And we're going to jump right on into this, last time I did a few chapter prologue, people didn't like it, so we're going right on it.

Luz, now 14 years old, sat in her backyard on the ground with her eyes closed. To her right, was a 23 foot long reticulated python, her pet named Titan, sleeping in the sun. She took deep breaths in and out, concentrating on the flow of nature around her. The wind blowing through the leaves, the sun shining on the grass, the animals foraging/grazing around the trees; Luz could sense them all and feel their energy flowing through her.

'Just focus... just... focus-'

Luz opened her eyes as the sound of car horns blasted.

"You would think that humans could keep it down!" Luz said, "Trying to meditate here!"

Luz went back to meditating. She took a breath and relaxed again, feeling the energy and life of nature around and inside of her mind, body, and soul.

"That's better." Luz said.

'Focus on... wait... that's not normal.'

As she mediated, Luz suddenly connected with a DIFFERENT type of nature energy. One that was...hotter, almost burning like acid compared to the rest of nature around her. Luz didn't know where it came from, it just POPPED up out of nowhere and Luz couldn't explain how. Luz got up and pet her snake.

"Titan, come with me."

Titan curled around her body and rested his head on her shoulder. Luz ran off, looking for what caused that energy. She could still feel the energy as she ran into the forest, following a certain path with the burning feeling growing stronger with each step. She saw a cabin with a glow coming from where the door originally was. She could feel the heat increase around the house as the energy she knew she felt before was coming out in waves!

"Titan... we're going in."

"Ssssss." The Snake hissed as he nodded at Luz, ready for anything when they went into the door.

Luz approached the glowing doorway with caution, preparing herself for anything and everything that might be on the other side. Luz let out a small breath and ran through the door. She ended up in a tent on the other side, filled with stuff from the Human Realm... she thinks. Some of this stuff Luz doesn't even know where to get it. Titan hissed a bit and Luz scratched his chin.

"I don't know, Titan." Luz said, "This place is definitely not Earth. It feels... off."

Luz heard a hoot and turned back to the portal, seeing a small owl fly through with a bag and fly passed her. Titan and Luz looked at each other.

"No, you can not eat the owl." Luz said, "It's probably someone's pet with how trained it is."

"Finally!" A voice said, "You're back."

Luz moved to the tent opening, seeing a woman with a red dress, gray hair, and wearing a bandana. Luz couldn't see her face yet, as the womans back was facing her. The owl got on a stick and the lady screwed it on, turning it into wood. The woman began to rummage through the bag.

"Okay, let's see."

She pulled out a phone.

"Garbage."

She pulled out a ring.

"Garbage."

She pulled out the actual Holy Grail!

"Garbage."

Luz had half a mind to walk out there and smack the woman for throwing away expensive and a literal Priceless object, but she also knew that this was a strange world, and until she knew what was going on, she was going to be careful about this.

'Okay, I'm going to calmly talk to this woman.' Luz thought, slowly leaving the tent.

"Excuse me?"

The woman jumped a bit and turned around, showing two golden eyes and a small gold fang sticking out from her mouth.

"What the- how did you get into my tent?" The woman said, before noticing her ears, "You're human?"

"Uh... not exact-"

"Oh, this is a good day!" The woman said, shaking Luz's hand, "Nice to meet ya kid, the names Eda. Eda Clawthorne, the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles!"

"Nice to meet you." Luz said, "I'm Luz. Luz Noceda, and this is my pet Python, Titan."

The snake looked at Eda and hissed. Luz ran a hand over Titan's head.

"No, that is not an appropriate question." Luz said, "Sorry, he's a bit hungry. I'll just head home and feed him."

Luz headed back into the tent, right to the portal, only for it closed right as she got there.

"I don't think so." Eda said, holding a key, "I've been looking for someone like you."

"S-s-someone like me?" Luz asked.

'Wait, does she know about my... abilities?' Luz thought.

"Yep, I need you." Eda said, "After that, I'll let you go home."

"Uh, this sounds like Extortion." Luz says as Titan hissed again, "No, you can't eat her yet. Jeez, what is with you today?"

Eda looked confused.

"Why do you keep talking to the snake? It's not like it can talk." Eda said.

Before Luz could respond, Eda heard a voice.

"Eda the Owl Lady, come out with your hands up!" A guard said.

"Uh, what's going on?" Luz asked.

"Well, I'm kind of wanted by the government." Eda said.

"Uh, that would be an important thing to mention!" Luz said, "You're a criminal!"

"Yeah, I'm a criminal in a world run by a dictator, even I know that the Human Realm sees those types of criminals as heroes. Besides, it's only because I didn't join in their cult, I've never killed someone or anything... you know... without them deserving it."

Luz was about to respond when Eda used her staff and collected all of her stuff. She made a spell circle and blasted the guard, sending him flying into the other stall across from Eda. Eda grabbed the portal and her stuff and then pulled Luz along with her.

"Follow me, Human!" Eda said.

Luz ran along side Eda.

"Uh, are you going to tell me what's going on?" Luz asked.

"Oh, nothing bad, just running from the cops." Eda said, "Now hold on!"

Eda jumped and pulled Luz with her. She got on her staff and the two flew away. Luz was surprised by this and held Titan, as if the snake would stop her from falling off.

"You can calm down, Human." Eda said.

Luz calmed down and looked around, seeing the crazy place she is in.

"Woah, what is this place?" Luz asked.

"This is the Boiling Isles." Eda said, "Every myth you humans have comes from our world leaking into your world. Vampires, Werewolves, giraffes."

Luz's eyes widened.

"That explains a lot." Luz said, as if she understands every mystery to ever exist.

After flying for a little bit, they arrive at a house in the woods and Eda landed the staff.

"Alright, we're here." Eda said, getting off.

"Uh... Eda?"

Eda looked at Luz and saw her holding Eda's severed hand. Eda grabbed it and screwed it back on.

"Thanks, that happens every now and then." Eda said, "Now, come along, I have stuff to do, prisons to break into."

"Uh... what?"

Eda didn't respond as she walked over to the door.

"Alright, Hooty, open up." Eda said to the owl... thing... on the door.

"Password, please." Hooty said.

Eda was about to poke him in the eyes, when Luz walked over and began to pet Hooty.

"Hi, how about you open the door for us, please?" Luz asked, as Hooty began to nuzzle against her touch.

The door opened and Eda looked at Luz.

"Woah, how'd you do that?"

"Magic." Luz said.

Eda let out a snort.

"Fine, keep your secrets." Eda said, walking inside, "Welcome to... the Owl House."

Eda snapped her fingers, and the ceiling began to glow, brooms started to sweep, and some objects began floating.

"Woah, this place is cool, not as cool as my grandfather's house, but still pretty cool." Luz said, "You live here all alone?"

The ground started to shake and Luz looked scared.

"Okay, Titan, if I say the word, you attack." Luz said.

The shadow of a large beast, with sharp claws and strong looking horns. His deep voice rang through the halls.

"Who dares intrude upon I?" A small demon in a towel came around the corner, and his voice was no longer deep, "The King of Demons!"

"Well, ignoring how he somehow made his shadow and voice sound and look like that... Aye Qué lindo!" Luz ran over and hugged him, "Eda, he's so cute!... No, Titan you CANNOT eat him! I will feed you in a minute!"

"Okay, put the tiny fuzzball down." Eda said, pulling Luz off the demon, "That's King, and like I said, I need some help."

"Help with what?" Luz asked.

"Well, King didn't always look like this." Eda said, "He used to be a mighty kind of demons, but that was before his might crown of power was stolen by the evil Warden Wrath, turning him into... well that tiny six pound dog thing."

"And he's so adorable!" Luz said, hugging King again, "Wait, so, why do you need my help?"

"Well, the crown is trapped by a barrier that can only a human can pass through." Eda said.

"But, I'm not a hu-"

"Anyway, if you help with this, you'll be allowed to head home." Eda said, "Come on, it'll be fun! And who can say no to this little face?"

Eda held King up by his face. Luz knew this wouldn't end well, especially since they wouldn't let her explain that she ISN'T human. She had no choice but to agree, as it may be the only way to show them that she isn't a human.

"Okay, let's do this then." Luz said.

"That's the spirit!" Eda said, picking Luz up and carrying her outside for some reason.

"Titan, stay here and don't eat anything." Luz said, "Uh, where are we going anyway?"

"Somewhere super fun!" Eda said.

After a short fly, they landed at the "Super Fun" place... prison.

"Oh, yeah, fun." Luz said, "So, what do you want me to do?"

"You and King are going to go up through that window, while I distract the Warden." Eda said, tapping the butt of her staff on the ground.

A small golden platform formed beneath Luz and King and they began floating towards the window. Eda just threw her staff and it flew under her and she flew away.

"See you at the top!" Eda said.

King jumped through the window, while the platform disappeared, causing Luz to have to grab the windowsill. Luz climbed through window, clearly getting annoyed at this.

"Okay, we're in." Luz said, "Let's go look for the thing."

The two walked around for a little bit before they heard someone.

"Hey, lady, how'd you get out of your cell?" Said a woman inside a cell.

The woman was a humanoid witch with pointy ears, dark skin, and black hair styled in a ponytail with a few tuffs sticking out the front. She has upturned hazel eyes with three eyelashes on each eye as well as distinguished fangs. She wore an indigo-colored dress which revealed her shoulders and covered all of her upper arms and about half her forearms. She had a gold band around her neck and sported black, calf-length high-heeled boots.

'Is she a vampire?' Luz thought.

"Oh, I'm not a criminal." Luz said.

"Not yet you're not." King said.

Luz grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and put him on the ground.

"Me either." The woman said, "I'm only here because I write fanfiction about food falling in love. I like food, I like love, just let me write about it!"

Another prisoner spoke up. This one was a light grayish-blue monster with at least six eye holes, which will either have all his eyes or a few missing. Said eyes have sea green irises. He wears gray capris with shredded ends and walks barefoot. He also has an ankle lock on his left foot.

"I'm in here because I like to eat my own eyes." He said.

He pulled one of his eyes out and ate it, and it grew back a second later. A third prisoner spoke up, and this one... Luz didn't know how to respond to this one.

"We are agents of fwee expwession! They will never siwence us!" She said.

This prisoner was a small round white demon with large blueish eyes within yellowish sclera, a rather prominent nose, and reddish hair. She also has two off white buck teeth. She's practically just a head with no body, with her limbs coming out of it.

"Yeah, she's really into conspiracy theories." The Fanfic prisoner said.

"The world is a simulation! We are but playthings for a higher being!"

Luz, despite being a little concerned by that, realized something.

"Wait, those aren't crimes, this is a gross abuse of power." Luz said, getting angry, "You should never use any type of power to hurt others simply for being themselves!"

Luz clenched her fists and let out a few calming breaths, but King backed up because it sounded more like... growls... animalistic growls. Luz's eyes also changed, becoming more predatory and animalistic. Luz closed her eyes and calmed down. She was calm again and her eyes returned to normal. She walked over to the lever and pulled it up, surprising everyone as she literally ripped the lever off when it got to the top. It was solid steel, no one thought a human could snap it in half. The three cages open and the prisoners exited the cells.

"Thanks, Kid, I hope we meet again." The fanfic prisoner said, before she and the other two ran away.

King looked at Luz.

"Uh... are you okay?"

Luz, still holding the broken lever, looked at King.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Luz said, dropping the lever, "Let's go."

Luz and King walked down a corridor and Eda reunited with them.

"Hey, the Warden seems to be out of the place right now, so let's get that crown and get out of here." Eda said.

Luz grabbed Eda's arm and stopped her from moving forward.

"Eda... what the hell is wrong with this place?" Luz asked, "Why are people being arrested for being different?"

Eda saw Luz's eyes, the emotions ranging from anger, fear, sadness, rage. Eda let out a sigh.

"I don't know kid, I truly don't." Eda said, "This world... it's not a very nice one, being yourself is pretty much a death sentence. It sucks, I know but it's just how-"

"Don't tell me it's how the world is!" Luz said, "I don't need to be in a world that's exactly like my actual home! A place that I can't be myself, a place where I have to hide in plain sight, a place... a place that my mother made! I'm sick of it!"

Eda looked at the kid with pity, it sounded like she's had this in for a while. Eda put an arm over Luz's shoulder.

"Come on, let's get that crown and get out of here." Eda said.

They opened the doors that led to the barrier, except... there was no barrier.

"Wait, what the?" Eda said, "It was here last time we tried this."

The lights came on and they were surrounded.

"Looking for something?" Warden Wrath said, with guards around him.

Luz noticed that Wrath was a humanoid demon with purple skin and a large, muscular build. He wears a hood that is different than the guards around him and a beaked mask with yellow button-like lenses, resembling masks worn by plague doctors. He wears a white sleeveless tunic with brass buttons, a brown leather belt with a brass buckle, and black trousers tucked into dark purple shoes. On the uniform, one can also see a triangular brass badge, which Luz guessed emphasizes his position. Luz looked at his hand, seeing a cardboard crown from a fast food restaurant.

"Seriously?" Luz asked, looking at Eda.

"I'll explain later." Eda said, "What do you want, Wrath?"

"You've alluded me for a long time, but I knew if I took your pets little toy, you'd come." Wrath said, crushing the crown.

King let out a surprised, and upset, gasp.

"No! My power!"

"It's time to finally bring you in." Wrath said, "Dead or alive... I'll let you decide which one it will be."

"If you think I'll just give up then your brain is smaller than your eyes." Eda said, holding her staff at him.

"Death then." Wrath chuckled, "Fine by me."

Warden Wrath's arm changed to an axe blade and swung down at Eda. Eda was ready for the strike... until she was pushed out of the way. Eda was knocked to the ground and the sound of liquid falling on the ground and looked at Luz, seeing a large pool of blood beneath her and blood rushing down her body. Eda felt her throat go dry.

'I... I just led to child getting killed.' Eda thought, 'Oh, Titan, what have I done?'

Wrath dropped Luz and she landed on the ground with a thud. Wrath turned back to Eda as the guards began to close in on them. Eda held King close as the warden walked up to her.

"Well, Eda the Owl Lady, it looks like this is the-"

Wrath was cut off as the ground began shaking. The guards looked a bit scared at this and wondered what was causing this. Suddenly, giant roots began to shoot through the floor, scaring everyone. This was the top story of the building, so there was no reason for there to be roots coming up from the floor. The roots covered Wrath, preventing him from moving.

"What!? What are you doing Owl Lady!?" Wrath said.

"She's not doing it."

The looked over and saw Luz pick herself up. The large wound stopped bleeding and began to heal itself. The other guards went to surround her, but the young Goddess snapped her fingers, resulting in more roots coming from the ground and tangling them up. Luz walked up to the warden.

"You arrest people for being themselves, hurt people because you find it fun, you are a pathetic excuse for a warden!" Luz said, "I may not be able to kill you without consulting my Uncle first, but I still teach you a lesson."

Luz moved her hands and the roots lifted Wrath up, and then she made him slam against the floor. She repeated this process a couple more times, before slamming him THROUGH the floor. Luz didn't stop as she jumped down and landed on the ground in another form. Wrath barely had time to think when he saw the large, feathered creature run at him. His arms changed and he threw his axe hand at Luz, but she easily dodged it. Luz ran at him with a screech. If there was one thing she loved the most about her powers, was being able to become animals... alive or dead. She especially loved becoming a Utahraptor. The speed, the power, the fact that she is the largest of the dromaeosaurs. Standing at six feet tall, 23 feet long, nearly 900 pounds, she's a vicious predator. Luz ran and jumped on Wrath, sinking her claws into his shoulders and ready to dig her sickle claw into him and finish this fight. Wrath grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground. Luz tried to get up, but Wrath slammed his foot onto her head.

"I don't know what you are, but your head with make a nice trophy." Wrath said, raising his axe hand.

Luz began to change her form again, this time she became big. Wrath was knocked to the ground and his leg was grabbed by Luz's trunk. The elephant threw him across the room and then charged at him. She slammed her trunk into him and made sure he couldn't get away. She rose on hind legs and slammed down her front legs onto Wrath. All the air was taken out of his lungs and his ribs were very broken. Luz turned back and a large flower rose from the ground and lifted her up to Eda and King, both of whom were shocked.

"Well, we good to go?" Luz asked.

"What the hell was that!?" Eda yelled.

"I've been trying to tell you, I'm not human." Luz said, "I'm the daughter of the Goddess of Nature. Therefore, I am a God."

"A-a-a God!?" Eda said.

"Yeah, do you have a god in this world?" Luz asked.

"Well... kind of." Eda said, "But that's a bit of a hard to explain."

They heard guards rushing up the stairs.

"Which I will tell you later, let's go!" Eda said.

Eda summoned her staff and the trio flew away from the prison, before anyone knew they were there. They landed at the Owl House and got back inside.

"Well, that was something." Eda said, before noticing that Luz was doing something, "What are you doing, Kid?"

Luz had a small green glow coming from her hands.

"I'm working on something." Luz said, as vines, flowers, and branched came out of her hands and wrapped around themselves, "Perfect!"

She walked over to King, holding a wooden crown, with vines holding the sticks together, and flowers to make it look nice.

"So, I don't really understand the whole... cardboard crown... thing... but I figured this could work." Luz said, placing the crown on his head.

"Hm... this shall suffice." King said, "Plant, I am your ruler, and you will obey me!"

King walked off and Eda punched Luz's shoulder.

"Nice." Eda said, "That'll shut him up for a bit. Guess it's time to send you home, huh?"

Luz thought about it and decided to do something crazy.

"Actually, my mom created just about every living thing on earth, but here... I can make my own legacy." Luz said.

"Uh, are you saying-"

"I want to stay here, I want to connect with the nature of this world." Luz said, "Maybe I'll even make some friends and go on adventures."

"A little hopeful, aren't ya?" Eda asked, despite having a smirk.

"I was a bit of a weirdo in the human realm, being the offspring of a Goddess and having to hide it, kind of means I'm a bit weird because I know things that humans don't." Luz said, "Here, I can be a bit... normal."

"Normal?" Eda asked with a chuckle, "Why be normal? Us weirdo's have to stick together, Kid."

Eda walked over to the couch and put her feet up on the coffee table.

"So, if you're going to stay here, you're going to help me with my businesses." Eda said, "But we can talk about that tomorrow. You should go pick a closet and tell your mom where you are."

"Hm, I don't really need to." Luz said, "I sometimes go on these things called retreats where I can spend months at a time in the woods without contacting anyone, as long as she can still sense me, which should work with the portal open, I'll be fine."

"Alright, go rest up." Eda said, "I'm sure you'll be causing destruction soon."

"I hope not, that's my uncles job." Luz said, "Night, Eda."

"Night Kid, looking forward to seeing what you can do tomorrow." Eda said.

Luz walked upstairs and opened a room, it had stuff in boxes and Luz looked around. She looked through the boxes and pulled out a large dog bed, looking like it was something a Great Dane would look small in.

"It will do for now." Luz said.

She put it down on the ground and looked at it. She heard the door open and saw King, holding a small rabbit plushie.

"I... just wanted to see how you were settling in?" King said, not very convincingly.

Luz smirked and shifted into a German Shepperd. She picked King up by the scruff of his neck and brought him over to the bed. The second she put him down, he walked in a circle and curled up. If Luz could laugh, she would, but dogs can't laugh, so she just copied his movement and laid down, closing her eyes.

'I think I'm going to like it here.'

I am going to be honest... I'm completely winging this. There is no plan for this story. Also, not every chapter will be this long, but they will always be between 800-1000+ words. Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
