The sun, an unfeeling eye, glared down through the thick canopy, dappling the forest floor in a mosaic of light and shadow. Birdsong, a discordant symphony of chirps and tweets, filled the air, a stark counterpoint to the tableau of death that lay before them. Naruto, still slumbering, was an island of stillness amidst the carnage. Sunlight glinted off his headband, a cruel reminder of the mission's cost.
A twig snapped, the sound as sharp as a breaking bone. Hana, her face a mask of grim determination, stumbled into the clearing, her one good arm clutching her side. Blood oozed from a dozen wounds, staining her flak jacket a macabre crimson.
"Naruto!" she rasped, her voice hoarse from exertion and pain. "Naruto, wake up!"
The urgency in her voice pierced through Naruto's slumber. He blinked, the world blurring in and out of focus, before finally settling on Hana's face, etched with worry and a grief that mirrored his own.
"Hana?" His voice was rusty, disused from disuse.
Relief, as bright and sudden as a summer storm, flooded her features. "Yes, it's me," she choked out, her voice thick with emotion. "We're all that's left of squad 111. Wake up, please!"
The memories came crashing down then, a tidal wave of steel and screams. Kenta's body, the glint of the Cloud kunoichi's blade, Ryu's defiant roar. Naruto shot up, his heart hammering against his ribs like a trapped bird.
"Where's Ryu?!" he demanded, his voice raw with fear and a dawning dread.
But Hana wouldn't meet his gaze. She looked away, her shoulders slumping, the unspoken truth hanging heavy in the air.
"Hana!" Naruto snarled, his fear morphing into a cold fury. "Hana, tell me!"
"He saved us," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Both of us. His remains… they're over there."
She gestured towards a charred clearing, where a single leg, clad in the familiar green of their squad uniform, protruded from the ashes. The sight of it was like a punch to the gut, knocking the wind out of Naruto's lungs.
He scrambled to his feet, his legs shaky and uncoordinated. He stumbled towards the leg, his vision blurring with tears, his mind refusing to accept the gruesome reality. He clawed at the ashes, desperate to find something, anything, to prove that it wasn't true.
But there was nothing. Only the charred remnants of what used to be his teammate, his friend. A strangled sob escaped his lips, morphing into a primal scream that echoed through the silent forest. He beat his fists against the unforgiving earth, his grief a tangible thing, heavy and suffocating.
He searched for an hour, his hands raw and bleeding, but found nothing but ashes and the hollow silence of his own despair. Finally, he collapsed back beside Hana, his tears spent, his spirit broken.
He held out the bloody headband, the symbol of their fallen squadmate, a silent offering. "Here," he choked out, his voice hoarse. "He was more your teammate than mine."
Hana took it, her fingers trembling. Tears streamed down her face, carving fresh tracks through the grime and blood. "We need to finish this," she whispered, her voice firm despite the tremor in her hands. "For Kenta, for Ryu, for squad 111."
Naruto nodded, his face a mask of grim determination. He wiped his tears, burying his grief deep inside, where it could fester and fuel his resolve. They had a mission to complete, a promise to keep.
They descended back into the ravine, the silence broken only by the crunch of leaves underfoot. The bandit camp, once a hive of activity, was now a tableau of death. Explosive seals had turned tents into pyres, gravity seals had sent bandits plummeting to their doom in trap holes, shuriken summoning seals had rained death from above, and barrier seals had prevented escale.
Naruto looked at the carnage with a dull ache in his chest. It was his handiwork, his seals that had wrought this devastation. Yet, he felt no satisfaction, no sense of accomplishment. Only a hollow emptiness, a nagging feeling that he had traded one life for many.
"Looks like your fuuinjutsu did the trick," Hana observed, her voice laced with irony.
He nodded, his throat too tight to speak.
"I'm not good with fire jutsu," she said, her voice softening. "Can you burn the camp? Then we can call this mission complete."
Naruto went the through the handseals slowly.
"Fire style: Flame bombs."
Naruto unleashed three massive fireballs, engulfing the bandit camp in an inferno. The flames danced and roared, consuming everything in their path, leaving behind nothing but smoldering ash and a sense of finality. They watched the fire burn for two hours, a somber vigil for their fallen comrades. As the last embers died down, so did a part of them. They were no longer the carefree genin who had embarked on this mission just days ago. They were survivors, scarred and burdened by the weight of loss.
As the first rays of dawn painted the sky, they turned their backs on the smoldering remains of the camp and started their long walk back to the village. The forest, once a vibrant tapestry of life, now seemed to echo their grief, the rustling leaves whispering their names. Each step was a battle, each breath a reminder of the empty spaces in their squad.
They reached the village gates two days later, their bodies weary and their spirits broken. Izumo and Kotetsu, the ever-present gatekeepers, stared at them in shock.
"Took you longz," Izumo started to quip before Kotetsu covered his mouth, Then he noticed the bloody headband clutched in Hana's hand, the haunted look in their eyes. The words died in his throat, replaced by a cold understanding.
Naruto and Hana didn't even spare them a glance. They shuffled past, their heads bowed, their silence a heavier burden than any words could ever be. They were ghosts walking among the living, reminders of a mission gone wrong, a stark testament to the fragility of shinobi life.

"Hana, go to the hospital," Naruto rasped, his voice barely a whisper. "You're badly hurt. I can report in."
Hana opened her mouth to protest, but another spasm wracked her body, her face contorting in pain. Naruto caught her before she could fall, the weight of her near-lifeless form a stark reminder of his own mortality.
"You're right," she gasped, her voice weak. "I'll go. But come see me when you're done. We need to figure out what happens to squad 111 now."
With a final, grimace-filled wave, Hana turned and disappeared into the bustling streets, leaving Naruto standing alone with the weight of the world on his shoulders. He took a shuddering breath, the air heavy with the scent of death and dust, and steeled himself for the task ahead.
He had a mission to complete, not just to the Hokage, but to the memory of his fallen comrades. He would report, he would grieve, he would rebuild. He would do whatever it took to honor their sacrifice, to make sure their deaths were not in vain.
Naruto squared his shoulders and marched towards the mission room, his steps heavy but resolute. He was a survivor, a warrior, a proud member of squad 111. He would carry their legacy with him.
Naruto knew Hana was in the hospital, recovering from her injuries. He clenched his fist hand shaking m, a grim reminder of the mission and the heavy price they paid. Despite knowing Hana was alive, a gnawing worry gnawed at him. He had seen the extent of her injuries, the way her body had shuddered with every spasm. He couldn't shake the image of her lying there, pale and still, her life hanging in the balance.
He entered the mission room approaching a the nondescript chunin with the green headband, his voice hoarse from disuse.
"I need to report my mission." He stated.
The chunin's face softened slightly as he scanned him, all the signs were clear.
"Uzumaki," the chunin's voice got his attention. "The chunin commander wants to see you. Left hall, last door on the left."
Naruto nodded, gratitude mingling with the ever-present ache of loss. He had a mission to report, a story to tell, a legacy to honor. And Hana, his fearless teammate, his rock, would be waiting for him when it was done.
The chunin commander's office was a study in austerity. A bare desk, a few rickety chairs, and the hulking figure of the jonin himself filling the remaining space. He looked up at Naruto, his dark eyes assessing the young genin who had arrived burdened by loss but still inexplicably standing.
"Form up and report," he barked, his voice a low rumble that echoed off the walls.
Naruto, despite the tremor in his hands, straightened his shoulders and met the jonin's gaze. "Squad 111 mission complete," he stated, his voice firm despite the fear and grief churning within him.
He began to speak, weaving his tale of ambush, struggle, and sacrifice. He spoke of Kenta leadership, of Ryu's defiant roar, of Hana's unwavering spirit even as her body threatened to fail. He spoke of his own fear, his mistakes, his grief. He laid bare the soul of squad 111, leaving nothing hidden in the stark light of the jonin's office.
When he finished, the room was silent. The jonin stared at him, his face unreadable, his silence a heavy weight in the air. Naruto braced himself for judgment, for scorn, but none came.
Instead, the jonin sighed, a long, weary sigh that seemed to carry the weight of countless battles and lost comrades. "You did well, kid," he finally said, his voice gruff but laced with something akin to respect. "You survived. You completed the mission. You honored your friends."
Naruto blinked, surprised by the jonin's words. He hadn't expected praise, not after his failures. But the jonin's gaze, though still stern, held a flicker of understanding, a recognition of the burden Naruto carried.
"Loss is a part of this life, kid," the jonin continued, his voice softer now. "We all face it sooner or later. But it doesn't have to break you. It can make you stronger. It can make you better."
He paused, his eyes boring into Naruto's. "Squad 111 may be gone," he said, "but their legacy lives on. In you, Naruto. In Hana. You carry their memory, their spirit, their will. You are not alone."
The weight on Naruto's chest seemed to lessen, a crack appearing in the wall he had built around his grief. He wasn't alone. He and Hana, the last embers of squad 111, they had each other. They had their memories. They had a mission.
"What happens now, sir?" Naruto asked, his voice still thick with emotion, but a spark of hope flickering in his eyes.
The jonin smiled, a rare, fleeting thing that crinkled the corners of his eyes. "For now, you rest, you heal, you mourn," he said. "Then, you and Hana, you train. You train harder than you ever have before. You push yourselves beyond your limits, hone your skills, become the shinobi your fallen comrades believed you could be."
He leaned forward, his gaze intense. "You become the shinobi who will honor their memory. You become the shinobi who will never let their sacrifice be in vain."
Naruto met the jonin's gaze, a newfound
Naruto's eyes burned with determination. He knew the path before him wouldn't be easy. It would be grueling, filled with pain and tears, but he was ready. He had to be, for Hana, for Kentaro, for Ryu, for the legacy of squad 111.
He nodded resolutely. "I will, sir. I will become worthy of their memory. I will become the shinobi they knew I could be."
The jonin's smile widened, a proud glint in his eyes. "I know you will, kid," he said, his voice gruff but filled with a warmth that surprised Naruto. "Now go. Rest, heal, mourn. And when you're ready, come back. We have work to do."
Naruto felt a surge of gratitude towards the jonin, who in a few short moments had offered him not just reprieve from his guilt, but a renewed sense of purpose. He knew he wouldn't be able to erase the pain of his loss, but he could choose to honor it, to turn it into fuel for his growth.
He walked out of the office, a newfound resolve burning within him. He wouldn't let the sacrifice of his comrades be in vain. He would become a shinobi worthy of their memory, a shinobi who would protect the village they had dedicated their lives to.
But first, he had to go to the hospital. He had to see Hana, to assure himself that she was alright, to tell her about the jonin's words, their shared mission to honor the fallen. He knew she would understand, that together, they would find the strength to carry on, to carry the torch of squad 111 forward.
As he walked towards the hospital, Naruto looked up at the clear blue sky. He imagined his friends, smiling down at him, their spirits forever intertwined with his. He knew they would be watching him, guiding him, urging him to become the best shinobi he could be.
And he wouldn't let them down. He would make them proud. He would be the last ember of squad 111, a beacon of hope and resilience, a testament to the enduring power of friendship and the unyielding spirit of a shinobi.
Leaf Village Hospital
The sterile scent of the hospital filled Naruto's senses as he pushed open the door to Hana's room. He could see her lying in the bed, her face pale but peaceful, her breathing slow and steady. Relief washed over him in a wave, momentarily erasing the ache in his heart.
She was alive. She was going to be okay.
He crept closer to the bed, his eyes tracing the outline of her face. He saw the faint burns from the lightning attack, the bandages wrapped around her arm, but beneath it all, he saw the same Hana he knew, strong and determined.
"Hana..." he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
Her eyes fluttered open, slowly focusing on him. A flicker of surprise crossed her face, then a smile bloomed, hesitant at first, then growing wider as she recognized him.
"Naruto..." she croaked, her voice hoarse from disuse.
He reached out and gently took her hand. It was cold, but he felt a warmth spread through him, a warmth he hadn't felt since the mission.
"I'm so glad you're okay," he said, his voice trembling. "I was so worried about you."
A small tear escaped her eye and rolled down her cheek. "I'm... glad you're okay too, Naruto."
They sat in silence for a moment, each lost in their own thoughts, yet somehow connected by an invisible thread. The weight of their loss hung heavy in the air, but beneath it, there was a flicker of hope, a shared determination to carry on.
"We did good, didn't we, Naruto?" Hana asked, her voice barely a whisper.
He nodded, his eyes welling up with tears. "We did good, Hana. We completed the mission. We honored Kenta and Ryu."
They cried together then, tears of grief and relief intermingling on their cheeks. They mourned the loss of their comrades, but they also celebrated their own survival, their own resilience.
When the tears subsided, Hana looked at him, her eyes filled with a newfound resolve. "We can't let their sacrifice be in vain, Naruto," she said, her voice firm despite its weakness. "We have to keep going. We have to become the shinobi they knew we could be."
Naruto squeezed her hand, his heart brimming with emotions. "We will, Hana. We will become stronger, faster, better. We will make them proud."
They spent the rest of the day talking, sharing stories of Kentaro and Ryu, reminiscing about their time together as squad 111. They laughed and they cried, but through it all, they felt a sense of unity, a bond that had been forged in the fires of loss and strengthened by the shared burden of survival.
As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the room, Naruto knew it was time to leave. He leaned down and kissed Hana's forehead, a silent promise to be there for her, to help her heal, to walk this path of grief and recovery together.
"I'll come back tomorrow," he whispered.
Hana smiled, a tired but hopeful smile. "I'll be waiting."
He turned and walked out of the room, his heart heavy but lighter than it had been in days. He knew the road ahead would be long and arduous, but he also knew he wouldn't face it alone. He had Hana, and together, they would carry the legacy of squad 111 forward, forever honoring the memory of their fallen comrades.
Exhausted to the bone, Naruto stumbled through the familiar streets of Konohagakure. His shoulders slumped under the weight of his grief, the ninja pouches feeling cumbersome against his aching back. Reaching his apartment, he barely fumbled with the lock before dropping the pouches and the sealing scroll onto the floor. He didn't even bother taking off his worn clothes, collapsing onto his bed in a heap.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window, rousing Naruto from a restless sleep. He still felt the exhaustion clinging to him, but there was a new layer of determination beneath it. He had things to do, promises to keep.
A knock on the door startled him. He rose, his tired legs protesting, and opened the door to find a masked Anbu shinobi. The silence was heavy before the Anbu spoke in a clipped voice.
"Uzumaki Naruto, you are summoned to the Hokage's office immediately."
Naruto's heart skipped a beat. He knew what the Hokage's summons likely meant. Taking a deep breath, he nodded and followed the Anbu through the still-waking village.
The sun had barely risen, casting long shadows as they walked. Vendors were just starting to set up their stalls, the air filled with the sounds of their preparations. Despite the bustle around him, Naruto felt a sense of isolation, the weight of his experiences hanging heavy over him.
Reaching the Hokage's office, the Anbu led him to the familiar door. He took a deep breath and knocked, his knuckles rapping against the sturdy wood.
"Enter," a voice called from inside.
Naruto pushed open the door and stepped into the office. The Hokage sat behind his desk, his face etched with a sadness that mirrored Naruto's own.
"Uzumaki Naruto," the Hokage began, his voice grave. "I want to commend you on your bravery and resilience during your mission. You faced unimaginable loss and emerged stronger. You honored your comrades and completed your mission. You are a true shinobi."
Naruto stood tall under the Hokage's gaze, but his eyes welled up with tears.
The Hokage saw the pain in his eyes and sighed. He leaned back in his chair, a deep sadness in his eyes. "Loss is a part of life, Naruto," he said, his voice gentle. "But it doesn't have to break you. It can make you stronger. It can make you better."
He paused for a moment, then continued. "I know you are grieving, and you deserve time to heal. Therefore, I am granting you and Hana two weeks of leave. Rest, recover, and remember your fallen comrades. When your leave is over, you will be assigned a new mission."
Relief and gratitude washed over Naruto. He knew he and Hana needed this time to heal, to process their loss and rebuild themselves. He bowed deeply to the Hokage.
"Thank you, Jiji-sama" he said, his voice thick with emotion. "I will not waste this time. I will become stronger, for them and for myself."
The Hokage nodded, a flicker of pride in his eyes. "I know you will, Naruto. You are a shinobi of Konohagakure. You are a legacy in the making."
Leaving the Hokage's office, Naruto felt lighter as he always did after talking to Jiji. He knew the journey ahead would be long and arduous, but he was no longer alone. He had Hana, he had the memory of his comrades, and he had the Hokage's faith in him.
Naruto, fueled by purpose and grief, left the Hokage's office and marched straight to his apartment. He needed to change, to shed the remnants of the mission and embrace the challenge of becoming a stronger shinobi.
He donned his training gear, the familiar orange jumpsuit and black pants feeling like a second skin. He strapped on his ninja pouches, the weight of his kunai and shuriken a comforting reminder of his duty.
But something was different. The mission had revealed a weakness, a gaping hole in his abilities. He needed to delve into something he had only briefly touched on before – the ability to sense other chakra.
Had he been able to do so, the Cloud kunoichi wouldn't have been able to ambush them. The guilt gnawed at him, but instead of consuming him, it fueled his determination.
He found himself drawn to the training grounds, a place where sweat and tears had sculpted him into the shinobi he was today. He sought a quiet corner, away from the bustle of other trainees, and sat down, closing his eyes.
He focused on his own green chakra, visualizing it as a swirling mist that extended from his body. He felt it coat his skin, seeping into his clothes, becoming one with him. He breathed deeply, clearing his mind, focusing on the subtle vibrations of the world around him.
Hours passed, each breath a battle against doubt and distraction. Slowly, he started to feel it – the faint hums and pulsations of other chakra signatures. They were distant, like whispers in the wind, but they were there.
After grueling hours with rivers of sweat dropping down his body, progress was slow. He opened his eyes and right in front of him was a towering tree swaying in the wind. It gave him inspiration to try something new.
He closed his eyes once more, but this time, he extended his senses outward, not just horizontally but also downward. He imagined his green chakra, usually vibrant and swirling, sinking into the earth beneath him, spreading like roots seeking water.
He focused on the feeling of the earth, the solidity beneath his feet, the faint tremors that ran through the ground. He spread his chakra through the air with each exhale. As his chakra intertwined with the earth and sky, a new sensation emerged – a subtle hum, a tapestry of energy interwoven with the very fabric of the land.
It wasn't as clear as sensing individual chakra signatures, but it was a start. He could feel the energy of living things around him, pulsing like a faint heartbeat. He could sense the flow of water underground, the rustling of insects in the distance, the towering presence of trees like silent giants.
A familiar chakra signature, sharp and erratic, pierced through the others. Naruto's eyes snapped open, his heart pounding. It was him again, the mysterious figure he kept encountering. But just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished, leaving only a faint trail of chakra like a fading dream.
He stood up, confusion swirling in his mind. Was it a hallucination? A trick of his imagination? Suddenly, something nudged his leg. He looked down to see a dog, seemingly made entirely of ink, holding a scroll in its mouth.
The dog dropped the scroll at Naruto's feet, its form dissolving into a pool of inky blackness. Naruto stared at the scroll, his mind racing. He picked it up, unfurling it to reveal two jutsu descriptions.
One was a B-rank Wind Style jutsu called "Vacuum Slice," capable of unleashing a powerful gust of wind that could slice through most obstacles. The other was a C-rank Fire Style jutsu called "Fireball Jutsu," a classic technique that summoned a giant fireball depending on the chakra usage.
But what truly captured Naruto's attention were the accompanying notes. They spoke of the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, and his incredible ability to touch someone and implant a seal on them with his chakra.
A surge of excitement coursed through Naruto. He had stumbled upon a treasure trove of knowledge, a chance to not only expand his arsenal but also unlock a new facet of his potential. He forgot, for a moment, the mystery of the figure and the weight of the mission, consumed by the thrill of learning these new techniques.
With a determined glint in his eyes, Naruto immediately started practicing. He focused on the descriptions, visualizing the flow of chakra and the hand gestures needed to execute the jutsu. He practiced tirelessly, hour after hour, the sun rising and setting as he honed his skills.
He knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy. Mastering these new jutsu, especially the B-rank Vacuum Slice, would require immense concentration and control of his chakra. But Naruto wasn't afraid of hard work. He had faced death, loss, and his own limitations. He was a survivor, a shinobi, and he would not falter.
He would learn these jutsu. He would unlock the secrets of chakra sensing. He would honor his fallen comrades. He would become the strongest shinobi Konohagakure had ever seen. And he would never forget the lessons he learned, the sacrifices that paved his path.
ROOT
In the depths of a forgotten bunker, far beneath the bustling streets of Konohagakure, Danzo Shimura, the enigmatic leader of Root, sat in his dimly lit office. Shadows danced on the walls, fueled by the flickering candlelight, as he awaited the arrival of his most trusted agent, Sai.
The silence was broken by the soft creak of the door opening. Sai, a young shinobi with an emotionless mask perpetually plastered on his face, stepped into the room and bowed deeply. "Danzo-sama," he greeted, his voice devoid of any inflection.
Danzo's lone eye narrowed, scrutinizing his subordinate. "Report," he commanded, his voice a low growl.
"The scrolls have been delivered," Sai replied, his tone as flat as his expression. "Naruto Uzumaki has them in his possession."
A flicker of satisfaction crossed Danzo's face, momentarily illuminating the harsh lines etched around his eye. "Excellent work, Sai," he said, a rare praise escaping his lips. "Your loyalty and efficiency are invaluable to me."
Sai remained impassive, his face a blank canvas. He knew better than to acknowledge such compliments. Danzo's approval was fleeting, a mere tool to further his own ambitions.
"Hiruzen may choose to let Naruto's potential go to waste," Danzo continued, his voice hardening, "but we will not. This weapon, this young jinchuriki with his untapped power, will be crucial in the coming Shadow War."
Sai listened intently, absorbing the weight of Danzo's words. The Shadow War, a clandestine conflict fought in the shadows, was a constant threat to the balance of power in the ninja world. Danzo, with his relentless ambition and ruthless tactics, sought to ensure that Konohagakure emerged victorious, even if it meant sacrificing innocent lives.
"Do you understand your mission, Sai?" Danzo asked, his gaze piercing through the young shinobi's mask.
"To observe Naruto, to guide him, and to ensure that his power is used to serve the interests of Root and Konohagakure," Sai answered, his voice unwavering.
Danzo nodded, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. "Good. Then go. Continue your surveillance. Report to me regularly. And remember, Sai," he added, his voice dropping to a whisper, "Naruto Uzumaki is not just a weapon. He is a tool, a pawn in our grand game. Use him wisely, and you will be rewarded."
Sai bowed again, a silent vow forming in his heart. He would fulfill his mission, no matter the cost. He would become the perfect tool, a loyal shadow serving the darkness that lurked beneath the surface of Konohagakure. But deep down, a flicker of doubt remained. Could he truly manipulate Naruto, a boy who had already faced so much suffering? Or would he, in the end, be consumed by the darkness he served?
A week later
A week flew by in a whirlwind of training and self-discovery. Naruto devoured the knowledge within the scrolls, mastering the wind-cleaving power of the Vacuum Slice and the scorching fury of the Fireball Jutsu. He spent countless hours meditating, his green chakra swirling thriufh nature, attuning him to the subtle vibrations of the world around him. His ability to sense chakra signatures grew, allowing him to perceive living things even through walls and foliage.
With Hana finally released from the hospital, Naruto felt a weight lifted from his chest. He visited the Konohagakure memorial stone every day, paying his respects to Kentaro and Ryu. Their names, etched into the cold stone, were a constant reminder of their sacrifice and his own responsibility.
One day, as he knelt before the memorial, a cloaked figure approached him. His masked face remained unreadable, but Naruto felt a sense of familiarity he couldn't explain.
"They were good men, Naruto," the figure spoke, his voice gruff but filled with sincerity.
Naruto looked up, surprised. "Who are you?"
The figure paused for a moment then stepped closer revealing the scarred eye and silver hair of Hatake Kakashi.
Naruto's eyes widened in recognition. He had heard stories of the famed Copy Ninja, but this was his first encounter with him.
Kakashi continued, his voice heavy with emotion. "When I was your age," he said, "I was a jonin leading a team during the Third Shinobi World War. I lost a teammate during that mission, and another one later in the war."
Naruto listened intently, his heart filled with empathy. He knew the pain of losing comrades, and seeing it reflected in Kakashi's eyes brought a wave of sadness over him.
"It will be hard, Naruto," Kakashi said, his eye filled with a newfound warmth. "The path of a shinobi is filled with hardship and loss. But your spirit, your will, is much greater than mine ever was. I believe in you, Naruto. You have the potential to become something extraordinary."
Naruto stared at him, surprised by the jonin's unexpected confession. He had expected Kakashi to be stern or aloof, but here he was, sharing his own pain and offering words of encouragement.
A surge of gratitude washed over Naruto. He wasn't alone in this journey. He had Kakashi, and he had Hana. Together, they would carry the memory of their fallen comrades and strive to become the shinobi they were destined to be.
"Thank you, Kakashi-senpai" Naruto said, his voice thick with emotion. "I won't let you down."
Kakashi nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips. "I know you won't," he said. "Now go," he added, gesturing towards the village. "Enjoy your time with Hana. You deserve some happiness after all you've been through."
Naruto stood up, a newfound determination burning in his eyes. He knew the path ahead wouldn't be easy, but he was no longer afraid. He had the support of his friends, the memory of his comrades, and the unwavering belief in himself. He was Naruto Uzumaki, a shinobi of Konohagakure, and he would never give up.
Training grounds
For three grueling days and nights, Naruto pushed himself to the limit at the training grounds. He practiced tirelessly, honing his skills with relentless determination. He wouldn't let his friends down. He wouldn't let himself down.
Exhausted but invigorated, Naruto finally collapsed on the familiar ground, his body aching but his spirit unbroken. He had mastered the Wind Style Vacuum Slice, its cutting power now precise and devastating. He mastered the fireball jutsu.
His connection to the world grew stronger, allowing him to sense the chakra signatures of those around him with increasing clarity. He could even sense the flow of water beneath the surface, a valuable asset in his arsenal of techniques.
When Hana finally rejoined him at the training ground, now cleared for missions, Naruto was ecstatic. He had missed her presence, her unwavering support, and her infectious smile.
For the next four days, they trained together with an intensity that rivaled their own individual efforts. Hana, with her natural affinity for water, focused on learning advanced water ninjutsu. She summoned cascading waves, sculpted water blades with incredible precision, and shrouded herself in swirling mists.
Naruto, in turn, continued to refine his existing techniques, pushing his speed and agility to new limits. He practiced dodging Hana's attacks, using his sensing to anticipate her movements, and even counter-attacking with his Wind Style and Firebreath jutsu.
Together, they developed a series of intricate combinations, blending their individual strengths to create devastating effects. Hana's water attacks would soften their opponents, making them vulnerable to Naruto's powerful elemental strikes. In turn, Naruto's jutsu could create openings for Hana to unleash her water techniques with deadly precision.
As the days went by, their teamwork became more cohesive, their movements more synchronized. They pushed each other to their limits, fostering a sense of trust and camaraderie that transcended the battlefield.
By the end of the week, Naruto and Hana were a force to be reckoned with. Their skills, individually impressive, became exponentially stronger when combined. They were ready to face any challenge that came their way, ready to honor their fallen comrades and protect their village.
But their journey was far from over. The path of a shinobi was fraught with danger, and they knew that their true test was yet to come. Yet, they faced the future with a newfound confidence, their hearts burning with the shared flame of determination and love. They were Naruto Uzumaki and Hana Tain, and together, they would rise to any challenge.
One week later
Naruto wanted to improve his lethality so he headed out to the shinobi weapon district to find a weapon.
Walking down the street in the weapons district he found a shop with a sign depicting a kunai.
Naruto pushed open the creaking door of the weapon shop, a familiar scent of polished steel and oiled leather filling his nostrils. The air buzzed with a quiet energy, the ghosts of countless battles lingering among the swords that adorned the walls.
A wizened shopkeeper, his face etched with the wisdom of countless battles, looked up from his workbench. His eyes, bright and sharp despite his age, flickered with recognition as he saw Naruto.
"Ah, young Uzumaki," he rasped, his voice like dry leaves rustling in the wind. "What brings you to my humble shop today?"
Naruto, his orange jumpsuit vibrant against the dim backdrop of the shop, grinned. "I seek a weapon, old man," he declared, his voice brimming with youthful enthusiasm. "A blade to guide me on my path as a shinobi."
The shopkeeper chuckled, a dry sound that echoed in the stillness of the shop. "A noble quest, young one. But tell me, what kind of blade do you seek? A katana, elegant and swift? Or perhaps a wakizashi, a companion to a longer blade?"
Naruto, unsure, ran his hand along a wall of katanas, admiring their sleek curves and polished surfaces. But something felt…missing. He continued his exploration, his fingers tracing the intricate patterns on the hilts of various blades, each one whispering tales of past battles and warriors.
Then, his gaze fell upon it. A single odachi, its dark orange blade almost dwarfed by the smaller swords surrounding it. The color, a deep and vibrant shade that mirrored Naruto's own indomitable spirit, resonated with him. He felt drawn to it, as if the blade itself was calling out to him.
Hesitantly, Naruto reached out, his fingers brushing against the smooth surface of the odachi. A jolt of energy ran through him, a feeling of connection so strong it surprised him. He knew, in that moment, that this was the blade he had been searching for.
"This one," Naruto said, his voice filled with newfound conviction. "This is the weapon I choose."
The old shopkeeper's eyes widened, a flicker of amusement dancing in their depths. He had seen countless shinobi come and go, each seeking a blade to match their spirit. But none had ever chosen the odachi, a weapon that demanded strength, precision, and a fierce determination to master.
"A bold choice, young Uzumaki," the shopkeeper rasped, his voice tinged with respect. "The odachi is not a toy. It is a weapon of power and responsibility. Are you ready for such a burden?"
Naruto, his grip tightening on the odachi's hilt, looked into the shopkeeper's eyes. He saw no doubt, only the challenge of a veteran warrior recognizing a kindred spirit.
"I am," Naruto declared, his voice resonating with unwavering confidence. "I will train tirelessly, master this blade, and become the shinobi I was always destined to be."
The shopkeeper smiled, a genuine smile that crinkled his weathered face. He knew then that Naruto Uzumaki was no ordinary shinobi. He was a young man with a fire in his heart and a spirit that burned brighter than any blade. He was destined for greatness, and the odachi would be his loyal companion on that journey.
As Naruto walked out of the shop, the odachi strapped securely to his back, a new chapter in his life began. He knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy. He would face countless challenges, endure grueling training, and experience both victory and defeat. But with each swing of his blade, Naruto would grow stronger, wiser, and more deserving of the weapon he now carried. He was Naruto Uzumaki, the young shinobi with the heart of a lion and the blade of a warrior, and his legend was only just beginning.
Mission
The air crackled with energy as Hana and Naruto sparred in the training ground. Their movements were sharp and precise, their weapons flashing in the sunlight. Naruto, his dark orange odachi a blur, landed a series of blows on Hana's water shield, the water splashing around them in a refreshing mist.
Suddenly, a young Chunin burst onto the field, his face flushed and eyes wide. "Hana-san, Uzumaki-san!" he gasped, holding out a scroll. "Urgent mission!"
Naruto paused, his odachi resting on his shoulder. He had a feeling this wouldn't be another routine training session.
"C-ranked," the Chunin panted. "Border patrol at the Kusa border. Reinforcements needed. Apparently, they've had a few skirmishes with Kusa shinobi."
Hana frowned. "Skirmishes? That's unusual. What are they after?"
The Chunin shook his head. "Details are in the scroll. Hokage-sama wants immediate deployment."
"Roger," Hana and Naruto replied in unison, their voices firm and resolute.
They quickly gathered their weapons, Naruto sealing his supplies and tools into scrolls he carried in his pouch. With a final look at the training ground, they left through the west gate of Konohagakure, their movements swift and efficient.
As they leaped from tree to tree, Naruto couldn't help but feel a tremor of nervousness. The last mission had been a disaster, ending with the tragic loss of his teammates. Even though he had been training relentlessly, the fear of failure still lingered in his heart.
Hana, sensing his anxiety, placed a hand on his shoulder. "Naruto," she said, her voice strong and reassuring, "we'll be okay. I have your back."
Naruto looked into her eyes, their determination mirroring his own. "I know how you feel," Hana continued, a beautiful smile spreading across her face. "I feel the same way. But together, we're Squad 111. Nothing can stop us."
Naruto's fear suddenly felt insignificant. He was no longer alone. He had Hana, his teammate, his friend, and together they would face whatever challenges awaited them at the Kusa border.
With a renewed sense of confidence, Naruto yelled out, "You're right! Naruto Uzumaki is here!" He doubled his speed, his heart ablaze with determination. They were on a mission, and they were going to succeed. They were Squad 111, and nothing would stand in their way.
As they closed in on the border they were attacked by a kusa shinobi with a poisoned blade. Naruto ducked and dodged his swipes retreating out of reach.
Naruto, launched his odachi with a roar. The massive blade sliced through the air with an squelch, severing the Kusa shinobi's arm in a clean, brutal sweep. The shinobi let out a guttural scream as his limb fell to the forest floor, the crimson stain stark against the verdant green.
Without hesitation, Naruto followed up with a powerful Wind Style: Vacuum Slice. A compressed blast of wind erupted from his mouth, tearing through the leaves and branches like a miniature hurricane. The Kusa shinobi, his face contorted in pain and shock, narrowly dodged the attack, rolling desperately away.
But it was too late. Naruto appeared behind him in a blur of orange, his hand flashing through a series of hand seals. "Fire Style: Fireball jutsu!",
unleashing a massive fireball from his mouth. The incandescent blaze engulfed the Kusa shinobi in an instant, turning him into a writhing, screaming inferno.
Moments later, the flames died down, leaving nothing but a faint wisp of smoke and the charred remains of the enemy. Naruto, his heart pounding in his chest, breathed heavily, the heat of the jutsu still clinging to his face. He then went through the handseals for the summoning jutsu.
"Summoning Jutsu!" he declared, slamming his hand onto the ground. With a puff of smoke, his odachi materialized within the summoning circle. He quickly picked it up and sheathed it, the weight of the weapon reassuring against his back.
Turning towards Hana, whose eyes mirrored his own resolve, Naruto shared a silent nod of understanding. Together, they turned and disappeared into the dense foliage, heading back to headquarters to report their victory. Their first major encounter had proven successful, but they knew this was only the beginning. The Kusa border was a tinderbox, and they were the firebreaks, ready to face any threat that dared to ignite the flames of war.
Naruto and Hana reached the konoha outpost and were told to immediately report to commander Sakamoto.
"Welcome to the outpost you too. I know you just got here but I have a mission for you and two others." The commander said gesturing to two other shinobi in the commander's office.
"Hello I am Kaito." A stoic chunin with long brown hair and brown eyes wearing standard konoha battle fatigues said.
"Hey, ignore the stoic over there. Looking forward to working with you. My names Ayane." A red haired chunin girl with orange eyes said waving at them.
"Good, now that introductions have been made, head out immediately. " Commander Sakamoto said.
"Roger!" Four voices stated.
For two weeks, the Kusa outpost had been their captive audience. Naruto, Hana, Kaito, and Ayane had become shadows, flitting unseen around the edges of the compound, their senses attuned to every sound, every movement.
"Shhh," Kaito hissed, his voice barely a whisper. "Keep your eyes peeled. The patrol changes shifts at dawn."
Ayane, crouched beside him, her gaze fixed on the flickering torches that illuminated the perimeter, nodded silently. "Copy that. I'll head out as soon as the new guards are settled."
Naruto, his fingers twitching around the hilt of his odachi, let out a frustrated sigh. "Two weeks, Kaito-sensei. Two weeks of watching these Kusa scum strut around like they own the place. When do we get to strike?"
Kaito, ever calm and collected, placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Patience, Naruto. A hasty move could risk the entire mission. We need to gather all the information we can before we unleash our counterstrike."
Just then, a loud shout broke the night's silence. Two Kusa shinobi, their faces grim and determined, marched out of the headquarters building, their voices carrying snippets of conversation.
"Damn Konoha fools," one of them cursed, his voice thick with rage. "They think they can stop us? We'll show them the true power of the Kusa!"
The other shinobi smirked, his eyes gleaming with a chilling glint. "Their village will burn, their homes will crumble, and soon, the entire Land of Fire will be ours!"
Hana, her eyes narrowed in anger, turned to Naruto. "Did you hear that? They're planning to attack Konoha!"
Naruto's fists clenched, his eyes blazing with fury. "Those bastards! They'll pay for their arrogance! We have to warn the Hokage immediately!"
Kaito, his brow furrowed, held up a hand. "Hold on, Naruto. We don't have enough information yet. We need to know their numbers, their tactics, their strengths and weaknesses."
Ayane, who had been carefully observing the Kusa shinobi, spoke up. "I've memorized their patrol routes and schedules. If I can slip into the headquarters, I might be able to find some documents or plans."
Kaito nodded, a flicker of admiration in his eyes. "That's a bold plan, Ayane. But it could also be very dangerous. Are you sure you're up for it?"
Ayane, her chin held high, met his gaze with unwavering determination. "I am. We need to do everything we can to protect Konoha, even if it means risking our lives."
With a final nod of agreement, they set their plan in motion. Kaito, his hands weaving intricate hand seals, cast a powerful genjutsu that shrouded them in an opaque mist, rendering them invisible to the naked eye.
Ayane, like a wraith in the night, melted into the shadows, her movements silent and swift. Naruto and Hana, their hearts pounding in their chests, watched as she slipped through the Kusa defenses and disappeared into the darkness of the headquarters.
The hours that followed were agonizing. Every creak of a floorboard, every whisper of wind sent shivers down their spines. They waited with bated breath, their eyes glued to the entrance of the headquarters, praying for Ayame's safe return.
Finally, as the first rays of dawn began to paint the sky, a dark figure emerged from the shadows. Ayane, her face pale but her eyes shining with triumph, rejoined her teammates.
"I got it," she whispered, clutching a stack of documents in her hand. "These contain everything we need to know about the Kusa's attack plans."
Exhausted but exhilarated, they knew their mission was a success. They had not only gathered crucial intel, but they had also proven that even the most heavily guarded Kusa outpost could be infiltrated.
As they raced back towards the outpost, the weight of their responsibility heavy on their shoulders, they knew that the battle for the future of their village had just begun. They were Squad 111, Konoha's protectors, and they would not rest until their village was safe. They were Konoha's shields, and they would not falter.
Rain lashed against the wooden walls of the Konoha outpost, a rhythmic counterpoint to the nervous energy crackling within. Inside, four young shinobi stood before Commander Kaito, their faces a mixture of excitement and trepidation.
"Kaito, Ayane, Hana, and Naruto," Commander Sakamotos voice boomed, echoing off the damp stone walls. "Your training has forged your skills and sharpened your minds. You have earned the right to bear a name, a symbol of your unity and purpose. Henceforth, you shall be known as…"
He paused, his gaze sweeping over each of them, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"…Squad 41!"
The name resonated within them, igniting a spark of pride and responsibility. They exchanged glances, a silent communication passing between them – a shared commitment to their newfound identity.
Commander Sakamoto's smile softened. "Your first mission, worthy of your newly earned name, is to escort a convoy of supply wagons back to this outpost. The journey will take you through the treacherous Land of Rain, a land shrouded in mist and fraught with danger. Be vigilant, rely on your strengths as a team, and remember – the lives of many depend on your success."
A collective gasp escaped the four teammates. The Land of Rain, notorious for its unpredictable terrain and Kusa ambushes, was no ordinary C-rank mission. Yet, their faces remained determined, their eyes sparkling with the eagerness to prove themselves.
"We understand, Commander," Kaito responded, his voice firm with resolve. "We will not disappoint."
"Don't worry, Commander," Naruto chimed in, his usual boisterous nature momentarily subdued by the gravity of the situation. "We'll bring those supplies back safe and sound!"
Ayane, ever the voice of reason, placed a calming hand on Naruto's shoulder. "We will face every challenge with courage and teamwork. We will return victorious."
Hana, her eyes reflecting the flickering flame of the nearby torch, nodded in agreement. "We will not falter."
Commander Sakamoto's gaze softened with pride. "I have faith in you, Squad 41. May the spirit of Konoha guide your every step."
With a final, resolute nod, Squad 41 departed the outpost. The damp earth squelched under their boots as they ventured deeper into the forest, the dense canopy overhead filtering the sunlight into a dappled mosaic on the forest floor. The air vibrated with the constant hum of insects and the melancholic melody of dripping leaves.
"Stay alert, everyone," Kaito whispered, his eyes scanning the dense foliage for any sign of movement. "The mist in the Land of Rain can conceal even the most skilled shinobi."
Ayane, her hands hovering near her weapons pouch, responded in a low voice. "I'm ready to create earthen barriers at a moment's notice."
Hana, her chakra swirling around her, formed intricate seals. "And I can conjure water shields to deflect any attacks."
Naruto, his hand resting on the hilt of his odachi, grinned. "Don't worry, guys! I'll be your wall. No Kusa shinobi will get past me!"
The journey was arduous. The rain continued to fall, soaking them to the bone and chilling them to the core. The air grew thick with the earthy scent of decaying leaves and the ever-present mist that shrouded the world in an eerie silence.
They navigated treacherous slopes, their boots slipping on moss-covered rocks. They crossed rushing rivers, the icy water testing their balance and endurance. Each step was a battle against the elements, pushing them to the limits of their physical and mental strength.
But their spirits remained high. They shared stories and jokes to keep their spirits up, their camaraderie a beacon of light in the damp darkness. They encouraged each other, their shared goal a constant reminder of the importance of their mission.
Days blurred into weeks as they traversed the treacherous landscape. The Land of Rain lived up to its name, the constant drizzle morphing into a relentless downpour. Their clothes became caked in mud, their faces haggard from fatigue. Yet, they pressed on, fueled by their unwavering determination.
One evening, as they huddled around a flickering fire, seeking warmth and respite from the relentless rain, a tense silence descended upon them. The air crackled with an unseen energy, a premonition of danger hanging heavy in the mist.
"Do you hear that?" Kaito whispered, his hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of his katana. "Footsteps."
They all strained their ears, the rhythmic thud echoing through the silent forest. Their hearts pounded against their ribs, their senses on high alert.
Then, from the swirling mist, emerged a group of Kusa shinobi, their faces masked and hidden, their eyes gleaming with malice. They were outnumbered, but Squad 41 stood their
As the poisoned kunai rained down, Ayane's earthen wall rose with impressive speed, shielding them from the deadly projectiles. Hana's water blades, swift and precise, sliced through the air, momentarily disorienting the Kusa shinobi and providing a welcome distraction.
Naruto, with a roar that echoed through the forest, charged towards the separated Kusa shinobi. His swift draw and powerful swing of his odachi bisected one enemy instantly, sparking a furious yell from another. With lightning reflexes, Naruto parried their coordinated kunai attack, his blade flashing in the rain. A rising slash sent another Kusa shinobi falling, leaving the last one desperate.
The remaining Kusa shinobi, his eyes burning with hatred, unleashed a flurry of razor-sharp grass blades. Naruto, agile and resourceful, weaved and blocked, receiving cuts but never faltering. In a split second, he tossed his massive odachi high into the air and began forming hand seals.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Slice!" he cried out, unleashing a devastating gust of wind that dispersed the grass blades and sliced directly through the Kusa shinobi's body.
With the immediate threat neutralized, Naruto turned his attention back to his team, his eyes scanning for further danger. He saw Kaito engaged in a fierce duel, a Kusa shinobi poised to strike from behind. In a flash, Naruto moved, dropping down like a silent wraith and plunging his odachi through the unsuspecting Kusa shinobi's skull.
He flipped backwards landing back-to-back with Hana, their movements now synchronized by shared experience, they cut down the remaining Kusa shinobi with deadly efficiency. Their teamwork, honed through countless training sessions, shone brightly in the face of danger.
As the last Kusa shinobi fell, silence descended upon the forest. Rain continued to patter softly, a melancholic melody against the backdrop of fallen leaves and broken weapons. Squad 41, battered but victorious, stood amidst the carnage, their bond strengthened by their shared ordeal.
"Alright, team," Kaito muttered, wiping rain from his brow, "Let's get these supplies back to the outpost. We need to stay alert, though. Kusa could be lurking anywhere in this rain."
Ayane nodded grimly, her hands already forming the seals for an Earth Wall jutsu. "Don't worry, Kaito. I've got our backs."
Hana, her eyes glinting with determination, chimed in, "We won't let those Kusa scum steal our supplies. Not while we're still breathing."
Naruto, ever the optimist, grinned. "Come on, guys! Let's show those Kusa what happens when they mess with Konohagakure! We'll be back at the outpost before you can say 'Shinobi Way!'"
With a shared look of resolve, they turned towards the waiting wagons. Ayane's jutsu created a smooth earthen path, guiding the wagons through the muddy terrain. As they journeyed back, they shared stories, cracked jokes, and reminisced about their training. Their bond, forged in the fires of their recent battle, grew stronger with each passing moment.
One evening, as they huddled around a campfire, the rain finally subsided, revealing a star-studded sky. "We've come a long way, guys," Hana said softly. "We've faced dangers, lost comrades, and emerged stronger than before."
Naruto puffed out his chest. "That's right! We're Squad 41, and we never back down from a challenge!"
Ayane smiled. "We're more than just teammates now. We're family. And that bond will never be broken."
Kaito, his eyes reflecting the flickering flames, nodded in agreement. "You're right. You have faced your first true test as a team, and you emerged victorious. Remember this feeling, this strength you've found in each other. It will be your guide in the battles to come."
They sat in comfortable silence for a while, the warmth of the fire and the camaraderie around them a stark contrast to the harsh realities they had faced. This moment, shared under the vast night sky, was a testament to their resilience and the unbreakable bond they had forged.
Finally, the first rays of dawn broke through the clouds, painting the sky in a breathtaking array of colors. With a renewed sense of purpose, Squad 41 rose to their feet. They had a long journey ahead, but they faced it together, ready for whatever challenges awaited them. They were Squad 41, and they were unstoppable.
Six months had passed since their first harrowing mission. Naruto, now 13, stood alongside his comrades of Squad 41, the wind whipping his blond hair across his face.
The attacks from Kusa had escalated, growing in both frequency and ferocity. The Konoha outpost at the border of Kusa, once a haven, now felt like a fortress under constant siege.
Naruto, his eyes narrowed in concentration, focused his chakra. He had diligently trained, mastering the art of sensing chakra signatures around him. This newfound ability allowed him to detect hidden ambush forces. It made him an important piece in the shadow war.
He clenched his fist, a surge of anger coursing through him. The Kusa forces had grown bolder, their attacks targeting not only supply lines but also innocent civilians. He would not stand for it. He would protect his village, his comrades, and his loved ones.
"Naruto, focus!" Ayane's voice cut through his thoughts. "Commander Sakamoto has summoned us."
Naruto straightened up, a determined glint in his eyes. He joined his teammates, their faces etched with grim determination. Their former squad leader now commanded the outpost now, the former commander had perished during an assassination into their outpost; a kusa specialty.
"Squad 41," Commander Kaito began, his voice echoing through the damaged courtyard, "the situation has become critical. Kusa has established a forward outpost, a launching pad for their incursions into the Land of Fire. We cannot tolerate this any longer."
He spread a map on the table, revealing the location of the Kusa outpost. "Your mission is to infiltrate and destroy this outpost. This is a crucial operation, and failure is not an option."
Naruto's fists clenched tighter. He exchanged glances with his teammates, a silent vow passing between them. They would succeed, no matter the cost.
"Naruto, your sensory ninjutsu is a key element in detecting enemy ambushes, it's saved many lives. You'll be taking point for squad 41." Commander Kaito ordered staring at Naruto with the most serious looks he's seen.
Naruto saluted, " I won't let you down commander."
"See that you don't."
The next day, Squad 41, along with three other Konoha squads, set out under the cover of darkness. Guided by Naruto's newfound sensing ability, they navigated the treacherous terrain, evading Kusa patrols with silent efficiency.
The Kusa outpost was a fortified structure, guarded by a large contingent of shinobi.
Naruto led them to a treeline completing shielding them from patrols.
Naruto closed his eyes spreading his sensory ninjutsu through the area. Not detecting any enemies he opened his eyes.
"We're clear. We need a plan." He stated.
A jonin of another squad stepped up, Squad 12. He was wearing the standard konoha battle fatigues, he was lightly tanned with with brown eyes and short cut brown hair.
"I have a plan but the risk of fatalities is high. Squad 12 and Squad 29 will attack from the north and south of the outpost with Fire ninjutsu, we'll attack the center of the outpost with coordinated attacks forcing them to send units to stop us or die. When the kusa shinobi leave to confront us Uzumaki can use his senory ninjutsu to find the right time for squad 41 to infiltrate the kusa outpost, plant exploding tag with the seals he's created, bow it and retreat."
The chunin leader of squad 29 stepped into the conversation.
"It's risky, we won't be able to support each other. Our squad only has 4 chunin." He replied, He was a younger chunin around 16 with blue hair and green eyes. His face was marred with green poison tissue damage from a kusa attack.
Everyone turned to regard squad 41.
"You are the infiltrating force, if you don't think this plan will work then we'll scrap it. Time is of the essence. We don't know what kusa's full play is, they know they can't defeat konoha like this so whatever we decide it has to happen now." The jonin responded.
Naruto felt anxiety build within him.
A plan!? I can't be responsible for their lives! Naruto thought in his head clenching his fists. He opened his mouth to speak when Hana spoke up.
"This is the best plan that gets the job done. I support it."
"As do I." Ayame said giving her a nod.
Naruto tried to speak again when a sparrow landed on the arm of squad 12s jonin. As he read it his face grew grimmer.
"New information, Shinobi of the hidden stone have been spotted providing assistance to Kusa. "
"What?"
"That's a declaration of war!"
Indignation went around as the shinobis view was changed. This was going to be a lot harder.
"Quiet down, there hasn't been hidden stone shinobi intervention yet, just logistic support but that can change if this drags on. " He finished.
"Let's do it, it's the only way." Naruto finally responded as the shinobi focused on him.
"Here, for those of you that don't know fire Style, I made plenty of high grade explosive notes. Use them well." Naruto continued handing on the seals.
"Alright let's move."
The three squads waited until nightfall to execute their plan of attack. The two squads headed to the north and south respectively as squad 41 stayed hidden close by to infiltrate.
Naruto eyes closed, activated his sensory jutsu detecting the chakra of kusa leaf shinobi. He felt the intensity of chakra as numerous Fireballs erupted through the night.
"Woah." Hana said watching the Fireballs fly through the night inside the outpost with a devastating boom. At the same time numerous explosions hit the walls of the outpost evidence of narutos seals being used.
The battle had begun.
The roar of jutsu. Sounds of death throws pierced the night.
Narutos eyes snapped open.
"Let's move." They dissapeared tree hopping to the outpost.
They reappeared on top of the East outpost walls. Naruto quickly reached into his pouch grabbing 5 seals.
"This is a new seal I've been working on, it will do more to this outpost then blow it up but we need to place these at the northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest and north corners of the outpost. I'll take southeast and southwest." Naruto stated handing Hana and Ayame the new seal.
"I'll take north. Fighting is the closest there. Im prepared if im spotted." Ayame said.
"Then I guess I have the northeast and northwest. "
Reaching into another pouch he handed Hana one radio and Ayame another.
"Radio in when you've placed your seal."
"Squad 41 begin mission."
"Roger."
"Roger."
Naruto dashed South darting through the outpost, sticking to the shadow's. Keeping his sensory jutsu active while actively using chakra to enhance his muscled took a lot of concentration, sweat was building on his brow as he reached the southeast wall. He reached into his pouch and pulled out a kunai, dug a shallow hole and place the fuin tag down in the hole.
"First tag set." Hana whispered over the radio.
Lightly burying in he quickly dashed west to place the other.
"First tag set." Naruto whispered.
Naruto landed on top of a building overlooking the southwest outpost wall. Two kusa shinobi were stationed on top looking outwards for any leaf shinobi incursions.
Anything too loud will catch their attention. He thought to himself.
He went through three handseals dissapearing in the high speed movement jutsu. Appearing behind them he threw a kunai that pierced the back of the one on the let's head. As the one on the right turned to respond he placed his palm on his chest, a seal appeared and activated sending him to the ground and silencing his calls for alarm. Naruto quickly threw another kunai into his head.
With no more shinobi he jumped back down and took out a kuna digging another shallow hole and placed the seal in it before covering it up and jumping out over the southwest corner of the outpost.
"Final tag set, I'm clear."
"Tag set, I'm clear."
"Final tag set, I'm also clear."
Hearing his squads voices set him at ease as he quickly left the outpost heading for the rendezvous point.
Squad 41 materialized together on the outskirts of the outpost sharing brief smiles.
"So what is this seal suppose to do?" Hana ask hand on her with an inquisitive look on her face.
"I'm also curious, exoloding tags would have worked fine." Ayame stated
"Sit back and watch a master at work. " Naruto replied forming five handseals.
"Release.." a tremor started almost shaking Hana and Ayame from their position in the treeline.
They added chakra to their feet to stay rooted as they watched a crack appear in the ground from the north of the outpost to each section where the tags were placed destroying all the building and burying the section of earth around the outpost underground.
"Naruto... what did you do?" Hana asked wide-eyed. Ayame speechless behind her.
Naruto smirked. "This seal creates fault lines In the tectonic plates In a hexagonal section indicated by where my seals are placed. It acts like an earthquake shifting the plates 40 meters down and we know what happens when the tectonic plates shift."
Before his teammates could reply he continued
"Let's head out to the other konoha forces, I can sense them regrouping. "
"Uhh right."
"Lead the way."
They arrived to the other two squads offering each first aid. They nodded to squad 41 who nodded back.
"Let's head back. Because of whatever you three did, we suffered zero casualties. "
"It was Naruto's seals that did that." Ayame replied causing the other shinobi to look at him in a new light.
They departed back to the konoha outpost to report to commander kaito.
