Izuku lied asleep on the floor.
There were only four beds provided for the room seeing as there wasn't an adequate amount of space for five.
They had all tried giving him their beds but he had refused. When they had insisted he sighed.
"Look." Izuku had said. "I'm the second in command. I can't take the beds of my team."
"Well what about mine!?" Ruby asked.
"I can't take the bed from the real leader of the team."
Izuku lied comfortably on the pillow.
"Wa-" Ruby said before Izuku pulled on her arm, dragging her to the ground and covering her mouth.
Ruby blushed crimson as Izuku fell asleep again holding her in that awkward position.
Ruby squealed in embarrassment as she looked pleadingly at Yang and Blake.
"Help me!" She hissed at them.
Yang snickered and pulled out her scroll.
Izuku grumbled in his sleep.
"Awe he's talking in his sleep!" Yang coed as she started recording.
"K-Kachan..." Izuku mumbled.
"Kachan?" Blake asked confused. "Is that the name of someone he knows."
"He never mentioned anyone like that."
"I-I'm... So... Sorry." Izuku muttered. Tears started leaking out of his eyes.
Ruby's eyes were wide as she listened and watched Izuku.
Yang grimaced and turned off the Scroll.
Blake was confused.
"D-dad..." Izuku said. Suddenly his breathing started to get faster and faster.
"Izuku wake up!" Ruby yelled shaking him.
Izuku jolted awake.
In the next second Blake and Yang were holding back Izuku's fist, keeping it from landing the intended blow on the red haired girl that was pinned to the floor.
His eyes seemed to empty as he slowly started taking in his surroundings.
"W-What?" He asked confused.
His eyes landed on Ruby who was pinned under him a look of utter fear on her face.
Yang and Blake let go of his arm and he stumbled to his feet.
"I-I'm s... I-I didn't..." He started to breathe quickly again.
Before any of them could react he ran out of the room as fast as he could.
Yang, Blake, and Ruby stood there for a few seconds trying to comprehend what had just happened.
Izuku rushed out to the side of the building where no one currently was and began puking.
After a few minutes he eventually ran out of stomach fluid to upchuck and he started to try and calm his breathing.
'W-What was that!?' He asked himself as he thought back to the dream.
It had started out with Katsuki joking at his expense before shifting to his dad leaving.
And then after that he just saw a large red vein filled eye. And not seconds later he was holding Ruby on the ground trying to hurt her!
"I-I almost... I-I could've..." Izuku's ragged breathing was interrupted by the voice of Ozpin.
"Mr. Midoriya." Ozpin said and Izuku froze. "Are you alright."
"P-Professor." Izuku said shakily, turning to face the silver haired man. "W-What are you-"
"I came to deliver you your new weapon." He said. "To replace the broken one you have. I went to your dorm and your team explained what had happened... Would you like to talk about it?"
"... I-I don't know what happened sir." Izuku said. "O-One moment i-it was just a typical n-nightmare b-but then... There was this veiny red eye staring at me... and then... I was holding Ruby on t-the ground o-oh god I almost hit her!? What's wrong with me?"
"An eye you say?" Ozpin said and Izuku swore he could see a look of concern on his face for a split second. "Did you feel anything when you looked at it?"
'What I felt?' Izuku asked himself. "I-It was like... It was examining me... trying to analyze me... b-but not the way you do sir... it was like... it was figuring out the easiest way to kill me."
Ozpin sighed.
"I know you've figured your eyes are special... but I don't think you know how special they are Midoriya." Ozpin said. "You and Ruby... are most likely Humanities last chance against the Grimm."
"W-What?" Izuku asked. "I-I'm not... I can't. I-I' just... Deku."
"You're Deku huh?" Ozpin asked. Izuku was shocked and looked at the man. "Have you heard the story of the Four Maidens?"
Izuku's eyes widened.
'Oh god he isn't drafting me is he?!' "U-Uh yeah... mom used to tell me it before... It was about the four women who were given gifts by a powerful man. Magic."
"Yes." Ozpin said. "Before that though... there was the story of the Man and Maiden."
Izuku grew confused.
"What?" He looked at the man. "I've never heard of that."
"It's not likely." Ozpin said. "It was lost to time. But it was about a brave but weak man. He lived in a village on the verge of extinction. So every day he would walk into the forest and try killing the creatures of darkness. One day he was ambushed. They had gotten sick of his attempts to end them, not caring it was a futile effort. The man laid there dying and the creatures were about to end his life. The man who was useless in his endeavor."
Izuku gulped.
"W-What happened next?" He asked.
"He was saved by a beautiful woman from the forest." Ozpin said with a smile. "The woman would watch as that useless man would walk into that forest every day with determination to kill the creatures of darkness. Despite the city's hatred of this woman she saved the man and healed him up in her small house. After waking up the man asked why she had saved him despite being ostracized."
Izuku listened intently for the answer.
"'You gave me a glimmer of hope.' She told the Useless man. Watching him go into the forest everyday made her hopeful for the worlds future. The woman, brimming with hope, walked out with a glow around her. It somehow repelled the monsters." Ozpin said. "But... The woman grew greedy for it's power. So she asked and begged the gods to give her more. And they granted her request giving her power over the ones she fought off of the useless man. She, the woman who was filled with hope from the useless man grew ever powerful. The useless man, seeing the woman who had saved him fall so deep into greed asked the gods for power."
Izuku blinked and Ozpin frowned.
"But because the man was useless they declined him." He said and Izuku's eyes widened. "Instead they cursed the man that ever time he reincarnated that he would be useless... but instead of being down the useless man took it in stride and chased after the woman that had once saved him."
"What happened after that sir?" Izuku asked.
Ozpin sighed.
"Unfortunately that's where the story ends." Ozpin said and Izuku's eyes widened.
"W-What?!" Izuku said confused.
"Yes." Ozpin said. "They say that to this day that useless man is still chasing after the one who had once saved him to right what was wronged. Do you understand what this story means?"
"I... No I don't!?" Izuku said confused. "You just confused me more sir!"
"My apologies." Ozpin said. "But... Later please come to my office and tell me whether you've figured it out of not Midoriya. I'll give you a small hint though. You're in the tracks of the useless man. Not in an offensive way. But I'm sure you understand that."
Izuku slowly nodded. "Yeah..."
"Right then." Ozpin said reaching behind his back and pulling out a green and black metal... box?
"A folding scythe?!" Izuku said looking at it. "W-Why are...?"
"It was designed by Qrow himself and Glynda had one of her closest friends forge it for you." Ozpin said and Izuku blinked.
Izuku shakily went to grab it but as he went to pull it away he met resistance.
"Take this with heed Midoriya." Ozpin said. "This is a sign of us teachers putting our faith fully in you. That's why I made you a co-leader for your team. We know you'll become strong."
Izuku sniffled and nodded his head.
The heavy scythe unfolded in his hands.
It was larger than he was and the blade extended out seven feet.
"It's a highly customizable shotguns scythe." Ozpin said. "Now I believe that your team is worried deeply about you."
Izuku gulped.
"Izuku!" Ruby yelled as she tackled him in a hug.
"I-I'm sorry." Izuku apologized.
Ruby hugged him tighter.
"What happened though?" Yang asked confused. "I'm still not sure."
"I don't know either." Izuku admitted. "I... had a talk with Ozpin though... Manipulative bastard."
"Manipulative?" Yang asked.
"Yeah..." Izuku snorted. "When I met him a few weeks ago he was all like. 'Either come to my school or I'll throw you in prison for being in Vale without citizenship!'" He mocked.
"Why would Ozpin do that?" Blake asked.
"Because I have 'potential'." Izuku mocked again. He sighed. "Anyway... what about classes?"
"Uh..." Ruby ran to her bed and pulled out a folder. "Our first class started... twenty minutes ago."
Izuku sighed. "Guess I'll take the blame. Let's go."
"Being so late to your first day of class doesn't look good you five." Professor Port said making Izuku wince.
"I-It's my fault sir!" Izuku said.
"Alright then." Port said. "You five will have detention though."
"Yes sir." Izuku said.
"Go to your seats." He ordered and they all did so.
Class continued for about twenty more minutes before Port asked a question.
"Who here thinks they have all the traits of a huntsman or Huntress?!" He asked.
Weiss raised her hand.
"I do sir." Weiss said.
"Alright then." Port said. "Please come up here with your weapon."
Weiss nodded before exiting the room and coming back in a few minutes later, changed into her battle skirt and holding Myrtenaster at the ready.
Professor Port walk over to a cage holding a Boarbatusk and sliced of the lock causing it to rampage out towards Weiss.
Weiss went of the offensive and struck the boarbatusk but her blade was caught by its large tusks.
"Weiss watch out!" Ruby yelled unhelpfully.
"You got this Ice queen!" Yang encouraged.
Blake just waved a little flag that said RWBIY.
"You got this Weiss!" Izuku said.
The boarbatusk threw Weiss weapon to the side.
"Oho ho!" Port said. "What shall you do without your weapon?"
Weiss summoned a glyph under the boarbatusk freezing it in place.
Weiss ran and grabbed her weapon as the Boarbatusk got out of the glyph.
"Aim for its belly Weiss!" Ruby yelled. "It has no armor there!"
"Stop telling me what to do Ruby!" She screamed looking at Ruby, giving the boarbatusk ample time to start rolling in a saw like fashion towards her.
Weiss dove to the side avoiding the boarbatusk that could have shredded her.
"Ugh!" She screamed in frustration. She summoned a glyph under the now still boarbatusk before jumping into the air and using a second glyph to dive and stab her rapier into the beasts belly killing it and turning it to smoke.
"Well done!" Port said. "Well done indeed! It seems we have a true huntress in training on us!"
The bell rang and Port coughed.
"Alright all of you." He said. Make sure to read the assigned readings. Good day."
Weiss looked at Ruby and scoffed before walking out of the room.
"W-Weiss wait!" Ruby said as she ran out after her.
Izuku sighed.
They'd be sorted out by Ozpin...
Right?
When no one was looking Izuku activated stealth and walked out after them.
"Weiss what's wrong with you today?" Ruby asked.
"You Ruby!" She yelled "You're whats wrong!"
"B-But what happened to working together as a team?" Ruby asked as sadness etched into her.
"Not on a team lead b a brat who has to get saved every other second." Weiss scoffed as she walked away. "Ozpin made a mistake."
Izuku gulped and looked around.
"Go talk to her." He heard and he flinched turning around. Ozpin was standing there looking at him expectantly. "I think what you have to say will benefit more than what I do." Izuku was astounded. His stealth now had a sixty percent chance to go undetected. Ozpin spotted hm in a second.
Izuku nodded and walked over to Ruby who was crying.
"R-Ruby?" He asked softly.
"D-Did Ozpin make a mistake Izuku?" She asked looking at him. "Putting us as the leaders."
"... Maybe he did." Izuku said. Ruby choked back a sob and looked down. "But I'm sure Ozpin knows what he's doing. He's a manipulative bastard after all! He probably has a great reason for putting you as the leader. To keep me in line. I mean... look at m? I'm a thief and I'm here. I can barely hold my own against a regular Ursa. But... I think that's why he put you as the leader. Your... likeable. I don't think I'd be able to stand a team with Ice queen as the leader. It'd be way to organized... and I'm rambling... sorry."
"I-It's fine." She said with a sad laugh. "I know we suck."
"No." Izuku said. "You're learning. Back in Vacuo... I had a friend named Kachan... he was really rude and very aggressive but he was the leader of our little group. at first he sucked... But then he started to learn and we id as well. If Ozpin made a mistake with the leading of this team it's with me. Not you Ruby. So chin up. Weiss is just used to getting what she wants cause she's an heiress."
Ruby looked up at him.
"You... really mean that?" She asked.
"Absolutely..." Izuku said. "Besides... You're like the only one who can teach me how to use a scythe since Qrow isn't always there..."
"Really?" She asked amused.
"Okay to be fair we both know I'm not good at this." Izuku said with a sweat. "But you know what I am good at?"
"What?" She asked.
"Helping my friends." Izuku said. "So after I do a little errand we'll both study for our next test the entire night alright? We'll be the best leaders we can be."
Ruby looked at him.

Izuku ignored the message.
"Alright." She agreed.
"Good!" Izuku said pulling her into a hug. "Then later we can prank Weiss for being so mean alright?"
Ruby giggled and nodded.
The two of them walked to their next class.
Ozpin stood there.
"Hmm..." He said. "I've never seen what comes from two silver eyed parents..." He was mumbling. He turned and started walking back to his study. "I can't wait for your answer to my question Midoriya."
Izuku slowly rode the elevator all the way up to the headmasters office.
After a few minutes of rising the elevator stopped rising and dinged, opening the doors to see Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch standing there talking.
"Mr. Midoriya?" Glynda asked. "What are you doing here?"
"Worry not Glynda." Ozpin said. "He's come to answer a question I asked him. I believe that with your look you understand the story?"
"I... I think so Professor Ozpin." Izuku said walking forward towards him. "The story about the Man and Maiden..."
Glynda's eyes widened and she glared harshly at Ozpin.
"Is... It's about how power can corrupt those that don't know what it means to be powerless right?" Izuku asked.
"Hmm?" Ozpin asked. "How so?"
"O-Oh." Izuku said. "When the woman asked the gods for power and was granted it. She was actually being cursed... and the man who was denied and cursed... was actually blessed... So he would always have hope of defeating her."
"I see." Ozpin said. "So that is what you got from the story Mr. Midoriya?"
"I-I uh..." Izuku was nervous. "Y-Yeah."
"Alright then." Ozpin said. "Glynda seal the elevator."
She nodded and waved the crop in her hand. A purple glow covered the elevator.
"Tell me Mr. Midoriya." Ozpin said. "What do you believe is your semblance?"
"M-My semblance?" Izuku asked. "I-It's healing right? W-When the death staler stabbed me... It was healed in less than a minute."
"Yes." Ozpin said. "But... I believe that something even greater lies within you. Some power far stronger than your semblance."
"Stronger than my semblance?" Izuku asked. "Is it... about my eyes?"
"Yes and no." Ozpin said. "Your eyes are strong yes... But there is something even greater than that. A nearly forgotten power that resides in you."
'What is he talking about?' Izuku asked himself confused.
"Tell me Midoriya have you felt as if there was an energy in you besides your aura?" He asked. "Something that when you ran out of aura charged it for a second or two?"
"... Now that you mention it." Izuku said. "My aura did regenerate really fast yesterday during initiation. Do... Do I have two auras or something?"
"Nothing so plain I'm afraid." Ozpin said. "Why do you hide your eyes?"
"W-What?" Izuku asked. "O-Oh um... My mom... she said that I need to hide them or else someone would find me. She was killed by someone the next day after she kicked me out..."
"I see." Ozpin said. "So there was a silver eyes I missed. You see Midoriya you and Ms. Rose are special. But you... you're a lot more special than she is. You... well you're the first recorded male to ever have silver eyes. And that is what I believe gives you magic."
"..." Izuku looked at him confused. "Magic?" He asked.
"Yes Midoriya." Ozpin said. "And quite a lot. Please step forward. I promise to not hurt you in anyway. I merely wish to unlock your magic."
Slowly Izuku walked forward and Ozpin set his hand onto the green haired boys head.
Slowly a glow started to form around Izuku.
"Congratulations!" His AI said. "By accepting Ozpin's offer you've unlocked the feat MAGIC. Magic. Magic can be used to cast SPELLS. Spells can range from replenishing your aura to summoning a golem made of lightning and lava! It can also be used to make existing abilities that run off of Magic stronger such as 'Stealth!'. You gain more Magic the higher your intelligence is. When you are a high enough level you can behold magic to others in your party. (Current Party: Izuku, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang.)"
Izuku gulped as he took a step back.
"W-Whoa." Izuku said. "I feel weird."
"That is the magic coursing through your body." Ozpin said. "Now I believe you should head back to your team Mr. Midoriya."
"C-Can I... Can I tell them sir?" Izuku asked.
Ozpin looked at him. "I believe it would be better left up to you than I as they are your teammates. However I believe you should do it after you are capable of using it well. Tomorrow we will begin lessons on how to use magic."
Izuku nodded after a gulp.
"M-May I ask something sir?" He asked. "A-Am I in danger now that I know this?"
