Chapter Five.
A few days later, Sam Fujiama was working in the lab and Quincy was sent to Dr. Asten's office. The doctor's boss was sitting at his desk, glaring at him. "Quincy, who is that in the lab when I walked in? And I could have sworn that it was that woman with brown hair with the other two men earlier." Asten said firmly, but he was also wondering who Kaya was. Quincy's boss saw O'Brien with brown hair earlier as well with the two men talking about James' body.
Kaya was waiting right out side of Asten's office. She was sitting in one of the chairs. Asten's secretary was working on some paper work. O'Brien could hear Quincy and his boss arguing about why she was there. The secretary looked at her and she gave her a smile. "If you don't mind me asking, ma 'am." She said when O'Brien looked towards her, waiting patiently for her question to ask her. "How in the world did you get your hair colors and your eye colors? I find that very amazing." She said to her.
The witch chuckled softly at her with a soft laugh. "Madam, you would not going to believe when I tell you this." She told her and the secretary looked astonished and she told her to 'try her.' Kaya laughed. "The hair colors of my hair are the colors of my family's coat of arms. I was born with them." She said to her and the secretary's jaws dropped to the floor in stunned surprise.
She looked at her with interest. She leaned over her desk towards her. "I can tell that you're a witch of some kind." She said in a whisper. O'Brien's eyes brows raised up to her hair lines. But she smiled any way. The secretary chuckled. "Don't worry, ma 'am, I won't say a word of this to any one. Because you want to know why?" She asked her. Kaya grinned at this. She read her mind through Occlumency that the secretary herself was in face a witch.
O'Brien leaned over towards her. "What wizarding school did you go to, Madam?" She asked her quietly. "The school I went to is Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry and I was in Gryffindor." She added. The young woman told her that she went to Ilvermorney and she was in Wampus. Kaya found this pretty fascinating. They were talking in good conversation.
Just then, both Kaya and the secretary heard the speaker go off. "Sylvia, please send Miss O'Brien in to my office please. We have a lot to discuss." Asten said from his office speaker. Sylvia looked up at her and Kaya nodded her head in understanding before she walked in to his office. The moment she walked in to the doctor's office, she saw Dr. Quincy, who was sitting in a chair across from his boss.
Quincy looked at her and he grinned when he saw Asten's eyes widened and he was shocked when O'Brien took out her wand. "Colloportus." She said as she waved it towards the two doors and they were now locked. "Do not need to worry, Doctor. What ever says in this office. Stays in this office." She said and Asten was just about to interrupt. "Even your secretary knows of what I am. She is a witch as well." She said with a smirk on her face. Quincy's eye brows raised at her words when he grinned.
Asten's eyes widened at her words. He then composed himself. "All right, O'Brien, you have my word and your secret is safe with me." He said with a nod with a promise. "Is there a reason why you would be here?" He asked her. He wanted to know. Even though, Quincy had all ready knew why she was here in Los Angeles to find the answers about James' death.
Kaya nodded in understanding. "I was hoping to help Dr. Quincy here." She said as she turned her head to glance at Quincy, he gave her a small smile. "To help him find the answers to who killed James Carlton and I have a very good idea of who that may be." She added. Dr. Quincy totally agreed with her right there. She hoped that Quincy's boss agreed to have her help him investigate the death of James Carlton.
Asten stared up at her and he was pretty curious about what her intentions were. "Are you really sure you can find the killer out there, who killed Mr. Carlton?" He asked her.
O'Brien told him that she could. "Not to worry, Dr. Asten, I have my sources. Namely Albus Dumbledore." She told him with determination.
Dr. Asten had to agree with her. "All right then." He said before turning towards the doctor. "Quincy, you and Miss O'Brien get out there and find the answers you need." He said with agreement. "And I won't say a word to any one about what you and Sylvia are." He added with a promise. And he gave Kaya and Quincy a small smile on his face.
O'Brien was still standing when she saw Quincy stood up from the chair. The doctor looked at her. "Can you get us out of here, Kaya?" He teased her.
Kaya looked at him straight in the eyes and she gave him a tender smile. "Of course, Dr. Quincy. I will open the way for you." She teased back towards him. She lifted her wand and she pointed it at the two doors. "Alohomora." She added as they heard the doors clicked unlocked. Asten was still sitting at his desk. He was amazed at what she could do with all of that magic. Both Kaya and Quincy walked out of his boss' office with their smiles on their faces when they heard Asten said 'oh, good grief."
That night, Quincy parked the Coroner's car in front of Danny's restaurant. Kaya was not really used to the car rides. She saw that Quincy was a pretty good driver. Kaya would prefer the floo net work and the apparition. O'Brien and the doctor were sitting at the bar table, talking.
Quincy got to know her better before Danny came over to where Quincy and Kaya were at after he served his customer at the other end of the bar table. "Hey uh, Quincy, who is this lady here sitting with you? And please don't tell me that you parked that meat wagon out side in front of the doors here." Danny said to his friend.
Danny wanted to know about Kaya. He saw her unique hair and eyes colors that he never saw before. O'Brien lowered her head when she snorted as she laughed at this. The doctor looked at her and he gave her a soft glare, but he chuckled a long with her. Quincy knew that parking the Coroner's car out side in front of the restaurant would drive Danny crazy. He turned to his friend. "Oh, don't worry about it, Danny. I'll get the car out of there when we leave." He told him. "Danny, I would like you to meet, Miss Kaya O'Brien from Ireland." He said.
Kaya introduced to Danny. "Hey, but your accent sounds like that you're British though, Miss O'Brien." Danny said to her. He was interested in her ancestry.
But Kaya softly laughed and she told him. "Danny, I am half Irish and half British. My father was from Ireland and my mother was from England. It is very interesting though." She said to him with a wink of her eye and she grinned. Danny now understood and he gave her a smile. Quincy,
O'Brien and Danny started talking in good conversation. They were becoming good friends.
After they ate their dinner, Quincy paid Danny for Kaya's dinner and they both walked out side before they climbed in to the Coroner's car and they took off towards the doctor's boat. When he placed the car parked out side of his boat, Quincy and O'Brien climbed out of the car and they went over the stairs that goes up to his boat. Kaya saw that Quincy's boat was pitch black darkness in side. He turned to her. "Can you put on some light, Kaya?" He asked her softly when he was joking her. He wanted to see more of her magic.
Kaya smiled lovingly at him when Quincy saw that O'Brien took out her wand. "Lumos." She said with a little wave of her wand and the tip of it lit up brightly enough, so they could see where they were going. The doctor found this fascinating to see her magic before they walked in to his boat.
While they were in his boat, Quincy turned on the lights and he showed Kaya around the small areas in side. "Nox." O'Brien said when the light went off of her wand. Kaya took out her trunks from her pocket and she placed them on the sofa before they were getting ready for bed. The doctor watched her as O'Brien waved her wand to turn her trunks to their normal size. She pointed it at the lock on it. "Alohomora." She said as the lock clicked at the trunk opened up and she took out a pair of pajamas that had her Gryffindor colors on it.
She waved her wand to transfigure her clothes to her pajamas. Quincy was falling for her more. O'Brien placed her wand on the counter right next to his bed. Kaya and Quincy were sitting on his bed, talking about their long and interesting day. Kaya was also falling for Quincy even more.
The doctor made the first move when he closed the distance. He saw that Kaya was not pulling a way what so ever. So Quincy leaned in much more. All up until, they both closed their eyes when their lips touched gently. He laid her down on his bed with out breaking their kissing.
After a few moments, they broke their kiss. O'Brien Quincy were looking directly at each other. "Let's get to bed, Kaya. It's been a pretty long day and hopefully, we get to sleep in tomorrow." He told her in a whisper and she agreed. Quincy pulled the covers over them before O'Brien rested her head on his chest. Kaya raised her right arm. "Accio wand." She said just when her wand flew right in to her hand. Quincy looked her in to her eyes and he knew that she would keep the two of them safe.
The doctor wrapped his arms around her close to him. O'Brien held her wand just in case any one intrudes. He could hear her chanting the Protego charm to place a shield ward over his boat wandlessly. Quincy sighed with content. "Don't you worry, Kaya, No one is going after us." He told her. O'Brien agreed when she chuckled at his words. They both closed their eyes and they fell asleep in to each other's arms. Let us see what the day may bring to the next day.
