" ugh what happened " asked a green-haired boy with freckles on his face while getting up from the ground
" where the f*ck are we, " asked now a confused and irritated blonde boy with spiky hair that seemingly defied gravity
" Language young Bokugo," said a skinny blonde-haired man who looked like a skeleton while looking at the place they appeared " Aizawa do you have any idea where we are and how we got here "
A man with black long hair bloodshot red eyes and a giant scarf around his neck looked at him and his class thought for a moment and sighed " Well what I think is someone must have used his quark on us and we got teleported here wherever here is "
" Mr. Aizawa do you think this could be the work of a villain " asked a tall blue-haired boy with glasses
" it is one possibility but not the only... " Aizawa was interrupted when a portal opened and dropped more people
" Okay what is going on now," asked a confused girl with pink skin and horns as she looked at the people lying on the floor
" Where are we " asked a brown-skinned white-haired woman with bunny ears while getting up from the floor
" We don't know Mirko San," told Almight " but I must ask what you were doing before you got here "
" Nothing it was my break day I was watching TV and drinking a beer with Riukiu here " she answered while pointing at the now-getting-up heroin
Aizawa and Almight nodded at her words and looked at everyone there were some top heroes some school stuff and class one A " Okay let... " Aizawa was once more interrupted when the same portal appeared and dropped more people when he looked at the new arrivals his eyes got wide and took a fighting pose " Everyone gets in a fighting position they are villains "
The pro heroes took fighting positions and looked at now getting up villains
" umm Shigi I think we are in trouble," said a light blonde-haired girl with a middle school uniform
" I know but how did they manage to teleport us here... " said a boy with light blue hair who had hands on his face
Then suddenly they all heard a coughing voice and looked in the middle of the room then they saw a man who was in a business suit that had his face covered by a black cloth with black horns coming out of his head and was holding a book
" Sorry for the interruption but I must ask all of you to calm down," said the masked man
" Who are you? " Asked a black-haired boy with burn marks and stitches
" My name is not important but you can just call me Phantom " Now named Phantom Introduced himself
" I don't care what your name is all I want to know is if you are the one who brought us here," asked short yellow-haired women
" Well miss Riukiu that is right I am the one who brought you here and as to why it's because my boss wants you to read a book " answered Phantom
Everyone looked at him as if he was crazy " I don't care what you want if you don't want to get hurt you will let us go " said Bokugo while bringing his hands up until noticing that nothing was happening " What... my Quark is not working... " said now horrified boy
At his words, everyone's eyes got wide, and looked at Phantom " Why do you seem so confused of course I would do something about your guy's quarks so you wouldn't hurt each other " answered the unasked question
A short purple-haired girl with earphone jacks on her ears raised her hand " Umm if we don't do what you ask what then "
Phantom Eye smiled at her " OH that is easy you won't be able to leave that is all "
That statement caused panic in the kids " So if we want to leave we have to read right? "
" That is correct Mister Aizawa but I must warn you that this is not a normal book it's a story of an alternative reality of yourself " answered the horned man
" What do you mean an alternate reality of ourselves " asked Almight
" As you already heard an alternative reality where something small changes and causes a huge change in the story " answered Phantom
" Okay we will read the stupid book but I don't want to be anywhere near the moran heroes," said agitated Dabi and set down with his companions
Aizawa sighed " The same goes for us we will comply with your demands if nothing happens to the kids " and set down when he saw Phantoms nod " Sit down the faster we finish reading faster we get home," he told his students and heroes whom complied and set down far away from the villains
Phantom nodded and let go of the book which magically didn't fall and floated to Shigaraki " You will be the first one to read it seems all you must know right now is that when you read the TV will automatically show what you are reading all "
Shigaraki looked annoyed but nodded " Fine let's get this started...Just a shinobi...hmm weird title "
Just a Shinobi
"You all right there, kiddo?"
Tenko Shimura blinked.
Shigaraki's eyes got wide when he saw himself on the TV " What the fu*k am I there " he thought but didn't say anything fearful that no one would find out It was him
" poor boy what is wrong with him " asked concerned Midnight
" Who cares just continue reading the demn book," said Dabi while Shigaraki nodded and continued
Once. Twice. Thrice.
He blinked up at the shadow that had fallen over him. What else could he do? He was just a boy, after all. So many people had walked by him on the street. Not a single one had stopped to ask if he needed help. One after the other. No one had reached out a hand to him; if anything they went out of their way to avoid him. Pretending he wasn't there. Acting like he didn't exist.
All the while Tenko kept scratching, scratching, scratching. Until now.
" poor kid I hope he is all right " interrupted Momo Yeruzu while her classmates nodded in agreement
" Just shut up and let me read," said an annoyed Shigaraki and continued reading
Now, as the owner of that voice crouched down before him on the sidewalk, a tiny ray of sunlight pierced the hollow expanse of his mind. Someone had noticed him. Even as the crowds parted on either side of them, his attention didn't waver. Bright blue eyes remained fixed upon his, sapphire-piercing scarlet.
"Hey." they tilted their head. "Are you all right? Did something happen?"
Shigaraki stopped for a moment and thought " Who is that man I have not met him before " and continued to read
He found himself looking upon a strange man, more a teenager really, clad in strange orange-and-black clothes. Bright blue eyes crinkled in a small smile, framed by whiskered cheeks and messy blond hair. He looked even worse than Tenko felt right now. As if he'd just fallen out of the sky and hit every building on the way down. Maybe he had. His body was covered in dirt and grime, his attire weathered and torn to reveal a mesh undershirt beneath. There was a strange sun-like mark on his right hand. A tattoo or something?
" is that man okay," asked Almight to Phantom who nodded
" yes he may not look like much now but he is very sturdy so you don't need to worry " Almight nodded
" You may continue Shigaraki San," said Phantom
Yet for all his injuries, the young man smiled.
"Here, lemme see your hands...
Dread reared its ugly head in Tenko's heart. A flash of agonizing memory caught him in its teeth. His hands. Breaking! Cracking! Death! Killing!
" Okay what happened to that kid " asked now angry Mirko
" Well we have to find out no ? " said now amused Phantom and nodded his head to Shigaraki
"N-No!" he recoiled with a yelp. "Wait!"
"It's fine." strong palms closed around him, as an older brother might toward a younger sibling. "Nothing's going to happen."
Even as cracks spread across his fingers, they healed thrice as fast. Gentle golden light bubbled up and the damage inflicted by his quirk was immediately undone by...what was that, exactly? Regeneration? No, this went beyond that. Almost like something deep inside the blond scoffed at the injury and erased it.
After that everyone looked at Shigaraki and then at the boy " ...wait that boy is you Shiga " asked Toga not knowing she was asking the same question that everyone had
Shigaraki looked like he wanted to murder someone but only sighed in frustration " ...Yeah it is me so what...if you don't mind I am continuing to read " and started to read
"It's going to be all right, now." the stranger smiled, cheeks dimpling. "I'm here. Are you lost? Where are your parents?"
Those words. Those blasted words.
Faced with such a sight, with genuine human kindness for the first time in so long, Tenko did what any child in his situation would.
He broke.
Everyone looked at Shigaraki one more time but didn't say anything to let him continue reading
"I'm lost." Tenko warbled once and hiccuped. "I don't have anything, anymore..."
A tan hand came down on his head, tousling his pale hair.
"That's all right." his savior laughed. "I'm kinda lost, too. No idea where this place is, and really, I've never seen buildings this big before." a weary blue eye looked around, scowling at the crowds that even now ignored the two of them. "Don't mind those idiots. We can be lost together." in a quiet aside, he added to himself, "Once I figure out where here is...
" That's weird how doesn't he know where he is does he have amnesia or something " asked confused Kamenari but no one answered
"Who are you?" Tenko's voice faltered a little. "Are you one of those heroes...?"
"Hero? Me? The blond man smiled. "Nah. I'm Naruto. Just a shinobi."
" OH oh that's where the title comes from," said cheerful Hagakure
Three little words. Yet they changed his fate. Not a hero. Not a villain; something else altogether. A hero hadn't come to help him. A villain certainly hadn't. He had. Looking back, Tenko would remember this moment; the very instant. One tiny action, a singular ripple in a world gone cold...changed everything.
A palm planted itself between his shoulders, guiding him onward.
"C'mon. Let's get you something to eat...
Just a shinobi, indeed.
" That was the prolog I guess," said Uraraka with a forced smile
" Umm Shigaraki who was that man " asked Dabi
"...I don't know it must be one of the changes Phantom told us about " answered Shigaraki with an angered voice
