Okay, here we are! Back to the original concepts that brought clicks to my profile back in 2017. I've had many people PM asking for an attempt at a Saiyan Naruto again, so here we go.

This is my second attempt at making a Saiyan Naruto, just like in "Naruto, the Remarkable Saiyan." Instead of keeping to the plot in that story, I will use similar core points.

I'm planning on making this more of a multiverse fic instead of strictly Naruto & DBZ. If you don't like that, please let me know.

If anyone IS interested in a multiverse Saiyan Naruto fic, then let me know that too.

I also decided to delete the original story that I had. It just wasn't up to my current standards and I decided to terminate it. I like to think I've grown leaps and bounds since the first story. It's with a heavy heart that I had to delete it, but it had to be done.

However, that leaves room for new growth!

I will be taking a different approach than last time. I'll be keeping the core points of being a Saiyan & chakra-user, combining both. Feel free to review if you'd like, I encourage it!

If NO ONE likes this idea or fic, then we'll just call it here! I don't know how people will respond to this idea so it's up to you, the fans!

I'll see if this shoots up in popularity like my last one! Only time will tell.

On a side note, if anyone is following my other stories, an update will come soon for them. Check out my profile for current progress on any given story.

Birth of a Legend

Minato Namikaze considered himself to be a warrior his entire life.

He had been sent to some far-off planet as a baby, in hopes of conquering the species. Instead, he had crawled out of his spaceship as a toddler. The spacecraft had crash-landed deep into a forested area that would not be easy to find, even for a well-trained ninja.

It was eventually covered up by moss, vines, and roots. It would be a long time before it would be discovered again.

After crawling around on the forest floor without cause, Minato was found by a few Konoha ninjas coming back from a mission. Deciding to take care of the toddler, they brought him back home and turned him into a local orphanage.

They saw he had a tail attached, but the group of Konoha ninjas believed it was some form of an unidentified Kekkei Genkai. In their defense, they weren't too far off in believing it was hereditary.

Since that day, he was given the name Minato by the orphanage. His surname, "Namikaze," was something that he came up with. To his knowledge, there was no "Namikaze" clan in existence, so he made one up. It didn't matter to him in the end.

While growing up in the orphanage, Minato had a nasty temper. His jet-black hair and tail often made him stand out from the others, with even the patrons refusing to come near him at times. This only made him angry, as his natural temper was also that of a brat.

He was just naturally filled with rage, even as a child. It was something he was born with, something inscribed in his DNA. Almost like they were a part of his genes.

The teasing by other kids also made Minato hate his tail. It made him stand out, and he didn't like the stares he often received because of the appendage.

To make up for this, he often strapped his tail around his waist as a 'belt' and let others assume it was a piece of clothing. He didn't plan on correcting others who assumed it was a simple brown belt, despite the fur on it.

The only reason many kids stopped teasing him, was because the Hokage himself visited the orphanage. After speaking with many of the kids in groups, they slowly backed off the child.

The Hokage also spoke with Minato, asking about his tail. The child responded honestly, simply stating that he was born with it. It did bring up many questions, but the Hokage didn't press too hard. He also had a soft spot for anything resembling primates, given his summon was a monkey.

He often had to keep Danzo's ROOT away from Minato, preventing any captures and dissections on the child. He did have a unique quirk that many questioned, but the Hokage often stopped any attempts at spying on the boy.

After all, it was the duty of the Hokage to ensure each citizen lived a peaceful life. Hiruzen Sarutobi had learned this after he failed many people to Orochimaru's experiments. He never wanted another citizen of his to be used in such a manner if he could help it.

When he was still a child, Minato also dyed his hair blonde to get a new sense of identity. He wanted to be different, to fit in with the other kids. Yellow was his favorite color after all, so it made sense in his mind if his hair matched.

As time passed and Minato grew under the care of the orphanage, he was enrolled in the Ninja Academy. It was a right of passage for many people, to see where they stood in the Shinobi world. This is where he learned something extremely crucial.

He couldn't use chakra. At all.

Despite this, he could channel a certain energy in his body and bring it outward after much training. He could create orbs, blasts, and even launch the energy from his hands. In his adulthood, he would name one of these attacks the "Rasengan."

He was self-taught, as nobody knew how to help him grow in strength. Any moves or attacks he learned, he learned himself. The only person to help him along the way was a man named Jiraiya the Sannin, but he only came along in his teen life.

Many assumed he had some kind of Kekkei Genkai that allowed him to use chakra differently. He didn't care for these rumors or whispers, only about getting stronger. Strength was all that mattered to him.

That was until he met the love of his life. A girl named "Kushina Uzumaki," a girl who attended the same Ninja Academy as him.

When Minato saw her, he felt a sense of warmth fill his being. One day, he saw many kids bullying her about her hair. Before he could step in, Kushina had dealt with them at once, using her fists.

It was safe to say that Minato's heart was stolen that day. Her fierceness and ability to kick ass was something that fired him up.

When he was still attending the Academy, he had walked up to her and struck up a conversation. She was the only girl he could be around who didn't tease him or make him fill with rage. She brought a calming sensation to his life, despite the fact her attitude was rowdy.

Their friendship eventually blossomed into love, when he saved her from a few Kumo ninjas who attempted to kidnap her when they were young. From that day onward, the two grew closer and closer.

She had even found out about his traits. His monkey tail and dyed hair were something that Kushina found endearing, which made Minato realize she was much more understanding than others. In his mind, she was the perfect person.

She had accepted him for who he was. That was everything to him.

Seeing his hair was naturally black, Kushina insisted that he go back to it. In her mind, it suited him better than being something he wasn't.

So, Minato obliged. He removed the hair dye and allowed his tail to be loose around Kushina. The woman often liked to play with it from time to time, which Minato found amusing.

Throughout their teen years, the two grew in strength respectively. Minato found out that he could hit much harder than most people in general. Alongside his physical prowess, he could also manipulate the energy inside his body to mold around him.

He knew it wasn't chakra, but he didn't know what else to call it. For now, it was nameless as he didn't find it a priority.

On the other hand, Kushina didn't slack off either. She acted like a Kunoichi of their society, using blades, wires, and smoke bombs. Furthermore, she specialized in seals and her chakra chains which were great at holding back beings.

After seeing her chains during a spar one day, Minato found out Kushina had the Nine-Tailed Fox inside her body. In response, he confidently claimed he would beat the beast into submission should he ever hurt Kushina.

The woman often laughed at the memory when it came to mind.

Kushina also learned that her partner was originally not from this planet, arriving on a spacecraft. Of course, she didn't believe this at first, but many things disproved her logic. Minato's tail and the fact he couldn't use chakra were two dead giveaways.

After all, everybody was born with chakra in the Shinobi world, even civilians. However, Minato had no trace of the energy source.

It had taken a few days for the woman to come to terms, but in the end, she stuck by Minato. It didn't matter in the end, as long as he respected and loved her. She would always do the same for him.

When the Third Shinobi World War furthered, Minato had earned a name for himself. He was given a 'flee-on-sight' order as the man's strength was overwhelming. He could decimate large groups of Shinobi with his energy.

In a deeper level of his mind, Minato had a constant urge to conquer. Whenever he stood upon the broken bodies of his enemy, his soul flooded with thoughts of battle-lust. He felt the most alive on the battlefield.

However, he would then think about his partner. Kushina would never marry a battle maniac or someone who wanted to conquer the world, and he respected that. In return, he decided to live up to her expectations of him.

In return, she also acted as the perfect partner. She was loyal, fierce, determined, and headstrong in everything she did. To Minato, these were the perfect traits to find in a wife. He didn't have eyes for anyone else.

So he decided to make it official.

In adulthood, the two fell further in love and wed in secret. Only a handful of people were invited to the wedding as the couple didn't have many people they could trust. The Hokage was one of the few lucky ones, as Minato saw him as a reliable person. He often protected him in his childhood, which earned him points in his book.

For their honeymoon, the two traveled across the Elemental Nations in secret. They didn't have to worry about other Shinobi given Minato had overwhelming strength and Kushina could also hold her own in a battle.

Even S-Rank ninjas didn't scare Minato, given his power overshadowed theirs greatly. The gap between him and most ninjas was incredibly wide.

Granted, there had been some abilities that caught Minato off guard during his lifetime, so he had to be careful. His cockiness and attitude had nearly cost him his life at one point. He learned to not underestimate his enemy that day.

As part of their honeymoon, Minato had taken Kushina to the area he had landed in nearly two decades before. To his surprise, they had found his original spacecraft under a large amount of natural vegetation.

It still worked perfectly, even after two decades of non-use.

After clearing the vegetation away from the machine, the couple opened it up. They were both surprised to see a video begin playing with a hologram appearing from the capsule's window.

The video claimed it would only play after the Saiyan, named Amaranto, completed his mission of dominating the planet he landed at. They hoped he would survive and do well on his journey.

That's when the hologram revealed a young couple, around the ages of Kushina and Minato, looking at the recording. They explained how they were the Saiyan's parents and had to send their child away, given he was born as a low-class Saiyan.

Instead of being raised on their home world of Planet Vegeta, named after their King, their child was sent away to conquer another planet for their race. This child, Amaranto, was quickly found out to be Minato.

The couple explained they were a warrior race, bred for fighting and domination. It helped Minato find answers, especially those regarding his lust for battle. He had fought the urges, but they occasionally showed up if he didn't control himself.

Minato also noticed he had the couple's matching black hair, looks, and even tail. It made him widen his eyes, not used to seeing people that looked so similar to himself. It even managed to bring a sense of relief to him, realizing he did have a place out there for him.

The Saiyan parents also explained how they had a special ability only reserved for their race. Something called a Zenkai Boost would kick in after a Saiyan had a near-death experience. This ability granted the Saiyan a boost in natural power, speed, and other attributes once recovered. The more life-threatening the experience, the bigger the boost in power it was.

They were even able to explain the energy all Saiyans used, which was called Ki. This manifested from their bodies and could be used to cause destruction and mayhem.

One of the final things they spoke about, was their tails. His father specifically spoke about how if a Saiyan looked at a full moon with their tail out, they would transform into something called an 'Oozaru Form,' which was a transformation also exclusive to their race.

It made Minato happy he had never taken much interest in the moon. He was lucky that throughout his 24 years of life, he didn't look at it once while it was a full moon. He could have laid waste to the Shinobi world if he wasn't careful.

Finally, his Mother finished off the recording.

Once the hologram ended, the couple stared back for a few minutes. They processed everything they were just told, as it was a wild amount of information.

Eventually, Minato decided to take his space pod back with them just in case he could get the hologram to activate again. He wouldn't mind trying to tinker with the controls and understand how it worked.

He also had help from some of the best intellectual minds in Konoha, such as Shikaku Nara, to help him understand the foreign technology. Only the most secretive of Shinobi were allowed access to see the space pod, as it would cause too many questions if word got out that Minato was an alien.

The Hokage made sure to keep the information tight-lipped, however, Danzo had found out about it through his contacts. In response, the old man had tried accessing the compound of the couple only to be blocked by a sealing barrier. It seemed Kushina had expected these kinds of scenarios, so she had applied her respective seals to protect them at all times.

It made the man seethe, feeling Konoha could benefit greatly from such technology. Furthermore, he assumed that Minato could repopulate and provide children who would defend Konoha to the end. In his mind, Danzo only sought the betterment of the village.

Not long after their union together, the Third Shinobi World War came to an end. Iwagakure had decided to sign a treaty, emboldened by Minato's strength. They knew it would be nearly impossible to beat Konoha in a war if Minato fought on their side.

With no war in sight, a new sense of peace filled Konoha. While many were still wary of the other Hidden Villages, it wasn't outright hostile.

In the eyes of Kushina, it was a perfect sequence of events. Now that they didn't have to worry about a war, the two could try and have a family. It seemed like nothing could go wrong in their lives.

That was until the day Kushina gave birth to their son.

Konohagakure – Hidden Location

Minato saw his wife was going through extreme labor pains, huffing and puffing relentlessly. They were both now at the age of 24, coming a long way since their academy days.

He had mellowed out dramatically after being at peace with his wife. Getting answers from his parent's hologram recording also helped his consciousness. He no longer felt out of place, because he knew where he was from.

He looked on as his wife was going through the process of childbirth. She was sweating profusely while the Hokage's wife, Biwako, helped through the process. They were located at a secret location to ensure nobody would try and interfere.

Both warriors had accumulated a large number of enemies throughout their lives after all. It wouldn't be safe to have their child's birth be public.

"Push, Kushina!" Biwako shouted out while being under the covers. She was helping the woman deliver the child with a smile, "The baby's crowning! You're almost there!"

The red-haired ninja clenched her husband's hand, who responded with a supportive squeeze. He could tell this was an incredibly painful experience for his wife.

"I'M TRYING, BIWAKO!" Kushina cried out in pain. She was clenching her teeth while pushing with all her might. "NARUTO, YOU NEED TO COME OUT RIGHT NOW!"

"You're doing great, just keep breathing…" Minato encouraged while his tail swayed behind him. He had mellowed out as an adult, realizing that fighting didn't give his life purpose. Instead, it was his wife who had given his life some semblance of peace.

If it wasn't for her, he would most likely still be the destructive person he was as a child. Now, all that mattered to him was a family.

If only he knew how rare that was for a Saiyan.

"I'M TRYING!" Kushina yelled out again with clenched teeth.

"He's almost out! Just a little bit more!" Biwako yelled out with a grin. Seeing newborns always brought a smile to her face. She had a soft spot for the babies.

It only took a few more moments before a new life was brought into existence.

"WAA! WAA!" Cried out a black-haired baby. He had three whisker marks on each cheek and a brown tail trailing behind him. After cleaning him up, Biwako smiled.

"He's alive and healthy!" The midwife said with joy. She wrapped the newborn in a soft blanket while handing him over to Kushina. Slowly retracting her hand from Minato's, Kushina looked at her newborn baby.

Despite being exhausted, tired, and exasperated, Kushina felt a shock of energy run through her body as Naruto was placed into her arms. She gave a smile while peeking into his blanket, prodding around with her finger.

"Hi Mr," Kushina teased while staring at her baby's closed eyes. He was screaming his lungs out, wailing loudly. "Shh…shh, it's okay little one. Me and your daddy are here, there's nothing to be scared of…shh…"

Minato watched with amazement as his wife slowly calmed down their baby. His wails softened, followed by sniffles. He could tell their child had a pair of lungs on him.

However, nothing beats a Mother's love. It seemed his baby was already a mama's boy. He chuckled at the thought.

"Well, Minato," Kushina smiled, looking over at her husband, "Aren't you going to introduce yourself? You're standing there like a statue or something!"

"Sorry!" Minato laughed out. Peeking over his wife's shoulder, he spoke aloud, "He's beautiful…" He felt an instant connection with his son. At that moment, Minato truly felt like he would die for his son if needed. That was a Father's love, and no one could take that away from him.

"He is," Kushina agreed with a nod of her head, "He has your hair and tail…now I'm jealous. I mean, I carried him for nine months and he has your looks? That's not fair…" She spoke in a joking manner, rocking her baby up and down.

Minato snorted, finding it amusing that his wife would compete for their DNA of all things. It made him shake his head with a grin.

"Don't fret now, Kushina," Minato said while taking in the form of their baby in deep slumber. He had been cradled to sleep by his mother rather quickly. "He has your facial structure and eyes…"

He had seen his newborn baby open his eyes a few times, so he got a good look at their color.

It was the same as his Mother's, a deep violet.

"I wonder what the whisker marks are though," Kushina spoke aloud while smiling. "I've never seen that before."

"I'm assuming it's a by-product of the Kyuubi being sealed inside you," Biwako theorized while cleaning up the birthing station. "It's the first thing that came to my mind."

"That doesn't matter," Minato said with a grin, "I'm just happy he has a set of healthy lungs! Did you hear his wail? It sounded like a warrior!"

"Psh," Kushina stuck her tongue out, "Of course you would care about something like that. Be thankful he went to sleep right now, or else we'd be hearing his wails nonstop."

"The mother's right," Biwako nodded while grabbing her utensils, "A baby's wails are one of the 'joys' of parenthood…it's something that you'll never forget…" The midwife shuddered, remembering when she birthed Asuma. The cries of a baby were incredibly distinctive, even decades later.

Bringing his thumb forward, Minato softly poked his child. His son's soft snores filled the air, a smile spreading across his face.

"Come help me put away these things, Minato," Biwako stated while walking away with her arms full of medical supplies. With a nod, the Saiyan followed her while picking up the remaining items.

Before Minato could respond, Kushina nodded. "Go on, Minato. Me and Naruto will be okay," she teased with a smile. She could tell the father already had his protective instincts, not wanting to be separated from his family.

The two had decided to name their baby Naruto after the main character in Jiraiya's books. It didn't sell the best, but both liked the story of the character within the book. Furthermore, it had a double meaning of maelstrom which Minato liked.

With a sigh and smile, Minato obliged. He followed Biwako as the midwife led him as they walked.

The two walked down the hall, ready to pile the supplies for them to be sterilized and cleaned later on. The sound of their footsteps filled the hall.

"So do you think Kushina will face any health problems? Anything lasting?" Minato asked out of earshot of his wife. He didn't want his lover to hear this conversation in case he worried her.

"What do you mean?" Biwako asked while turning her head over.

"Naruto's birth took a toll on her body," Minato said in a low tone. "I could tell she was barely hanging on, even though she put on a brave face. She's probably minutes away from passing out."

"Hmmm…" Biwako hummed while walking, "I can't be certain, but it would be best if Kushina took it easy for now. While she may be weak now, it's nothing that a few weeks of rest can't fix."

"Good, that's a relief," Minato said with a small smile.

"You've come a long way, Minato," Biwako replied as the duo dropped off their supplies on a kart. They were planning on taking the kart out later and returning the supplies to the hospital in Konohagakure. "I still remember when you were a loud-mouthed, rowdy kid who only cared to fight. It's still crazy to think you would settle down and start a family."

"Well…" Minato dropped off the supplies in his hands while looking over, "The love of a great woman can change any man!"

"Very wise words," Biwako nodded with a motherly smile.

"AHHH!"

Hearing his wife scream, the hairs on Minato's neck and arms rose in alarm. Without thinking, he vanished in a blur while running back down the hall.

Covering her face to prevent the dirt from flying into her eyes, Biwako stared in concern. She ran after Minato, hoping nothing bad happened to Kushina.

"KUSHINA! KUSHINA!" Minato yelled while dashing through the hallway he came from. Coming to the large opening, he saw something that made his blood boil.

His wife, who was already severely weakened from childbirth, had a Kunai pointed at her neck. She couldn't move as a masked figure had his palm around the back of her neck. Naruto remained dormant in his mother's arms but Minato could tell he was beginning to stir.

"Don't move, or else she dies," the masked man said with no emotion in his voice. He wore a dark cloak covering his figure while a white mask was placed over his face. Their movements were sharp, showing they had some Shinobi training.

"How did he get past the barrier?…" Minato thought with narrowed eyes. They had placed a sealing barrier to prevent as many enemy Shinobi from entering while Kushina was giving birth.

It was clear they had been watched for some time, given the assailant only attacked when Kushina was by herself.

"Minato," Kushina said weakly, her eyes fluttering. "Just save Naruto, don't worry about me."

Raising his Kunai higher, the attacker seemed ready to end his wife's life. In an incredible burst of speed, Minato shot forward.

He knew he was one of the strongest, fastest, and quickest people on the planet. He wasn't ranked in S-class for no reason.

However, in a rare moment, Minato was outsmarted.

He brought his fist back, ready to bash this person's head in. He knew his speed was too overwhelming so the attack should land. And it did.

Only for his fist to pass through his skull with zero resistance.

"W-what?!" Minato's eyes widened as his fist slowly passed through the ninja's head. It felt like he was seeing his swing in slow motion. The shadowed attacker seemed to expect this, as they did not move at all."He must have intangibility…solid attacks will go right through him if he can react in time…"

These thoughts went through Minato's head in a second. He was used to thinking critically in a life-or-death battle.

Minato flew forward due to the momentum of his attack. Just as he turned around to deliver another attack, he saw his wife and son disappear in a swirl. He saw the air warp around them before they disappeared altogether, along with the assailant.

"Minato! Kushina!" Biwako yelled out while running out of the hallway. Seeing an empty operating table, Biwako looked over at Minato in concern. "What happened!?"

"Somebody took Kushina and Naruto," Minato said in a serious tone before tensing his body. "I'm going to search for them."

With a burst of speed, Minato was gone from sight.

"Damn…" Biwako muttered before running out. Everything had gone so wrong, so fast.

Ten Minutes Later – Somewhere on the Outskirts of Konohagakure

The masked figure looked on as Kushina Uzumaki was chained, held up by her arms. The Kyuubi's chakra was being extracted slowly but surely. The newborn child was placed on a rock nearby, wailing its lungs out.

Despite the immense pain of having the Kyuubi extracted and having just given birth, Kushina did not die. She stayed resilient, her child being the main motivation for her to keep going. He was her everything.

"WAAA! WAAA!" Naruto's cries grew louder and louder as time went on. It seemed the newborn could sense something was wrong. "WAAAA!"

The moon above illuminated their surroundings.

"Your husband is likely scouring the lands as I speak…" the masked figure pointed out while he extracted the beast. He stood near Kushina's chained form, slowly retrieving the Kyuubi from its container. "…know this is nothing personal, however, my goals must be met…"

More and more red chakra poured out of Kushina, taking the form of a massive fox. Once it was complete, the Nine-Tailed beast took shape once more. The chakra slowly formed fur, claws, teeth, eyes, and other details.

Kushina grit her teeth in pain while feeling the last wisps of the Kyuubi's chakra leave her body. She felt her head slump forward.

She felt powerless, exhausted, and extremely tired. Her son was crying loudly nearby and she wished her arms could wrap him in her embrace.

Looking up, her jaw clenched at the sight before her.

The Kyuubi roamed the lands once more.

The fox's eyes slowly shifted into a Sharingan, showing it was likely under the control of something else.

"I must admit, I didn't think my luck would allow this to go off as smoothly as it did…" the masked figure said in a monotone voice. "As a parting gift, I will allow the Kyuubi to slay its previous jailer."

The Kyuubi's eyes shined before he roared. The land shook from the shock waves with many trees swaying in the distance.

"Shhh…it's okay Naruto…" Kushina comforted with a tired smile, "Everything will be okay…" Despite her current predicament, it was a Mother's job to comfort their child. It didn't matter how exhausted she was.

"WAA! WAA!"

"Now Kyuubi," the masked man said, "Kill your previous container."

With another roar, the fox brought his claws forward to complete his command. The air parted, making way for the deadly weapon.

He was aiming to slaughter both Mother and son in one go.

CLANG!

To everyone's surprise, including the Kyuubi's, the sharp claws bounced off a sphere of energy. There, emanating from the newborn, was a black sphere. It enveloped Naruto and Kushina completely.

The baby's wails increased in intensity while Kushina looked on in shock. Even she couldn't believe that her child had just protected the both of them.

"Impossible!" The masked figure said in alarm. "How does a newborn have the power to stop an attack from the Kyuubi?!"

He had never seen anything like this before. A few seconds later, the black sphere washed away as the newborn seemed to scream his lungs out.

"Did Naru…did he just save me?" Kushina thought in wonder, unsure of what to say. She couldn't believe that her newborn baby had already done something incredible. He hadn't even been alive for an hour, yet, he had already done something even grown men couldn't do.

At that moment, the cloaked attacker disappeared and reappeared above the Kyuubi's head.

In the next second, Minato appeared with a scowl on his face. He had arrived beside Kushina, tearing off the chains from her arms. He also scooped Naruto in his arms, reuniting his family. Kushina instantly held her child, hushing him to sleep once more.

He looked up at his foe, thoughts running through his mind, "He knew I would be coming…" It seemed the longer he fought this man, the more questions appeared in his head.

"How did…how did you know where we were?" Kushina said after a small pause. The young mother was still trying to catch her breath after everything that had happened. She held Naruto in her arms, cooing him to sleep once more.

"I felt…I felt Naruto's energy," Minato said after collecting his thoughts, "I don't know how, but it felt like he excluded Ki."

"That's because he did, Minato," Kushina said in a low tone, "He protected us from the Kyuubi's attack. He formed a black sphere around us."

Before Minato could respond, their conversation was interrupted abruptly.

"It seems I cannot shake you for long, Minato Namikaze," the attacker said in a low tone, "Your reputation precedes you. You have truly earned the S-rank category placed upon you."

"Cut the crap!" Minato spat out, huddling near his family, "Why are you doing any of this? What's your game!?"

"My goal is for Konoha to be reduced into rubble. The Kyuubi is the easiest tool in my arsenal to accomplish this goal. Your family is simply collateral damage."

Minato narrowed his eyes, "I will kill you." He meant the words with every fiber of his being.

"Perhaps you will," chuckled the masked figure, "But first, you'll have to get through the Kyuubi."

With a roar, the beast prepared to attack the family of three. Its eyes briefly flashed into that of the Sharingan.

Minato had two thoughts on his mind.

Get his family to safety…

And kill the bastard who hurt his family.

Konohagakure was currently in panic mode.

Citizens were running to hide away while active Shinobi were preparing for combat. They had seen the Kyuubi appear in the distance and were afraid of what would come.

As for the Hokage, he was currently dashing to the Kyuubi's location. He had been notified by his wife of what occurred, which made him notify his direct subordinates. Within a few minutes, all of Konohagakure knew about the situation.

They didn't know how it escaped or what occurred, only that the Kyuubi was free once more.

"Why did they go after Kushina? Who could possibly want the Kyuubi for their benefit?" Hiruzen Sarutobi had these thoughts go through his mind while roof-hopping closer and closer. He felt the wind brush past his hair while he was dressed in complete battle gear.

His sources had notified him that they had seen the beast in combat with Minato Namikaze. The ground shook from explosions in the distance. He winced, knowing that the destruction would be more severe the closer he got to the fight.

As of now, he couldn't tell who would win the battle.

As Hokage, it was his duty to protect all citizens under his rule. That is why Hiruzen hoped he would arrive in time to protect Kushina and Minato. They had not been parents for long, it would be cruel of fate to deprive them of the luxury.

He still remembered the worried look on his wife's face when she told him of what had happened. His ANBU had been sent out to escort citizens while he charged forward.

Hiruzen thought about how to end the Kyuubi. Even if Minato could subdue the beast, they still had to find a way of finishing it for good. He had a few options, but he eventually came to a conclusion.

With a determined look in his eyes, Hiruzen sprinted even faster to his destination.

He had a job to do.

As a Hokage and as a leader.

The battle between both ends had gone on for a while now. However, it was clear that Kyuubi was losing.

While Minato did have a few scuffs around his body, it was nothing serious. On the other hand, the Kyuubi was panting slightly from the effort it was using to stay in the fight. His nine tails had burn marks around them, caused by blocking many of Minato's Ki orbs.

The masked figure stayed atop the fox's head, almost like his feet were glued. Minato could have sworn he saw the lone eye narrow as the fight dragged on.

Deciding to keep his pace, another Ki orb appeared in the palm of the father.

Minato watched as he fired another Ki blast into the side of the fox. The resounding explosion caused the beast to roar in pain while also firing his own projectile in return.

Knocking the condensed ball of chakra away with his hand, Minato watched as it destroyed the landscape around it.

Looking down at his hand, he saw redness and inflammation spreading. It seemed deflecting the Kyuubi's attack took more effort than he previously thought.

His hand throbbed and stung, but he didn't care. He needed to protect his family, so he would.

Currently, Kushina and Naruto were together behind a boulder. Kushina had used her Adamantine Sealing Chains to wrap them both in a cocoon. In case the masked figure did get past Minato again, he would have to get through her chains.

Deciding to end this, Minato flew into the air before sending another Ki orb directly into the masked assailant. It was now time to see what he did.

To his surprise, the cloaked fighter jumped off the Kyuubi's head and landed on the ground below. He assumed he would stay atop the fox's head given he had intangibility.

After the orb made contact and the explosion died down, Minato watched as the Kyuubi slumped forward onto its paws. The nine tails flowing behind him also fell onto the ground with loud thuds.

The Sharingan pattern slowly dispersed from its eyes, a sign that he was no longer being commanded.

"Congratulations, Minato," The masked figure said, "You have been able to-"

Without responding, the newly appointed Father rushed ahead to finish the fight.

"Just as expected," the cloaked figure smiled to himself, "He'll fall right into my hands and I'll be able to teleport him away with my-"

Just as Minato was inches away from his open hands, the foe blinked in surprise. Instead of grabbing on his opponent's arm, he felt nothing but open air.

"What?!"

SQUELCH!

"Ah!" The cloaked figure felt the air leave his lungs. Looking down, he could see an angered Minato standing behind him. His right arm was protruding from his chest, a fist coming on the other end.

It took a moment before he realized what had happened.

"He moved so fast…he left an afterimage behind…" The cloaked fighter widened his eyes in surprise, "…his raw speed is just that fast…"

He couldn't even tell he had disappeared from his spot until the very last second. He fell for the trap, believing he could capture his foe.

It seemed that Minato was holding back his full speed earlier. Now, he was paying for underestimating his opponent.

Grunting in pain, the figure disappeared before appearing across his opponent.

"It looks like you've bested me for now…" the low tone filled the air, "You've forced my retreat for now…Minato Namikaze…"

With another swirl of air, the attacker was gone.

Minato had contemplated pushing him once more while he was talking, but he didn't know what other tricks the person had. He decided to play it safe after landing a deadly blow. It was safe to say their family wouldn't be bothered for now.

Seeing the threat was gone for now, Minato eyed Kyuubi's fallen form. It seemed the fox would be down for now.

With a final glance, he rushed over to his family.

Turning the corner, he let a smile cross his face, "Kushina, we're safe for now! I-"

Minato's heart stopped as he stared at his wife's face. She was smiling, tears unshed from her eyes. A small trickle of blood from the sides of her lips stained her clothing, showing she had signs of internal injuries.

Naruto was wailing in his mother's arms. The newborn baby was firmly placed within Kushina's arms.

Even in death, she held onto her son.

"No….no, no, no, NO!" Minato shouted out while clutching his deceased wife. He enveloped her in a hug, carefully ensuring he didn't hurt Naruto in the process. He couldn't help the tears that fell from his face.

"It…it was too much…" Minato reasoned to himself. She had just been through a difficult birthing process and had the Kyuubi forcefully extracted from her. That alone should have killed her right away, but she had pushed for as long as she could. "My lovely Kushina…"

At that moment, Hiruzen Sarutobi arrived only to see the heart-wrenching scene. He lowered his head, "I'm sorry, Minato…I wish I was here to help sooner…"

Minato's tears didn't last for long, but the pain in his heart remained. After wiping his face, Minato slowly grabbed Naruto from his Mother's arms.

"Kushina…Kushina might be gone, but I still have to take care of Naruto," Minato said with a quivering voice. Many people of his race may have seen him as a weak fool, but he had truly loved his wife. She was the one to show him what the emotion meant.

"I know," Hiruzen nodded, "This-"

Their conversation was interrupted by a loud roar. Turning their heads, they could see the Kyuubi was trying to rise once more, ready for another fight.

"Damn thing won't go down for good…" Minato muttered. "I'll just have to kill it after all."

"No," Hiruzen shook his head, "If we kill it, it'll just reform later on without issue. We need to think of a permanent solution."

"Such as?" Minato questioned, feeling that the Third Hokage had already thought of something.

"We need to seal it…" Hiruzen trailed off, "For that, we need a container. Only those with Uzumaki genes or powerful chakra can seal the Kyuubi within them…"

"So you're planning on sealing it in Naruto? Am I right?"

"Yes," Hiruzen sighed, "I know it's probably not what you want to hear right now, Minato, but it must be done. Otherwise, everyone in Konoha is at risk of dying to the beast."

"Even if I did agree, how would it be done?" Minato asked while clutching his son, "Kushina was the only one with great sealing abilities that I knew of."

"You're right, she was one of the best. Which is why I'm confident this will work," Hiruzen said, "She taught me this after all. It's called the Shiki Fujin, a sealing technique so powerful it calls upon the Shinigami for power. We can use this to seal the Kyuubi within Naruto."

The Kyuubi made its presence known, rising once more and swaying its tails around.

"We must hurry!" Hiruzen said while looking at the beast, "I need your approval Minato, can I seal the Kyuubi in your son?"

Minato looked down at his son's soft snores. It seemed the day's events had tired him out, as he was falling asleep.

He wondered if this would be the right decision to make. The burden would be placed on his only child.

He didn't want to allow the beast to be sealed in his son, but he looked over to his deceased wife. She had done everything to protect their child even in her final moments.

It then occurred to him that there would be times he wouldn't be around his son. In those times, he would need something to rely on. In case his Saiyan power didn't appear, the Kyuubi would be a great tool for his defense.

He contemplated the decision, thinking what Kushina would have wanted.

Then he made his choice.

"Fine," Minato nodded with a serious expression on his face, "But let's do this quick."

With a nod in return, both individuals turned to face the Kyuubi.

They had a beast to seal.

A Week Later – Konohagakure

Minato peered into the crib his son was sleeping in. His soft snores and little movements warmed his heart.

His tail also swayed side to side, hitting the edges of the crib. Nothing changed, except for the complex seal array placed upon his stomach. It would occasionally appear, only ever showing up for a brief moment.

Hiruzen had sealed the Kyuubi in Naruto as his final act as Hokage. The old Shinobi had help from Minato to weaken the fox once more before it was sealed. Both halves of the Kyuubi now resided within Naruto, who was none the wiser.

A few days after the Kyuubi's extractions, Konohagakure had held a funeral for the Third Hokage. Everyone who was capable of walking attended, with many citizens openly shedding tears for their leader.

In private, Minato held a different ceremony for his wife. Her funeral was something that would never leave his memory. He had lost his life partner, his lover, wife, and Mother of his child that night. No woman would ever compare to her.

In the time since, Minato had collected every scroll and Jutsu he could find. He wanted his child to be able to pursue his ability to mold chakra in the future if he wished, a gift he did not have.

Thanks to his good friend, Fugaku Uchiha, all the scrolls were placed in a storage seal. It was possible through Fugaku's chakra since he couldn't use the energy at all.

Furthermore, Hiruzen had told Minato to tell his advisors that he wanted Jiraiya to be the next Hokage after his death.

Minato had informed the appropriate individuals of Hiruzen's final wishes. Whether the Sannin agreed or not, was left to be seen.

With everything in place, Minato had decided to leave this planet.

There was nothing left for him here now that his wife was gone. She was the only light in this world to him, besides his son.

He wished to raise his son among the Saiyan race. To do that, he needed to search off into space to look for them. If he couldn't do that, then he wanted to get at least a fresh start in life while raising Naruto.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

Hearing a knock on the door, Minato walked over and opened it. There stood Shikaku Nara, another good friend of his.

"Hey," Shikaku said, "I was coming to bring over some treats Yoshino made. We heard about Kushina's passing and wanted to express our condolences."

"Thanks, Shikaku," Minato nodded, "Please place them on the counter over there." He pointed to the counter in his kitchen.

"So how are you holding up?" Shikaku asked while placing the baked treats on the counter.

"I'm…still processing it…"

Raising a dark brow, Shikaku asked his question, "You're planning on leaving, aren't you?"

Letting out a chuckle, Minato looked over, "It's that obvious, huh?"

"No, I just know how to read you," Shikaku laughed. "…but seriously, where do you plan on going?"

"I'm not sure, Shikaku," Minato sighed, "Kushina was my everything. Now that she's gone, I don't see a reason to stay here anymore…"

"What about us, Minato? Your friends?"

"Don't get me wrong, I appreciate you all," Minato said with a tired smile, "But you have your own families to take care of. I do as well. I need to think about what the best thing for Naruto is at this point."

"I understand your concerns, but do you think leaving the planet is the solution?" Shikaku asked with a genuine tone of curiosity.

"I don't want to raise Naruto in the same environment I was, Shikaku," Minato responded curtly, "If it wasn't for Kushina, I could have turned out much differently. I want the same opportunity for my son. He has my blood in his veins, so I know his genes could cause him to lash out at times. I want to be there for him. Besides, he is now a Jinchuriki so who knows how he'll get treated once word gets out."

Even the Nara clan leader couldn't refute Minato's last point. It was true that many Jinchuriki were outcasts or treated harshly by their respective village. There were even reports that Iwagakure treated their Jinchuriki like pests.

Shikaku sighed while crossing his arms, "…Do you even have a good understanding of how to work your spacecraft?"

Minato chuckled, "Yes, I do. With your help and some tinkering, I've figured out the controls. Thankfully, it's just big enough for me to carry Naruto in my arms as we fly."

"But what if you don't reach another planet in time? What if you starve or die of dehydration before you make it onto solid land?"

"I know the risks, that's why I've packed everything in a bag," Minato answered, "It'll hold us both for a month if needed. I want to visit my home world, but if I can't, then I'll focus on a secondary option."

"Do you really hate this place that much? That you're willing to risk it into the unknown?"

Minato didn't answer his friend's question, but his silence was more than enough.

Shikaku looked down, "…I wish you nothing but the best Minato. You've always been a great friend to me."

Minato walked over and placed a hand on Shikaku's shoulder. With a smile, he said "Hey, that doesn't mean I won't visit. I just want to raise Naruto in a better environment than I ever was. My reputation here has already made enemies for him just because he's my son. I can't risk his death every time he's out of my sight."

"You can't even build a home in the forest somewhere? Away from prying eyes?" Shikaku tried in a last-ditch effort to keep his friend.

"I don't know if that's the best for a growing boy," Minato chuckled, "I want Naruto to have friends, something that won't be possible if he grows up in isolation."

The two shared a moment of silence, letting the air around them grow somber. He had never truly felt at home on the planet, with Kushina being the only attachment he had to this place. Now that she was gone, he no longer cared for the land besides his friends.

However, his friendships could not keep him here alone. His son was a priority and if he felt he couldn't raise him adequately here, he wouldn't.

It was a hard decision to make, but it was his to make. As the only parent, he had to make the choices for his son.

"Kushina was always better at these types of decisions…" The thought trailed off from the widowed husband, once again reminiscence about his wife. He had truly loved her with his soul. "She picked the color of his crib…the type of food he needed…the clothes he would wear…I miss her so much…"

Minato was then broken out of his thoughts by his friend. He looked over, realizing he had spent some time daydreaming and dozing off. Shikaku didn't notice, continuing on with his words.

"-promise you'll visit sometime? I would hate for my son to never meet his unofficial uncle."

"I'll see what I can do," Minato smiled, "Hopefully we'll be back here soon enough. I do want Naruto to at least see his Mother's clan grounds in Uzushiogakure some day."

"I see…" Shikaku then smiled at his good friend, "I hope we can see you both again one day."

With a final goodbye, both adults departed. Shikaku left with a somber expression on his face while Minato got everything ready for his travel. Both could feel this would be the last time they would see each other for a long time.

Grabbing his bag of supplies and sealing scroll with the jutsu that Fugaku sealed, he was ready for departure. He would be leaving later that night, when everyone would be asleep.

Seeing a few photos on the wall, Minato decided to place them into the bag. They were of Kushina and himself. He also found a scrapbook she was making before Naruto's birth. Once again, he placed it in the bag.

Some of the photos were taken during their wedding, others were taken while she was pregnant with their son. He smiled looking over the pictures.

Naruto would at least know what his Mother looked like. He took too much after her after all, such as his facial structure and eyes.

Walking over to a certain section of his home, he opened it up to reveal his space pod. It was in prime condition after being cleaned and examined by Shikaku. He had programmed it to find their original home world, but only time would tell if it was correct.

He reached one hand in his son's crib and gently scooped him up. Naruto was snoring softly, his tail swaying from side to side. His whisker marks and violet eyes being among his most distinctive features.

He picked Naruto up with one hand and the space pod up with the other. He wanted to launch from deep into the forests of Konohagakure so he wouldn't attract any attention.

Taking a look around his home, Minato gained a sad smile on his face. He could still remember the smiles, laughs, and giggles that used to fill this house. His wife was the source of joy in the household.

Shaking his head, he looked down at his newborn son. He couldn't focus on his wife at the moment because his son needed him. He would need to step up as a father and be there for Naruto.

"Kushina…" Minato thought while taking a final glance around, "…I want you to know that you birthed a beautiful baby boy. I'll take care of him until my final breathe…I promise…"

Minato felt a brush of wind pass him, causing his eyes to widen. He didn't believe in many spiritual beliefs, but at that moment, it felt like his wife was smiling down on him.

With a small smile, Minato prepared to head out into the forests.

He would be leaving by that same night.

Konohagakure – Hokage Monument (Nightfall)

"Lord Danzo," spoke an unidentified Shinobi, kneeling with their head down. "It appears that Minato Namikaze is missing. We have reports that he is not in his home, along with his son. We don't know where he is at the moment."

"Interesting…" Danzo thought to himself while overlooking the village. A cane was supporting his weight on one hand. "Our Hokage dies, the Kyuubi Jinchuriki is dead, and one of our most prominent fighters is gone….the village will need serious help to thrive…"

"What are your orders, Lord Danzo?" the Shinobi asked once more. "We will follow them without delay."

Danzo hummed to himself, contemplating his next words. He needed to think critically and long-term for the village. The Nine-Tailed attack was still fresh on everybody's mind so their people were already startled as it was.

"For now…we wait. However, we will need strong leadership to thrive during these hard times. Word cannot get out that we have lost our Jinchuriki or other villages may get the idea to attack."

"Yes, Lord Danzo."

"The Fire Daimyo is already looking for Sarutobi's replacement. It seems the old fool wanted Jiraiya to take his place….however, I have a different plan in mind. Time will only tell if it succeeds…"

The subordinate kept his head down, but Danzo could tell he was hearing his words. He had trained his Shinobi to be proper machines, listening and taking orders.

It was something he was incredibly proud of. Killing off the emotions of a Shinobi truly brought out the motivation to do what was necessary for the betterment of the village. Hashirama hadn't believed that, nor did Tobirama or Sarutobi, but he did.

Danzo dismissed his subordinate with a wave of his hand. Without needing another sign, the Shinobi disappeared in a burst of speed.

"Tobirama-sensei…you made the choice to pick Sarutobi long ago. I'm wondering if it was the wrong decision in the end….." Danzo looked on in thought, "…I will no longer wait on the sidelines. Konohagakure needs a strong leader, and I can provide."

Danzo looked over his village, pride filling his veins. From the bustling merchant district to the civilian district, everything was under his protection. Anything he did for the village, was in its best interests.

At least, that's what he thought.

From the First Hokage to the last, Danzo believed Konohagakure deserved its strong leader. He was the most disappointed in Sarutobi, but he bid his time. Now that he was gone, the opportunity arose to take the mantle for himself.

It would take some planning, but everything did. Whether he accomplished his goal or not would be seen. He needed to convince the Fire Daimyo that he was the best choice whether willingly…or unwillingly.

The only person he couldn't best in battle or outsmart was Minato. The man was just too strong, quick, and powerful even for him. He had grown stronger than any other Shinobi in the village. If he dared, Danzo believed the man was stronger than even the First & Second Hokage.

He was an anomaly, a specimen that deserved to be studied. However, Sarutobi always blocked any attempt he made at getting close to the man. Even as a young child, Sarutobi kept a watchful eye over the kid.

His abilities and appearance were too foreign for Danzo to accept. If he couldn't dissect or gain his seed, he wanted to recruit him into ROOT. Yet again, Sarutobi also blocked that attempt.

He wanted to try again with his son, Naruto, but the child was taken away with his father. They were both gone, however, he would await their reappearance.

He could wait. He could wait for a long time.

Just as Danzo turned away, he caught something from the corner of his eye. A red streak was breaking through the sky, going higher and higher.

He didn't know it at the time, but he was witnessing one of their strongest villagers leaving the planet's orbit.

And thus, the birth of a legend would shake the universe forever.

Done with the first chapter of this new story! Sorry if it seemed a little rushed, it was more of a prelude to the story.

First off, I just want to remind you all, that YOUR VOICE MATTERS!

Something to consider about sealing the Kyuubi in Naruto. He's only able to hold half of the fox's chakra due to it being potent and powerful. In this fic, his Saiyan genes helped seal the entire beast since they're strong by nature. The other half of his genes consists of Uzumaki DNA, which is known for its longevity.

I'm still on the fence about whether to continue this since it isn't strictly Naruto & DBZ like my old story. This story would have Naruto encounter other beings in the galaxy from other sources of media.

I would plan to have this story bring in other media naturally. I want to see the reception on the first chapter before I actually put any more effort into this story.

This chapter was more of a background to set up the story and give an insight into how this version of Naruto is with the ability to use chakra alongside having his Saiyan traits.

Also, some things to consider. I decided to change Minato's backstory to fit this story's premises. The "Namikaze" clan is also a clan that isn't noted for anything special or particular, so it wouldn't have any 'existing' members if Minato made the name himself. The only reason most people think the 'Namikaze' clan is powerful or has connections, is because the fans made it that way. The official source material doesn't have much in terms of members, history, etc.

My version of Minato is altered, despite having many of the same traits and backstory as the official version. I wanted to be more creative with this fic, so I'm taking routes others may not like.

Also, since power levels are pretty much pointless, I won't include them unless people want to see them. It's basically just a number with no meaning since the author will truly decide who wins in the end. Of course, power scaling is important in a fight, but power levels don't really do that anymore.

Some ideas I have of Naruto being in other worlds/universes as a Saiyan:

"DBZ"

"One Punch Man"

"To Love Ru"

"Highschool DxD"

"Invincible"

Etc.

OR we could focus on one specific universe. I had a few people PM me asking for a Saiyan & Invincible fic, but I'm open to other ideas. This can lead to many different opportunities.

He could be a patroller of the universe or anything similar. I have different plot points in mind if people think this idea is good enough to go forward with.

If no one shows interest in this, then let me know! I want to see what you all think. This is my most ambitious idea so far I would say.

Until next time!

~ Cheers!
