Moving through the foliage, is a lone woman. Her name is Iriviel (Iris), with her long wavy black hair reaching the lower back and eyes the color of the deep sea. She was carrying a basket full of herbs and vegetables after a harvest.
This wouldn't have been hard to finish the task, but, Dammit, Rose, this work should have been done ages ago.
She was struggling to carry it as it she was the only one currently working on the farm. But alas said person was nowhere. Even with the use with either of her senses, not a trace can be seen.
With those tasks, it truly would be hard for one person to finish all the work. Honestly, she should have known better. Either she's playing with the around or slacking off.
But with the work still needed to be done, she continued on.
~ A Few hours later ~
Finally, after hours of hard work, she managed to finished it all before dinner.
"Iris!" Running towards her with a wide grin is her sister Rosetta (Rose) with long red hair tied into high twin tails and vivid green eyes full of life.
"Where were you? You know we still have work to do, and you left me alone!" Peeved, she hadn't noticed that Rose was carrying a box full of fish she caught.
"Oh, come on! You know I was bored plus, I brought something back from my trip." Raising said box afterwards.
Though, I think one of them would end up as dinner as it seems to be so close to passing away.
"A fish? You do realize we have no place to put them in right?"
Incredulous, she stared at her then at the fishes. Then again she should have expected this to happen since Rose have always been fond of raising those ornamental guppies.
She is truly not looking forward to denying her wishes today for a few good reason.
Okay, so maybe~ the entire family was the sole reason since raising Koi fishes has also been a long time family business. Well-used to be as ever since the decline in demand the business had been forced to close down becoming more of a cherished family pet and all.
"I know, I know, but this time I have the perfect place!" Grinning mischievously, Rose started walking towards the shed without looking back.
"I know you think I'm being foolish but-! I ordered the Tanks yesterday, and it should be delivered tomorrow noon at the earliest." She replied.
Full of excitement, she ignored her elder sister's exasperation as she was busy contemplating on whether she should just dig a pond for this or not.
I think this should do the trick! Going back to the old traditional family business really is a nice option. Thinking so, Rose began to skip - well skipping while holding the container - to the shed that holds all the vats they have.
"So where exactly are you going to place them?" Skeptical about her actions, Iris placed all the produce on the ground, stretching all her sore muscles as best as she could.
"You do realize we are raising the twins, right?" Pointing that out was truly a last ditch and weak effort in dissuading her.
Technically, they are still in the process of getting out of poverty.
"Don't you mean you are raising them and me being the helpful adorable sister? Yes." She chirped.
Rose wasn't actually concerned about this since arriving just now, the twins are actually asleep in placed in their cot right at their porch. Having a dog was also a bonus for her in this mundane farm life since it can help them keep watch and entertain her.
"You clearly know that we are still recovering from the last splurge. If it flops those fishes will end up as dinner. We still have expenses to pay in the next few days." Worried, she spoke her concerns.
"But weren't they all worthwhile? We managed to upgrade the farm and even buy a few things with enough money to spare." Well maybe emptying their bank accounts - she thought - but oh well at least everything is starting to look up.
"Rose-"
After hearing that particular tone, Rose really started to wonder if the one behind was actually her mother and not her sister. Then again she might have just inherited that from her instead. If not maybe her maternal instincts had awakened?
Not knowing whether it's a good thing or not, she was startled from her thoughts when Iris started speaking or to be precise, rambling about.
"I know we are fine financially but, it's just that everything seems to be moving faster with expenses coming about. From our first move to the valley, meeting the town neighbors, and even learning ropes of other works everything seems daunting."
Iris relayed as she once more took up the basket to the shed for safekeeping.
"Relax, we wouldn't have been this successful if you hadn't taken up gardening and all that", she stated.
"Besides, with my brilliant mind and talent, fishing is getting more and more doable for us with the lake er-pond, just being inside our property."
Appeasing her, she did her best to comfort her as everything was coming along nicely too nicely even for them.
"Ro-!"
Waaaah! (Wailing)
"?!"
Iris instantly darted to the porch where the wailing came from without a word.
As Rose stared at her departing figure, she proceeded to place everything in its place. She perservered on doing all the remaining chores seeing as help won't be arriving anytime soon.
As she toiled through all that, she saw butterflies freely flitting about her sister's flower garden. Pausing, she thought she saw some of them sparkling in the sunset looking so ethereal and free. Looking from afar, it definitely won't be a stretch if some folks would have mistaken them for fairies.
Looking like that, anyone would be tempted to take a wish as fables did mention them granting it to others. Others even mention that they often take on human form it is also worth mentioning sometimes she also once thought her sister was actually a fairy a few times in her childhood. But maybe it was because of the costume they wore for the event but regardless she did do her best granting hers in her childhood.
Recalling them fondly now, she glanced back at the butterflies before wrapping up.
As the produce, tools and even the seeds are placed in their marked chest she secured the shed for the night, and went through everything once, and then twice before bounding her way back to the house.
During all that with the light from the sunset alone, she can tell that everything is slowly starting to shape up, as the day ended. As the early summer breeze blew through the land, it took a few dandelion seeds with it.
She hoped that maybe hopefully it will continue to do so for the rest of upcoming years.
On a certain corner, the statue's eyes briefly glinted reflecting the sun before the beginning of the moon's ascension as it heralds fate moving and pushing the motions at play.
Within a secluded place, a person could be seen pacing around nonstop.
"Who is she?"
Remembering the vision, he still couldn't tell what it means. He kept questioning, referring, and taking advice from the books, the stars and even with the spirits but to no avail. But all he can tell is that change is coming.
He noticed it last year when the month's snow deepened. As the moon cycle arrived at its middle point. Even at the start of spring, everything started to change, moving in mysterious ways.
The forests slowly became more alive as spring arrived, spirits even started to swarm and move about the land in restlessness.
But the only thing he can attribute it to is the Lin family's arrival. The family has two young women but even he can't tell who it was meant to.
Only time can tell what it means.
As the man continued to fuss about, the night slowly deepened without a care for the man and his troubles.
After all, what does nature have to care about it? It could only go on following cycle after cycle, season by season, year by year.
And so the night goes on.
Note:
The Shane in this story is the one from Azuneechan since I liked how it implied the role he has and also the fanart.
As for Rasmodius it will be from RRRR by Jello.
That's all for now.
