Episode 2 : Wondercolts Forever . Part 8 , Re-Do Forward .
Rose focused inward. It took a good deal of concentration. Almost entering a zen like state. But she found it. The moment in her past. She then Demanded herself in that moment. That too, took effort, conscious thought to push herself out of time, and fuse with the moment. However, Luna had long since given her the knowledge how to do it.
Opening her eyes, she found herself in bed... feeling an overwhelming sense of deja vu. Knowing that was normal. Her sleepy mind slowly caught up with everything she did yesterday... and everything that had happened months in the future.
Not quite following Luna's advice, she went back to her first night here. The day after she met sunset.
She was in a luxury hotel room. which she had been told, day one, was reserved for guests to the realm. Susan was nearby, in her own room.
It took a moment for the cloudy feeling to go away, as her minds fused together. But when she was fully merged, she calmly sat up.
Apparently, she could only send her conciousness back to moments when she was sleeping.
Shaking the last remaining fuzziness out of her head, she sat up. Looking around, before hearing a knock at the door. Getting out of bed, she pulled on her night robe, and walked to the door. The room was only slightly bigger then your average bedroom.
Opening up the door... Rose found Susan on the other side... holding a box of Donuts, and a couple coffees in a drink holder.
"How was your first time?" Susan asked as he pranced inside.
"My first what!?" Rose gaped.
Susan rolled his eyes, "Loading. I felt the temporal shift." He placed the donuts on the desk, and handed Rose one of the coffees.
Susan's own coffee seemed to be sugary cream, with only the slightest taste of caffeine. But strangely, he got Rose's Coffee exactly how she liked it... besides Rose not yet telling him how she took it. Luna did mention Susan would maintain a level of awareness, of what was going to happen in the coming days... that make this easier.
"Unreal," Rose took a sip of her coffee. Careful not to burn her tongue. Not that it would, as it was more out of habit. Like all food here, it was the perfect temperature.
"Came back a bit far, don't ya think?" Susan took a careless gulp, of her coffee like substance.
"I'm sorta on a dead line."
"How this universe progresses, has nothing to do with how other universes do. For example, today is still Luna's Birthday."
Rose frowned, then sighed. "And Time Travel just stopped giving me headaches."
Susan smiled, taking a donut out of the box. Chocolate coated, with cream filling. He did like his sweets.
With a shrug, Susan agreed. "Interdimensional travel can get complicated fast." then Took a bite.
They enjoyed their breakfast, got dressed for the day, then made their way to the school.
"You know. My first Bi-Generation is having trouble adjusting to adulthood." He informed on their walk.
Rose and Susan often talked about random things, on the walk to and from the school. It was too the point they were discussing personal things. and just kinda picked up where they left off... 10 months in the future.
Susan sighed. "So I've been talking with Celestia about sending him here. As an exchange student."
"Is he really doing that bad?" Rose asked.
"He's... not quite right. He might not be a fae, but my fae magic can trigger some odd mutations in my Bi-Generations. Smartie is... a paranoid schizophrenic with autism and OCD. He's also my most powerful medium... which doesn't help that he can't tell if he's actually seeing ghost, or hallucinating.
"I got him on a strong potion regiment. And need to take some myself so future Bi-regenerations won't develop such mental disorders.
"... he can't really... function, on his own. So Luna thinks Celestia can look after him. and even repress his schizophrenic tendencies, due to being regressed to a child. Grandfather is for it... but I don't know... seems cruel to just lock him up in this golden cage. I'm sure he has SOMETHING, he can contribute to Time Lord Society."
"Have you asked him what he wants? Just because he's crazy doesn't mean he doesn't have opinions."
Susan looked thoughtful, "I'll ask. I know he feels like a burden, cuz he's currently living with the Doctor's 5th Bi-Generation... and when he tried to live on his own, the one time, he kinda became homeless for a while. Before we found him incoherently muttering to himself, on the streets of some backwater.
"This might be the best place for him... better then an institution, at any rate."
Rose gave hesitant nods. Not really having much issues with mental illness in her family. This place would probably be good for the boy, but it wouldn't be that different then locking him in an institution... it be his family saying, they didn't believe the boy could survive in the real world... regardless, it wasn't really Rose's place to condemn this dimension.
They found Sunset, already working on the dimensional canon... with Twilight, and a green girl called Lyra... and...
"Grandfather..." Susan whispered, seeing a younger version of the 11th Doctor... He looked all of 13, and still had baby fat in his adorkable face.
"Susan?" The boy tilted his head. Not really seeing the other Time Tot's own face. Rather his Gallifreyian Senses caught sight of Susan's soul. The Doctor sighed. Then started to process someone even deeper. "No... you're not my Susan..." he looked so depressed it was soul crushing.
Then he shook his head, and forgot why he had been depressed. It looked like he was focusing hard, trying to force himself to remember the past, while not actually wanting to remember.
Then the Doctor's eyes landed on Rose. She wasn't familiar with this incarnation, but it was clear he knew her. His eyes spoke the truth, this could only be the Doctor. "Rose, from a Canon verse if I'm not mistaken. Intriguing meeting you here. I felt a temporal distortion, and felt compelled to check it out. I imagine that was you two?"
"Celestia gave us a head's up." Sunset gestured at herself, then Twilight and Lyra. "She gave us the blue prints, and told us a few ideas our future selves were working on... it wasn't much, and most of them were missteps."
Sunset gave Rose a calculating look. "Probably a good thing you came back here, mighty warrior. We can do things right, from the beginning." Then looked at the Doctor. "You willing to help?"
The Doctor sighed. "I don't know much about magic."
"I thought your Gallifreyians, Specialized in Techno-magic." Lyra looked thoughtful.
"I am NOT unclouding my memories. I spent 42 BILLION years, fighting in Luna's Army. You think I wanna remember that shite," The Doctor groaned rubbing his head. "It's bad enough, memory clouding only partially works on me. But it's enough to know I couldn't cope without it."
• 42 Days since Rose entered Celestia's Realm.
Calling it a day, Susan walked Rose back to the hotel... given both were staying there, until Rose managed to escape. Susan could come and go as she pleased. However, since Rose entered without an invitation, it was harder for her to leave. Bloody fae magic, it was so irrational in how it worked.
As they walked down the street, Rose got the nerve to ask. "So your a sliver of soul, from 42 Time Lords, from each of the 42 Clans?"
Susan shrugged, "That's essentially it. I have all their raw experiences and knowledge. But I'm missing their actual memories. While I'm a duplicate of the Master."
"You have nearly 18 hundred parents. Bloody hell Christmas must have spoiled you." Rose cracked an awkward smirk.
"Only the Master raised me, and then only in my current life. In my original timeline, I was raised in a communal home. With the children born from looms. Nowadays, families will adopt these children. Gallifreyians may be polyamorous, but significant-others don't really have a say in how children are raised.
"Luna manipulated things, so the Master raised me, and then the Doctor took me on as my 'Grandfather', during my naming ceremony."
"She later gave me the ability to keep the same face. But as a Byproduct, I Bi-generate every 13th regeneration. A few of my Bi-Generations, have Bi-generated. It's not like a meta crisis, that is a sliver of 1 or more souls. But rather we share the same soul, one soul, inhibiting several different bodies. Can be a bit of a rush if i just let myself feel it.
"So I gave this power to the Doctor. Wanting him to experience the universe as I do. Since then he's Bi-generated 42 times. By Rassillion, is he careless with his lives. One of my faces died the other day, and regenerated into a child... it makes it 42 times, that face has regenerated... after 42 thousands years..."
"We are worried something big is about to happen. 42 is appearing way too much." Susan groaned.
"Luna told me it's a sign God is interfering?" Rose wasn't sure if she believed that.
"It's more then that," Susan shook his head again. "When 42 happens this often, it can only be Omniva screaming warnings at us."
"And... there are 42 doctors running around," Rose realized.
"And then there is you," Susan eyed.
Rose blinked, "Me?"
"You're the 42nd champion, Celestia alerted Luna to. The 42nd champion, to enter without invitation. While not all joined Luna, she is near desperate to claim you. For you... are the 42nd time '42' appeared in this chain. Sure there have been more since then but you are the most significant.
"Something is coming. The gods are screaming at us, with their warnings... and you are at the heart of it all.
"The stars are going out..." Rose thought she realized. "All over my multiverse, the stars are going out."
"With respect... it's not just your multiverse. In 42 cosmoses, each with 42 multiverses... the stars are going out. Entire dimensions are being erased. Something is happening in your native reality. Something that threatens our entire Omni-Verse. We need to get you back there. Find out what's going on. And you'll need Luna if you hope to stop it."
Rose was too frightened to offer objection. "It took 42 days for me to accept your help... and today marks the 42nd you've been helping." she realized.
"The warnings won't stop with you, but you are at the heart of them." Susan sighed. "I was scared to tell you this, because frankly, it's too big a deal that I managed it now... but we shouldn't ignore the warning."
Susan pulled out the Dimension Canon. "I completed the enchantments, exactly 42 minutes ago... I don't think we should waste another second."
Regardless Rose hesitantly took it, wanting to say goodbye to the friends she made... but realizing she literally didn't have a second to spare... she activated the disk.
