Chapter 16: Confrontation Part 1

It's been several days since Yu and Rumi came over to visit Izuku. Suffice to say it was a great couple days together with his mates. Alas the girls had to go back to hero duty, which Izuku understood as school was now back in session. After getting dressed, Izuku left his dorm as he made his way to class. Izuku was seeing all the comments made at the sports festival, although he was still getting to know a lot of class 1-A he was glad to know that they put their best effort with the exception of one person in particular.

As Izuku was making his way to the classroom he noticed Ochako and Tsuyu talking with each other as they were coming from the opposite direction. Izuku figured he would make his presence known.

Izuku: "Ochako, Tsuyu! Good morning.

Ochako and Tsuyu saw Izuku jogging over to them with a smile on his face.

Ochako: "Good morning Izuku! You're here early?!

Izuku: "Oh, I don't think I told you guys but I have living arrangements here."

Tsuyu: "Kero. Living arrangements?"

Izuku: "Yeah, given my circumstance they figured it would be to monitor me and help me get accustomed to my surroundings after being experimented on."

Tsuyu: "That's understandable. If you ever need help with adjusting, please don't hesitate to reach out, Midoriya."

Ochako: "That's right! Were your classmates after all. I know you most likely have given up your dream, but you can always count on us to be there for you."

Izuku: "Thank you girls. It really means a lot to hear that. Also great job at the sports festival. You two really did your thing."

Tsuyu: "I definitely wanted to show more of what I could do. But alas I was as fortunate."

Izuku: "Don't sell yourself short, you did great out there trust me. You girls are definitely going to get internships. Everyone in the class showed potential."

Ochako: "You really think so, Izuku?"

Izuku: "Absolutely."

Ochako and Tsuyu smiled at his positive attitude. Despite all of what they heard Izuku had to go through in life up to this point, being experimented on, isolated for being quirkless, bullied by his former childhood friend, etc. Izuku was still able to smile throughout it all.

Ochako: "Izuku, you may not realize it but you're stronger than what you let on."

Tsuyu: "I don't think I'd have the mental fortitude to live my life the way you did. But through it all you still smile."

Izuku: "Oh by the way I brought some breakfast bars just in case, want some."

Ochako: "I'll have one!"

Tsuyu: "I'll take one as well!"

As Izuku took out 2 spare breakfast bars, giving them to the girls as they made their way into the classroom. One by one more of the classmates proceed to come in the room, each of them greeting Izuku with him greeting them back. It was nice to know that Izuku was in an environment where his classmates were actually friendly towards him, a far cry from what his middle days were like. Kirishima, Kaminari, Sero, and Mineta greeted him once they arrived in the class. It felt a little weird being the center of attention but Izuku didn't mind as he definitely wanted to get to know his classmates better.

He could tell each of them had their own distinct personality from each other. It was clear to say this class was a colorful bunch. Iida also walked in, as Izuku greeted him to which Iida responded back but Izuku could tell that something was bothering him. His demeanor wasn't like how it was at the sports festival.

Izuku: "Hmmm. I wonder what's wrong with Iida, he wasn't like that during the festival. Could something have happened? That no one else knows about? I'll have to ask later."

Todoroki finally made his way into the classroom as he and Izuku locked eyes with each other. Although they only had one conversation it was one that both sides needed to have. More so on Todoroki's part. As he made his way towards Izuku much to the surprise of the others.

Todoroki: "Midoriya.

Izuku: "Yeah Todoroki?

Todoroki: "I was wondering if you wouldn't mind coming over sometime to my house. My sister said she would like to invite you over for dinner."

Izuku: "Wait you sister? Why would she want me there?"

Todoroki: "Think of it as a thank you. A token of appreciation for helping me realize my mistake at the festival."

Izuku realized what Todoroki meant by mistake. With a small smile, he kindly accepted the gesture.

Izuku: "Sure thing Todoroki. Just let me know the time and day when I can come over."

Todoroki: "Of course. Anything for a friend."

As Todoroki went back to his seat, this came to as a surprise for the others as Todoroki wasn't really much of a people person from what they know of, so it was surprising to see him actively start a conversation with someone in the classroom. Aizawa Sensei finally made his presence known to the class.

Aizawa: "Good. You're learning faster to be quiet. I wanna say congratulations during the sports festival. Though some showed out more than others the class as a whole did an exceptional job. Now then we can get into talking about internships and finally coming up with your hero names.

As Aizawa showed the results of internships some got more than others, those being Bakugo, Todoroki, and Tokoyami being the top 3, however every student was able to receive an internship of sorts. Izuku smiled as he was happy for his classmates to achieve the next part of their dream of being heroes.

Izuku: "There's probably a different world where maybe my dream could've become a reality. But regardless, I'm happy with the people who have already made an impact on my live so far. I wouldn't change it for the world."

As Izuku thinks of his mom, Nemuri, Yu, Rumi, Ryuko, Aizawa, Present Mic, and Nezu. Plus his fellow classmates like Ochako, Iida, Tsuyu, Kirishima, Todoroki, Ashido, Yaoyorozu, and Jirou. Perhaps he could find a way of supporting them in their endeavors of being a hero in his own right. It was something he had on the back of his mind. Who knows what the future holds for him.

Midnight would pop into the classroom as she would take over for hero names as Aizawa wasn't one to do good with names. Something that made Izuku chuckle.

Aizawa: "Midoriya, while they are doing this, your needed in the teachers lounge for something rather important."

Izuku: "The principal? Oh alright I'll head there right away. Good luck with your names everyone."

As Izuku excused himself from the classroom, making his way towards the teachers lounge. Although this was confusing to Izuku as to what he would be called down there for. After a couple minutes of walking he finally made his way to the teachers lounge, knocking on the door he heard a familiar voice of someone he hasn't seen in quite a while.

Toshinori: "Come on in Young Midoriya."

Recognizing that to be the voice of the #1 hero. Izuku steeled his nerves as he made his way inside the lounge, though Izuku wasn't ready for other people that were inside as well. Izuku's face immediately turned into a look of anger as he saw his former childhood friend turned bully, Katsuki Bakugo sitting in the lounge as well, alongside AllMight. The tension in the room could cut steel like butter with the way Izuku was glaring at Bakugo.

Toshinori: "Young Midoriya, let's not do anything rash please. I know you have a past with Bakugo here and I feel as if it's important for us to resolve this matter as best as we can".

Izuku begrudgingly headed towards an empty seat that was across from Bakugo as his glare didn't waiver at all. As both sides glared at each other with pure hatred, Toshinori didn't think this was going to end well but he knew that some progress had to be made no matter how little it would be. But is Izuku's hatred for Katsuki going to allow for some sort of compromise or is that path or reconciliation dead and gone? There's only one way to find out.

AN: Been a while huh? Sorry about that. Writer's block can be a bitch but we are back at least on the weekends when I don't have too many assignments.
