"What!" Tien's mind reeled in shock. The demon king piccolo was a legendary figure of mythical proportions, a being his master would sometimes talk of when drunk.

"But! Master! What's he doing out here?! Isn't he supposed to be sealed in a rice cooker?!" A Crane disciple asked.

"Shut up! You think I don't know that?!" Shen bit a nail in fear. "What the hell… even I and that bastard Roshi together couldn't beat him… to think he escaped. Only the mafuba would work… but that would kill me!" He mumbled, more to himself than anyone else.

"He doesn't look so tough." A crane school disciple dropped the corpse of a little girl they had just choked to death. A manic look was plastered on his face as he charged forward.

Before anyone could react, the green-skinned man's arm blurred. The Crane School disciple was on the ground, his four limbs were twisted in odd angles and he began to foam in the mouth. The other Crane Students gasped in shock.

"N-no way… that can't be right…."

"What did he do!"

"12 punches, 8 grips, and 7 twists…" Tien muttered, grinning, "my eyes can catch his movements…"

Shen turned to Tien, hope returning to his face, "you can?" He laughed, "that's my top disciple! Alright!" He turned to the other Crane students, "under Tien's lead! Kill him!"

The 200 or so conscious men and women and women of the Crane school gathered together, Chiaotzu raised his hands to use his psychic energy, and Shen cupped his hands together to use the Tri-beam.

"NOOOOO!" Tien shouted, angry.

"W-what?" Shen sputtered, "what is the meaning of your insolence?"

"I will fight him alone master, I can handle his strength."

"You fool, you'll get yourself killed!" Shen raised his hand and turned to Chiaotzu, "use your powers brat! Now!"

"Chiaotzu! Master! If anyone interferes, my pride as a warrior will be compromised and I will have no choice but to wash my neck and allow my life to be at this being's mercy!"

"This 'being' has no honor! He's the demon king!" Shen was practically hopping with rage as he said this.

"Who… what the hell is he?" Shinobu asked cautiously, she had been rescued by the mysterious green man, but she didn't feel any trust for him, while he had paused the slaughter of the Tsukimi, Shen called him the Demon King Piccolo. Everyone knew of the monstrous legend, and his arrival could only spell the end of the earth.

"It… it can't be the Demon King…" Taka began, "he has minions with him, grotesque, demonic like monsters as cruel as he is, he would have ambushed them from the front, and look, he hasn't attacked them yet, he simply stands there, waiting… Is… is it an ambush? An illusion?" He looked on thoughtfully. His attention turned to the corpses strewn about, his eyes darkening with anger, a figure flickered in and out of focus. He blinked in surprise.

"DId… did you see that or am I blind?" Shinobu asked, rubbing her eyes.

"No, I saw it too…" Taka looked around until his eyes finally found their target. A small green being, bearing the features of the supposed demon king, only shrunk down and scaled to the shape of a child, was walking amongst the corpses of his people. He'd see the child lean over a few, place fingers on their neck, hands on their chest, ears near their mouths, then move to the next body. Every once in a while, he'd stop at a body, then his hands would begin to glow, the body would be bathed in a soft, mostly translucent light. Regardless of whether he utilized this odd technique or not, he would move the body further away. Eventually, while the Crane School distracted themselves over the man in front of them, the courtyard was cleared of corpses.

"Who… who is that?"

"Don't worry, I'm a friend." The voice came from behind them.

Taka and Shinobu turned around, eyes widening in shock as they saw the green boy standing over the immaculate body of their friend, Talia.

"Wh-who…" Shinobu stuttered.

"I am surprised she was still alive." The small being, whose voice was like that of a child, smiled, "your friend, alongside many of those brave men and women out there, have the heart of warriors."

"Who are you," Taka asked, wonder on his face, he watched as Talia began to stir, and tears threatened to well up in his eyes.

"Well… I'll tell you at least one secret, we aren't the demon king." The little boy stood up. He wore red, loose-fitting clothes, and a tan robe and cape that covered the red slightly. "And I'll tell you another secret," He smiled, "we're here to help." He looked at the sun, "oh wow… it's already been 10 minutes, I better tell him." He turned to Taka and Shinobu, "you should take your friend and run, I told the others I was able to save to retreat or find the safest place to hide or bunker down. We…" He referred to the tall green being and himself, "will hold off and takedown that bad guy." He turned to run back to the green man.

Taka and Shinobu turned to each other.

"We… you should take Talia." Shinobu began, "I have to bear witness to this fight."

"No… that's not safe, I should stay, take her and live…"

"How about we all watch." Talia slowly got up.

"T-Talia?" Shinobu couldn't stop a grin from hitting her face as she hugged her best friend.

Taka's grin was faint but Talia couldn't help but smirk at the expression. "Amazing, you have an emotion other than scowl, stern, and angry."

"Shut up… now's not the time…" Taka's retort lacked energy.

Talia nodded, "I know, but… that boy and man over there, I feel hope for our people yet now…"

Tien got into a fighting pose. "I hope you will humor me with an honorable match."

The green man got into a pose of his own. "Well, I will most certainly try."

"What should I call you?" Tien watched the green man, his movements were practiced and the pose was quite skillful, but there was a slight awkwardness in his movements, this man was a martial artist, but likely not a master.

"Hahahaha… well, you can call me… Gast." The green man beckoned Tien to begin their exchange. The three-eyed warrior obliged.

Tien began with a rapid series of thrusts, kicks, and punches. Gast replied with multiple one-armed and one-legged blocks. "Come on now!" The green man laughed, "don't tell me this is the best you can do?"

Tien smirked and picked up the pace. Before Gast could react, a fist went flying into his face, smashing and breaking his nose. Purple blood flowed freely, and Tien then continued with a spinning kick, attempting to aim for Gast's neck. Before the kick landed, Gast lowered his body and extended a palm thrust into Tien's stomach, sending the Crane School assassin flying backward, he landed 10 feet away, groaning in pain. Gast wiped the blood from his nose and grinned. "Well, aren't you a quick little bastard?"

"You… you were also holding back." Tien smiled and slowly got up.

Shen looked between the two, shock plastered on his face. His disciple had surpassed himself a while ago, even before drinking the mysterious water the bastard had gifted to them, but he never imagined that his disciple was capable of going toe to toe with the Demon King. "Tien! Kill him! You have the power to do it!"

Tien smiled at his master, "I'm glad you see it now." He charged forward once again.

Gast cracked his knuckles and began his own flurry of strikes. Tien dodged them with expert timing and movement, their strength was almost even, and their speed nearly matched as well, it came to a difference in fighting skill and it seemed that Tien was the superior one. Slowly but surely, the "demon king" was pushed back. Tien grinned, his advantage caused him to become excited, and he fought with even greater strength.

"You're truly an astounding fighter, Demon King!" He shouted, "I believed that the strength I attained from training would make no one capable of fighting me! But there was you! The me of 6 months ago, even after my drastic increase in power would have died. I'm a little sad though, I hoped this fight would have lasted longer, it wasn't even five minutes!" A green fist connected with Tien's jaw, shaking him off balance and throwing him back.

"You talk too much." Gast spit a broken tooth and some purple blood on the ground. "Come on, talk is cheap."

"Tien!" Chiaotzu screamed in concern.

"I'm alright, Chiaotzu," Tien muttered, getting into a pose.

"Awe… you share a bond with that child, how quaint, I'm sure the child you murdered had friends and family too."

"Bastard, a thing like you dare argue morality to us?" Shen roared, but Gast's words shook Tien.

With a shout, Tien charged forward again, he noted in surprise as Gast blocked his haymaker with an outstretched fist. "I will give you one thing though, Tien, I can't hold back against you." Tien moved back, but before he could get far enough, Gast's arm stretched, grabbing the bald man by the neck and throwing him up. Tien caught himself in the air through flight, but couldn't dodge out of the way as Gast sent his knee against the young man's stomach. Gast raised both hands and cupped his fist, smashing Tien down unto the ground with a wild haymaker.

"Tien!" Chiaotzu screamed out.

"Come on now, I thought you were an assassin of the Crane School, is that all? Don't you want to be as strong and scary as that bastard Tao Pai Pai? Merciless and cruel, and a fucking cheater."

"How dar-"

"HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT MASTER TAO!" Tien cut off his master and flew up towards Gast. "HE'S GREATER THAN YOU'LL EVER BE!" He attacked with renewed vigor, raising his arm up to chop down at Gast's sternum. Instead of blocking or ducking, Gast flew over Tien and curled his legs, extending them out to 'stomp' in the air. Both feet connected with Tien's back, careening him into the ground.

"Holy shit, that worked." Gast broke into a grin. He landed, waiting for Tien to get up.

"You...you can fly?" Tien began, gasping for air.

"I can fly." Gast nodded, but, you never asked, so I guess it wasn't something to discuss. Come on though, I hope this isn't all you can do, it's been a while since I've had a real challenge."

Tien screamed out, charging forward. This time, Gast smirked as he easily dodged Tien's feints, flurries, and kicks. "Imp-" Tien was cut off by a fist to the same jaw.

"Don't you dare say impossible, dumbass…" Gast stuck out his tongue. "It's happening right now, and that would be way too cliche." He grabbed Tien before he could fall, and punched him hard in the face again, and again, and again. "Come on now, where's the fight? Where's the high-strung bastard who was just murdering little kids? Huh? I thought you were a merciless assassin? Or, did you realize you're nothing but a cartoonish villain?! Huh?! Answer me? Do you think you know evil? Your bastard of a master is…" Gast's movements slowed slightly.

Tien took advantage of this to punch the man in the throat. As Gast stood there, struggling to breathe, Tien got back and posed his hands. The tips of his index and middle finger met, while his thumbs crossed over each other, giving the gap between his hands a vague diamond shape. "Tri-Beam!" A powerful burst of light emanated from him. The air exploded out from the heat. Tien gasped for air, exhausted and in pain. "You… what…" He turned to look at Chiaotzu, who was bleeding from the nose and ears. "Chiaotzu!" He ran over.

"He held back the demon king from killing you, and held him in place so that you could deal the fatal blow." Shen was frowning, "you are powerful, my student, but if you disobey my orders like that again, I will not hesitate to kill you."

"Master! I had to fight him at full force, honorably!" Tien shouted.

"Why? You are an assassin, are you not?! Didn't I teach you anything? Power above all, win by any means! That was the demon king!"

"But Master!" Tien shouted.

"No, no, there's a slight point to his statement." Those of the Crane School shivered as they heard the voice, turning to look, they saw the demon king, missing the majority of his right arm, but still alive. "Power, while not everything, is certainly something to admire, and in a real fight, winning by any means matters more than something paltry like honor." He smiled as he extended his stump shoulder and a new arm sprouted.

"That… he really is the Demon King!" Shen shouted in fear.

"W-what?" Tien asked.

"He… a power that I distinctly remember the demon king and his minions having was the ability to regenerate limbs. One demon had even grown an entire body back when he was decapitated. We couldn't kill him…" He turned to Chiaotzu. "Use your power to hold him down! Everyone who can! Prepare a Tri-beam! Don Don Ray? whatever! Just kill him!" Shen turned to Chiaotzu, only to pale as the boy collapsed, bleeding from his orifices.

"Chiaotzu!" Tien turned to grab the boy.

"Oof, he's pretty strong, I didn't think I could do it." Tien snapped his head to the new voice and widened his eyes at the appearance of a child with the same alien features as Gast.

"Ah, Poda…" Gast turned to the child, "I'm glad you're fine, did you complete the mission?"\

Poda laughed, "yes, I cleared away the bodies and healed those who still were alive."

"Good, you did good kid, makes your old man proud." Gast's voice cracked as he covered his face, hiding tears."

"Shut up you bastard, you're making me annoyed."

"Hey annoyed, I'm." Gast wasn't able to finish his joke as the child tackled him, disappearing into his body.

"What… what was that?!" Tien asked, "And what did he do to Chiaotzu!? What did you two just do?!"

Gast laughed, "oh, the child will live. As for all of you?" They tensed as the green man's body was wrapped in a silver whirlwind of ki. His appearance hadn't changed, but there seemed to be a difference in the way he carried himself. "Now… how do I want to do this…"

Before anyone could react he was upon them. Tien could only watch in shock as Gast's open palm sent him to the ground. By the time the Crane School assassin got up, several dozen men and women of the Crane School were screaming in pain or unconscious on the floor. Gast rose into the air raising his hands. "Come on then… didn't you say you'd hit me with your best attack? I'm ready!" He laughed, putting his hands on his hips. "If you don't satisfy me with your attack, I'll kill you where you stand!"

Shen shouted, fear filling his face. "Idiots! Use your powers! Now!" of the 400 Crane Students, only 250 survived the first half of their siege into the Tsukimi headquarters. Of those 250, 200 stood capable of attacking Gast. "He took out 50 of us in literal seconds!" Shen couldn't help but feel the fear in his voice, "we can't handle him… we have to destroy him, now… once and for all!" The Crane Students who could use ki techniques numbered only 100, and of them, 25 had died in this invasion, they pointed their fingers or posed hands to the sky, and in unison fired out their signature techniques of the Crane School.

Gast smirked at the display of power before him. He could sense the immense ki brought on by the 75 warriors and Master Shen. "Unfortunately, it isn't enough" Shouting with full force, he bulked up, muscles and veins bulging from the effort. His eyes began to glow blue as he cupped his palms together.

"It… it can't be!" Shen shouted in fear, "how did he learn that technique?!"

"Master?!" Tien asked, shock filling his face, "what are you talking about?!"

Before either of them could continue, Gast formed a concentrated ball of white ki that expanded rapidly as he extended it forward. The technique met the combined blast of the Crane Students, with the two blasts colliding and exploding mid-air. The force of the blast drove the Crane School students into the dirt. Gast stood above them, smirking as he slowly landed on the ground. "Well… that was sad, I was sure you'd be more of a challenge."

Tien grit his teeth, "you're lucky, demon, I didn't attack you with my technique, you would have been overwhelmed otherwise."

"Sure, I certainly believe that could have happened, but it didn't and here we are." Gast stepped forward and charged in before the Crane students could speak or retort.

"RETREAT!" Shen called on his students, and they began to run. Though not before they were surrounded.

Coming from both sides, hundreds of men and women sporting the talismans designating them as Jiangshi rushed the fleeing Crane School.

The martial artists and assassins in training screamed in fear as they were surrounded. The strength of a Jiangshi, if the original was a normal person, was paltry compared to the trained martial artists, but when surrounded by three at a time, all of whom who feared nothing and fought ferociously, even a seasoned veteran would find their lives endangered.

Shen took to the air and began to flee rapidly. Other Crane students, including Tien, who carried the unconscious Chiaotzu, flew up after their master. A few more Crane Students were sniped out of the air, falling into the screaming masses. Gast stared at them flee, then as an afterthought, pointed a finger at Shen, closing one eye and sticking out his tongue in concentration, the green man fired a tiny beam of ki, piercing then cauterizing a hole in the Crane Sage's left hand. Shen screamed but didn't turn around, sweat dripped from his face as he turned tail.

Gast laughed to himself and turned a serious eye to the three who approached him.

The first to step forward was Talia, who bowed. "Thank you… sir, you saved us."

"Oh, there's no need to thank me." Gast smirked, "I was glad to help my friend's people."

"Your friend?" Taka asked, "excuse me, but… who are you re…" He looked up as a jet plane cruised over the air. The plane somehow paused in the air as its turbines turned perpendicular to the ground, keeping it hovering.

"Lady PaoPao!" Shinobu shouted in joy as her lady landed on the ground.

PaoPao wasn't smiling as she surveyed the destruction, but her eyes immediately moved to the green man. "Demon King!" She took out her sword and charged forward.

PaoPao looked at the security footage of her stronghold. The walls had fallen much too soon. "Please… hold on…" She muttered, anger and helplessness clear in her voice.

"Hey, we'll make it," Krillin said comfortingly.

"Yeah, with my ship at full throttle, it will only be another 20 or so minutes." Bulma turned to PaoPao, "besides, your people are tough, that Talia chick is way too scary to die."

PaoPao giggled slightly, "you, you're right…" She had picked Krillin because he was the strongest of Roshi's disciples there, and Bulma was there because she could pilot her airship, which was the fastest piece of machinery PaoPao ever had the pleasure of riding. "Bulma, when this is over, can I contract you to design the machinery and vehicles for my organization? I feel we are due for an upgrade."

"No worries." Bulma laughed.

Unfortunately, the group's optimism was dashed away when they saw the condition of PaoPao's Tsukimi stronghold. Several of the walls were annihilated, and a deep furrow cut a straight line through the stronghold as if a straight attack of some sort annihilated everything in its path. The first thing PaoPao saw, however, was the line of bodies of her men, women, and children arranged behind a building, and the sight of less than 100 Crane Students clashing against over 500 Jiangshi. Her eyes finally rested on her three top advisors, relief filling her as she saw them alive. There was a green figure they were approaching, and her eyes widened.

"Bulma, stop the ship!" Before Bulma could fully slow down, PaoPao leaped from the ship and made her way down. Using the air dance to barely slow her fall, she landed hard on the ground and sprung up, taking out her blade. "Demon King!" She screamed. She knew the Crane School was a school of assassination, which taught them to use any means to win, but did they release the Demon King Piccolo? Only a fool would do that, they would end the world because of this idiocy.

The demon king raised a hand, silver aura wrapped around it, and blocked her sword strike with an open palm.

"Hey… PaoPao, can we stop… I'm sorta tired, and my body's close to breaking down."

PaoPao blinked, "that voice… it cannot be…"

The 'demon king' grinned, and his body exploded into a plume of white dust. Revealing… a Samoyed puppy.

"Oh, shit…" the dog said in a high-pitched voice, "I forgot that this is what I turn into normally, hold on." In another explosion of dust, the puppy disappeared, only to be replaced with Jazz. "Hi-" before Jazz could give his greetings, he was wrapped in a golden light and exploded. Before PaoPao, two identical-looking Jazzes stood up, "ow…" they said in unison, "that hurt…"

"Wait… what?!" PaoPao screamed.

It took the surviving members of the Crane School 8 days to return back to their base. Shen was in the worst mood possible as he gathered his disciples.

"Oh god… the earth is doomed, those idiots, they released the Demon King… we're dead, we used our most powerful techniques, yet the monster did not fall…"

"Master… how was the demon defeated?" Tien asked.

"My great master, Mutato-Sama, he utilized a forbidden technique known as the Mafuba, the Evil Containment Wave. Using it, he sealed the Demon King into a rice cooker. Unfortunately, the technique took his remaining life force. That's when I realized power was more important than anything in the world." Chen gritted his teeth. "We… we will need to rebuild our base of operations." He turned to his other students. "Once we arrive we will collect all of our scrolls and techniques, the Crane School will rise again one day, and I'll take vengeance for my brother…"

Shen lead his men into their secret home, only to cry out in shock. The Crane School was on fire.

"No! Someone put out the fire!" Crane students, despite their exhaustion, leapt into action.

Despite himself, Tien felt his body run as he made his way to the prison, Shen was quickly trailing behind him, and they arrived down to the prison.

"No! You!" Shen pointed a trembling finger forward. At the far end of the room, Jazz sat, still strapped to the cords. But sitting across from the red-haired boy was Jazz, again. This second Jazz was cutting into a large, succulent looking ham, and feeding the slices to the trapped Jazz.

"Hey man, it's good to see you again." Jazz smirked, "I thought you'd miss the barbecue."
