Hey guys Novablade 67 here again! Back with another new take on the Flame and Crimson story. It's becoming like a mini universe of stories. Just think of it in the context of Xenoverse... like the Dragon Ball Super version of Goku and Xenoverse or Time Patroller Goku. Think of these stories and the main Oc like that.

Yang is the main girl, this time around so.. this should be a little interesting to write. Since I've done the whole Initiation test thing twice in 2 different stories, I'm going in a bit of a different direction this time. So i'll try my best to make the story interesting and not directly following the story of RWBY so much. I may still reference it for the main story events, but this.. will be a little bit of a different take on my first story.

Won't do character polls this time because I do have an idea of which characters end up together and plus... it's more fun to see the story dictate those outcomes. Anyways, enough of my rambling onto the story!

Disclaimer: I don't own the Characters of RWBY, Black Clover, or Dragon Ball Z/ Kai/ Super and their characters. I only own the Oc's and the overall plot of this story.

Chapter 1: Reunion with an old Rival?

Location: Beacon Academy

Time: Somewhere around 1 in the morning

Team Rwby had turned in for the night after a full day on campus. Our resident Blonde Brawler sleeping soundly in her bed. Or.. she was until she had a certain dream, causing her to toss and turn in her bed.

A/N: For context, this will be somewhere in between Jaundice and the beginning of the episodes in cannon titled "Black and White".

Within the scope of Yang's mind, she saw herself back on Patch. A younger version of herself and... a boy with dark blue hair were seen to be sparring or as they liked to say "play fighting". This younger version of herself was merely a child, probably around 7 or 8 years old. The mysterious boy with dark blue hair down to just above his shoulders was the same age as her. Yang wasn't sure how she knew that, but somehow, she just did. She saw herself within her younger self as she was knocked down again.

"No fair, Hunter! You hit too hard!," Yang's younger self complained.

The blue haired boy reached a hand down towards her as he smirked at her.

"Well if you didn't try so hard to take my head off, I wouldn't have had to hit back Yang.," The boy said. "And anyway.."

Yang raised a curious eyebrow towards him.

"It's Odyn, got it? Only my family calls me Hunter anymore.," The boy explained.

The younger Yang seemed to understand that and nodded.

"I still can't beat you in a fight...,"Yang said somberly.

The boy smirked at her.

"So? You're really gonna let one defeat from me sink you? Huh.. guess it's my win then.," the boy said antagonistically.

The blonde didn't know why, but something about that smug look rubbed her the wrong way. Her eyebrow twitched in annoyance at the boy's smug look towards her. This caused the girl to shoot towards her feet.

"Hey, I never said I wouldn't beat you eventually!," Yang said angered.

The boy looked towardsher again smugly.

"Ohh? You sure about that, blondie? It sure sounded like you were throwing in the towel to me.," He said again to irritate the girl.

An angry vein appeared on her head as she then spoke again, challenging him.

"ALRIGHT, THAT'S IT... YOU AND ME, PAL! LET'S GO!," Yang said angry.

The boy smirked as he shifted into a stance again just before the two charge towards each other again.

Time skip: 4 years later...

The scene picks up where it left off with Yang and the blue haired boy, now both teenagers charging at each other. Their legs clashed as they both threw kicks towards on another before going for an exchange of punches and kicks. Both defended their opponent's blows well before leaping back briefly. The two were older now, both 12 years of age. Odyn was seen to be smirking at the girl as he lowered his arms.

"Heh, not bad! Have to say you've gotten better over the last 5 years, Blondie.," Odyn said.

Yang smirked back at him.

"Well of course I have, I'm still trying to beat you after all this time. We've been sparring against each other ever since we were children, so of course I've gotten better, blue haze.," Yang replied to him.

Odyn smirked at the nickname Yang had given him. If it kept her drive up to one day finally beat him, then that was good enough for him. That said.. since they were such good friends, he did need to tell her something rather important. He'd bringit up after their sparring session. Then again.. where would the fun in that be? He then spoke up to his childhood rival. Although they were rivals, they were also good friends as themselves and their families had known each other for years since they were neighbors.

"Say, Blondie!," Odyn called towards Yang.

"Yeah? What is it?," Yang asked.

"There's something important I need to tell you , but first... How about a little bit of a wager?," Odyn suggested.

Yang raised a curious eyebrow as neither of them dropped out of their stances.

"Oh? What did you have in mind?," Yang asked curiously.

Odyn smirked, knowing that he'd piqued the curiosity of his friend/rival.

"How 'bout this? We'll have another match, but, the loser has to do any one thing the winner says.," He said.

Yang smirked back at the boy.

"Alright Odyn, I'm game. What are the conditions?," Yang replied.

Odyn nodded before explaining.

"If I win, you have to listen to what I need to tell as it's important, no matter how hard it may be to hear.," Odyn said.

Yang raised a curious eyebrow at this wording from her friend as it seem a little removed from his usual behavior. Yang thought about what her condition would be if she were to somehow and miraculously beat her friend/rival. When she thought about what her condition would be, she felt her face become slightly heated due to what it entailed.

A/N: No you nerds, Yang isn't confessing to Odyn that'd be WAY TOO FAST XD

"A-And.. if I win, will you listen to what I have to say to you Odyn... no matter how embarrassing it may be?" Yang asked fidgeting and playing with her hair as she lightly blushed.

Odyn nodded, but smirked.

"Yeah, I'll listen. But that's only IF you beat me. Which... may I remind you, has yet to happen.," Odyn said smirking. "Tell you what.. If you manage to land a significant blow on me, we'll consider that to be your win. I'll win if I manage to knock you onto your back."

Yang slightly pouted.

"Hey! I'll beat you eventually! Just give it some time... one of these times, i'll catch you off guard and beat you before you know it!," Yang said slightly pouting. "But okay, It's a deal."

Odyn chuckled.

"Right, right. Ready, Yang?," Odyn replied.

She smiled at him confidently.

"I was born ready!," the girl replied.

He took a small pebble and tossed it skyward. The rule they had established since they were kids was that when the pebble hit the ground, that's when the match would start. Not a moment before, not a moment after. A few moments later, the pebble hit the ground, and they both raced off towards each other. They met in a flurry of lightning fast punches and kicks. As Yang would punch, Odyn would counter with the same move. Both were evenly matched so far, each going toe to toe and blow for blow with each other. Both were seen to be smiling, a sign they were having a blast. A feint here, a knee there, a dodge, then a leg swipe before a powerful punch or barrage of punches in some cases... this was the pattern, the rythym of their match so far. In her years of sparring against Odyn thus far, Yang had learned a few things about him. One was that he absolutely HATED being belittled, mocked, and/or teased. That one was obvious, don't ever call him or his people "Forsaken", that was a danger zone. Secondly, she'd learned that he had siblings. Although she'd primarily spent time competing against, fighting against, and constantly trying to one up him, the blonde had never seen any of his other family members. So to learn that he had family was a bit of a welcome surprise to her. And the third hting she had learned about this boy was that despite his "trust issues" with people, he was kind, especially to those of the opposite gender. He was very polite to girls and preferred their wants/desires over his own. For some reason, she felt herself inwardly smirking at this. That was good to know, she could take advantage of that fact later on.

Back to their sparring match, Yang narrowly dodged a kick aimed at her midsection before it was followed up with a heavy uppercut that she was just able to block. The knockback from it sent her flying upwards before she righted herself, skidding on the ground, feet first. Steam came from her arms as she uncrossed them. That blow...

"Ow, geez! That one stung way more than the others he's thrown at me so far..," Yang thought to herself slightly wincing at the stinging pain in her arms.

The blonde readjusted her stance and came at Odyn once more. This divulged into another series of blows being exchanged, one of which actually managed to sneak through and nail him in the face. She was surprised at this and it was pretty obvious that Odyn was surprised too, judging by the look on his face. Had she...won against him? However, this laspse in judgement had earned her a punch in the face too as she went sprawling onto her back. The blonde of course got up angered before stormed her way over to Odyn.

"Ow! Odyn, what's the big idea?!", She asked angry.

Odyn chuckled which caused the blonde to pout more before she was seen to be cracking a smile and laughing.

"I never said I wouldn't hit back. (dusts himself off) Besides, You landed a mean right hook on me, so per the agreement.. You beat me fair and square.," Odyn said before offering a hand towards the girl to help her to her feet.

He offered her a towel and a bandage to clean her face with.

Yang widened her eyes, blinking, half in suprise, half in disbelief.

"Huh.., you're right. I did beat you... didn't I?" Yang asked half in disbelief.

Odyn nodded towards her.

"Yup, you did. Now, per our agreement, I have to listen to whatever it is you have to say. I intend to honor that. A promise is a promise after all. So, I'm listening Yang.," Odyn told her.

Yang noticeably stiffened before she cleared her throat.

"Eh- hem! Although I did beat you today, Odyn, I wasn't expecting it to come as soon as it did. So next time, I'll beat you fair and square with no conditions attached! And... We're friends right?," Yang said.

Odyn was seen to be nodding as he continued to listen to her.

"Of course we are, Yang. You're one of the only people I feel like I can be myself around and go all out against in a spar.," Odyn replied.

Yang sighed in relief.

"Then.. whenever we're older would you want to fight again? With the loser having to do whatever the winner says?," Yang asked.

Odyn looked at his friend before smirking.

"Of course, it'd be an honor to see how much stronger you are then. Not that I'd ever let you beat me again.," Odyn responded. "What are you getting at, Yang? It's not like you to be so serious in a conversation between us two before trying to crack a joke or two.."

Yang was a little bit nervous, but then decided to just ask him anyways. Odyn was her friend, so she was sure he'd understand where she was coming from.

"Well.. Is it true that you and your family are moving away?!," Yang asked a little upset.

Odyn sighed. He should've known Yang would find out eventually. He did want to tell her eventually, but this was sooner than he'd anticipated having to do so.

"I see you overheard my parents and your father talking about it. (sighs) Figures you'd find out. ," Odyn said.

"But why?! Can't you guys stay here with us on Patch?," Yang asked him.

Odyn softly smiled towards his friend/rival before he answered her question.

"My parents simply see an opportunity for myself and my siblings to better ourselves in a new environment. It's for the security of our people. They're going to be putting me in one of the combat schools in... Mistral I believe it is? Or.. maybe it's Vacuo? ," Odyn told her unsure of the specifics.

Yang hung her head in sadness. Her best friend/rival and sparring partner was leaving. Although she considered him her rival, the blonde also thought of the dark skinned and blue haired teen as her best friend.

"How long will you be gone?," She asked, her shoulders trembling slightly.

Odyn put a hand to his chin in thought, he honestly didn't really have an answer to that question. So he thought of an answer to satisfy his friend.

"Not sure to be honest, Yang. But... If I had to guess when I'd come back, I would say probably not too long after you're enrolled into Beacon.," Odyn said.

Yang looked up, tears in her eyes.

"I see.. You'd better not forget to write then, jerk..," Yang said rushing over to him and hugging the boy.

Odyn offered a smile towards his friend.

"Wouldn't dream of it.," He said.

Odyn then heard a voice calling out to him.Turning, the two looked and Yang had her first glimpse at Odyn's siblings. There were 5 of them, 4 boys and 1 girl. Not to mention another who's facial structure was remarkably similar to Odyn's own. The first was a boy with a lighter shade of dark skin, and he had lavender and blue hair with crimson highlights in it (Roy), Next to him was another boy. This one had more tan colored skin, cerulean blue hair and was a bit taller than the first one was (Banryu). Next to him, a boy with sky blue hair with lavender highlights in it, a purple scarf around his neck and pointed ears like Odyn and the others had (Ragnarok). A small girl with Lavender hair and burning orange colored eyes, wearing a simple blue dress was seen waving to Odyn (Sarai).

"Onii san, come on we need to go!," The girl said waving to her brother.

Next to her was a girl with lavender and black colored hair, she was seen smirking at him. This was probably the cousin Odyn had mentioned.

A woman was seen behind the kids. She had beautiful lavender colored hair with a lighter almost tanned shade of dark skin. She wore a long purple gown with blue robes and a small white jacket with matching heeled shoes.

"That must be his mom... Wow, she's pretty.," Yang thought.

Odyn looked towards his friend and smiled.

"Well, looks like I have to go Yang.," He said.

"I ... understand.." She says before suddenly hugging him silently crying into his shirt. "I'll miss you, Odyn."

Odyn gently brushed his friends hair as he chuckled.

"I'll miss my friend too, Yang. I'll write as often as I can.," Odyn said as the two teens hugged each other.

They separated shortly after as Odyn was then seen to be walking off, waving bye to her. Yang saw herself waving towards him as if in the third person view before a single thought ran through her mind.

"See you later, Odyn. Next time you see me, I'll be a whole lot stronger. And next time.. I'll beat you fair and square with no strings attached!," Yang thought as she waved bye to him.

The screen then fades to white, indicating the scene transitions.

End Flashback...

Yang then felt herself wake up soon after. Looking to her right, she saw the time: 7 a.m. That meant her other teammates would be getting up here soon, but she just couldn't go back to sleep after a dream like that. She then got out of her bed and quietly entered the bathroom within Team Rwby's dorm room. She quietly closed the door before making her way to the sink and splashing water onto her face to wake herself up. She then stared herself in the mirror for a moment.

"Why'd I have "THAT" dream? It's been 5 years since I've seen him... The letters i'd been receiving from him, stopped about 2 years ago.. I doubt he even remembers me anymore.," Yang thought to herself.

Truthfully, Yang had always been thinking about her childhood friend/rival since he moved away from patch 5 years ago. But over time, she'd slowly begun to lose hope that she'd ever see him again. That begged the question: Why was she dreaming about the past now of all times? It seemed very odd to say the least. Shaking her head, Yang then continued to wash her face before heading over to take a hot shower. However, she couldn't stop herself from wondering how her friend and his family were doing.

"Stop it Yang, It's been 2 whole years since you heard anything from him. He's probably forgotten about you and more than likely has someone else in his life now."

Yang told herself this, despite what her heart was telling her. Why? Why'd she have to think about him now?

Time skip: Later...

Yang had finished her shower and was now all dressed in her normal clothes. She was out and about with her teammates, near the docks of Beacon. Weiss had said something about going to check on the students arriving from the different kingdoms of remnant or something like that. Colorful banners and streamers in bright letters saying "WELCOME TO VALE!" were displayed all around town. Ruby was seen to be looking at her sister in concern, something was wrong. As the blonde had been a little "off" since that morning. She knew how Yang normally was, trying to come up with puns to just about everything and very relaxed. That wasn't how Yang was right now at all.

"Yang, is something wrong?," Ruby asked in concern.

The other girls turned towards her at the sound of Ruby's voice.

"Hm? Oh, it's.. nothing Rubes. Just thinking about something, that's all.," Yang answered only to see Ruby pout towards her.

Blake then spoke.

"No Yang, Ruby's right. Something is definitely on your mind. You haven't said much of anything since this morning. " Blake said.

Weiss nodded in agreement.

"I'm inclined to agree. You haven't been yourself since this morning, Yang. Something has clearly made you to be.. "subdued", very unlike your usual persona." Weiss said.

Yang sighed, knowing that her teammates wouldn't let her off the hook until she confessed.

"Alright, alright you guys win. I've.. just been thinking about something or.. someone that I haven't seen in a very long time. I had a dream about the past recently so.. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.," Yang admitted.

"Someone from your past?," Blake asked.

"And that you haven't seen in a very long time, eh?," Weiss mused.

Ruby looked towards her sister, she knew who it was that Yang was thinking about. She'd only met him personally one time before, granted it was when she was pretty young.

"Yang, are you.. talking about "him?", She asked curiously.

Weiss and Blake looked towards the silver eyed girl, then looked back to Yang. She sighed and nodded.

"Yeah... Every day I think about him. Though I don't know why, since the letters stopped coming from him 2 years ago.," Yang admitted.

Weiss then decided to speak up.

"Correct if I'm wrong Yang but... this is your childhood friend you're talking about, correct?," Weiss asked.

Yang nodded.

"I see..," Weiss said in thought.

Ruby grabbed the girlls attention when she noticed the broken window to their side.

"Woah.."Ruby said.

"What happened here?", Yang asked.

The girls then heard footsteps before Yang's eyes then widened in shock.

"An armed robbery, that's what.," A voice said.

"Milord, it seems they took every single piece of dust in this store.," A female voice said.

"(exasperated sigh) Hail, how many times have we been over this? Please don't call me that in public. It's just Odyn.," A male voice said.

When the girls looked over, 4 teens that they'd never seen before were seen walking towards them. The first one was a dark skinned girl with Chestnut colored hair, burning orange eyes, pointed... ears? That was weird. She also wore a red tunic with violet highlights, silver colored arm guards and shoulder pads to go with a curved sword in its sheath as she weilded what appeared to be an elongated spear of some kind.

"Apologies, but my station cannot allow me to refer to you in such a haphazard way.," The girl said.

A chuckle was then heard from the boy's left. It was revealed to be a lavender haired boy with crimson highlights that was similar in appearance to both the girl with the odd spear like weapon and the familiar dark blue haired boy in between them. This boy had skin just as dark as the blue haired boy and wore a blue and silver breastplate with brown pants, a red and purple cape, with silver shoulder pads, black boots, and green fingerless gloves. The sheath for his sword was red and gold with an ornate pattern on it, the hilt being teal blue and orange with a blood red gem in the center of the hilt. He also had a red headband tied to his forehead to finish off the look.

"May as well get used to it, brother. You know how Hailfire can be when it comes to things like this.," The boy chuckled.

Another voice then was heard, this one coming from a lavender haired girl in purple and gold armor. She had the breastplate, battle skirt, that was open for her legs that had silver shinguards on them, brown boots, golden wristguards that went up to her black gloves, a purple and black colored sheath which her sword was inside of. This was accentuated by the blue ribbon in the back of her hair and the owl feather ear rings that she wore.

"It would appear that they took all of the money without taking a single vial of Dust, my Lord.," Another girl said.

This girl wore green armor from the shoulders down, a giant hammer slung to her back... or was it an axe? Because to the girls it looked like both.

Yang apparently was a little too stunned as she felt herself gaping at the boy in the middle. The boy noticed her too, causing his eyes to widen in surprise.

"N-No way.."

Odyn was just slackjawed, not expecting to run into Yang here of all places.

"Odyn?!"

The scene then freezes, the others around them also surprised as the screen then fades to black.

To Be Continued...

Hey everyone RoseSaiyan2 here. Sorry if the chapter is a little shorter, just wanted to mainly set up Odyn's past with Yang mainly. Since Yang is the main love interest this time, certain events will play out differently in the storyline. Since the story kicks off near the end of volume 1 of the Rwby story, it may seem different from the other two stories. All of these stories with each of Team Rwby's girls being the main love interest for Odyn, each of them are set in the same universe, just alternate versions of said universe. They depict what would happen storywise for each of the routes: Flame and Crimson (Ruby Route), Flame and Ice (Weiss route), Sunshine x Blue Haze (Yang Route). I'll have to figure out what to call Blake's route (story in which she's the main love interest for Odyn). For this one, I'll be going with some different pairings aside from the main one (Odyn x Yang) this time around. Give me your thoughts on them as they are placed below:

Roy x Weiss

Baron x Ruby/Flare

Giblet x Blake

Shallot x Velvet S.

Valvaderhn x Jinjer

Xander x Emerald

Sun/Neptune x Hailfire

or

Baron x Weiss

Roy x Flare

Valvaderhn x Ruby

Xander x Blake

Giblet x Velvet S.

Shallot x Emerald

Neptune x Jinjer

Sun x Scarlett

Mercury x Aiko

Let me know what you guys think of those and i'll decide on who ends up with who. This'll be an interesting write for me as i'll have to think outside the box a bit for this one. Anyways, See you guys in the next update!
