Author Note: This is a rewritten version of Crimson Steel Storm. I did this because I thought about his abilities in Crimson Steel Storm and thought about it. For the plot I have planned and everything else, it would be better to have Kurama as his partner, as it should be.
This is simply a "test" to see if you all want this rewritten version or if you all say: Fuck this version and use the original further. It all depends on you all. What partner should Naruto have? Intetsu or Kurama? I will wait for your reviews or private messages.
The plot and everything would be the same, with the only difference being that Naruto would have Kurama as his partner and not Intetsu. Also, this chapter is chapters one and two from Crimson Steel Storm fused into a larger one.
Summary: "You know... I don't even care anymore." Naruto experienced so much shit in his life that he wasn't surprised that there was more to it. With all those weird dreams, the voice in his head, his fighting skills, he wasn't surprised. But something kept him going even after all those years. Dragons were legendary creatures, yet only mythical creatures in humans' eyes. They were massive creatures that were as majestic as they were terrifying. Some had large wings, walked on four legs, and, according to the stories, lived on mountain peaks. Some had long snake-like bodies and were said to live in rivers. However, they had one thing in common in humans' eyes: dragons were only mythical creatures. This was so and always would be.
In the world of the supernatural, however, dragons were quite alive. Whether it's the Dragon of Infinity, Ophis, Great Red, or the Five Dragon Kings, every supernatural being knew they existed. However, the two heavenly dragons were the most famous besides Ophis and Great Red.
The two rivals started a fight during the Great War and grounded entire masses of land during their battle. The two were also the ones who killed God and the former 4 Satans. All three factions of angels, fallen angels, and demons joined forces and destroyed their bodies. After that, the souls of the two were sealed in Sacred Gears.
However, their rivalry continued after losing their original bodies. No, it went on through the carriers of the Sacred Gears. Again and again, the owners of the Sacred Gears met and continued the battle of the rivals to show who was the stronger.
Even after countless generations of people, the bearers still carried the fight, and now it was time for the new carriers to meet and continue the fight. Who would emerge victorious from this long rivalry this time?
A volcano could be seen in the distance, smoke rising steadily. Lava flowed down the volcano on all sides and spread throughout the landscape. There was scorched earth everywhere, and flames were everywhere you looked. Amid this landscape, a majestic creature looked up at the gray sky.
In the sky, the creature saw an image of a girl with long black hair with spikes. The creature seems to be grinning. "Albion, you won't find the perfect carrier this time."
The image of the girl disappeared from the sky, and the creature lay down on the scorched earth and rested its head on one of its two claws. "I hope you'll find a suitable partner, Albion. Otherwise, I'm sure of victory this time."
The creature closed its eyes and began to sleep.
A young man was angry. He was 18 years old and in the third year of high school division students at Kuoh Academy. He had spiky blond hair, blue eyes, and six whiskers. This was Naruto Uzumaki, the legendary delinquent from Kuoh Academy. He wore a tattered uniform from the Kuoh Academy. The blazer and the shirt were almost non-existent, which gave a good look at his muscular upper body with many scars. He wasn't the legendary delinquent for nothing. He got into many fights outside of school and got many stab wounds in fights with gangs.
"Now I have to find another enemy who can kill me, dammit!" He was pissed… he was so fucking pissed. His entire life was a waste and a joke. He didn't have parents; he was always alone and was raised in an orphanage. He got kicked out because he always fought with the other kids. The kids were always making fun of his cursed whiskers. He hated his whiskers so much! It didn't matter how old he became; these whiskers always meant trouble for him. At some point, he had enough and gave the others a lecture with a good beatdown.
With time, he got a particular reputation. Naruto Uzumaki, the golden massacre. He got in so many fights that it was not even funny anymore. It was like he went from one gang to another to fight, but no one had a chance against him so far. Something about Naruto Uzumaki was not normal. It was like he was a master in not just one martial art style. He had a focused look every time he began to fight and moved like he had trained decades over decades to gain the experience to react to everything thrown at him. Even when he didn't go to a martial arts school, many recognized the martial arts he used. Taekwondo, Kung-Fu, Tai-chi, Jiu-Jitsu and other martial arts. It was like he could use some things from those martial arts.
Even when he was just 12 years old, he had already won against adult thugs in the town. He changed town many times and fought many thugs and gangs in the underground, but so far, no one could defeat him. With time, the fights got fewer because he became tired. No matter what he tried or who he challenged, he never lost. He didn't even know why he had these fighting skills. He never trained but knew everything he used in the fights. The blocks, the punches, the throws, and everything else. He could also see and judge people from how they attacked them. He could predict to a high percentage how they would attack him as if he would have fought in many battles. It was like he knew it instinctively, and his body acted alone.
Why wasn't it possible to simply die at the hands of a thug or another criminal? He didn't understand it. Even when thugs tried to use handguns or other weapons with the ability to shoot bullets at him… even against those he won. He used others as cover while he got closer to the person with the gun.
There were also these damn dreams he had almost every night about another person who got through hell in a weird village. The village was different from the cities in the modern world. He could see how people jumped from the street on roofs of houses without breaking a sweat or how a guy could unleash freaking fire from his mouth. These dreams made no sense to him.
He only ever saw short takes, and after that, the scenery changed, and he saw another scene in his dream. Everything was just a fucking mess. He didn't remember everything when he woke up, but it was always a little. One thing was for sure… whoever he saw in his dreams was living a shitty life just like his own. He got beaten down by many adults when he was just a little kid, and he never knew why those adults beat the guy he saw in his dreams.
There was also that fucking voice in his head sometimes. This voice was speaking to him when he had a little peace. Every fucking time he tried to relax after a long tiring day, the voice came up in his head. It always annoyed him. He couldn't even understand what the voice was saying. Everything was broken words that he didn't even understand if the voice was from a male or a female person.
"Tch," said Naruto as he saw the beaten man on the ground. He looked at his uniform and frowned at the sight. 'Now I have to go to the student council to get another set of uniforms. That was my last one… just my day,' thought Naruto.
He kicked the man just one more time because he was beginning to wake up. A good kick to his face instantly sent him into the realm of dreams. Naruto took his school bag and left the alley he was in right now.
He walked towards his apartment because he needed to change his outfit. Even when he was a legendary delinquent and only went to school for certain events, he still had enough decency to wear normal clothes while shopping. He had nothing to eat anymore, and he needed something. He had gotten hungry from the fight.
'SHUT UP!' thought Naruto when he heard this annoying broken voice inside his head again. It was like a broken record. It always said almost the same damn thing. He couldn't understand the voice, but it always said similar things.
He stopped while he yelled in his head. He waited for a few seconds, and when he heard the voice quieten, he sighed, a bit satisfied. He never tried to yell at the voice inside of his head. That could be the way to shut this annoying voice up.
'Huh?' Naruto didn't know what happened right now, but his vision became blurry. He didn't understand…, and his perspective began to change. The ground became dangerously close to his face while his vision darkened. A few people around him were talking to him, but he didn't understand them.
'Oh right… with all those cuts on my body, there had to be much blood that escaped through the wounds. I guess I didn't feel it because I was pissed as fuck…,' thought Naruto before his head crashed into the hard ground and he became unconscious.
No one saw how his body vanished, and everyone forgot that he just lay there. Naruto's body was still on the hard ground, but everything was different around him. The sky was weird… there was no other way to describe it. Dark colors were dancing in sync, and every cloud vanished. There were also no humans around him.
His body seemed to notice something because he opened his eyes one last time to look to his right side. His body had such a strong will to live that he acted independently. It was always like this. No matter what Naruto tried to do to himself, his body wouldn't allow it. When he tried to stab himself with a knife, his hands wouldn't move anymore, just a few centimeters away from his body. No matter how hard Naruto tried to force his hands to move closer to his body in this situation, they refused to listen. He hated his own body with his entire being. Why couldn't he simply die by suicide? He didn't understand it. Could he jump from a high place? Nope, his body froze and didn't move before reaching 5 meters near the edge. Could he poison himself? Nope, he couldn't even open the damn bottle where the poison was in. It didn't matter what he tried; he simply couldn't commit suicide.
Even when his mind wasn't inactive, his body still opened Naruto's eyes. Naruto's eyes could see a red light that appeared right before him, and shortly after, a woman appeared before him. The lips from Naruto began to form into a slight smile before the eyes closed themselves again.
"Naruto Uzumaki… I will give you a reason to live again. Don't worry, I heard your last wish before your mind went blank. You will continue to live, and I will grant you your deepest desire," said the woman before two bad-like wings appeared on her bag. A red magic circle appeared under Naruto's body, and shortly after, all of his wounds began to heal, and his golden hair seemed to be on fire.
Naruto opened his eyes and was confused. Wasn't he lying on the hard ground on the sidewalk? He was lying in a kind of forest. He stood up and looked down at himself. He was wearing nothing on his upper body and only black pants. Even his shoes were gone. 'What happened to me?' thought Naruto.
"Naruto Uzumaki," said a deep voice. Naruto turned around and looked around. "Who is there?" He only saw the forest, not a single person or animal around him.
"Naruto Uzumaki," said a deep voice again. Naruto furrowed his eyebrows, annoyed. "WHO ARE YOU? SHOW YOURSELF, YOU FUCKING BASTARD!" yelled Naruto. He began to get pissed again, and not just a little bit. He hadn't the nerve to deal with a deep voice that said his name.
He felt something. It was like something inside him was burning when he yelled the sentence. He doubled over in pain and got on both knees. His eyes were widened, and he gritted his teeth.
"Don't dare to insult me again, Naruto Uzumaki," said the deep voice.
Naruto began to smile a bit. "Or what? You kill me? Fine, do it, you useless son of a bitch," said Naruto while he looked up and deep into the forest. His eyes widened even more when the pain became even more inside of his body. He wanted to scream, but he wouldn't give this bastard his will. He would never bow down to anyone and would not begin right now.
Naruto felt pain like nothing else in this world for a few minutes but didn't scream. He endured the pain even when it was a pain far stronger than any pain he felt before. After a while, the pain stopped, and Naruto began to cough hard. He fell to the ground because his body didn't have the strength anymore to hold him on both knees. He was panting strongly and tried to gain as much oxygen as possible into his lungs. His body began to relax again after a few seconds and deep breaths.
He looked up and still didn't see anyone. He stood up again and said, "That was it? You inflicted that much pain and didn't kill me? You are useless," said Naruto. He saw an opportunity to die here, and his voice was something he could control, unlike his body. He had full control over his voice, unlike in some situations where his body didn't react to his commands.
He certainly would provoke the voice when provoking this unknown person resulted in his death. He would be stupid not to.
"You are a stubborn human," said the deep voice. Naruto didn't feel anything this time. It was like his body either couldn't feel this kind of pain anymore, or the person gave up on using pain to punish Naruto.
…
"Wow. That's all? You inflict that much pain on me, and then you don't kill me? You are dumb," said Naruto.
The voice didn't answer, but Naruto felt something else. His body began to walk even when Naruto didn't want to. He narrowed his eyes when his body turned south and began walking. 'God dammit! Why does my body don't obey me?' thought Naruto pissed.
Naruto looked around, his head still obeying his command. The forest began to change to a more ancient setting from Japan. The normal trees changed with time to cherry blossom trees. He saw the pink cherry blossom petals and thought about his dream for a second. He always saw one girl with the same hair color as these cherry blossom petals. His body stopped when his eyes widened a bit.
"P-please promise me to bring her back! I don't want to lose my best friend, Naruto!" said a girl. She was 12 years old and had pink hair and green eyes.
"Of course, Sakura-chan! I will bring Satsuki back even when it costs my life!" said a boy with spiky blond hair and blue eyes. He also had six whisker marks on his face. He smiled at the crying girl and held a thumbs up.
Naruto blinked a bit and briefly shook his head when he remembered this: 'What the? Have I just remembered something from another person's life? That wasn't a dream like usual… it felt so real. What the hell is happening with me?' he thought, confused. He looked in the direction his body had previously begun to walk. He could see something in the distance. It was a huge wall surrounding something like a village before a giant rock formation.
He narrowed his eyes and began to walk towards the wall. His body wasn't moving on its own this time. He was moving there on his records. He had this feeling that there was something he had to see. He didn't care that this was stupid to think about. He just had this feeling that guided him. He was so confused right now. What was his life? Was it just a big joke? He had seen those dreams his entire life, and only today had he heard what had been said. Who was this Sakura, and why was the boy who looked exactly like Naruto also named Naruto?
He had heard somewhere in the past that many believed in reincarnation. That meant a soul never dies and gets reborn into another body without the memories from its previous life. Had Naruto gone through such a process and now began to remember parts of his old life? He wanted answers.
When he approached the walls, he heard the deep voice again. "Naruto Uzumaki, you are finally here after all this time," the voice said.
"Who are you, and why do you know my name?" Naruto asked in a normal voice this time. He didn't intend to insult this voice.
"Come inside the village, and I will answer all your questions," said the deep voice while the two giant gates opened. Naruto's eyes widened when he recognized the gates now. The memory he just saw of the pink-haired girl and the boy who looked like him, also called Naruto, was at this gate! What the fuck was going on?
He narrowed his eyes and walked inside the village. He looked around and felt something calling him. It was a familiar and foreign feeling at the same time. It was strange and difficult to describe. He walked the street straight through the entire village to the end and looked right and left. He couldn't help but feel like he knew this place from somewhere but didn't know why.
He had never been to this village and shouldn't have the feeling he had right now. All the shops and houses on both sides of the street triggered something inside him he couldn't describe and didn't want to describe.
He stopped when he came to a red building with a big red symbol in the middle with the symbol for fire. His eyes widened when everything changed, and he was now in some forest with giant trees. The trees were massive. He couldn't even see the sky because of the dense foliage. The sun's rays broke through the foliage at some points, but it was generally shadowed in the entire forest.
Naruto felt a tremor on the ground. He looked to the side and narrowed his eyes when the ground shook every second as if a huge being walked on it toward Naruto. After a minute, he could see who made the ground shake because of the creature's weight.
His eyes widened when he looked into the massive crimson eyes of the majestic creature before him. The creature was massive… there was no other way to describe it. The creature looked like a giant nine-tailed fox with crimson eyes, black slits, razor-sharp teeth, two more human-like front paws, and red fur.
"So we finally meet, Naruto Uzumaki," said the Kyūbi in a deep voice. His massive teeth opened while he spoke and closed when he finished.
Naruto asked a bit consciously, ""You were the one who always talked to me inside of my head?"
"Yes. To this point, I never came through to you because you had multiple barriers inside your mind to prevent anything from coming through to you. You could barely hear my voice because you used one of my abilities," said the Kyūbi.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Naruto. He looked into the massive red eyes and surprisingly didn't feel any fear whatsoever. He was startled at first, but now he was calm, like he knew the majestic creature before him wouldn't eat him.
The Kyūbi lowered his massive head, and Naruto automatically raised his hand and held it forward. When he touched the snout of the Kyūbi, his eyes widened. He saw some weird images of an old man with purple eyes and other majestic creatures like the fox and heard how the old man said a name.
When Naruto blinked, he saw how the Kyūbi raised his head again and looked down at Naruto. "Is your name by chance, Kurama?" asked Naruto.
"Yes. I am a sacred gear created by the God of the Bible; before you ask, let me finish. I will now explain everything," said Kurama.
Naruto remained silent and waited for Kurama to continue his speech.
"Sacred Gears, also known as God's Artifacts, are items with powerful abilities bestowed upon Humans by God of the Bible. The original God of the Bible created the Sacred Gears as part of his system to enact miracles on Earth. Humans or human hybrids are the only species able to be born with sacred gear. When the sacred gear gets forcefully extracted from the user, then the user will die without any chance of survival. A person can own more than one Sacred Gear simultaneously. However, this almost always happens because the individual comes to a second or even more Sacred Gear through irregular circumstances than through birth. It is unknown why supernatural beings are never born with them," said Kurama.
"Supernatural world?" asked Naruto.
"Yes. There are other races in this world besides humans. The man you beat up was a fallen angel. Did you never question that he could create swords out of pure light?" said Kurama.
Naruto hasn't even thought about it until now. He was just pissed and didn't think about anything else. Now that his mind was a bit calmer, he remembered how the man he fought in the ally could create weapons out of nowhere. The weapons looked like from a video game in which a mage created weapons out of light magic. In the heat of the battle, this was not the most important thing. He fought against the guy and adapted like always.
"But before I explain the supernatural world, I will tell you about myself first. Since I have explained what a Sacred Gear is, I will now tell you what abilities I grant my host and partner," said Kurama.
"You said earlier that I had already used one of your abilities. Does this have to do with my fighting skills even when I never trained?" asked Naruto.
Kurama nodded his head and said, "Yes. I give my host the knowledge of an experienced fighter. You have the experience and knowledge of someone who trained his entire life until old age. The martial art forms you can use and your understanding in a fight are connected to this ability."
Naruto frowned a bit upon hearing this. Now he knew why he could react to everything in a fight. When he understood this correctly, he had the experience of a master. No wonder he could win against thugs or other people in the underworld with the skills and experience of an old master.
"I think this isn't everything, correct? Just from your appearance and the feeling I have right now tells me this is just the tip of the iceberg you grant your host or, in other words, me," said Naruto.
"Indeed. I give you access to an energy called chakra. When you activate the Sacred Gear, your appearance will change to how you look right now," said Kurama.
Naruto raised an eyebrow when he heard this. His eyes widened when he felt a sudden rush of energy inside his body. He had never felt anything like this in his entire life. He felt like he could punch a hole into a wall without problems. He looked down at himself and could see something weird. He raised both hands and could see his fingernails. They grew a bit longer and resembled claws. A mirror appeared before Naruto out of nowhere, and now he saw it. His blue eyes were gone, and now he had the crimson eyes with black slits like Kurama. His whisker marks were more feral looking, and his canines even grew a bit longer, like they were the teeth of a predator who used these big teeth to shred his prey into pieces.
"What…?" asked Naruto. The mirror vanished again, and he looked up at Kurama. "What you saw just now was how you look when you have your Sacred Gear activated. The energy you feel right now is the chakra I told you about. To make it simple for you: When you activate your Sacred Gear, you get access to chakra. Chakra boosts your physical abilities, like strength, speed, endurance, defense, and even your senses. You do not use a normal chakra, but my special chakra. My chakra is stronger and denser than any other type of chakra in existence," said Kurama.
"So, to summarize for now: When I activate the Sacred Gear, my appearance changes, and all my physical attributes get boosted because of your special chakra?" Naruto asked.
"Yes, but this isn't everything you can do with my chakra," said Kurama. "You can also concentrate it around your body or single parts of your body to protect you from damage."
Naruto's eyes widened when, out of nowhere, red bubbly chakra came out of his entire body and enveloped him. He even had two fox ears on his head. He looked at himself and watched the red chakra move naturally with his arms. It was like armor he wore when he understood it directly.
"You can also extend the chakra to grab something in the distance, but this needs training, and I will teach you this in time," said Kurama. The red chakra returned to Naruto's body, and he looked at Kurama again.
"The final ability I grant my host is to create something called a Bijūdama (Tailed Beast Bomb). This attack takes the form of a purple-black sphere; depending on which state you use this technique, it is bigger or smaller. But like extending the red chakra to grab something, this ability isn't simple to learn. You need to train to master this technique. Otherwise, you could suffer severe damage when using it," said Kurama.
"Ok… I think I understood everything so far," said Naruto while he furrowed his eyebrows. He didn't like this at all. When everything Kurama said was true, he had one hell of a Sacred Gear. He didn't even want to know what destructive capabilities this Bijūdama had. He wasn't pleased at all to have Kurama at his side. Even when everyone else would be grateful and happy to have such a strong Sacred Gear… Naruto wasn't happy because he couldn't die so far.
"You wake up in the real world. You can talk to me when you concentrate. I will wait for your next contact, partner," said Kurama while he lay down on the forest ground and laid his head on his front paws. Naruto vanished before Kurama, and he opened his eyes slightly.
'You are the spitting image of the boy I saw in my memories. Whether you are really him or not doesn't matter. I will support you with whatever you will do in the future,' thought Kurama before he closed his eyes again.
The sun rays were shining through the window in Naruto's apartment. His blue eyes opened briefly before he closed them again because the light was too bright. He held a hand in front of his face and shadowed his eyes a bit before he opened them again and looked at the ceiling from his apartment.
His mind was blank, uncertain if everything that happened was just a dream and nothing else. He couldn't remember coming back to his apartment and going to sleep. He was sure the fight against the fallen angel took place… wait, fallen angel? He raised himself into a sitting position. Everything came back to him when he thought about the word fallen angel. The fight, blackout, waking up in the forest, pain, walking to the village, appearing in the forest with giant trees, and meeting Kurama.
…
'Kurama?' thought Naruto. Nothing happened for a few seconds until Naruto could feel the presence of someone.
"You contacted me faster than I thought, Naruto," said Kurama inside Naruto's head. When Naruto talked with Kurama in this way, no one could hear Kurama's voice.
"Sorry… I wanted to make sure everything was real what happened," said Naruto.
"I see," said Kurama.
Naruto frowned when he talked to the giant fox so casually. He didn't even question the giant fox, as if he had known it his entire life. Why was he believing everything the fox said? Maybe it was because it made sense in a way. The explanations would clear his confusion about his fighting abilities.
Still, it didn't sit well with him. He never trusted someone besides himself. He experienced his entire life how cruel and rotten this shitty world was. He got beaten, abused, and ignored his entire life before he began to fight back and beat down everyone who tried to use him again.
Thirty minutes later, Naruto stood up from his bed and could feel the connection with Kurama had vanished. Since Naruto wasn't fighting and needed time to process everything, Kurama cut the connection for now. Naruto had his head full of all the information he had gotten.
He went to his window and moved the curtains to the side to keep the sun inside. He usually never moved the curtains to the side, but today was an exception since it wasn't a typical day. His head wasn't only filled with plans on who to meet next to fight. He thought about the things he had learned from Kurama.
He had a sacred gear that gave him many abilities that helped him in a fight. Even without the use of chakra, the knowledge and experience of a master were dumb to have. Well… when he thought about the fallen angel from yesterday, it wasn't wholly unfair. He still didn't know anything about fallen angels and the other races that Kurama mentioned while he explained everything about sacred gears and himself.
Naruto sighed and turned around. He looked at his messy room and thought about cleaning it for once since he didn't want to search for another enemy today. He wanted to get his mind off things. The entire day yesterday was simply too much for his brain to handle.
He still didn't know if he should even believe Kurama. It made sense, but was it genuine? Fallen angels? Supernatural world? Well… Sacred Gears were actual. Kurama was the proof of that. He also knew new things when it came to his own body.
Naruto needed to see it with his own eyes and experience it with his own body. He would go to a forest and try everything with his own hands. It's always good to do something once. NAll the martial arts techniques he knew and could do were available.
He went to his bed and began to make it properly. He usually left it as it was without a care, but today, he wanted to make it clean. He didn't even know why.
Naruto's room had a single bed, a desk with a chair in front of it, a laptop and a lamp, an orange carpet on the ground, a wardrobe at the side, and a chest of drawers. Naruto cleaned the rest of his room a bit, and since there wasn't much to clean anyway, he finished it in no time.
After an hour of cleaning his apartment, he walked through Kuoh with his eyes fixed on the sky. His mind was filled with many things, and at the same time, it was blank. He didn't know why this shit happened exactly to him and not someone else. Did he need to have this incredible ability? If he hadn't this ability, then he would have died long ago in a fight, but nope, his fate was shitty as always.
He stopped when he heard a woman yelling to stop a thief who grabbed her purse and ran away. He looked at the thief who ran directly towards him. Naruto didn't move and looked at the thief, who looked back to see if anybody had followed him.
With or without a supernatural world… this world was rotten and cursed. Naruto made a step forward and raised his arm while the muscles in his arm were loose. Just when the thief turned his head forward again, he saw Naruto, who was 2 meters ahead. Naruto thrust his palm forward and thought, 'Tai-Chi, Ōgi: Ying-Yang Kōgeki.' (Tai-Chi, Secret Technique: Ying-Yang Strike) Naruto's palm hit the thief on the chest, and the result was that the thief got blown away a bit and landed on the ground, rolling a bit before he crashed into a wall. The purse landed safely in Naruto's hand.
The thief held his chest with both hands, doubling over in pain. He never felt so much pain before. It felt like his heart was about to burst from the intense pain. It was like his organs were attacked directly from the palm strike and not his bones. His heart ached like never before in his life. His pupils were so little that someone would have a problem seeing them.
Naruto walked past the thief but didn't pay him any attention. When he was in front of the woman, the woman flinched a bit under Naruto's cold gaze. He wore an orange shirt under a black leather jacket, blue pants, and black boots. He was also wearing a necklace with a green crystal, which was barely visible. His blue eyes were cold. He dropped the purse before the woman and walked past her without looking back.
Naruto raised his hand slightly while he walked away from the woman and thought, 'Just like always… I can use techniques I never trained for,' thought Naruto. He shook his head and tried to think about something else. He had enough shit going on right now. He kept on walking and looked up into the sky again. He had the urge to do it, not knowing why exactly.
Especially the clouds were interesting. When he thought about the clouds, he stopped, and his eyes widened slightly.
"Hey, Shikamaru, why are you always watching the clouds? Do you have something better to do?" asked Naruto. He lay beside Shikamaru on the ground and looked up into the sky, trying to understand why his best friend always watched the clouds. He found it rather dull. He would instead train to get stronger than watch clouds the entire day.
Shikamaru looked at Naruto out of the corner of his eyes and sighed. "So troublesome… it's relaxing. We are now Chunin, and I have a lot in my mind. Watching clouds is my way to relax, giving me a feeling of liberty and comfort. All my worries would flow away like a cloud." Shikamaru was wearing a green vest above his usual outfit. He had narrowed brown eyes and a typical expression suggesting he was either bored or irritated. He had shoulder-length black hair tied in a spiky ponytail.
Naruto looked at the sky again and tried to understand his best friend. He was wearing something different from usual. After he brought back Tsunade with Ero-Sennin, he was promoted to Chunin, now wearing the typical Konoha outfit. A green flak jacket, dark blue pants, a long-sleeve shirt, blue sandals, and a blue headband tied around his forehead.
Seeing him in something other than orange was unusual, but Naruto liked his new outfit when he was honest. He was now an accepted shinobi from this village, Chunin. The other Shinobi in the village treated him with respect after he was promoted to Chunin. It was a big step forward from his early days as Genin when he was the worst.
"I don't feel anything special…," said Naruto.
"You are just too troublesome," said Shikamaru.
"HEY! I try, ok?" said Naruto.
"Just try to let your thoughts flow like water and simply relax. Without even looking directly at you, I can see that your body isn't relaxed."
Naruto blinked a few times before he held his head with one hand. 'Dammit! What was that?' He remembered something again from another life. Was this the life he was living before his current life? That couldn't be. Naruto took his hand away from his head and kept walking. He looked at the ground a bit before the words from this Shikamaru came to him in the head again.
…
He looked at the sky again, at the clouds. While he was walking, he didn't even realize that he had gone into some trance state. His eyes became unfocused, and his body moved on autopilot.
The clouds had a liberating effect on the mind when Naruto was honest right now… not that he could tell it right now. His mind was somewhere else and not really in reality. His thoughts were flowing with no real destination.
After 30 minutes, he walked through a forest Naruto didn't know. His mind was still somewhere else, not in the here and now. His ears twitched a bit, and that was when he returned to reality.
'Huh? Why am I now in the forest?' thought Naruto. He looked around and didn't recognize this forest. It was pretty dense for a forest around Kuoh. He narrowed his eyes when his ears twitched again; he thought he heard something. He turned around and prepared himself for whatever was coming his way. His mind felt loose like something that bothered him wasn't there anymore. He felt calm and clear, which he hadn't felt before.
After 20 seconds, Naruto could see a giant shadow with glowing red eyes running towards him. His eyes widened when he saw the "thing" about to attack him. He narrowed his eyes, jumped to the side, and let the beast run past him into a tree. The tree was uprooted directly when the beast ran into it. The beast stopped simultaneously, and Naruto now had a short time to look at it.
"Naruto, this is a stray devil," said saved the information in the backside of his head and concentrated on the situation. The beast had a humanlike appearance, but the hands and feet were claws and paws, not average hands and feet. The beast's skin was rotten, and it was clear that this thing wasn't a human from the start.
The beast turned around with glowing red eyes and growled at Naruto like a wild animal. Naruto didn't flinch at this sight, having seen far worse things than this. He ran at the beast, and the beast growled again before it charged at Naruto. Naruto ducked under the claw swipe from the beast and slid under his body before he pushed himself onto his feed and jumped at the beast.
The beast turned around and slashed Naruto with his claws. Naruto raised his feet, brought it down on the claw, and pushed it towards the ground. Naruto turned around in the air, and the beast's body slightly turned towards the ground. 'Renewal Taekwondo: San-Dan keri!' (Renewal Taekwondo: Tripple Kick) Naruto's movements became a blur for a second. Everything that could be seen was how his body turned three times around his axis and appeared behind the beast.
The beast blinked two times before he felt extreme pain in 3 different parts of its body. Naruto had first kicked the beast in the head and chest, and the last kick went against his right knee. The beast went on one knee because the other had a profound imprint from Naruto's kick.
Naruto turned around and charged at the beast. He punched it in the face, kicked it in its stomach, and made a Roundhouse kick against the face. The beast flew away from the force of the Roundhouse kick and crashed through a tree. Naruto looked at his body and wasn't sure how he could even move so fast. Usually, he would never be able to move so fast or kick a beast from that size through the air. He felt it directly when he woke up… he was different. He was full of too many things to think about until now.
But now he realized that something was different with him. His sight was better, he heard better than usual, he could move faster than an average human should, and he was far stronger than before, almost like he wasn't even a human anymore. He looked towards the beast and saw that it already recovered from Naruto's attacks.
It roared once and changed its appearance. 'Wow… talk about looking disgusting,' thought Naruto. The beast's body mutated even more and became bulkier. It got weird mutations that protruded out of its body at various parts—arms, stomach, head… it was simply disgusting to look at.
'I guess I will not be able to kill this thing so easily; it seems to recover after a few seconds even when I hit it,' thought Naruto. He concentrated and blinked once before his blue eyes became crimson, signalizing the activation of his Sacred Gear. Every feature he had in his dream was also changed now. More feral-looking whisker marks, longer canines, and claw-like fingernails beside the crimson eyes.
The beast stopped for a second when it felt Naruto's sudden power. With his new appearance, he looked dangerous. He charged forth while the beast did the same thing. The beast slashed at Naruto with her claw, but Naruto caught the claw with his hand and held it in place before thrusting his fist forward and hitting the beast square in the face. The beast roared in pain when it shot away, and the strong punch destroyed the ground beneath Naruto. He didn't even wait and dashed after the beast. While the beast was still flying through the air, Naruto appeared next to it and slammed his hand into the disgusting face of the beast. The beast roared out in pain again when Naruto applied extreme pressure to the face.
The beast tried to slash at Naruto with her claws, but it couldn't see properly because Naruto's hand blinded the beast. Naruto had a blank expression when the beast's scream became something only in horror movies heard. Naruto crushed the skull with his enhanced physical strength and destroyed the brain of the beast in the process, effectively killing it.
Naruto let the body fall to the ground and watched as it turned into black particles before it vanished. "Not bad for your first time using my chakra, even when you wouldn't have needed it after you became a devil," said Kurama.
Naruto narrowed his eyes and asked, "What do you mean by that, Kurama?"
"I guess it's time to explain everything that happened after you became unconscious after the battle with the fallen angel. Listen carefully because it will be a long explanation. I wanted to wait with this for a day to let you come to terms with everything that happened, but it's no use to delay this any longer," said Kurama.
Naruto sat on the forest floor and leaned on a tree. He didn't want to stand the entire time while he waited for Kurama to explain.
Four hours later, Naruto knew what had happened to him and how deep this supernatural world went. He now knew everything that he needed to know about it: the devils, how he could even become one, the angels, the fallen angels, and everything else there was to it.
He didn't want to believe it at first, but Kurama told him that he should stand up and try to move his lover's back muscles in a certain way. When a pair of bat-like wings appeared out of nowhere… he didn't have a choice but to believe everything about the supernatural world. He was reincarnated into a devil using a Rook Piece, which gave him superhuman strength and defense.
"Oh man… how fucked up is this world?" asked Naruto, no one specific. He sighed and rubbed his temples because he got a headache when he thought about everything. He still hadn't come to terms with everything before the information about the supernatural world. Now there came another mountain of information to the pile of shit he already had to deal with.
