''What have you done?''
Chloe is in Lux's lift with Amenadiel, Linda and Ella, they're on their way to Lucifer's penthouse. A few days ago, they agreed to go do something together today. Lucifer would plan an amazing day for them, because nobody believed he could plan anything fun without orgies or booze. Lucifer, of course, had to prove them wrong. Maze was also invited, but she was nowhere to be found and she didn't reply to any texts. That wasn't unusual, but the others didn't feel like waiting for her.
Lucifer probably forgot about the agreement, anyway. That's typical of Lucifer, but the group decided to go anyway. Maybe Lucifer has remembered and is already waiting for them to arrive so they can go to whatever he has planned for them.
Suddenly, they hear some kind of scream. It doesn't sound very human, and Chloe immediately worries that something has happened to Lucifer, even though the scream doesn't sound like him. She looks at Amenadiel, who looks as confused as Chloe feels.
The lift door finally opens, and Chloe is disgusted by what she sees.
Lucifer is holding something angrily against the wall, it looks like a dark red and veiny sack of blood and organs. It makes a squeaking noise, and Chloe comes to the horrifying conclusion that the thing is alive. Although it's hard to tell the red skin from the blood, the creature looks badly injured and it's making terrifying cries. It's frightening and Chloe has no idea what exactly it is, but she can see that it's injured and it looks weak and exhausted as it tries to wriggle away from the devilish hand that's gripping it by the neck. Although the creature frightens Chloe to death, she feels sorry for it.
Amenadiel seems to recognise the creature and has a terrified expression on his face. This frightens Chloe. She has no idea what Lucifer is doing and judging by Amenadiel's expression, neither does he.
Amenadiel seems to come out of a trance and shouts loudly and urgently:
''Lucifer, let her go!''
Chloe is surprised to hear Amenadiel indicate the sex of the creature, which must mean that Amenadiel knows who she is.
Lucifer freezes at the sound of Amenadiel's voice and drops the body. It falls hard to the ground and makes a final growling sound of protest at Lucifer before stumbling towards the lift. It tries to run but its damaged body is too weak to get far. The creature limps towards Chloe and the group and Chloe jumps away to avoid touching it. The thing crashes into the wall of the lift and sinks to the floor as it changes into its human form. A woman Chloe recognises all too well.
''Oh my God, Maze…''
It was Linda who spoke. Chloe looked at her face and saw the same shock Chloe herself was feeling. Maze's face was badly beaten up and she was bleeding from her nose and all the wounds on her face. Her clothes were torn and there were bruises and cuts all over her arms and legs. Maze whimpered and growled softly as Chloe watched her chest rise and fall rapidly. Chloe looked into Maze's eyes and saw a single tear slip from her eye, roll down her cheek and fall to the floor.
Maze started to cough, but didn't have the strength to put her hand over her mouth. Chloe saw blood coming out of Maze's mouth, clinging to her chin and dripping down her chest, but Maze didn't wipe it away.
Linda and Ella knelt beside Maze, trying to help her, but Chloe turned to look at Lucifer. She tried to speak. Her throat was tight and she could barely make a sound, but from the look on Lucifer's face she knew that he heard her.
