PaoPao looked pensive as Jazz's golden flames wrapped around Talia's body. The bruises and cuts began to disappear as the magic did its work.
"She'll be okay, mostly." Jazz said. "I fixed up her body, but she'll need a lot of rest." He turned to PaoPao and began to speak gently. "Did you leave the seal on her?"
PaoPao swallowed her tears, "...it is a last resort, if I or Abigail or any other witch is out of commission, a warrior can access this power, at the exchange for a great risk to their body, a risk we'd normally incur and overcome." She clenched her fists. "I didn't believe she'd…"
"It's not your fault." Jazz reassured her. He scratched his head in irritation, shaking as a sudden chill went down his spine. He turned to see one of the fighters, the so-called Agent Azule. The man was surprisingly similar in appearance to General Blue, with the same ice-cold blue eyes, the same blond hair, and peach skin. However, there were a few differences. For one, this man before him appeared taller and much younger, with a tapered, slightly rounded face. His hair was also swept to the side. The General Blue he knew had well-defined cheekbones and narrower eyes.
"It's him," Z said.
"Oh…" Jazz thought to her, "interesting…" He grinned at the blond man, whose scowl deepened.
"NOW ON TO THE NEXT FIGHTERS!"
"Speak of the devil…" Jazz looked at the board, seeing who was next up.
Launch vs Agent Azule
Jazz vs Tsururin
Launch cracked her knuckles, laughing lightly as her blue hair swayed in the wind. "Well, I guess it's my turn!" She turned to Tien, looking at him sassily. "Will you give me a good luck charm?" The three-eyed monk looked away, seemingly annoyed. Blue-haired Launch giggled as she pecked Tien on the cheek, causing the young man to turn beet red. "I guess I'll take this as a good luck charm." She entered the arena.
Agent Argent put his hands in his pockets and made his way into the arena. Jazz called out to Launch. "Be careful, that guy may have a few tricks up his sleeve, even if his ki presence feels nearly inconsequential."
Launch waved her hand in thanks.
"ARE THE FIGHTERS READY?"
Launch arranged her hair into a ponytail, then into a bun. She grinned as she adjusted her fingerless gloves. "No complaints here from me. Are you ready as well sir?" She asked Agent Azule politely.
Agent Azule barely nodded. He got into a boxing stance.
"ALRIGHT! FIGHT!"
The two charged at each other. As opposed to the fights before, both fighters seemed to want to take things easy this time around. While fast, they were still moving at speeds humans could keep up with. Launch dived low, launching out a donkey kick into Azule's chest. Azule crossed his arms, blocking the attack and backpedaling quickly. Before Launch could strike out again, Azule swung his feet rapidly, tripping Launch. The sweeping kick turned into a spinning lunging sidekick. Launch ducked under the attack and swung her fist in a vicious uppercut. Azule's hand rushed to block the attack. Jazz winced subconsciously, Launch's fist was dangerously close to Azule's balls.
"Oops, that might have been dangerous." Launch giggled, a twinkle in her dark blue eyes. Azule grunted angrily, backing away. His eyes flashed red as he sent Launch into the air. Launch's eyes widened as she was launched further and further up into the air. He tensed his legs, crouching then launching up into the air. He reached Launch almost instantaneously, swinging down with enough force to shatter boulders. Jazz felt Launch's power spike up to respectable levels as she blocked the blow. Despite her efforts, Azule seemed to be the stronger of the two, sending her careening into the ground. The man flew down, orienting himself into a diving kick. Launch rolled out of the way just in time, launching several ki blasts at Azule, who batted them away with ease. Launch could barely flinch in surprise as the blond-haired man began to pummel her into the ground. Bleeding from the lip, Launch pointed a hand at Azule, who ducked reflexively, only to shout in pain as several dozen ki blasts struck him from behind.
Ki balls danced around the blue-haired Launch as she charged towards Azule. Every time she swung a fist at the man, he'd easily block or avoid the blow, only to move away due to how quickly her ki would move to intercept a counterattack. Azule scowled at Launch, "are you just going to hide behind paltry tricks?"
"Paltry tricks?" Launch giggled, her ki blasts dancing around her. "That's a little insulting, don't you think?" She leaped into the air, the ki trailing behind her. Azule blocked attack after attack. Eventually, he charged forward, smashing through the ki balls and striking Launch with a haymaker to the chest. She was launched off the ring but caught herself with the air dance.
"DESPITE HOW HEAVY A BEATING SHE'S TAKING, LAUNCH JUST WON'T LET UP!"
Azule charged forward, "say goodbye, ugly bitch!" He aimed his hand toward Launch's face, prepared to knock her out or kill her.
Launch brought her hand to block the blow. Azule smirked, he was already used to the woman's power and could adjust his strength accordingly. The power he got from Doctor Gero was absolute. Whether the woman before him, the dangerous potentials the Doctor warned him about, or even that bastard Jazz came before him, he was unstoppable. His thoughts changed when Launch began to grin. She blocked his attack with ease, only shifting slightly to block the blow. She then gripped Azule's fist, causing him to wince in pain.
"I wish I had some more time." The Blue-Haired girl giggled. Azule shook in shock and pain as Launch's hair began to change color. To the audience it looked as if a wave of blond coloration began to snake up her hair, starting from the tips and entering the roots of her scalp. It was akin to watching water begin to slowly snake up a sheet of paper that was partially dipped into the water. Launch's eyes were closed the entire time the transformation occurred, only to open them gently, revealing glittering light-blue eyes nearly as bright as Azule's. "We both got some distinguishing features, don't we?" Blonde Launch grinned, tightening her grip. She cocked back her other fist as her ki seemed to quadruple in size. Jazz grinned as he watched Launch begin to manhandle Agent Azule. The reformed General Blue, to his credit, was quite physically capable, while he was weaker than Launch he kept up slightly, but he was held back by the disadvantage of not having ki.
Launch lunged towards the man, swinging her left fist forward. He ducked under the blow, only to be knocked back by a Kiai thrust from Launch's other palm. The burst of air and ki pushed Blue near the edge of the arena. Instead of falling out of bounds, the blond man flew into the air. Launch smirked and gave chase, leaping up and flying after her target like a hawk chasing after a swallow.
"IT LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE TAKING IT TO THE SKIES!"
The crowd murmured enthusiastically, the mid-air spectacle capturing their attention and imagination. Martial artists all over the world looked at the skill on display. If blue-haired Launch's movements could be seen as graceful, Blondey's movements were more akin to the strikes of a wild animal: powerful sweeping strikes with deadly follow-through. Pulling her arms back, Launch crossed them together rapidly, unleashing an X-shaped ki blast.
Agent Azula flipped over the attack and brought down his left heel, attempting to spike Launch to the ground. To his surprise, Launch caught the foot in one hand. "You sure pack a wallop, but it's not enough to handle me." She grinned evilly as she flew down to the arena, dragging Azule by the leg.
Launch felt a strange pain in her chest, causing her to flinch and weaken her grip. Taking advantage of the distraction, Azule kicked her in the face, freeing himself and moving out of the way. Launch stopped her free fall and growled at Azule. "What the hell did you do to me?"
Azule smirked and charged forward. Launch prepared to strike back, then froze in place. Azule's fist swung true, striking Launch in the face.
"THAT WAS A SOLID BLOW! IT LOOKS LIKE THE TIDE IS TURNING IN AGENT AZULE'S FAVOR!"
Azule began a flurry of devastating kicks and punches. Launch moved as if she was underwater, her movements too slow to block the attacks.
"You seem to be tired." Azule said, "maybe you should have a rest!" He charged forward, preparing to knock Launch out.
A tile smashed into the blond cyborg. Almost immediately, Launch charged forward and began to mercilessly beat down Azule, until all of a sudden she froze in place and then doubled over in pain.
"What the hell did you do to me?" She glared at Azule, who was wiping blood from his face.
He didn't answer, instead, he turned to the fighters on the other set of tiles.
…
When the two fights began, Jazz and his opponent, Tsururin, had observed each other cooly for the first few seconds before slowly circling around each other.
The audience's attention was quickly taken by the wild fight between Launch and Azule.
"Man… this is not how I thought my debut would come out…" Tsururin muttered to herself, shaking her head.
Jazz cocked his head, "what do you mean?"
"Well…" She sighed, "my dad and mom were content to lay low and keep a low profile until he fixed his spaceship and we could go visit the moon. But ever since all these martial artists started coming around doing so many things, he thought it would be okay for my brother and me to enter this tournament, the prize money will help us complete the family dream."
"...What?" Jazz replied, confused. "You guys want to visit… the moon?"
"What's wrong with the moon?" Tsururin muttered hotly, "do you hate the moon?"
"Well, no." Jazz replied.
"Good!" Tsururin charged forward with surprising speed. Jazz blinked before blocking a flurry of straight punches and palm thrusts.
"She's good!" Z exclaimed. "Another one of the good Doctor's experiments?"
"I don't think Gero made her, no…" Jazz said, "Her name seems a little familiar."
The biggest issue with dodging Tsururin's attacks was her small stature, he would rather not get too far away from his opponent but he couldn't duck under her attacks. He short-hopped over a low sweeping kick only to be tackled in the chest. "You are surprisingly really fast." He admitted, Tsururin had a surprisingly high power level, more than the average power level of a Tsukimi warrior, but her power and speed reflected a greater level of skill and strength.
"I would say the same about you, and a lot of the other fighters in this tournament, my brother and I have our work cut out for us." Tsururin began to move faster, her body began to shimmer slightly. Jazz crossed his arms and took in a deep breath.
"KAAAAH!" He shouted, unleashing a short-ranged Kiai attack that blew the young woman back. She was sent sailing across the arena unto the grass floor below, only to stop and hover in place. "Air dance?" Jazz asked as he charged forward. As Jazz flew forward, he was caught by surprise by a massive impact, it felt as if he crashed into a wall while running at full speed.
Tsururin smirked, "It's a secret." She disappeared from his view, appearing behind him instantaneously, kicking him in the back of the head. Jazz righted himself just as she kicked him in the face. He flew high in the air, only for her to appear behind him and point a finger forward. "Hyaaah!" He felt his limbs lock up as if someone grabbed him in a crushing bear hug, he moved her fingers, waving them up and down before launching him towards the ground out of bounds.
"At least she doesn't mess around." Jazz thought as his eyes gleamed blue. Tsururin frowned as Jazz freed himself and landed back on the tile floor.
"You have psychic powers too?" She groaned in irritation.
Jazz laughed, "maybe I do. Would you like to fight using only our telekinetic powers?" Without waiting for the girl to respond, Jazz leaned forward, preparing a front flip kick. Tsururin appeared behind him, fist cocked back to strike him in the back of the head. Her eyes widened too late as Jazz's kick caught her in the jaw, launching her in the air. Before she could respond Jazz rocketed up into the air and launched a Kiai into her, sending her toward the grass. She disappeared before she could hit the grass, instead appearing in the middle of the arena. Jazz did not give her time to get her bearings as he struck her with another Kiai, sending her into the air.
"Are you just going to use Kiai Hō attacks against me?" Tsururin balked, freezing in place as Jazz raised his hands towards her again.
Jazz smirked at her. "Yes." Immediately the tiles blew off the ground and began to hurtle towards Jazz, who avoided them with ease, watching in satisfaction as Tsururin's psychic tantrum launched a piece of the tile into Azule.
"WARNING! INTERFERING WITH THE OTHER MATCH IS SEVERELY PROHIBITED!" The announcer raised his hand. "WE WANT TO KEEP THINGS FUN AND FAIR!"
Tsururin glowed at Jazz, who gave her a sardonic grin. "You ready to surrender, ma'am?"
"And slink back to Penguin village a disappointment?" Tsururin teleported in front of Jazz, who had reflexively struck behind him. She pressed her palms on his sternum and blasted forward a wave of air pressure and psychic energy. Jazz braced for impact, muscles building and eyes gleaming blue as he endured her attack. In the same breath, he pushed forward a Kiai cannon knocking the girl out of bounds.
"That was more effort than I thought it would be." Jazz said, sighing. "But I guess it makes sense, given who I'm dealing with."
"AFTER AN INTERESTING DISPLAY OF HIGH-SPEED MOVEMENTS AND AMAZING FLIGHT, IT LOOKS LIKE JAZZ HAS TAKEN THE WIN! NOT A MOMENT TOO SOON AS LAUNCH HAS BEEN KNOCKED OUT OF THE ARENA!"
Jazz turned in shock, seeing Launch on the grassy out-of-bounds. She had used a sizeable amount of ki but she was still in fit fighting form. Azule looked to be in worse shape. His left arm was bent at an odd angle and he sported a black eye. A strange blue energy came off of him in wispy string-like tendrils.
"It really is that blond foppish fruit cake, isn't it?" Z muttered, "The power feels the same, but I thought I took it all."
"Ehh… things happen." Jazz said, completely ignoring the shouting black-haired girl next to him.
"Sneak! Thief! Lecher!" She was red-faced and quite angry.
Jazz side-eyed the young woman. "All is fair on the battlefield. Also, you're flat as fuck so I don't get your complaint." He blocked her rapid attempts to repeatedly kick him in the balls, laughing at her frazzled expression. "That being said, do you know Ms. Arale Norimaki?"
"Ms. Arale? That's a very formal way to refer to that girl…" Tsururin forgot about her anger for a few seconds. "Do you know her?"
"I knew it…" Jazz thought. Tsururin was a resident of Penguin village. He didn't remember much a lot about Dr. Slump, unfortunately, as the comic and show were a bit before his time. But he knew about Arale and a few of her friends and family from the dragon ball manga and dragon ball super show, as well as bits and pieces here and there from fan wikis. He remembered that Arale had a friend from China named…
"Tsukutsun! It looks like you'll have to win! You better not fail, idiot!"
Jazz turned to look at Tsururin yelling at a similar featured black-haired young man, who surprisingly looked a lot like Yamcha.
"Fail? That is tough talk coming from a half-pint who lost the battle in less than ten minutes!" The Yamcha look-alike yelled back.
Jazz ignored the pair and made his way to Launch, who was sitting cross-legged on the grass.
"Dammit!" The blonde cursed. "I had that fight! Then that asshole used a weird trick." She let out a loud, agitated scream.
"You okay?" Jazz asked.
"Pft, his punches were weak, I'd have never lost to that motherfucker if not for his weird bullshit. You better watch out for that asshole, since you're facing him next." Launch tapped Jazz's shoulder. "Did you know he was psychic?"
"I had an inkling when I saw him." Jazz admitted as they made their way into the waiting area, "but I didn't know for sure."
"Well, it's not like I'd have been able to do much against a psychic." Launch shrugged.
"That's not necessarily true." Jazz said, "I also have powers like that, Chiaotzu does as well. But you don't necessarily need similar powers to counter that guy's powers."
"Oh?" Launch looked at Jazz quizzically. "Then what do you need?"
Jazz shrugged, "sadly enough, it's really simple. Either you strike them hard and fast before they can use their power, or you overwhelm them with power."
"Well, that sucks." Launch's hair returned to a dark blue. "I wanted to test out my capabilities, it turns out I fought the worst person possible to take things slow with. It's alright though! I'll be cheering you guys on from the sidelines!" Launch walked away from Jazz, walking over to where Tien and Chiaotzu were talking. Tien nodded at Jazz, who nodded back.
Jazz turned to look at Azule, who glared at him before grinning wickedly. Jazz would have been a bit intimidated if not for the man's black eye. Ignoring the man, he turned his attention to the boards. "Interesting."
Chiaotzu vs Master Shen
Ms. Piiza vs Mrs. Morada
"IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE ANOTHER CHALLENGE OF MASTER VS STUDENT, A FORMER PUPIL OF THE CRANE SCHOOL FACING ITS VENERABLE MASTER! WHO WILL WIN?! AND ON THE OTHER END! TWO NEW CHALLENGERS! THE LOVELY LADIES MS. PIIZA AND MRS. MORADA!"
Ms. Pizza appeared to be either a very young woman or an older teen. She had very bushy orange hair and bright amber-gold eyes. She had small pink stud earrings and ruby red lipstick. She wore a tight-fitting pink halter/crop top mix, black shorts, a black full-body leotard, and sports bandages around her arms and legs over the leotard. The last piece of her outfit was a hot-pink choker with flower engravings. Piiza turned to the crowd and grinned, raising her hand and striking a victory pose. "Dynamic introduction! I'm Miss Piiza! Mr. Satan's 2nd strongest disciple as well as a rookie talent agent! Master of Kendo, Muy Thai, Kungfu, and of course the Satan Style special!"
Jazz turned to look at Hercule, who blushed slightly. "Umm… I'm still a showman as much as I'm a martial artist… so my disciples are a little… excitable." He winced as the young woman backflipped twice before doing the splits and unleashing a small blast of ki that burst like a bright spread of fireworks, highlighting her body and wowing the crowd. "Really excitable…" Hercule muttered, looking away in embarrassment.
Mrs. Morada, her opponent, while equally lovely, was stoic by comparison. She had purple hair arranged in a half-pixie cut. She wore a dark gray tank top and camo sweatpants. She had on camo shorts and dark green to almost black leggings. She wore white fingerless gloves and dark red boots, which matched the tone of her ruby stud earrings. Like Miss Piiza, she had some makeup on but seemed to have on only some light brown eyeshadow and a slight blush, opting for lipgloss instead of lipstick, giving her an all-around relatively 'youthful' feel. He hadn't seen Dragon Ball in a long time, nor had he taken the time to observe the mug shots of all the arrested and at large Red Ribbon Army members
"I wonder which one that is?" Z wondered.
Jazz shrugged mentally, 'Regardless, I'll need to keep a close eye on these fellows.'
The most pressing battle however was the fight between Chiaotzu and Master Chen.
"Hehehehehe Hahaha!" The glasses-wearing Crane Hermit giggled incessantly. "To think I'd get the opportunity to take vengeance on my unfilial student so soon!" He clenched and unclenched his fists as he glared at his diminutive former disciple. Chiaotzu normally carried himself with a neutral expression so it was of no surprise to any who knew him that he simply stared at his former master passively. In and of itself it was an improvement from cannon, where Chiaotzu could only gasp in shock and fear upon seeing Cyborg Tao only to get knocked out unceremoniously.
"I know you fear Tien," Chiaotzu muttered. "But you also hate us both more than you fear him. So you want to take out all your anger on me."
"Oh, so you're smart enough to understand that at least?" Shen grinned. "You were always an idiot, Chiaotzu, so I'm surprised you finally learned a bit of common sense."
"It wasn't that I was stupid." Chiaotzu replied, "I just had a bad teacher." Before Shen could retort, Chiaotzu got into a martial pose. "Cut the chatter you old fogey and try and kill me already!"

Sorry it took a bit to get this one out. Anyways, be on the lookout for the next one pretty soon. Maybe even today if I can be kicked hard enough. Part of the reason why the two fights were so jumbled together is due to Jazz being involved with one of them, which meant that he was both observing Launch and Azule (General Blue) fight while at the same time fighting against Tsururin, who's evidently pretty busted. To anyone who's watched Dragon Ball Super, Arale is busted, to anyone who's watched or read original Dragon Ball, Arale was always seen as pretty strong, to anyone who's watched Dr. Slump or knows a bit about it, Arale is super duper busted. Tsukutsun gets stronger than that busted girl when he gets angry, and his sister is a comparable, if weaker martial artist with ridiculous telekinesis and teleportation abilities. Though, funnily enough, that absurdity almost fits right in with the weirdness of early dragon ball. At the least however, their existence isn't just me throwing them in for no reason. Penguin village exists in the original, though in this rendition Goku doesn't encounter that weird town the same way he normally does and the characters of that village would be like 6 years older than what they were depicted as during that arc.
