Sora examined my back carefully, and I felt his fingers tracing the marks and figuring out the order. As he was working, I guess Yuna saw my other tattoo.
"The people and friends we have lost or the dreams that have faded, never forget them." She spoke. I hate needles but I had a feeling the map would be necessary, so I got that on my back. After that, I braved the needle again to get that phrase on my right shoulder.
"Remember my secrets, Yuna? Well let's just say that those words were inscribed into my heart and on my back before you spoke them. So I would always have a reminder that no matter what, never forget those loved and lost. And greet each day making them proud. Plus after meeting your dad, my dream became to proudly protect and raise his children so I can hold my head up high when we meet again. And I fulfilled my childhood dream when I was in the other world and raising your brothers. I was a world famous writer!" I beamed.
"What is a world famous writer? Is it an important position in that world?" Auron asked. I giggled and explained that in that world, a writer was someone who scribes stories real or false for the entertainment of others. And being world famous meant that everyone knew or had read my works.
"So it would be like me writing a story and everyone from Besaid to Zanarkand to either know about it, or have read it. Honestly, I am glad I was able to get so well known. See in that world people pay money or, as you would know it as Gil, to buy the book to read. And while the people who helped me make the book get some of the money, I got most of it. So it helped me buy food and other things that I needed to raise Zaon and Sora." I explained carefully.
"Okay! I have it memorized but I may need to refer to the guide again, so Mom please keep it where I can see it if need be." Sora suddenly cut in. I told Sora to lead the way then. He slowly started leading us from note to note until we were at the top. Once at the top was the moment of truth. If played incorrectly, the guardian would appear. And it would either defeat us or weaken us for what lies ahead.
Sora lived up to my expectations, as the guardian didn't appear. And after a couple minutes of walking forward, we saw Gippal sitting on the ground. Paine ran to him and, with Auron's blessing, Rikku followed a second later. After finding out that he was just resting, and that Nooj had followed Shuyin higher he gave Paine the sphere that she made.
While the girls watched it, I planed our next battles. Once the sphere was over, I looked at everyone.
"I recommend that if we move into teams in the future, that every team has a healer. But in any case, we should move forward. LeBlanc can heal Gippal and join us after." I said noticing that she and her two henchmen had shown up. LeBlanc asked why should she, so I told her that Gippal was Nooj's friend. And I was sure he would appreciate his friend being helped. After that, she agreed and we started upwards.
About halfway to the top, we found Nooj. After telling him that LeBlanc was healing Gippal, Yuna asked what his plan was. He told her that his body was rigged to blow up and he would take him and Shuyin with him. After a moment, Yuna spoke.
"I don't like your plan. It sucks. Just think, it was like what we did two years ago. We sacrificed the aeons that stood beside us because we had no choice. We believe it was the only way, so I gave in. I believed. We lost two friends, and the smiles were too many to count. 'Great job Yuna, you saved us all.' But the people who should have been there with us were not. I know what you say is what you mean to do, Nooj. But I don't want another battle where we have to lose to win. Believe. Believe in Yuna." The pain in her voice was plain to see. Nooj asked if she had a plan, and that's when I spoke up.
"Vegagun is a machina, so I bet we can take it apart. Shuyin can be handled by Yuna and I. With love." I smiled at Yuna. She nodded and that's when Gippal and the others showed up.
"So in that case, we split up. Leblanc, Nooj, Ormi, Logos, and Ben you head to one legs. Leblanc you keep everyone healthy while Ben leads the rest to take it apart. Gippal, Drew, Maroda, and Sora I think you can form a strong group. Sora just heal! Yuna, Rikku, Auron, Pain, Zaon, and I will form the last team. If any team finishes and sees another team having trouble, they move to help. Got it?" I explained and everyone nodded. We all scattered to take Vegagun apart.
It took awhile, but once all the parts were dismantled we headed to deal with Shuyin. Getting there did take some time, but eventually we made it. Once there, I told Yuna to hold out the songstress dressphere. She did, and I looked at it.
"Lenne. Shuyin needs you now. Please help us heal him." I asked the sphere. A wave of light exploded from the sphere and Lenne's soul removed itself from the sphere. Baralai still possessed by Shuyin came to her.
"Shuyin. She can't see you while you control that man. She wants to see the man she loves, and has waited so long." I spoke. Shuyin let go of his hold on Baralai, and I motioned Rikku and Paine to get him out of here.
"Lenne, this world is still uselessly fighting. I wanted to end the fighting." Shuyin spoke to which Lenne responded.
"Shuyin. It is not up to us to stop it anymore. A thousand years have passed, we have come too far to look back now. Come, rest with me Shuyin. I have a new song for you." Lenne told him. As Shuyin fell to his knees before her, she turned to us and thanked us. She wrapped her arms around him and they disappeared from sight in a burst of pyreflies.
We regrouped and once Baralai was awake, headed to return to the surface. As we made it to the Farplane Glen, I stopped to lay in the flowers. Yuna bent over me and asked what I was doing.
"I just had a thought that if Braska was seeing this right now, he would be happy. He hated the cold, so I would think a field of flowers and warmth would make him sooo happy. Don't you think?" I giggled. Yuna reached her hand put to help me up, and I grabbed it. As we turned to head back, Bahamut's fayth appeared.
"Thank you." He said and after we responded, he continued. "You would like to walk with him again?" This was it. I said yes immediately and Yuna followed suit.
"I can't promise anything. But we will try. You two have done so much for us that it is the least we can do." He told us before fading away. Yuna and I looked at each other, and I started rushing her out while smiling. I thought he was talking about bringing Tidus back for Yuna, so that is why I immediately said yes.
Once on the Gullwing, we planned for the guys to speak together in Luca with the factions. Once it was all planned and set up, the three guys asked us if we would speak.
"I have two hyper boys to worry about, and about a years worth of sleep to catch up on. So I will pass on that." I laughed as I reboarded the Gullwing and waved to them. Ten minutes later, Yuna walked over to where I was resting and asked if I needed anything. After telling her to wake me before we got to Besaid, I rolled over to rest.
I woke up to Yuna and the boys poking me and saying that we were almost there. I got up while Yuna went to see Besaid Island from the sky again.
