A/N - I miss this show...and this pairing, so very much.

Jac had heard that Faye had done a runner and now Joe was having to talk with police and lawyers and doctors and all sorts. She knew that he was going to be gone for a while. So she took the stairs up to maternity and the nurse on duty let her in, considering Jac had been with Joe nearly every time he came up to see Harry and Faye.

She stood outside the room and after taking a breath she pushed the door slowly open. The room was dark, but there was enough light coming in through the windows for Jac to make out the cot in the corner of the room. She switched one of the side lights on and grabbed one of the chairs and placed it down next to the cot.

"Hey, little guy." She said softly as the baby wriggled and turned his head to look at her. There were no tears or screaming, he just looked at her. She lifted her hand and placed it gently next to his hand and it took a few moments before he latched one of his hands around one of her fingers. Jac smiled at that.

"I'm Jac. You're Harry and I think we're going to be seeing quite a lot of each other." She said softly as he just looked up at her and her intriguing eyes.

"Your mom is going to cause you a lot of trouble, this I know. But she's still your mother and you'll still love her, no matter what she does. This I know from experience." She says and re-adjusts herself on the chair so that she's leaning on the basin a little more. Giving herself more access to the baby, who seems ready to escape, if only he could move.

"Now your dad. He's really special. You might never see it because he'll be sending you to private school and making you learn the violin but coming from me. He's the greatest guy there is." She says and sighs thinking about the other man.

"So you're going to spend a few years, not really understanding what's going on, but don't worry when you do start to understand why the world is hell, I'll be there. I'll give you the guidance that your father will be missing from your education." She explains and smiles down at Harry and then he starts to grumble and so she leans over and lifts him out of the basin and cradles him in her arms.

She stands up and starts to walk around the room with him, ending up by one of the windows, staring out, tilting Harry up and around just enough that he's also facing outside.

"I'll teach you how to ride a bike, pedalled first and then motorised if we can convince your father. I'll take you to karate class or ballet class, or whatever it is, that you feel like attending. I'll show you horror movies and thrillers and then when you are older, I'll teach you how to curse in about six different languages." She says smiling down at the little one as they both stand there and watch the world outside the window.

She gently hears the door open but doesn't turn and when there's no noise from whoever's in the doorway she can only assume it's Joseph.

"You'll be alright kid. And if your father really does end up messing you up, I'll come to your rescue." She says gently and turns and doesn't look up at Joseph as he crosses the room towards her. He places one hand gently at the back of Harry's head and the other he uses to lift Jac's chin to look at him.

"You'll be great with him. If you want to stay." He says and when Jac smiles, it's practically a confirmation so Joseph leans in the two share a kiss. It doesn't last long, because Harry clearly doesn't enjoy losing all the attention.

"Go on feed him." Jac says passing Harry over and she grabs her jacket from where she left it discarded on the bed. "I'll go grab us some food." She says and turns once in the doorway, to look back at the two people who are changing her life.
