Hey, I'm back, and boy, am I excited for this new story that I just posted. This is my first Halo/avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes story that I started writing, and I hope you enjoyed it just as much as I enjoyed writing it. Yes, I used the beginning of my Halo Wars story for this story's beginning, but with a different plot twist to it. Now, I'm pretty sure you're all asking me. Why are you doing another marvel meet Halo story? Haven't we seen enough of those lately? Well, dear reviewers and readers, I'm here to tell you that the story will be different because it's going to include all of our favorite marvel cartoons such as The Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Wolverine in the X-Men, Fantastic 4 worlds greatest heroes, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Spectacular Spider-man, Doctor Strange the animated movie, Moongirl & Devil Dinosaur, Marvel Rising, What if, and finally The Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow. And if any of you are wondering what this reality is called, its designation number is reality E-6596. Also, in case any of you are wondering, the Master Chief will have a girlfriend and get married in this reality, but I'm not gonna tell you who it is cause I want to leave it as a surprise also, the Spirit of Fire as well as Blue team, Noble team, and Red team will be appearing in the storyThe rest of the UNSC, as well as the Infinity will be appearing later on in this story. As well as the Swords of Sangheilios. Anyway, those are the only heads up that I can give for this story for all of you to look forward to in the future. So, without further ado, let's get on with it, shall we?

Even in victory, there will always be defeat. Mark Turfo

Prologue:

"THAT'S IT! GUN IT, CHIEF"! Exclaimed Cortana. Master Chief then slammed his foot into the accelerator of the Warthog. The Warthog then made the jump towards the hangar of the UNSC frigate, the "Forward Unto Dawn". The warthog bounced on impact with the hangar's floor, which caused it to flip and tumble further into the hangar. The Elite and the Spartan recovered quickly from the crash, but the Dawn soon shifted to gravity's right side. A Scorpion Tank began to slide towards the Arbiter, Thel Vadam then sprinted at a pile of crates to take cover. The UNSC tank then plowed right into the pile of crates. The Chief leaped over the Warthog and looked over to see the Arbiter digging out of the pile of crates unscathed. The Chief nodded at the Arbiter, and the Elite nodded back, acknowledging to the Spartan that he was all right. The Arbiter rushed to the bridge while Spartan-117 ran to the hangar panel and plugged in his trusted A.I. companion, Cortana, so she could take control of this frigate. Cortana appeared on the panel with her glowing, light blue holographic form. "Hang on!" the A.I. shouted.

Cortana ignited the thrusters at full burn and launched the Dawn at full speed away from the exploding Halo. The Chief grabbed onto the terminal, hanging on for dear life as the Dawn left Halo's atmosphere. As the Spartan tried to stay anchored, the Warthog flew out, which struck John on its way through the open hanger doors and out into empty space. The Chief flew off the panel and then glided down the floor towards the doors, with the self-destructing Halo looming beneath. The Chief punched his fist hard into the floor to get a grip, halting near the back end of the hangar. Cortana reached out her arm towards him, scared of losing him. "CHIEF"! Cortana yelled with worry in her voice.

The Scorpion flew out towards the Spartan. Seeing the tank looming towards him, Chief ducked his head just in time as the tank flew over him, narrowly missing the Chief. The Scorpion smashed the floor behind John-117 and fell back towards Halo. John began to climb back up to Cortana. After a few precious seconds passed, the Master Chief finally made it to the holo tank that contained the A.I he went through the Flood infected High Charity. Meanwhile, the Arbiter reached the bridge and sat at the controls. Chief braced himself behind the panel. The Spartan reached his hand to the panel to recover Cortana's chip to plug her back into his helmet. The Spartan felt the cold sensation go through his body as his A.I. companion was again safely in his MLJONIR Mark VI helmet.

"If we don't make it..." Cortana said, sounding as if she was accepting death. "We'll make it". The luckiest Spartan replied with confidence in his voice, "It's been an honor serving with you, John". Said the A.I. using Chief's real name for the first time in a really long Master Chief finally rested his head back, exhausted from the events that occurred on Earth, the Ark, High Charity, and the new Halo. The Halo Installation suddenly exploded, which engulfed the hangar in a binding white light. All goes blank white as John closed his eyes.

On what is now UNSC's most important and respected memorial stood Lord Hood, The Arbiter, and eight Marines armed with Battle Rifles. Lord Hood now started one of mankind's greatest speeches. He took off his white military hat to pay respect for those who had fallen and to those who had made a huge contribution to the war. "For us the storm has passed, The war is over.'' Lord Hood bowed his head to show his endearment, "But let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure…sacrifice and unshakable conviction that their fight, our fight, was elsewhere".

Flashback:

The "Forward Unto Dawn" crashed into one of Earth's oceans. UNSC personnel had quickly arrived on the scene of the wreck with emergency boats, Pelican dropships, and UNSC Frigates. An engineering crew had cutted into the Dawn with torches on the wreckage of the battered frigate. When the search and rescue crew came on board, they thankfully found The Arbiter onboard. A little banged up and bruised, but otherwise alive. Unfortunately, nobody else was found on board the Dawn. Which made them realize that the greatest hero of humanity ever to live had finally met his end with honor.

End of flashback:

Now the Arbiter watched the memorial, the Elite stood solemnly with the Marines. He listened to the UNSC's leader say his speech for the heroes who had died in action to the onslaught of the Covenant and the horror of the Flood so humanity could live on. "As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten". Admiral Hood placed his hat back on and saluted. The Sergeant of this honorable memorial turned to the other marines present at the event. The Sergeant issued orders to the Marines, "PRESENT ARMS"! Seven Marines raised their Battle Rifles with pride, each firing a single burst of three shots: a 3-volley salute. The view panned over the Ark Portal, now closed and silent. Later, Hood and Supreme Commander Rtas 'Vadum stood alone at the Memorial, which appeared to be a Pelican wing decorated with pictures of the fallen, including Commander Miranda Keyes and Sergeant Major Avery Johnson, and so many other soldiers who fought bravely for humanity. "I remember how this war started. What your kind did to mine. I can't forgive you. But..." Hood held out his hand to The Arbiter. "But you have my thanks. For you and your people to stand with us to the end". Lord said as he made a reference to the one who won them the war, The Master Chief.

The Arbiter slowly took the Admiral's hand and shook it with his own four-fingered hand. After letting go, Hood turned to the memorial once more to look at a sad site that he thought he would never think they would ever see or really anyone would ever see, the Elite shared Lord Hood's sad gaze. "Hard to believe he's dead." The UNSC leader said with sadness, still not wanting to believe the most famous Spartan that won the war for the human race was with other Spartans that were now M.I.A. "Maybe he can finally be at peace and be happy forever more". Lord Hood thought. The Elite in white armor looked away towards the Assault Carrier, Shadow of Intent, which hovered silently in the sky of Earth. "Were it so easy". The Arbiter finally spoke to Lord Hood. A phrase he had used when he and the Master Chief first met each other under more friendly circumstances. After a moment or two, The Arbiter left the Memorial. His Separatist Phantom headed back to the Shadow of Intent, which still hovered in about the same position the Portal to the Ark once was. The Arbiter then met back up with Supreme Commander Rtas 'Vadum who was on the bridge and looking at a holographic image of their homeworld.

"Things look different now, without the Prophets' lies clouding my vision. I would like to see our own world… to know that it is safe". Commander Rtas 'Vadum said as if he was looking at his home world for the first time. "Fear not. For we have made it so". The Arbiter spoke with pride and confidence. Supreme Commander Rtas 'Vadum clenched his fist to his chest as a sign of honor. "By your word, Arbiter." The blue-armored Elite spoke with respect as he repeated the gesture the Arbiter made. The silver armored Elite took a seat on the command chair, as he assumed command of the "Shadow of Intent". "Take us home". The Arbiter commanded as he and every other Elite on the Assault Carrier were eager to see their home planet, Sanhelios, safe and sound. The Shadow of Intent left Earth to rejoin the remains of the Covenant Separatist fleet in space.

"Chief, Chief, Can you hear me? CHIEF"! The Master Chief's eyes shot open as the air entered his lungs after being knocked out of him. As he came to his senses, he floated around the now half-cut Forward Unto Dawn. As he drifted through zero gravity in one of the debris-filled hallways, Cortana said to him in relief, "I thought I was going to lose you, too". Chief mentally smiled, appreciating his friend's concern. As he stared through a gaping hole in the hallway, he drifted on until he finally arrived at the cryo bay. Once he came into the cryo bay, he then took his assault rifle from his back and holstered it in a container near a cryotube; as the Chief prepared for cryo sleep, he asked Cortana, "What happened? I thought we made it through the portal to earth". "We did, but I'm not sure what happened. When Halo Aray fired, it shook itself to pieces and did a number on the Ark as well". Cortana told him as she recounted what had happened after they left the uncompleted Halo before it blew up. "The Portal couldn't sustain itself. So it collapsed just as we made it through the portal". As the Chief continued preparing the cryotube, he looked out the hole at the end of the hallway, which opened into empty space. Some parts of the Forward Unto Dawn were still red-hot. Considering that the ship had just been cut in half.

Knowing who he was thinking about, Cortana sadly told the Master Chief, "Well... some of us made it". They had both hoped that the Arbiter had survived, but the fact that they didn't see what had happened to him after the ship was cut half made them wonder where he went and what had happened to him. As he finished the final sequences for the cryopod, he took out Cortana's A.I. chip from the back of his helmet and plugged it into Holotank. As he did this, Cortana said to him in relief, "But you did it. Truth and the Covenant, the Flood, It's finished". "It is finished". Chief agreed with her, unsure how he would feel about all of this. Sure, part of him was glad that war was finally over. But the other part of him wasn't sure what he was supposed to do now that the war was over. Guess that he'd have to continue soldiering on. Not really sure what else he could do anyway. As he climbed into the cryotube, Cortana told him from the holo tank, "I'll drop a beacon, but it'll be a while before anyone finds us. Years, even". As the cryotube door began to close, Cortana said her final words to him, "I'll miss you, John". Even though she couldn't see it, she could tell that the spartan was giving her a one-of-a-kind genuine smile as he said to her, "Wake me, when you need me".

Cortana smiled at his words and nodded as the cryotube closed and sealed itself; the Master Chief closed his eyes as the freezing comfort of cryosleep washed over him. Meanwhile, in a space beyond our understanding, five figures of great power all stood in a circle around a pensive with a mirror that showed them what had just happened to the Master Chief. One was a bold man with a blue Greek toga with a golden armor chest plate; another was a goatee-bearded, black-haired man who whore a purple, red, and yellow cloak with the same colored monk clothes under it. He also had a golden necklace that looked like an eye of some kind. The other two were a woman in a red and white spider-style outfit. She had white hair and a red blindfold over her eyes, and the lower half of her body was a mechanical spider body. The other was an African American with a white sholderpaded suit and blue-dyed hair with the right side of his head shaved off. Along flame tattoos on his chin and arms. The last figure was a woman who whore a long ethereal dress with a high-tech advanced crown of some kind. Her facial features were human-like with the exception of her nose being almost lizard-like. "So you are certain that this was the only path that could be taken for the Reclaimer to save our reality". The ethereal-dressed woman asked the blind spider-woman.

"I, along with Strange, have looked and seen into 1,000,943 timelines, my old friend. Out of all that we saw, only three were the right choice". The ethereal-dressed woman nodded as she turned her head back to the window. "Well, not that this has been fun and all with bringing a famous wartime hero from one reality to another, I must take my leave. As you already know, using this kind of power is tiring, and the only way for me to recharge is by messing with a few Moon girls in the multi-verse". The four figures all grow in annoyance at African Americans' ability to find fun at others' expense and annoyance, namely Moon Girls. As he left in a flash of light, the goatee-bearded, black-haired man known as Strange said to the bald being, "I understand why you recruited him, Watcher, but couldn't you have found a less annoying version of the Beyonder? I mean the one from Earth-92131 is more agreeable and can be easy to work with". The bald being known as the Watcher said to Strange, "While I do agree with your opinion on our version of the Beyonder, Strange, he has a very important part in what is to come. For as you know, Master Chief wasn't the first or only person to enter Reality 6596". Strange, the blind spider woman and the high-tech, ethereal-dressed woman all nodded in understanding. Knowing fully well that the greatest threat that the Master Chief had ever faced would come into the reality that he had arrived in and that he would need all the help and allies that he could get.

Meanwhile, back on earth, another battle was taking place, as well as another living legend, fighting it. Captain America, the legendary United States war hero and first super soldier, as well as his best friend/sidekick/partner/brother at arms, Bucky Barnes, were finally going to defeat their arch-enemy, the Red Skull, once and for all. However, when they, along with their howling commandos, got to the Red Skull's last base of operations, they discovered many dark and disgusting secrets. Smart bombs, Nerve gas, Germ warfare, as well as many other secretive projects that the Red Skull had been working on could be seen all throughout his laboratory. But that wasn't the worst of it. When they were both captured by the Red Skull's forces, they saw that he was taking and controlling mythical creatures from what the Skull called the Bifrost. Thankfully, they stopped his plans for these creatures from being used in his plans for world domination, sent them back to their homes, and closed the Bifrost portal. Unfortunately, this caused the Red Skull to escape, and while he did, he swore terrible vengeance on Captain America and Bucky for ruining his plans for Hydra world domination. As he made his escape, Bucky said to Captain America, "We have to get out of here, Cap; the whole place is coming down"!

Captain America, however, only shook their head as he said to his lifelong best friend, "Not this time, Bucky, this time, we're taking the Skull out for good". Realizing that what they were going to do was a one-way trip, Bucky nodded in understanding as he followed Cap's lead. As they tracked down where the Red Skull was, they made their way to the roof of the base, where they saw the Red Skull trying to escape in what looked like a rocket jet hybrid of some kind. "There he is, Cap". Bucky said as he pointed out the obvious. Seeing that he only had a short amount of time before the Red Skull escaped, he turned to Bucky and said to him, "Bucky, stay here and secure the fortress". Before Bucky could argue, Cap sprinted as fast as he could at the jet and was just able to catch the jet's ladder, unaware that a friendly stowaway was right behind him. As he climbed the ladder while the Jet took off, a most familiar voice from behind him called out, "I got your back, Cap"! Captain America turned around in shock and a bit of anger at seeing his long-time partner climb up the ladder to him. "Bucky, I told you to st…". Cap started to say before Bucky interrupted him. "Yeah, I know. But we're partners, right? We watch each other's backs, remember". After hearing this, a huge smile broke out all over his face, and in his eyes was nothing but pride at seeing just how far he and his best friend had come".

"Then let's finish this, partner". Captain America said with pride. As Cap and Bucky finally made their way over to the cockpit (which wasn't easy because of the wind speed pushing on them), Cap smashed his vibranium shield against the glass of the cockpit. To which it shattered, allowing him to grab the Skull by the scruff of his uniform. "It's over, Skull". Cap said with conviction. But to his surprise, the red skull started to laugh maniacally, and that caused him to realize that the Red Skull had one less trick up his sleeve. "Finally, something we agree on". Without warning, the red skull quickly flipped some switches in the cockpit's controls that caused a bunch of diles to turn on a timer of some kind. "Goodbye, Captain America"! The red skull cackled with glee as he pressed a button that caused his seat to eject from the jet. "No"! Shouted in anger and frustration at being outwitted once again by one of his greatest enemies. Even when it was at the end of the greatest war that humanity had ever fought in. Seeing that there was nothing that could be done about defeating his greatest enemy and rival, Captain America tried to see what he could do about the jet. Only to realize that the timer that the Red Skull had set was already at 30 seconds. Realizing that they didn't have much time left, he said to his oldest friend, "There's not enough time Bucky, we're going to have to jump for it"!

Bucky complied with what his friend had said and tried to let go of the ladder, only to realize in horror that his foot was stuck. "I can't let go, Cap, I'm stuck"! Seeing what the problem was for his friend, he tried his best to figure out a way out of this predicament as he said to Bucky, "Just Hang on, Bucky, I'm coming down to help"! As he came over to help his friend out of his troublesome predicament, Bucky realized sadly that there was only one way out of this for one of them. As he tried to remove his friend's leg from the ladder, Bucky said to the super soldier, "I'm sorry, Cap". Cap looked at his partner and long time friend and said to him "Stow that talk, we'll make it". The teenage soldier and brother-at-arms said to him, "No, I mean, sorry, but the world needs Captain America more than Bucky. Just know that whatever happens, it was an honor serving alongside you, Steve". With that, Bucky kicked him off the jet, where he started to fall right into Artic, where they had been flying over. Realizing what he had just done, Cap cried out helplessly to his friend as he fell into the water. "No! NOOO! BUCKY"! Those were the final words he'd ever said before the jet finally exploded, destroying Bucky and itself in the process. That was the last thing that Captain America ever saw before the aftershock of the explosion knocked him out.

As he fell unconscious, he landed in the freezing water and sank beneath the surface, where ice started to form all over his body. But unlike most humans, the Erskine super soldier serum in his blood would allow him to survive the Arctic's freezing temperatures in a sort of cryosleep. As the legendary American war took a long sleep, the world around him changed and grew, and he continued to sleep, not knowing he would not only meet a great war hero like himself but also lead a team of the world's mightiest heroes ever to live.

Well, everyone, that was one heck of a prologue, and to tell you the truth, I'm looking forward to writing the first chapter of this new and awesome story. Also, in case any of you were wondering who those characters were in that inter-dimensional void, they were the Illuminati of the multiverse. The members of this version of the Illuminati were The Watcher, Doctor Strange Supreme, Madame Webb, the Beyonder, and finally, the Librarian from the Halo universe. Also, in case you were wondering what the threat they were talking about was, I guess you'll just have to wait and see in the future. Also, in case you were wondering, The Avengers will be interacting with threats from both their universe and the halo universe. Also, before any of you ask, there will be no flood in the story. Why because the flood has already been defeated, simple as that. Another thing you should all know is that the master chief will face an enemy that will be his rival in E-6596. And before any of you even ask, no, it won't be taskmaster because that would be far too easy. Plus, it will be like me copying off of CaptainRex75's Avenging 10 story, which is something I have no intention of doing. The enemy that he will be facing will be the daughter of one of Iron Man's greatest enemies and rivals. Also, in case you were wondering, the master chief will be telling his origin to not only the Avengers but also the S.H.I.E.L.D and the United Nations and the president. Also, in case you were wondering, this universe will be a lot kinder to mutants than the original one in Wolverine in the X-Men, but the thing that will remain the same is that Colonel Moss will be part of a terrorist group that you already know about called the friends of humanity. Anyway, that's all I can reveal as of right now anyway, please let me know in the reviews what you want to see in the future and what characters you would like me to add for the story. Anyway, adios hasta Lavista Yeehaw.
