{Author's Note 01}
Hello peeps, I have come up with a Harry/Susan one this time. This is a prequel snippet of 'A Gilded Emerald.' My first novel length story.
The updates might not be as frequent as Drabble Odyssey, but I promise that I'll not keep you waiting.
Like always, don't forget to leave a feedback in the reviews and tell me how you feel about my work.

After a very tiring session of the Defense Association, Harry Evans and Susan Bones share a very uncivil moment.

Pairing:- Harry Potter/Susan Bones
Briefing
Susan signed as she watched her peers disappear into the dimly lit corridors of the castle, her eyes darting from corner to corner to check if everyone had left the floor. She turned to her hell, convinced that all of her peers had left, and pushed the door to enter the room of requirements.
The room was exactly like it was a few moments ago. Draped in darkness, held up by pillars on either side of the room, and lit up by the many bright beams of moonlight that were creeping inside the room through the arched ceiling, disappearing into the horizon, The walls were still old, dusty, and weathered. The only change was the 'L'-shaped couch that was glued to a corner of the room, and resting on it was Harry Evans. He had his infamous smirk on his face.
"Don't you dare say anything, Evans." She warned him, but the latter only snorted in response and settled on the other end of the couch.
"I wouldn't dare say anything, Suebug." He said it with mock sincerity. Susan rolled her eyes at him.
I have that nickname because of you. She thought irritably. Because I trapped myself into this whole mess thanks to you. Susan's eyebrows furrowed, and her frustration became evident on her face.
"Anthony is a very nice guy." she said softly, pulling the most theatrical smile that was in her arsenal.
"You know, I have never stopped you from badmouthing me," Evans expressed, throwing a rueful grin towards her. "But every time you think ill of me, your thoughts touch my soul."
"Piss off," she scowled at him. Of course, why would he care who I spend time with or who I date, as long as his ends justify the means?
"You are welcome." He winked at her, raising his eyebrows in mock grandeur.
Oh, I wish I could wipe that smug smile off your face, Evans. "Are you done? Can we begin duelling now because I have to go to sleep."
"Easy there, Bones." He replied, his humor had completely faded away. "I just taught your little beetle band a very valuable lesson. It takes time to recover after performing so many monitoring charms at once."
"You can always teach us in person." She suggested solemnly.
"I don't plan on dying anytime soon." He paused "Besides, they'll leave the moment they learn that they were being taught defense by me," He finished with a dry chuckle. "Don't you agree?"
"Well, I would have never asked for your help if Neville was here." Susan admitted hesitantly.
"Does Longbottom know what I have taught you?" He asked her. The question hit Susan like a dart, and she couldn't help but wonder whether Neville would have taught them all that Evans had taught her.
"He's not here, so it doesn't matter." She replied and was met with a dubious look from Evans. Although I wonder what games you are playing, seeing as you have been teaching us useful things that you couldn't have and we wouldn't have known.
"Like you said..." He began, "If Longbottom was here, you wouldn't have asked for my help, and yes, I wouldn't have helped you either if you didn't have something that I need." Susan shuddered to think what was going on in Evan's mind.
"Neville isn't selfish like you."
"He is even more bigoted than you strike me as," Evans said with disdain. How dare he. Susan clenched her fists. How dare he call Neville bigoted, while he himself is the embodiment of a dark wizard. "I am not saying that I am not selfish, but I think he's bigoted."
"If he was bigoted, the entire school wouldn't have been praying for him to come back and save us." Evans chuckled at that.
"Everyone except Slytherins," he told her. "I don't think Longbottom will think twice before he captures Slytherins and throws them in dungeons when he comes here with the order." Susan blinked. How does he know about the order? Oh right. She remembered. It must be common knowledge in Slytherin circles.
"One can never trust a Slytherin completely." she murmured, "Didn't your parents tell you, the type of things they do to muggles and muggle borns." Evans's eye twitched, and Susan's eyes widened as she saw him clench his fist. She had never seen Evans angry, and even now he was hiding it very well.
"So your parents taught you to leave eleven-year olds in chains because their parents are criminals?" He inquired, standing up from his side of the couch and walking towards her. "Did they?" He pressed.
"Don't talk to me as if you don't take pleasure in bidding for the Carrows." Susan remained persistent.
"I do it to survive; so do you." He stated. "I never saw you say no to them either; I haven't seen you talking to a muggle born for the past seven months we have been here."
"That's different…." She gasped.
"Is it?" He asked her. "Afraid of a few crucios? Where did your honor go now, Bones?" Susan gulped. He was now standing right in front of her, looking down at her. His words were ringing inside her head. "What is stopping you from stepping in?"
"You know very we-well what will happen the moment any of us get caught trying." Susan muttered.
"Hmm?" He hummed, "So Just remember, regardless of our deal, it was I who taught you advanced defensive magic, A Slytherin."
—The end—
{Author's Notes 02}
That's it for this one. I hope you enjoyed reading it. There isn't a Harry/Susan dedicated pairing server that I am aware of so I am afraid there isn't much to say in this one apart from leaving a review, because they help me improve a lot and understand where things are going wrong.
