Coven Fairy

"Come on Natsu, calm down." Grey said, keeping his pyro friend from running off.

"Are you kidding me?" Natsu questioned. "They've got our friend and her grandmother locked up in the Emperor's Castle."

"I understand your anger Natsu, but we're in a foreign nation that was have no jurisdiction or political power in." Erza stated.

"Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm with Salamander on this one." Gajeel said. "Kali's the adopted daughter of Metalicana's mate, which makes her my little sister. I'm going after her, whether you three like it or not."

"I'm going to." Luz said, letting them know she was there, with Sapphire at her side, the size of a Direwolf. Luz was wearing the cloak that Eda had made for her, and she had a determined look on her face.

"You don't have that much power in ya shorty." Gajeel said.

"That doesn't matter." Luz said. "Kali and Eda are in this situation because of me, and I have to do something to fix it. To make it right."

"Luz, you were just trying to help them." Erza said. "There's nothing wrong with wanting to right your wrongs, but you have to know you're out of your depth here. So far we've only seen you use Earthland Magic, on two occasions, one of which only Lucy saw."

"I have to help." Luz stated. "Besides, Kali still has the portal to Earthland, and Eda still has the portal to the human realm. I'm not going to sit here and do nothing while they're being taken to the Emperor. I have to help!" She exclaimed, throwing open the cloak, revealing the key hole chest, long sleeved crop top Kali had made for her, with each of the four elemental glyphs on the sleeves going from the shoulders down, before starting up with different magic glyphs, ending with the power up glyphs from the construction coven on the back of her hands.

Each of the glyphs were sewn with the colors best representing their elements. Abomination, plant, healing, illusion, beast taming, bard, potions, and construction.

"Eda and Kali wouldn't be in this mess, if I hadn't been so stupid." Luz groaned.

"What about Sapphire?" Natsu asked. "Someone's gotta stay here to keep her and her babies safe when they come."

"She said her babies are fine. She gave birth, and the Bat Queen's looking after them." King stated. "She wants to help fight, and get Kali and Eda back."

"Then she should be resting after such an ordeal." Erza said, before Sapphire screeched angrily.

"She doesn't wanna just sit around either." Luz said. "She wants to fight, and get Eda and Kali back. I have to make this right."

The others looked at Luz, Natsu was the only one smiling with pride.

"Now you're starting to think like a Fairy Tail Wizard." Natsu stated. "Let's go get our family back."

~Emperor's Castle~

Within the chamber of the Emperors throne room, beneath the beating heart of the Titan, Lilith was in a bind as she was trying, and failing to keep Eda controlled. Kali had been forced back to her normal form, thanks to Luz slipping up, and telling her what the elixir was she found in the humans bag. The Clawthorne teen was currently trapped in a bubble, while constantly being drained of her magic by a collar locked around her neck, and watching in amusement how Lilith was failing to control the Owl Beast.

"Eda, stop that this instant." Lilith stated, giving chase to her cursed sister.

"No, let her run, have her fun." Kali called out. "After all, you're the reason she's like this, so you have zero say in how she should live her life."

Lilith just glared back at Kali, before she drew a magic circle in the air. Pushing the circle up, Lilith made it disperse, before a ring of flames ignited around Eda, and encased her in a bigger bubble then the one Kali was in, and putting them side by side.

"Boo. Kill joy."

"You be quiet." Lilith said, looking to Kali, before looking to Eda. "An' you, don't look at me like that, this is for your own good. Emperor Belos will heal you, both of you, and we'll be in his Coven together as a family should be."

"Hard pass." Kali stated, flipping her off with both hands, while Owl Beast Eda stuck her tongue out at her. "I'd rather die, then work for a tyrant who's pushing his own agenda onto the people of the Isles under a false name."

"Again with this Philip Wittebane crap?" Lilith questioned. "Your curse is obviously making you delusional."

"No my curse, something you gave me by proxy when you cursed Eda and killed my mother, is something I have under control." Kali said with a glare. "Do you honestly think, I'm gonna sit here, and listen to you? You, the person who cursed Eda, probably for the pettiest of reasons imaginable, and you wanna lecture us on what's right and what's wrong? You do know, cursing someone the way you cursed Eda, is a punishable offense, via petrification."

"We were children when it happened."

"Doesn't matter." Kali leered. "It still happened. An' because it happened, my curse killed my mother, the day I was born."

The edge in her voice was sharp enough, to cut through Lilith's core, and the stone pillars behind her. She knew Kali had the right to be angry with her, Eda too, and she wasn't gonna try and beg them for forgiveness.

"Once you both join the Emperors Coven, you'll see I was just doing this for your safety and sanity." Lilith said.

"I'd let us go, if you know what's best for you." Kali said.

"Excuse you?" Lilith questioned.

"Do you honestly think, Natsu, Gajeel, Grey, Erza, and even Luz are just gonna let this happen?" Kali asked. "They're gonna come for Eda and me."

"What could they possibly do against all of the Coven Scouts we have in our forces?" Lilith questioned.

"Natsu, Erza, and Grey, are Fairy Tails strongest team in history. Those three are so powerful, they destroyed an entire town in one hour, just by fighting a cursed monster of death, larger then a mountain." Kali stated. "So what do you think will happen, if they come charging into this castle, with the intent on rescuing their family?"

Lilith looked at Kali, her eyes saying there were no lies behind her words. This troubled Lilith greatly, before the doors opened revealing the Emperors escort as they came into the throne room. The Emperor was escorted by six Coven Scouts, and Kikimora coming in before him.

"All kneel before Emperor Belos." Kikimora said, announcing his arrival before bowing and moving out of the way.

Lilith instantly took a knee, as Belos came into the throne room. The instant Owl Beast Eda saw him, she broke free of the bubble, and began charging at him.

"Eda stop." Kali called out, slamming her fists against the bubble.

The instant she lunged at Belos, the Emperor vanished, before reappearing behind her, and with a simple raise of his finger, knocked her away, slamming the cursed beast into the wall before falling to the ground, restrained by ropes of magic.

"My Lord, I apologize for my sisters rash behavior." Lilith said, running in front of Eda. "She is still in her cursed form."

"A curse which you put on her." Kali shouted.

"Once you've healed her as promised, I'm sure she and my niece both, will become a useful asset to the Coven." Lilith stated, gritting her teeth at what Kali said.

The Emperor brought forth his staff, which unfolded into its full glory, before he used a ray of magic on Owl Beast Eda, hitting her mind with it. Once the spell casting ended, the Owl Beasts eyes reverted to Eda's, and the Owl Lady was back to her normal mentality.

"Where am I, what is this?" Eda questioned, before noticing Belos. "Ah farts, I got caught."

"Same here Eda." Kali said as her bubble was brought over to Eda.

"Edalyn Clawthorne, the Owl Lady, the Wild Witch of Bonesborough." Belos said, looking at her, before looking to Kali. "An' Kali Dreyar Clawthorne, the infamous granddaughter of the Owl Lady. Is Earthland still at war with the dragons?"

"That war ended over four hundred years ago dipshit." Kali sneered.

"Mind your manners when addressing the Emperor cretin." Kikimora stated.

Kali just flipped her off, with a snarling growl.

"Watch how you speak, to my granddaughter." Eda growled, glaring at Kikimora. "Otherwise you'll find yourself as the Owl Beasts next meal."

"My, such lively tempers." Belos said, almost sounding amused by all this banter. "I can see why Luz the human, chose you both as her mentors."

"You stay away from Luz, or so help me Titan." Kali growled, slamming her fists against the bubble, causing it to crack.

"You've got it all wrong." Belos chuckled. "The human is safe, for now. I just want the portal she came through."

"Why, so you can conquer her world as well?" Kali questioned.

"I'm wanting your portal blade as well." Belos said. "The Titan wishes for the inhabitants of Earthland, to learn the proper use of magic, same as the people of the Boiling Isles."

"Cut the crap Philip." Kali tsked. "We both know, you can't actually speak to the Titan."

"Philip? Ah yes Philip Wittebane." Belos said, as two guards rolled in a stone casket. "He was an interesting man. I met him around four hundred years ago."

Snapping his fingers, the lid to the casket opened up, revealing the petrified body of a man with a long beard, and hair, wearing some sort of outfit from the fifteen sixteen hundreds, if she remembered correctly what she saw at the Gravesfield museum during one of her visits to the human realm.

"He was dying of an unknown illness, and so I was merciful and ended his suffering, over four hundred years ago. He was the first to ever be affected, by the petrification artifact." Belos said. "Of course in those times, I was still trying to figure out, whose voice I was hearing. I thought I was going mad."

'That looks like the Philip the Titan showed me, but something's off. Why put him in a casket if he's petrified?' Kali questioned.

"Now, the portals."

"Tough shit." Kali hissed. "My portal blade has security measures on it. If anyone who doesn't have my permission, even tries to grab it, the portal blade will return to my hands."

"An' I ain't telling nothing." Eda stated.

"What a shame. Although I suppose I could ask the human herself, about the portal." Belos stated, before snapping his fingers.

"Wait, don't touch her." Eda cried out as she was dragged away. "Lilith make sure Luz is safe, don't let the Emperor touch her."

"Eda." Kali cried out. "Let me out of here Belos. Let her go."

"Ah, taking Edalyn to the healing Ceremony, before Kali?" Lilith questioned.

"I will not be healing Edalyn." Belos said. "Kali on the other hand I will."

"But… why Kali, and not my sister?" Lilith questioned.

"Don't be so naïve Lilith, this is the Titans will." Belos stated.

"Bastard, let me go." Kali cried out, pounding her fists against the bubble.

"All wild Witches must be dealt with, before the Day of Unity." Belos stated. "An' since your niece isn't old enough for joining a coven just yet, she'll be healed, as promised. You understand, don't you?"

"Of course." Lilith said.

"Good." Belos said, heading off to leave, before stopping and turning to look at her again. "Oh and one more thing." He stated, snapping his fingers, resulting in Owlbert and his staff appearing out of nowhere, and landing in Liliths hands. "Destroy the Owl Lady's staff. She won't be needing it anymore."

"Yes sir." Lilith said hesitantly.

"OWLBERT!" Kali cried out.

"Golden Guard." Belos called, to which the golden masked guard appeared in a flash of light.

"I am here Emperor, what is it you desire of me?" The Golden Guard asked.

"Take the Witchling to the Healing Ceremony, and as a token of good faith towards her, give her the sigil that indites her as a member of our Coven before the Ceremony begins." Belos stated.

"As you command Emperor Belos." The Golden Guard said, popping the bubble Kali was in, and restraining her in a field of magic with his own staff.

"Hey, let me go. Put me down. Give Owlbert back, he doesn't belong to you, and he doesn't deserve to die!" Kali cried out, struggling in the grasp of magic, as the Golden Guard, took her away.

~Luz's Group~

"Perry Porter coming to you live, from outside the Emperor's Castle." The Crystal Ball showed the broadcast of Gus's dad reporting on the local news. "Edalyn Clawthorne, known commonly as Eda the Owl Lady has been captured, and has been brought before the Emperor."

"For the crime of attacking a Coven Leader, and refusing to join a Coven, Edalyns body shall be petrified in stone." Kikimora said, as the video feed switched to her. "Today, sundown at the conformatorium."

"Today, is a grave day for Bonesborough." Perry said, as the feed cut back to him.

"This isn't right." Natsu said, as they watched the broadcast through the window of a crystal ball shop. "It didn't say anything about Kali."

"Kali's still a minor." Erza said. "Which means it's likely they won't broadcast her capture, and they probably won't petrify her like Eda. That would cause rioting and distrust amongst the people of the Boiling Isles. It could result in absolute chaos."

"Please tell me that's not as bad as it sounds." Luz said, Sapphire next to her with King on her back.

"Petrification is only done to the worst criminals." King stated. "An' once the spell is complete, it can't be reversed."

"I doubt Eda's done anything that bad. The worst she's done is refuse to join a coven." Grey said.

"She's done a whole lot worse then that Grey." Luz said. "But nothing that could warrant petrification. Lilith did this, she's the one who cursed Eda, she captured her own sister. She is the worst."

"Calm down Luz." Erza said, putting a hand on Luz's. "We have to think about saving Eda and Kali first."

"You're right, but how are we gonna get to the Conformatorium in time? Let alone sneak in?" Luz asked.

"I have an idea." Natsu smirked as a guard walked past them.

~Later~

"Did you have to punch the guard Natsu?" Grey questioned.

"What, I thought it was the easiest way to get us to the Conformatorium." Natsu smirked.

"Yeah, but at what cost?" Erza questioned as they were loaded into a cart. "The poor man was just doing his job, he doesn't know how corrupt the Emperor is."

"Hey, at least we're on our way to the conformatorium." Luz said. "An' with Sapphire as big as she is, she won't be taken to Belos like most other Palismen."

"What does he even do with Palismen?" Gajeel questioned.

"I don't have a clue." King said.

"I know what he does with them." Luz stated. "He destroys them, and absorbs their magic to keep himself powerful."

"That probably would help him stay eternally young as well." Erza said. "This is very troubling indeed."

"Let's hope no one in the Council finds out about this. Or anyone in a Dark Guild for that matter." Grey stated, shivering at the thought of something like that happening to Sapphire.

~Kali~

"Seriously, would you stop struggling?" The Golden Guard questioned, pinning Kali to the wall with his magic, while putting on the sigil branding glove. "This is only gonna hurt for a second."

"You know I'm immune to fire fire?" Kali asked.

"I'm aware, which is why this glove was designed especially for you." The Golden Guard stated, taking her wrist and gripping her forearm with the sigil glove, causing Kali to cry out as it burned. "It's acid, not fire."

Kali pulled back her arm as the Golden Guard dropped his magic on her, before picking her up to her feet.

"Where are we?" Kali questioned, gripping her forearm.

"We're under the conformatorium." Hunter said. "After you've been healed, you'll spend three months in a cell, before being released."

"Why are you doing what Belos is telling you to do?" Kali questioned.

"I'm pretty sure the outfit would be a good indication of that." The Golden Guard said.

"He's evil. He's just trying to control everything before he does something that'll end the Boiling Isles." Kali stated.

"No, he knows what it's like to fight against the evils of wild magic." The Golden Guard said.

"An' how would you know that? How do you know he's not just manipulating you to do what he wants?"

"Because wild Magic killed our family." The Golden Guard blurted out. "Look." He sighed, removing his mask, showing the scar on his face and the deep red of his eyes. "My name is Hunter, and Belos is my uncle. You may not understand it, since you're not originally from the Isles, but Wild Magic is dangerous. Those of us in the Emperor's Coven, are the only ones deemed worthy of wielding all types of magic."

"If wild magic killed your family, then that has nothing to do with the magic itself, rather the evil people who used it for their own selfish greed and attacked your family." Kali stated.

"Wild witches didn't kill my family." Hunter said. "My family died, trying to tame wild magic. They ended up killing themselves."

"Is that the truth, or is that what Belos told you when he awakened you, Grimm Walker?" Kali questioned.

"Grimm Walker?" Hunter questioned. "No, I'm not a Grimm Walker. That's one of the highest, forbidden forms of Wild Magic. There's no way Belos would do something that would break his own laws."

"You reek of Palistrom wood. I'd know the cent pretty well since I have a whole forest of it on my land back in Earthland." Kali stated. "In fact these clothes you see me in, are made from Palistrom silk I made myself."

"If you have access to copious amounts of Palistrom wood, then you need to share this information with the Emperor." Hunter said, putting his mask back on.

"What, so he can make more Palismen to feed on?" Kali questioned. "I don't think so. Besides, my Palistrom Forest, is in Earthland, and the only way to get there, is with my portal blade."

"That won't be a problem, once the Emperor gets his hands on it." Hunter stated.

"You must not have been listening earlier." Kali laughed. "I am the only one, who can freely use my portal blade. I am the only one, who can grant anyone else the ability to even open it. An' guess what? After the little Leviathan incident that the Emperor's Coven swept under the rug, I added another, very destructive safety measure to my portal blade."

"What did you do?" Hunter questioned.

"If Belos, even touches the portal blade, even once… it will explode and destroy itself."

~Conformatorium Entrance~

"Pull yourself together man." Grey said, as Natsu looked like he was about to hurl. "This was your plan to begin with. They'll be stopping to escort us to our cells at any moment."

"Don't blame him for this." Luz said. "Kali told me motion sickness was a weakness all 1st-3rd Dragonslayers, share."

"Then why ain't I puking out my guts?" Gajeel questioned.

"Probably because your senses haven't developed enough to cause motion sickness." Luz stated. "Kali explained when humans have the full heightened senses of a dragon, their bodies can't handle it as it's too much when on a vehicle, causing motion sickness."

"Nah, I think I'm just the exception." Gajeel said confidently, before the cart stopped.

"We're here." Erza said. "Natsu, the cart's stopped moving, we're stationary now."

"Good." Natsu smirked, instantly on his feet and facing the doors.

"He's all better, how?" Luz questioned.

"Let's rumble."

Outside the cart, the guards were coming around to open the doors, to grab the prisoners. However, their advances on the cart were stopped, as a spiraling pillar of flames forced the doors off their hinges, and slammed into the guards, sending them flying.

"I'm all fired up." Natsu smirked as they all jumped out of the cart.

"Halt prisoners."

Natsu turned to who spoke, and glared as Sapphire hissed, while her haunches were arched, with flames and sparks of lightning licking the corners of her lips.

"Who's this joker?" Grey questioned.

"Warden Wrath." Luz stated, her fists clenched in anger. "He's the one who was stalking Eda, and was defeated by Kali the day I first came to the Boiling Isles."

"An' I'll be your warden, for the duration of your stay here, at the Conformatorium, until you're all model citizens, who will follow Emperor Belos's law." Wrath stated.

"I've got this clown." Natsu said.

"No." Luz stated, swiping her hand over the plant and ice glyphs on her sleeves. "Leave him to me."

Marching forward, Luz wasn't even phased when Wrath began running at her. Moving swiftly, she ducked under the Wardens swing, and slammed her fist into the ground, causing roots and vines to sprout, before entangling him in a cocoon of thorns and pain. Turning around at the Coven Guards who were coming to aid their Warden, Luz slapped the ground between them, producing several ice spears that pinned them to the ceiling.

Wrath broke free of his prison of thorns, before he was encased in a block of ice from the shoulders down.

"Where's Eda and Kali?" Luz questioned, stepping up to him with the others behind him, Gajeel's arm turning into a club.

"Eda the Owl Lady's in a holding cell in the dungeon. As for her granddaughter, the Golden Guard's taken her to the healing ceremony room, to be cleansed of her curse." Wrath said, fearfully as all those from Fairy Tail looked intimidating.

"Draw me a map to both locations." Luz stated, holding up a pencil, with two pieces of paper.

"Two separate locations, that's not good." Grey said. "Should we split up to find them?"

"We don't have a choice." Erza said. "Luz, will go with Gajeel, Sapphire, and King to find Eda. Natsu, Grey, you're with me. We're going after Kali."

"But Erza…"

"No arguments Luz." Erza stated. "It's likely you and King are the only ones who can snap Eda back to her senses, if she's actually the Owl Beast. Kali's most likely been returned to her human form by Lilith, so she won't need anything to snap her back. Plus Eda's probably in rough shape, and you're gonna need Sapphire's healing magic to tend to her wounds."

Luz was silent for a moment, before realizing she was right. Eda needed her, and Kali needed them. So with a heavy sigh, she took both maps drawn and kept the one that would lead her to Eda.

"Take care, and be sure not to get caught yourself." Luz said.

~Kali~

"AAAAHHHHH!" Kali cried out in pain, as she was chained into the center of a magic circle.

Several mages, including the head healing from the Healing Coven, were surrounding the magic circle, pouring their energy into the spell that would remove the curse from her body. The sight of Kali's pain, was heart breaking for the Coven Head. She took an oath not to do harm, yet here she was, causing this child harm, to remove a curse she'd been born with. She wasn't even sure if this curse was something she could remove.

"Please just hang in there a little longer." She said, as the spell stopped. "I know it is painful, removing a curse usually is."

"Aren't you… ashamed of yourselves?" Kali huffed, her head hanging low. "You all took an oath, swore not to do harm, yet here you are, performing a healing ritual, with a high chance of death."

"I know, you're upset, and you have every right to be." The Coven Head stated. "But you must understand, removing a curse that one has been bonded to since birth… it's never been done, it's never even been heard of. But this is a gamble the Emperor is willing to put everything on the line for."

"You know…" Kali chuckled in amusement. "It's funny. The day, I was 'born'. The day, I was brought into the world, the only person who didn't wanna kill me, was my grandfather. All because he knew I wasn't the one, who burrowed my way out of my mothers womb. All because, he knew what was wrong with me. Ivan, my own father, Eda's son… tried to kill me, stab me through the heart with a scalpel, shouting I was a monster, a freak of nature who had to be eradicated." She stated. "My grandfather even still has the scar on his palm from when he used it to shield me, while holding me in his arms, after my curse had settled down and I was a normal human baby. I'd always wondered how he'd gotten that scar. Even the doctors, were adamant about killing me right then and there."

"Child…"

"Don't get me wrong, I was never told a single word of this story by anyone, who knew the true circumstances of my birth. This ritual of yours, that's supposed to heal me, it's knocked a few memories of my cursed beasts loose, and sent them to the forefront of my mind." Kali stated, her head slowly rising. "So go ahead, take away this curse. Take away the pain, that has caused harm, suffering, and countless nightmares, to those in the town I grew up in. But you'd better be sure to take all of it when you're done, because if you don't. If even the smallest piece of the curse remains, the monster will be unleashed…"

The Healing Coven members all gasped when Kali looked up at them, the left side of her face looking normal, while the right was in a broad smile, showing that her teeth had been replaced with fangs, dragon scales on her cheek, and her eye illuminated with immense, unfathomable power.

"…and the Boiling Isles, will truly know fear."

~Luz~

"Alright, this is it." Luz said, sliding in front of the door with Gajeel, King and Sapphire.

"You ready to do this kid?" Gajeel questioned.

"Do you even have to ask?" Luz questioned. "King, you and Sapphire watch the door."

Without a second thought, Luz swiped the fist shaped Glyph on both sleeves, and with the immense strength, shattered the lock, keeping the door shut, before removing the chain. Entering the chamber, Luz and Gajeel looked around for any signs of the Owl Beast, as Luz created light with the light Glyph. They only stopped their search, when they found a large winged beast, chained and sleeping on the platform.

"Eda?" Luz gasped.

"Kid wait." Gajeel said, but Luz was already running to Eda.

"Eda!" Luz cried out, before she was knocked back by one of the Owl Beasts wings, as it stood up.

With the sound of voices echoing through the room, the Owl Beast was interested in tearing them to shreds as it turned towards the newcomers with a roar. Running to the downed Luz, the Owl Beast raised its claws to swipe at her, before it stopped as Luz produced another light.

"Eda wait, it's me. It's me." Luz said, speaking in a calm voice, before she gasped when Eda's eyes returned to normal.

"Well I'll be." Gajeel whistled.

"Luz?" Eda questioned. "Oh no. No, no, no, no, no, no. What are you doing here? An' what are you wearing under the cloak I made you?"

"It's okay Eda, we're here to save you. An' I'm wearing Kali's gift she made me." Luz said, using one hand to grip the chain anchor, before she used the other to swipe over the fire Glyph. Unfortunately, the magic was just absorbed into the chain and collar.

"Your magic isn't strong enough for this." Eda said.

"Then how about mine?" Gajeel questioned, Luz jumping out of the way as the man hit it with an Iron Club, only to get the same result. "Damn. What are these things made of?"

"Magic absorption minerals." Eda said. "You must be Gajeel."

"That I am." Gajeel said.

"Kali told me you're a member of Fairy Tail now." Eda sighed. "If you truly are a member, then listen to your senior member and get Luz out of here."

"But, but I can't leave yet. It's my fault you and Kali needed to come and save me." Luz said, trying her magic on the chains again. "It's my fault you got captured."

"No." Eda said, gripping Luz in both hands. "Listen to me Luz. Kali and I are here, because of our own actions. We went against Belos's law, and for a while we were able to get away with it, and Kali proved herself capable in the Boiling Isles." She stated. "But without magic, I can't do much. I don't regret anything, I lived freely, and I got to meet you, and my granddaughter. When you bust Kali out of here, tell her I leave the Owl House, in her care."

"No Eda, Kali still needs you, King still needs you, Hooty still needs you." Luz said, tears forming in her eyes. "I still need you."

"Luz, if you stay here, I won't be able to protect you." Eda stated. "You need to leave, and find Kali, now!"

"But we're a family." Luz said, grabbing Eda's hand as the Owl Lady was pulling it away. "Us weirdo's have to stick together, remember?"

"Luz, Kali is gonna need you now, more then ever." Eda stated, pulling the portal key out from her hair. "The healing ritual that she's being put through right now, will drain her of most if not all her magic by the time it's finished. An' once that happens, she's gonna need someone to look out for her, until she recovers."

Pressing the button on the portal key, Eda brought the Portal Door to their location, and placed the key around Luz's neck.

"Besides, you have a family already." Eda said. "Once you grab Kali, go back to your family, and when you're home, once Kali's safe in the Owl House, use your fire magic to destroy the portal door. I don't know why Belos wants it, but we can't take any chances."

Luz just looked at the key, then to Eda with tears in her eyes. Shoving the key down her shirt, Luz hugged Eda one last time, taking the Owl Lady, pleasantly by surprise.

"I love you Eda." Luz said.

"I love you to kiddo." Eda said, returning the hug, before the alarm blared, with a red light flashing above them, and a trap door opening to let the setting sunlight in.

"Kid." Gajeel cried out, grabbing Luz and pulling her away, before the chains keeping Eda pinned, turned into a cage.

"Eda." Luz gasped as the platform the Owl Lady stood on, began to rise from the ground. "No, not yet." She cried out, jumping up and grabbing the platform, as well as Eda's talon.

"I'm sorry." Eda said, before letting Luz fall, in which Gajeel caught her. "Goodbye Luz."

"EDA!" Luz shouted, before the platform sealed off the world above.

"Kiddo." Gajeel sighed, before the doors opened up.

"Drat, I'm too late." Lilith said, coming through the doors, with King and Sapphire in a bubble, being dragged behind her. "At least I found you, humans."

"You." Luz said, anger in her voice. "You, hurt Eda and Kali. You put them, in chains."

Gajeel turned to look at Lilith entirely, as he cracked his knuckles, and sneered at the Coven Head.

"An' now, it's time we take you down!" Gajeel exclaimed.

From out of nowhere, Luz came running towards Lilith, forcing her to drop the bubble holding King and Sapphire, and put her energy into blocking Luz's strike, as all the glyphs on her sleeves were lit up, with the humans first attack being a torrent of flames.

"I just wanna talk." Lilith said, moving Luz's attack to the side, before she was forced to block a strike from Gajeel.

"Talk to the dragons fist, witch." Gajeel stated, sending another strike at her.

This strike sent Lilith back, forcing her to drop her magic staff, as she was sent through the portal door to the human realm. Gajeel and Luz quickly chased after her.

"Luz." King shouted, riding on Sapphire's back as she ran after them as well.

In the human realm, Lilith was picking herself up, before she was forced to create a barrier to block another iron club strike sent to her by Gajeel, and a pillar of flames sent by Luz.

"Enough!" Lilith shouted, using her plant magic to restrain Luz and Gajeel, as well as King and Sapphire. "Please, just listen to me."

"No way, you deserve to be petrified, not Eda." Luz stated, struggling in her bindings.

"You're right." Lilith said.

Those two words, were all it took for Luz, Gajeel, King, and Sapphire to stop their struggling, as they looked at the Clawthorne sister in shock.

"I deserve to be in Edalyn's place." Lilith stated, undoing their bindings, before crossing her arms.

"Why did you do all this?" Luz questioned. "Why curse your own sister, and ruin any chance of happiness she had?"

"When Edalyn and I were younger, we were the best of friends." Lilith began.

~Erza's Team~

"Heavens Wheel!" Erza cried out, using the attack to knock away the Coven Guards that were keeping them from getting to Kali, as well as slicing through the chains restraining her.

"Fire Dragon: Iron Fist!" Natsu shouted, slamming his fist into the ground, creating a tremor, the resounding shockwave knocking away the Coven Scouts coming to him.

"Ice Make: Double Battle Axe!" Grey chanted, creating two giant battle axes made of ice, and slicing through Kali's bindings.

Kali's body emitted intense amounts of steam, as she fell forward, falling into Natsu's arms.

"Kali, please wake up." Natsu pleaded.

Kali groaned as her eyes fluttered open, before smiling when they landed on her friends.

"What took you bozos so long?" Kali asked.

"That's the Kali we know and love." Natsu smiled. "C'mon, we have to get out of here."

"Where's Eda?" Kali questioned, as Erza took Kali into her arms.

"Gajeel, Luz, King, and Sapphire are working to get her." Grey said.

"What? You let Sapphire tag along? But what about…"

"Her babies were already born." Natsu said. "The Bat Queen's looking after them, while Sapphire joined us for the fight."

"Oh, thank Titan." Kali sighed. "The Portal Blade, where is it?"

"You don't have it?" Erza asked.

"No." Kali said. "I programmed it to come into Luz's possession, should I ever be caught by the Emperor."

"If Luz is unaware of this, then she's gonna be pretty soon once we catch up to her." Natsu said.

Traveling through the passages, Erza's team managed to catch up to Luz, wielding Owlbert, with Gajeel, King, and Sapphire rather quickly, before they stopped when they saw who was accompanying them.

"Lilith?" Kali questioned, pushing herself out of Erza's arms, before she fell to her knees. "What are you doing with…"

"It's okay Kali." Luz said. "She's not our enemy anymore. She's our ally."

"What are you talking about?" Natsu questioned. "Didn't she curse Eda?"

"The curse was only supposed to last a single day. An' it was just supposed to take away Eda's power, so Lilith could win their duel as little girls, so she could get into the Emperor's Coven." Gajeel explained. "Basically, she failed to read the fine print of the curse she found, and has been trying to fix that mistake, ever since."

"Please, I only want to help." Lilith said.

"You, help? How?" Kali questioned.

"Follow me." Lilith stated, leading them through the Conformatorium.

Kali was skeptical about following Liliths lead, but with Sapphires help by growing large enough for her to ride on, she was able to tell that where they were heading, was someplace creepy. Kali wanted to be mad, but Lilith's expression told the teen, that there was some truth to what Gajeel had said. They only stopped, once they got to a platform.

"This platform rise, will take you to the stage where they're keeping Edalyn." Lilith said. "Be sure to watch over Kali carefully, as she's gonna be rather exhausted for a while, after the healing ritual she just went through."

"Does that mean the curse is gone?" Natsu asked.

"No." Kali said, gripping her chest. "I can still feel a piece of the curse is there, and once my magic returns, the curse will be twice as aggressive. Which means my time as me, has been reduced drastically."

"But it shouldn't be rearing its head around for a while, even after you've fully recovered." Grey said.

"Thank you, Lilith." Luz said, looking to the Clawthorne woman. "What will you do now?"

"I will stay in the Emperor's Coven." Lilith stated. "But I will make sure nothing like this, ever happens again."

"Are you sure that's a smart idea?" Gajeel asked. "This Belos guy, if he's as bad as I've heard, will find out you helped us. He'll see you as a traitor, and he will petrify you in your sisters place."

"Then so be it." Lilith stated.

Grey on the other hand, was on his guard around the platform.

"What you thinking Erza?" The Ice Maker asked.

"It's quiet, too quiet." Erza stated.

"I was thinking the same thing." Grey said. "Where are all the guards?"

As if that were the cue, several fleshy tentacles came out of nowhere, and restrained the intruders, and the traitor. One of them grabbed, Sapphire, knocking Kali off her back and to the ground.

"Kali." Luz gasped. "No, everyone." She cried out, watching as they were all hung in the air.

"Luz." Kali gasped out, before she reached into the humans pocket, and pulled out the Portal Blade. "You should have left this at home." She smirked.

"The Portal Blade?" Luz gasped, before the area in front of them lit up, revealing Belos sitting in a throne that looked like it was made from a giant creatures jaws.

"Ah Lilith, you chose the wrong side." Belos said. "But your metal compatriot is right, on almost everything. I'm gonna petrify you, alongside Eda the Owl Lady. All of you."

Before he could do anything to send them all away, he moved through the fleshy sludge, and evaded an attack of fire and flames that had been sent at him. Looking up, Luz and Kali saw Sapphire as she burned away the fleshy tendrils that were keeping her suspended, before landing on the ground, and standing in front of Kali and Luz defensively.

"My, my, and here I was thinking you were just a stupid animal." Belos said.

With a snap of his fingers, the remaining captured fighters were pulled through the ground of the chamber, as if they'd never been there.

"What did you do with them?" Kali questioned.

"I simply did as I promised, I put them with Edalyn to be petrified alongside her." Belos stated. "You both could prevent that you know. You could set them all free. All you'd have to do, is give me the portal."

"Never." Kali said, trying and failing to get to her feet.

"I wasn't exactly talking to you child." Belos said, as two fleshy tendrils came out of nowhere, and pulled them to the roof. "I'm more interested in the portal door at the moment."

Kali and Sapphire struggled to break free of the restraints holding them. While Sapphire was able to burn them away before, she was unable to do so with the ones that now held her.

"NO." Kali shouted, seeing how Luz was fighting against Belos. "No, leave her alone. Leave Luz alone."

("Kali.") Sapphire began, pulling Kali's attention towards her. ("There is a way we can beat him. A way to replenish your magic as well. But it will require my sacrifice.")

"What are you suggesting Sapphire?" Kali questioned.

("Formation Xero.") Sapphire stated.

"What? No, I can't do that? What about your babies, they'll need their mother." Kali gasped.

("They'll have their mother.") Sapphire said. ("But it won't be me. I know you'll be able to protect, and raise them, just as I would.")

"But Sapphire, I don't…"

("Kali, this isn't up for debate.") Sapphire stated. ("Belos obviously has something evil planned for the human realm, and Earthland. So if my life, is the price to pay for keeping him from getting what he wants, then it's a price I'll gladly pay.")

"Sapphire I…"

("I know, it's painful to say goodbye. But I'd rather give my life for a better tomorrow, then live in fear today.") Sapphire said. ("I know, you'll be a wonderful mother, towards my babies, Kali. I know, you'll raise them right. Now, give me the command.")

Kali just looked at Sapphire, before she hung her head low, tears and snot flowing down her face, as she freed her left arm, clutching the Portal Blade tight, before she opened it, and held her arm out to the side.

"Sapphire." Kali said, no hesitation in her pain filled voice, as she brought the blade to the right side of her throat. "Formation Delta: Etherion!" She stated, Sapphire's body shining an ether blue hue, with her eyes glowing white as the Palisman wrapped her tail around Kali's ankle. "Formation Xero!" She shouted, before quickly digging the blade into her throat, and pulling it straight across to the other side.

~Fairy Tail~

Everyone was going about their own thing, they were enjoy their drinks, chatting it up, but were worried when Natsu's team had been called to aid Kali in the Boiling Isles. Makarov himself was especially worried, as he was taking a drink from his mug, before his eyes widened, and his magic flared, destroying the wooden drinking dish.

"No." He gasped, feeling his chest tighten, before reaching into his coat, and pulling out a small anatomically correct heart shaped object.

The heart was beating, and shining a brilliant shade of ether blue. He hoped to the Gods above that what he felt was nothing more then heartburn, but his hopes were dashed as the heart began to turn to dust.

"Master?" Mira questioned with concern.

"She's doing it." Makarov said. "Kali's using Formation Xero."

"Formation Xero?" Mira asked. "What… what does that do?"

"It's a last resort, a trump card that can only be used once, and it seems all requirements for its use, have been met. The cost for using it is steep, and requires a sacrifice." Makarov said, as he now held nothing more then a pile of ashes in his hand. "Sapphire, is no more."

~Conformatorium~

A bright and blinding flash of light resonated from above the heads of the Emperor, and Luz. The light was so blinding, both fighters were forced to shield their eyes, as the source of it came down in a blinding fury. The silhouette was made of pure light, holding the Portal Blade as it had once again, turned into a Wakizashi.

"No, way." Luz gasped.

The light began breaking apart, dispersing into the air surrounding them, as it revealed Kali, standing tall with Wakizashi Blade in hand, her armor having mended itself, while the red of her gear, having turned royal blue. But what shocked Luz the most, was the changes to Kali she was seeing.

Kali stood tall, and proud, blade in hand as her long red hair, had completely changed, to an azure blue #0039A9 color. Her teeth were bared showing her canines were longer, and sharper, having been turned into fangs, as tears flowed down her face.

"Kali?" Luz gasped.

"Belos." Kali said, the tears still flowing down her face. "I will make you pay, for all the pain and suffering you've done to the people of this world. But most importantly, I will defeat you, and not let Sapphire's sacrifice, be in vein."

(Cue Music… Catch Fire: Jenix)

Pulling the blade up to the side of her head, Kali pulled it back, before she sent herself lunging at Belos, her speed and strength having increased greatly, barely giving Belos the chance to move out of the way.

"This is annoying." Belos said. "You cannot defeat me."

"Never underestimate, the power of a Fairy Tail Wizard." Kali declared, quickly turning around and swinging her sword up to Belos.

The speed and strength Kali was showing, despite having barely been able to stand just a minute ago, was quite shocking to Luz, as she watched in awe at how her friend was actually managing to give Belos a run for his money.

"Thunder Dragon: Talon!" Kali shouted, swinging an upward roundhouse kick at Belos, causing massive damage to several columns once Belos had dodged.

Luz had to hop onto Owlbert and fly away, evading some of the falling debri that would have seriously harmed her, if not kill her.

"Fire Dragon: Iron Fist!" She chanted, throwing a punch with a resounding torrent of flames enveloping Belos, for only a moment before he moved out of the way.

"Are they any other tricks you know? Because this is tiresome." Belos said, gripping Kali in his magic and sending her flying through the air, into several more pillars.

"Kali." Luz gasped.

"Go Luz, get up to the stage and save our friends, our family." Kali stated, picking herself up before charging at Belos, her next attack shocking Luz. "Earth Dragon: Spiraling Lance!"

Spears of stone began sprouting from the ground as they went straight for Belos. The Emperor seemed shocked that Kali was demonstrating this kind of power, but he couldn't put it into words.

"Earth, ice?" Luz gasped.

"Iron Dragon: Spear!" Kali shouted, her forearm turning into a rod of black metal with a lethal tip on the head, before she thrust forward and sent it at the Emperor. This attack managed to chip and crack part of his mask.

"Enough of this." Belos stated, using his magic to restrain Kali. "Give me the Portal Door, or you'll never see Eda the Owl Lady, and this child, ever again."

"No wait, stop." Luz said, before pulling the door from beneath her cloak and hugging it close. "I'm sorry Mama." She cried, before handing it to Belos.

"No!" Kali cried out.

"That's a good girl." Belos said, releasing Kali from his grip over the platform.

"Luz, what did you do?" Kali questioned.

"What I had to." Luz said, joining Kali on the platform before it began to rise.

(End Song…)

"Well I'm not done yet." Kali said, getting to her feet.

"Kali, wait." Luz said.

"Arctic Dragon: Blizzard Roar!" Kali shouted, her cheeks puffing out before she encased Belos and the portal door in a block of ice. "There, that should keep him for a while."

"Get down." Luz said, pulling Kali down.

Nearly the instant after Kali was pulled down, an explosion went off, echoing with a thundering boom, through the caverns of the Conformatorium. Looking over the edge, Kali and Luz saw Belos as he began picking himself up, surrounded by frozen pieces of the Portal Door, and badly wounded, with fires surrounding him.

"I planted paper fire glyphs all over one side of the door. Where he couldn't see them." Luz said.

"Smart." Kali said, as the platform reached the stage. "You handle the cage, I'll handle the petrification device."

"Right." Luz said, as they both began running for their objectives.

Running past the cage, Kali's eyes shrank in horror when she saw that Eda was using herself to shield the others, and was nearly turned to stone.

"NO!" Kali shouted, heading straight for the petrification machine, knocking away Kikimora and the Guards who got in her way. "I already lost one family member today, please Titan, please don't let it be two." She said, grabbing the device in her hands. "I won't quit, I won't stop. I will never, GIVE UP!" She shouted, as her body was filled with immense strength. "Earth Dragon: Diamond Strength!"

As she shouted in anger, and determination, Kali let out a roar that started out with her voice, but soon changed into the resounding roar of a mighty beast, echoing throughout the land and tore the petrification machine out from the ground, and crushed it in her arms with a massive bear hug.

"No." Kikimora shouted, unaware of who was stepping up behind her, before she froze in fear when Luz lit a fire in her palm.

"Free them, now!"

Kikimora did as commanded, undoing the cage. This allowed to Kali and Luz to race towards the others, just as Lilith's healing spell took effect.

"Eda, everyone. You guys okay?" Luz asked.

"As good as I'll ever be." Eda said.

"Kali, what happened to you?" Natsu asked.

"I… I don't wanna talk about it." Kali said, before using her blade to open a portal. "Everyone through the portal, now."

Without wasting any time, everyone in the group raced through the portal, with Kali being the only one remaining as she declared one thing, as she held her blade high.

"Fairy Tail, will be back. An' we will show no mercy, to any who harm one of us."

~The Owl House~

Everyone was relaxed now, they'd all been so terrified, that once the adrenaline rush wore off, they collapsed to the ground.

"Please tell me, it's all over." Gajeel sighed.

"For now." Kali said, the portal closing behind her.

"Okay now spill, what happened to you?" Grey asked.

Kali was silent, before her eyes began filling with tears and she broke down crying.

"Sapphire… We used Formation Xero, and now she's gone." She cried, the tears streaming down her face. "She's now a part of me."

"Kali." Natsu said, before pulling her in for a hug. "I'm gonna miss her too."

"This is all my fault." Luz said, before turning to Eda as she was struggling to maintain control over herself. "Don't worry Eda, I'll run and get you some elixir and…"

"Luz, it's not gonna work." Kali sniffled. "No amount of elixir, can heal Eda from the way she is now."

"But there is something I can do." Lilith said, walking up to Eda and pressing their foreheads together. "With the spell declared, let the pain be shared!"

Both Eda and Lilith were pulled together, their bodies enveloped in a cloud of light, as they floated into the air. Slowly Eda's Owl Beast form began to diminish, before she'd returned to her normal form. Gently falling to the ground, the others watched as Eda and Lilith were standing side by side. Both of them, had a grey stripe in their hair, Eda's in the left, and Liliths in the right, while Eda's left eye, and Lilith's right eye were a silver gray color.

"Eda/Grandma." Luz and Kali shouted, as they ran to Eda and hugged her.

"Oh, it's so good to know you're back the way you always are." Kali said.

"Hey, that's the first time, you've actually called me grandma." Eda pointed out.

"I guess it is." Kali chuckled, before she began crying again, burying her face into Eda's chest.

"It's okay, everything's gonna be all right." Eda said, putting a comforting hand on top of her head.

"Can you still do magic?" Luz asked.

Eda tried doing a light spell, but the circle of magic crumbled to pieces, with a puff of smoke.

"That'd be a no." Gajeel said.

"It'll take some time, to get used to this." Eda stated.

"What about you Lilith?" Grey asked.

"I feel, that I've been weakened as well." Lilith said.

"It's okay." Luz said, pulling a Glyph from her pocket and putting it in Eda's hand. "Kali and I can teach you what we know, and what we don't know, we can learn together."

"Maybe later Luz." Eda said.

"Of course." Luz said, as she put a hand on Kali's shoulder, finding the grieving teen had cried herself to sleep in Eda's arms. "Right now, we need to make sure Kali's okay."

"Something just doesn't add up though." Erza said.

"What do you mean?" Natsu asked, taking Kali into his arms.

"Kali loved Sapphire. They were inseparable, so I highly doubt that Kali, would add a formation to her creation, that would force a sacrifice of this magnitude." Erza said.

"She's right." Grey said. "Kali would never even consider that option a possibility. So the question is, who was the one who instilled Formation Xero into Sapphire?"
