Those stupid Gryffindors would not leave her alone. They wouldn't stop teasing her, and she didn't like it. Abraxas was with his friends, and didn't want his sister hanging around him. So Alcina had to sit all by herself, in an otherwise empty compartment. She had been enjoying the quiet, watching the landscape as the train raced down the tracks. Everything had been fine until three boys from Gryffindor came in. The boys had teased her, and then tried to kick her out of the compartment. When she refused to leave, they had taken her new kitten she had gotten as a gift from her father, and threatened to hex the poor thing if she didn't get out. Reluctantly, Alcina had silently taken her stuff and tried to maneuver down the moving train.

No one would help her, and she cried as she struggled to drag her trunk down the narrow passageway. They had all taunted her because she was a Malfoy, and couldn't defend herself. She went all the way to the back of the train, in the very last compartment. She looked in and really hoped it was empty, but of course it was occupied. A young boy with short black hair sat and looked out the window.

Alcina really didn't want to sit in the hallway, and she couldn't go back to the compartment with the older boys again. They would hex her cat! She took a deep breath, opened the door, and went inside.

"I'm sorry to disturb you, but do you mind if I sit here?" Alcina had said with tears in her eyes. She clutched her little black kitten into her chest.

"No," the boy said, and Alcina happily released the breath she didn't know she had held.

"Thank you," Alcina said and moved to sit on the other side of the boy. She sat down, and began petting her kitten.

"How much do you know about the school?" the boy had eventually asked.

"I know a little bit, what do you want to know?" Alcina said.

"When I was on the platform, someone was talking about houses. What do you know about houses? What does that even mean? Is it true that the staircases move? I have a lot of questions."

Alcina had answered all of his questions.

"I'm Alcina by the way, Alcina Malfoy." she had introduced herself.

"Tom, Tom Marvolo Riddle." the boy had said.

They had taken the boats to the castle together and remained together the rest of the way towards the castle.

"Which house do you think you'll end up in?" Tom had asked her when they stood in line waiting to be sorted.

"Slytherin, of course. Every single Malfoy that has ever been born has been in Slytherin." Alcina proudly replied.

"I hope I get in the same house as you." he had said, and then he was called.

The Hat had shouted SLYTHERIN, and Alcina watched as he walked over to the slytherin table. Then she was called up, she had been so nervous. But just as every other Malfoy that ever had lived, she ended up in Slytherin as well.

As Alcina climbed down off of the stool and walked towards the Slytherin table she just knew this was going to be a great year. After all, she already had a friend in her house. She couldn't wait to join her new friend Tom and learn magic together.
