"It's good to see you too, Dealla." Jazz sat down gingerly on the couch across from the noble werewolf-pure-blood.
She looked at him with piercing blue eyes. "So, how's my ward doing? I heard from Bulma that you got into a spot of trouble over the past year and sort of… went crazy?"
Jazz closed his eyes, slightly embarrassed. "I wouldn't exactly describe it like that. But that can be used to describe it." His time when he split in 4 to train was a relatively odd time, one he wished to mostly forget.
"Oh well, you have to understand, I was quite surprised, hearing about all your escapades from that friend of yours, Bulma." She chuckled.
"Can we please change the topic? What did you want to talk to me about?"
"Well…" Dealla began, grinning, "I wanted to see if you'd be up for visiting your old school?"
"The Southern Transformation School?" Jazz asked, incredulous, "I don't know if they want to see me again."
"Pshaw, they'd love to see you, and I think Pongitsune would have some information about your little friend."
Before Jazz could say anything, Z popped up in a cloud of smoke, "Something about me?!" She was surprised, even the namekian book of legends didn't give enough information about her origins.
"Yes, Pongitsune is a descendent of Annin, the Keeper of the Furnace of Eight Divisions."
Jazz raised an eyebrow, he'd never heard that name before. "...And, what about this Annin person makes him…"
"Her, actually." Dealla corrected.
"Sorry, makes her relevant to Z's plight?"
"Well, she is a gatekeeper, assigned to Earth, guardian of the door between the living and the after-life, and is King Yemma's top disciple."
Jazz blinked a few times, and Z seemed to tremble excitedly. "Oh, King Yemma, huh… alright, let's go then."
"Just like that?" Dealla asked, "no more convincing?"
"Just like that, unless you want me to change my mind."
…
Jazz and Goku stood in a clear field. It had been another month since the Demon King Piccolo incident. Kami reported that the egg that housed Piccolo's son and reincarnation for some reason had yet to hatch. While Dealla had said Jazz should come to the Southern Transformation school, she had told him to hold off until he was completely healthy, so he had waited for a month, in that month's time, he rested, recuperated, and trained until he felt like he was on the top for once again. His regeneration and stamina restoration had also begun to show signs of increase, a sign that the phoenix's powers were close to fully becoming his.
Since he was feeling top form, he asked Goku for a spar, to see where he stood against his friend, and to see what he might need to improve. Gorillan, the fusion of Goku and Krillin, had received a Zenkai boost against the saiyan world-jumper, the term Jazz used for those who like him may have come from his Earth. The boost in power translated to both Goku and Krillin, who both received about a 10% increase in power. Goku went from 802 to 883, And Krillin from 790 to 871. Jazz hadn't let his suspicions about the world-jumper be known to anyone save Kami, who had assured that he would keep the capsule from opening.
"Are you ready?" Goku began, smiling cheekily.
"Sure." Jazz responded cooly. Like their fight 3 years ago, Goku blitzed forward, attempting to knock out Jazz in a single blow. The air billowed fiercely as they clashed, Jazz was being pushed back, but he had been fast enough to catch Goku's fist, and strong enough to keep from crumbling under the force of Goku's blow. Goku's power began to skyrocket as his eyes gleamed gold, causing Jazz to smirk as his pupils became slit-like as a predatory animal and white fur sprouted from his body. Both their auras, Goku's bluish-white flames, and Jazz's silver whirlwind, crashed into each other, blowing away the grass that surrounded them and forcing away even the heaviest of stones within 50 feet through the force of their ki itself. They let go of each other.
"Wow… I'm using my technique, but now it feels like you're even closer to me than before!" Goku said.
Jazz nodded, "I bet it does." He charged forward, then disappeared to Goku's right. Goku blocked to his left, throwing Jazz off balance. "Smart!" He liked that Goku predicted his feint attack. He disappeared from view, causing Goku to look around, confused.
"Hey, where ar-" Goku was cut off by a heavy smack to the back of the head, followed by a flurry of attacks. Goku tried to leap out of the way, but Jazz stepped on his tail, holding him in place and bringing his fists up for a wild haymaker. The tail wrapped onto Jazz's leg, throwing him off balance. Goku pushed up from the ground and headbutted Jazz, breaking his nose and cracking his jaw with the force of the attack. Jazz saw stars as Goku struck him with three roundhouse kicks and a head butt. As Jazz fell over, flames burst from his body, knocking Goku back and singing his skin.
"Owch! Not fair!" The tailed boy groaned.
Jazz raised an eyebrow, "no fair?" He laughed, his flames and regeneration fixing his body as he got up. "I'll show you no far." A golden staff formed in his hand as ki traced the runes of a talisman magic boost on his forehead. Goku laughed as his hair stood on end and he bulked up slightly. Perhaps due to his young-child-like body, despite being 16, Goku only got up to Jazz's chest, even after the bulk up caused by Wrathful Stage 2. "If you really want to see no fair." Jazz twirled the staff. "Come at me with everything you've got!"
Goku took out his bo-staff and the Power Pole and Ryu Ruyi Jingu Bang clashed. Jazz started with a standard thrust which Goku batted away, swinging his weapon towards the young adult in a combination deflect-attack sweep. Jazz short-hopped over Goku's attack and swung his deflected staff the other way, aiming to catch Goku in the jaw. Goku flipped back once, then twice, then three times over when he noticed Ruyi Jingu Bang slam into the ground where his head used to be. "Wow! It's just like my power pole!" Goku raised his pole in the air and swung down at full height.
"Not exactly." Jazz set his staff on the ground, which expanded both in length and girth until it resembled one of the massive support columns of the roman colosseum. The staff clashed against Goku's power pole, the force of the impact causing the earth beneath Jazz to crater and crack. Jazz's eyes gleamed in an ominous blue light as they sailed up and smashed into Goku.
The first few rocks, despite their size and speed, merely smacked against the sayain's skin with the equivalent pain of pinpricks. Jazz smirked as he grabbed a rock and threw it with all his might. The rock struck Goku in the stomach, winding the boy. "What the?!" He shouted.
Jazz shrunk and twirl Ruyi Jingu Bang as a silver aura wrapped around the rocks. The red-head leaped into the air, staff swinging as the rocks chased after Goku like heat-seeking missiles. Every other rock would hurt Goku when they impacted, causing him to bruise and bleed in various areas, eventually, one stone struck his knuckles in the left hand. Goku let go of the staff on reflex and Jazz knocked it away before pointing his own staff at Goku. "Extend! Retract! Shrink! Extend! Expand! Retract!" Jazz's pole smacked Goku in the face, smashing him into the ground, Jazz then let the pole carry him 500 feet into the air from its extension before retracting it, he then thinned the pole, making it thinner than the deadliest of spear points before piercing it into the ground next to Goku like a knife through butter. The staff then expanded, locking its tip in place and anchoring it to the ground. When Jazz commanded the staff to retract one last time, it pulled him downwards as opposed to the staff's other end. An aura of flame wrapped around him, followed by electricity pulsing in his fists. "Burning Thundershock Meteor!" He converted part of his ki into millions of volts of ki, courtesy of the thundershock surprise technique, then imbued his now electrically charged arm with flames and ki as he prepared a variant of his Marshmallow Meteor. Goku got up quickly, his gold eyes flashing with excitement as he leaped forward and charged up an attack in the palm of his hand. Jazz felt the imposing aura of the great ape manifesting around Goku and Goku saw the aura of a silver wolf and scarlet phoenix wrapping around Jazz as the two warriors prepared to clash their attacks together. Seconds before their attacks met, Jazz's body transformed, taking on a metallic sheen as his body war replaced with steel thickness, the imbued ki, magic, and energy that suffused his body, mixed with his added toughness, clashed with Goku's superior body and the two of them were engulfed in a blast of energy. Ruyi Jingu Bang shattered from the impact, its shrapnel flying dozens of yards, a few pieces cutting Jazz and Goku across their bodies and creating fine lines. Even before they fell, Goku tackled Jazz and threw forth a series of devastating blows, which Jazz could only react to by blocking and protecting his vitals.
Sledgehammer-like fists and knife-like kicks rained down on Jazz's bruised body, with Goku shouting with exertion as he threw everything he had into these last few attacks, just as they reached the ground, Jazz screamed out. "Expand!" one of the broken pieces of Ruyi Jingu Bang, stuck on Goku's skin, expanded out and buried itself into the ground, it threw the boy off balance for half a second, allowing Jazz to throw fire and wind enhanced fists into the boy's jaw. Goku flipped in the air from the force of the attack, but Jazz wasn't done. He crouched low, threw his arms in a variant tiger stance, and then charged forward. "Wolf Fang Fist!" He struck Goku with a flurry of rapid fists that got faster and faster as he worked his arms like pistons, he screamed out in pain as his brain's limiters on his body were overridden and his muscles began to tear and bones began to fracture, but he moved faster, faster, and faster still, before finally kicking forward and striking with enough force to shatter his shin bones and send Goku careening into a nearby hill. Immediately he did that, Jazz fell to his knees, flames surrounding his body as he began to rapidly heal himself.
Goku crawled out of the destroyed hill, he was bruised everywhere and in awful shape, but a fresh grin stained his face. Jazz felt chills crawl up his spine as Goku moved towards him. He noticed that the boy began moving faster, and faster, and even faster until he went into a dead sprint. Jazz felt Goku's power level, it had dropped quite a bit, he was almost out of juice, but he was still kicking. The shattered bits of Jazz's staff dissolved in the wind as Jazz materialized a second one. "Expand!" A pillar the size of a mountain appeared between them. Jazz watched as Goku punched through the pillar, nearly shattering Jazz's jaw before finally dropping to the floor, exhausted. The staff disintegrated again, and Jazz used his telekinesis to catch Goku before he fell. He set the boy down and took out a senzu bean for each of them. After applying his healing flames and a senzu bean, he and Goku were in top shape, as if the destroyed hillside that was their battle was but a lie.
"Wow…" Goku said, sighing, "you're really strong now Jazz, wanna fight again?"
"What the fuck?!" Jazz said, backing up, "are you crazy?! You wanna go through that again?!" He had felt Goku's power level increase from that fight, not by much a whole much due to Jazz technically having a lower power level, but enough that the next fight would require Jazz to fight as if he wanted to kill to even have a chance at winning the battle, and Jazz didn't want to risk overdoing it. "No Goku, I don't want to fight right now, I'm tired, and Dealla said I have to go to the Southern Transformation School.
"But you already waited a whole month, you can wait some more!" Goku said, grinning, "let's fight again!"
"If I didn't know you better, I'd say you were a sore loser." Jazz growled.
Goku just cocked his head, "but I'm not sore at all? The Senzu bean healed me."
Jazz tried to change topics. "Oh yeah, Chi-Chi wanted to talk to you about something when the tournament ended.
Goku frowned, "she decided she didn't want to talk about it." He huffed, "she said since we didn't finish the tournament, she couldn't say what it was about." He shook his head, "she's weird sometimes, but unlike you, she never turns down a spar, so come on!"
Jazz paled, realizing that by beating Goku in the way that he had won, the human had become an obsession of sorts for the young saiyan boy. "Look, Goku, the next tournament is in 3 years. Next time we fight, I'll go all out, okay?"
Goku grinned excitedly. "You won't hold back? Nothing at all?"
"I won't…" Jazz said, almost ominously.
At the same time, the fight had been displayed to excited Tsukimi warriors, many of whom were interested in one day being capable of fighting at such a level. There were a few people of Grood Kingdom as well, most of those people were more frightened than excited about such power, but even then, the majority simply felt grateful that it was people with such power tasked with protecting them from the demons. Lapis and Lazuli, who PaoPao had allowed to remain after they begged to hang out with Jazz, pumped up their fists in excitement over the fight. They were used to Jazz suffering horrible damage due to his regeneration, it seemed to be his style of fighting to risk his body against the enemies' attacks.
One person however did not look at the fight with fear, excitement, joy, or any such emotion. Instead, they felt jealousy and a deep-rooted anger. The teen stared at Jazz's face with his blue eyes, his freckled face trembling in fury. "...Jazz…" Bart muttered venomously.
…
(4 years 4 months ago)
Bart had been shocked when he first appeared in the Grood Kingdom. He didn't know where in the dragon world he was, but he knew that he had made it. Something in him told him that he finally reached the world, where his dreams would come true. All he needed to do was find out where West City was, find his way to Capsule Corp, and schmooze his way into Bulma's good graces. Then he nabs the dragon balls and gets immortality. Then next time, he'd turn into a saiyan, then next time, he gets Frieza's potential, the possibilities were endless with the power of the wish-granting orbs, he didn't care what kind of future he'd create, he'd be at the forefront of the world of dragon ball, everyone would look up to him, he'd be the hero, he'd be the one to admire, he'd be the one on top.
He then had a splitting headache and lost consciousness.
Bart had woken up in a cell. He looked around, it was dark and musty, then an uncomfortably bright floodlight flashed on his face.
"Which kingdom do you work for?"
"What?" Bart asked, confused. Whoever was interrogating him was clearly displeased with his answer, because a knife pierced his palm, which caused him to scream.
"If you continue screaming, I'll slit your throat." The voice growled, causing Bart to whimper in fear. "What kingdom do you work for?" The voice said again, calmly.
"I… I don't know what you're talking about." Bart said through choked sobs, "please, believe me, I don't know what you're talking about." Another knife was jabbed into his knee, popping the joint. He screamed in pain, tears falling freely and snot falling. "PLEASE! I'M NOT LYING, I'M NOT, I'M NOT, IM NOT IMNOT IMNOTIMNOT!" Another soldier smacked him hard in the face, knocking him out.
Bart awoke, dressed in rags and robbed of everything he had on him when he jumped to this world.
"I… I fucked up…" He mumbled to himself as he lay in his dark, musty cot. "I read the email though, it told me to sign up someone who'd be suitable, someone who would either not be missed, or someone whose family was too fucked to find. But… they took me too, and they, they didn't send me to the world of Dragon Ball Z, no… they lied! I've been trafficked. Jazz is probably somewhere getting his guts rearranged and organs harvested, and now the same shit will happen to me, I fucked up…" He whispered to himself. He heard murmuring outside his door and crawled over.
"Look… I told you, I don't think he knows anything, he's probably a red herring, they send an obvious idiot like him, then the real spies act with no one the wiser. I bet you if we asked him who King Furry was, all he'd do is blink like an idiot."
"Well, I'm telling you I don't care, we're not going to give this guy a possible weapon and have him mine for the most valuable resource of our kingdom!"
"Yeah well, we're still searching for anyone who'd buy him, but I don't want to have to spend money on food and clothing that he won't be worth if it ends up that he's a waste of time."
"Didn't you see his clothes? They were high quality, he's definitely a nobble or some politician's brat that decided to try and play the hero."
"Are you sure he's not on the Grood Kingdom Registry?"
"We quadruple checked, either someone hid their child's birth, or he's from out of our island, either way, stupidity was involved."
"What if we feed him to King Gurumes?"
"He can tell when we do that, the last guard who went that far ended up in the king's belly too."
"Then let's shut him up."
…
Bart shut his eyes, wrenching his mind away from those memories. While he suffered in this hell-hole, Jazz was having a blast, getting stronger, and stronger, and despite being a shitty human, it looked like he had some powers, powers capable of keeping him on par with Goku. This filled Bart with a sense of loathing he had never felt before. Thoughts of his betrayal of Jazz were nothing when compared to the anger he felt looking at Jazz. Jazz and Goku flew off-screen and eventually reached the base. Bart hobbled over to his cleaning station as a 'citizen of the once-great Grood Kingdom' he had volunteered to help the soldiers. But it was mainly to get away from the dreary atmosphere around him. He cared little for the kingdom and hated the dead king with a passion.
As a plus, most of the top leaders of the organization that called themselves Tsukimi were hot women, and more than a few smiled at and spoke to him, he was short, had large eyes, and relatively long hair. That coupled with the glasses and freckles inspired an almost protective instinct in the girls, the nicest one was a chick named Abigail, who sometimes handed out snacks to the cleaning crew and gave him an extra cookie. Bart liked being in the cleaning crew. Cleaning the bathrooms sucked, especially for grown men and women who put hygiene below survival, but it was easy to overhear people talk and whisper and spread rumors. One would be surprised to hear the kind of shit, pun intended, people would talk about in front of the garbage boy or toilet bowl cleaner. All the dirty little secrets and desires everyone kept squirreled away. It was through this that he learned that Jazz had been in a relationship with the leader of the group and that they had been on a "break", or something similar. Bart thought it served Jazz to screw up a relationship like that, the spazz always overthought things, no matter how often he warned him, even during that fight he could barely make out, he noticed Jazz spacing out again and again and getting punished for it. He suppressed his darkening emotions and returned back to working, almost missing as he saw Yamcha walk past him.
Perhaps because it was no longer the world of 2D, he barely recognized the man, as he didn't have a hairstyle that matched either his longer style as a bandit. Bart though recognized the Orange and Blue gi of the turtle school, that fact, mixed with seeing scars on the man's face let Bart recognize him as Yamcha. "Oh, you're Yamcha." He muttered.
"Huh?" The former bandit turned, he eyed Bart up and down, "what's it to ya?"
Bart froze for half a second before smiling, "I heard about how strong you are from the soldiers, a lot of them say they wanna be just like you."
"Really? I don't ever hear them say that." Yamcha narrowed his eyes.
"That's because they're too embarrassed to talk around you," Bart said.
"And you aren't embarrassed?" Yamcha asked.
"I mean… you're pretty cool-looking and all, but I've only heard of you from those guys. Is it true you took out 10 demon clansmen in one on one combat?"
Yamcha relaxed slightly, though remained wary as he spoke, "yeah."
"Cool!" Bart feigned excitement as he attempted to ascertain more information, before he could get any more words out, Yamcha, turned around.
"Sorry, I'd have more time later, but I'm busy." He turned to leave.
Bart smiled, "Oh? Okay! Sorry for bothering you, Lord Yamcha!" Inside, he was seething, 'What's his deal?! I'm doing my best here and he just ignored me?! Just cause I'm a garbage boy, right? That judgemental asshole, no wonder Bulma dumps his sorry ass…'
Yamcha, on the other hand, walked away with a frown on his face. His training and fighting style infused him with enhanced senses, enough that he could vaguely smell emotions coming off a person. That Bart kid was weird, really weird, even if he tried to come off as friendly. He mostly chalked it up to having to deal with the stress of the kingdom being destroyed, but at the same time, no one else had such an odd smell about them. Whatever the smell was, he didn't like it, so he kept his distance, even if Bart's words would have normally pleased him. He made his way over to a lounge, where he spotted the person he wanted to talk to.
Dealla was sipping beaten coffee. It was created by mixing instant coffee with sugar thoroughly while pouring boiling milk and adding an ice-cold cream at the end to finish it out. It was a sugary concoction that would put off all but the greatest of sweet tooths. The scar-faced fighter winced as he saw her take another huge gulp of the monstrosity of a coffee before her.
"Oh, it's you again," Dealla said, turning to look at Yamcha.
"I'm sure you know why I'm here." Yamcha began.
"And I'm sure you've heard my answer dozens of times, I don't want to." Dealla said, "I had my hands full just justifying Jazz's conversion, I don't need to deal with another headache."
"And who's a headache?" Jazz appeared in a flash, in the form of a quadrupedal fluffy white wolf-dog.
"You, you annoying git. Though I was impressed with what you did, your last tournament inspired Warrick and me to train a bit, but you're way stronger than before, it's not fair." Dealla smirked, "but… I'm guessing you're in tip-top shape now?"
Jazz nodded, "yeah, I'm good now." He stretched, "So, can we go?"
"Of course." Dealla smiled. "You know where the school is, right?"
Jazz nodded, the two of them stood, staring at each other for a few seconds. "So, when do we leave?"
"We can leave right now," Dealla said. A minute passed as they sat quietly, Dealla took a sip from her coffee, not at all looking ready to lead the group out.
"Shouldn't I follow you to your plane or car?" Jazz asked, patience wearing thin.
"Nope, you're a student of the transformation school, so we'll go there the transformation style."
"Wow… is that why you said I should recover, so you'd have a pack mule?"
"Hey!" Dealla said indignantly, "You're not a pack mule! You're a prize pony! Now get galloping!"
…
"Wow… so this is the mystical school Puar went to." Yamcha began, awe in his voice.
"Yup!" Puar floated around proudly as he took in the nostalgia that filled him as he observed the swaying trees, leaves red and orange like autumn all year round.
"Why did you let Yamcha come?" Dealla muttered, annoyed.
"Because I'm the driver, so I can pick my passengers for this free ride. And Puar is an alumnus from this school, making him my senior, it'd be rude for a junior not to invite his senior. And Puar wanted Yamcha to come, and Yamcha being here annoys you."
"How rude." Dealla sighed. "You'll disappoint everyone y'know."
Dealla was very much wrong, as Pongitsune's joy in meeting her favorite student once again more than made up for any tension that was born in seeing another human in their secret sanctum.
"When you told me I'd be expecting some former students I hadn't seen in years, I was worried you were talking about that pervert Oolong!" She giggled as she and Puar rubbed cheeks. "It's also good to see you Jazz, Ebizu said you did rather well in the Tenkaichi Budokai 3 years ago, and she was disappointed when you had to leave early."
"Pft.." The water woman snorted, "I merely thought it was a shame I didn't get to see Goku knock your lights out this time around."
Jazz grinned, "really? Would you like the chance to do it?" He extended his hands, "I won't use my ki, promise."
Ebizu snorted, but before anyone could say anything, a spherical ball of water launched forward, smashing into a stalagmite of ice that suddenly materialized at Jazz's feet. He looked at Ebizu, wide-eyed and open-mouthed. "Oh my goodness! Wow! My goodness, you really tried to attack me! It's so sad, I'm 19, so I'm no longer a minor…"
Ebizu's water turned a shade of bright pink as she prepared to fire off several spouts of boiling water.
"Hey… he's just riling you up," Warrick muttered. Jazz noticed that the silver-haired man was covered in a few scars and light scratches.
"You look like you've been through something." Jazz said, raising an eyebrow.
"I've been training quite a bit." Warrick growled, smirking, "but I feel a little inferior when I look at you humans." He looked over at Yamcha, who was busy getting drinks and food for Dealla in an attempt to get her to give him items.
"Hey…" Jazz began, "I've been wondering, why do you call me a human, I'd think I'd also be a noble werewolf like you and Dealla?"
"Just because you were given the ability, doesn't necessarily make you one of us, there are things you must do to earn the right to be called a noble werewolf, and until then, you can never unleash your true potential and become an adult."
"That sounds a bit different." Jazz replied cooly, "I thought you said it took a while to mature."
"Well, yes and no," Warrick admitted.
"For normal people, it simply takes time, but for someone like you, who's a dangerous hodgepodge of so many different things, the entire experience is muddled."
"That seems troublesome." Jazz replied.
"Well, that's where I come in," Pongitsune said, smiling, Annin-sama is one of my ancestors, and the reason why Frying Pan Mountain was set on fire.
"Hmm?" Jazz asked, confused.
"The furnace of 8 divisions exists in parallel to the mountain and guards the gate to the other world. Annum sensed rising demonic activity and wanted to block demons from coming to Earth."
"Do you mean Lucifer? Cause she was like several months ahead of the curve and not even targeting the right place." Jazz replied.
"She came to realize that, and wanted to thank the person who stopped the rampage of Lucifer, as well as who halted the rise of Demon King Piccolo and the coming of his second."
Jazz raised an eyebrow, "prevented the coming of his second?"
"The demon king attempted to reincarnate into a new form, but his soul still exists in his original body, for this reason, the egg will take long to hatch, and will lack the majority of his father's memories, and will be quite weak in comparison to his father at birth," Pongitsune said, smiling
"Ah…" Jazz nodded.
"You don't seem happy." She said, confused.
"No! No, I'm happy, I guess… I'm just surprised."
"Pft… you might fuck up Piccolo's development, and you like his character, don't you?" Z whispered in the back of his head.
Jazz sat down, ignoring her goading. "Alright, so you want me to speak to this Annin person, and I have to 'unlock' the adult stage of the werewolf to be considered one, what do I have to do?"

Afterword:
Jazz has truly shaped up into being a powerhouse, His power level is also "OVER 9000!" (using transformations) But it's been over that for a month at least lol.
Goku has a higher power level (13,200 using Wrathful Stage 2), but the difference isn't that huge, about 3.7%, Jazz, much like Master Roshi, has a ton of useful skills he can throw out into the battle now, and ultimately, even if Goku could power through them, there is always the fusion dance, of course, after that battle, Goku's power level leaped up from 882 to 950, courtesy of Zenkai Boosts.
