War Among Worlds 1x04: Frogs, Monkeys, and Magic….Oh My!
The group looks around their surroundings to figure out where they are until they discover they are all tied up together and that is when a big fierce black and white Gorilla named Nakia who is the leader of the Great Monkey Battalion walks up to the group.
Nakia: Now I'm going to ask some questions and I want some answers.
Sprig: Who are you and where are we?
Amity: And what do you want with us?
Nakia: Hey, did you not hear what I just told you?
Alador: No, we just don't understand where we are and what a group of fierce monkeys want with us.
Nakia: How do you know about us? Who have you been talking to?
Polly: You know you guys seem really scared of people you just met what's going on here.
A Bushy Golden Orange haired Tamarin named Leo who looks like he has seen a lot of stuff in his life and has one scar over his left eye walks up to Nakia and talks to her.
Leo: Are you sure this is the best way to go about getting information we don't even know who they are?
Danai: Yeah, you know what Leo is absolutely right let's try saying please and having a simple conversation with these absolute strangers we have never met- before.
Leo: You know Danai that's not really helping the situation that we are in right now.
Danai: So then let's take them back to the Monkey Kingdom and have Calvan deal with them unless for some reason we don't trust Calvan anymore.
Leo: You know that's not what I am saying.
Nakia: SILENCE let me think for a moment which is kind of hard to do with the two of you arguing constantly.
Leo: Sorry.
Nakia walks around a bit and then looks at Leo and Danai and then at the rest of the group thinking of what to do.
Sprig: Look I know that we have no idea what's going on here, but maybe if you give us a chance, we can help you with your problems.
Danai: And what would you know about our problems?
Sprig: Well clearly nothing at the minute, but if you give us a chance.
Danai: No, I am sorry, but it's easier for us to just leave you here and have you take your chances at survival in the Hidden Jungle.
Alador: So, is that what you let happen to the people of the Forgotten Zone?
Nakia, Leo, and Danai turn around in shock when they hear Alador mention the Forgotten Zone.
Nakia: How do you know about the Forgotten Zone? Nobody is supposed to know about that, at least nobody that is from the Hidden Jungle.
Ivy: Yeah, we don't live here.
Danai: Let's just leave them here and go we have already wasted too much time as it is we can't afford to waste anymore.
Leo: Look Nakia I don't particularly like to agree with Danai for several reasons, but this was supposed to be a simple recon mission to make sure everything is safe outside The Monkey Kingdom.
Nakia: Yeah, and it was until they showed up.
Sprig: Look I know this has nothing to do with me, but have you even thought to consider that maybe we could help you I mean what do you know about the Forgotten Zone because honestly things there are really confusing.
Danai: Good that's the way it's supposed to be they may hate us, but we have a reason for why we are doing what we are doing.
Amity: And what exactly is it that you are doing?
Danai: It would be too complicated for you to understand.
Leo: So, what are we going to do Nakia?
Nakia thinks through her options and then walks towards the group and unites them much to Leo and Danai's amazement.
Nakia: I may regret doing this, but you aren't part of this problem so if we let you go do you promise not to come back?
Sprig: Look I know you guys could have easily killed us.
Polly: I don't know about that bro there are 3 of them and 6 of us so I kind of like those odds.
Danai: You want to bet on that.
Polly: Oh, bring it on you black and white Capuchin monkey.
Leo: How does she know about Monkey's?
Polly and Danai get ready to fight each other as Sprig steps in and looks at the both of them.
Sprig: Look fighting each other isn't going to solve any problems.
Polly: I would have to disagree with you on that.
Nakia: So, then what are you suggesting then?
Sprig: Well, I was thinking we would start first with introductions I am Sprig.
Nakia: I am Nakia the leader of The Great Monkey Battalion of The Monkey Kingdom. So here is what I think we should do after we get introductions out of the way you tell us how exactly you all got here and if we like the story, we will let you help us and even come into The Monkey Kingdom. However, if we don't like what you say well Danai is trained in many ways of making sure people don't talk again are we understood.
Sprig looks around at the group and then shakes Nakia's hand and accepts her offer.
Sprig: Well, I suppose I should start at the beginning.
Meanwhile, back on the Boiling Isles in the Blight Manor Luz is getting ready for her first day at the University of Wild Magic but is at her desk typing a message to Amity on her communicator.
Luz: Well, I don't know where you are sweet potato, but if you do happen to get this, I miss you and I am really excited for my first day at the University of Wild Magic. While I am going to try to do my best to have a good day, I hope I can learn more about this rebellion that mysterious voice has just got me thinking I am sure King, or the Collector must know something they just have to. Well, I remain optimistic because if somebody is in trouble we must do our best to help them anyway I hope you are learning a lot about Abomination Magic from your aunt and the People at the Crystal Caverns.
Ed knocks on the door to Amity's room which Luz and puts her communicator away to go answer the door.
Luz: What's going on Ed?
Ed: Jut checking to see if you are ready for orientation day or not yet?
Luz: Yes, I am I was just finishing sending a message to Amity today is going to be an exciting day learning about some many different types of magic. You know I never got the chance to ask you, but what exactly do you teach at the University of Wild Magic Ed?
Ed: It's called the Illusions of Beast Keeping Potions class and knowing how all of those different types of magic work together.
Luz: Wow that sounds like an amazing class.
Ed: Yeah, I have had some really cool students in that class now come on it's time to get going.
Luz: Whoa you didn't think you were going to take me to the university did you I think it's time me and Stringbean showed you how far my flying has come.
Ed: Are you sure that Is a good idea?
Luz: Come on don't you trust me?
Ed: Alright now let's get some breakfast before we leave.
Luz and Ed go down the stairs to where Emira has already started eating breakfast and get some cereal and start eating.
Emira: So, Luz I was thinking while dad is away with Darius and Amity wouldn't it be fun to have your mom and Vee over.
Luz: With school starting up and everything that we found out about this rebellion.
Ed: Which was what exactly?
Luz: Okay so we don't really know anything about it which is why I'm trying to get in contact with King or the Collector to see if they know anything about this "rebellion".
Emira: But couldn't we use more help?
Luz: Not until we know what we are getting ourselves involved in with first. Please, I just need the two of you to give me an opportunity to figure this out by myself first.
Emira: I can do that Luz.
Ed: So can I Luz.
Luz: Thank you both of you.
Emira: Your mom and Vee will be here when you get home from school.
Luz: Em what did I just say?
Emira: They asked me about this a while ago and besides they can't wait to hear about your first day of school.
Luz: Okay, but I may be coming home late tonight, so make sure they are aware of that and don't tell them about the rebellion.
Ed: So, I was wondering how come you think we never knew about this Aunt Janika I know dad said that mom isolated him from the rest of his family, but why would dad not tell us about his sister it just doesn't make sense.
Emira: I'm sure there is a reason that makes sense that we will figure it out without having to go talk to mom.
Luz: Yes, that is the last thing any of us should do after everything she did to help Belos.
Ed: Well, come on Luz it's time to get to the University of Wild Magic.
Luz: Me and Stringbean are going to show him how well my flying has come, so come on what are we waiting for?
Emira: Are you sure that's a good idea Luz.
Luz: Yes, I am now let's get going.
Luz and Ed leave the Blight Manor on Stringbean as he transforms into a magical staff and Emira watches them leave from a distance.
Meanwhile, outside of The Monkey Kingdom Sprig is finishing telling the story of how they got to the hidden jungle and then Nakia walks up to him and looks at Danai.
Sprig: So, what do you think?
Danai: Yes, and in what painful ways do you want me to kill them because you know anything works for me.
Nakia: You know I sometimes forget about how psychotic you can be Danai especially when we have no reason to kill them.
Danai: No reason to kill them what the hell are you talking about they know about the Hidden Jungle who knows what they could be planning?
Nakia: Three of them got trapped here and the other three were here to help protect people and I think that's a pretty fair thing to want. Last time I checked we still don't know how you joined the Great Monkey Battalion.
Danai: I told you how I joined the Great Monkey Battalion Calvan requested that I join for my excellent marksmanship skills and my resourcefulness in any situation.
Leo: Are you sure that's all.
Danai: Do you need me to give you a demonstration of what got me into the Great Monkey Battalion to begin with?
Danai pulls out a sharp knife with a crazed look in her eye until Nakia comes over and knocks the knife out of her hands.
Nakia: We aren't going to be killing anybody tonight.
Danai: I mean I never talked about killing anybody, but if that's what you're into we can totally make that work.
Alador: Thank you for giving us this opportunity. I'm sure we can learn a lot from each other.
Darius: So, what do we do next?
Nakia: Now don't get me wrong I don't completely trust you, but you guys do seem like people who genuinely care about others so I am taking a huge gamble here and will bring you into the Monkey Kingdom to try and help us make sure no one ever figures out where we are.
Amity: Why can't anybody figure out where we are?
Nakia: Because Calvan, who is the monkey king hates lions and humans.
Darius: Wait a minute, why does he hate lions and humans?
Danai: Because Humans and Lions have done nothing but cause problems for the Monkey Kingdom or do I need to remind you of what happened last time we trusted humans?
Nakia: No, you don't, the last time we tried working with humans and lions we lost I almost lost my sister and my parents we can't let that happen again.
Danai: Exactly the great invasion destroyed almost everyone in the Monkey Kingdom that took us almost five whole years to repair from and now you're telling us that you want to go against Calvan's orders and just invite outsiders into the Monkey Kingdom.
Nakia: Look that's not what I am saying, but I also feel like they could have attacked us if they wanted to by this point.
Danai: Which is exactly what happened before the Lions teamed up with the humans to attack us which is why we made the Forgotten Zone and the Lion's Den, so nobody could ever find us again.
Sprig: Look we don't know all of the past you guys have had to go through, but all we want to do is help and I'm sure if we work together, we can prove that the Humans aren't as dangerous as you think they are.
Amity: I want to point out that we are witches not humans just to let you know.
Nakia: What is the difference?
Alador: Oh, you have so much to learn.
Nakia: So, then it is decided we will take you to the Monkey Kingdom and meet with Calvan to talk about how to keep the Forgotten Zone in check so nobody ever tries to figure out where we are ever again.
Sprig: You can count on us to help you.
Sprig and Nakia shake hands and as everyone starts to walk towards the Monkey Kingdom Danai stops Leo.
Danai: Have you thought any more about my offer?
Leo: I will and when the time comes, I will join you Nakia has lost her way and as much as I want to believe in the good of these people the last time we trusted outsiders I nearly lost my family I can't let that happen again. Just be smart about what you do okay I can only do so much.
Danai: Don't worry when the time comes, we will be ready, but until that time comes let's go home
Leo: Understood.
Danai and Leo race off to join the rest of the group back home to The Monkey Kingdom. Meanwhile on The Boiling Isles Luz and Ed arrive to the University of Wild Magic.
Ed: Well, it may have taken us a while to get here, but we finally made it.
Luz: And by the looks of it seems we made it just in time as well.
Ed: Well, I hope you enjoy the orientation Luz I got a lot of work I must get to.
Luz: Wait, I thought you and Gus were going to be a part of the new student orientation.
Ed: Were teachers Luz we must get ready for the day, but you will see us on tour around campus as part of your new student orientation, but for now I feel like Eda won't be happy with you if you miss your New Student Orientation.
Luz: Wait, I thought the New Student Orientation was part of my first day of school.
Ed: Yeah, in most normal schools including schools from the human realm I'm sure that's how it would be, but Eda has created a far more interesting method for how classes and everything work here at the University of Wild Magic. To be honest it is hard to explain, but Eda is the best that explaining what this school is all about. Now come on, you don't want to be late.
Luz: Alright well I guess I will see you and Gus later then.
Luz goes inside the University of Wild Magic and into the Assembly Hall where she sees a bunch of new Freshman and as she is searching for a spot to sit, she bumps into a young witch with orange twirly hair named Kimi.
Kimi: Oh, I'm so sorry I can be so clumsy sometimes I should have been watching where I was going.
Luz: No, it's my fault. I should have looked at where I am going, I will be better about that next time.
Kimi and Luz laugh and smile at each other.
Kimi: Oh, where are my manners? My name is Kimi. What's yours?
Luz: My name is Luz, and I am going to guess you are a freshman here as well.
Kimi: Yeah, good guess.
Luz: I mean this is the new student orientation so it would be the only thing that makes sense, so what made you want to come to the University of Wild Magic?
Kimi: My parents have told me a lot of great things about this school.
Luz: And who are your parents?
Kimi: Oh, they are great explorers always traveling the ocean for work.
Luz: Oh, wow that is cool
Kimi: Yeah so, I almost forgot to ask what made you want to join the University of Wild Magic.
Luz: Well, I know quite a few teachers here and the headmistress herself Eda.
Kimi: You know Eda Clawthorne that must be so amazing my parents have told me so many stories about her.
Luz: Oh, did they go to Hexside together?
Kimi thinks for a minute and then smiles at Luz.
Kimi: Yeah, or something like that.
Luz: I'm sure they were the best of friends now come on we should find a place to sit the meeting will start soon.
Kimi: Yeah, I'm sure this orientation will be very informative in more ways than one.
Luz and Kimi find a place to sit together when suddenly someone walks up next to Kimi.
Luz: Is this one of your friends Kimi?
Kimi: Oh, I'm sorry where are my manners this is my friend Auqkwell we have been friends since we have been kids and we both went to Hexside together.
Auqkwell a black and blue haired witch named looks at Kimi and smiles.
Luz: So, what are some of the types of magic you are planning on learning about here.
Kimi: Well of course everything, but I happen to be great at Illusions magic.
Auqkwell: And I am great with potions magic, but also have a hobby in beast keeping magic as well which has been fun to learn about as well.
Kimi: There is just so much potential to learn about here at the University of Wild Magic.
Luz: I have a feeling we are going to become fast friends.
Kimi: Oh, I am counting on that.
Luz: What was that?
Kimi: I mean how about you go look for a place for us to sit I must talk to Auqkwell for a minute.
Luz: Okay, but don't take too long.
Luz goes off to look for a place to sit and once Kimi sees that she is far enough away she turns back to Auqkwell.
Auqkwell: You know she isn't as dumb as you think she is.
Kimi: Yes, but she knows Eda which is a huge advantage for us.
Auqkwell: Yeah, that is true, but unless we do things smart all of the work, we have done to get here will be for nothing and we can't have that now can we.
Kimi: That is true so for now we continue with the plan as it is because she is going to help us get there.
Kimi and Auqkwell look off into the distance at Luz. Then they go and find Luz who is sitting near the center of the stage and sitting next to her as Eda comes onto the stage.
Eda: Welcome everyone to the University of Wild Magic I'm sure you all can't wait to get started in all of your classes I should let you know first that this school doesn't work the same way as most normal schools if it did then why would I be in charge of it.
Eda looks into the audience and sees everyone confused, but still entertained, which is a good sign for her.
Eda: I can tell by the blank looks in the audience that you don't quite understand what I am saying so let me explain at this school you just don't have a simple schedule for how you choose your classes.
Kimi: Then how are you supposed to know what classes you are going to.
Eda sees Kimi and smiles while Auqkwell looks at Kimi questioning why she questioned Eda.
Eda: Boy, do I love audience participation what school do you come from young witchling.
Kimi: Hexside.
Eda: That explains so much you have such a fiery passion tell me what type of magic are you interested in learning about?
Kimi Walks up on stage to talk to Eda.
Kimi: I am good with Illusions, but I also have a passion for Abomination Magic as well.
Eda: You see the great thing about the University of Wild Magic is while most schools you would have a boring ordinary schedule of classes that you would have to follow every day here you get to make your own path quite literally.
Luz walks up on stage to talk to Eda.
Luz: And how exactly do we do that Eda?
Eda: I am so glad you asked Luz to allow me to demonstrate.
Flying stone tablets come into the room and fly all the way up to the stage in front of Eda.
Eda: So, say you are into illusion magic the stone tablet will automatically morph into the schedule of Illusion Magic classes and that's why this is called the Witchway tablets they also have several other handy uses, but for now there just important for getting you from class to class. However, for now it's time to meet the teachers here at the University of Wild Magic and you're going to want to make sure you have a Witchway tablet with you for the rest of the tour.
As the crowd leaves the Assembly Hall to get their Witchway Tablet's Eda looks at Luz and Luz walks over to Kimi and Auqkwell.
Luz: I will be out in a minute. Look at my luck it's not even the full first day yet and I am already in trouble with the principal.
Kimi: Okay well don't take too long.
Kimi and Auqkwell leave the Assembly Hall leaving Luz and Eda by themselves.
Luz: Wow that was an amazing presentation Eda this is already such an amazing school and those cool looking Witchway tablets did you make them yourself.
Eda: I'm glad you like them kid, but that's not why I wanted you to stay behind.
Luz: Okay so then what did you want to talk about.
Eda: That girl who spoke up how much do you know about her?
Luz: Oh, Kimi I mean I just met her today, but she seems practically harmless I don't think we have anything to worry about with the two of them.
Eda: Are you sure about that?
Luz: I mean they didn't really share that much with me. I mean Kimi said her parents are sea explorers, but aside from that I don't know anything.
Eda: All I'm saying is just cautious okay you never know what somebody could be planning and I don't want anything bad to happen to you kid.
Luz: Thank you, Eda now let's get back out there.
Eda: Sure, thing kid plus good news Gus is one of the first stops on the tour for extracurricular programs.
Luz: Seems like this is going to be a fun tour.
Eda and Luz leave the Assembly Hall and walk into the hallway and Luz is stopped by Kimi and Auqkwell.
Kimi: So, what happened Luz is everything okay.
Luz: Yeah, I am doing great now let's just continue with the tour.
Luz, Kimi, and Auqkwell go and catch up with the rest of the students in the tour. Meanwhile, Nakia, Leo, and Danai are Leading Sprig, Ivy, Polly, Amity, Alador, and Darius to the Monkey Kingdom.
Ivy: Are we sure this is a good idea Sprig?
Sprig: What are you talking about Ivy? Once we get to The Monkey Kingdom, we will find a way to help the people of the Forgotten Zone?
Ivy: I get that, but they weren't exactly the friendliest to us to begin with so what makes you think that we can find something here that can help them.
Sprig: Well, we can't turn back now there is clearly some bad blood going on here and if we can help make things right between humans and monkeys that's what we got to do.
Ivy: And what about the Lions, we don't even know what part they play in all of this?
Sprig: Your right and no matter what happens we will figure it out together just like we have always done.
Sprig smiles at Ivy and Ivy looks at him lovingly.
Ivy: I know you miss Anne, but just remember you can't fix everything.
Sprig: I know, but when somebody needs help you help them, that's just what you do.
Ivy: You know I must admit I do have my doubts about what will happen next, but having you by my side has been one of the greatest adventures in my life, so whatever happens next I will always be by your side.
Sprig: And that's why I love you.
Sprig and Ivy kiss each other, and in that moment, everyone stops moving.
Ivy: Wait, why did we stop moving?
Polly: I mean the two of you were kissing it's not like you can do both at the same time.
Danai: Like that matters the only reason we stopped is because we are here.
Sprig: Is that true.
Nakia: Yes, we are welcome to The Monkey Kingdom.
Nakia pulls down a rope that rings a bell that opens the two huge wooden gates, and everyone walks into The Monkey Kingdom.
