As promised! Here is the start of the wedding write up. I am definitely not sure - but I'm estimating 4-5 chapters for this. Enjoy!
"You remember our story?" Sophie asked Dean for what must have been the tenth time that day.
It was two weeks out until their wedding and her parents were coming into Sioux Falls that night. Sophie was making dinner for everyone at Bobby's - she'd had Sam cleaning and rearranging furniture all day - then she would spend the next fourteen days going to a dozen wedding appointments with her mom and sister.
"I am a Rail Freight Conductor for Union Pacific," Dean replied, "You have fake tax documents and everything because you are insane. We met when I was on my way up to vacation in the Bruce Peninsula. I travel a lot. We've been dating for six months and I proposed last month. We're tying the knot fast because you want to get a visa before I'm out on the road again."
"My new scars are from?" Sophie asked.
"When we'd been together about three months you and I decided to take a road trip with some of my time off. We went out to Wyoming. You were attacked by a grizzly while we were backpacking."
"And I have three fake news articles to prove it," Sophie said. She paused, took a deep breath and then continued.
"And my dad enjoys…" Sophie prompted as she kneaded challah dough and kept a watchful eye on her pan of cabbage rolls in the oven.
"Pro wrestling, baseball - specifically the Blue Jays - vodka, and old trucks. But not old cars," Dean replied, "He is a master plumber. He hates communism, light beer, and raccoons."
"And my mom?"
"Retired preschool teacher," Dean said, "Very catholic. Very. Very. Catholic. Loves cooking. Good at baking but she hates it. Makes quilts that look like Orthodox icons in her free time. And…before you ask…your sister is Anna. Anna is twenty and she is at school in Guelph to be a veterinarian. Her boyfriend is named Toby and he is a phlebotomy technician. Your dad has mixed feelings about Toby because he isn't Polish, but your mom likes him because he can name all of the original seventy disciples."
"And if my dad asks what war you fought in?" Sophie prompted.
Dean stopped short.
"If he asks what?"
"You've got that look," Sophie said, "The I've seen people die look."
Dean remembered. They'd talked about it late last night.
"Two months ago someone killed themselves in front of my train," Dean replied, swallowing hard, "Haven't quite gotten over it."
"Good good," Sophie said, "Now go clean up. Suit but no tie. The blue one. Got it?"
"Got it my love," Dean replied with a chuckle, kissing her head.
"Hey," he continued, putting his hands on her shoulders and turning her to face him, "You look beautiful you know that?"
"I'm covered in flour," Sophie protested.
"Just like the day I met you," he said, kissing her gently.
