Since you all voted for a Part 2, I have it right here! As you can tell from last chapter, Sonic and the others changed some parts in the storyline, resulting in a shocking cliffhanger on who Elina really is, along with discovering Maria, who is the long-lost half-sister of Shadow & Mephiles – whom they thought she had died. Now we'll see how the otome story will progress since Elina is no longer the main character. I hope you all like it!
Rays of light peeked through the curtains, indicating morning has risen. A figure who slept under the covers felt the light hitting his face, causing him to mumble as he let out a huge yawn. Groggily sitting up from his warm comfy bed, he rubbed his tired eye with one hand while the other stretched towards the ceiling, hearing a crack in his bones.
Pushing the blanket away as he swung his legs over the edge of the bed, his eyes spotted the time on his alarm clock.
8:56 a.m.
Thankfully, it's the weekend so he doesn't have to worry about being late. Plus, he's now fully recovered and here at the spooky house after he got discharged from the hospital. Even though the real reason why this house is haunted is due to the fact it was abandoned and no one bothered to clean the place up, Sonic and the guys decided to clean the whole place from top and bottom, which made the deceased former owner of this mansion who is now a ghost grateful and happy.
"Now her soul can rest in peace as long as we take good care of it," Sonic mumbled to himself, then let out another yawn as he got up and headed over to the bathroom.
He did his business, washed his hands, brushed his teeth, splashed water on his face, and then came out of the bathroom. Slipping his feet into some fuzzy slippers, he left his bedroom and went downstairs over to where the kitchen is, deciding to get a head start on breakfast.
Surprisingly, the ghost of the mansion left a lot of fresh food and made sure all the utilities are on so Sonic and the boys can live comfortably in the mansion before she departed from this world. She even made sure they didn't have to pay any rent since they now own this mansion. The inside may look appear nice and cozy, but the outside freaks out any passerby who sees the exterior.
Oh well. It's the best place where the boys can reside in until they figure out a way to return back to their world. So in the meantime, take it easy and not get injured or killed in this novel. Getting the ingredients out, he decided to make his world-famous pancakes. As he kept himself busy making them, whistling a tune while seeing the sun's rays peeking from the windows covered with curtains, he heard footsteps approaching the kitchen.
"Good morning, Sonic!" Gadget happily greeted him, dressed in an oversized white shirt with one shoulder revealed and a pair of green shorts.
"Good morning, Gadget," Sonic turned his head, smiling at his friend. "I'm making pancakes for all of us. Sound good?"
"It sure does! Need any help?"
"Could you cut up some fruit for me?"
"Of course!"
As Gadget did that, they got to work on getting the food prepared. Pretty soon, the smell wafted throughout the entire house, causing the remaining two occupants who were asleep upstairs to awaken. Placing 4 plates on the table stacked with a pile of pancakes in different flavors, Gadget finished placing the glasses of milk and juice, condiments, and toppings at the center of the table when Silver and Manic walked in.
"Good morning, you two!" Silver greeted them, wearing a gray tank-top with matching gray shorts.
"Morning!" Manic raised his hand up to greet them, wearing a spaghetti strap green top with black lace on the front to hide his cleavage with the straps down to reveal his shoulders with a matching pair of mini green shorts with black lace attached to the hem.
As for Sonic, he wore an off the shoulder oversized red shirt with a number 1 on it and black shorts. He greeted his friend and brother, then gestured to the feast on the table. "Dig in, everyone. I made our favorites."
"Awesome! We get your pancakes!"
"They look amazing!"
"Thanks, Sonic!"
Once they sat down and did their prayers, they started adding what they wanted on their pancakes: Sonic got blueberry pancakes, Silver got banana pancakes, Manic got chocolate chip pancakes, and Gadget got strawberry pancakes. Moaning in delight at how delicious they were, they enjoyed their breakfast as they began to chatter.
"Now that you know who is no longer the main character of this story, what happens now?" Sonic asked.
Gadget pulled the book out, placed it on the table, and opened it. "I checked last night, and the plot has changed. Because we altered the storyline, the ending is now different." He took a sip of his milk, then placed the glass back on its coaster. "Elina is no longer the famous heroine, but now an evil villainess who tricked the male leads into falling in love with her. Instead, Maria will now play a major role in the story since she isn't deceased."
"The novel changed just like that?" Silver questioned. "Did us not following the plot altered the story?"
"I believe so," Gadget flipped a page. "The author of this story is anonymous, but did mention in her autobiography that she wanted to create a major plot twist to her readers on whom is really the good character and the bad character."
"Different from how Sonia read it," Manic took a bite of his pancake. "But on the bright side, no more seeing that fake bimbo."
"And Maria is now fully recovered," Sonic added. "Shadow mentioned she is already making progress on getting her strength back, and doesn't have to use the wheelchair anymore."
"Mephiles told me she is able to handle food well without feeling nauseous, and gained a healthy amount of weight," Silver recalled from his cellphone. "However, she can't go out anywhere without them sticking to her side."
"The novel mentioned that the gang leaders held a temporary truce until Maria is fully recovered," Gadget read from a page. "They increased security so she wouldn't get kidnapped again."
"Along with making sure every member of the Blonde family is gone for good," Manic replied.
"And the secret of her having golden blood can never be leaked to the public," Gadget finished as he closed the novel and placed it back in his belt. "I heard from Zero that he and Scourge took care of the black market along with the people who bought Maria's blood."
"Which is something we don't want to know what they did," Sonic took another bite of his pancake.
Silver nodded, also eating his pancake. "By the way, was it really a good idea to give the Chaos Emeralds to the gang leaders?"
"I still thought it was a dumb idea. We could've just sold it to them in exchange for cash!" Manic huffed.
Gadget sighs. "Unfortunately, the final clue wasn't located in the woods. We were given a false lead, and the guys already knew about us having the Chaos Emeralds, so we didn't have a choice."
Sonic moaned in agony. "Does this mean I flirted with Shadow at the music room for nothing!?"
Silver blushed. "I-I thought he and Mephiles were flirting with us?"
"More like wanting us to make the first move after we saw their chest fur."
"I'm surprised how soft it was."
"I know!"
Manic smirked, sipping on his drink. "Give us details, you two. How sexy are they?"
"Strong and hot," Sonic stated. "And Shadow's smirk can drive anyone wild."
"Besides Mephiles having a god-like figure, I never knew he would be that handsome up close," Silver's face turned red at the time he saw Mephiles at the music room. "Even his mouth was sexy."
"Mine had nice scars on those rock-hard abs of his," Manic licked his lips. "Too bad he's a huge pervert who's after my ass."
"Zero didn't mind that I called him hot, but did thanked me for my honesty," Gadget's cheeks turned pink as he smiled shyly. "He also looked really cool wearing black."
"Then its official. We all got it bad for the gang leaders who are the male leads of this story," Sonic proclaimed.
"Yup!"
"Oh yeah."
"Yes."
"Except we can't fall in love because they're just storybook characters, and we're not sure if they're straight or not," Sonic let out a sad sigh.
"That's right."
"Damn it!"
"Aw man."
At night
"Sleepover!" they shouted in unison, laughing as their backs hit the mountain of pillows resting on the ground.
Figuring that they needed a cheering up, Sonic suggested they have a guys' sleepover in the living room, which the boys happily agreed to. They all finished their breakfast, changed, went shopping for snacks and drinks, movies, then arrived back at their spooky home. First, they placed the stuff they got on the table, then went to every room in the house to get all the pillows, blankets, and everything needed to create a giant fort in the living room.
Once they finished creating their fort after rearranging the furniture, they added fairy string lights to make the living room appear magical. Then, they placed the pillows on the soft carpet and spread them around under their blanket fort. Next, they put the plates, utensils, napkins, cups, and other necessities on the blanket.
Placing the boxes of pizza, bowls of chips and popcorn, platter filled with chili dogs, and many liters of soda along with sweet treats, the boys resided in their fort, deciding to start their guys' sleepover with a movie. Wearing the same pajamas they slept in last night, Manic got the remote out and turned on the TV in front of them, scrolling through Netflix while searching for the movie they want. "Anyone up for a Scary Movie parody or Twilight?"
"Twilight!" Sonic, Silver, and Gadget replied in unison.
Just when Manic is about to click on the Twilight movie, they heard a knock on the door. Looking at each other in confusion, Sonic got up and went over to where the door is, peeking through the door hole. A surprised expression appeared on his face as he unlocked the door and opened it. "Maria?"
Maria smiled sweetly, waving at him. "Hi Sonic! I'm glad I found the right house!"
"Glad you did," Sonic looked behind her. "Did you came with someone?"
"Not at all. I arrived alone."
"A-Alone!?" Sonic quickly ushered her inside, closing the door as he locked it. "Does Shadow know you're here!?"
Maria nervously fidgeted with her fingers. "He and Mephiles believe I'm still sleeping in my room."
"So you snuck out?" Sonic placed one hand on his cocked hip. "And you were able to get here by yourself without getting kidnapped?"
"I learned how to blend in with the darkness so no one would see me. Plus, I have my pepper spray and taser on me."
"Except your brothers would get the wrong idea and think you got captured again."
"They won't because I disabled the tracking device they placed on my phone."
"Tracking device!?"
"Oi! Who was at the door?" Manic approached them, then stopped in astonishment. "Maria? Is that you?"
"Hello Manic!" Maria happily waved at him. "I like your pajamas."
"Thanks, and nice dress."
"Thank you! Shadow and Mephiles bought this just for me! It's so comfy and pretty!"
"Maria!?" Silver and Gadget entered from the living room.
"Wow! All 4 of you live here!? This house is amazing!" Maria's eyes sparkled in awe at the interior. "It's so warm and cozy in here!"
Wanting to know the full story, the boys gave her a pair of house slippers to wear so her feet would feel more comfortable, and brought her over to their blanket fort where she can sit down where the pillows are. Pouring a moderate amount of Mountain Dew in a small cup, Gadget gave her the drink while Silver offered a plate of snacks and cookies. She happily accepted the offers, sipping the drink and munching on a chocolate chip cookie.
"Wait, you actually snuck out of your room without being seen?" Manic grinned. "I had no idea you could be a rule breaker."
"But why though? I thought you wanted to spend more time with your family?" Silver asked.
Maria sadly sighed, as she placed her cup on a coaster. "After my discharge at the hospital when I fully recovered, Shadow and Mephiles took me to our old home, which is the Doom Mansion. They cleaned up everything from the inside to the outside, and even decorated the front and back gardens so I would feel happy again."
She then placed her hands on her lap. "Besides seeing my favorite garden, I saw how they kept my room the same. However, they cleaned everything up and gave me lots of presents to make up all the birthdays I missed during my captivity. I find it sweet that everyone at the mansion wanted me to feel safe and comfortable again, but it started to become a little suffocated."
"Suffocated?" Gadget asked.
"My father Black Doom was able to arrive quickly from his international business trip and ordered the best security to keep me safe and prevent a repeat of what happened to me years ago. Shadow and Mephiles ordered their best men to become my bodyguards so they can make sure no one comes near me nor look at me in a funny way. If I want to go somewhere such as the garden, I must have someone with me."
"And how long did it last?" Sonic questioned.
"It felt like a very long time, but it was on the day I was discharged from the hospital. I didn't mind at first, but it started to irritate me, especially when I learned that I cannot go to the city until they're certain I'm no longer in danger. They wouldn't even let me enroll in the academy and prefer to homeschool me at home with the best tutors they can find."
Maria pouted, puffing her cheeks. "I begged my family to let me go to the same school my brothers are in, but their answer was no. They even gave me a set of rules such as no dating anyone until I'm 21, no smoking, no drinking, no drugs, bedtime by 10:00 p.m., no chatting with online strangers on the Internet, remain abstinent, no watching anything inappropriate on the TV or computer, and always tell them where I am going or what I need."
Manic whistled. "Damn, that's rough."
"But the final straw is when they wouldn't let me go out to see you boys! They know you 4 are my saviors, but they want me to remain under house arrest for my safety! Because of that, I wanted to get out of the house and see you 4 again. Thankfully, my brothers and father had to go out for a work-related meeting and wouldn't be back until midnight, so I decided to sneak out of my room."
She counted her fingers. "I placed stuffed animals in my bed to make it look like I'm there sleeping, opened the window where my balcony is, used a bedsheet and tied it with the poles so I could use it as a ladder, made sure the coast is clear, and carefully climbed down. I was lucky to untie my bedsheet and hid it in the bushes so no one would notice. Then, I disabled the tracking device on my phone and used it to find you 4, which thankfully, isn't too far from where I live."
"Without being seen by anyone?" Gadget gaped.
Maria happily nodded. "I stayed hidden in the shadows, and ran as fast as I could towards my destination without making a noise. Thankfully, there was no one in sight, and I was able to get here as fast as I could without breaking a sweat."
"But how did you know where we lived?" Silver asked.
"Sonic mentioned at the hospital all of you lived here at this mansion you dubbed the spook house, so it wasn't too hard to find you guys," Maria giggled.
Sonic sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "I'm surprised Shadow was shocked to hear that we live here. Thankfully, you prevented him from asking more questions about our living arrangements."
"Not at all. And now that I'm here, I see that you were all creating a blanket fort?" Maria checked her surroundings.
"We sure are!" Sonic gestured to their new decoration. "Right now, we're hosting a sleepover, and you're our lucky guest to come join us!"
"Really! A sleepover!?" Maria gasped in excitement. "I'd be honored to participate!"
"You're in luck because we were about to enjoy all this delicious food while watching the Twilight series," Manic winked. "Wanna do that?"
"Yes please!" Maria happily clasped her hands together.
As Manic started the movie, the boys offered Maria a variety of food they have she could try. Thankfully, she was able to tolerate them and enjoyed eating the food with joy. But what got her excited are the desserts, including her favorite chocolate cake with raspberries and whipped cream on top. She even liked the ice cream, cookies, macarons, and creampuffs they received from the bakery.
"I was able to read the Twilight book, but only the first one. It was one of the few books I liked when I was held captive," Maria said, as she watched the movie with the boys.
Silver gently patted her back. "We got the whole Twilight series. We'll lend them to you and once you finish reading them, we can watch the rest of the series."
"Are you sure?"
"Yup! We don't want to spoil anything for you."
"You guys are the best!"
After the first Twilight movie ended, they moved on to another movie, which is a comedy. During that time, they finished their food by the time the movie ended. Stomachs satisfied and done with the movies, they moved onto playing board games. After that is story-telling time, and they even asked Maria to help them repaint their nails, which she happily obliged.
"I can't remember the last time I ever had a sleepover," Maria painted Sonic's claws with blue nail paint.
"You ever had one with your brothers?" Sonic gazed at his new nail paint.
"I did recall we made a huge fort one time, but never got the chance to have a sleepover because we weren't allowed to stay up past our bedtime."
"Bummer. But how is this one?"
"The best sleepover ever!"
"Glad to hear it," Sonic admired his claws. "Now I look fabulous."
"We all do," Manic smirked, showing off his forest green nail paint. "After they're dry, we're showing her how gorgeous we look in our outfits."
"Fashion time?" Silver admired his sparkly silver nail paint.
"Definitely fashion time!" Gadget wagged his tail while blowing at his claws painted with red nail paint.
The next day
"I'm telling you you're insane!" Scourge wildly flapped his arms.
Shadow glared at him ferociously. "I know she's in there! Her location pinged at this site!"
"Why would she even come to the old spook house!? It's haunted by an old witch who hates people!"
"A certain someone I know of also lives there with his brother and friends."
"Who's the idiot that would live there!?"
"Silence!" Mephiles roared, glaring daggers at him. "Step aside and let us through. This part of the territory is ours."
"No way! It's actually neutral!" Scourge glared back, then looked at his ally. "Tell them, Infinite! No one had claimed this part of the neighborhood!"
Infinite, also known as Zero, rolled his eyes. "Why was I dragged here again?"
"You're here as my witness so I can prove that no one owns this territory!"
"It's just an old, abandoned mansion. The only reason no one chose to live there is due to the history behind it."
"Along with how creepy that place is!"
"You two are wrong. We own this plot since it's not too far from our home," Mephiles narrowed his eyes in anger. "Now step aside or die."
Before anyone could say anything, they heard someone shouting at them. They turned their heads to find a familiar lime green hedgehog popping his head out from the window.
"KEEP IT DOWN! THERE ARE OLD PEOPLE SLEEPING IN HERE!" Manic gave them the middle finger before going back inside the house, shut the window, and drew the curtains closed.
Shadow arched his eyebrow in confusion. "What the hell was that?"
"Vixen?" Scourge gaped, then grinned evilly as he licked his lips. "Aw yes! Now I know where he lives!"
"Meaning Silver and the other 3 must be in there with Maria," Mephiles headed towards the door. "Time for us to make an entrance."
"Indeed," Shadow followed behind him.
"Time to see my little wolf," Zero sprinted up the steps.
"I'm coming, vixen!" Scourge tagged along.
Mephiles pounded on the door, but no one came to answer it. Shadow did the same, not hearing anyone approach the door. Letting out a huge scoff, both he and his brother used their legs to kick the door open, causing the hinges to break. Stepping inside, they were surprised at first to see that the interior is actually nice, but it changed when they made it to the living room.
A huge blanket fort had been set up, and underneath it were 5 individuals resting comfortably under a huge comforter to keep them warm. Their sister Maria is sleeping in the middle, while Sonic and Silver are sleeping on either side of her with their arms draped over her, almost as if they were hugging her. Manic was sleeping on his side with his back facing Sonic, and Gadget slept on his back next to Silver.
Eyes softening at the sight of her resting comfortably, Shadow sighed and ushered the others over. "Scourge. Infinite. Pick up your flowers first."
"No need to tell us twice," Scourge approached Manic's side, pulled the comforter down, then picked him up in a bridal position.
Infinite did the same with Gadget, who was resting comfortably in his arms. Shadow peeled Sonic's arm off of Maria, while Mephiles did the same with Silver. Both boys yawned cutely, turning to the other side as they snored. Chuckling at their cute display, the twins gently shook their sister awake.
Yawning, her eyelids fluttered open, revealing a pair of tired sky-blue eyes. Blinking a few times, her vision cleared up to see a pair of red eyes and green eyes looking at her, causing her eyes to widen as she squeaked and pulled the comforter over her head, hoping not to be seen.
Mephiles pulled the comforter off her. "We can see you, little sister."
"And you have a lot of explaining to do on how you got here," Shadow frowned, pulling her up so she can stand.
Maria nervously gulped, pointing her two fingers together as she looked down at her feet in interest. "Well-
"Stop right there," Shadow placed his hand up, scanning her appearance. "What are you wearing?"
She looked down at her pajamas, then back at Shadow. "An oversized blue shirt and gray pants?"
"I don't remember getting them for you," Shadow narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
"Neither do I," Mephiles tilted his head. "Where did you get that outfit?"
Before she could answer, their ears picked up on some loud yawns. Looking down, they saw Sonic and Silver slowly rising up from their sleep, rubbing their eyes while mumbling. Once they were fully awake, they saw Maria and her brothers in the living room, causing them to quickly sit up and looked around.
"Did someone break in or something!?" Sonic looked through the entrance. "And why is the front door broken!?"
"But more importantly, how did you know where we live?" Silver pointed at Mephiles and Shadow with a suspicious look.
Shadow snarled. "Answer us first! Why were we not informed of our sister being here!?"
"You better tell us the truth before we get it out of you," Mephiles leaned his face dangerously close to Silver's.
Silver took a step back, gulping at his eyes glowing neon green. "W-We wanted her to experience the life of a normal teenager, so we hosted a sleepover at our house."
"She found our place, enjoyed the food we gave her, watched a bunch of movies with us, played board games, and did a bunch of fun stuff before we went to bed," Sonic listed. "I gave her my pajamas so she can sleep comfortably in them."
"Your pajamas!?" Shadow seethed.
"Easy, hot stuff! They've been washed, dried, and ironed perfectly so she can wear them comfortably at night!"
"That still doesn't explain why we were never informed of her coming here! And what did you just call me!?"
"We wanted to have a fun sleepover with no interruptions! Calling you would result in you and your massive army barging in with your weapons and frightening not just us, but the whole neighborhood as well!" Sonic placed a hand on his hip. "I called you hot stuff as a pet name. If you don't like it, I can call you Shads."
"First of all, Maria is supposed to be safe at her home, not here at your spooky house!" Shadow took a step forward, leaning his face forward that was dangerously close to Sonic's. "I don't know how she got here, but it won't happen again!" He then grabbed Sonic's chin. "Also, you cannot call me that. I prefer to be called Shadow or the King of Darkness."
Sonic smirked at him, then pecked his nose. "Como quieras, luz de luna."
Shadow tightened his grip on him, ignoring the blush on his cheeks. "Yo cuidaría lo que dices si fuera tú, erizo azul."
"No gracias. Prefiero felicitarte mi amada luna."
"Estas jugando con fuego, sol."
"Qué puedo decir? Vivo por la emoción."
"Eres un raro, azulito."
"Yo también te amo, alma mía."
With their eyes half-lidded, both hedgehogs pressed their lips against each other, letting their hands roam each other's bodies as they ignored the loud gasps and shrieks from their family and friends. Sonic didn't pay attention to the wolf-whistle from Manic nor the shocked expression Silver & Gadget were giving him, since the only thing he could focus on is this sexy beast who wants to devour him. Maybe it's possible for the novel to be changed from an otome visual novel to a BL novel instead.
"Did he really tasted like chocolate?~" Manic smirked at his brother.
Sonic smirked back. "The best chocolate I have ever tasted~"
"Good for you~ Mine tasted like key lime pie~"
"Did he really?~"
"That or mint, but I didn't care because all I could think about is feeling those strong hands touching me and-
"Okay! Enough!" Silver threw a pillow at them. "We get it that you fell in love with Shadow and Scourge! No more dirty talk!"
Manic snickered. "Jealous that you couldn't make out with your man?~"
Silver glared at him. "I respect Mephiles! I won't kiss him without his consent!"
"I never mentioned whom~"
"I-I know what you were thinking, so stop thinking about it!"
"Your face turned red when you saw his mouth and-
Silver tackled him, hitting him with a pillow while yelling at him to stop talking. Manic was busy laughing, using his arms to protect himself from getting hit with the pillow. Sonic chuckled, shaking his head at them as he turned his head to look at their friend. "So Gadget, how are things going between you and your crush?"
Gadget turned red, gazing at his lap in interest. "Z-Zero and I have been getting along great together. B-Besides meeting his squad, I-I was able to learn a little bit more about him."
"Such as?"
"He likes taking nightly walks in the forest, enjoys eating baklava, protective of his squad, has a heated rivalry with Shadow, loves meat, has a 6 pack, and his hair is really soft and silky."
Gadget's eyes lit up as he continued to speak. "One time, I saw him wearing an outfit that looked really cool on him! He even had another outfit with a cape attached, making him look mysterious and ominous! It's like I actually met the Phantom from my favorite book!"
Sonic quirked his eyebrow. "Phantom of the Opera?"
"That and the Phantom! Even the mask he had on is captivating!" Gadget felt his tail wagging excitedly, holding his fists up in excitement. "Even though he is the Leader of the Jackal Squad Gang, he reminds me of a famous idol singer! If he ever released a music album, I want to buy all of his copies!"
"Sounds like you have fallen in love with Zero," Sonic pointed out.
"I do! Being with him gives me butterflies, and my heart can never stop pounding whenever I'm with him!" Gadget smiled wide.
"Great! You can go ahead and tell him because he's right behind you."
Gadget froze, slowly turning his head to see his crush standing behind the couch smirking at him with one hand on his hip, making himself look cool. Gadget slowly turned his head back, looked at Sonic, then fainted. Zero jumped over the couch, picked up Gadget, then sat down on the couch while holding his little wolf in his lap, cradling him in his arms.
As for Silver, Mephiles appeared and held him up by his waist, stopping him from hitting Manic. "Put me down, Mephiles! I'm not done killing Manic!"
Mephiles shook his head. "Ease your anger, snowflake. Killing him would result in Scourge killing you for murdering his lover."
"I ain't afraid of him!"
"Good, because I won't hold back!" Scourge grinned evilly, pulling his gun out from his holster. "If you want to challenge the King, then you need to make an appointment with one of my associates and-
He didn't get to finish when he felt someone grabbing his jacket and pull him close for his lips to meet with Manic's. Deciding to threaten the white hedgehog later, Scourge placed the gun back in his holster and let himself enjoy the kiss his babe is giving him. He ignored the fact everyone is watching them, but fuck them. Being with his hot sexy vixen is much better than listening to their complaints.
Sonic face-palmed. "Okay, Gadget is out of commission and Manic is busy eating his boyfriend's face." He slid his hand down in exasperation then looked around. "By the way, you guys never told us the real reason why we were brought here."
"I'll give you that answer," he heard Shadow say, who appeared out of nowhere. "And before you ask, Maria is confined in her room and is not allowed to hear what we have to say. This is something only members of the gang can hear."
"You mean we're part of a gang meeting or something?" Sonic pointed his finger at Zero. "I thought you and Mr. Jackal here are sworn enemies?"
"We are, and he is here for a specific reason," Shadow sat on the couch next to him.
Once everyone is seated, the meeting started when Gadget woke up, who was blushing up a storm when he realized that he was in Zero's arms and resting on his lap. Surprisingly, he didn't mind and remained being cradled by his crush, who was busy stroking his head.
Clearing his throat, Shadow opened his mouth to speak. "As you may already know, the 4 of us are leaders of the most dangerous gangs who run this whole city. Preferably known as gangsters, we each have separate controls on many specific territories: I own the North side, Mephiles owns the West Side, Scourge owns the East Side, and Infinite owns the South Side."
He folded his arms over his chest with one leg crossed over the other. "Mephiles and I control the Black Arms, Scourge controls the Destructix, and Infinite controls the Jackal Squad. We each have a neutral alliance and annihilate anyone who dare oppose us." He glanced over at Sonic. "For example, the foolish coyote and his crew you and your friend Silver encountered was a spy planted from a rival gang in another city. What we do to spies can cause you to have nightmares for the rest of your miserable life."
Sonic raised his hand up. "Scarier than seeing your uncle making hardcore love to a stranger whom he never told us about?"
"Or someone you know whose dad had a grandpa covered in fish guts and hairy pimples?" Manic pondered. "Wait, that only gives you a baby barf."
Silver gasped, then snapped his fingers. "I did remember the time my grandfather Venice had the chicken pox! It was definitely scary when you guys helped me rub calamine lotion on him."
Gadget quivered. "Please never make us do that ever again. I couldn't eat chicken for nearly a week after that!"
"Who knew Uncle Chuck has a huge crush on his rival?"
"I always knew he and that Typhon guy were secretly fucking when we're not there."
"Grandpa Venice took his shots, so he'll never get the chicken pox again."
"Did he took the Shingles vaccine? He's gonna need it since he already got the chicken pox."
"AHEM!"
They quieted down, as Shadow glared at them ferociously. "As I was saying before you all interrupted me, no one is allowed to cross paths with the gang leaders nor their members. The citizens all knew the rules, and they know what happens if you snitch on us!"
Mephiles agreed. "He is correct. Unfortunately, we all forgot who we really are when we met that cursed witch called Elina."
Scourge scoffed. "I never liked her so-called innocent personality, and she even keeps tricking me by making me think she wants to sleep with me, but it never happened!" He growled, clenching his fists in anger. "I should've known she had plastic surgery from the start! My teammate was right about her having a fake voluptuous body!"
"Thank god my squad reminded me of my title, along with whom she had been associated with," Zero tsked, hugging Gadget close to his chest.
"The only reason Mephiles and I were close to her is because she strangely resembled our sister Maria, which is a huge mistake on our part," Shadow massaged his head. "She is nothing like our sweet sister Maria. At least we all use our heads while the witch doesn't have any common sense in her head!"
"And now, she is gone for good. We brought justice for our little princess," Mephiles let out a dark chuckle. "Now we can focus on what we really want."
"Indeed, brother," Shadow said, as he turned his head to gaze at Sonic. "Sonic, you are officially my Lantana flower. No one is allowed to mess with you unless they want to face death by me and my gang."
"Silver, you are my apple blossom. You're mine and I won't let anyone take you away from me," Mephiles pulled his mask down and kissed Silver's lips, who turned red as he felt his tail wagging with happiness.
Scourge smirked, placing his arm around Manic. "Babe, you are also mine. The flower I pick for you is a marigold, which is one of my favorites."
"And you are my rare lotus flower, little wolf," Zero caressed Gadget's face, then kissed his lips. "You're mine forever."
The gang leaders kissed their lovers, while the boys were blushing red at their confession. However, they had forgotten one detail in the novel that they were supposed to specifically follow:
Do not fall in love! Going home comes first!
1 week later
"You guys ready?" Sonic leaned against the railing.
Silver nodded, looking over to where they can see the whole city. "It's the highest place we're at."
"All we had to do is take the stairs all the way to the top," Gadget commented.
Manic nodded, folding his arms under his chest. "Fang should've given them the tape by now."
"Meaning they're now watching it, and they don't believe it," Sonic sadly smiled, hugging his arms. "Even though we love those guys, we can't stay because this isn't our world. We gotta return to Sonia and to the rest of our family. They have no idea where we are."
"Thankfully, Amy and Blaze bought our lie that we're going on vacation, which is why we can't go back to the academy," Silver replied.
Manic checked his phone, then placed it back in his pocket. "We gotta start now. They're gonna send their men out to find us!"
They all got over the railing, leaning back as they saw the edge of the cliff below them. Knowing what they must do is dangerous, the final clue mentioned it's the only way to return back to their home. Now that they completed all their tasks and helped Maria be safe with her family again, their time here is completely up.
"On the count of 3, we jump," Sonic looked at them, who all nodded as they held hands together. "1… 2…. 3!"
They jumped off the cliff, letting their bodies tumble down in the air as they ignored the loud shouts and cries to stop. Closing their eyes, everything turned dark when their bodies hit the ground.
When Sonic opened his eyes, they were back in the living room of his and Manic's home. Sonia was there ranting about a novel she got from the bookstore, which turned out to be a total cliché as she called it. Silver, Gadget, and Manic were already awake when she slammed the book on the table.
"Honestly, why couldn't they make the male leads smarter instead of falling for someone like the heroine!" Sonia huffed in anger. "They only like her because of her looks and body! How could she be an innocent daffodil when she's actually an ugly vixen!?"
"Because the novel is for single people?" Manic commented.
"What was that!?"
"Or mostly because they imagine themselves to be the heroine who gets all the hot guys and-
A pillow was thrown at his face, muffling the rest of his answer as Sonia stomped upstairs to her room, prompting to ignore Manic as he removed the pillow from his face. "I'm being honest here!"
Silver looked around. "W-We're back home?"
"We are," Sonic said. "On the day and time when Sonia showed us that novel."
Gadget picked up the book she left on the table. "It's the same one. Was it even real or a dream?"
Sonic glanced at the cover. "It wasn't a dream."
"You positive?" Manic asked.
"Yeah. We were all there."
"I too was there with you guys," Silver said.
"Me too," Gadget replied.
Suddenly, the book started to glow, causing them to gasp as the cover had changed. Instead of showing the heroine with the 4 male leads in the story, it showed the 4 male leads with solemn expressions as they each held a flower in their hand: Shadow holding a lantana, Mephiles holding an apple blossom, Scourge holding a marigold, and Infinite holding a lotus.
"Flowers of the Gangsters," Silver read. "That's their new title?"
"Did us being in the story interfered with the original plot?" Gadget questioned.
Before any of them could think of an answer, they heard someone calling out to them. They couldn't tell where the voices are coming from, but it seemed like it was coming from all over the house. Sonic closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he was no longer in the living room. Instead, he was resting on a huge velvet bed surrounded with cushions.
He wasn't alone when he felt a pair of arms hugging him, turning his body so he'll be pressed with another. His gaze met with ruby red eyes as he felt his nose getting pecked. "Mi Lantana~"
"S-Shadow?" Sonic whispered in awe. "H-How did I get here?"
Shadow kissed him. "No need to ask questions, sun-sun~ Instead, let your mind be free as our souls intertwine under the full moon~"
Pulling him into a deep kiss, Sonic moaned as he felt hands roaming under his shirt, feeling Shadow's strong hands caressing his chest. Knowing what is about to happen since they almost did this before, Sonic hugged his neck as he felt Shadow resting on top of him, removing his clothes as Sonic did the same with him.
Even though Sonic had questions on how he is here, his mind wouldn't let him speak since its still hazy from Shadow pleasuring him with kisses. Okay, after they finish their love making, he must answer Sonic's questions. After all, this is definitely a weird dream Sonic is having and none of this is real… right?
