Chapter 12 – The Elite vs the Low Level
It's been a week or so after the events of Ghost. Information about what Ghost is has been held confidential, but now D-Wheelers need no longer fear Wisel for the moment. Today is a lukewarm afternoon at Duel Academia, and Signers Lua and Luca continuing with their studies.
After the former suffers a humiliating loss against his friends. "Alright!"
Lua groans after being laid on the ground by that attack. His teacher sighs before saying, "Lua, your reaction is 100%."
As joy at Lua's expense resounds, three individuals watch silently. One is a sly-looking child with hair obstructing his left eye. The second is a middle-aged adult in a wheelchair having seen the duel the entire time. Lastly, higher while watching from a glass, is another man. This one wears glasses and has an audacious mustache.
That last man looks rather pissed. "Annoying little trash bandits… you won't be in such high spirits for much longer."
Time goes by to the afternoon when the students are all eating lunch.
"Man, I can't believe it didn't work," mutters the owner of the Heart as he swallows his barely chewed tonkatsu. As a result, he chokes, and Luca is already there with a cup of tea.
"That's what happens when you forget to be patient," says the girl as she returns to her meal, ignoring her brother's choking.
"I was really looking forward to seeing that Life-Stream Dragon you talked about so much," speaks their classmate Bob. He, Patty, and Tenpei are there as well, enjoying their lunches.
"I wanted to see it too," speaks Patty while eating natto. "Unlike yesterday we weren't doing a Warrior lesson today. It was Synchro Summoning."
"I'm training myself, alright?" Lua tells her and the others.
"… training? Don't you already know how to lose?" His sister's joke makes him choke again.
After drinking some more tea, he responds. "Not that! How to use other strategies!"
His expression evolves into something more serious as he puts down the tea. "Yusei doesn't have to rely on Stardust Dragon. He's got multiple aces and strategies to fall on. I only defeated Bomber because of Life-Stream, and honestly, I'm still not that good a duelist. So, I thought about trying new things."
The others stare at him as he speaks quietly. Luca smiles a little at her brother's secret maturity popping up again. "Well, you might as well focus on what you can do for now."
"So until you work that out, can you duel against me?" asks Tenpei.
"Me too!" asks Patty with her eyes sparkling.
"Hoh? I didn't think I was that popular!" Lua's head grows bigger at the compliment.
"More like our grades go higher the more we beat you." This is Bob's statement, utterly defeating Lua.
He almost falls out of his chair as a result. His friends and sister laugh as he gripes. "What's that supposed to mean?! You're looking at a future Duel Monsters' Pro!"
At the mention of the word 'future', Luca goes silent. It's a good question for herself as well. What future does she seek now that the Dark Signers are gone? And what does her father have to do with Demak? It's something she has yet to question him about because he's ignored them in these six months. Both of them have.
Being at a school that offers sports, technology, and art paths will make the choice easier. But, there is something she has liked to be a part of.
What that is will have to wait, however. At the conclusion of lunch, the kids proceed to their final classes of the day. Only to learn…
"WE'RE EXPELLED?!"
"Please learn not to scream everything!" shouts the teacher who made that declaration as he eyes the class through yellow visors. "None of you have a say in this anyway, so be quiet!"
"No!" Patty shouts.
"Why are we all being expelled?!"
"It's simple! Duel Academia has this degrading reputation of only teaching kids and slackers how to play a 'children's card game'! This school provides future options in sports, technology, arts, and the works! So it's only right that the students show promise and talent in all areas! And yet, entering this term, the class curve for the whole school dropped rapidly! Neo Domino School doesn't need that, so I'm banishing the most failing, low-level class!"
The class teacher steps forward. "Vice principal, you can't do this! What would the principal say!?"
He snickers. "Who do you think gave the approval in the first place?" She gasps in horror. "It would appear that my educational policy has finally gotten through that easygoing principal's head."
"You shouldn't just go around expelling students for something like scores! We all have a right to learn and have fun-"
"Lua, you're the last person I need to hear any of this from! If I recall, your test scores are lower than EVERYONE ELSE'S!" he shouts, cutting him off.
"Vice-Principal!" At the doorway, someone stands there making her presence known.
"Oya. If it isn't Aki Izayoi," speaks the vice principal with interest as he smiles. After her return, she's one of the few students he's ever had trouble with.
"I heard what you were up to, and this is blatant bullying on your part," she says, her eyes narrow and intense. "I won't allow you to pick on these children!"
"Uh oh. Here comes the scary half of Aki," says Lua as he watches.
"This statement is not up for debate!"
"But it's pointless. The school's grade point average isn't so bad that you have to start culling classes. This is just your ego talking." She gets closer to the desk the vice principal is at until she comes face to face, the other teacher frozen. "Don't you think cutting them just because their grades are low now is a foolish decision?!"
"Keeping them in this school was the real foolish decision! It doesn't matter how much time passes; low-level students are just as useless as low-level monster cards!" That catches Lua's attention. As the vice snaps his fingers, the electronic board shows everyone's deck and the cards they use. "Even the decks they use are garbage only suited for the lower leveled ones!"
"So you're just being a jerk!" Both Aki, the vice principal, and everyone else turns to Lua as he stands up. "You think just because we use weak cards that means we don't have a place here!"
"What did I just say, Lua!?"
"You said I was the lowest of the lowest, so why don't we prove it?" shouts the child as he points a fist at him. "If you're gonna expel us, then at least let us duel for our right to stay! You can allow us that much!"
"Lua?"
As his sister and friends look at him with worry, the vice principal angrily slams his hands against the desk. "And why should I?! You're literally the worst duelist in the class!"
"Well then, there's no reason for you to say no, right?! Prove to everyone that we don't deserve to be here by defeating the worst student, and if you win, we leave quietly. Otherwise, we get to stay and you never try to kick us out again!"
Now he's even more tempered. "You think you can match wits with me?! One of the most elite of the faculty members, Rudolph Heitmann?! I don't even need to accept shut childish-"
"I say let him do it."
Everyone then turns to the doorway, where a man in a wheelchair sits. This older gent with teal hair glares at Heitmann. "Marufuji!"
"I was there when you spoke with Chairperson Yuuki. The deal was that you gave them a chance to stay at the school," are his words as he adjusts himself using the steering device on his wheelchair. "Lua offered to challenge, so it's only right that you accept, Heitmann."
Still leaning over, Heitmann grinds his teeth left and right in anger. 'I didn't hear him in the hallway. That wheelchair is quieter than I thought.' Caught, he has no choice now. "Very well!"
He turns to the green-haired boy. "On one condition! This duel will take place tomorrow morning in front of the school, and you cannot use your prize Power Tool Dragon at all in the duel."
"W-What?!"
"If you're gonna prove yourself, then you have to be a good enough duelist to win with such a handicap!" Heitmann smirks secretly. Having seen his records, he knows full well that Lua's best duels revolve around using that card. Without it, his chances of victory drop even more than usual. He'll never accept those conditions.
Looking down, the boy then says, "I accept."
"… EEEEH?!"
Later…
Classes have finally ended for the day. Lua holds his backpack as he thinks about what to do. His sister immediately asks, "Lua, what were thinking?"
"Luca, he's going to kick us out anyway! You heard him; the Chancellor already gave the okay, if we don't fight back!"
"And you think you can win with that condition?! Dueling without Power Tool Dragon!" asks Bob curiously.
"Yeah, it doesn't look good for us." This is Patty.
Thinking hard, Lua decides to go for the only option he has available. Get help. "I'm going over there."
Luca doesn't agree with that. "Don't you think it's rude to barge in on them every day?"
"Do you have a way to help me defeat Heitmann?"
"… no."
"Then off we go!" As he speaks, the mysterious student from before walks by.
Seeing him, Luca speaks. "Sly! Do you wanna come with us?"
He stops for a minute to look back at them. "Hanging out past class hours? If you have that much free time, go home and study." He then resumes walking off.
Lua frowns as their classmate walks off. That was uncalled for, after all, talking to his sister like that when she was trying to be nice.
Bob then says, "Forget him. Let's get over to Yusei's already!" The quintet then gets going, completely ignoring Sly.
Said boy stops, however, intrigued by where they were going. Before he knows it, he ends up following them.
Back with the famous racers, Jack is revving it up. The engine on this vehicle sounds better than before. "Yusei, will it be okay this time? We don't have time for explosions!"
"I can't believe everything works better now. That's Yusei for you."
"Yeah. You don't have to worry about the engine," is his response. One they did not expect.
Because it goes to show there is another problem to fix, the deck hoister. As if he jinxed it, cards shoot out everywhere in the basement. Angered, Jack stops the machine to look at his mess. "Yusei! You could have told me you only fixed one part of it!"
"And there he goes yelling like he owns the place," Crow says, shrugging at Jack's annoying attitude.
"It's not a big deal. Let's clean up before Zola comes in." Yusei proceeds to collect cards.
At that moment, the door opens up. As Jack and Crow fear it's that old lady again, it would turn out to be the kids. As they wave and give their greeting, Crow says, "Well, look who's back."
"You kids again…" mutters Jack.
Looking around, Luca asks, "Another complication?"
"You can say that," Yusei tells her.
The kids gawk at the test frame of the D-Wheel, much to Jack's dismay since they ask to drive it too. "Absolutely not!"
"Tell you what, you kids help pick up these cards and we'll let you ride it!" Crow offers.
"Don't be making fake promises!"
As Yusei thanks the kids for their work, in the corner of his eye, he spots someone else on top of the stairs.
"Oh, Sly! You actually came!" Luca goes up to pull him down. "Yusei, this is our classmate Sly. He's one of the better members of our class!"
"Oi! No dawdling! Back to work!" In Crow's words, every child gets back to picking.
Sly too has been backdrafted into this, something he realizes. As he's on all fours, his eyes catch something. Something he has been looking at for so long. He reaches down to pick up the white card, shifting it in his hands after looking at it.
"I'm sure I saw it over here." Yusei takes a knee as he looks.
"Uh… you dropped this," he quickly says, handing Stardust Dragon over. Once he does, his expression drops.
With the craziness over and the kids angry that Crow lied, Lua and Luca are together with Yusei upstairs. "Expelled?"
"Yeah. That stupid teacher is going to get us expelled just because we have low-level cards!" Lua says with a groan.
"It's unfair of him to do," Luca adds, huffing. "And since Lua challenged him, he has to win."
"And without Power Tool."
At that, Yusei realizes the dilemma they're in. Lua needs to win and he's lost his best card. So he's come to the only person who can help him.
"Lua, do you have any ideas of how to win?"
"Not really. I got this new card for my Deformers, but it doesn't work without some setup." Lua then shows Yusei his new card, causing the engineer to examine it.
After musing and making a humming noise, he says, "Lua, as luck would have it, I know just what to do."
"Great! Now… there's something else…"
Tomorrow Morning…
Dawn shines in the eastern skies on this day. Today will determine whether or not Lua's class remains at school or not. Standing on the battlefield are the two duelists, Titania Lua, and Rudolph Heitmann.
But they are not the only ones bearing witness. An entire crowd of people gathered to watch the duel. Most of these people are students of the same class, their teacher, and Aki. They sit in the stands higher up to get the best look.
"Well, you actually showed up. I'm impressed," says Heitmann with a smug smirk as he stares at the small child.
"I wouldn't be able to call myself a duelist if I ran away from a fight," he tells him dutifully. "It's time I proved you wrong about us!"
Heitmann doesn't care for his thoughts. All this will prove to him is how right he is about himself and his entire class. Without Power Tool, Lua won't be able to get an easy win. So he activates his duel disk, as does the boy, before shouting:
"DUEL!"
Titania Lua: 4000
Rudolph Heitmann: 4000
"I'll start!" Lua draws, before placing the monster in face-up defense mode. It turns out to be the Guard of Flamvell.
Guard: 100/2000 (1)
Up in the stands, Bob cheers seeing the fire dragon. Lua then concludes his turn by setting two cards facedown. Focused on the duel he is that he and the rest of the crowd do not notice a certain guest coming to watch.
"Just like you to rely on low-level monsters again." The boy ignores his mocking as the man draws for his turn. "Now, let me show you how the elites handle this."
His first move is summoning a mechanical artwork, the Antique Gear Statue. This machine fixture looking like an iconic monster forms in front of Rudolph.
Statue: 500/800 (2)
"A statue?" Obviously, Lua has no idea why this thing is here. It kind of goes against his vice principal's philosophy.
"Allow me to show you what the true purpose of low-level monsters are for. I will use Antique Gear Statue's effect." The monster glows before expanding and reassembling. Taking its place is a towering spartan machine with exposed gears and a red eye.
Antique Gear Golem: 3000/2000 (8)
Seeing it, the crowd goes in awe seeing the rare monster the vice has been holding. The teacher even comments that this deck is something only the best faculty members of Duel Academia can possess. "Low-level monsters have only one purpose; to be used to bring forth the stronger, higher-level monsters. Such is also the way of life!"
"You're gonna need more than that to teach me a lesson in life!" shouts Lua as he holds his Duel Disk up.
"Oh, who said I was done? I play Antique Gear Fusion!" He reveals a spell card, causing his monster to disassemble once more. "Fusion allows me to perform a Fusion Summon of an Antique Gear monster using monsters in my hand and my field. Also, if I have an Antique Gear Golem on the field, I can use monsters from my deck as well!"
Rudolph laughs as he pulls two copies of the Golem from his deck. His two monsters appear and merge together with the original. The end result is a four-legged monstrosity of the original Antique Gear Golem with six arms. This beast groans as the gears turn. "Fusion Summon – Antique Gear Megaton Golem!"
Megaton Golem: 3300/3300 (9)
"Megaton Golem?!" Everyone looks up at the mecha monster as it cracks its non-existent knuckles.
"Of course! Antique Gears are a Fusion-focused deck, something that has little relevance in a Riding Duel era. But, perfect for Standing Duels. And the best part of Megaton Golem? For every extra Golem used for its fusion, it can attack an extra number of times!"
"That's not good!" Luca shouts in realization. "That means Lua won't have protection!"
"Let the lesson commence! Megaton Pound!" The golem strikes, pulverizing the Guard. The shockwave hits Lua.
"Megaton Pound 2!" A second strike comes in for Lua, this time knocking the boy off his protective stance.
Lua: 700
"Time to finish this. Megaton Pound 3!" Before the attack can be declared, Lua presses a button.
"Not so fast; after damage calculation, I activate Damage Condenser!" Lua's trap opens up, as Remoten appears onto his field. "I can discard one card to special summon one monster as strong as or weaker than the damage I took."
Remoten: 300/1200 (3) Tuner
"And, I'll play my other trap card! Deformer Bind!" A continuous spell opens up, revealing a protective barrier around Lua's field generated by Telefon. "Now your high-leveled monsters cannot attack."
"Oh?!" Aki realizes. "So Lua had a plan for him."
The mysterious guest smirks.
"Foolish, Lua. If you had better planning, you would have brought out something better." Rudolph's words do not bother the boy. He looks determined. "I'll end my turn with that. Let's see you handle this turn of yours."
Lua draws for his turn before checking his options. "Yosh! It's time for me to show you my combo! I summon Gadget Gamer!"
Appearing to the field is a series of suitcases that come together for a new monster. This being is an electronic Gatling gun.
Gamer: 300/300 (3)
"When summoned, Gadget Gamer allows me to add a level 1 Machine monster to my hand." After that Lua pulls a Deformer to add to his hand. "Next up, Gamer will tribute itself to special summon a Deformer from my hand."
His monster explodes into shards, allowing Lua to bring forth the monster he pulled. This ends up being an old fashion home telephone. "Deformer Telefon!"
Telefon: 100/100 (1) Tuner
"And, it also lets me bring forth Gadget Trailer!" From behind a smiling Lua, a portal opens up. A blue hauler rolls out of it, honking the horn as it does. People get out of the way before being run over by the hologram.
Gadget Trailer: 1300/0 (6)
Seeing it, Rudolph simply laughs. "That's your best?! I know you didn't have much without Power Tool, but that's just sad! The highest level you can muster is 2000 lower than my golem!"
Lua spins his arm. "Yeah, yeah, keep blowing smoke. Telefon's effect! In defense mode, I can get a random number from 1 to 6, and I can excavate the top of my deck. One Deformer card can be sent to the graveyard, and the rest will be shuffled back in!"
The dial numbers go off until they make four. Lua then checks the top four of his deck and smirks. "I'll send this to the graveyard, Deformer Boarden." He ditches a monster card to the graveyard, before placing the rest under his deck.
"I will then end my turn."
Everyone looks at Lua in surprise. He's going to end it like that?!
"Foolish! Just foolish!" Rudolph draws his card before smirking. "You think you can take it easier, but nice try! This duel is still over! I play Level Thunder!" Rudolph's spell appears as Megaton forms lightning in its hands. "You'll be dealt 100 points of damage for every level on my field! It's time to blow out that candle in the wind life point!"
Megaton Golem aims its hands at Lua. Seeing it, the boy begins to panic. "Time to bid your pesky class farewell! Level Thunder!"
Lua checks his hand, gasping when he sees an option. "I'll send Hanewata to the graveyard!" Lua's monster goes to the graveyard, blocking the electric storm assault. "All effect damage to me is reduced to zero!"
As the effect subsides, Patty cheers for Hanewata doing her job. Of course, that doesn't mean things are good for Lua. That Golem is still too strong. "I'll play Ancient Gear Fortress." The field soon gains a fortress around them, surrounded by gears poking out. "Now, continue with your turn."
'Things aren't looking good yet. I just need that one card to win.' Lua looks at his deck, putting in all of his beliefs.
The guest watches Lua. 'Just believe Lua and the cards will answer you.'
Lua draws as he begins his turn, and spots one of the cards that will help. "I activate Deformer Trailer Power Generator!"
A generator forms on the field, causing his two Deformers to charge it up. "If I have two Deformers on the field, I can draw two cards!" Lua then draws his two, both being cards he needs. "Yes! I summon Eccentric Boy!"
Lua's next monster appears on the field, a tiny man with Super Saiyan hair, a red line coming down his right eye, and flashy clothing.
Eccentric Boy: 800/200 (3) Tuner
"What do you think loading your field with these weaklings is going to do?!" Rudolph shouts in annoyance.
"You're about to find out! Eccentric Boy can perform a Synchro Summon using monsters in my hand!" Lua then reveals his monster, Metal Shooter. With it, Eccentric Boy leaps up in the air with the metal monster to become stars and rings. "Clustering wishes will form a new star! Become the path the light shines upon! Synchro Summon!"
As the familiar chant rings through their ears, Lua's monster makes a grand appearance. It flaps its wings, revealing itself as… "Take flight, Stardust Dragon!"
The dragon roars, much to the delight of the other students around them. Tenpei cheers at the appearance of the great dragon. Aki is most surprised. "Stardust? Why does he have that?"
"Yusei gave Lua his blessing!" Luca tells her. Sly looks at the card with awe.
Seeing the cosmic dragon certainly perplexes the vice principal, he can guess why he has that card, but he isn't deterred. This changes nothing. "Your monster is nowhere near strong enough to defeat my golem!"
"That's not my plan; my plan is Deformer Trailer Power Generator!" Lua's spell card lifts from the grave as he removes it from play. "By banishing this magic card, I can equip Gadget Trailer with Deformer Power Trailer!"
From Lua's deck, a trap card appears on the field. This card manifests as a white trailer with the Deformer symbol on the side, attaching itself to the Gadget monster.
"A trap card? It's made no changes to your monster at all!"
"It's not supposed to; Power Trailer can only be equipped to Gadget Trailer, and it gives him a neat effect." Gadget Trailer opens up, forming a cannon port. It takes aim at Megaton Golem and charges as Telefon enters the trailer from the back. "By releasing a Tuner, I can destroy one card you control and it gains 700 attack points each time! And, you can't respond to the activation!"
"It what?!"
Gadget Trailer takes aim at Megaton Golem, fulled by Telefon's power. "Fire, Super Gadget Cannon!" A rail gun beam fires, completely slicing through the golem's ancient plating. It shuffles and trembles a bit before falling over, exploding.
Gadget Trailer: 2000
The crowd cheers for Lua's impressive combo. However, Rudolph snickers. "Nice move there, but I saw that coming. I activate Megaton Golem's effect!"
From the pile of scrap, the golem reforms. This time, it takes the form of a Golem in a centaurian trojan form. "When it's destroyed, I can special summon while ignoring summoning conditions one Antique Gear Ultimate Golem!"
AGUG: 4400/3400 (10)
"Geh?! Another one?!"
"I told you; the lower-level monsters have only one purpose. And that is to bring forth the stronger monsters. And, because it was summoned this turn, my fortress protects it from Power Trailer's effect!"
"Then I'll just get rid of that!" This time, Remoten enters the trailer, as Lua takes aim.
As he does, Tenpei notices something and shouts, "Wait, Lua! Don't!"
But it's too late; Gadget Trailer launches, destroying the Continuous Spell card. Rudolph laughs in response, as out from the remains of the destroyed fortress emerges a familiar threat; Antique Gear Megaton Golem.
Seeing it, Rudolph laughs at Lua's poor decision. "I can't believe you would do that! You just lost your only means of protecting yourself! You may have Stardust and that giant truck, but neither of them can defeat my golems!"
All of the crowd look at Lua, wondering how he is going to get out of this mess. His classmates and Aki also worry as well. Even more, they worry since he's been silent. What can he be thinking about?
"Hey, question." Everyone turns to Lua. "Does your Megatron Golem still have that replacement effect on it?"
"Huh?"
"I asked if that monster can summon another Golem if I destroyed it."
"Oh. No, of course not. But, I don't have to worry about that. You're out of Tuners after all!"
Lua smirks before taking the spell card from his hand and revealing it. "Then I better make some. So, I play Variety Out!"
Stardust Dragon shrieks as it turns into glittering particles. "I'll return Stardust Dragon to the Extra Deck, and special summon Tuners from my graveyard whose total level equal Stardust's."
From the particles, four monsters form. Appearing from them are Eccentric Boy, Hanewata, Remoten, and Guard of Flamvell.
Flabbergasted, Rudolph says, "You're completely nuts. You traded in Stardust Dragon for low-level monsters?! All for f-eh?" He then realizes something. Three of them look familiar. "Wait a minute!"
"That's right. All of these cards belong to my friends, the same students you mocked for having low-level monsters!" Lua says, his heart spilling out through his words. He catches the affection of his friends as well. "And they're going to help me take you down! Power Trailer's effect!"
Guard of Flamvell enters the trailer first. "This one is for Bob!" Gadget Trailer first, shooting Ultimate Golem. The monster explodes before turning into a pile of scrap.
"Ultimate Golem's effect!" Rudolph shouts as a fist punches through the scraps. Antique Gear Golem crawls out.
"I figured that would happen. This one's for Patty!" Hanewata enters the trailer, allowing Gadget Trailer to blast Megaton Golem. Unlike before, its scraps fade into nothing.
"This is for Sly!" Eccentric Boy enters now, and Antique Gear falls to nothing.
With that, nothing is left to protect Rudolph. "I hope you hadn't forgotten, but Gadget Trailer gained 3500 from all of those shots."
Gadget Trailer: 4800
The trailer takes aim at Rudolph now. "I haven't attacked yet either, because the last one is for me! Superconductor Gadget Caliber!" The trailer launches a powerful railgun blast at Rudolph, who gets blown away in utter defeat.
Rudolph: 0000
"Yatta!" The class cheers as does the rest of the school at Lua's victory. His teacher even smiles with pride, a little touched by how well he turned it all around.
Rudolph lies on his hands and knees. To him, this makes no sense. "None at all… Lua's grades are horrible. His dueling record is more horrendous. How could he have improved so much overnight?!"
"They were bad, but this isn't a skill you can get overnight." Lua walks over to his vice principal. "You have to understand; there is nothing in this world that is useless. Sure, we're low-level now, but that doesn't mean we don't matter. We're just as important as you high-level guys."
"Well said, Lua."
The guest who enters the scene is revealed to be Yusei Fudo. As he comes forth, the rest of the school notices him. Immediately, they cheer just as hard for him as they do Lua. "Yusei Fudo?"
"Thanks, Yusei!" Lua says as he digs into his deck. "Thanks for lending me this."
He hands over Stardust to the original owner. Gaining it, Yusei smiles as he pockets the card. The boy then turns to Heitmann. "So, a deal's a deal."
The humbled vice principal sighs as he accepts. "Yes, Lua. You win. Your class won't be banished."
Lua cheers for the victory he and his friends earned. To celebrate, they join him and cheer the boy for what he's done. Patty even hugs him, causing the boy to turn red. It's the best tomato impression ever.
Sly approaches Lua. There is only one thing on his mind. "Lua."
"Oh, Sly." He pulls out Eccentric Boy and hands it over to the owner. "Thanks for helping."
"Hey, you won the duel. I just gave you the means to." Sly then walks away, being the silent loner he is wont to be.
As he does, he looks back at them. Well, in this case, his eyes are on Yusei Fudo. He sighs as he realizes how amazing that card is. To him, it isn't fair. It isn't fair that such an amazing card can only be in the hands of one person. It should belong to him, just like his uncle told him.
'I want it, that Stardust Dragon.'
Later That Day…
After a successful day at school, the Titania siblings return home. Sure, it's empty, but they're used to that. While Lua rests being the hero of the class, Luca is up.
The young girl looks at her deck. "Lua's career choice is clear… but what do I want?"
As she asks herself these questions, a pulse emits from her deck. "Huh?"
She places a hand on it. A voice enters her heart. "Ancient Fairy Dragon? What's wrong?"
In her mind, she sees them; the geoglyphs of the Dark Signers they triumphed over. Is it not over yet?
End Chapter...
Kei: Well, that was fun. Next chapter, we will have a Crow episode as he meets up with a former Riding Champion.
