Today, in class, everyone was supposed to give a presentation on an important person in French history. However, Chloé had decided to do a presentation on herself as Queen Bee.
Everyone was watching as Chloé recorded herself costumed as Queen Bee and as Ladybug in the former's 'secret lair', which was, in fact, the balcony on her bedroom, with a caption bar reading 'Chloé TV' on a strip of corrugated cardboard.
"Welcome to my secret lair," said Chloé-Bee. "I may be a superhero, but I'm always happy to share my thrilling life with all my fans. Like today, my dear friend Ladybug showed up to ask me for advice."
"I admire Queen Bee so much," said Chloé-Bug. "She showed me what being a superhero is all about and always fixes the messes Cat Noir and I get ourselves into."
"Oh, please. You would do the same for me."
"Come on! Like you would ever cause a mess."
"You're right."
She then laughed conceitedly, with Chloé-Bug joined with the same laughter.
"That's not Ladybug, that's you, Chloé!" Ivan burst out out loud, and the entire class laughed.
"Of course, that's the real Ladybug!" said Chloé indignantly.
Marinette facepalmed herself.
"But Chloé, could you tell me why you chose to do an assignment about yourself? Uh— I mean, about Queen Bee?" Miss Bustier asked.
"Well, our assignment was to choose an important person in French history, and I actually saved France. Even Ladybug says so…" She then clicked on the remote to continue the recording.
"Queen Bee really makes us stronger…" said Chloé-Bee.
"…she truly is Miraculous," said Chloé and Chloé-Bug in unison.
"Chloé, it's so obvious that you dressed up as Ladybug," said Alya. "You didn't even bother to match her hair colour."
"Uh… she… just… dyed her hair blonde to look like me," said Chloé awkwardly, and the entire class laughed again.
"I'm blind, and I can even tell that it's you and not Ladybug," said Jack.
"Ugh, you're all a bunch of losers!" Chloé glared, but her expression softened when she looked at Adrien. "Except you, Adrikins." She then raised her voice again towards the rest of the class. "None of you deserve to see the rest of my documentary."
Marinette rolled her eyes with an annoyed glare. "Oh, what a shame."
The class laughed even louder, and she stood there in shock at what he said and covered her mouth.
Chloé looked around, confused as to why everyone was laughing and then saw Sabrina just as hard. She quickly stopped laughing the moment Chloé laid eyes on her.
"I saw you laughing with the other idiots; you're fired!" she said.
"Whahaha, I betrayed my best friend!" Sabrina cried, slamming her head on the table.
"How could you not laugh, Sabrina?" said Alya. "The whole superhero sitch has totally gone to her head."
To prove this, she swiped her phone and brought up a news broadcast on the big screen in the classroom. It was the news report of Ladybug capsizing Queen Bee when she nearly caught an accident on the subway.
"You're the one who paralysed the Métro driver, aren't you?" said Ladybug. "You used your power to create this situation!"
"She wasn't the hero; it was Cat Noir and Ladybug!" said Alya.
"She had superpowers for like five minutes and went totally outta control!" said Alix.
"Ladybug didn't even give her the Miraculous; she just found it," said Jack.
"We might not 'deserve'," said Marinette, performing air quotes, "to see your documentary, but you don't deserve to be called a superhero!"
"What?!" Chloé yelled, slamming her fist on the table. "You will pay for your insulting remarks, Dupain-Cheng!"
"Calm down now, students!" said Miss Bustier calmly.
Chloé rose to her feet. "This is ridiculous."
"Chloé, class isn't over," Miss Bustier reminded her.
Chloé ignored her and began to leave the classroom. "You're all ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous."
Marinette groaned. "Ugh— seriously? She'll never change."
At City Hall, Mayor Bourgeois was in the middle of marrying a couple in his office.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife," said Mayor Bourgeois.
Audrey then burst into the room with Chloé. "Oh, good," she said. "You're married. Now get out!"
"Shoo!" said Chloé as she showed everyone out the door. She then slammed the door behind them and wiped her hands clean.
"What in the world is going on, my sweetie pie?" Mayor Bourgeois asked.
Audrey then slammed her hand on the table. "I demand that you close the school down for good!"
Chloé slammed her hand on the table next to her mother's. "And I want you to banish Marinette Dupain-Cheng from Paris!"
"That monster hurt your little girl's feelings," said Audrey, cradling Chloé's head.
"She got the whole class to gang up on me," said Chloé. "They all have to pay."
"But I just can't!" said Mayor Bourgeois. "I mean… I could close the school for a few days… a week at most."
Audrey slammed a hand on the table again. "Not good enough!"
Chloé slammed her hand next to her mother's, causing her father to stumble backwards. "Shut it down forever!"
"Ugh— But that's impossible!" Mayor Bourgeois protested. "I love you, Chloé, but you're asking too much of me this time. I'm only the mayor."
"Precisely," said Chloé, gesturing to his sash. "What's the use of this stupid sash you're wearing if you can't actually use power? This is ridiculous!"
"Utterly ridiculous!" Chloé and Audrey yelled in unison.
"You've always been too good for your classmates," Mayor Bourgeois agreed. "Maybe you should switch schools?"
Chloé then threw a tantrum.
"Change schools?" said Audrey in disbelief. "Ugh—forget it! We need to change cities, that's what." She and Chloé walked out of the office. "We'll go to New York!"
"But wait!" Mayor Bourgeois pleaded, chasing after them.
Mayor Bourgeois quickly entered the Bourgeois suite at the Le Grand Paris. When he got there, he found that the packing was going into full swing.
"Don't forget my Tourbillon stilettos, Jean-Marc," said Chloé.
"Of course, Miss," said Jean.
"I can't be the mayor of Paris if we're living in New York," Mayor Bourgeois said as he approached his wife and daughter. "It's… too far! Why don't we go and live closer in Versailles instead?"
"Well, it won't make the slightest bit of difference since you're so powerless, anyway!" said Chloé.
"Not only are you incapable of solving a simple problem for your daughter, but you're also refusing to come with us?" said Audrey.
"No! Not at all," he said, panicking. "I… I… Ah. Look at this, my sweetie." He then pulled out a Julie box and showed it to Chloé. "It's for you.
Chloé wasn't entirely impressed with what was inside. "What is it? It's tiny!"
"Yes, but very expensive!" said Mayor Bourgeois. "It's a diamond-encrusted phone case. Are you sure you don't want to stay after all?"
Chloé then slapped the box out of her father's hands. "I don't want that thing! What kind of daddy are you if you can't even give me what I want?"
Then she and her mother left the room, leaving Mayor Bourgeois to whimper on the floor.
"But… what more can I do?" he said.
Hawk Moth could sense the powerful emotion of helplessness and opened the windows to his lair.
"A man of power feeling helpless as a father," he said. "I sense very strong negative emotions from him." He then began to turn a butterfly into an akuma. "Fly away, my little akuma, and evilize him!"
He then released it and watched as it fluttered into the city of Paris.
On the Le Grand Paris roof, both Chloé and Audrey had just taken off in a helicopter with Jean, and the doorkeeper waved them goodbye.
"Nooo!" Mayor Bourgeois cried and fell to his knees.
The akuma entered his sash at that moment, and a butterfly-shaped halo appeared on his face.
"Malediktator, I am Hawk Moth," said Hawk Moth telepathically. "Your wife and daughter think you're weak and useless? Well, I shall give you absolute power. Anything you declare will happen!"
"By the power vested in me, I shall prevail as Malediktator!" Mayor Bourgeois vowed.
Dark ether then began to cover his body as he began to transform. When it vanished, he stood there, his skin light blue and wearing a costume similar to Napoleon Bonaparte's.
Back at Collège Françoise Dupont, Marinette was currently in the canteen with Alya and Juleka, laughing about something. They heard a helicopter, stopped laughing, and went to the courtyard.
When they got outside, they saw the helicopter and Chloé looking down at them with a megaphone in her hand.
"Hey there, losers!" she yelled at them. "I'm headed to New York with my mom." She then dropped flyers on everyone. "I'm leaving you all behind in your pathetic little school and your pathetic little city. Adieu!"
She laughed as the helicopter left.
Marinette picked up one of the flyers showing Chloé in front of the Statue of Liberty.
"Chloé's leaving?" said Nino.
"Forever?" said Nathanial.
"Looks like it," said Marinette.
"Yeah," Alya nodded.
Everyone looked at one another in silence for a few moments and then burst into cheers. Confetti appeared out of thin air, and there were fireworks for no reason. Everyone, including Principle Damocles, danced around hugging one another.
Marinette looked down at Tikki. "Without Chloé around, Paris will be filled with a lot less negative emotion!"
"And less akumatizations," Tikki added.
Adrien then walked up. "Hey, what's going on here? What are we celebrating?"
"Chloé's gone! She's moving to New York!" Marinette cried joyfully.
Adrien looked stunned. "Chloé left…? For good?"
Marinette was still excited, unaware Adrien was not showing everyone else's enthusiasm. "Yeah! Isn't it great?"
"Uh… no," Adrien frowned. "I think it's terrible! How can you celebrate a thing like that?"
Marinette looked at him, confused. "But, Chloé's a total brat to everyone. She was useless anyway."
"Nobody's useless, not even Chloé," said Adrien. "When I was little and wasn't allowed out, she was the only friend I had."
"Ow—well, uh… shoot," said Marinette, suddenly losing her enthusiasm.
"She left angry and unhappy. I can't celebrate that," he said, walking away sadly.
Marinette contemplated whether to go after him but decided against it. "I'm really sorry, Adrien."
Jack then walked up to her. "Give him some time; I am sure that he'll realise that we're all better off without Chloé someday."
On a rooftop in Paris, Malediktator was standing there watching the departing helicopter.
"By the power vested in me, I order you to land!" Malediktator commanded.
He then fired a yellow orb of light from the tip of his two fingers and centred straight towards the helicopter. The orb entered the helicopter pilot's chest, and he immediately complied with Malediktator's command.
The helicopter soon landed on the ground, and Audrey exited it rather confusedly.
"This is not the airport," she asked. "What is the meaning of this?"
"Chloé, my daughter, you are not leaving for New York," said Malediktator as he approached them.
Chloé popped her head out of the helicopter and gasped. "Daddy?"
"You see, I have the power to shut down the school and banish all those nasty students who were mean to you," he said, extending his hand. "Come with me!"
"Really?" Chloé beamed but retreated back when she remembered that he had been akumatized. "But that's… excellent?"
"André, getting yourself akumatized like everybody else in this town does not make you a cool or hip father," said Audrey. "In fact—"
Malediktator then raised his finger and conjured up another yellow orb. "By the power vested in me, I declare that you will be devoted to this family and remain in Paris with me and Chloé."
He then fired the orb, and it struck Audrey.
The moment the old struck Audrey, she sprinted towards Malediktator and wrapped her arms around him. "Oh yes, my dear hubby. I'm so happy to stay here."
She then began kissing him all over his face.
"Ew!" Chloé moaned, looking away from the sight. "Just when I thought things were working out. Ugh! How would Ladybug get out of this ridiculous situation?"
She then snuck out of the helicopter and hid at the Métro entrance.
"Well done, Chloé, now you just have to—" She stopped when she sniffed the air. "Ew! What a stench! Come on; you're a hero!" She held her nose and slowly descended the stairs, talking in a muffled voice like she did. "You… can… do… this."
Malediktator made his way to the helicopter in search of Chloé.
"Chloé, sweetie, why don't you come—Huh?" he said, finding the helicopter empty and then growling. "Where did she go?!"
Audrey wrapped her arms around Malediktator's neck. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find her."
"Malediktator, if you want to find your daughter, you must first cause chaos in Paris," Hawk Moth instructed. "Start with the school. She'll come back of her own accord."
"Good idea!" said Malediktator. "Let's go show those little savages what they get for showing my daughter such disrespect.
Back at Collège Françoise Dupont, in the courtyard, everyone was still celebrating Chloé's departure. Nino was at his mixing table, with two large speakers on the floor above. Everyone was dancing except Adrien, who was sitting in the corner, and Marinette, who was sitting on the stairs.
Alya then walked up to her. "Come on, girl. Just 'cause Adrien's bummed out doesn't mean you have to be, too."
"Yeah, but I think I was a bit harsh on her earlier," said Marinette. "What if Adrien's right and Chloé isn't just a brat?"
"What else could she possibly be?" Alya asked. "Superbrat, maybe."
Jack then approached Adrien. "Not in a party mood, I take it."
"How can I when everyone is celebrating Chloé leaving," he said.
"I know she was your friend, but you have to look at it from everyone else's perspective," said Jack as he sat down next to him. "Chloé was disrespectful to everyone and caused no amount of trouble, especially to Marinette, who she constantly bullied."
"I know, but that doesn't give people the right to celebrate, especially since she left angry and unhappy."
"Adrien, I generally believe in second chances, but at the same time, I know that some people won't change. Unlike you, I don't know Chloé very well, and unlike Marinette, I was never really bullied by her. Even I can tell she is self-centred and vain. I'm nearly speaking as an impartial individual."
Then they suddenly heard a helicopter approach and saw Malediktator.
"By the powers vested in me," he said, creating a giant orb, "I declare this school a demolition site!"
Malediktator then sent the orb right down on the previously dancing group.
" Come on, students, let's wreck this place!" said Principal Damocles.
The students immediately began throwing things around, knocking doors off their hinges, throwing furniture down from the second floor, etc. Marinette, Adrien, and Jack looked around with determined looks and immediately ran off.
Marinette quickly made her way into the locker room.
"Right!" said Malediktator, walking out of the helicopter that had just landed in the courtyard. "Now, where is that girl, Marinette Dupain-Cheng? I've got a special declaration just for her."
Marinette closed the door, and Tikki flew out of her purse.
"Looks like Chloé managed one last victim before she left Paris," she said.
"Yeah, and I might be partly to blame," said Marinette. "Tikki, spots on!"
Marinette then began to transform into Ladybug, though looking a little unhappy.
"Where is that Marinette?" Malediktator called.
"Hey, you!" said Cat Noir, who was standing on top of the helicopter. "Do you have a demolition permit for this school?"
"I don't need a permit," said Malediktator. "I am Malediktator, the all-powerful supermayor of Paris, and this is my city."
Ladybug then landed on the helicopter. "Paris is our city! It belongs to everyone."
Sprite then landed on the helicopter as well. "And there's no way we can let a dictator run roughshod over everything."
They then drew their weapons and launched themselves at Malediktator. He tried to punch Ladybug, but she quickly dodged, and Cat Noir struck him on the head with his staff. He tried to counter, but Sprite blocked his attack with his cane and Ladybug, then wrapped her yo-yo around his wrist.
Cat Noir and Sprite then moved in, swinging their weapons at him while simultaneously avoiding his advance. He then grabbed Cat Noir's staff and slammed into Sprite, knocking them back towards the helicopter. They skilfully landed perfectly on their feet.
Malediktator then grabbed a nearby bench and tried to use it to smash Ladybug, but she quickly jumped back and joined up with the others. However, this meant she had released her hold on Malediktator's wrist, allowing him to use his hands.
"By the power vested in me, I declare that your Miraculous are my property!" he said, creating three orbs that started to chase after the trio. They had to be quick and nimble to avoid getting hit, and eventually, they had to retreat to the roof.
"It's time we impeach him and declare him powerless!" said Cat Noir.
"But we have to do so carefully. One hit from those orbs, and it's game over," said Sprite.
"The akuma has to be in his sash," said Ladybug, looking down at his sash. She then tossed her yo-yo up into the air. "Lucky Charm!" Suddenly materialising was a red and black spotted abacus. "An abacus?"
"This is hardly the time to solve a mathematical problem," said Sprite.
"While you figure that out, I'll take care of Malediktator," said Cat Noir, leaping away.
Ladybug looked at the abacus, and it suddenly dawned on her. "Uh, of course! Cat Noir, wait!"
It is too late; Cat Noir will already descend into the attack. "Cata—"
"By the power vested in me—" said Malediktator, then quickly performed a 180 and struck Cat Noir in the chest with an orb. "I declare that you are a cat."
A second later, Cat Noir's attitude changed, and he started acting like his namesake.
"Meow!" he said as he began chasing a toilet roll.
"Oh no!" Ladybug groaned.
"This is bad," said Sprite, overstating the obvious.
"Oh, what a cutie pie!" said Audrey, beckoning a finger to him. "Kitty kitty."
"Cat Noir's Miraculous!" Hawk Moth ordered.
Malediktator approached Cat Noir, who was currently stroking his cheeks by Audrey. However, as he approached, Cat Noir hissed at him and hid behind Audrey.
"Cat Noir!" Ladybug panicked.
"We have to get in there," said Sprite as he drew his cane.
They were just about to launch themselves into the fray, but when Malediktator reached out for Cat Noir's Miraculous, he slashed his claws at him, forcing him to back off.
"Kitty still has claws!" Ladybug smiled.
"Thank goodness for animal instincts," said Sprite. "But we're a man down and voted against the bill, and who can command us to do anything."
Ladybug nodded. "We're gonna need some help."
"Go, I'll keep a close eye on Cat Noir and if Malediktator tries to take his Miraculous, jump in," said Sprite.
Ladybug smiled. "Thank you, Sprite." She then rose to her feet and looked down at Cat Noir. "Hold on, Cat Noir, I'll be right back!"
Malediktator looked up just in time to see her swing off with her yo-yo, much to his annoyance.
"Let her go," said Hawk Moth. "She'll be back and try to save her kitty. Except she'll be too late! Grab Cat Noir's Miraculous!"
Malediktator walked up to Cat Noir, who Audrey was now cuddling.
"Please, Malediktatorkins, can't we keep him just a little longer?" Audrey pleaded.
Malediktato sighed. "If it makes you happy."
"Don't let me down, Malediktator, or I'll take away your powers!" Hawk Moth warned.
"He's completely harmless now," said Malediktator, pointing at him as he lay on his back, clawing at Audrey's necklace. "Taking his Miraculous would be like taking candy from a baby."
Master Fu was in his massage shop counting using an abacus.
"Six hundred fifty," he said.
Marinette then suddenly barged in frantically. "Master Fu! A villain has transformed Cat Noir… into a cat!"
"What?!" Master Fu stared. "But… perhaps you shouldn't have left him by himself. He's at Hawk Moth's mercy!"
"Sprite is keeping an eye on him, and the Lucky Charm led me here!" she said.
"Hmm. And the Lucky Charm never fails," Master Fu nodded and, grabbed the Miracle Box from the gramophone and placed it before Marinette. All the slots began to open, revealing the Miraculouses. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, pick an ally you can trust to fight alongside you on this mission. Choose wisely; such powers are meant to serve the greater good. Once the mission is over, you'll retrieve the Miraculous from them."
"I must choose someone who's not impressed by people in power," she said. "Who can help me trap Malediktator? Huh?!" Her eyes then fell upon the Bee Miraculous. "Of course! That's it." She then reached out for the Miraculous but stopped facepalm in herself. "Wait, what am I thinking?"
"Follow your instincts, Marinette," Tikki encouraged.
Marinette smiled at her and then grabbed the Bee Miraculous.
"Are you sure you want to give it back to… her?" Master Fu asked concerningly.
"Don't worry, Master; I know how to make good use of it this time," said Marinette.
At Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie, both Tom and Sabine were working in the shop when they heard the bell ring.
"Hello!" said Sabine, cheerful as she slowly turned around. However, her expression quickly turned to fear as Malediktator with Audrey and Cat Noir stood at the door.
"Where is your daughter?" Malediktato asked.
"Uh—would you like to… place an order?" Sabine asked.
"By the power vested in me, I declare that Marinette Dupain-Cheng's parents will leave Paris… FOREVER!" said Malediktator, blasting them with light orbs.
Marinette was running through Paris's streets as quickly as she could.
"I gotta find Chloé before Malediktator," said Marinette frantically as she looked through her phone.
"Marinette, look!" Tikki pointed.
Marinette looked up and saw her parents walking down the street with suitcases in their hands.
"Uh… uh… what are they doing?" Marinette frowned, coming to a stop. "Hide, Tikki." Tikki hid in her purse, and Marinette rushed over to her parents. "Mom! Dad!"
"Ah, Marinette," said her father. "A man named Malediktator was looking for you. Thanks to him, we're leaving Paris forever."
Sabine nodded. "Come with us, honey. Last one, there is a big slow snail!"
"Your poor parents," said Tikki. "We really have to stop Malediktator, Marinette."
"I know, but I've got to find Chloé first," said Marinette as she began looking through her phone. "I can't do this alone. She talked about her secret lair in her documentary." She then tapped on the interview video and examined it carefully. "Hmm. Wait a minute. Huh!" She then zoomed in on the parasol in the background and recognised it. "I know where her lair is!"
Malediktator had made it to Chloé's room and began looking for her.
"Chloé. Where are you, sweetie?" he called out. "I've done almost everything you wanted me to do."
Chloé was in the room trying to switch hiding places when she tripped. Fortunately, she managed to get behind the sofa before her father turned around.
"So you can stay here with Mommy and Daddy," Malediktator continued. Come on, Chloé; you don't want to upset me…" He then peered over the chair where he had heard the noise before. "…do you?!" However, he found nothing as Chloé had managed to run outside. "My patience has its limits, Chloé. Don't make me show all of Paris just how powerful I can be!"
Jean then arrived. "We can't find her, Malediktator."
"Well, keep looking," Malediktator ordered. "She's got to be hiding here somewhere. Call me as soon as you find her."
Chloé was hiding behind a wall and peeked around the corner to observe them.
"Of course," Jean nodded.
Malediktator quickly turned around, and Chloé pulled her head back just in time. Then he and Jean left the room, and she quickly ran off.
Chloé reached the hotel's roof and emerged from the stairs when she suddenly saw Ladybug in front of her. She quickly skidded to a halt, falling over in the process.
"Are you okay?" Ladybug asked, kneeling down towards her.
Ladybug, finally!" Chloé beamed, grabbing her hands. "You're going to help me, right?"
"I'm fine with helping you, Chloé, but first… I need you to tell me what happened. Why is your father—I mean, Malediktator, so mad?"
"It's because of this super lame loser named Marinette Dupain-Cheng. She's this horrible girl in my class, and she hates me." Ladybug looked angry but took a deep breath to contain her feelings. "She's ganged everyone up against me, and she—"
"Maybe this Marinette girl isn't entirely to blame?" said Ladybug
"Uh! Ugh. Okay, it wasn't totally Marinette's fault," Chloé admitted. "She is really mean to me sometimes, but actually, this time, Daddy got angry all by himself."
"All by himself?" Ladybug asked sceptically.
"Yeah, because… there was something he couldn't do…"
Ladybug then placed a hand on her shoulder. "Chloé, it's me, Ladybug. You can trust me. You can tell me the truth."
"I-I—" Ladybug nodded encouragingly, and tears began forming in her eyes. "It—it was me. I hurt my daddy's feelings. Because I want to leave Paris forever."
"Because of what happened in school?" Ladybug assumed. "I'm sure Marinette probably didn't exactly mean what she said."
"Oh, it's not just her," Chloé cried. " Actually, I don't even care about her—it's because I have no reason to be here: nobody likes me; I have no friends. I'm… useless."
Ladybug then remembered what Adrien had said earlier at school. "A friend once told me: nobody is useless, Chloé."
"It's easy for you to say that," Chloé sniffed. "You're Ladybug, a superhero. You serve a purpose."
"Yes, I can fix up all the messes," Ladybug agreed. "You said it yourself in your documentary."
Chloé gasped. "You saw it?!"
Ladybug nodded.
"Oh! I'm so embarrassed," said Chloé mortified. "That film's ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. I realise that now."
"Don't worry, Chloé. You can fix your own messes if that's what you want," Ladybug encouraged. "You, too, can serve a purpose, but you have to want to."
Chloé sniffed. "I do want to."
"Chloé Bourgeois," said Ladybug, holding out the Miraculous box, "here is the Bee Miraculous, which grants you the power to immobilise your opponent. You will use it for the greater good."
Chloé hesitated, but Ladybug nodded at her approvingly, and she took the box. When she opened it, a yellow ball of light flew around her, and Pollen appeared.
"At your service, my Queen," said Pollen.
"Once the job is complete, you will return the Miraculous to me," Ladybug instructed. "Can I trust you, Chloé?"
Chloé put the hair comb in her hair. "I won't disappoint you this time, Ladybug. Pollen, buzz on!"
Chloé then began to transform into Queen Bee once again.
Moments later, both Ladybug and Queen Bee were running over the roofs.
"I've always dreamed of doing this… with you!" said Queen Bee, ecstatically.
"We must work together as a team, all right, Queen Bee?" said Ladybug.
"Yes, yes, don't worry," she said. "I've been practising since forever."
She was so focused on Ladybug she didn't notice that she was about to run into a chimney. Fortunately for her, Ladybug pulled her aside just before she collided with it. They then kept on running.
At City Hall, Lieutenant Roger had the place surrounded by every able-bodied policeman he could gather.
"Mr. Mayor— I mean, Malediktator— you are surrounded," he yelled through his megaphone. "Please renounce your akuma, and… we'll forget this ever happened."
When there was no response, the police stormed into Mayor Bourgeois's office. There, they found Malediktator sitting at his desk, Audrey pouring him a cup of tea, and Cat Noir looking at himself.
"Oh! Would you like some tea?" Audrey asked.
"It's okay, honey," said Malediktator as he put down his cup of tea. "They've got more important things to do. By the power vested in me, I declare that you are my shield."
He then blasted every single police officer with his yellow orbs.
It was soon dark, and Malediktator sat atop City Hall on a throne surrounded by shielded policemen.
"None shall pass, Malediktator," said Roger and the policeman.
Sprite had been observing everything from a nearby rooftop when Ladybug and Queen Bee arrived.
"Hey, Sprite, are there any new developments?" Ladybug asked.
"He has made a move on Cat Noir, but now he's brainwashed every single policeman in Paris," he said, and then he noticed Queen Bee. "You sure it's a good idea to bring her?"
"We need her help on this one," said Ladybug.
"If you say so," he said, not looking entirely convinced.
"Here's the plan—" said Ladybug.
"Here I am, Daddy!" Queen Bee yelled. "I'm sorry I hurt your feelings the way I did. Stop all this nonsense at once!"
"My honey pie, you look so pretty in that suit!" said Audrey.
Queen Bee looked at her mother, disturbed. "Ugh! And please put Mom back to normal. I can't bear to see her like this. Your powers are ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous."
Malediktator growled and slammed his fist down in frustration. "That's enough! Now you're going to do what I tell you to do. By the power vested in me, give me your Miraculous!"
He shot three orbs directly at the heroes, who quickly jumped into the air. Ladybug and Queen Bee launched their weapons directly at Malediktator, but the policemen quickly jumped in and blocked the attacks with their shields.
The moment they hit the rooftops, they quickly had to dodge the orbs again. Ladybug tried to move in with the kick this time, but just like before, the policeman blocked the attack with their shields, and she had to dodge the orbs again. Sprite moved in with his cane, but the same thing happened to him.
Queen Bee began to engage the policemen and overpower them, but she had to retreat to avoid the pursuing orb. Ladybug swung around using her yo-yo to escape all the chasing her and then attempted to attack from above, but once again, the policeman shielded Malediktator.
"We can't get near him," said Sprite as he continued to dodge his orb. "We need a way to separate him from his men!"
"I guess the only thing we can do is just keep on dodging," said Ladybug as she dodged her orb.
"You won't pull it off like that!" said Hawk Moth. "People only respect absolute power!"
"You're right, Hawk Moth," said Malediktator and began to create a gigantic orb. "By the power vested in me, I declare you all MY SLAVES!"
"That bubble is going to be a tough one to dodge!" said Queen Bee.
"He's gonna take over the whole city!" said Ladybug.
"We need to take it down now!" said Sprite.
The three of them tried to attack, but the policeman did their job of shielding Malediktator well.
"I think we're going to need a new tactic," said Sprite.
"You're right," Ladybug agreed and looked at Queen Bee. "You need to get past his guards. Lucky Charm!"
She then tossed her yo-yo into the air and materialising was a huge red and black spotted missile launcher.
"Well, that's an effective Lucky Charm!" said Queen Bee.
"Not quite your style, though," said Sprite.
Ladybug began to look around, and her eyes fell upon Malediktator, Cat Noir, the gun's laser sight and Queen Bee. She instantly got an idea and removed the laser sight from the gun, chucking the rest of it away.
"Sprite's right, there's no way I'd use one of those," she said.
"Are you sure?" Queen Bee asked.
"Yeah!" Ladybug nodded, smiling at her. "You just need to take the sting out."
"Venom!" Queen Bee yelled.
"Focus on Malediktator; I'll deal with the guards," Ladybug instructed.
Malediktator laughed evilly, but then Ladybug shone the laser pointer in front of Cat Noir. He instantly began making cat noises and chasing the laser pointer around like a cat. Ladybug guided the laser pointer towards the policeman, and while he chased after it, Cat Noir began knocking them off the building.
Malediktator noticed this, but there was nothing while he was creating his orb. "No, no! Oh!" Within moments, Cat Noir knocked over every police officer only, leaving him, Malediktator and Audrey on the elevated platform. "But! But!"
"Sorry, Daddy!" said Queen Bee, jumping at him. She then struck her stinger straight at his chest, paralysing him instantly and the orb he had created vanished. Queen Bee then removed his sash. "Your turn, Ladybug."
She then threw the sash over to Ladybug, who caught it and tore it in half like it was nothing, causing the akuma to flutter out.
Ladybug then opened her yo-yo. "No more evil-doing for you, little akuma." She then began to swing her yo-yo around. "Time to de-evilize!" She then swung her yo-yo, catching the akuma and pulled it back. "Gotcha!" She then released the now-purified butterfly. "Bye-bye, little butterfly."
She then tossed the laser pointer into the air. "Miraculous Ladybug!"
He then shattered, releasing the magical ladybugs that began to cure everyone at Collège Françoise Dupont. They teleported Marinette's parents back to the bakery, turning Cat Noir back to normal. They teleported the policemen, Malediktator, and Audrey back down, after which Malediktator transformed back into Mayor Bourgeois.
"Wha—? What are we doing here?!" Audrey demanded, now back to her old self. "What have you done this time, André?"
Ladybug, Queen Bee and Sprite then landed on the ground, and they were quickly joined by Cat Noir, who was also back to his old self.
"Ah, bummer; don't tell me I missed out on the party," he said.
"Yep," Ladybug nodded and turned to Queen Bee. " You missed Queen Bee, Lord Sprite, and Ladybug saving Paris, for real this time."
"I understand, Ladybug," Queen Bee smiled. "Buzz off."
She then transformed back to Chloé.
Chloé then gave Ladybug the miraculous. "Being a superhero isn't only about fixing messes."
Ladybug then held up her fist, making Chloé gasp, and she smiled.
"Pound it!" they said, fist bumping.
"Utterly ridiculous," Audrey yelled.
Chloé quickly rushed up to them and grabbed their arms. "Daddy, Mommy! Come on, let's go home."
The Bourgeoises then left.
"Sorry, guys," Cat Noir apologised. "Feel like I was pretty useless this time around."
"Actually, you were totally key in defeating Malediktator," said Ladybug.
"Really?" Cat Noir blinked. "Tell me all about it!"
Ladybug then heard her Miraculous beeping. "Next time. Bug out!"
She then swung off.
"So what did happen?" Cat Noir asked, looking at Sprite.
Sprite chuckled as he placed his arm over his shoulders and guided him away. "Oh, let's just say that we won thanks to your animal instincts."
"Huh?" Cat Noir frowned.
Marinette returned to Master Fu's shop and gave him the Bee Miraculous.
"You took a big risk entrusting this Miraculous to Chloé Bourgeois," said Master Fu. "Do you really think she's got what it takes to be a superhero?"
"Yes, I do," said Marinette confidently. "Ladybug has made me a better Marinette. So, perhaps being Queen Bee will make her a better Chloé, too!"
"That's very noble of you, Marinette," Master Fu smiled.
Sprite had made it all the way back to his secret lair, where he met up with Lady P.
"You know it sickens me that I had a team up with Chloé Bourgeois," said Sprite.
Lady P nodded. "I know, but there's nothing we can do. We have to let history take its course."
"There aren't many records of Queen Bee if I recall," said Sprite. "Which probably means she didn't live up to Ladybug's expectations."
"We can't say for certain; all we can do is watch."
At Le Grand Paris, Jean was tidying up Chloé's secret hideout on the roof and had just picked up a chair.
"It's okay, Jean-Yves; I'll take care of it," said Chloé stopping him.
"Mademoiselle, are you sure?" said Jean, surprised.
"Yes, I need to do it myself," she said.
She took the chair and began to carry it away.
"Chloé?" said a voice.
Chloé stopped and was surprised to see Marinette standing there. "Dupain-Cheng?"
At Collège Françoise Dupont, everyone was in the courtyard having another party, and Marinette managed to convince Chloé to come with her.
"All right, I came to your stupid party… now what?" Chloé asked.
"Look there," said Marinette, turning her head, "we're having a party in honour of the girl who saved Paris: Queen Bee!"
Chloé gasped when she saw her picture hanging above them and was stunned. "But— Queen Bee is… me. You're— you're having a party… for me?"
Sabrina then ran up to her and hugged her. "Chloé! I thought I'd lost you!"
"Okay, no need to make a big thing of it," she said. "Ugh! Besides, you're wrinkling my clothes."
"Sorry…" said Sabrina, releasing her.
Chloé smiled, but Sabrina kept on hugging her. "All right, all right, let me go." She then pushed herself off and smiled at her. "I wanna show you the diamond phone case Daddy gave me." She then pulled out the glowing phone case, putting on her sunglasses so that she wouldn't be blinded while everyone else shielded their eyes from the bright light. "Your daddy wouldn't be able to buy you one of these, would he?"
Adrien approached Marinette. "It was really cool of you to put this party together for Chloé."
"Well, she did save Paris, so… she just may be able to save herself, too," said Marinette. "Am I right?"
"Rena Rouge and Carapace helped Ladybug save Paris, but nobody threw them a party," said Alya, rolling her eyes.
"That's because we don't know their true identities, unlike Chloé," Marinette pointed out. "If she feels like she can be useful, I'm sure she'll change her attitude."
"Mm-hmm?" said Alya, not sounding convinced.
"Well… baby steps… baby steps," said Marinette.
"Let's just hope it doesn't go all the way to her head," said Jack.
