A/N The movies, beyond Wanda, don't talk much about Magic and certainly don't mention vampires. Except for Blade, which is apart of the same universe and my research shows that not only the X - men have dealt with them (Jubilee getting turned into a type of vampire before it was reversed) but both Captain America and Tony Stark as Iron Man have dealt with vampires. And there's apparently a type that specifically thinks spiders or maybe Spiderman himself, I'm not real clear on that, make tasty treats. Different types are apparently known as well so adding in the soulless demon breed of the Buffy show, not a big deal. In the comics Tony apparently doesn't have much of an interest in them unless he has to deal with some himself. But he's also an inventor, somewhat obsessive and has just found out he has a daughter who grew up in a town infested with them.

"So my tests agree with Charles' people's tests, Cordelia Chase is my daughter, sort of." Tony told Pepper.
"Sort of?"
"These created mutants DNA was custom built with extra bases. They have two genetic fathers and two genetic mothers. I'm one of her genetic fathers."
"Are they stable genetically?"
"They appear to be, at least no problems have been detected. It's also believed both Cordelia and her boyfriend activated in stages and prematurely at that."
"How do they figure that?"
"Cordelia's mental ability was forcedly activated with an outside source, then she became possessed and her physical abilities manifested."
"And in the boyfriend's case?"
"His bone claws have been there since birth, he just didn't know about them. His telepathy unknowingly activated within hours of him having to stake his first vampire. Who also happened to be the closest thing to a brother he had. At least that he knew about. He's since learned that he had a twin that died. Anyway, he was emotionally stressed and couldn't find comfort with the people who raised him so his newly activated ability unknowingly reached out to Jean, who he has a genetic connection to as she's one of his mother's. It would be seven years before he'd understand that because he instinctively blocked her from contacting him."
"Why would he do that?"
"He's been possessed himself."
"Oh, my. I wouldn't knowingly let someone in my head after that either. Have the rest of his abilities activated?"
"Yes, but he didn't know because the witch with a split personality kept erasing the knowledge that he's a mutant from his mind. She did alot of that kind of thing to everyone around her apparently. One of the many reasons, aside from trying to end the world while grief stricken over the death of her lover that she's locked up in the Vault."
"She might chose to do it again or someone could convince her to do it again."
"Exactly. Well, she may not have been created normally or even be as closely related to me as a child normally would be, but she's still my daughter and I want to get to know her."
"I can have a car readied to take us to Los Angeles, where she lives and works." Pepper offered.
"Thanks and Pepper?"
"Yes?"
"Thanks for being so great about this and for not making me ask you to come with. I would have asked because I need you with me, it's just nice that." He faltered in what he was trying to say. Emotional expression wasn't easy for him after all. Why else would he have spent years getting drunk and hiding in his lab tinkering with new inventions?
She just smiled and left to order the car brought around. Pepper understood him, that was a nice feeling.
The drive wasn't long since Malibu wasn't far from Los Angeles and passed in silence as they both had alot to think about.
'Vampires.' Tony thought, focusing on the less volatile information. 'And she and her boyfriend fight them, have since they were teenagers. Prior to knowing they had abilities. That takes guts and those guts could have been spilled before I ever knew she existed. Which is more terrifying, being a father or never being a father? I always figured I'd be a lousy father given how my father was. But knowing she could have died before I ever met her? I think that's scarier. The report on her life is terrifying but she keeps fighting. That takes courage, alot of courage. That's to be admired even if she wasn't my kid. I hope I'm not a disappointment to her, I used to do some pretty bad things myself. I don't think I've ever been so nervous in my life.'
"Tony." Pepper said. "I can pretty much guess what you're thinking. You're worrying about how you used to be before Afghanistan. Thing is Tony, you took a good hard look at yourself and your behavior and you made an effort to change. And you have, you can still be an idiot sometimes, but now you try to do the right thing and keep people safe as opposed to endangering them by making and selling weapons. And you're dealing with your PTSD from Afghanistan and not drinking nearly as much as you use to. You're a good man working on being a better man. If she's smart, she'll recognize that fact. And you don't survive fighting vampires if you're not smart."
"Thanks." He parked the car in front of the address of the detective agency Cordelia Chase worked at. 'Angel Investigations, named for the souled vampire apparently, since they investigate supernatural crime. Appropriate.' He thought.
"Ready?" He asked Pepper, assuring himself that he was ready.
"Ready." Pepper agreed and the two of them exited the car and headed for the entrance of the Hyperion Hotel.
