Lucifer was excitedly getting ready for his date with Alastor. They hadn't had a chance to spend much time together lately, Alastor kept disappearing off for weeks at a time lately. It worried Lucifer but when he tried to ask Alastor would clam up and not tell him anything. Lucifer loved spending time with Charlie and his newfound friends, but he missed Alastor a lot.
Lucifer made his way down the stairs to the lobby where he was meeting Alastor. He wasn't there yet but Lucifer was sure he would be there soon, he would have texted him if he couldn't make it. Unfortunately, one of the new residents, a moth demon who never seemed to understand boundaries had come over to talk to him.
Jackson claimed to want to redeem himself, but he only seemed interested in taking any opportunity to touch Lucifer no matter how many times Lucifer tried to ask him to stop. Lucifer tried to back away, but Jackson kept moving uncomfortably close to him and wouldn't let go of his wrist.
After 30 minutes passed Lucifer was worried Alastor wasn't coming and was trying to think of a way to get away from Jackson but thankfully Alastor appeared. He seemed to sense Lucifer's discomfort and stepped between him and Jackson.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but we need to be going", Alastor said in a way that sounded polite, but his glare was intimidating enough to make Jackson scurry away.
Lucifer sighed in relief, "Thank you Al".
"It's my pleasure, I'm sorry I was late I had someone I had to deal with", Alastor said as his hands curled into fists.
"Don't worry it's okay", Lucifer said, though he was a little hurt that Alastor hadn't let him know he was going to be late.
"Do you have to deal with that kind of harassment often?" Alastor asked in concern.
Lucifer shrugged trying to appear nonchalant, "Yeah unfortunately being the King of Hell means everyone knows who I am, and they often try to make me go out with them. I guess I'm used to it by now".
Lucifer hated the fame and attention his position granted him. He would much rather have none of the fame so he wouldn't have to deal with harassment all the time. He had recently become closer with Angel because of it. Angel had seen Jackson harassing him and had saved him.
Since then, Angel looked out for him and he did the same knowing Angel went through his own harassment. The constant attention from everyone was one of the reasons Lucifer had shut himself away before he came to the hotel, he couldn't bear so many people touching him and not caring about his consent.
"You shouldn't have to be used to it", Alastor said.
Alastor hated that Luci had to go through this, how many years had he suffered alone? Alastor vowed he would protect him from any unwanted attention. Alastor secretly tried to think of a way to get Jackson out of the hotel, he wouldn't allow him to hurt his angel.
"It's okay Al, let's just go I don't want our night to be ruined by Jackson", Lucifer said trying to put on a brave face hoping that Alastor wouldn't see through it.
Lucifer was glad that Alastor seemed to let it go, Lucifer smiled when Alastor opened the door for him. Alastor would never admit it, but he was a gentleman deep down and could be surprisingly romantic. They made their way to their favourite restaurant it was their favourite as it was the one they had their first date at.
Once they sat down and ordered they talked, and Lucifer could almost pretend everything was perfect. He still wanted to know where Alastor disappeared off to but he didn't want to push him and he wanted to have a wonderful night with his boyfriend.
Unfortunately, Lucifer's good mood evaporated when they were approached by Valentino. Lucifer knew exactly who he was as Angel had told him what he was really like. Charlie had also told him and Vaggie about Valentino licking her arm, he and Vaggie had been so furious that Alastor had to put a shield around them to stop them trying to kill Valentino.
Lucifer's hands clenched into fists at the sight of Valentino smirking at him. He wanted to punch his face, but Alastor gently took his hand.
"I understand you're angry Luci but please don't fight him right now, it will draw unwanted attention to you and Charlie".
Lucifer reluctantly did as Alastor said, he knew he was right. Charlie was working so hard on the hotel, and it had gotten so much good press that if he started a fight it would ruin the hotel's reputation and all her work.
"Hello, Your Majesty" Valentino purred and he took Lucifer's hand from Alastor and kissed it deeply. "I had the pleasure of meeting your daughter and I can certainly see where she gets her looks from".
Lucifer yanked his hand away feeling uncomfortable, "Stay away from Charlie", Lucifer growled.
Valentino chuckled unfazed by Lucifer's anger, "Don't worry about that, I'm more interested in you now. How would you like to work for me? You would be a great hit everyone would love you".
Lucifer wanted to get out of his seat to get away, but Valentino had crowded him in, their table was next to the wall and Valentino was deliberately holding his chair to stop him escaping. Lucifer was starting to panic; Valentino was getting closer and cupped his face in a hard grip and he kissed Lucifer ignoring him trying to push him away.
Valentino was suddenly pulled away from him and Alastor was standing protectively in front of him. Lucifer tried to get his breath back, but he was hyperventilating.
"Leave right now and maybe I will let you live", Alastor said his voice crackling in his anger.
Valentino looked around and saw that everyone was staring at him in anger, Lucifer was more loved by his people than even he realized. Valentino wasn't afraid but he didn't want to get beaten up, so he reluctantly decided to leave.
"Fine I'll go but this isn't over".
When Valentino left Alastor turned to his love who was still struggling to breathe. Alastor gently put his hand on his shoulder.
"Luci it's okay he's gone you're safe now I won't let him hurt you", Alastor said.
After a few minutes Lucifer's breathing slowed down and Alastor was relieved when Lucifer looked at him.
"He's really gone?" Lucifer said so softly that Alastor would have missed it if his full attention wasn't on his lover.
"Yes, Valentino has gone. I understand if you want to go home".
Lucifer looked around and noticed that everyone was staring at him, some with concern others with pity. He hated the attention, but he didn't want to seem weak in front of them.
"It's okay, can we stay?"
"Of course, we can if you're sure?"
Lucifer nodded wanting to pretend the encounter with Valentino hadn't happened.
"Luci is it okay if I hug you?" Alastor asked.
Lucifer smiled and threw himself at Alastor who gladly hugged him back. Lucifer didn't care they were being stared at; their relationship wasn't a secret. It was hard to keep secrets when they were both famous.
Despite the interruption Lucifer still managed to have a wonderful evening with his boyfriend. He was so glad that Alastor was there with him, if he had been alone, he would not have been able to stop thinking about Valentino forcibly kissing him. It worried Lucifer that Valentino wanted him now.
Lucifer would rather Valentino want him than his daughter, but he was afraid that Valentino would try to come after him again. Lucifer tried to put it out of his mind and focus on Alastor.
