After what seemed like forever the thunderstorm stopped. Kerchak and Kala went outside first to make sure it was safe. Kala saw the sun shining and a rainbow in the sky.

"Alright," Kerchak said, "You can come out now."

Moonlight came out first. Terk followed her and the rest came out after them.

"Momma," Terk asked her mother, "Could I play with Moonlight?"

Terk's mom looked at Kala and Kerchak.

"As long as you stay near the nesting spot," Kerchak said.

"No rough play either," Kala added, "She's only 3 months old."

"I promise," Terk said, grinning widely.

Terk played with Moonlight for about 3 hours before she climbed into the nest and fell asleep. Terk climbed into the nest with her and fell asleep next to her.

Moonlight woke up laughing.

"I dreamt that I was playing on the pretty slide in the sky," she told Terk.

"That's called a rainbow," Terk said.

"How does it get in the sky?" Moonlight asked.

"My mommy says GOD paints the sky with rain and makes a rainbow," Terk replied, "I don't know if that's true or not."

"Do you know what my daddy thinks?" Moonlight asked.

"He thinks that GOD does magic tricks in the sky to make rainbows," Terk said.

"I can't wait to meet GOD," Moonlight said.

"You don't have to go to heaven to meet GOD," Terk said, "All you have to do is talk to GOD."

"Will He answer me?" Moonlight asked.

Terk smiled.

"He'll talk to your heart," Terk said, "Or She will. I think GOD is a she."

"Really?" Moonlight asked, "Why do you think that?"

"Girls are gentle. Boys are tough. They have to be to protect us all."

"You're pretty tough," Moonlight said.

Terk laughed.

"I've seen guys be tough," she said.

"Is that how you learned?"

Terk nodded yes.

"But GOD protects us all," Moonlight pointed out.

"Yes. She does protect us all. GOD created us all."

"Did she make the leopard sad?" Moonlight asked.

"GOD doesn't 'make' anyone sad," Terk said, "Things happen that cause them to be sad for awhile and then they get better."
