Coven Fairy
"I need time, to set up some equipment." Mr. X said, putting down a box with, FBI Stuff, written on one side, on the lab counter in the chemistry lab. "Anne, can you and your friend do recon? Make sure, we weren't followed."
"You can count on us X." Anne said.
"I'm going too." Kali said, getting up from her chair, before she was pushed back down, by Mrs. Boonchuy. "Hey."
"You are not going anywhere young lady." Mrs. Boonchuy said with a stern expression on her face. "You have the health and safety of your child to think about."
"Children." Kali huffed. "It's twins."
"Even more reason for you to remain seated." Mr. X said. "I might be FBI, where the job requires you to be ruthless and cold, but even I would never be able to forgive myself if something were to happen to cause a miscarriage."
"They're too far along for that." Kali said. "My leotard is enchanted with a special charm that keeps my stomach looking flat. It's harmless to the babies, but keeps them safe as well. Grime even hit me in the stomach with that giant hammer of his."
Mr. X, and Mrs. Boonchuy looked to Grime, with looks of disdain on their expressions.
"What? She literally told me to do it." Grime said.
"The point is, my leotard, is strong enough to protect my babies, without sacrificing my mobility, of getting rid of my ability to fight unhindered." Kali said. "I can't just sit around, and be useless. I have to do something to help."
"You can help, by staying put, and keeping our anxiety levels as low as possible. We don't wanna be worrying about you as well." Mr. X said. "Or you can help keep that polliwog from creating a nuclear warhead that'll destroy us all. She just went into the school's metal shop."
"Polly will be fine. She doesn't know how to make a nuclear warhead." HP said. "Whatever that is."
"So essentially, I'm stuck in this chair until it's all over, because I'm pregnant?" Kali asked.
"Yes, that's pretty much it." Mr. X said. "In fact, we'd feel a lot better, if you took shelter somewhere far away from ground zero battle zone."
"But I…"
"No buts. We don't wanna be responsible for your heartache if you lose those babies you're carrying." Mr. X stated.
"I brought the food." Mr. Boonchuy said, coming into the science lab with multiple servings of food.
"Thanks Dear. Sorry I wasn't able to help. I was busy making sure this one stayed in her seat." Mrs. Boonchuy said, looking to Kali.
"It's fine. After all, the children she carries, will hold the future in their hands." Mr. Boonchuy said, as he opened the preserved dishes.
"Please, eat something." Mrs. Boonchuy said, handing Kali a plate of food. "It shouldn't be so spicy it'll trigger labor."
"Well, I guess I could eat." Kali said, accepting the plate.
"So, know anywhere far from ground zero that you might be able to go to?" Mr. X asked.
"Well, I could go to Gravesfield."
"Gravesfield Connecticut?" Mr. X questioned. "You know a lot about our world for not being from here."
"The Boiling Isles considers the Human Realm to be a myth. My grandma, believe it or not, actually sells human junk in the market as human treasures." Kali said. "But there is a human on the Boiling Isles right now. She's in a similar situation that Anne was in, when she first arrived in Amphibia."
"Anne told you about that?" Sprig asked.
"No, I just kinda figured it out from all the bits of information I gathered." Kali said.
"So what are you doing to help your human friend return?" Mr. X asked.
"Well, I was working on a portal blade, made from crystallized Titans Blood that would open up a breach to the Human Realm." Kali stated. "But it started glowing three different colors, and I found myself falling through the skies of Amphibia as soon as I grabbed it."
"Interesting." Mr. X said. "What got her trapped on the Boiling Isles in the first place?"
"Does the name, Phillip Wittebane ring any bells?" Kali asked.
"He's one of the two brothers from Gravesfield's Witch Hunting lore about the elder brother meeting a witch, and the younger brother going after him." Mr. X said. "What about him?"
"He's currently living in the Boiling Isles, and goes by the name Belos now. He is over four hundred years old, and has managed to live this long, by lengthening his longevity through a means of consuming the souls of Palismen." Kali said. "I don't know what he wants with the Boiling Isles, but his plans involved the Human Realm somehow. So Luz destroyed the only means for her to get home, the Portal Door, and trapped herself, and Belos there."
"What kind of power does he have on the Boiling Isles?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.
"He's managed to name himself Emperor. An' 90% of the Boiling Isles, follows his word like they're gospel." Kali stated.
"Given the timeline you've put in, it's safe to assume he's from an era of Witch Hunters. Legend goes, that the Brothers Wittebane, practiced witch hunting as a means to try and fit into Gravesfield, after having lost both their parents to some sort of illness that eradicated their old home." Mr. X said.
"Which means his plans, probably involve some sort of mass genocide." Mr. Boonchuy said. "You're dealing with an Andrias of your own."
"Then it's safe to assume, Luz did the right thing by destroying the portal door." Kali said.
"There's more about this Luz, you're not telling us, isn't there?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked. "Something personal."
"No there isn't." Kali said, turning away with a blush.
"Oh, there totally is." Sprig said.
"Little frog, leave her be." Mr. X said. "It's obvious she doesn't wanna talk about one of her crushes, she's trying to hide."
"Oh come on, am I that easy to read?" Kali questioned, putting her empty plate down.
"I'm a super spy dear. There's little you can hide from me." Mr. X smiled. "But I will give you some advice, before you go. Just be honest with those you have feelings for, and if things don't work out, then they weren't right for you to begin with."
"But what about, this?" Kali asked, gesturing to her stomach.
"Becoming a parent is a beautiful experience. Hell, back in Biblical times, it was natural for a girl to move out, and start her own family at the age of fourteen. So if they can't accept you, for every part of you, children and all, then that's another reason they weren't right for you." Mr. X stated.
"One thing before you go." Mrs. Boonchuy said, as Anne and Sasha came back into the science lab. "Can you show us how far along you really are?"
"I'd have to expose my chest to do that." Kali blushed.
"Okay all boys, or straight males, out of here." Anne said. "Give us some privacy."
"I'm not straight, but I'm also certain she's not gonna feel comfortable with me here, so I'm gonna move out to the hall real quick." Mr. X said with a knowing smile, before Sasha closed the door behind him.
"Okay, now that it's just us females, can you please show us?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.
"I'm quite curious as to the gestational habits of mammalian animals as well." Olivia said.
"Okay fine." Kali huffed, removing her jacket. "But just this once."
After tossing her jacket onto the chair she was sitting on, Kali lifted the straps of the leotard she was wearing, and pulled them down over her body, revealing her actual bust size, before she revealed just how big her belly was, as one of her babies kicked, showing she looked full term with twins.
"Oh my, you're so big." Mrs. Boonchuy said. "An' your skin is so smooth and blemish free. How do you maintain such a healthy glow?"
"I know, it's amazing." Anne said, as they rubbed her belly.
"It kinda helps that my body is made of rubber." Kali blushed, her arms covering her chest. "But even though they've stopped growing, my body still has to let them gestate for a while, before they can come out."
"Who's the father, do you know?" Anne asked. "Or was the pregnancy caused by… other circumstances?"
"Well…"
"Who's the jackass that did this?" Sasha questioned, brandishing her swords. "Take me to the Boiling Isles and I'll cut them to pieces."
"No, no. It's not anything like that." Kali said. "The truth is… how I became pregnant, is a bit of a long, and sad story."
~Later~
"Oh, they cried so much after hearing the story." Kali sighed, flying through the air on Araña's staff. "I mean, I get that it was a heart wrenching story, but they barely know me. I don't understand why they'd get so worked up over something about someone they only met on the same day."
Careful as to avoid doing anything that would draw attention to her, Kali touched down in the forest near the shack that the portal door had been connected to. Looking around the area, Kali couldn't help but smile, when she saw a tree that she'd left a carving of a tribal dragon head in the wood.
"I remember this tree." Kali smiled as Araña crawled down her arm, and into her bag. "I wanted to commemorate my first visit here, so I carved this emblem into the wood." She said, before putting a hand to her belly. "Someday I hope to show this to the two of you as well. I based it off Sapphire. I even showed it to Grandma when I helped her sell all her Hexis Holdem cards to that weird museum guy."
Moving from the forest, Kali decided to go through town, to see how Gravesfield was handling the invasion happening in LA. To her surprise, the people were handling it pretty well, and no body was panicking whatsoever.
"Huh, I would have thought people were gonna freak out a bit… more?" Kali paused, when she saw a familiar human girl, dressed very differently then she normally looked, walking into a café with another, older woman with the same ethnicity, wearing glasses. "Luz?"
Carefully, Kali walked into the café, and spotted the girl and woman having a nice chat while they waited for their drinks. When she moved past them, to order her own drink, she caught the familiar scent of a creature, she wouldn't have expected to find in the Human Realm.
"Oh, it's so nice that your teachers are finally showing some gratitude for your creativity." Camila Noceda smiled.
"I know Mama, I guess going to that camp was what I needed." 'Luz' said with her own smile.
'That's not Luz. But what is she doing with Luz's mom?' Kali thought.
"Hi there, what can I get ya?" The barista asked.
After making her order, Kali sat at the table closest to them, and pulled Terry out of her bag. Signalling for him to remain quiet, as they were in the human realm, Kali began typing out the sequel for her book, while also listening in on their conversation.
"I just wish I could have helped you better. After losing your father to his cancer, sending you to a camp was the last thing I'd ever want." Camila said.
"I know, but you did what you thought was right for me." 'Luz' stated.
'If I remember correctly, Luz actually compared that camp to some sort of camp, run by something called a Nazi. I don't know much about that, or what a Nazi is, sounds horrible. But I do know, given how this impostor looks, it's clear to see they definitely took Luz's place in going to that camp, and took over Luz's life here in the Human Realm.' Kali thought. 'I gotta find a way to get alone with that Basilisk and find out what she wants with Luz's mom.'
"So, what do you think's going on in LA?" Camilla asked. "Is that invasion real, or a hoax?"
"I'd say it's real." 'Luz' said. "The feed's live, and there's no way they could add those kinds of special affects, at least in that quantity, when it's a live broadcast."
'The attack on LA. I need to find a way to get back into the fight.' Kali thought.
"Psst, Kali." Terry whispered. "Why aren't you fighting?"
"Because Mr. X, won't let a pregnant girl fight in such a dangerous battle." Kali whispered.
"Whoa, you're preggo? Congrats, but can't you just make something to hold your pregnancy?" Terry asked.
"What do you mean?" Kali inquired.
"You built that glove that removes Sigil Magic right? If you can do that, can't you just make something to magically store you pregnancy in until you're done fighting?" Terry asked.
Kali thought about it for a second, before she pulled out a piece of paper, and got started on making the design, right away.
"Terry, you are a genius."
~LA~
"Here you go, Mrs. Newt, careful with that safety." Mr. X said, handing a blaster to Yunnan.
"The what now?" Yunnan asked, before accidentally blasting a hole into the roof of the school, by firing off a shot. "Oh, I like this." She smiled.
"Let me just give you a quick rundown of how this weapon works." Mr. X said, before there was a loud metallic stomping sound.
"Introducing, Frobo 2.0…" Polly said, cheerfully as she introduced the new Frobo, with a pink, purple, white, and gold color scheme.
"Fabulous color scheme." Mr. X said, as he, Yunnan, and Olivia gasped at the sight of Frobo.
"Complete with drink dispenser and cup holder." Polly smiled.
Off in the back, Sprig was sitting on one of the vacant lab tables, and pulled out an old musty envelope from his pocket.
"Whatcha got there boy?" HP questioned.
"It's the blank sheet of paper we found in that secret room." Sprig said. "I feel like it's important, but I just can't figure out how."
"It's madness out here folks, I tell ya madness." A new reporter said, as the television was still tuned into the News Channel.
"Ugh, the quicker we fix this mess, the quicker things can go back to normal." Sprig said.
"Normal?"
"Yeah you know, Anne and us just hanging out. Monster of the week stuff, yadda, yadda." Sprig said, missing how HP gained a look of unease.
"Sprig, don't you think Anne has to go back to her life after all this?" HP asked. "Some things are bound to change, they always do."
"Oh Hop Pop, nothing will change. Anne will always be a big part of my life." Sprig said.
"Of course she will." HP said, smiling gently as he pat Sprig on the back.
"Okay, we got done doing a second round through the school. Still no one has followed us, so gather around everybody." Anne said, as they came back into the science lab. "Here's the plan. Mom, Dad, and Mr. X, will help me and the Plantars fight off the robots, and save any remaining civilians."
"Yeah." The Boonchuy parents cheered.
"Meanwhile, Grime, Yunnan, Olivia and I will take Joe Sparrow up, to infiltrate the castle." Sasha added. "The box will be too heavily guarded, but Olivia thinks we can sneak in and turn off the force field protecting the castle."
"An' give you Earthlings a fighting chance." Grime said, holding up a jug of water, his face red from the spice in Mrs. Boonchuys cooking.
"Where's Kali?" Sprig asked. "She's one of our heavy hitters."
"She's also pregnant, and at risk of miscarriage if she takes on one too many attacks." Mr. X said. "I sent her across the country to Gravesfield Connecticut."
"What's miscarriage?" Polly asked.
"You're too young to be asking that." Mrs. Boonchuy said.
"Uh guys, look at the moving picture box." Yunnan said, pointing to the television.
"I'm just getting word now, that robots are falling left and right, due to some unknown heroine with inhuman powers." The anchorman said.
"It can't be."
The news showed Kali on the screen, fighting off each of the robots that came after her, while wearing her gear. There was something different about it though.
"Wasn't she wearing a leotard before?" Sasha asked.
"She was, but now she's just wearing a breast band." Anne said. "Her stomach's completely bare, and flat."
"You don't think she'd terminated her pregnancy just to fight, do you?" Grime asked.
"No way, with all the pain she endured to be entrusted with those babies, that's unlikely." Mrs. Boonchuy said.
"She must have found a way to be able to fight, and hide her pregnancy so well." Yunnan said.
"You think she could have used the Titan's Quill for that?" Olivia asked.
"I'm sorry, the what now?" Mr. X asked.
"A mystical artifact from the Boiling Isles that can rewrite the laws of physics themselves." Sprig said. "It's also how her body's made of rubber."
"We can ask her for the specifics later when we find her. Let's move." Anne said.
~LA Streets~
"Gum-Gum Fire Dragon: Iron Gatling!" Kali cried out, her fists covered in flames as she sent them flying at the robot frogs coming at her, striking as many of them down as she could.
Kali's arms snapped back into place before she put her thumb in her mouth, and bit down on it.
"Third Gear!" She stated, before blowing into her thumb, causing her arm to grow and expand gigantically. "Bone Balloon!"
Jumping into the air, Kali pulled her arm back, and sent it towards the flying robots, coming her way.
"Giant Pistol!" She shouted, destroying dozens of robots, as well as one of the flying factories, in one strike.
Letting the air out, Kali flew around like a deflating balloon, before she rolled on her back, revealing herself no bigger then Sprig as she got to her feet.
"Guess I gotta train a bit more to avoid this side effect happening." She huffed. "Thankfully, my clothes can adjust to my size." She said, before shadows passed her overhead.
Looking up, Kali spotted Anne and Sprig on Domino's back, being chased by three robot frogs, before Sprig destroyed them with blue mushrooms with white skulls on them.
"Look out!" Kali called out, as a giant robot frog, as big as the buildings, came into view.
Domino avoided the robot frogs strike, with Anne jumping off her back, and running along the metal appendage. Picking up speed and momentum, Kali witnessed Anne jumping over the giant head, before slicing through it, and being hit in the force of the explosion on the other side. Thankfully, Anne was caught by Domino, right before the giant robot began to lean forward, and fell.
"Sweet." Kali smiled, as she grew back to normal size.
Stretching her arms out, grabbing onto a couple of lamp posts, Kali pulled back, and sent herself flying through the air at top speed, before Araña came out of her cleavage, and took on her staff form, with Kalis feet, firmly planted on the staff.
"That was awesome back there Anne." Kali smiled.
"What the hell Kali, where's your belly?" Anne asked.
"There's no need to worry." Kali smiled. "The babies are fine. It was a bit of a rush job, but I used a log of Palistrom wood I'd been hiding in my bag to surprise Luz with, to make something that would keep them safe."
"Palistrom wood?" Anne asked.
"What's that?" Sprig questioned.
"It's a special type of wood that Palismen, like Araña, is made from." Kali said. "Physically, my babies are still connected to me, allowing for me to continue breathing and eating for them."
"I'm sensing a but here…" Anne said.
"But they're in an octagonal shaped box, hidden in a little nook in Gravesfield Connecticut. Far away from this fight." Kali stated.
"All the way on the other side of the country." Anne said.
"Heads up, we got more robots following us." Sprig stated.
Anne and Kali looked behind them to see multiple robots flying after them.
"Kali, follow my lead." Anne said.
Kali nodded, affirming she would follow Anne with her plan.
Diving down, Kali followed Domino as they quickly pulled up, before hitting the ground, and flew past a few allys, one in which Kali barely recognized.
"Was that Frobo?" Kali gasped.
"Yep, Polly gave him an upgrade and a makeover." Anne smiled.
"She is a tiny genius." Kali said, turning back to look where she was going, before her eyes widened when a loud screech echoed through the air.
"It's the giant herons." Anne said, before spotting HP and Polly freezing up. "Guys, snap out of it, or you're toast."
"Anne, Sprig's freaking out just as badly." Kali said, directing Anne's attention to the frog behind the human girl.
"Ooh, I only have one memory of that day. It's the horrible sound those herons made." Sprig said.
"This isn't good. This really isn't good." Kali hissed. "With creatures this big, normal binding spells aren't gonna cut it."
"Kali, what are you doing?" Anne questioned, as Kali flew off towards the herons.
"Frobo, get HP and Polly, to Anne and Sprig. I'll handle the herons." Kali called out to the robot.
Frobo nodded at her, affirming the order, before he grabbed the two Plantars, and took to the skies, just before the herons could eat them.
"Okay. I've never done this before, but I guess now's as good a time as ever to do it." Kali said, landing on a rooftop directly in front of the herons.
"Kali what are you doing?" Anne questioned.
"It's only a theory at this point, but studies from the Beast Keeping Coven show that, spells can be amplified through various techniques of movement. The more difficult the dance, the greater the boost on the spell. I've been working on one for my Beast Keeping class."
"Have you even used it before?" Anne questioned.
"No, but now's as good a time as any to test it out." Kali stated, drawing magic circles around her wrists. "Now get out of here Anne, I don't know if this is gonna work or not, and I wanna make sure you stay safe."
(Cue Music… Into The Night: Santana Ft. Chad Kroger)
Anne didn't argue, the look in Kali's eyes being something fierce as she glared at the herons. Domino flew to the rooftop Frobo was with HP and Polly, before Anne slid off her back with Sprig in her arms.
"Guys, everything's gonna be okay." Anne said, before looking back to the rooftop where Kali was.
Taking a step back, Kali took in a deep breath, before she let out a loud whistle that drew the herons attention to her.
With the giant birds attention focused on her, Kali began moving in a style that Anne thought looked like a Hispanic themed dance.
'Guess I should thank Grandma for hording all those videos that teaches someone to do Flamenco. I should probably thank Luz as well, I wouldn't have been able to get through the lessons without her by my side to be my study buddy. Helped that she wanted to learn the dance as well.' Kali thought.
Every step she took, every move Kali made, it drew the herons attention that much closer to her, their eyes mesmerized by the motions. At the same time, the rings of magic circling her wrists grew brighter, and thicker.
Kali continued to perform at a slower pace, before increasing the tempo, and moving faster. From the other rooftop, Anne looked on in shock, as the herons were actually following her movements, with their eyes.
"Guys, look. Kali's doing it, she's taming the herons." Anne said. "She's actually taming those giant birds."
HP, Polly, and Sprig looked over the ledge to Kali, and they gasped when they saw what she was doing.
"It's like, her own version of the Plantar Family Hunting Dance." Sprig said.
Kali continued to move, distracting the herons while Araña worked in the shadows, and used Formation Omega, to increase her size and strength just enough, to destroy the mind control collars around their necks. This made it easier for Kali's dancing to draw them in, and take affect on them, before the thrust both her arms forward, towards the herons. The magic from her Beast Keeping spell enveloped the birds, before wrapping around their necks, and vanished, leaving behind black markings similar to the collars.
(End Song…)
"Awesome, it worked." Kali said, running up to the ledge, to which the herons moved closer to her, and allowed her to pet their beaks.
"Kali, that was amazing." Sprig said, as they came over on Frobo with Anne joining in on Domino.
"How'd you manage it?" Polly asked. "An' what are those black marks on their necks?"
"I just used what I'd learned in my Beast Keeping class, to enhance my binding spell." Kali said. "An' those marks, mean that the spell went off without a hitch. These two are now loyal to me, but still retain their own free will. They just gotta be careful not to eat anyone I see as my friends."
"That's incredible." Anne smiled.
"Alright you two, see those robots flying up in the sky?" Kali questioned, making the herons look up. "Destroy them all, as well as the flying factories producing them."
~Darcy and Andrias~
"This has gone on, long enough." Darcy said, sounding unamused by the footage she was seeing, before getting in Andrias's face. "Get out there, and bring me that Boonchuy girl, as well as the Dragoness. Break their legs, if you have to."
"But Darcy, the Dragoness is pregnant. I can't in good conscious, hurt her knowing that she's with child." Andrias said.
"I said, bring them to me!" Darcy stated, her anger rising.
Andrias just looked at Darcy, before turning and leaving the control room.
"Oh and Andrias. If you fail, you can forget about ever joining your father, and the rest of us up here." Darcy stated, tapping her helmet.
"Ready the Dyloposaurus!" Andrias told the robot standing at his feet.
~Battlefield~
Everything was starting to change. The tide of battle was turning in favor of the freedom fighters, who were on the defensive against Andrias's forces.
"There's just no end to these things." Kali said, as she hit one with a flaming Gum-Gum Pistol.
"I know what you mean." Anne said. "But we have to keep fighting. Or else this planet is doomed."
"Uh, I think our problems just got worse." Sprig said, as a shadow fell over top of them.
The others looked up, and gasped when they saw the flying castle, heading straight for them. The castle stopped coming towards them, before a set of doors opened, and a giant mecha came out of the opening, and flew down to a helicopter landing pad.
"What's good, primates?" Andrias questioned, his voice echoing out from the mecha that was on the landing pad.
"That's one big salamander." Kali glared.
"Ten coppers I can snipe him from here." Sprig said.
"I've gotta be honest, you've put up a pretty good fight." Andrias said, his mechanical helmet coming undone. "For a race as primitive as yours that is. An' even though we could easily wipe you out, I'm willing to strike a little bargain."
"I don't like where this is going." Kali said.
"I'll call off this whole invasion, if either Anne Boonchuy, or her friend Kali, beats me in single combat." Andrias said. "That's it, no gimmicks, one life for thousands. But if I win, the invasion goes on, and Anne, along with her little dragon friend, are to return to the palace with me. An' if they don't…"
Andrias stopped as the giant cannon on the castle was primed for firing, and turned around, aimed at a sign that said Hollywood, before actually destroying it.
"You hear me Anne? It's time for a rematch." Andrias said, before his armor fully suited up.
"Rematch?" Kali asked.
"I sorta kick his butt the first time I actually used my powers." Anne said. "I did that, because he'd thrown Sprig out the window, and I just got so emotional, I didn't know what was going on with me."
"Hey, it's okay. Anyone would have been that emotional if they'd seen their bestfriend die. But you know that this is obviously a trap, right?" Kali asked.
"I do, but I can't just ignore the challenge." Anne said.
"Neither of us can." Kali huffed. "But what are we gonna do? He said single combat, and that means only one of us, can pick up the gauntlet he's thrown down."
"Kali, before we decide on anything, what would happen to your babies, if you were to die?" Anne asked.
"They'd die." Kali sighed. "I designed the box with a contingency, where they'd be transferred to the womb of whoever added their DNA to it. The DNA would be required to create a link between the babies, and their new mother. But neither of the girls I had in mind for that, are here. They're both on the Boiling Isles."
"Then I'm going." Anne stated. "I'll fight Andrias, and I'll win."
"Before you go Anne, let me do something to boost your natural power." Kali said. "Araña, onto Anne, Formation Knight!"
Araña leapt into the air, and in a burst of light, split into multiple different pieces of herself, before she reassembled onto Anne, covering the Boonchuy in a full suit of plate mail arachnid armor.
"Holy, what just happened?" Anne questioned, looking herself over.
"Araña has several different formations. This one is Formation Knight, and it's pretty self explanatory since you're in a suit of armor." Kali said. "Also, any formations like this, give the wearer a sixth sense for unseen danger. So you'll be able to tell where the danger is coming from, which will give you a chance to evade it before the danger can hit."
"So… I'm wearing a suit of armor that gives me, Spiderman Powers?" Anne asked.
"Don't know who that is, but sure." Kali said.
"Why have her do this though?" Anne asked. "Won't Araña take damage?"
"She will, but when she transforms back into a Palisman, the damage will be all healed up. A nifty little ability I gave her with the Titans Quill. Though afterwards, she will be exhausted for a day or two, depending on how bad the damage is." Kali stated. "An' if she takes on too much damage, she'll automatically return to Palisman form."
"Okay, I'll take on Andrias, and make sure Araña stays safe." Anne said.
Turning to face Andrias, Anne stuck her thumb and index finger into her mouth, before whistling loudly, calling for Domino. Hopping on her steeds back, Anne steered Domino to the tower Andrias was on, before jumping down and landing in front of the tyrant in a three point hero stance.
"You rang?" Anne questioned.
"What's with the armor? Trying to become an arachnid?" Andrias asked.
"A little support from my friend, who I have to fight to protect, to keep her babies safe." Anne said. "So, let's get this over with."
"You know, I think I finally figured out why the stones picked you as their champion Boonchuy." Andrias said, moving his arms and hands like he was cracking his knuckles. "From the moment you walked into my throne room, I underestimated you. A scruffy little girl, with one shoe, and leaves in her hair. Yet, underneath it all, a true warrior. Such a brilliant deception."
"Speak for yourself." Anne scoffed. "You went from Santa Clause to Supervillain, pretty quick there."
"Touché." Andrias said with a laugh. "Oh, and I know about the time limit on your precious powers. Do you really think you can beat me, before you pass out?"
"Only one way to find out." Anne said, the arachnid eyes on her helmet, flashing blue momentarily.
The two stared one another down, Anne cracking her knuckles with blue lightning sparking around her hand and forearm. Things were looking tense between the two fighters, as they each waited for the other, to make the first move.
Anne was the one to break the silence, as she powered up, and took to the air. Flying through the sky, Anne went straight for Andrias, to which the tyrant pulled his arm across his chest, before swinging it forward, swinging a closed back handed strike at her.
The mecha's fist made contact with Anne, causing the sound of ringing metal to echo out through the air. To many who were watching, it might have seemed to the viewers that Andrias was smirking under that helmet, but in reality, he had a look of complete shock and annoyance. At the back of his hand, Anne had managed to use the danger sense ability of the armor to the best of her ability, and used the enhanced strength that came with both her power, and the armor, to block the strike.
"Is that all you got?" Anne questioned, sending her own glare at Andrias.
"Not even close!" Andrias growled.
"Bring it on!" Anne stated.
~A/N~
I'm glad so the previous chapter was liked so much. But let me just answer a couple questions given in the reviews.
As an Etherion Dragonslayer, Kali can absorb any type of magic, but unlike a Basilisk, she can't steal that magic from the person, it has to be either a spell cast and separated from the casters source of magic, or just a wild element.
For the answer to question two.
Kali was able to withstand a strike from Grime's hammer for two main factors.
1: Kali was prepared for Grimes hammer, and was able to brace herself for it. Andrias took Kali by surprise when she was distracted by Darcy announcing that she'd captured the leaders of the resistance, meaning she wasn't able to brace for his tail strike.
2: Size and force are the two key components in the second reason for this. While Grime was able to knock Andrias to his knees when the Toads first began invading Newtopia, he's a lot smaller, and weaker then the Cyborg Monarch Newt who is the size of the Planters house, and his tail is a helluva lot bigger then the head of Barrels Hammer, and stronger then Grimes strikes.
