparation, he just lacks that talent. In many ways, I want his overall growing speed to be technically lower than that of the others, even the Saiyans, and have him increase his strength through sheer time and effort.
