Klaus sighed glancing up at the clock above the bar and noticed two things, it was late and she was pretty drunk.

The events leading up to this were actually quite simple, the hybrid had been practically dragged by her younger brother Kol to the bar tonight only because he didn't want to go alone, basically guilting her into it with his eyes like most younger siblings do.

Not that the blonde hated going out and drinking from time to time but the hybrid got bored rather quickly if there was nothing to entertain her.

"Why so glum sister," Kol asked curiously as he sat down next to the older at the bar, a happy smile on his lips. "How can you possibly be in a fowl at a bar containing alcohol?"

Klaus then shook her head with a pressed frown slowly stirring her whisky glass in the air.

"Mhm, maybe it's because I don't enjoy watching you flirt with every pretty skirt you see Kol."

"Oh please Nik," The younger original defended, rolling his eyes. "If you didn't want to come you wouldn't be here."

"You know if I remember correctly you're the one who practically begged me to come because you didn't want to come alone."

Kol let out an agitated sigh at his sister's attitude saying, "Fine, then I guess we can leave in thirty minutes unless you find someone that can get you out of your sour mood."

The bar was quite crowded tonight and it had a combination of humans, vampires, and werewolves socializing and drinking. Some are blissfully unaware of what some of the others might be hiding trying to just have a good night or find someone to take home.

Kol had already found a few girls he be content to spend the night with but leaving Klaus alone to fend for herself would not get him into his older sister's good graces, so perhaps another night.

"Mhm fantastic," Klaus said in a sarcastic manner taking a sip of her glass, glad she was finally getting to leave after hours on end. Her limbs were exhausted and sore as she got to her feet and began to walk towards the door. "I need some air so try not to cause a scene while I'm gone little brother."

The younger original smiled with a charming gleam in his eye as Klaus pulled the door open.

"You have such little faith in me sister."

...

A minute later the blonde was outside the bar soaking in the cold air of the night, stuffing her hands into her jacket pockets. It was refreshing to step out from being stuffed in the bar for so long.

The only thing that took away from the moment was the lack of quiet.

A nearby group of guys playing around close to the bar kept things lively and loud, two things the blonde didn't want to be around, Klaus could tell by the smell they were a pack of werewolves.

An aggressive bunch of werewolves by the way they kept roughhousing and pushing each other into asking the hybrid out.

Finally one of them walked up to the blonde and asked, "Hey there beautiful can't help but you're all alone tonight."

"I believe that is none of your business so why don't you run along like a good little boy before I rip out all your organs for all your little friends to see."

The werewolf was not deterred and continued to talk to the hybrid, her obvious displeasure of his presence being ignored as he said, "Feisty one aren't you, let me guess werewolf? No, I smell vampire on you too so which is it?"

"Sod off," Klaus growled out harshly, anger clear in voice as she got the words out, the blonde ready to attack as soon as the man got close enough.

The werewolf was not afraid as he got closer to the hybrid keeping the same annoying smile on his face as he did, he was probably pretty drunk to have the nerve to try and get closer to her right now if Klaus had to guess.

That probably combined with the fact they probably aren't from around here only made it more believable that they would try and pull a stunt like this to her, after all everyone around New Orleans knew about the Mikaelsons and what they looked and sounded like.

For that exact reason it took zero hesitation for the hybrid to think she gave more than enough warning before she charged forward before the werewolf had time to even realize it, in a second the man's neck was snapped and he was falling to the ground dead.

Once Klaus got close enough to the man she could tell he was one of the alphas of the pack, meaning the other one was probably standing somewhere in the middle of the group over by his friends.

A voice from the pack then yelled, "Now why'd you do that!?"

It was very simple, she did it because she could, and because they were getting on her nerves.

The blonde killing all of them wouldn't even be that hard given her position and would cure her current boredom so she allowed the whole thing to play out like this almost from the beginning.

"I warned you did I not," The blonde said condescendingly, a murderous yet playful look on her face. "If anything it's your own fault your friend ended up that way."

Two of the six werewolves from the remaining pack then charged at Klaus in record time, each going straight for the neck.

Before they could even make it halfway there the hybrid had already snapped one of their necks and quickly moved on and went right for the other's heart, ripping it out like it was nothing.

The other alpha in the group then sprang up behind the blonde and attacked.

Yet right as Klaus turned around to face the assailant he was thrown to the ground by another, the impact swiftly knocking the air of the werewolf as he tumbled.

The newcomer slowly walked in front of Klaus protectively asking the pack, "What do you think you're doing mate?"

"I didn't need your assistance Kol I was fine without your sudden interference," The hybrid said in slight annoyance as she glared at the younger.

The original turned and looked back at the older with his signature grin.

"I can't let you have all the fun now can I sister?"

"Kol," Klaus warned as she held herself back from arguing with her brother.

"Come on Nik let me have this I'm bored," The younger pleaded putting on his best pitiful and puppy dog eyes, his motives actually being more than he let on. "I dragged you out here and made you stay let me handle them... please sister."

Caught in a quick flash of weakness the blonde agreed with an aggravated sigh starting to back off.

What was the harm in letting her younger brother handle all of them? It wasn't like it mattered anyway no one would come to help the pack of werewolves so this should be pretty simple to take care of in a couple of minutes if she was being honest.

During this time it took Klaus to ponder that the pack of wolves were all stepping closer to the pair in aggravated confusion while they talked as though they weren't even there, they all thought it was insulting how much these siblings ignored them while talking with so much confidence.

"Fine but do not make me come to regret my decision."

Kol cracked his neck as he stretched then darkly added, "That's all I ask."

Following the original's sudden declaration, every one of the werewolves was dead within ten minutes.

A Few Hours Later

It was near sunrise when the two siblings arrived back at the Compound.

Both Klaus and Kol sang off key in a random song they picked up at the bar as they walked in the door, paying no mind to any of the other residents staying in or around the building.

All in all the pair had fun partaking in taking care of that pack of werewolves and drinking a few more rounds afterwards. They enjoyed letting loose a little with each other that they rarely indulged in without the company of their other siblings.

Speaking of siblings the eldest of the Mikealsons currently staying in New Orleans was sitting in the armchair in the living room as he continued to read his latest book.

"I see you two had a pleasant evening out," Elijah commented as his eyes noticed the appearance his two younger siblings had. The original could tell they were obviously still pretty intoxicated as their steps were unbalanced and unsteady.

The youngest of the three originals smiled and looked over at his hybrid sister.

"We had a swell time Elijah, isn't that right Nik?"

Klaus gave a brief genuine smile answering, "It was surprisingly a rather entertaining night."

The oldest original in the room narrowed his eyes, as if to confirm something, and in an instant he was face to face with his sister.

A hand then gently grazed the side of the blonde's cheek over the dried blood.

There were no remnants left of any injury present on his sibling's face but Elijah could tell that something used to be there, something rather larger than a small cut.

"Who did this?" The eldest asked coldly as he carefully watched both the younger two's reactions, not missing a thing as they blinked up at him sluggishly.

"It was nothing you needn't concern yourself with brother," Klaus replied as she waved Elijah's concern off. "Just some of the fun we mentioned from drinking earlier, isn't that right Kol?"

The youngest original in the room nodded in agreement a smile playing on his lips.

"Yes sister, it was quite entertaining."

Elijah sighed tiredly as he started to lecture the duo, "I can't leave you two alone back then just as I can not now without blood being spilled, why must you two still behave like in our youth, it is unbecoming."

This comment making both Klaus and Kol shoot back.

"Arse."

"Prick."

The oldest original ignored the two boredly saying, "Children please..."

"You know what whatever I'm going to bed," Kol then decided as he left his older siblings thinking he spent more than enough time with them after tonight, because even though he had fun there was only so much you could take before you want to dagger them in the heart so leaving now on good terms was probably for the best. "Bye Elijah, night Nik."

With that the youngest was gone just like that, the door echoing the only thing remaining of the original.

This left Klaus stuck with the oldest original as he then swiftly whipped out his handkerchief and started to dab at the blood covering the hybrid's cheek, it slowly coming off as he did so.

"Elijah," The hybrid warned as she wanted him to quit fussing over her face.

The older stood his ground undeterred calmly saying back, "Niklaus."

"Brother I'll clean it later."

The original suppressed a sigh, anger slightly rising.

"Niklaus please stop making this harder than it has to be."

The blonde scoffed and looked off to the side saying, "I guess even the great Elijah Mikealson cares about his unredeemable sister sometimes."

Call it her being drunk and brash or trying to push him away in response but Elijah didn't take the bait and his response left the blonde successfully in surprise just as their eyes met.

"I have always cared about you."

Silence then engulfed the room as neither said a word, Klaus having no idea what to say to something with the same amount of affection. It didn't take long for the hybrid to recover from the words said but it was just enough so that the older could finish cleaning all the blood.

"You may not believe me but it is the truth," Elijah added as he stepped away scanning her appearance once again for anything else before tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, then soon proceeding to exit the room with a certain determination. "Now I have some matters to attend elsewhere so I will take my leave."

The older voice then softened as he looked back one last time to say goodbye.

"Rest well Nika."

It had been practically decades since Klaus heard that nickname from the older, him only doing so on rare occasions at random times, every time catching the blonde off guard similar to now.

Due to this fact the hybrid stayed in silence as the older one left, this only served to magnify the reaction with the help of the alcohol in her system, till only four words made their way out of her mouth just as Elijah stepped out the door.

"T-thanks I will, brother..."

The sentence itself was low under the blonde's breath but Elijah could hear it clear as day, quickly letting out a small hum of acknowledgment, "Hmm."

I like to think that the Mikealson show their love through actions a lot of the time rather than outright saying it and that can be shown through this story, kind of. I honestly didn't think Elijah would have that big of a part in this fic but he somehow did? Lastly the nickname at the end was something I added in from a suggestion I liked it so I put it in. - Kiyo :)
