Coven Fairy
~Eastern Magnolia Forest~
'Hidden away in Magnolia's East Forest, you'll find a house carved into an ancient tree, where an old friend of Master Makarov Lives. Porlyusica is a highly skilled healer, but she lives a life of seclusion because of her hatred of mankind. Her specialty is in the treatment of ailments that were caused by magic. Which is why the Master has been brought to her.'
Standing in silence in the corner of the tree house were Bisca, Alzack, after they'd arrived there with Makarov, waiting for her to finish treatment on the Master.
During the battle, Makarov had confronted Jose, but was incapacitated, when all his magic had been stolen from him, resulting in Fairy Tail retreating after he'd fallen from the rafters above.
The silence in the medical ward was broken, when Porlyusica suddenly smacked Makarov across the face, as he laid in bed.
"What'd you do that for?" Alzack asked stepping forward, only for Kaen to stick his arm out and stop him.
"Hey, we wanted you to cure our Master, not make him worse." Bisca exclaimed her advancement forward stopped when Porlyusica began to speak.
"It's what he deserves for pushing himself so hard at his age. He fought so hard to get his granddaughter back, but in the end, she wasn't there, and he was defeated. If Edalyn were still here, her magic would be able to restore enough of his to keep him alive." Porlyusica stated. "Honestly you're such an old fool. Don't you think you should be leaving now? I'm sick of looking at you." She said, looking to the two visitors.
Bisca, and Alzack flinched at the harshness of her words. But they couldn't help but feel she was right about what she said, with Makarov acting rashly.
"Before we leave, can you at least tell us what his condition is?" Alzack asked.
"We want to help you take care of him." Bisca exclaimed.
"Just go home." Porlyusica stated. "Those ridiculously worried faces of yours will only aggravate his condition. These symptoms suggest a powerful wind spell was used. My guess the spell known as 'Drain.' This terrible spell drains its victim of all their magic abilities. Their powers then drift along the winds until they have dissipated completely. If only you'd gathered Makarov's powers when they were initially drained, he could have recovered quickly. But as things stand now, it'll take quite a bit longer."
"How long do you think?" Alzack asked.
"I'm sure the others will want to know." Bisca stated.
"Why are you still here?" Porlyusica shouted swinging her broom at them, completely annoyed with the fact they hadn't left yet.
"I'm sorry but I thought you were talking to us all this time, ma'am." Alzack said as both he and Bisca stepped back.
"Of course I wasn't I can't stand the stink of you. Get out of here, already. Go on, move it. Shoo, shoo." Porlyusica shouted swinging her broom around even more.
"Real nice talking to you." Bisca called as they ran out of there.
"Wait for me." Alzack shouted, following close behind.
Once they were gone, Porlyusica went back to Makarov's side with a long face.
'You've always been quite the troublemaker, haven't you? A wizard's magic is intertwined with the very essence of his life. The greater his power the more devastating the drain spell will be.' Porlyusica monologued mentally. 'You're going to have to fight with all you've got, or this may very well be your deathbed. You really are such a pig-headed old fool.'
~Kali~
"Ugh, my head." Kali groaned, trying to sit up, before finding herself chained up, like she was tied with ropes. "The hell?"
"Good, you're awake." Jose said, revealing Kali was chained up, next to his throne. "You're just in time for the show."
"Show?" Kali questioned, before noticing the ground beneath her rumbling. "Oh no." She gasped, when she saw the outskirts of Magnolia through the window of the castle tower. "Your fortress is mobile."
"That it is my dear. An' unless your friends give up Lucy Heartfilia without a fuss, I'll destroy them all." Jose said. "You grandfather thinks he can buy his way to the top with the Heartfilia Family Fortune, then he's more desperate for fame and glory then I first thought."
"You shut up." Kali hissed. "My grandfather, doesn't care about that. Family, is all that matters to him. I can guarantee you, he's had no idea about anything involving Lucy's past, beyond the day she joined our guild."
Jose took a deep breath in as he stood up, before he pivoted on the ball of his foot, and buried the other inside Kali's stomach, causing her to gasp for air, and fall to the ground.
"You know I'm a bit old fashioned, and I strongly believe women should be seen, and not heard." Jose hissed. "I'll be sure to let your father know, about your little escape attempt, when he comes to pick you up, and give us our payment."
~Fairy Tail~
"Man this stinks." One of Fairy Tails members said as they were all treating their wounds.
"I can't believe we had to retreat."
"It's just not fair."
"We should go back. We have to get revenge for what they did to Levy and the others."
"We'll make them pay."
"They still have Kali, we have to get her back from them, no matter what."
Cana was looking over her tarot cards, trying to find a way to see if anything happens, but she wasn't coming up with anything. Her own efforts for finding another powerful mage from their guild had been quite fruitless, so she was hoping Mira had better luck then her.
"C'mon, I'm not getting any read on where Mystogan is." Cana exclaimed angrily.
"Oh dear, you did your best." Mira said, looking to the drinker.
"If Lucy's their real target, then they're bound to attack." Cana said. "An' I would bet it's sooner then later. Right now, we've just got too many wounded, to put up a fight, and we have no clue what kind of shape Kali's in right now."
"Master's seriously injured, and we can seem to find Mystogan. You're the only one left we can turn to. Help us Laxus." Mira said, revealing the blonde haired man with the scar on his face, looking annoyed as to why Mira contacted him. "We could really use you about now, Fairy Tail is in terrible danger."
"Man, Makarov is freaking pathetic." Laxus said with an amused laugh. "I don't see how this is remotely my problem. I warned that geezer, all of you in fact, keeping that parasite around would be nothing but trouble. So Phantom can kill her for all I care. It's what she deserves for murdering my mother. As for Phantom Lord attacking you, you're big girls, so deal with it yourselves."
"So you're not gonna help us?" Cana questioned.
"Of course not, why would I?" Laxus questioned. "That senile old toad started this, over some parasite and a couple of weaklings who aren't even worth the trouble. So why do I gotta clean up his mess?"
"Please Laxus, Kali's your sister." Mira said. "Phantom's already got her, and they're coming after Lucy next."
"Who?" Laxus questioned. "Seriously do I even know her? Oh wait, is it that new girl with the giant knockers? I tell you what, if you can talk blondie into being my woman, I'll do anything she wants."
"You are such a pig!" Cana exclaimed.
"Are you sure you wanna talk that way to a guy you're begging to help ya?" Laxus questioned arrogantly. "Do me a favor, if that old geezer somehow manages to pull through this, tell him he's over the hill and he should hand the guild over to me, while leaving that parasite who killed my mother, to die on the streets."
Laxus laughed with pride and arrogance, before the crystal ball shattered. Cana was shocked, as Mira was the one who shattered it, when she slammed her hand down on it.
"Mira." Cana said in disbelief.
"I don't understand." Mira said as she tried to keep from crying. "How could someone from Fairy Tail be so heartless and cruel, and to their own sister no less. I can't just sit here and watch, I have to join the others and fight."
"Wait, don't be ridiculous." Cana said.
"I feel useless being stuck here at the guild hall, I wanna help." Mira stated. "Kali's like a little sister to me, she was Lisanna's best friend. I can't just sit back and wait for her to be used for who knows what, by Phantom Lord!"
Meanwhile, Natsu's group, minus Erza as she was showering, surrounded a corner of the basement, where Lucy was sitting on a barrel with Natsu on one side of her. Luz was just starting to wake up, and looked around to see she was back in the Fairy Tail basement.
"Luz, you're awake." King gasped. "Thank goodness I was so worried."
"What happened, where am I?" Luz questioned.
"You somehow unlocked your own personal magic." King said. "Lucy says you're a caster type mage, the opposite of her since she's a holder type."
"Wait, I used my own magic?" Luz inquired.
"I guess you've absorbed enough Ethernano from the atmosphere to where you were able to unlock your hidden potential." King said. "C'mon, the others just got Lucy's story from her, she thinks she knows why she's been targeted."
As Luz followed King to where Lucy and the others were, she saw how everyone was planning out their next strategy for attacking Phantom Lord, head on. No one was happy with what had happened, and they weren't gonna let Phantom get away with it.
"Okay so their headquarters is here. So I'm thinking we should try and hit them, with some long range spells from the Southeast hill." Macao exclaimed, now wearing an eyepatch over his injured eye.
"I'm bringing all my explosive Lacrimas next time." Wakaba said, a cigarette in his mouth, as his pipe had been destroyed.
"Hey guys I'm gonna need some spell books for holder type magic from the archives." Macao shouted.
Grey looked to Lucy, seeing how depressed she was and how she must have been feeling at the moment. It angered him to know, that she was feeling down about this whole situation, before his attention was drawn in another direction when Sapphire jumped from Lucy's lap, and flew passed him. Looking back, he saw Luz coming up to them, with Sapphire nuzzling into her, and purring with relief.
"Look who's awake." Grey said.
"We heard you kicked some serious Phantom Lord ass." Natsu smirked. "Nice work protecting Lucy like that."
"Thanks, but to be honest, I don't even know what I did." Luz said. "I remember getting angry, then I saw these weird symbols in the air, and then nothing. I can't remember anything after seeing those symbols."
"We can figure out how you did what you did later." Grey said, before looking back at Lucy. "Don't worry, we'll get them back for this. We're gonna make Phantom Lord pay for what they tried to do."
"I know. I'm not worried about that." Lucy sighed. "It's just… all my fault."
"Why's it all your fault?" Luz asked.
"Apparently, Lucy's the daughter of one of the wealthiest tycoons in Fiore." Grey stated. "I should have seen it with her last name, Heartfilia. As in Heartfilia Railways, the number one chief of transport in the country. Lucy's a runaway, and she thinks her father is up to this, to try and bring her back."
"Being targeted by dangerous people is just one of the downsides of being rich." Elfman exclaimed. "At least you're protected by a real man like me."
"I gotta say, I was shocked when I heard the news. Why'd you hide the truth from us Lucy?" Happy asked.
"I wasn't trying to hide anything. I mean there's no way to bring up the fact that I'm a runaway in casual conversation. I've been gone for over a year now, and my father hasn't cared. Now all of a sudden he wants to force me to come home? He's done all those horrible things just to get me to go back. I hate his guts." Lucy cried, a hint of anger in her voice. "Still if I hadn't run away in the first place, none of this would have ever happened."
"C'mon don't be ridiculous, your dad's the one to blame." Elfman stated.
"Idiot." Grey stated.
"Uh, ha, I mean it is Phantom's fault." Elfman stated trying to correct himself.
"No. I'm the one who brought trouble to the guild, and it's all because of my own selfish choices." Lucy sighed. "I'm so very sorry. I'm just gonna go back home, and hopefully all this will be over with. If it means I'll put an end to this conflict between the two guilds, I'll go home, accept my punishment, and live my life as the Heartfilia Heiress."
"I don't know about that." Natsu said, surprising Lucy. "I can't see you playing the part of the pretty princess sitting around in your mansion. Laughing with us in this filthy guild hall, going on adventures, even though you freak out all the time, that's who you really are. You said you wanted to stay with us right? Why would you ever go back to the place you ran away from? Come on. Who are you trying to kid? You're Lucy of Fairy Tail. No more running 'cause you belong here with us."
Lucy just looked at Natsu, before she felt someone hug her waist, and looked down to see King with his face buried in Lucy's lap, before the demon looked up at her with sad eyes.
"I don't want you to go away Lucy." King said. "I'm just getting to know you, and I really like being part of this Fairy Tail family. It wouldn't be the same without you."
Lucy couldn't hold back her emotions anymore, and began crying, feeling love from her friends surrounding her, even after everything that's happened, she felt like they should hate her, but she felt nothing but compassion and kindness in their words.
"Ah, don't cry. It's just not like you." Grey smiled.
"Yeah, please. Real men are weak to womanly tears." Elfman said, trying to keep himself from crying as well.
"Sorry." Lucy said still sobbing.
Everyone in the guild all smiled, as they could see how Lucy was reacting to their affections. The lively atmosphere of happiness Lucy was creating, suddenly began to change to one of fear as the ground began to rumble.
"What's going on?" Luz asked, sounding scared.
"Everyone, outside now." Erza shouted, as she came running through the basement, with nothing but a towel to keep her modesty.
With Erza leading the others, all of Fairy Tail ran out of what remained of the guild hall, and to the cliffside, overlooking the lake. When they got there, Luz stopped as her eyes widened, witnessing the cause of the rumbling ground, coming into view. There in the water, heading towards the ruins of the Fairy Tail Guildhall, was Phantom Lord's main Guild Hall, walking on eight robotic legs like some sort of giant spider.
"What the hell is that thing?" Cana questioned.
"It's Phantom Lords Main Guildhall." Erza exclaimed, as the mobile Guildhall came to a stop, stabilizing itself.
"How do we fight that thing?" Wakaba asked.
"I never anticipated this. I never thought they'd go to such extremes to attack us." Erza exclaimed shaking in fear of what she was seeing.
'Please put some clothes on.' Luz thought, covering King's eyes from the sight of Erza's naked body wrapped in a towel.
One of the walls on Phantom's guildhall opened up, as a collapsible cannon barrel came out of the building, and extended itself from the hidden chamber.
"Looks like the Phantom War, just came to Magnolia." Mira stated.
~Kali~
"No, run away everyone." Kali called out, seeing all her guild mates through the lacrima crystal ball, as they all stared in horror at the cannon, the castle produced.
The cannon's head was aimed right for the ruins of Fairy Tail, and the city behind it was gonna be collateral damage in this war, as a black ball of energy began to form on the head of the barrel, as it prepared to fire.
"Run, get out of here now." Erza shouted before running for the cliff, reequipping into her Adamantine Armor.
"NO. ERZA!" Kali called out, as she watched the redhead run forward.
As the cannon fired, Erza put the two halves of her Adamantine shield together, creating a magic circle, right before the cannon made impact with the armor weapons.
The Jupiter Cannon's attack, proved to be far stronger then initially thought, as Erza was pushed back several feet from the impact. Kali could see however, that the redhead sorceress didn't give an inch of her will however, and continued to hold the line, protecting Fairy Tail, and Magnolia safe from Phantom Lords attack, until the attack from the Jupiter Cannon ended, showing her armor had been torn to shreds, with Erza breathing heavily, and dropping the cracked and shattered halves of the shield.
"Makarov has fallen, and I am in possession of his granddaughter." Jose said, speaking through a magic device that amplified his voice. "Any chance of victory has slipped through your fingers. Surrender Lucy Heartfilia to Phantom Lord immediately, or face death. You have no choice."
"That's not gonna happen." Alzack shouted.
"Like any guild would hand over one of their own, to a monster like you." Bisca added.
"You hear that? Lucy's staying put." Macao said causing everyone there to cheer and join in the protests, while Lucy still looked discouraged, with King and Luz standing next to her.
"I won't ask again!" Jose exclaimed.
Kali grit her teeth, before she jumped to her feet and body slammed Jose out of the way.
"Everyone, it's me. Sapphire, protect Lucy no matter what, using Formation Alpha. Listen, both my father and Lucy's hired Phantom Lord to kidnap and bring us to them. I'm all right for now, just please keep Luz, King, and Sapphire…"
"That's enough out of you." Jose said, kicking Kali in the face, knocking her down. "You all have fifteen minutes, before my Jupiter Cannon's ready to fire again. Either surrender Lucy Heartfilia to Phantom Lord by then, or you will all die." He stated, before ending the transmission. "That was very foolish girl, very foolish and stupid. I don't care if the pay is lessened, I'm gonna teach you how to respect those superior to you."
~Mira~
"That was Kali." Mira gasped, before she gained a face of determination, and grabbed Lucy's hand. "Come with me Lucy."
"Wait, where are you taking me?" The blonde questioned, with Luz, King, and Sapphire following.
"We have a hideout. I want you to stay there until this is all over." Mira exclaimed dragging Lucy to Reedus.
"No." Lucy exclaimed pulling her hand away. "It's all my fault that we're in this mess, I can't just abandon everyone while they're out there fighting for me."
"It's not your fault Lucy. I don't see it that way, and neither does anyone else. We're not just fighting for you. It's for all of us. It's for the honor of our guild. We're proud to fight this battle, each and every one of us. Even Scythe, and he's not even a full member yet." Mira stated raising her hand a bit. "Please just do as I say." Lucy gasped as Mira cast a sleep spell on her, before she passed out.
"What'd you do?" Luz asked, catching Lucy.
"I used a simple sleeping spell on her." Mira said. "She'll be out for a couple hours. This was the only way I could think to make her do what needs to be done for her own safety."
"Well then we're going too. I protected her once, I'm sure I can do it again." Luz said, Sapphire on her shoulders.
"If you're sure Luz, I'll come with you." King stated.
"Be safe, all of you." Mira smiled softly, before turning to her fellow guild mate. "Reedus, take them to the hideout."
"Oui." Reedus said quickly drawing a cart and boar before bringing it to life with his magic.
"I'm counting on you all to take care of her, and one another." Mira stated.
"You can count on us." Luz agreed, hopping into the cart, while bringing Lucy in with her.
"Oui." Reedus stated before taking Lucy into the cart and driving away to the hideout.
"I may not be strong enough to join the others in battle, but there are other ways I can help my friends." Mira exclaimed transforming her upper half to look like Lucy. "The Jupiter's gonna fire again in fourteen minutes. Don't let us down, Natsu."
~Castle~
Natsu was running down the hall with Happy close beside him. He found himself in the main hall of the castle, before a gust of wind came out of nowhere and sent him and Happy to the ground.
"How sad." A man's voice exclaimed as a small funnel of air came through the hall, only to disperse revealing the green clad man. "I will make your wings of fire wither and fall, and all that will remain is a dragon's corpse."
"Say what?" Natsu questioned, instantly back on his feet his fists clenched.
"Watch out. This guy's one of the Element4." Happy exclaimed.
"My name is Aria." He said raising his head to reveal tears running down his face nonstop. "I am the strongest of the Element4. I've come in hopes of hunting a dragon of a god. But it appears the young boy who I had met with earlier is not with you."
"Let me guess, you're a wind wizard, right?" Natsu questioned. "I've dealt with your kind before."
"Yeah but this guy's a lot stronger than Erigor." Happy stated.
~Luz~
"I'm worried." Luz said, sitting next to Reedus.
"I know. But don't worry, Kali and the others will be alright." Reedus smiled.
"But how can you be sure?" King asked.
"He's right. There's no way to know for certain." Luz stated.
"Luz, let me ask you. How long have you known Kali?"
"Just a couple days."
"Yet you're still so worried about her safety, you're trying to figure out what to do to help her." Reedus smiled. "Are you perhaps, artistic?"
"Oh yeah, I love art. I do all kinds of art, drawing, painting, I even dabble in taxidermy to make statues of mythical creatures." Luz said.
"Well, while that is creative, I'd like for you to give this a whirl." Reedus said, giving Luz a wand.
"A wand?"
"Close. It's actually a magic pencil, formed from the pressed shavings of the Palistrom Wood, Kali carved Sapphire from." Reedus smiled. "In the right hands, I believe it could do wonders."
"Wow." Luz smiled. "An' here my mom is, trying to change me by sending me to reformation camp."
"With all due respect Luz, she's being paranoid about your future. Bu I honestly think your mom was just worried about you. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts, that she was pressured into sending you, based off her own teenaged years, an authority figure higher then her, or possibly both." Reedus smiled. "Creative people like you, tend to be singled out, and bullied a lot by others your own age. So I'm sure she was just wanting to make sure you weren't bait for some jerk with an overblown ego."
"That… does seem like something my mom would do." Luz said. "But I just wish she'd understand, that I'm applying myself in more then one way."
"I'm sure she'll come to understand in time." Reedus said, neither of them aware of the Phantoms, having tracked them down to the hideout. "Now, why don't you give that wand a whirl. You might luck out and it could turn into a magic staff."
~Natsu~
Natsu was standing his ground, his arms and legs covered and battered in bruises, as he was breathing heavily. He had just suffered at the receiving end of Aria's attack, proving that the fourth member of the Element4 was stronger than the other.
"You're still standing after my attack. Very impressive." Aria stated.
"I'm fired up now." Natsu smiled hiding the pain behind his grin. "Let's see what you got."
"Careful." Happy warned.
"Airspace: Zetsu." Aria chanted raising his hand, a purple magic circle emerging from his palm.
Natsu screamed in pain as over half a dozen pockets of air exploded on contact with his body. Regaining himself, he flipped midair and skid to a halt, holding his side in pain.
'He's the strongest sorcerer in the Element4. He might be too powerful even for Natsu.' Happy analyzed, worried for his best friend.
"There's always someone better than you, young Dragonslayer." Aria exclaimed.
"We'll see about that." Natsu shouted punching his fists together. "Fire Dragon: ROAR!"
Before the attack could hit him. Aria turned invisible, almost as if he teleported somewhere.
"He's gone." Happy shouted.
"Where'd he go?" Natsu questioned.
"I shall end this with a gift. I shall allow you to join your master in his suffering." Aria exclaimed, his voice echoing around the chamber.
Aria appeared behind Natsu, the Dragonslayer reacting too late as Aria was already prepared to us his spell.
"Airspace: Drain." Aria shouted.
Two purple magic circles appeared on either side of Natsu, directly beside Aria's hands, and began to drain the magical life force out of him. Natsu screamed in pain as he felt his magical energy forcefully being removed from his body.
But just as suddenly as the Drain spell began, it ended. Natsu looked up, to see Aria being knocked over, by Erza as she slammed a flying jump kick in Aria's face, sending the air magic user to the other side of the room, a look of pure rage in her eyes, as she glared at Aria, landing on the ground.
"Go find Kali." Erza exclaimed.
"Aye Ma'am." Natsu shouted as Happy took him by the underarms, and flew off.
"Well if it isn't Titania Erza of Fairy Tail herself." Aria said with a smile. "How unfortunate, it seems the young knight will lose her head alongside her friend Salamander."
"Might wanna check again Aria. It's just you and me now." Erza glared. "Our master suffered at your hands. I will avenge the pain and suffering you've caused."
"Hmhmhm. Well, now that I'm finally faced with a worthy opponent, I guess it's time I start taking my battles more seriously." Aria smirked, removing his blindfold.
Aria opened his eyes, revealing the pupil's to be dark pink dots, before they grew bigger, each one becoming four bottom curved triangles.
Outside, the entire guild became frightened as the Abyss Break magic circle, began to glow, as the power Aria just unleashed, finished it.
"Now Erza Scarlet, step into Zero: Airspace of Death."
~Kali~
"Aah." Lucy cried out, as she was thrown to the floor.
"Lucy." Kali gasped.
The blonde looked up, and her eyes widened in horror, when she saw Kali kneeling next to Jose's throne, covered in blood, bruises, and scrapes.
"Kali." Lucy whimpered.
"Nice work Gajeel." Jose smiled, standing from his throne. "You managed to bring her back to me, with barely a scratch on her."
"Never underestimate the power of a Dragonslayer." Gajeel said.
"Great work Gajeel. Now that we have Lucy Heartfilia in our grasp, I'm gonna go and take care of our little pest problem, down in the main body of the castle." Jose said. "Keep an eye on Clawthorne. She might try to break free with Heartfilia, and if that happens, we lose our piggy bank."
Kali glared at Jose as he marched through the control room, before the echoing door rang in her ears, and she turned her attention to Gajeel, a look of disdain on her bruised face.
"You're no Dragonslayer." Kali coughed, blood pouring from her mouth.
"Excuse me?" Gajeel questioned, looking to Kali. "Say that again runt."
"You heard me." Kali hissed. "You're no Dragonslayer. My mother, the dragon who taught me my magic, told me we as Dragonslayers, have a duty to uphold the balance of this world, not destroy it."
"To uphold, and protect, through thick and thin. A Dragons power, comes from within." Gajeel recited. "Yeah, Metalicana made me memorize those words, every day until he vanished. But if I recall correctly, and I'm pretty sure I do, the oath ends differently for each element. With iron and steel, no fear shall we feel, as we rend the earth with our mighty strength, beneath our heel."
"With Power and Pride, for peace we stride." Kali began, reciting hers. "Through flickering flame, and sparking light, should the darkness arise, beware my elemental might. For we are few, but we are strong, our power shall be felt through our time gone. As hell hath no fury, like a mothers scorn."
"The Vermilion Dragon oath." Gajeel said, taking a single step back. "I've only heard it once before, by Metalicana's former mate. Her name was…"
"Saphira?" Kali questioned, Gajeel's eyes widening was all the answer she needed. "Guess that makes us siblings, since she was my dragon mother."
Gajeel grit his teeth in annoyance, before he grabbed Kali by the chains binding her, and chomped down on them, setting her free.
"Prove it then." Gajeel growled. "If you're really Saphira's child, then prove to me, that you're not lying."
"How exactly am I supposed to do that?" Kali questioned.
"By showing me, your true power." Gajeel said.
"I see." Kali sighed.
"There's a reason why Vermilion Dragons, were the most feared, and renowned dragons to ever roam the skies, despite being so rare." Gajeel said. "So I know, what'll trigger you."
"Oh really?" Kali asked, getting to her feet.
"I found blondie, in a hideout near the edge of town." Gajeel stated. "With her, was a fat man with a paint brush, a young girl who spoke in a dialect I never heard, and honestly didn't look like much, and a small house cat sized Vermilion Dragon. All three of whom, are laying unconscious, and badly injured on the ground."
Kali's eyes widened, when images of Reedus, Luz, and Sapphire, ran through her vision. Her imagination ran wild, as images of those three, gravely wounded, caused her heart to beat fast, as all other sounds were drowned out by the blood rushing through her veins.
"Kali? KALI." Lucy cried out, seeing how Kali's expression had gone blank, with her eyes shrinking in anger.
Kali grit her teeth, her canines long and sharp as the rest of her teeth took on a pointed razor blade carnivorous edge. Clutching her chest in her hands, over her heart, Kali's body trembled in anger, before her eyes shot open, revealing her sclera had gone black, and her pupils had gone red.
"Aw shit." Gajeel cursed, before Kali tackled him.
Slamming him to the ground, Kali pressed off Gajeel as she flipped through the air, and landed in front of Lucy, one hand on the ground beneath her as she took on a three pointed stance.
"Guess, you really are the real deal." Gajeel smirked as he coughed, forcing himself to his feet. "Now, let's see which one of us, is the Alpha Sibling."
(Cue Music… War: Black Stone Cherry)
Kali and Gajeel lunged at one another, both of them raring to go with their magic flaring up. Kali took the upper hand, by twisting around as she jumped through the air, and hooked Gajeel's neck into the crook of her arm. With the momentum pulling her, Gajeel was dragged back by Kali, before his head was slammed into the ground hard, while Kali landed on her feet.
"Nice one shrimp." Gajeel hacked, as he picked himself up. "But you're not taking me by surprise again."
Gajeel grabbed Kali, pinning her arms to her sides, before throwing her through the air, and slamming her into the ground, creating a hole in the floor.
"Serves you right." Gajeel smirked, picking himself up.
Moving to walk away, Gajeel was stopped when Kali's legs wrapped around him. Looking down, the Iron Dragonslayer looked back to Kali, as she pulled herself out of the ground with her hands, and using her upper body strength, pulled herself into a handstand, while raising Gajeel into the air.
"The fuck?" Gajeel questioned.
Throwing her hips back, Kali threw Gajeel into the wall of the tower, while flipping onto her feet. Looking at him, Kali's eyes were sharper, and filled with pure feral rage.
"Not good." Lucy gasped, recognizing that gaze.
"Oh yeah, now we're getting some…" Gajeel stopped talking, when Kali slammed her knee into his torso, causing the wall to shatter, revealing the outside world, as well as a large shadowy figure, as it completely destroyed what remained of the Fairy Tail Guildhall.
"You idiot." Lucy shouted, as Gajeel was picking himself up from leaning over the edge. "Her curse is acting up. It's taking over."
"That can't be, she took her elixir earlier." Gajeel coughed, before he was grabbed by scale covered claws.
"You pissed her off so bad, her body burned through the elixir." Lucy stated, as Gajeel was thrown to the other side of the room in the tower, destroying Jose's throne.
"Shit." Gajeel cursed, picking himself up. "The hell do I do, I don't have any of her elixir on me. I used the only one that was in her bag."
"Find Natsu." Lucy stated. "Kali's like a sister to him, so he always keeps a spare on his person in case it's needed."
"Just great. I gotta ask Salamander for…" Gajeel stopped, when Kali came charging at him, forcing the Iron Dragonslayer to duck, resulting on Kali breaking through the wall, and building up a cloud of dust. "Uh, what exactly happens if her curse takes over completely?"
Lucy was unable to answer, as a large beastly dragon came charging through the dust of the collision. Kali's beastly form, was large, and covered in red, blue scales, with golden scales in the pattern of lightning bolts across her back, and tracing the length of the bones in her leathery bat like wings. Her face had grown into a muzzle filled with jagged and lethal teeth, while her red pupils, became reptilian, and the sclera becoming obsidian black.
"Nevermind, I see it." Gajeel stated, before the ground began to rumble.
"BLACKSTEEL!" Natsu's voice echoed through the air, as he burst through the ground.
"Natsu." Lucy cried out. "Quick, Kali's curse has taken over. Give her an elixir."
Natsu tsked when he saw Kali, before he reached into his scarf, and pulled out a red vial.
"Kali, if you can hear me in there. I apologize in advance for what I'm about to do." He stated, before he ran at the cursed Kali, with a clear goal in his mind.
(End Song…)
Using his fire to boost his speed and power, Natsu slammed his foot on Kali's from claw, causing her to cry out in pain, before Natsu quickly jumped up, and with the cork removed, tossed the liquid in the vial, into her mouth and down her throat.
"Again, I'm sorry for doing that." Natsu said, landing on the ground, before catching Kali as she was passed out from both the pain of her beating, and the exhaustion from her transformation.
Before anyone could do anything else, a bright flash of light enveloped the castle, as the structure was rumbling from an immense power, before it died down, resulting in both the shadowy figure having vanished, and a calm atmosphere of peace hanging in the air.
"Salamander." Gajeel huffed.
"What, you still raring to fight?" Natsu questioned, before he caught Kali's bag, as it was thrown to him.
"No." Gajeel sighed. "That girl, is the daughter of my dragon parents mate. That makes her my sister. So take care of her, and you'd better make sure she remains safe."
Natsu looked to Gajeel as he left, before he turned to Lucy, and broke through her bindings, freeing her from her kidnappers.
"C'mon, let's go home." Natsu said, carrying Kali in his arms, her head resting against his shoulder.
~Sometime Later~
"Ow, what happened?" Kali questioned, trying to get up before hissing in pain. "Oh please don't tell me my curse took over."
"It did." Erza's voice reached her ears. Kali looked up to the left, to see Erza with a bandage on her cheek, and wraps on her forearms, while Sapphire sat on the girls shoulders. "Lucy told us that it took over, after Gajeel told you what he'd done to use. I find it very endearing how you'd gotten so angry on their behalf."
"Luz is part of the guild, she's family. Not to mention, she's Eda's student." Kali stated, sitting up with a huff, as Sapphire curled up in her arms. "How is she?"
"She's fine. A few minor scrapes, and bruises. Nothing too concerning." Erza smiled.
"Reedus?"
"He won't be painting for a while, but he'll live." Erza said. "The only reason why they're not in worse shape right now, is because of Loki. He had a feeling something bad was gonna happen, and distracted Phantom Lord to where they forgot about their first three victims."
"That's a relief." Kali said, getting to her feet.
"Where do you think you're going?" Erza asked.
"I'm gonna find Luz, and take her back to the Isles." Kali said. "She got caught up in this war, because of me. I'm responsible for her injuries."
"You can't blame yourself, for something you couldn't have known would happen." Erza stated.
"But it did happen, and I wasn't able to keep her safe!" Kali exclaimed. "Sapphire, go find Luz and King. We're leaving for the Boiling Isles."
Sapphire chirped in understanding, before she went to follow her orders.
"At least stay to say goodbye to the others first." Erza said.
"Tell them for me?" Kali asked.
"But why?"
"I'm not wanting to look any of them in the eye, since this war was started over me, since Ivan hired Phantom to retrieve me."
Erza could see the pain in Kali's eyes. Talking to her about it wasn't gonna work, so all she could really do, was give her the space she needed, until she was ready to start talking.
"Alright, I won't stop you." Erza said.
"Hey, Kali you're awake." Luz smiled, coming up to Kali with King in her arms, and Sapphire on her head.
Luz had some bandages on her cheeks and forehead, while her right arm was covered in bandage wraps.
"Glad to see you're doing better." King said.
"You're not hurt too bad are you?" Kali asked.
"Nah, I'm alright." Luz said. "It's not as bad as it looks."
"Luz hid me in one of the barrels. I managed to get out after those Phantom creeps left, and I did what I could to treat their injuries." King stated. "I even freed that weird guy who's always talking to girls."
"Don't follow Loki's example." Kali said, before pulling out her portal blade. "We're heading out. I'll grab our stuff from my house, after I drop you off at the Owl House."
"Sounds good." Luz said.
"By Erza." Kali said, looking to the redhead. "Take care."
Opening a portal, Kali let King and Luz go through with Sapphire joining them. Once the portal closed, Erza watched as Kali left the medical tent, and went in the direction of her house.
"Try taking your own advice Kali." Erza sighed.
