The multiverse. A concept unfamiliar to some and familiar to others. You probably know how your universe began but have you ever wondered how the multiverse began? Well fellow readers, I have decided in this story that I shall make my debut!
Don't know who I am? Allow me to clue you in. I was a character created in Secret Wars #1 way back in 1984. I am voiced by an actor who is something of an icon himself. My universe is a bit of a Marvel. Have I clued you in?
It is I! The Beyonder! That's right, I have come out of my comfort zone to take part in this world because the writer just wanted to add more multiversal characters to the story. Seriously man, isn't too much enough? But then again, a ton of characters are going to die throughout this story so….Well, I don't wish to spoil the story, so why don't you read every syllable the writer is about to type and understand.
It began, in 2020 AD where a young time traveller named Dr Lake Singer went back in time to save Pacifica Northwest from a witch from the Demon Realm which in turn caused a chain of unpredictable events that made her go back in time to create the Big Bang.
We all know that The Big Bang created the Universe itself. But, it didn't just create the Big Bang, it created others. The creator of life itself, nicknamed the axolotl as its real name will cause your tongue to be knotted.
The White Wolf. A being that can see far into the future of every known universe in existence. But, they can't reveal everything important.
Death. A being that thinks life needs to have its limits in order there to be some kind of, population control as he likes to put it.
The Guardian. A being designated to watch every universe to make sure there are no intents to destroy it from beings.
And then, there was me. The Beyonder. I have no role in this. I just like to cause a little bit of harmless mischief.
In the beginning, the Axolotl created the Universe as you know it. Or, at least the universe you're currently reading about. The real universe you're living in is just a side project.
You see, the only reason why the multiverse came to be was simple, we got bored. Death felt like he could be doing more, The Guardian was tired of watching, I got bored of tormenting the same people and the Axolotl wanted something to do.
So, the axolotl began to create and mix and they created another universe and then another and then another and then he created one where I'm a God and then he created one where all the World Wars never happened and then he created one where Vespas are the equivalent to sports cars and then he created a universe where my best friend would thrive, Lunella.
Then, the Axolotl created the Demon Realm and Amphibia. And on the birth of Amphibia was when the multiverse was created.
And so for the next 130 billion years, I was delighted, Death was delighted, the Time Wolf was delighted and the Axolotl was most certainly delighted. But the Guardian on the other hand, was exhausted. They had to keep track on all these universes and they could never get a break. Even bagel Fridays with them last for minutes at a time.
So, that's when The Guardian decided to do the one thing that could destroy everything. So The Guardian performed the Axolotl's job and created four beings known as the Archivists. The Analyst, The Architect, The Anarchist and The Sovereign; Powerful beings assigned to do one thing, keep an eye on the Demon Realm while they worked on their side project. The creation of three gemstones that could take you to anywhere in the universe.
But that's not important. We all know where things go from there soooooooo, skip!
But fortunately and unfortunately, the Axolotl and the White Wolf foresaw what those Archivists are capable of. They saw within their appearances, chaos, destruction and mischief. Just like that dream Demon Bill Cipher.
But we know about him so I won't get into much detail.
The Axolotl created powerful creatures that could withstand them, the Titans. A powerful race of demons inhabiting the Demon Realm.
But unfortunately, the Archivists had foreseen how powerful the Titans were and intended to wipe them out. So they created, a distraction, a distraction they refer to us as their brother. The Collector.
I know, I know. I know what you're thinking. 'But Mr Beyonder, how can they be brothers when they created him? Doesn't that technically make them their fathers?' Well, take it up with the writer of the story, not me.
Anyway, they sent The Collector to The Demon Realm to 'Play' with the Titans. They got on splendidly. Heck, I dare say that they were even one with the family.
Until the day I like to call, The Genocide. Almost 10,000 years ago, the Archivists attacked, killing every last Titan on the planet. Adults, children, you name it. They were ruthless.
The last Titan hid an egg on an island hoping that the next generation of Titans would be secured for the next generation. As for The Collector, he imprisoned them in a tablet inside of his skull so no one could release them. A decision, he will come to regret over time.
The last Titan who we know as Papa Titan or Craig as we like to call him, was killed. But then, a miracle happened.
After he died, his corpse began to have a bit of a transformation. His corpse sprouted life. The first witch born on the Boiling Isles. This moment was also foreseen by the White Wolf and the Axolotl.
Since The Guardian was responsible for their creation, they were tasked with imprisoning them in an endless void. But, they would have escaped anyway. That was, until they imprisoned them with an ultimatum.
If three mortals from Earth 12,19,20 died from godlike power and somehow got resurrected then they will burst out of their prison.
Over the years we gained new watchers to help The Guardian with their job. Craig himself watched over the Demon Realm and other universes when they had the time, Manny Noceda also helped with the watching and a young FBI agent named Kendall Bratton all became watchers.
As for the Archivists, they were still imprisoned. No way would they ever get out. I mean, three mortals surviving bursts of godlike energy and coming back to life?! Impossible, right? Well, you've clearly read the last four stories so you know.
First, Anne Boonchuy died by harnessing all three of the calamity gems and then came back. Luz Noceda was killed by a Titan possessed Belos and then came back to life. Finally, Mason Pines harnessed the powers of the Calamity gems and then came back to life. Jeez, it's like nobody stays dead in that world!
And because of that turn of events, the Archivists are almost close to escaping their prisons. When they do, well, the entire multiverse is doomed. DOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
