Involving one that is not a glitch but which I have unreasonable hatred for plus a genuine glitch. That elevator is annoying.

They were calling it MissingNo now after Iono found some old forum posts from Johto with similar reality glitches. CrimsonChampionGuy28 claimed that after trying to find Mew under a truck, he ran into the strange Pokemon. Missingno also erased his Hall of Fame entry. Iono and Larry agreed that people claiming to be a champion were not necessarily telling the truth, but some of the other effects mentioned were similar and they added some ideas to the to-do list.

They were wondering why the guy called it MissingNo. That was until Larry checked his Pokedex entry draft for the critter. The glitchy mess was indeed missing even the number.

The baker and the sushi master were on a bench when Larry and Iono arrived. Between them sat a plate of pastries. Larry and Iono sampled it as Katy and the local leader explained their own experiences in Cascarrafa. Katy had come to visit Kofu to swap stories of kitchen mishaps and she tagged along to the anomalous spot. She added her stories to the catalogue of evidence. Both Kofu and Katie contributed to Iono's list of ideas to document/trap Missingno.

"See that elevator?" said Khofu

Iono looked at it. "Yeah, it's just the lift."

Khofu grinned. "Try standing in front of it without getting on."

Iono looked to Larry. What a suspiciously strange and simple challenge. She suspected the results would be undignified. "Hey, Larry, go do that."

Larry complied, or he tried to. He found that as he approached the elevator, he was compelled to step on. "Oh." He tried to turn around but he simply could do nothing but slowly board the elevator and wait in position. Other people might have freaked out. "My feet are moving on their own."

"You better not be messing with me!" Iono yelled back as she selected another mini muffin. Katy set aside one of each item for Larry.

"Honest. Now I can't move at all." Larry said back as he reached the middle of the lift. It was a bit muffled since he was turned around and the sound of water flowing probably drowned out his response. His feet were glued firmly to their position in the center of the platform. Larry was then unable to stop or speed up his leaving the elevator at the top.

Iono looked at the elevator and found that she was powerless to resist the Cascarrafa elevator's call once within a certain radius. She took a running leap and found her limbs locked into the same slow velocity once the critical area was reached. Katy helped them measure the effect's radius and they attempted variations of approaches to the elevator to see what would happen. Despite all efforts, the elevator approach velocity remained steady.

In the end, they could not help but feel unnerved by the elevator that could rob people of free will in this very specific way.

Mela was eating lunch when she got the text from Atticus. As she was the closest Team Star boss, she called a taxi and flew to his side to see the situation for herself. Atticus had found his love of old art did not necessarily clash with the more modern art Brassius favored and so ended up there for, what else, ART. There was a small festival this week and he was helping with the setup. Between Atticus and his crew, the festival was well-staffed with volunteers.

As the taxi approached, she was transfixed by the sight of the windmill blades ticking along as if they were second hands stuttering along a clock face. Was that deliberate? Some art installation? It was impressive how the blades seemed to instantly snap to each new rotation. Mela found Atticus and Brassius lamenting aesthetics at the Gym.

"Mela!" Atticus called from the gym lobby. "Grave misfortune has befouled the windmills!"

"Ah. So it wasn't supposed to do that?"

"Nay. Furthermore, Lady Luck robbed us of the beautiful aesthetics of the peaks yonder through means most vexing!"

Mela squinted at the mountains. They looked pretty normal to her. "Um..."

Brassius said, "It's easier to show you. Come over here. I hope you have a Pokemon with you for battle?"

"Uh, yeah?"

Atticus nodded. Never travel without Pokemon. Everyone knew that. "Mark ye the scenery there. Make especial note of the sight. Commemorate it with a photograph."

Atticus and Brassius had Mela stand in one specific spot before they initiated a battle. She looked back at the mountains. "HOLY-Where did it GO?!"

They took photos of the missing mountains then Mela sent the details to Iono. This seemed perfect for the investigation.

Artazon got really bad with the Sunflora crowd. Someone suggested the disappearing scenery and yeah, it's way too good to not include. Sorry I forgot to add this chapter! I put it up on AO3 and forgot to do
