At another part of New Orleans, a man named Lawrence was in a hurry, with all the luggage in his arms.

"Excuse me!" he said, passing by those walking in the other direction, when the sound of upbeat music caught his attention.

Noticing a crowd of people, Lawrence went over there and saw...Prince Naveen dancing to the music.

"Sire!" he called, making his way through the crowd. "I've been looking for you everywhere."

"What a coincidence, Lawrence!" said Naveen. "How are you enjoying New Orleans?"

"We're going to be late for the masquerade." Lawrence tried to remind him, only to have Naveen say. "Listen, Lawrence, listen! Oh, ho, ho, it's jazz. Jazz music! It was born here. Is beautiful, no?"

"No." groaned Lawrence.

Naveen tossed his ukulele to a nearby boy, to his delight, and took Lawrence's hand, saying. "Oh, dance with me, fat man."

He dragged Lawrence to the center, saying. "Stay loose, Lawrence!"

"We're supposed to be at the La Bouff estate by now!" reminded Lawrence.

"Yes, yes, yes, but first...I buy everyone here a drink!" Naveen exclaimed to the crowd, who cheered for him.

"With what?" said Lawrence. "At this point, you have two choices, woo and marry a rich young lady or...get a job!"

As Lawrence said this, pointing at a man cleaning up after a nearby horse, Naveen cringed, but conceded. "All right, fine. Right after we dance!"

"No, this is idiocy!" Lawrence protested as Naveen moved him around, saying. "For someone who cannot see his feet, you're very light on them!"

As Naveen let him go, Lawrence stumbled into one of the band player's tuba.

"Is perfect!" laughed Naveen. "You finally got into the music. Do you get my joke? Because your head is...it's in the tuba."

"Get me out!" demanded Lawrence.

"All right, all right. Hold on." Naveen said, grabbing hold of his legs while the band player held onto the tuba, from which Lawrence was pulled out, rolling across the street with Naveen, who just laughed.

"How degrading!" Lawrence said as he adjusted himself. "I've never been so humiliated."

As Naveen did the same, he noticed someone coming up to him and Lawrence.

"Hello." he said...to the same dark-clothed man from Duke's Cafe, who greeted back. "Gentlemen! Enchantè."

He held out his cane, helping Naveen up while saying. "A tip of the hat from the one and only Dr. Facilier. Also known as the Shadow Man."

Dr. Facilier pulled out a card, which Naveen read aloud. "Tarot readings, charms, potions. Dreams made real. Achidanza"

"Were I a betting man, and I'm not, I stay away from games of chance." Dr. Facilier said as he led Naveen down the alley with Lawrence not far behind. "I'd wager I'm in the company of visiting royalty."

"Lawrence. Lawrence! This remarkable gentleman has just read my palm." Naveen said excitedly.

"Or this morning's newspaper." added Lawrence, who noticed the paper tucked inside Dr. Facilier's back pocket.

"Sire!" he whispered, rushing over to Naveen. "This man is obviously a charlatan. I suggest we move on to a less..."

Dr. Facilier frowned at what he was hearing, bellowing in front of Lawrence. "Don't you disrespect me, little man! Don't you derogate or deride.

You're in my world now, not your world
And I got friends on the other side

"He's got friends on the other side!" a bunch of eerie voices echoed once the door to Dr. Facilier's shop opened.

"Nice touch, huh?" Dr. Facilier said as he led Naveen and Lawrence inside. "Just a little something we have here in Louisiana. A little parlor trick. Nothing to worry about.

Sit down at my table
Put your minds at ease
If you relax it'll enable me to do
Anything I please

I can read your future
I can change it 'round some, too
I look deep into your heart and soul
(You do have a soul, don't you, Lawrence?)
Make your wildest dreams come true

I got voodoo, I got hoodoo,
I got things I ain't even tried
And I got friends on the other side

Voodoo Spirits:
He's got friends on the other side

Dr. Facilier:
The cards, the cards, the cards will tell
The past, the present, and the future as well
The cards, the cards, just take three
Take a little trip into your future with me

Once Naveen and Lawrence took their cards, Dr. Facilier spreaded them out, then sang to Naveen.

Dr. Facilier:
Now you, young man, are from across the sea
You come from two long lines of royalty
(I'm a royal myself on my mother's side)
Your lifestyle's high, but your funds are low
You need to marry a lil' hunny whose daddy got dough

"Mom and Dad cut you off, huh, playboy?" he asked Naveen, who shrugged. "Eh, sad but true."

"Now y'all gotta get hitched," Dr Facilier assumed as he reshuffled the cards. "But hitchin' ties you down. You just wanna be free, hop from place to place…but freedom takes green.

It's the green, it's the green
It's the green you need
And when I looked into your future
It's the green that I seen

As Naveen looked at one of his cards, Dr. Facilier turned to Lawrence.

Dr. Facilier:
On you, little man, I don't want to waste much time
You've been pushed 'round all your life
You've been pushed 'round by your mother
Your sister and your brother.
And if you was married you'd be pushed around by your wife
But in your future, for you I see
Is exactly the man you always wanted to be

As Lawrence look at the card, in which he is the prince while Naveen is reduced to being his servant, Dr. Facilier held out his hand to Naveen.

"Shake my hand." he said. "C'mon, fellas. Won't you shake a poor ol' sinner's hand?"

Lawrence looked from his card to Dr. Facilier's hand, which he immediately shook with a greedy smile on his face.

Naveen was hesitant at first, but reluctantly shook Dr. Facilier's other hand.

"Yes!" Dr Facilier grinned evilly as everything around Naveen and Lawrence came to life, from the voodoo dolls to the masks, one of them opening its mouth to reveal a talisman, while two snakes slithered out of nowhere, restraining Naveen.

Dr. Facilier:
Are you ready?

Voodoo Spirits:
Are you ready?

Dr. Facilier:
Are you ready?

Voodoo Spirits:

Dr. Facilier:
Reformation Central

Voodoo Spirits:
Reformation Central

Dr. Facilier:
Transmogrification Central

"Ow!" Naveen groaned as the talisman bit his finger, filling up with his blood.

Dr. Facilier:
Can you feel it?

You're changing, you're changing,
You're changing all right

As Dr. Facilier kept singing, a green glow surrounded Naveen, shrinking him as Lawrence watched in horror.

Dr. Facilier:
I hope you're satisfied
But if you ain't, don't blame me
You can blame my friends on the other side
Ha, ha, ha

Voodoo Spirits:
You got what you wanted
But you lost what you had
Ohh...Hush!
