Review Reply: Stardust009 - Of course someone threw it. You can't just brush all of that trauma under the bridge in under 6 months. Aki being seen on television using her powers is also a huge detriment to public opinion. As you can see, Tops residents still have problems with Satellite folk. That's going to be part of Crow's development. Also, wow. Another person against Team Unicorn's duel. Sadly, I can't divulge what happens, so I will have to show you when they face one another.
JDHudson - Sherry had to say what she needed to, and really, the two of them should have dueled each other in canon. If she's to be Aki's rival, she has to represent a part of her that she can never accept. And once you see what that is, you'll get it. As for what she does with this encounter, you'll have to see in this chapter.
Chapter 18 – Take Flight, Skiel
Over with Yliaster, the three emperors are in their cosmic room. Each of them surveys duels going on. Jose is even going over the previous duel between Aki and Sherry.
"So boring…" Lucciano complains, clicking off of it. "I was expecting a reaction since it was two Psychic Duelists, but nothing of significance.
At the center of their room is a grid map. Some lines are shown glowing. "The Circuit won't be complete by duelists not trying their hardest. We must wait for the WRGP. Once everyone is facing the other with all they have, the Circuit will amass."
"What about the Crimson Dragon?" asks Placido. "Goodwin and his group failed because of it. As long as the Signers are around, our plans won't proceed as scheduled."
"What's your point?"
Placido points to a picture of Yusei. "We get rid of Yusei. The Dragon and Tail marks he possesses allow him to control the dragon. If we seal Yusei away, it can't muddle up our plans."
"Not like you could do it before." Lucciano laughs at him. He plans to laugh more, except it happens. "It's here!"
Up in space, a meteor makes its way to Earth. Although, this one is flat. Unlike the last time, this is happening in broad daylight for people to see. It lands in the mountains far from civilization. Watching it on the screen, Lucciano cheers. "Yes! My tablet is here! I knew Placido wouldn't be enough!"
…
"A meteorite?" asks Yusei of Crow. He and the others are by a racing track. Well, others don't mean Jack. He is still recovering from a gang incident before today.
"Yeah. One landed in the mountains and now everyone's making a big stink about it."
"Oh, that explains that rumbling," says Lua while next to Luca and Aki.
While listening, a thought occurs to Yusei. "Ghost first appeared the night after a meteor landed…"
At that, the group begins to add two and two together. Yusei gets up saying, "Crow, take me to the site."
"I thought you'd say that," says Crow as they head off.
Yusei looks back and sees Aki still seated. "Aki?"
She snaps out of her thoughts to respond. "Huh? Oh… yeah, I'll stick around here for a while. I want to practice more."
While a little off-put by her reluctance, he agrees and continues with Crow.
With them gone, Aki proceeds to sit. Her eyes remain in deep thought, remembering what she had been thinking about; Sherry. After their little duel, Aki has been hard at work improving. Not a single soul she is aware of knows what happened, and she intends to keep it that way. No matter what Sherry is planning, Aki will handle it personally. That blonde knight is her target after all.
"It won't be enough to just drive better," she says, putting down her water bottle. "I need a better deck too."
As Aki gets up to leave, Luca watches with curiosity. What exactly happened to her?
Meanwhile, Yusei and Crow reach the site of the crash. But by the time they do, a large crowd has already gathered, all behind yellow tape set up by Security. The meteorite has already been taken away.
Tomorrow…
It's a normal day of school at Duel Academia. Lua and Luca are inside their room as class begins. Their teacher, however, steps before everyone with something important to say.
"Everyone, pay attention. Today we have a new student joining us! Please welcome, Luciano." Stepping forward is the child of the three emperors, Luciano. But he lacks his mechanical appendage.
As a student, he waves to the class after introducing himself. Luca stares with interest. Lua is unamused.
"As you know, everyone is familiar with the Juvenile Grand Prix that takes place at the East Branch, correct?" The teacher gestures to the redhead newbie. "Well, Luciano here won that tournament. So if you have questions, be sure to ask him."
With his introduction, Luciano fits in fairly well. He is an expert at dueling, he's good in school, and he's even popular and easy to talk with. Naturally, Lua doesn't like him, especially with the attention he gives Luca. She's also kind of infatuated with him, he can tell. And sadly, he's not as good as Luciano is yet.
So it grates him when he sees both Luciano and Luca going somewhere after school. Uncertain of what they're up to, he follows them after his lesson with Marufuji. Taking a bike, Lua chases after the limousine they entered, making their way to a large mansion, one complete with gates.
After dismounting, he slides through the gate and continues to snoop around. He eventually reaches them, where he sees something that he never expected.
Whoosh!
Luciano does a trick off a ramp on top of a skateboard. He skids to a stop in front of Luca. "Now, you try."
"Oh, I couldn't." She shakes her hands sheepishly.
"Come on. How else am I going to get you to try this Duel Board? It's perfect for Riding Duels when you lack a license."
With that, Lua realizes what he's been doing. As Luca tries riding the skateboard, Lua goes away with the information he's collected.
Luciano watches as Luca rides, but really, he's uninterested. His butler comes closer, and he asks, "How's our other guest?"
"Just left," replies the man, his voice revealing him to be Placido.
"Now we wait." The kid then laughs, observing Placido's appearance. "By the way, thanks for doing this. It's pretty humiliating dressing up as a butler."
"Ordinarily, but I'm curious to see where this goes," Placido smirks in his ugly disguise.
As Luca ends her little playdate, Lua heads to Yusei's place. There, he manages to convince Yusei and the others to help construct a copy of the Duelboard. Luckily, it only takes a single night.
By morning, Lua is riding a Duelboard powered by Momentum. Badly. Eventually, he gets it. Luckily it's the weekend, and Lua is on the Neo Daedalus Bridge. He adjusts himself as he slowly gets better, until coming across a strange sight ahead.
"Luca?!" He stops in front of her.
"Looks like Yusei made one for you too." Luca eyes him before adjusting her Duelboard.
He sighs at being caught. "Ah, you got me. I wanted it to be a secret."
"Well, can you show me how it's done? I'm not too good at skateboarding."
And with that, the two green-haired siblings ride across the open high road. Luca smiles, chuckling as the wind hits her soul. "This is great!"
"Yeah! This must be what Yusei and the others feel all the time!" The two pass under a bridge.
From that bridge, another figure leaps. He expertly lands, also riding a Duelboard, and gives chase. The twins give him a look of curiosity, unable to see his face due to his mask, but it's clearly Luciano.
"Yo! Enjoying yourselves?" he says with a cackle, before riding forward.
More of a mystery befalls Luca as her Duelboard is pulled ahead. "Eh?!"
"Luca!" Lua shouts as he pushes forward.
"I only need one of you Signers. You're just in the way." Luciano activates his Duel Disk, which also turns on Luca's.
"No way! You assault my sister, you go down!" Lua rides further to put himself between them.
Annoyed, Luciano says, "Geez, you're annoying. Then bring it."
Lua activates his duel disk, his sister looking on with worry. "Don't worry. We got this guy. He can't be any tougher than Demak and Bomber."
"R-Right." Luca turns her attention to Luciano. The latter activates Speed World 2, which the twins do in response. A duel lane forms, giving them a path. Also, the twins do not notice it, but below them, circles connecting to Luciano appear.

"I'll begin," says Luca as she draws. "I summon Hiita the Familiar-Possessed."
Her fire charmer in older form appears in a burst of flames. "I'll end my turn."
"Eh? That's it?"
"What do you expect? My deck relies on Magic cards," she tells him.
Luciano draws for his turn, before summoning it. This pink and yellow machine with a red lens scans Hiita. "Absurd Stealer's effect; by targeting one monster, that monster loses its attack points and Absurd Stealer gains its defense."
Absurd Stealer: 0→1500
"Eh?"
"Attack!" Luciano's monster fires a beam of heat that eradicates Hiita. She gets blown away, the pieces slicing up Luca.
Luca: 2500
"Ow! Wait… I felt that?"
"I'll set three cards and end my turn." With that, it moves to Lua's turn.
As he does, he notices his mark is glowing. 'It's glowing?' He then faces Luciano.
"Luca, are you okay?" Appearing as a spirit is Eria, flying just to Luca's left.
"Eria?"
"Be on your guard; that's no normal opponent. He's materializing damage."
"So that's what that was…" She faces Luciano as Lua begins his turn. "But how? Is he a Psychic?"
"I summon Datatron!" Lua summons his recently drawn card Datatron.
"Trap card open; Exus Summon!" Luciano's monster returns to his hand. "When my opponent summons a monster, I can swap my monster out with another. Come out, Sky Core."
Appearing to the field is a brand new card. It's a blue machine core with an empowered reactor inside that resembles the Wise Core. "Upon summon, I activate my facedown, Torrential Tribute!"
A powerful flood splashes across the field, wiping away everything including Datatron. As Lua curses having lost his monster, Luciano cackles.
"Why are you happy you lost your monster?" asks Luca as she adjusts herself on the board.
"Simple, morons. When Wise Core is destroyed by a card effect, I can special summon the following from my hand, deck, or GY." From his deck, five cards form and appear as machine parts. "Machine Emperor Skiel Infinity, Skiel Top, Skiel Attack, Skiel Guard, and Skiel Carrier."
Seeing them, Lua shouts, "Did you just summon a bunch of monsters on my turn?!"
"Don't be so surprised by that; combine, Machine Emperor Skiel!" His monsters transform and assemble, using Skiel Infinity as the center. Unlike Wisel, this is a blue machine monster with the appearance of a bird. Its primary weapon looks to be a cannon held at its birch.
Skiel Infinity: 2200/2200 (1)
"Whoa…" says Luca as he spots the monster. "Did they just combine into a single monster?"
"Wait. Isn't this…" Lua's brain switches on as he tries to recall what's going on. "Yeah! Yusei mentioned this; when he faced Ghost, the robot used a monster made up of five different monsters… what else did it do?"
Lua takes a card from his hand and sets it. 'Come on… attack me. I'll be ready.' "Turn end."
"My turn then…" Luciano draws his card, before laughing. "Trap card open; Dust Tornado."
A tornado forms around Lua's trap, destroying it. With him wide open, Luciano points at him. "Skiel, direct attack."
The machine bird aims Lua and fires, a red bolt of destruction blasting him. He cries as he flips and almost falls off his scooter.
Lua: 1800
"Lua!"
"Don't fall just yet, Signers." Luciano then sets his one card before ending his turn.
Luca draws, moving in closer to her brother. "Lua, are you okay?"
"Yeah. This guy is tough, but we can beat him," says Lua as he stares at the blue bird. "But I'm gonna have to support you."
"Eh? Support me?"
"If you hadn't noticed, my deck isn't exactly suited for Riding Duels. Power Tool can't search for Equip Magic if I can't use them."
"And my Spellcaster deck requires Magic cards to get started!" she tells him with equal desperation. "Surely, you got something else."
"Don't worry. I'll protect you like I always have."
"No, Lua. We're gonna protect each other." Luca turns to Luciano, more determined now. "I summon Lyna the Familiar Possessed!"
Lyna appears with bright wings, twirling her staff magically. "Next, I activate the Speed Spell – Half Seize!"
Skiel Attack is drained of power, which enters Luca's body. "By cutting your monster's attack power in half, I can gain that much."
Luca: 3000
Skiel Infinity: 1700
"And as a result, I can activate the effect of Hane Kuribon!" Slapping the card onto the field, Kuribon is reborn as an angelic version of itself.
Hane Kuribon: 300/200 (1) Tuner
"If I gain life points, I can special summon this monster. And with that, I shall perform a Tuning with Hane Kuribon and Lyna!"
Her cute little mascot turns into a single star, before the ring it conjures passes by Lyna. The light charmer turns into four stars before evolving. "Synchro Summon!"
Appearing now is an elder sage with a powerful essence. He wears the traditional headgear and shoulder pads known for the Dark Magician class.
"Torunka the Prodigal Sage!"
Torunka: 1800/2200 (5)
As Luciano smirks seeing the monster appear, Luca continues with her turn. "Torunka's effect; I can add one Magic card from my graveyard to my hand." She pilfers her Speed Spell to her hand. "And, Torunka increases the attack of all Spellcasters by 700."
Torunka: 2500
"Battle!" Her monster raises his scepter as energy collects. It then fires upon Skiel Infinity.
"Skiel Guard's effect; once per turn, I can negate an attack." His monster raises its wings before it flies overhead, avoiding Torunka.
"Darn." She then takes a card and sets it. "I'll set this and end my turn."
Luciano draws for his turn, before smirking. "I'll use the effect of Skiel Attack 3 in hand, replacing my Skiel Attack." The metal bird's cannon disappears, before being immediately replaced by a bigger gun.
Skiel: 2400
"Your monster still isn't strong enough to defeat Torunka," says Luca as she stares at her monster. "Trap card open; Unpossessed!"
As her continuous trap card opens up, on another road following the duel are Yusei and the others. Seeing what's up, Jack shouts, "Hey, is that what I think it is?!"
"It's a giant five-part robot…" Crow realizes and immediately understands.
"Yusei… is that the Wisel you told us about?"
"Not really," he says, answering Aki, "but it looks similar…"
"This isn't good; Luca's summoned a Synchro Monster!" Jack says as he points out Torunka.
Luciano slides along the sides of the bridge while cackling. "It doesn't need to be to get rid of it. You're already in my trap."
"What trap?" Luca asks in a demanding tone.
Lua, however, is quiet as he watches his skill on the board. It's rather familiar. "… wait a minute… Luca! That's Luciano!"
"Eh? It is?!"
"Skiel Infinity's effect!" Luciano flips in the air until he comes up behind the twins. He then slides before correcting himself. "Once per turn, Skiel can absorb one Synchro Monster on the field."
"What?!" Luca then watches as Torunka is wrastled up by beam tendrils. They pull in and gobble up her monster.
"And my monster gains attack points equal to that monster's."
Skiel Infinity: 4200
"No way! I think that's why they caused Yusei so much trouble!" Lua realizes. He also just figured that Luca's trap card is now useless because Torunka wasn't taken out by destruction.
"Skiel Infinity, direct attack!" The machine bird aims Luca, before blasting her with its impressive cannon.
"LUCA!" As she's hit, a barrier forms before her, formed by Eria and Kuribon. They hold out just long enough, before being blasted away. Luca takes the remains of the blast, being sent flying painfully off her skateboard.
"Luca!" the other Signers shout. Aki stays behind to pick her up.
She rolls along the round, hitting her face and breaking her lens. Lua slides to a stop. "Luca!"
The girl slumps up, holding her bleeding face and left eye socket. "I'm… I'm fine."
"Oh, come on. I didn't think it'd end that quickly," Luciano chops, Luca staring at him in anger.
"You son of a…" Lua gets back on his board, held back temporarily by his sister.
"Luca, be careful."
"Don't worry. I'll take him down for you!" Fueled with rage, Lua resumes the duel, following Luciano.
"Good. Let's see if you're better than your sister! I'll set one card and end my turn."
The duelist cackles as they make their turn, pissing off Lua even more. "You won't be laughing after this. Draw!"
Lua looks at the card in his hand before smiling. Ideas start to form in his eyes as he comes to a solution. "While my opponent controls a monster, I can special summon this monster. Come forth, Cyber Dragon!"
His metallic dragon snarls before landing on the field in front of Lua.
Cyber Dragon: 2100
"Cyber Dragon?" shouts Crow as he sees it. "I don't remember him having that!"
"It must be a new monster he's gained," Yusei adds.
"Next, I will summon One-Shot Rocket!" His next monster is a familiar machine attached to two rockets.
One-Shot Rocket: 0/0 (2) Tuner
"A Tuner…" Luciano grins, seeing Lua about to fall for the same trap. 'I guess he's dumber than his sister.'
"I'll tune One-Shot Rocket with Cyber Dragon!" His tuner transforms, turning into two rings. Cyber Dragon passes through before turning into five stars. "Docking strength with courage will protect the world's peace; Synchro Summon! The envoy of love and justice – Power Tool Dragon!"
Power Tool: 2300/2000 (7)
"You haven't learned anything, have you?" Luciano mocks as he looks back. "Skiel is just gonna steal it on my next turn, and no equip magic in your deck can be used in a Riding Duel."
"Maybe not, but that's why I got my secret weapon! I activate Speed Spell – Speed Fusion!" Lua reveals his card, taking all of them by surprise.
"Wait, what?! Fusion?!" Luciano shouts seeing it.
"Fusion?" asks Crow upon seeing it.
"Lua can use Fusion?" Aki asks Luca while they watch on their monitor.
"So that's the secret training he's been undergoing…"
"When my Speed Counters are 4 or higher, I can perform a Fusion Summon using monsters I control or in my hand." He pulls a card from his hand, the infamous Gadget Trailer. "I'll fuse Gadget Trailer and Power Tool Dragon!"
Both of his monsters come together in the swirl of fusion. "By merging courage with strength, the world's peace shall bridge to hope; Fusion Summon!"
Appearing now from the swirl is Gadget Hauler, with different shades primarily red and blue. It then transforms; instead of turning into a rail gun, it morphs into a more humanoid shape. With its front turning into its chest, its legs containing wheels, the doors becoming arms and a head sprouting out, it looks like a true Deformer now. The Power Trailer flies out and attaches to its back, expanding to become a wingsuit and jetpack. "Appear now, Gadgetron the Deformer Prime!"
Gadgetron: 3400/3000 (9)
"When Gadgetron is Fusion Summoned, I can turn Power Tool into an Equip Magic for it!" Power Tool's phantom rises from the depths and forms around Gadgetron, causing it to extend cannons from its wings.
Luciano clicks his teeth. "A Fusion monster, huh?"
"Battle!" Gadgetron aims Skiel, charging its cannons.
"You're such an idiot! Skiel can negate your attack!"
"Wrong! Skiel can only negate ONE attack!" Gadgetron fires upon Skiel, but the blue bird dives left and avoids it. "But Gadgetron can attack more than once! Prime Blaster!"
Gadetron fires again, this time aiming at Skiel Top. The bird's head is blasted into nothing, throwing off its flight track. Luciano swirls a little feeling the damage.
Luciano: 1200
"Yes! I got you now! I'll set a card and end my turn!" Lua slaps Deformer Transition face down to the field before passing on.
Luciano corrects himself, staring down Lua with major annoyance. "So, Placido was right to worry about you Signers; you're already evolving passed our expectations. But, so long as you rely on Synchro monsters, we will always be above you!"
Luciano then draws his card, before slapping another card onto the counter. "I'll send Skiel Attack 3 to the graveyard to special summon Skiel Attack 5!"
His previous cannon disappears, allowing a bigger gun to appear in its place.
Skiel: 3800
"And, I'll summon Skiel Top 3 in its place!" A new Top pops up before assembling on top of Skiel's head.
Skiel: 4700
"And now, Skiel Infinity, using Skiel Attack 5's effect, allows me to attack you directly!"
"It what?!" Skiel takes to the skies before aiming Lua. The green-haired boy panics knowing that his trap is useless, before moving himself into a turn to escape.
"Bye-bye, Lua. FIRE!" His monster shoots a beam, sending Lua flying off the traps. The glass protection shatters as Lua is hit and falls into the sea.
Lua: 0000
"LUA!" This is Luca's turn to scream, watching her brother plummet to his doom.
As he falls, the six marks glow in response. A crimson barrier forms around Lua, halting his descent. It carries him up to the road, placing him safely there face up.
"What the?" Luciano looks up, seeing the being responsible. It's the Crimson Dragon, howling in the protection of the fifth Signer.
"Lua!" Yusei shouts as he and the others make their way to the track. Now that the duel is over, they can after all.
With Luciano, the boy deactivates his machine before he skateboards away. He gives one last look back to see the Signers reuniting, before scuffing. "Well, I at least got some experience out of it. We're gonna need something to deal with their improvements."

After that little duel, the twins are taken to the hospital. Lua is fine, albeit with a bruise or two, but Luca has some lacerations and scrapes from when she fell off the board in areas with little protection. They now sit side by side resting.
Lua looks at his sister with the bandage over her face. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, Lua."
"Lua, it's not your fault…" Luca says while sighing. "We both fell for his plan."
"Damn that guy. I'm gonna beat the crap out of him when Yusei and the others drag him back."
"I hope so." Luca pulls out Eria's card. "Eria, what can you tell me about that thing?"
Her spirit appears. "I don't know. Machine-class monsters do exist in the Spirit Realm, but we've never seen them before."
She then cups her chin while hugging her staff. "New monsters do get discovered over time, so maybe it's a new creation."
The door then opens and in steps Yusei and Crow. Lua gets up to join them. "Yes! You're back! Did you bring Luciano back?"
The two look at each other. "It's complicated."
"Did you at least question him?"
"Kiddo, there was nothing there." His face scrunched, Lua is perplexed by that statement. "We went to the building you told us, and it was abandoned. No one had lived there for years."
"What?!"
Outside the hospital, Aki and Jack are together. The former mutters, "I can't believe they disappeared… we're caught up in something weird."
"It doesn't matter with us. Jack Atlas will blow through everything!" He sounds confident, but inwardly, he's a little concerned. Will his power be enough?
…
Luciano returns to the galaxy room in his usual get up. There, Placido and Jose await him. "Well, that was fun."
"You were supposed to steal their Signer Dragons," says Placido as he holds his arms crossed.
"They didn't have the chance to do so! It's not my fault they were weak."
"They were simply unprepared for what you can accomplish. Some duelists aren't ready for Riding Duels no matter what." These are Jose's words. "Regardless, what we do hasn't changed."
"We should still steal those dragons though, or at least Yusei's. We just need another opportunity."
"Oh, I'll prepare one." Luciano snickers. "It all takes patience. Which reminds me, how's that program you're working on Placido?"
"I'll let you know when it's done."

Effect: You can only use each effect of "Winged Kuribon" once per turn. If you gain LP while this card is in your hand or GY: You can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. There must be a face-up Field Spell on the field to activate and resolve this effect. If your LP is at least 1000 higher than your opponent's: You can increase this card's Level by 1 for each 1000 points difference between your LP and your opponent's (max. 12). If this card is targeted for an attack: You can Special Summon 1 "Fairy Dragon" Synchro Monster or "Regulus" from your GY, then change the attack target to that card, and if you do and your LP are higher than your opponent's, it gains ATK equal to the difference between you and your opponent's LP.
