Coven Fairy

All was quiet in the head of the tower, as Jellal sat in his throne, moving the pieces accordingly.

"All is coming into place." The blue haired man said, putting four extra pieces on the board. "The arrival of the Owl Lady, and the Beasts friends, are unexpected but they're no match for Trinity Raven. An' speaking of the Beast…"

Jellal paused as he did a three count, before the walls to his right were shattered, and reduced to stones on the ground.

"JELLAL." Kali shouted.

"Right on time as always Kali." Jellal smiled getting up from his seat. "When was it I saw you last, hmm? Or was it my brother who saw you at the trial for Clover's destruction? It's hard to keep track when you share a mind with your twin."

"I believe that was your brother." Kali hissed, jumping off the beastly Sapphire's back. "The council was originally gonna go for Erza, but thought at the last minute, that it would be more effective, if the granddaughter of the Guild Master was used as the Scapegoat."

"Ah yes, now I remember." Jellal smiled. "Now tell me, how did you get past Fukuro, and how did you get here past Erza? She's still stuck in a card in Sho's pocket."

"I flew on Sapphire's back." Kali said, Sapphire taking on her staff form in Kali's hand, before she pulled out the blade Erza tossed to her. "As for Fukuro, let's just say he wasn't expecting me to know how to deal with owls."

"Right, I suppose it was my mistake that I had paired him with you, given your grandmother's condition and all." Jellal said. "A condition I know you share, and I sympathize with you for it."

"Shut up." Kali called out, running at Jellal, and swinging her blade at him. "You could never understand the pain this curse has caused me and my family."

"Oh, you are right about that. But that doesn't mean I can't mourn for your public reputation." Jellal stated, dodging the blow. "But don't fret. If I am successful in reviving Zeref, then he can make you whole, he can make your grandmother whole. He can free you of your curses."

"No." Kali said, swinging her blade sideways at him. "People might view me as some sort of monster because of this curse, and they're right. But like it or not, this curse is a part of who I am, it's a piece of my being I was born with. So I've attempted to do something Eda never thought to do with her curse."

"Oh, do enlighten me on what you've tried to do Little Witchlet." Jellal smirked, dodging her swings left and right.

"Where did you hear that nickname?" Kali questioned.

"First tell me what you've been attempting to do with your curse." Jellal said.

"AS IF I'D TELL A PSYCHO LIKE YOU!" Kali shouted, lunging at him.

Jellal just jumped back with a smirk on his face, and held out his hand, a circle of Darkness Magic appearing over his palm.

"Dark Rondo!" Jellal called out.

In the instant he called out the spell, a flurry of dark ghosts came flooding out from the circle and were sent right at Kali.

"You tell me, how you know Eda's nickname, from when she was a kid, or I swear I will carve the answer out of you." Kali declared, Sapphire taking on her independent form and flying for Jellal, as the ghosts were cut down by both the blade and the Palisman staff.

"Oh, you are a feisty one." Jellal laughed as he easily evaded Sapphire's attempts at striking him. "Unfortunately, I know all your moves, all your little tricks, and all your Palisman's abilities."

"Not all of them." Kali stated, before whistling. "Sapphire, Formation Delta."

"What formation will you by trying to pull this time?" Jellal asked, sounding amused.

Sapphire flew through the room, the light shining through the hole barely making it visible to see how the royal blue color of Sapphire's body changed to a light crisp icy blue color. Going back to Jellal, Sapphire released a breath attack, encasing the ground at Jellal's feet, and his boots, in ice.

"I see." Jellal said, easily breaking through the ice, and stepping out of it. "Delta allows your Familiar Creature to change either one or both its elements."

"You haven't seen anything yet." Kali stated, before the doors burst open.

"Jellal." Erza cried out, barging into the room, before gasping.

"Erza."

"Well, it seems the sacrifice has made her way to me herself." Jellal smiled.

"Kali what are you doing?" Erza questioned.

"I'm stopping Jellal." Kali said. "He was your childhood friend. You shouldn't have to go through the pain, of taking him down yourself."

Kali lunged at Jellal again, before the man moved to the side, this time just barely avoiding the blade as Kali moved with speed he hadn't expected from her, and sliced the hood of his cloak in half.

"Oh my, seems I've still underestimated you." Jellal said before he smiled as he noticed something.

"You're damn right you've underestimated me." Kali growled.

"You might wanna take care of your own problem, before you take care of me." Jellal said, pointing down.

Kali looked to where Jellal was pointing and gasped when she saw her hands and arms were covered in scales. Bringing one of her hands to her face, she could feel the rough texture of scales decorating areas on her cheeks. Erza saw this as well, and saw while Kali was distracted, Jellal was preparing another attack.

"Paradise of Sins!" Jellal cried out.

"Kali, get back." Erza cried out, pulling Kali back.

Swinging her blade, Erza cut down the spell as it sprouted tentacle like appendages, before a cry out from Kali, as she entered her cursed form, echoed around the chamber and the two magical warriors attention was brought to her.

Kali struggled to hold back the curse, as her left eye was consumed by darkness, but her right eye remained.

"No. I have to keep fighting. I have to." Kali declared.

Within Kali's mind, everything seemed to go dark, as Kali opened her eyes, picking herself up in the dark void of the mindscape, before she was face to face with the demon of her curse.

"I'm not scared of you Dragon Demon." Kali declared.

Without flinching, Kali just stood there as the beast of her curse let out a roar that shook the ground, right in Kali's face.

"I know you didn't ask for this life. But you were born as a part of me, you were born with me." Kali said as the roar ended. "You want to know what your purpose in this world is, well I want to know to."

Reaching up, Kali gently, and fearlessly placed her hand on the Dragon Demon's snout, before it began to relax and shrink as a light enveloped it. Before long, the beast had grown small, small enough for Kali to pick up and hold in her arms.

"You and I aren't so different. We both feel like outcasts and… we were both abandoned by those who gave us, our magic." Kali stated.

Back in the realm of consciousness, Erza and Jellal were both in the midst of fighting a battle between each other, and the Beastly Kali, but that changed when Kali's attack on Erza stopped and was directed right at Jellal, taking him by surprise as he was pinned to the ground by her claws.

"Kali?" Erza questioned.

"Erza." Kali said, her voice sounding different. "It's me."

"What's going on? What's happening to you?"

"I've made a connection, a pact, with the beast of my curse." Kali stated. "I'm not sure how long it'll last, but I need one of my Elixirs to return to normal."

"Alright, I still have a few in my Requip Void from our days training on honing both our sword skills." Erza said.

"First, we have to make sure we bring Jellal to justice, and get the Council to cease fire on the Tower." Kali said.

"It's too late for that." Jellal said. "Once the Satellite's been primed and ready, there's no stopping the Etherion from firing."

"What are you up to Jellal? Answer me. You know your dream will never come true, so why are you willing to risk your life? Do you want to die? If that's the case, then I'll take Kali's place in holding you down, then we'll go together, and I won't let up till the bitter end."

"To be honest. That doesn't sound so bad." Jellal said surprising both women, putting a hand on Kali's beastly forearm. "I no longer have control over my own body and soul because I've been possessed by Zeref. I'm merely a puppet he's manipulating in order to become flesh again."

"You were possessed by him?" Erza asked.

"I find that highly unlikely." Kali stated skeptically.

"I wasn't able to save myself, and not even my closest friends were there to come to my rescue." Jellal continued. "That's when I realized there is no heaven, nor does true freedom really exist. All of creation was finished before it even began, simple, fragile, and able to be turned into a puppet if a higher being of power wished it. Deep down I knew the R-System couldn't be completed, but Zeref kept pushing me. He forced me to continue the Tower's construction. I wanted to stop but I couldn't. It's like I was a freight train with no breaks. I surrender. Go ahead and finish me. Isn't that why you came looking for me?"

There was a moment of hesitation as Erza wasn't sure on what to do, before she pulled an Elixir from her Requip Void, and fed it to Kali.

"Release your hold on him Kali." Erza said, as the girl returned to normal.

"But Erza…"

"Now." Erza stated.

Begrudgingly, Kali removed herself from Jellal. This act causing Jellal to gasp in shock and surprise, as he sat up.

"There's no need for me to spill your blood with my own hands." Erza stated putting her blade back in her reequip dimension. "The satellite square is focused, and the Etherion will fire any minute now."

"That means this is the end, for you, Erza, and me." Kali sighed, Sapphire perching herself on her creator's shoulder.

"No Kali, find the others. Use your Portal Blade, and get back to the Guildhall. If you use your lightning you can just make it." Erza said. "I will be the only one, to perish with Jellal."

"I'm not leaving. Besides, I gave Luz the blade and told her to give it to Natsu if she finds him." Kali stated. "I'm here for the long haul."

"It is a grim fate that we share." Jellal sighed sitting up as the intensity of the tower's quaking increased. "For what it's worth Kali, I truly am sorry for what you've had to go through, living with that curse."

"So all this time, you were just another of Zeref's victims." Erza sighed.

"It's my own fault. I let my weakness get the best of me when I saw what had happened to you that day. The rift between my dream and reality was too deep for my mind to comprehend." Jellal stated as Kali leaned against the giant crystal in the center of the room, Sapphire curled up in her arms.

"The only people capable of saving you, from your flaws and inner weakness, are those who you call your friends." Erza stated.

"That's true." Jellal stated.

"I apologize for not being able to save you back then." Erza said, sadness in her voice. "Can you forgive me?"

"Erza. You have saved me." Jellal smiled before the two embraced each other in a hug.

A bright flash of energy filled light blinded the three of them, as the Etherion made contact with the tower, destroying the stone layers, as they were turned from simple stone, to Lacrima.

Kali opened her eyes and looked around in shock, realizing what was happening.

"Of course. I knew something was up." Kali growled as Jellal stood up. "The tower absorbed the Etherion blast, turning it into a giant lacrima."

"What have you done?" Erza questioned as Jellal began to chuckle quietly.

The quiet chuckling began to grow into an uproar of evil laughter, as Jellal was proud of what he had accomplished.

"It's here. At long last my hour of glory has arrived." Jellal smiled.

"Glory?" Erza questioned.

"This is the true form of the Tower of Heaven. A giant magical lacrima crystal. Thanks to the council, it's ready to activate. The Etherion's magic energy provided the missing piece of the puzzle, which means the R-System is now complete." Jellal monologued gleefully.

"So, we were your pawns." Erza glared.

"Your expression was priceless Erza. Yours as well the young slayer." A man, looking exactly like Jellal said, appearing out of nowhere behind them both. "He isn't capable of putting forth his full power right now. So he had to manipulate the both of you in order to save himself."

"Siegran." Erza gasped. "I don't understand. What are you doing here?"

"This reminds me of when we first met, years ago. Do you remember Erza?" Siegran questioned.

"You accompanied Makarov to the Magic Council to submit a written apology for destruction of property." Jellal smiled.

"She attacked me out of nowhere. She must have mistaken me for you." Siegran added.

"I can't say I blame her. After all we do look alike." Jellal stated.

"You refused to let up until I confessed to you that I was his twin. But still you were hostile towards me from that day forward." Siegran stated.

"What did you expect? If you truly cared about your brother, you would have tried to stop him instead of helping him cover his tracks. I know you've been spying on me and reporting back to him." Erza glared as Kali stood next to her.

"Is that so?" Jellal asked.

"A mistake on my part. In retrospect, perhaps I should have said something that would have convinced you I was going to find Jellal and kill him, but my biggest mistake was running into you in the first place, especially after the trouble I went through to become a council member." Siegran sighed.

"There's nothing worse than having to come up with excuses on the spot." Jellal chimed in.

"I get it. So the two of you have been conspiring this whole time." Erza glared.

"Conspiring?" Jellal questioned.

"Not exactly." Siegran added.

"I'm afraid it's more complicated than that." Jellal stated as Siegran's body became transparent.

"We're not twins, but two faces of one person, and we have been from the start." They said in perfect unison, before joining back together, becoming whole once more.

"But how is that possible? Was he just a projection?" Erza questioned taking a step back.

"You never suspected for a moment we were one and the same." Jellal smirked.

"Then you're the one responsible for firing the Etherion." Kali glared. "Did you worm your way onto the Council just for that?"

"I hope you enjoyed the freedom I granted you all those years ago Erza. Your release and everything after was all part of my plan to resurrect Zeref." Jellal said, ignoring Kali's remark.

"How can you live with yourself knowing that your entire life has been one big lie?" Erza questioned.

"Magic energy." Jellal stated clenching his fist. "I can feel it surging through my body."

Kali and Erza lunged forward, swinging their fists at Jellal, before he ducked under their attacks, leaning forward as he flicked them both in the stomach, sending them flying across the lacrima ground, before they skid to a halt.

"Looks as though someone's a little worse for wear." Jellal chuckled.

Kali flipped over, landing on her feet in a three point stance, with Sapphire returning to her hands, before lunging at Jellal, swinging her Palisman staff at the man, left and right, with each swing evaded before Jellal grabbing her wrists.

"Erza, don't tell me you used up all your magic energy fighting against Ikaruga." Jellal said as Erza picked herself up.

Erza slammed her fist into the ground, bringing out one of her larger blades, before running at him, ready to strike.

"Jellal." Erza shouted. "You're through."

Jellal pushed Kali away, and blocked Erza's blade with a shield of energy. Erza twisted around before pulling out a second equally large blade, swinging them both at Jellal. Kali stopped the momentum of Jellal's throw, her hand touching something, before she noticed it was the blade Erza gifted her. Grabbing the hilt of her sword, Kali rushed at the blue haired man as she prepared to end him for his deception and manipulation. Jellal managed to evade them both, avoiding Erza's kick, and Kali's leg-sweep, before jumping to the side, with a smirk.

"Sapphire, Formation Beta." Kali called out.

"The Magic Council's headquarters is little more than a pile of rubble by now. I can't tell you what a blessing Ultear has been." Jellal smiled, as both Erza and Kali began trying to hit him with dual wielding sword abilities. "I couldn't have done it without her. She had no fear of death because she believes all of mankind will become one in heaven. In fact she told me she'd be more than happy to give her life if it meant my dream would come to fruition. Remind me to thank her for being an ignorant fool and being so easy to manipulate."

"Curse you." Erza shouted swinging her blades down at Jellal, shattering a pillar of lacrima after he evaded it. "I'm taking revenge for all the people you've abused. This is the end Jellal. I'll kill you! AGH!"

Jellal remained motionless as a red centipede like mark began to spread all around Erza's arm, before wrapping around her entire body paralyzing her.

"Huh? What's happening?" Erza questioned.

"It's just a bind snake. I slipped one onto you during our heartwarming embrace earlier as the Tower was enveloped by Etherion." Jellal chuckled, kicking Kali away.

"Bastard." Kali shouted, picking herself up running for him, before a bind snake began to coil itself around her as well.

"I also placed one onto you when you were pinning me down earlier. It was quite easy with how your monstrous claw was on my chest." Jellal stated. "Now that I've collected the precise amount of magic energy needed for the R-System, there's one more thing that must be done before Zeref can be resurrected." Jellal smiled walking to Erza. "This is where you take center stage for your moment in the spotlight."

"Go to hell." Kali growled, trying to ignore the pain the bind snake was putting her through.

"The magic energy held within this lacrima must be fused with the body of my sacrifice. Once that happens, your flesh will break down and reconstruct itself to create Zeref's new body." Jellal explained, ignoring Kali's insult.

A pillar of Lacrima rose from the ground behind Erza, enveloping her hands pulling the scarlet haired beauty backwards, as she began screaming in pain from the pressure of the Etherion energy enveloping her.

"ERZA." Kali cried out.

"Oh great and powerful Zeref, I call upon you to offer you this woman's flesh." Jellal chanted.

"NO." Kali cried out again, the Bind Snake keeping her in pain, shattering like glass, before Kali ran for the pillar, zipping past Jellal, shocking him as he hadn't expected her to break free, before the Clawthorne grabbed Erza by the shoulders and began pulling on her.

"Kali, what are you doing?" Erza questioned.

"Erza, I already lost my mom. I didn't even know her. That's something you and I have in common." Kali said, pulling harder on Kali. "I lost her before I was even part of this world. I can't lose you too, I can't."

Pulling harder on Erza, Kali cried out in rage and anger, before she managed to pull the red head warrior out, and with the momentum carrying them both, twisted around as her back hit the pillar of Lacrima and she began to be absorbed as Erza was thrown to the ground.

"Kali." Erza gasped.

"It's fine Erza." Kali said a single tear in her eye. "At least this way, I'll get the see my mom. Take good care of Sapphire for me."

"Oh man, this is just too good." Jellal laughed as Kali was pulled into the Lacrima deeper. "You're sacrificing yourself, so your body can be used to bring about a new utopia of power, where the strong will rule domain over the weak and will rule from Heaven."

"Not if I can help it pal." Natsu shouted, hitting Jellal in the face with a Fire Dragon Iron Fist, attack.

"Natsu." Erza gasped.

"I got you Erza." Natsu said grabbing Erza and pulling her away her out and destroying the bind snake, causing Erza to gasp as Natsu jumped back with her in his arms. "Erza's an important part of our Fairy Tail family. I won't let you touch her."

"Natsu." Kali shouted gaining his attention.

Natsu's eyes widened in horror, seeing Kali's head was all that remained outside of the lacrima.

"Kick Jellal's ass for me." Kali smirked as all but her face was enveloped.

"Kali."

"Natsu, the portal blade." Erza said.

Natsu looked to Erza, before reaching into his scarf, and pulling out the crystal blade. Without a moments hesitation, while the Lacrima was still malleable, Natsu threw the butterfly knife towards the Lacrima pillar, allowing it to be enveloped by the Lacrima, right before it went solid again.

"Are you insane Natsu Dragneel?" Jellal questioned with a laugh. "That portal blade was your only hope of surviving this night, now you will die here, along with the rest of the weaklings who scurry about my tower."

"Natsu, you've gotta get out of here as fast as you can." Erza said. "I'll try to save Kali, but you have to leave with the others, get them to safety."

"I ain't leaving. If you can't do the fighting yourself, then I'll just have to do it for you." Natsu growled, rightfully pissed at Jellal with Sapphire on his shoulder, hissing in hatred.

"You can't. He's too powerful. Besides you don't know anything about him." Erza exclaimed.

"Who says I need to know the guy to beat him up?" Natsu questioned.

"Please." Erza began as a tear fell from her left eye. "Just this once do as I ask you. I already lost one friend, I don't wanna lose you to."

Natsu was silent and motionless before he grunted as he bent down, picking Erza up with one of her arms over his shoulder.

"What are you doing?" Erza questioned.

"Honestly, I don't really know you all that well either, but I can still take you down." Natsu grunted slamming his fist into her stomach, knocking her out.

Erza slumped over on Natsu as he brought her back down to the ground, gently laying her down to sleep. This act of sudden violence caused Jellal to gasp in shock, wondering why Natsu would even do that.

"You're even foolhardier than the rumors make you out to be." Jellal stated. "What kind of sick satisfaction do you get from striking a defenseless friend?"

"I had to do it." Natsu stated, standing tall and widening his stance. "Because she was crying. She looked so weak and fragile. Her voice was trembling with fear." He continued, igniting his flames, his magic energy flowing all around him. "I don't wanna see Erza like that. I've always looked up to her as a strong warrior. When she wakes up from this nightmare, I want her to feel like her old self again." He exclaimed, his eyes snapping open, revealing a rage that could not be tamed. "If you wanna get to her, you'll have to go through me. I'll make you pay for making Erza cry, and what you did to Kali."

"Is that a challenge? Consider my interest piqued." Jellal smiled, making a, come and get me, motion with his hand. "I would love to witness the power of a true Dragonslayer."

Natsu went lunging at Jellal, throwing a Fire-Dragon-Iron-Fist, at him. The blue haired man blocked the attack, sending it to the side, while fending it off with a magic barrier. In just as quick a motion, Natsu hit Jellal in the head with his talon attack, sending Jellal flying before catching up and slamming his fist into the bluenet's stomach, knocking the wind out of him.

After that, Natsu used his speed and slammed his flaming fists multiple times into Jellal's face, knocking him left and right, ending it with a wing attack, and another talon attack, sending Jellal into a pillar of lacrima, creating a cracked dent on the side of it.

"Fire Dragon Roar…" Natsu shouted as Jellal picked himself up.

As the attack hit, Jellal shielded himself with his magic. As the flames died down, it was revealed that Jellal was unharmed, and the most damage that was done was to his jacket, which he threw to the side.

"Is that the best you can do?" Jellal questioned with a confident smirk on his face. "I expected more from you, Natsu Dragneel, son of Igneel. I was hoping to get a taste of the destructive might of a Dragonslayer before I started ripping you to shreds with my bear hands, but if that's all you've got, I won't waste my time."

"I'll show you." Natsu shouted dashing for Jellal.

"You must be punished for disrupting my ceremony." Jellal stated. "Prepare to be destroyed by my Heavenly Body Magic. METEOR!"

Jellal's body began to glow in an instant, before he dashed away from Natsu, evading his attack faster than the pinket's eyes could perceive. Without warning, Jellal came back and slammed his fists into Natsu's back, sending the pink haired Dragonslayer forward.

Natsu turned around to face Jellal, only to be repeatedly bombarded with Jellal's attacks, coming from all different angles and directions.

"Be glad you got your hits in, 'cause it won't happen again. Now, I'll show you the true destructive power of darkness magic." Jellal smiled charging up an attack. "May the seven stars bring judgement upon you; Seven Star Sword: Grand Chariot!"

The attack came falling down from above, as Natsu stared up in horror, before he was pulled out of the way by a green vine, and the attack hit the ground, building up a cloud of dust. When Jellal landed, and the dust cleared, he laughed when he saw the fallen form of Natsu lying face down on his stomach, motionless as a piece of stone.

"That spell packs as much of a punch as being hit by a fallen meteor." Jellal said. "I'm surprised his body's still in one piece after being hit with it. Perhaps that was a little much. The R-System can't afford to suffer anymore damage, or it'll be rendered useless. I can feel the magic energy beginning to leak out."

"HEY." A voice called out, as a stray pebble of Etherion hit his head.

Jellal turned around to see Luz, Willow, Gus, and Natsu standing there as the three witches looked angered. Looking back to where 'Natsu' lay, Jellal was surprised as he vanished in a puff of blue smoke.

"Illusion Magic Sucker." Luz said. "Now let Erza and Kali go."

"You're free to take Erza, but I'm afraid it's too late for Kali." Jellal said. "As we speak, her body's being broken down and reassembled into a new form for my Lord and Master Zeref." He explained, gesturing to the Lacrima pillar Kali was absorbed into.

"No." Luz gasped. "No, Kali can't be gone. She can't be."

"I'm afraid she is. So sorry." Jellal said. "But I'm afraid even if you do take Erza, I can't let you leave the Tower alive."

"Your forgetting one thing pal." Natsu stated, slamming his foot into the ground, causing cracks to spiderweb from the epicenter of the stomp. "I've got the hearing of a Dragon. An' you revealed to us, what we need to do to stop your plans for good."

"No, you wouldn't." Jellal said.

"Let's do this guys." Luz called out.

"YEAH." Gus and Willow called out, as Willow began using plant magic to destroy parts of the tower, and Gus used a connection link to the tower's power to draw on it, and make his illusions solid enough to cause damage."

"No stop, don't do this." Jellal cried out.

"What's the matter pal? Didn't you know destroying things is what Fairy Tail's best known for?" Natsu questioned, jumping into the air, and hitting the ground with a Fire Dragon's Iron Fist.

"I'm not going to let you get in my way." Jellal declared, his eyes becoming bloodshot. "This'll be the end of you. I've dreamed of this day and I won't let a bunch of fools like you spoil it for me."

Jellal held out his hands, a golden star magic circle forming before disappearing, sending off a barrage of star bullets, missing the group as Willow used plant magic to form a barrier, and Luz used her Palistrom Staff to reinforce it.

As the attack continued, Natsu jumped over the barrier, his fist covered in his flames as he charged at his blue haired enemy.

Jellal swung his arms forward before swinging them back to his attacker, sending a wave of heavenly magic towards him, sending the pink haired Dragonslayer flying back, hitting the vine barrier.

"Natsu." Erza's voice echoed as she screamed.

"Ha, ha! You're so worried about wrecking your precious Tower, you're not gonna fight me full on?" Natsu smirked as he broke through the wave, and went running back at Jellal. "I get the feeling you're holding back quite a bit of your magic power. Let me tell ya something Jellal, that ain't gonna work against me."

"I'd watch my mouth if I were you." Jellal shouted, falling for the taunting, sending a full on attack against him.

"Fire-Dragon-Brilliant-Flame!" Natsu shouted sending his own attack forward.

Jellal covered himself thinking the attack was for him, but to his shock, it was aimed at the ground, breaking through three floors of the tower. With the ground breaking apart under their feet, the two fighters lifted up from the falling ground, into the air where it was safer.

"They're aiming for the tower." Erza gasped as Willow used vines to make a safety net that caught all of them, while remaining suspended in the air, and kept from falling.

When the flames died down, Natsu landed on a large piece of the nearly shattered floor, sporting a rather intimidating smirk.

"Now I'm angry." Jellal stated, clenching his fists. "I didn't spend years building this Tower just to have some idiotic punk tear it down. I won't let you."

"Tough break, pal, but you can't say I didn't warn you." Natsu smirked. "I told you destroying stuff is one of Fairy Tail's specialties."

'Be careful Natsu, you're weak. You barely have the strength to stand.' Erza mentally pleaded.

"I'll make you pay." Jellal shouted crossing his wrists before reaching them over his head.

A large burst of energy went rushing from where he stood, making Natsu lose balance for a moment, before a dark sphere of magic energy formed on his hands, reeking of death and decay.

"Whoa, something weird's going on with his magic." Natsu exclaimed covering his face with his arm. "It's making me feel sick."

"Why's my shadow bending towards the light?" Erza questioned. "That spell, it could kill Natsu."

"Now, I'll plunge you into infinite darkness, Dragonslayer." Jellal shouted.

"Don't do it." Erza shouted appearing in front of Natsu. "Unless you wanna kill me too." Jellal gasped and the area began to lighten up again.

"That would be a problem. The ceremony requires the body of a sorcerer or sorceress comparable in strength to one of the Ten Wizard Saints. However, I've already got someone like that within the lacrima, who's body is being reconstructed as we speak." Jellal exclaimed.

"Watch out! What are you doing?" Natsu shouted.

"It's my fault that you're involved in this mess, and it's my fault Kali was absorbed into the Lacrima. The least I can do is protect you." Erza said with a determined smile.

"Get out of the way." Natsu shouted.

"Heavenly Body Magic: Altairis!" Jellal shouted sending the spell of death in their direction.

"Erza." Natsu shouted as the spell approached.

As Erza braced for the impact, the sound of shattering and crumbling stone was barely heard, before the sound of whistling wind blew past them and a blade sliced through something. Opening her eyes, Erza gasped when she saw Kali crouched in front of her, holding not only the blade that had been custom made for her by the red head sorceress, but also a wakizashi, with a handle that looked like it could split open down the middle, and a blade that had a slight curve on the back, like a long and thin falchion blade designed to be similar to a wakizashi blade, made out of pure Ether energy.

"Sorry I'm late for the party." Kali smirked, opening her eyes to show they were glowing a pure Etherion blue. "Hope you didn't start the fun without me."
