Sitting on a cliff overlooking the woods below, Marius heart was the mixture of anger and grief. He heard small footsteps approaching him and he turned his head to see Fitoria standing behind him.

"Marius, listen to me." said Fitoria.

"You remembered all of it?" said Marius.

"I can sense it... Before another Time Reset occured I make sure to sent my aspect to other realms with memories of our encounter."

Marius grunted and turned his head away.

"Listen I can help you-"

"Help? Now you want to help me!" furious, Marius stood up to confront Fitoria, "If you had help ealier my son would still be alive!"

"Marius..." Fitoria let out a sigh, "I am truly sorry for your lost."

"I made a promise to him that he would see his mother! But now he's dead, Fitoria! My son is dead because you would not help!"

Marius's raised voiced echoed through the woods.

"Apologized all you want... Nothing..." Marius eyes begin to swell up, "Nothing we do can bring my son back..."

Fitoria looked down in regret, "I know... I wish I could have done differently..."

Marius grunted and headed back towards the sanctuary. On his way, something large and soft collided with Marius, throwing him a few feet away. Marius quickly summoned his spear as he recovered but saw Filo in her filolial form approaching him instead and immediately lowered his weapon.

"Sorry. Filo didn't see Spear Guy." said Filo.

"You are hunting, yes?" said Marius

"Mmhmm. Filo saw a monster running here just now." Filo pointed her wing at an animal footprints leading towards the bushes.

"May I join your hunt?"

"Spear guy wants to help Filo?"

"Yes. We will bring in more meat if we hunt together."

"But what if master finds out?"

"We will keep it a secret. Any prey that I hunted, you may claim it as yours."

"Really!" Filo's eye sparkled with joy, "Master's going to be happy!"

"Indeed. Now you lead."

"Okay!"

Back in the Sanctuary, Naofumi had began cooking and waited for Filo to bring him the extra meat.

Meanwhile, Marius's party helped with keeping the filolials away. Soon, Filo arrived with mountains of slayed monster on her back.

"Put over there." said Naofumi.

"Okay!" Filo set the hunted monsters down on the ground next to the kitchen station.

Then, Naofumi saw Marius putting down a sack of herbs and vegetable near him. The two stared at each other before Marius walked away.

Naofumi then noticed the spearhead was covered in blood then look at the dead monsters and noticed some of them have stabbed wounds instead of claw marks.

"Filo." said Naofumi.

"Yes, master?" said Filo.

"Were you with Marius while in the woods? And don't lie to me."

"But Spear Guy let Filo have more prey."

"I don't care how kind he is, stay away from him!"

"Just let him be close to her already!" Rino shouted before realizing what she did then hid behind the filolials.

Naofumi looked at the rest of Marius's party members, who paused for a moment then continued with their work.

Marius entered the very same ruined temple that houses the abandoned hourglass, which stood at the same spot covered in dust and debris. As he stood there alone he remembered the event that took place afterwards further fuming his resentment towards Fitoria.

He then turned around and saw the mural of the warrior of the past who wielded the Spear of Zeus along with the rest of the weapons. Then, Marius formulated a plan.

Filo's trial went on, as Marius anticipated. And he had not need to worried about her. He used this opportunity to disappeared from sight and looked for the Spear of Zeus.

Inside the temple her looked around and found the only way that was not blocked by debris. Walking closer, he saw a set of stairs leading down a dark hallway. With a torch in his hand to light his way, Marius climbed down the stairs towards the darkness

On the wall were murals depicting the many past events before the current age. As he walked further, Marius saw more murals. This one told the events during the previous Four Legendary Heroes.

And amongs the heroes that followed them, one donnes the familiar armored warrior wielding the lost three spears.

Marius stood still, observing the image of the said hero before moving forward. As he walked further, he saw the many battles the past heroes fought till he saw the mural depicting the death of the wielder of the three spears.

Marius marched forward until he reached a crypt at the very end, with a sarcophagus carved in stone. Above it was the very set of armor the warrior wore in full display, covered in dust and rust.

However, Marius cannot find the spear nor the shield around. Frustrated, he turned around but was caught off guard by the presence of Queen Fitoria.

"I know why you are here, Marius." said Fitoria.

Marius drew his spear and prepared for a fight, "And what will you do?"

Fitoria reached her hand out and the Spear of Zeus materialized out of thin air, "I know nothing I say nor do will make you forgive me..."

"Why do you aid me now?"

"The spear need its worthy wielder, and I was a fool to deny it. Now take it. The weapon is yours."

Marius reach out for the weapon and as soon as he grabbed the weapon's shaft, the GUI appeared with a new notification.

THE SPEAR OF ZEUS ACQUIRED

WEAPON MERGING COMMENCE

The Legendary Spear float away from its sheath then into the Spear of Zeus before merging with it in Marius's hand, glowing bright as it become one and slowly morphing into a new weapon.

The once fancy design of the spear now transformed into a form that was more intune with its current wielder. The shaft remained as the hard wooden rod that was fully accustomed to his grip and the spearhead now slimmer and much sharper, save for the jewel of the Legendary Spear as the centerpiece of the bladed tip.

With a slamming of the spear on the ground, Marius looked at the spear with approval, now ressembling a weapon that reminded him of home and no longer the reminder of his suffering.

"This... Will suffice."

"No. You will need one more thing." said Fitoria.

And suddenly, Marius's old left vambrace disappeared and in its place was a bronze vambrace adorned with greek and filolial engravings.

"What is this?" Marius observed the new armor piece before going back to Fitoria and found her walking towards the sarcophagus.

"It will be improper for hellenic sons to go to war without his shield."

"A shield? Wouldn't the spear have rejected it?"

"Not with the Spear of Zeus."

A message appear on Marius's GUI with the symbol of the round shield.

SYSTEM OVERRIDE

Marius readied his arm then concentrated and then, the vambrace expanded and a round glowing translucent shield emerged. Marius lifted the shield up and felt no weight beside the vambrace's metal.

"Will you tell them?" Fitoria turned around to face Marius, "Will you tell them the truth?"

The shield returned to it's real form and Marius lowered his arm, "But will they believe me? Will she love me when I tell her?"

"That's yours to find out. Filo's trial should be done by now... After the celebration, then you may tell them."

And with that, Fitoria became completely ethereal then vanished from thin hair, leaving Marius to himself. The centurion stood there silently before walking towards the sarcophagus, gave his respect to the deceased warrior then turnt around. As he was about to leave, he felt a gush of cold wind behind him. Marius turned his head to see nothing before he continued his way out.

The Spear Hero party watched on as Filo completely her trial and was crowned the next queen of all filolials. They were then joined by Marius after he left the underground tunnels.

"Where were you? You missed the fight." said Elena.

"I have already witnessed the fight itself... Partially." said Marius.

"Oh, right. You already knew."

Rino then noticed the spear's new form, "The spear. It looked... Different."

"It is still the same weapon. But better." Marius then watched Filo trying to get rid of the cowlick just like before from afar.

"I have decided... I will them the truth." said Marius.

"About time." said Elena.

That night, the celebration went just as well as he remembered. Marius braced himself and approached the Shield Hero party.

"Naofumi." said Marius, "I promised you an answer. Now you will have it."

Naofumi hesitated but stepped forward, "Right... I'm all ears."

Marius took a deep breath then began to speak, "I am not the real Spear Hero."

"What?" Naofumi saw Marius's companion stepping in to support their leader, "Is this true?"

"Yes."

Naofumi chuckled, "This is gotta be a joke, right?"

"No." Fitoria joined, "Tell them everything."

Naofumi looked at Fitoria then back to Marius, "Then what happened to the real Spear Hero?"

"... In his journey, he founded a way to reset time itself. And he abused such power to change his fate for his own gain... So I stopped him."

"... Where is he now?"

"Dead... I killed him. I had no other choice. But there is more." Marius stepped closer to Naofumi, "All of that happened because of you."

Naofumi's eyes widen in shock, "What are you talking about? I didn't do anything!"

"Because you do not remember... The time reset and so does the memories. But I remember. I remember what you did. You betrayed us... You betrayed Raphtalia... And you killed Filo."

"What?!" Naofumi turned his head towards his slaves with concern.

"That's not true!" Raphtalia shouted, "That's not master Naofumi!"

"Master?" Filo said with a feared tone, "Will master kill Filo?"

"I..." Naofumi turned back to Marius then grabbed the collar of his armor, "That's enough!"

Marius could hear his companions about to stepped in and he raised his hand to halt them.

Naofumi turned to Fitoria, "This has to be a lie! Right?"

"It's the truth." said Fitoria, "I'm sorry."

"No... How could I? Why would I do that?"

Marius grabbed Naofumi's hands and pulled them off his collar, "I do not know... But I am intent to stop that as well. Now let me speak to Filo."

"Why? What does she has to do with this?"

"Everything... Let me speak to her. Please."

Naofumi glared at him as he moved away and Marius slowly walked towards Filo who was sitting on her throne.

"Filo... You do not remember it. All the memories we had before it happened... You choose me as your mate."

"M-Mate?!" Raphtalia blurted, "Does that mean-"

"Yes. I was her lover."

"You believed all this?!" Naofumi looked at Marius's party and then to Fitoria, "And you seriously letting this!"

"Let him finish." said Fitoria.

Marius then knelt infront of Filo then gently held her hand, "I did all that to bring you back... To bring everyone back. Our home... Our friends... Our family... And our ... But doing so have only distance you from me..."

Marius fought the strong urge to pull Filo into his arms and kissed her after being separated for so long. But he instead got up on his feet and he looked back at Filo with tears swelling in his eyes.

"I do not know if you felt the same love you had for me before... Yet my love for you still holds... Had I know... I would have hold you in my arms one last time..."

And with that, Marius turned around and left, even walking pass his party member as he made his way towards his old resting spot away from the others.

"Should we-" Rino exclaimed.

"No." said Elena, "Let him be for now."

"Master..."

Everyone turned their heads toward Filo.

"Why would master wanted to kill Filo?" said Filo.

"Master Naofumi... Are you really going to betray me?"

"None of that's gonna happen!" said Naofumi.

"Shield Hero." said Fitoria, "Let me speak with you... And her."

Sitting alone on his old spot, Marius held the wooden Filo figurine in his hands. He looked at it and all the memories he had before the Time Reset played in his head.

Soon, he dug a small hole on the ground before putting the small figurine inside. As tears began to form on his eyes, he shoved the piled of dirt and buried the wooden figure in like a burial.

Tears fell on the small mount as he let all his sadness go, grieving over the lost of another family he still hold dear.

"You didn't told her about Icarus." said Fitoria, emerging behind him.

"I wanted to spare her that pain... But what does it matter if she does not love me in this new life. I promised Icarus he will see his mother and I failed... At the very least he was spared from meeting his mother who never know her own child... But I still love them... All of them..."

"I've asked them to give you another chance. It's the least I can do. Yet I can't change their minds should they reject my request... I'm sorry, Marius... I tried all I can to ease your pain."

"... You've done enough."

Fitoria left Marius to grieve by himself. The pain of loss was so great that he did not notice small footstep coming towards him and stopping just beside him.

"Spear Guy?"

Marius's teary eyes widen and he turned his head to see Filo crouching beside him.

"Spear Guy was Filo's mate before?"

"Yes. Yes, I was..."

"Do we do everything together?"

With a small smile, Marius wiped his tears and turned his body towards her, "Yes. We travelled together, fought together and we eat together. And that carriage was out first home."

"Spear Guy know about Filo's carriage?"

"Yes. I helped steered and fixed the carriage. And even guard it."

"Really? But, why did Spear Guy leave us? And why Filo don't remember who Spear Guy was?"

Marius let out a small chuckle, "You did not paid attention, did you not?"

Filo shook her head, "No. And Filo didn't get it either."

"... A bad man separated us and make sure everyone forgot about me. So I killed him. But..." Marius sighed and looked away.

"Spear Guy? What's wrong?"

"If you could give me one last chance to have you back... Would you give it?"

"Of course!"

Surprised, Marius immediately turnt his head, "Y-You will?"

"Mmhmm. Spear Guy has been kind to Filo. Cooking Filo's favourite food and helping Filo gathered meat!"

"I... Perhaps I did."

"But Spear Guy hasn't apologized to master and big sister yet."

"Then I will do it tomorrow. Before our next journey."

Filo then gave Marius a hug without hesitation and protest.

Feeling her warmth again, Marius held her in his arms and tears started flowing from his eyes.

"Yay! Two wagons for Filo!" said Filo, excited after Fitoria lended them two wagons for two hero parties.

"No, it's not." said Naofumi.

As Marius happily watched Filo with more hope, he felt Elena's hand on his shoulder.

"So, how it goes?" said Elena.

"We are not together yet. But my chances are better now." said Marius before he approached Naofumi, "Naofumi."

Naofumi turnt towards him, "What?"

"I am sorry for giving you trouble. Especially the one regarding princess Malty."

"So you knew she was lying this whole time."

"From the moment we were summoned, yes."

"Then why didn't you stop her then?"

"If I do, Filo will not be born. And you will not find Raphtalia."

"... So you did all that to brought us back?"

"Yes... We were a family, Naofumi. You brought me in when I was lost in this world. Our new fate may have separated us but I will find a way to reunited."

"... Alright. So what happens next once we reached the border?"

"I will handle it." And with that, Marius turned around to return to his party.

"I guess in a way." said Raphtalia, "He did us a favor."

"I guess so." said Naofumi.

As Marius made his way back to his party, Fitoria stopped him in his track.

"May I speak to you before you go?" said Fitoria.

"You may." said Marius.

"Knowing the events that may fold in the future, will you abuse such knowledge for your own benefit?"

"No. But if necessary, I will try to prevent some events from happening."

"That I understand. But I'm afraid this new timeline may not stayed in the same path that you experienced. You taking the real Spear Hero's place may have already cause some affect."

"And how I will know things will not be the same?"

"You will know. But do what you have to do. For Icarus."

Marius looked at the sky, remembering his son from the moment he was born in an egg to him returning to aid Marius in the Time Reset, "For my son..."

"Icarus brought light to Olympus with his youthful enthusiasm and his willingness to learn from all of us. He sacrificed his life to save his father, an heroic act that will save his place in the fields of elysium. His mother may have been a fat ostritch, but he is an Olympian like the rest of us."

Ares took a sip from his wine glass, tasting the liquid before swallowing it, "So, do you like my eulogy?"

In the centre of a stone temple was a pool where Icarus was submerged inside and the large wound inflicted by Motoyasu on his chest was slowly healing.

"I thought so. I haven't seen Olympus this gloomy since Orpheus and Eurydice. But I'm sure everyone will be happy once you come back. But for now, I'm keeping your survival a secret."

Ares then summoned a cane from thin air, "Now, would you excuse me, I have to go make some preparations."
