Coven Fairy
"An', that should do it." Kali said, pouring a thin layer of Titans Blood into the mold she carved. "Alright now where is that cork?" She questioned before noticing it was across her workshop. "There you are you little stinker." The teen said, before stretching her arm out to grab it, before it snapped back and she put the cork in, and used Abomination goo into tighten the mold shut. "That should just about do it, now to let it sit."
"Kali, you in here?" Luz asked.
"What's up Luz?" Kali asked.
"I don't wanna interrupt whatever your doing."
"Oh don't worry about that, I just finished." Kali smiled. "These rubber powers are very useful, and practical too. So what can I do for you?"
"Can I borrow your library card. I need it to visit Amity at the library, and see if she can help me with finding something." Luz said.
"Wittebanes journal?" Kali asked.
"Yeah."
"I'll come with. Let's stop by Gus's place on the way, I'm sure he could use a little cheering up, after the whole pixie incident at school with Willow." Kali stated.
"You're right, he could use a friend or two right now." Luz said.
~Gus's House~
"I messed up big time." Gus groaned, laying face down on the ground, ignoring how his crystal ball was going off.
"I'm not reading this." The voice mail said, as it showed King holding a script.
"C'mon King, please?" Gus's voice asked off screen.
"Ugh fine." King groaned, tossing the script. "Is that a six footed pig, or a floating appendage? Why no, it's Gus the illusion master, please leave a message."
"King, bath time." Kali's voice came from the voicemail video.
"No." King cried, running past King before the feed cut to Willow leaving her message.
"Hey Gus, thanks for sending me all those, get well soon illusions." Willow said, drawing Gus's attention to the crystal ball. "But uh…"
"Willow, how you feeling, do you have a fever?" A tiny illusion of Gus asked, hugging her cheek. "Willow, you want me to sing for ya?" Another asked, before doing vocal warm ups on her shoulder. "Willow, is this helping?" A third asked, landing on her head.
"Can you please take them back?" Willow asked, before the call ended.
Gus groaned, before drawing a circle in the air, bringing his illusions back.
"Where's Willow? Why are we here? Did we do bad?" The three Gus illusions questioned, before the actual Gus blew them away like lit candles.
The illusionist was distracted from his self pity, as there was a knock at the door.
"Gustopher! Gusteban. Agustubeth." Luz smiled, trying different nicknames for Gus, while Kali just sighed at her attempts. "Any of those working for you?"
"You need my library card to visit Amity, don't you?" Gus asked.
"Actually, we're using my library card." Kali said. "We just thought we'd invite you to tag along with us, after what happened yesterday, maybe cheer you up a bit."
"Gee, thanks Kali, Luz. That's actually kinda thoughtful of you." Gus said.
"We were also hoping to do a bit of research." Luz said.
"I'd be more then happy to join." Gus stated, closing the door behind him as he followed the two girls. "I could use the distraction. What's the research on?"
"Well, Eda's mom told us we're not the first people from the Human Realm or Earthland to visit the Boiling Isles, or to have lived in Bonesborough." Luz said. "If that's true, then there might be some info on how they got here, from the library."
"Yeah, okay." Gus said. "Looking through old news papers, is about all I'm good for anyway."
"Hey, none of that negative talk." Kali said, smacking Gus upside the head. "You're an amazing person Gus. You just had an off day at school yesterday. We all make mistakes."
"Spill it Gustonimoe, are you okay?" Luz asked, using another nickname for him.
"I've just been thinking." Gus said. "What if it's time for me to explore different kinds of magic?"
"We're all for trying new things, but what's wrong with illusions?" Luz asked.
"Illusions are just so… you know?" Gus asked, before the ground shook with a monstrous roar echoing through the air.
"What was that?" Luz questioned.
"My guess is, that Slither Beast." Kali stated, pointing to the Slither Beast that broke free of its bindings. Kali's attention was drawn to the ground bellow the bridge, causing her to gasp as there was a child with a balloon walking in its path.
Jumping down from the bridge, Kali was determined to stop the beast.
"Gum-Gum: PISTOL!" Kali shouted, throwing the attack at the Slither Beast, just as she landed on the ground in front of the child.
The attack struck the Slither Beast square in the face, and sent it sliding back, before it was snagged and restrained again.
"You okay kid?" Kali asked.
"I'm fine. You're that nice lady from story time at the library."
"An' you must be Braxas, nice to know you remember me from Amity's story time." Kali smiled.
"Son, are you okay?" The boys father asked, picking him up.
"Yes daddy." Braxas said.
"Wrath?" Kali asked, realizing it was the Warden in civilian clothes.
"Huh?" Wrath questioned, before looking to Kali. "Oh, it's you."
"Good seeing you again." Kali tsked.
"Same."
"Daddy, why are you glaring at the nice lady who saved me?" Braxas asked.
"It's, complicated son." Wrath said.
"Your daddy tried to force my grandma on a date after stalking her, and attacked me in anger when she refused." Kali said, talking cutely to Braxas.
"Daddy, that's not nice." Braxas said.
"No, I… wait, I mean…"
"Have fun trying to explain that to your son." Kali said, walking off with a smile on her face.
"Hey you."
Kali stopped, and looked to see four students in what looked like school uniforms, coming up to her.
"Can I help you?" Kali asked.
"What you did was awesome. Did you use Abomination goo that matched your skin tone?" One of the students asked.
"Nope." Kali said, before pulling at the inside of her cheek. "My body's just made of rubber."
"That's so cool."
"We're interested in you. Wanna join our team?" The girl asked.
"Let me guess." Kali said. "Abomination, Plant, and Earth tracks at Glandys right?"
"How'd you guess?" The Plant track kid asked.
"I'm Captain of the Grudgby Team at Hexside." Kali said. "An' your fourth member who's hiding from me is Mattholomule, Construction track right?"
"You two have met?" The purple haired girl asked.
"Oh, we've met alright." Kali said.
"What did you do Matty?"
"Well I…"
"He called me Titan Tits, in front of the Human Appreciation Society, on his first day at Hexside." Kali said. "An' then he tried escaping Detention, but destroyed it. To which I'm paying for the repairs."
"Matty."
"Not cool man."
"Totally, not cool."
"Oh come on." Mattholomule groaned.
"So, despite what he's done. Are you interested in joining our group?" The purple haired girl asked. "I'm Bria, this is Angmar and Gavin."
"I'll pass." Kali said. "I've got a lot on my plate. Classes, Grudgby, Carvings, Bounty Hunting, and now researching a way to get to the Human Realm."
"That's too bad." Bria said.
"Wait, can I join?" Gus asked, appearing out of nowhere behind Kali.
"Seriously Gus? They're Glandys students, and Mattholomule is with them." Kali stated, taking Gus by the wrist and walking off. "We're leaving."
"Wait, have you ever heard of the Galderstones?" Bria asked, showing them a map Mattholomule handed to her.
"I've heard of them. Powerful relics, that can be used for good or evil. Legend says they're called Galderstones, is because they were mined from the Titans Gallbladder. They're also the power source that acts as a heart for Grimm Walkers." Kali said. 'I actually have a few of them in my workshop, but they don't need to know that.'
"You're both Hexside students, right? We could use the extra strength." Bria said.
"I think you should go Gus." Luz said, appearing out of thin air.
"An invisibility spell, really Luz?" Kali asked.
"Kali and I can handle the research on our own. An' if you think this is something that'll make you cheer up after what happened yesterday, then who are we to stand in your way?" Luz smiled.
"I'm against it, but I can't really stop Gus from doing what he wants. It's his choice to make." Kali said.
"Augustus can't come." Mattholomule said. "He's just an illusionist, he'll only hold us back."
"Illusions can come in real handy." Kali said. "He can create an illusion to create an escape opening if you're attacked by a monster, in the forearm forest."
"How'd you know that's where we're going?" Bria asked.
"I can read a map." Kali stated.
"She does make a good point though." Gavin said.
"I'm up for it." Bria said.
"Have fun out there Gus, but be safe too." Luz said.
"I will." Gus stated, heading off with the Glandys students.
~Library~
"Let's see here." Luz began as she and Kali searched through old records, typing in human. "Mystery vendor floods market with dangerous human goods?"
"Grandma certainly has her reputation." Kali stated, searching further into the results. "I found something."
"What'd you find?" Luz asked.
"Human resident, Philip Wittebane donates personal diary to local library." Kali read. "Alright, we've found the journal, now we just gotta locate the actual thing."
"Let's see if Amity knows." Luz said.
The two logged off the crystal balls, and headed for where they knew Amity would be. Creeping closer to the Kids Corner, they peeked around the corner, seeing Amity negotiating with a little girl, who most likely had her hair tie, if her messy downed hair was anything to go by.
"Come on. Give it back." Amity said.
"No." The girl said.
"If you give me back my hairband, I'll ready you whatever book you want tomorrow." Amity said.
"Finally." The girl gasped, giving the hairband back to Amity. "I can learn how to summon the Dark Lord."
"Should we be concerned with that?" Kali asked, before she and Luz were blushing at how Amity looked with her hair down.
"Hey Luz." A couple of familiar voices said.
"Ah, Ed, Em." Luz gasped, twisting around.
"Edric." Kali sighed, turning to look at him, with an annoyed glare on her face.
"Oh, Kali hi." Ed said nervously. "It's… been a while, hasn't it?"
"About as long as it's been, since you broke up with me via text." Kali stated. "We weren't even an actual couple, and you decided to shoot me down, before even giving me a chance."
"Smooth move Romeo." Em stated, elbowing Ed in the ribs.
"I'm sorry okay, I should have been straight up with you, face to face." Ed groaned.
"So, are you here to pick up Amity?" Luz asked.
"Nah, looks like you two got that covered." Em stated.
"I'm here for skincare tips." Ed added. "I have a date tonight."
"Really?" Kali huffed, turning around.
"Shouldn't have mentioned that in front of Kali, dweeb." Em stated. "If it makes you feel any better Kali, he accidentally texted a poem to their mom."
"Really?" Kali asked with a laugh. "Okay that makes me feel a bit better."
"Please don't tell people that." Ed stated.
"Are they bothering you two again?" Amity asked, making herself known, shocking Luz. "I know how you're standing on your relationship with Ed, Kali."
"Nah, Em's fine. It's Ed that's the bother." Kali said, blushing a bit when both girls saw Amity. "Luz and I actually came to see you, and here you are." Her words made Amity blush, and cross her arms nervously.
"Edric your face, it's exploding with horrific pustules." Em stated, grabbing Ed's face.
"I'm pretty sure that's just his normal face." Kali stated.
"Ouch." Ed said, not liking the insult.
"We have to fix it before your date, or you'll get dumped." Em added, before pushing Ed away from the trio, leaving them alone.
"So, what did you wanna talk about?" Amity asked.
"We were actually wanting to ask you if you could help us find a certain book." Kali said, showing Amity the info about it. "Hundreds of years ago there was a human named Philip Wittebane, living in Bonesborough. An' he donated his diary to this library. We think it may hold a clue to how he was able to travel to and from the Human Realm."
"My mom probably thinks I'm missing right now. I have to get back to her, as soon as possible." Luz stated.
"Well, something this old would be kept in, the Forbidden Stacks." Amity said, pointing them in the direction of the door leading to the forbidden books.
The door was gigantic with three stone figures, with giant eyeballs for heads, sitting guard at the top of the doors.
"Only Malphas, the Master Librarian, is allowed in here." Amity said.
"No te preocupes. Todo va a salir bien." Luz said. "Like my mom always said. I'm sure I can find another way."
"Hey wait. I never said I wasn't going to help." Amity stated.
"What are you getting at Amity?" Kali asked.
"My staff card should be able to open those doors." Amity said. "But once we're inside, you have to listen to everything I say. If we're caught, I could lose my job."
"You won't lose your job. I promise." Luz said, taking Amity's hand.
There was a moment of silence, before Luz and Amity noticed what had happened, and blushed when they separated.
"Well, let's not waste any time." Amity said.
"Or, we could do the smart thing and actually ask for Malphas's help in retrieving the diary." Kali said. "I'm sure he'd be more then up for allowing us in if we just explain the situation."
"You sure that'll work?" Amity asked.
"I'm positive it's worth a shot." Kali stated. "Wait here, I'll go find him."
Kali ran off for the front receptionists desk, wanting to find Malphas quick.
"Excuse me, can I speak with Malphas please?" Kali asked.
"What is your reason for wanting to speak with the Master Librarian?" The receptionist asked.
"I need to ask him about a book, that might be within the Forbidden Stacks. It's really important that I find this particular journal that was donated to the library, maybe around four hundred years ago." Kali said, showing her Luz's sketch of the journal.
"Give me one minute." The reception said, turning to the crystal ball, before turning back to Kali. "What's your name?"
"Kali D. Clawthorne." Kali said. 'If I have the Gum-Gum Fruit powers, I might as well shorten my middle name to just D.' She thought.
"Just one second." The receptionist said, turning back to the Crystal Ball.
Kali just stood there, waiting for the receptionist to get back to her while she called Malphas. It wasn't a long wait, whatsoever, before the receptionist came back, holding a card out to Kali.
"Malphas has authorized you and anyone you're with, permission to enter the Forbidden Stacks." She said, as Kali took the card. "This is valid, only for today."
"Thank you." Kali smiled, as she went running back to the Forbidden Stacks. "Hey Luz, Amity I got permission to…"
Kali stopped, when she saw the doors to the Forbidden Stacks were open, and both girls were gone.
"Luz, what the hell did you do?" Kali questioned, rushing in.
Looking around, she saw that the Forbidden Stacks were like a maze, while Luz and Amity were both nowhere to be seen. Looking around, Kali sighed when she realized she was not gonna be able to find them.
"Are you Ms. Clawthorne perhaps?"
Kali jumped when someone snuck up behind her, and she turned around to see, a large, humanoid, bird-like demon towering over her in size, with bluish-gray skin, a hunched back, and a bird-like face with glowing yellow eyes. Kali saw two tassels hanging off his beak and a pair of large, gray wings on his back. She saw he had two small horns on his head, while noticing he was riding on top of a large book with the word "Staff" on its spine. He wore a black cloak with a purple top, along with a pair of reading half-moon glasses on his beak. Like most demons she saw, his hands were comprised of four clawed digits, while like a majority of the library staff, he wore a gold medallion with a symbol of a book.
"Ah, yes that's me." Kali said.
"I'm Malphas the Master Librarian. Did anyone else come with you?" Malphas asked.
"Yeah, Luz Noceda and Amity Blight. Amity showed us the way here, but Luz got a little too excited and ran ahead of me, so Amity went to make sure she didn't break anything." Kali said, coming up with an excuse on the fly, knowing Amity would get in trouble if he knew the truth.
"There isn't really anything here for someone to break." Malphas said.
"I meant Amity went after her to make sure Luz didn't break any of her bones." Kali stated.
"Ah, that makes sense. She's a rambunctious one is she?" Malphas asked.
"That she is." Kali said.
"She must really be interested in this book you're searching for. It was a journal donated by a human, wasn't it?" Malphas asked, leading Kali through the isles of shelves.
"Yes, but more then that, we believe the journal we're looking for holds clues to creating a portal that leads to the human realm." Kali said. "If it does, then Luz finally has a way to return home, after the last portal was destroyed."
"I see, so you're doing this to help her return home. You are such a good friend to have Ms. Clawthorne." Malphas said.
"Call me Kali." She said.
"By the way, if it's not too much trouble, could I ask a small favor in return for allowing you entrance to the Forbidden Stacks?" Malphas asked.
"Depends on what that favor is." Kali stated.
"It's nothing serious I assure you." Malphas smiled, reaching into one of his robes sleeves, and pulling out a book. It was a copy of her book, Dawn of the Sorceress Athena. "Would you mind autographing my copy of your book? I'm a big fan."
"Sure thing." Kali smiled, taking the book, and her pen before signing the inside of the front cover.
"If you don't mind me asking, when will the next volume be coming out?" Malphas asked.
"I don't know to be honest." Kali said. "I had a falling out with my last illustrator, so I've been on the hunt for a replacement."
"It was Amity's older brother wasn't it?" Malphas asked, recalling Edric's name on the cover of the book, next to Kali's name.
"It was. To be honest, I should have kept my work and social lives separate, but that's what I get for acting like a fool." Kali said.
"Love is a fickle thing." Malphas said.
"YOU LITTLE RAT!" Luz's voice echoed out.
"Seems like they found the journal." Malphas said. "Something must have happened to it though. Let's check on them, and see what happened."
Grabbing Kali, Malphas used a teleportation spell that instantly brought them to Luz and Amity's location.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Kali asked, surprising them that they were there.
"Malphas, it's not what it looks like I…"
"I'm aware Amity." Malphas said. "You just followed after the human to make sure she didn't get hurt. But please, next time stay together as a group."
Luz and Amity were confused at what he was saying, before they looked at Kali, and saw she was discretely giving them the, zip it, gesture as she stood behind Malphas a bit.
"Right, of course sir." Amity said.
"So, what happened to the journal?" Malphas asked.
"An' echo mouse got to it. The mouse ate all the pages." Amity stated, holding the journal and the mouse with the skull head, to Malphas.
"Well that is a problem." Malphas said. "I do apologize, but it seems there's not really anything I can do about the journal at this point."
"Let me try something real quick." Kali said, pulling the Titan Quill from her bag.
Taking the echo mouse from the journal, and putting it on her head, Kali drew a circle around the journal, encasing it in a reality altering bubble. Bringing up the state of the journal, Kali began to work on restoring it, reversing time on the journal, as the pages slowly began to regenerate, with the journal looking brand new. After inspecting she had done everything right, Kali created a copy of the journal, and released both from the bubble.
"There, now the library can keep the original, and we can keep the copy I made." Kali said.
"Incredible." Malphas said, looking through the journal. "You completely restored the journal to a state of being practically brand new. What kind of magic did you use?"
"I just used the Titans Quill to reverse time on the pages. Then I left the pages alone, and reversed time on the cover and bindings. So now the book is stronger then ever, while the pages still look super old." Kali explained.
"Amazing. Hypothetically, if I were to hire you, would you be able to do this to all our books that are falling apart?" Malphas asked.
"My schedules pretty booked as is. I don't know where I'm gonna find the time to…" Kali paused, when a sudden wave of nausea washed over her.
"Kali, are you okay?" Amity asked, noticing how Kali was hugging her stomach.
"I… don't feel so good actually." Kali groaned.
"Okay, no need to panic." Malphas said, before using a teleportation spell to bring them to the front of the library right outside. "This better?"
"A bit, thanks Malphas." Kali said, sitting down on the steps.
"Amity, why don't you take Kali home for the day? You've done more then enough work and your shift ends in ten minutes anyway." Malphas said.
"Are you sure?" Amity asked.
"I am, and be sure she gets home safe." Malphas smiled, as he turned to head back into the library. "Take care Kali, give some thought to my offer."
"Right, I will." Kali groaned, before the doors closed behind them.
"What was Malphas talking about earlier when he said Amity followed me to make sure I was safe?" Luz asked.
"You two bone heads went on into the Forbidden Stacks before I got back. I had gotten permission from him to meet with him, and I had to think of an excuse as to why you weren't with me, but already in the Forbidden Stacks. So I told him you got overexcited and ran ahead, and Amity followed you to make sure you didn't hurt yourself." Kali said. "I knew Amity would lose her job if he caught you, so I lied to him to make sure that didn't happen."
"Don't go anywhere, I'll get you something to settle your stomach before we head off." Amity said, running off.
"That was a nice thing you did Kali." Luz said.
"Well, how would it have looked if you had cost Amity her job Luz?" Kali asked.
"I get what you're saying." Luz said. "So, is this nausea normal. Does it have something to do with the babies?"
"Yeah." Kali sighed. "Pregnant witches tend to have a daily limit on how much magic they can use. The limit isn't a set amount, and if they go over it, they can get nauseous, just like I am right now. Using the Titans Quill was draining magic from me like crazy in order to restore that journal, so I must have gone over my limit."
"I'm sorry." Luz said.
"It's not your fault Luz." Kali huffed. "I just gotta be careful not to overdo it, and go past my limit. Though finding out what my limit each day is gonna be kinda tricky."
"Here." Amity said, coming back with a bubbling drink. "I think this is the human equivalent to, gingerale."
"How do you know about gingerale?" Luz asked as Kali took the drink.
"It's right there in the authors notes of Good Witch Azura3, that she drinks gingerale to settle her mind and stomach, whenever she gets an upset stomach during writers block." Amity said. "We don't have that here, but this should be the Boiling Isles equivalent."
"Thanks Amity." Kali sighed, after drinking it. "How much do I owe you?"
"Consider it a first step in paying you back for saving me from being fired." Amity smiled.
"Alright." Kali chuckled.
"Now, let's get you home." Luz said.
"Actually, let's take her to my place." Amity said. "My mom's out of town for a while, and won't be back for a couple days. She can rest there for a few hours, while she recovers. An' you can come by to pick her up later. Plus, it's closer then the Owl House."
"Sounds like a plan." Luz smiled.
"Okay, up we go." Amity said, as she and Luz help Kali to her feet.
As they began heading for Blight Manor, none of them were aware of the eyes, spying on them from the shadows of the stairs, before the one they belonged to, vanished without a trace.
~Sometime Later: Blight Manor~
"Today was a close call." Amity sighed, as she sat in front of her big sister, who was brushing her hair, while Edric was looking at himself in the mirror. "Ever since Luz came here, things have just gotten confusing. It's the same with Kali, but even worse. I'm thinking things, I've never thought before when I'm around the both of them, and I'm feeling things I never used to feel. An' again, it's not just around Luz, it's Kali too."
"Is that so bad?" Emira asked. "You weren't even happy before." She said, before looking to her brother who was picking at a zit. "Ed, don't pick, you'll make it worse."
"Too late!" Ed stated.
"I know, I'm happy now, but what if this happens again, and I actually lose my job this time?" Amity sighed.
"Hey, your roots are growing out." Em said, rubbing the top of Amity's head. "Do you, wanna dye your hair again?"
Amity thought it over for a minute, before she came to a decision.
"Actually, could we maybe try something else?" Amity asked.
Downstairs, Kali sighed as she leaned back into the couch. She didn't know why she accepted Amity's invitation to rest at Blight Manor, but she did. The teen mom-to-be, was brought out of her pondering when she heard a familiar voice speak above her.
"Comfortable?"
"Gah." Kali gasped, sitting up and twisting around to see Alador standing at the end of the couch. "Mr. Blight."
"Just call me Alador." He said. "What brought you here this day? You know my wife doesn't approve of you being friends with Amity."
"Well, I was feeling nauseous earlier, so Amity said I could rest here for a while since Mrs. Blight is out of town. Luz should be here to pick me up in a bit." Kali explained.
"Nauseous?" Alador asked, pondering for a moment. "Hold on a second."
Kali just sat there in confusion, as Alador left, wondering what he was up to, before he came back with a cup of tea and gave it to Kali.
"Here, this should help with nausea." Alador said.
"Thank you." Kali stated, before sipping the tea. "This is actually quite good."
"Ginger from the human realm. It's hard to come by these days since Edalyn is unable to go to the human realm anymore, but Ginger tea tends to help with pregnancy related nausea, for witches at least."
Kali had to force herself not to do a spit take, as Alador mentioned pregnancy.
"I-I'm sorry, what?" Kali asked.
"Oh, no need to hide it from me." Alador said. "I'm fully aware of your pregnancy. It's why the Abomaton 2.0 went from lethal, to stun mode during the demonstration. It happened, right as you showed up."
"I see." Kali said.
"So, is it Edric's?" Alador asked.
"No, he and I weren't even an official thing, before he broke our relationship off."
"I see." Alador said. "Then whose is it?"
"I… I had a Palisman. Her name was Sapphire. She was pregnant, and I was forced to use, something that required her sacrifice. I wouldn't have used it if I'd known she was still pregnant, but she said she'd given birth, but she didn't and… now I carry the children, she carried."
"I see." Alador said. "I assume that, your eggs, were used for a physical base to allow the babies to take root, and grow inside you?"
"Yeah. The magic that transferred them to me, is what made them mine, biologically." Kali said, gently rubbing her flat stomach. "To be honest, I don't even know their genders yet."
"I see."
"I was nauseous earlier, because I had gone past my limit of magic for the day. But Amity isn't aware of the babies." Kali said.
"An' why is that?" Alador asked.
"Because I'm scared to tell her." Kali stated. "I don't know why, but even when I was with Ed, I just felt so, so happy around Amity, and I've been saying and doing stupid things around her, and Luz the last few days, since I helped rescue Luz from the demonstration."
"I see." Alador said. "If you want my opinion, just be honest with Mittens. She's a smart, but kind girl. She'll understand."
"Really?" Kali asked.
"An' just between us, Mittens actually has a prosthetic pregnant belly she wears, when she thinks no ones around to catch her." Alador said, with a sly smile.
"Really?" Kali asked, sounding shocked.
"She goes the whole nine yards when she's the only one home, and waddles around the house, pretending to be straining to carry her pregnancy, with maternity wear and everything." Alador said. "She even has her favorite outfit she puts on over the belly."
"How do you know this?" Kali asked.
"Mittens isn't aware that I had to install security cameras into certain areas of the house." Alador said. "But I make sure Odalia doesn't get her hands on the footage. I think it's best to let her have at least some fun of her own. But what you're describing you feel when you're around her and your human friend, well it sounds to me like you're in love."
"Love?" Kali questioned. "No, no, no, no, no! There's no way Luz or Amity would reciprocate those feelings towards me, not when I'm gonna be chained down with children pretty soon."
"I wouldn't be so quick to judge." Alador said. "Now, I believe your friend should be here to pick you up soon."
Kali nodded, as Alador got up and took the empty tea cup. Kali couldn't help but feel, like she'd actually gotten some fatherly advice from Amity's dad. She was brought out of her thoughts again, as the doorbell rang.
"That's Luz, she's here." Amity said, as she made her way down the stairs.
"Whoa." Kali said, seeing Amity sporting a new hair style.
Amity opened the door, and saw Luz petting the echo mouse that Kali had brought along with her.
"Hey Amity, I'm here to pick up Kali and… whoa." Luz said.
Amity's hair style was different then before. Her hair was shorter, with the youngest Blight girl having dyes it lavender, with brown hair visible on the undercut at her temples.
"It's different." Luz said.
"You look incredible Amity." Kali said, coming to the door.
"Oh really?" Amity asked with a blush. "Mom always liked it green. I thought I could use a change."
"It looks, really good." Kali smiled.
"I see you kept the echo mouse that ate the journal." Amity said. "We deal with them a lot at work."
"Yeah. After you and Kali showed me how it can give me knowledge, I decided, I'd like to keep the little guy as a pet. I figured while Kali worked on the portal via the journal front, I could work on it, by getting information from the mouse, via the video like stories it shows." Luz smiled, looking at the mouse, petting its back. "I hope that we can become good friends."
Amity was stunned to see Luz acting like this. She was making friends with a little creature, it just blew Amity's mind how she was capable of befriending anything she met.
"Don't worry, you always have a way, of sneaking into peoples hearts." Amity said, planting a kiss on Luz's cheek.
This sudden act surprised both Luz and Kali. Neither of them were expecting Amity to do that, and when she realized what she did, the Blight girl began to panic.
"Bold move sister." Kali heard Edric say, from the second floor, as he and Emira were spying on them.
"Uh, okay. Good to see you. Farewell forever." Amity said, turning around and rushing back into her house. "Why did I do that? Why'd I do that? Why'd I do that? Why'd I do that?" She repeated as she closed the doors behind her.
Luz just stood there, staring at the doors, before she fell to her knees, echo mouse still in hand.
"I get the feeling, things aren't gonna go the way Alador said they would." Kali sighed, feeling a little upset that Luz was the only one, who got a kiss.

SPYRO101: I had thought about giving Luz the ability to travel between worlds, but what fun would that have been, and how dull would it have made the rest of the adventures?
