Luz looked over this map, confused about what it meant to be.
"Uh, you guys are from here, do you know what I'm doing wrong? Because I don't have the faintest clue what I'm doing." Luz said.
Willow took the map and held it up to the sun, revealing a secret route to the 'Celestial Staff', whatever that was.
"According to this, we need to follow the path that leads west of Bonesborough, we should get there quickly." Willow said
"Any particular reason?" Luz asked Willow, letting her lead.
"That part of the woods gets really busy around sundown. Never know why but it's better to not find out." Willow said.
They begin to head to the outskirts of Bonesborough, the place they begin the adventure and hopefully take down Adegast.
Along the way, Luz learned more about Gus and Willow along the way as they talked. Gus was a prodigy illusionist that had a dream of being a master illusionist and human expert, while Willow actually desired to be inside the plant track at school and become the strongest plant witch around.
"If that's true, why are you in the abomination track?" Luz asked her. "You should be free to peruse your own dream without worry."
"I know but my dads say that there are more opportunities in the abomination track, so I'm doing my best to try and not disappoint then." Willow said.
Luz rubbed her arm.
"I know how that feels." Luz mumbled.
They arrived to the outside of Bonesborough and Luz looked back at the town.
"Listen, this is going to be dangerous, I would understand if you two wanted to back out now." Luz said.
"And let the human girl do this on her own?" Willow asked, "Not a chance."
"Yeah, we're in this together!" Gus said, "If he thinks he can trick our new friend, he has another thing coming!"
Luz smiled at their loyalty, finding it very comforting as they time he'd along the map's path until they reached a remote village.
"This is the place?" Luz asked as Willow looked over the map.
"This is the place." Willow said as they approached the fountain before the citizens of the village came out to greet them.
"They're like... cat people... this is weird." Luz said.
"Really? This seems pretty normal to me." Gus said, looking at the cat citizens.
"Yeah, this is pretty normal for the demon realm." Willow said as they mayor of the town came forward.
"Well, not for the human realm... Willow, are we going the right way? I want to get out of this place."
"We are but what's the rush, Luz? They seem friendly." Gus said with a smile, actually getting a wink from one of the cat girls.
"We need to focus. For all we know, this is a trap." Luz said before sensing the nature around the town...only to find it DEAD.
All of it was DEAD!
"Gus, it is a trap, we know this, there's no way Adegast would send us through here if it wasn't a trap." Luz said.
"Wait, Luz, what if we use this?" Willow said quietly.
"What do you mean?"
"We don't know if he's listening, so if we go along with this ploy of his, we can get him close to us and take him out." Willow whispered.
Luz didn't like this idea but it did sound like a good plan. Playing along with the fake adventure could help with finding Adegast and stopping whatever his plan was for them or Eda.
"Okay, fine. We'll play along, but the moment things get hairy, we fight back." Luz whispered to her.
"Understood." Willow said, "Now, if we-"
Someone rose from the fountain.
"Travelers!" the being said, "I am Neverath. I am here to help you on your quest."
The trio looked in shock of Neverath, finding him to be about their age or a year older with his hair slicked back, an eye patch, and wearing the clothes of an adventurer with a sword on his hip.
'It may be a trap but he looks GOOD!' Willow and Luz thought.
The group began to head further on the path. Neverath acted sort of a guide and "protection" while showing off more and more of his "features". Luz just rolled her eyes. After a few more miles, and a couple other "People" they arrived at the place the staff is at. Luz pulled Willow and Gus to the side for a bit.
"Okay, listen, I'll go get the 'staff' and you guys wait here." Luz whispered, "When you hear a bird call, you guys will jump out and surprise attack him."
They nod and Luz went around the corner, unaware of the tentacles that were making their way to Willow and Gus. Luz moved the plants out of the way and saw a staff in the middle of a lake. She stepped out and began to walk towards the staff.
"So, this is the celestial staff, huh?" Luz asked, "I grab this... and I become like my aunts, uncles, and mom."
She grabbed the staff and pulled it out of the ground, with the water rippling and bright light shining from it.
'Okay, Luz, play it up.' Luz thought
"I really am the chosen one!" Luz said, "This is the best day ever!"
The staff suddenly disappeared, and the landscape changed to an empty lake and cracked and damaged. She looked around and got ready for what was coming next. The wizard appeared in front of her, but he was... different.
"Well, chosen one... you are smarter than I gave you credit for." He said, "But you think I didn't know you were trying to trick me?"
"Oh yeah, and how did you know that?" Luz asked, ready to feed him to Titan.
Adegast chuckled.
"Because I've been around you the entire time." He said, moving the wizard out of the way, revealing his real form.
Luz looked at the giant pink octopus type demon, with small arms.
"Ugh, that's what you look like?" Luz asked, "No wonder you hide behind a wall of lies."
"I wouldn't be so judgmental." He said, "After all, I knew you were trying to trick me, which means... I have something you don't now."
He raised two tentacles, revealing Willow and Gus, trying to escape.
"Luz, he out played us!" Gus said.
"Get out of here!" Willow said.
"Willow, Gus!" Luz said, getting angry, "Let them go!"
"How about... no."
Adegast wrapped a tentacle around Luz, which caused Luz to quickly unwrap Titan and put him down, so he doesn't get hurt. Adegast held her up to his eye level.
"I was hoping that you would lure the Owl Lady to me so I could destroy her for taking business from me, but I think that instead it would be better if I destroyed you!"
He raised the tentacle and slammed Luz against the ground. If Luz was mortal, it would've probably killed her, thankfully she's immortal so she'd be fine. Adegast didn't stop as he slammed her onto the ground harder, and then repeated the process several more times, each slam harder than the last. He threw Luz back into the woods and turned his attention back to Willow and Gus.
"I think you two will make wonderful new puppets." Adegast said.
"No, let go of us!" Gus said, trying to get out of this.
Adegast was thrilled with the idea, until a puddle began to ripple. He looked down as the water calmed... only to ripple again. He heard trees being knocked over and turned around, just in time to see a large head pop out from the tree line. The large creature walked out of the tree line and stood tall above Adegast. There was a deep growl coming from it as it stared him down. The creature had a long body, strong tail, powerful legs, short arms, and when it opened its mouth, you could see a lot of sharp teeth.
"W-w-what is that thing!?" Gus yelled.
Adegast sent one of his tentacles at it, only for it to open its mouth and bite down on it.
"AAAAH!" Adegast screamed as the beast proceeded to rip the tentacle off and swallow it.
Luz returned to normal and looked at Adegast.
"What you just saw was a creature called the Giganotosaurus, one of the biggest carnivores to ever set foot on the Human Realm." Luz said, "Now let my friends go, or else I'll show you what else this God is capable of."
"G-G-God?" Willow and Gus said.
"Y-y-you're not a God! The Titan is the god of this world!" Adegast said.
"And who said I was from this world?" Luz asked, "Each dimension has its own set of Gods, and the realm I'm from, I'm the daughter of the Goddess of Nature. Now let them go or else."
Adegast was a bit nervous, but it also left him distracted, which let Willow and Gus nod to each other. Willow made a spell circle and a large vine came from the ground and hit Adegast right in the eye. The result was him dropping Willow and Gus. This allowed Luz to stop holding back. She ran at Adegast and transformed again, this time, she went with the good old Pleistocene, after all... who doesn't want a 2-ton walking tank with an almost four-and-a-half-foot long horn like the Woolly Rhino? Luz ran and slammed her horn into Adegast. It didn't kill him, but it did make him bleed. Adegast was knocked back, where Willow held him to the ground with vines.
"Gus, let's see what you can do!" Luz said.
"Gladly." Gus said.
He spun his fingers and a light blue circle began to form. He put his hands out and made illusions.
"Boom, more of... what did you say that creature was?" Gus asked.
"Giganotosaurus." Luz said.
'These two are strong, and I don't think they're using their full strength yet.' Luz thought.
Adesgast destroyed the vines and got up, before moving back at the sight of the two illusions.
"I think it's time we take him down... permanently." Luz said.
Luz held her arms out and plants held his tentacles down.
"Gus, use the illusions and distract him." Luz said, "Willow you take control of the plants, I'll go for the finishing blow!"
Gus sent the illusions at Adegast, making him cover his eyes in fear, before they disappeared. This gave Willow the chance to take over and hold him down with vines. Luz ran and shifted into her favorite, the Utahraptor, and ran at him. She ran at him and jumped, sticking her sickle claws into his head. Adegast yowled in pain and began shrinking until he only went up to their knees. Luz, Willow, and Gus walked over and looked at him. Luz tiled her head and sniffed him, wondering if this was some kind of trick. She shifted back to her human form and looked at her new friends.
"Uh, I'll be honest, I was aiming for the eyes, I overshot, I didn't expect this." Luz said.
"So, what do we do with him?" Willow asked.
Before anyone could respond, Titan had the solution and bit down on Adegast and wrapped around him, squeezing the life out of him. The three watched as he swallowed Adegast and Luz pet his head.
"Good snake." Luz said, "And technically, it was two animals, so I didn't need Uncle Azrael's permission."
"Um, can we talk about what we saw?" Gus asked.
"I mean, I already said what I am." Luz said, "I'm the daughter of Mother Nature. I can become animals, talk to animals, control plants. In fact, if you want, I can bring you somewhere that I can show the full extent of my powers without damaging anything."
"I... would like to see that." Willow said.
"Oh, I was so excited to have a human friend." Gus said.
"Well, if it makes you feel better... my mom indirectly created humans." Luz said, "I could tell you things about humans that even most humans don't know."
Gus' eyes went wide.
"Tell me your secrets." He said.
"Then follow me!" Luz said, "I also have some questions about this world, like what the... Titan is. I've heard that a lot about it, but I have no idea what it is."
Luz let Titan curl around her again and they walked off, as Willow and Gus explained what the Titan was.
"The Titan is the reason for all life existing on the Isles." Willow said, "We live on the Titan's corpse, and we evolved to use the magic he gave us."
"So, the Titan is essentially the God of this world?" Luz asked, "Interesting."
Luz looked around and pulled a flower from the ground.
"So everything from this flower, to the witches that live here, everything came from the Titan?"
"Yes, exactly." Gus said.
Luz looked at the flower and smiled.
'Huh, purple petals, yellow pistil, kind of reminds me of the Blue-Eyed Grass... just... without this little symbol in the middle.' Luz thought, before placing the flower over her ear.
