Hello everyone! Vash here wishing you all a happy new years and I hope you all had a great holiday season. I now bring you the continuation of this silly little story I am making with hopes of one day reaching the canon timeline, a fools errand I know but I shall march on.

But until than, enjoy some happy Deku moments.

After I answer the comments.

Ultima-owner: very true but ereaserhead dealing with a more invested nezu could lead to some fun moments, than again vlads short fuse could be some easy comedy.

Ryuujin96: Ya (shifts eyes) a villain totally attacked. Also thanks for liking the chapter and omake. I'm still waying the options of 1a or 1b.

Peter p0n: no worries, I wasn't expecting everyone to get all the references. I left them vague for a reason, just wanted to get a few 'ha I knew it!' Moments. I woulda been amazed if anyone got the more obscure ones like pucca, arale and me bean.

Steampunkdragon987: I have indeed watched doctor who, mostly the tenth doctor, and I know of the toy maker but not enough to really put him in the spotlight as I don't want to misrepresent him.

Chapter 6 Uh Ooops?

Nezu was a crafty bastard, he actually held that title proudly, His quirk allowed him to think through a problem from several angles faster than an entire team of people could even attempt. As a being of great intelligence, he often had to amuse himself by having little games or puzzles with the people around him, Which might go a long way to explain why he was desperately trying not to laugh as a suitably repentant young Izuku Midoriya was attempting to deeply apologize to a highly embarrassed Cementoss.

Whibbly wobbly Flashback transition to Izuku trying to change a ball

The group looked on as the ball stayed a ball, grass continued to grow, and someone somewhere was having a wonderful time watching paint dry. Nezu politely coughed into his paw to get the boy out of his quiet moment. "Well that doesn't seem to be it, maybe try and put the ball down and create a rock instead. this time try and pull forth the same feelings you had when you brought out the whoopie cushion." He coached.

The boy nodded and dropped the rock, he brought his hand out in a cupping position and clenched his eyes shut, trying to bring forth the energy he felt when he leaped in front of the car he just couldn't seem to grasp it. "Come on, please please work please!" He grunted to himself.

As everyone looked on, Nezu's brow furrowed, he than patted his pocket and pulled out his cellphone. "Ahh excuse me for a moment I need to take this." He said with an apology as he walked out of earshot.

Quickly dialing a number Nezu brought his phone to his ear. "Hello Ken? Yes i need a fast favor from you." He said with a Devious grin. "I have a young lad that needs some motivation to bring out his quirk's true potential, could you do the peril protocol that we use for the 2nd years final exam?" He asked as he listened to the reply. "Excellent. We are at the western training ground please come as soon as you are all dressed up." He said hanging up. He then walked back to the group watching Izuku grow more and more desperate to bring forth his quirk.

Tsuyu saw the boys frustration and spoke up. "Try and summon another Whoopie cushion maybe you can summon rubber things but not rocks." She suggested.

Nezu who had just returned from his phone call came over and spoke up. "A great idea, but before that why don't you spend a few moments to gather yourself and try to concentrate before you do your next attempt." He said

As the boy nodded And closed his eyes. Nezu motioned to the others to gather around. "Quickly huddle up." He said quietly as everyone gathered up slightly curious. "I have just called over Cementoss to help young Izuku bring out his quirk. In a few moments when he gets here he is going to pretend to be a villain that is going to threaten all of our lives. He will trap us in a dome and tell Izuku that its going to slowly crush us." He explained to the horrified group. "But do not worry, this is similar to the final exam that we give to our second year hero classes. Its a way to help them be prepared for sudden villain attacks." He said as the group looked at each other worried.

Inko turned to the principal. "Will...will it all be safe?" she asked.

Nezu nodded. "Yes you wont have to worry about Izuku at all. If the boy does not show progress with his quirk than ken will just let us out, but when we are trapped in the dome than we should scream a bit to sell what is happening to Izuku." He tried to sell the skeptical group. Seeing their apprehension he explained further. "If I understand young Izuku's character, than i do believe that any latent ability he has will show in the most dire of times, and we can use this as a way of understanding the trigger on the boys quirk, every quirk has something to make it tick and we just need the boy to use it to figure out what his is." He said as the group nodded slightly.

Inko was still apprehensive but understood the reasoning. "Ok I'm a little unhappy about it but i see the point to it." She admitted reluctantly.

The furred man smiled gently. "Do not worry, i have high hopes of this working...ah i see Cementoss coming now." He said motioning with his head to the side.

The rest looked over and saw that Cementoss was indeed stomping towards them in a threatening manner, his normal outfit was changed to a leather ensemble and his stone skin was changed from grey to black, he also held a grim looking smile on his face as he placed his hands on the ground and a dome of cement surrounded the group. "Is this going to be ok?" asked a nervous Tsuyu. "I mean are we going to have enough air?" She said looking around the interior, she noticed that instead of the pitch-black she expected, the inside of the dome instead had small rays of light the size of pencil lead beaming in from the outside of the dome.

Recovery girl patted the girls head. "Yes dear, he does this often with our second years, its hard to tell but there is several small air holes that are impossible to notice from the outside unless one were to know they were there, That is why we have a small bit of light as well." She said pointing her cane to the beams that everyone can see.

As everyone looked at the admittedly pretty sight, the dome suddenly began to rumble. "Ahh that is the signal. Please if you would all do your best and please sound terrified." Nezu said as he took a deep breath and gave a shout in panic, the rest of the group looked to each other and nodded before following suit, the children having the most fun with the task as they normally tried to follow their parents example and stay reserved.

After a few minutes and everyone growing weary of yelling, it was Tsuyu that noticed that the cement had stopped rumbling. Holding up a hand everyone stopped and looked to her. "The rumbling stopped, what does that mean?" She asked looking to the principal.

Said principal smiled and pulled his phone from his pocket. "That is the signal that the test should be over, now let me call him to find out." He said dialing the number. After a few moments of no answer he tried again with the same result. "Hmm strange, no answer, i wonder if his phone broke from the test? No matter." He said pulling a small disk like object from his pocket and placing it on the wall, the disk beeped slightly and began vibrating violently for a moment before the wall crumbled suddenly. Looking back at the kids he smiled and picked up the disk. "Small lesson children, no matter how confident you are in your plan, always have a backup for safety." He said putting the disk into his pocket than moving out of the dome into the sunlight.

The group followed out and Inko looked around for her son. "Where is he? or Cementoss?" She asked frantically.

Nezu pointed to a nearby area where a figure was standing over another figure that was in a small broken cement structure. "I believe they are over there." He said as the group hurried over to the two. "It seems like the young man is standing...over...eh?" He said trailing off as the group took in the sight before them.

The group blinked as they tried to make sense of the scene."snnnkkkt snort." The adults grew red as they tried their hardest not to laugh. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" The three Asui children on the other hand decided to not try at all. looking at the ruined structure they saw Izuku holding makeup bag in one hand (where it came from was anyone's guess) and held an eye liner in the other, as he heard the laughter he stood suddenly and looked over at his mother and smiled brightly. "Your...your all ok!" he said dropping the makeup and launching himself to his mother and embraced her.

The mother picked him up and hugged him tightly. "Yes Izuku we were not in any real danger from the start." She explained.

Izuku looked up to her with absolute confusion. "What? but Cementoss's evil big brother said he was here to kill everyone and get revenge." He said, not understanding what his mother was saying as he pointed to the villain on the ground.

The group looked down at the stone man and had to once again suppress their laughter. The mans costume was decorated in garishly bright polka dots in several colors, his rectangular face was covered in badly applied makeup that looked like an amateur cross between a geisha and a clown, on top of his head was a white cone hat with the kanji for dunce, his body was tied up in a hog tied position with Christmas tinsel being used as the rope to hold him, and to top off the entire ensemble his mouth was covered in a large sticker that said do not open till X-mas. The man in question was looking at the group with a mixture of shame, exasperation, and a wee bit of murderous intent. Taking a moment to compose themselves Nezu and recovery girl began to undo the tinsel that held the Disguised hero. "Well young man you certainly made an impression didnt you?" Recovery girl said with humor drenched in her voice.

Nezu let out a small snort and nodded as he fiddled with a knot. "Indeed. You Definity surpassed our expectations." He said as the last of the tinsel was removed and the man stood up quickly to take the sticker and hat off of himself. "Why don't we all head to my office an we can go over the footage of what just happened." He said as he pointed to the cameras above the training ground. "Except for you Ken. Why don't you make a quick trip to go...freshen up." he said as everyone except Izuku once more had to hold in their laughter.

The stone man grumbled slightly before shuffling towards a nearby building. "So...was that the real Cementoss i did all that to?" Izuku asked a little hesitant.

That question drew a round of laughter from the group as they began walking towards the U.A main building. "Indeed it was Izuku. Indeed it was." Nezu said as they made the trip to his office.

Whibbly wobbly Flashback transition returning to the current time.

As the Cementoss excepted the tenth apology from the boy, Nezu and the rest of the group finished watching the footage of the boy and hero's quick skirmish. The principal turned to the boy with a very wide smile. "Well my boy because of all of this i do believe i have a grounded theory of the trigger for your quirk." He said bring his hands together in front of him with his elbows on his desk.

Izuku's eyes widened as he sharply turned his head to the principal. "Really? How? I mean what is it?" He asked as he vibrated with excited curiosity.

The principal smiled. "Before i explain the theory, why don't I let you try a few tests for me right now and see if anyone else can figure it out?" He said whimsically.

The boy seemed confused but nodded. "Uh ok than what should i do, oh are we going back to the training ground?" He asked.

Nezu gave a small shake of his head. "No no, there is no need, the tests wont require any of us to go anywhere." He explained. "For the first test Izuku, i would like for you to try and recreate the Whoopie cushion, like young Tsuyu suggested." He said as the girl perked slightly at her name.

Izuku nodded and held out his hand. "Ok here goes." He said mostly to himself. He closed his eyes and the boy delved deep into his core and once more found the energy he had felt when trying to save his mother and new friend. He grabbed hold of it and brought it to the surface, directing it to his palm.

POP

His eyes snapped open as he beheld a normal sized Whoopie cushion in his hand, his vision blurred a bit as he was flooded with an overwhelming sense of pride. His mother was quick to wrap the boy into a loving embrace. "Oh Izuku I'm so happy for you!" She wailed as a geyser of tears flood from her eyes.

The girl on the boys other side patted his arm. "Kero I knew you could do it." She said with a smile.

The boy wiped his eyes. And looked at the whoopie cushion in his hands before turning to Nezu. "So what does this mean for my quirk?" He asked.

Nezu smiled and held up 1 finger. "That was merely one test to reaffirm something we know, now for a test to test something new. This time would you please bring forth a pie. Any flavor would do. That is if you know the dish?" He asked not knowing if the boy would know the foreign dessert.

The boy nodded. "Ya i mean I've never had one but the cafe down the street from my apartment building has a display with them on it." He explained before once more closing his eyes and holding out his hand while envisioning a white fluffy pie. But no mater how he pushed he couldn't feel the energy from before. With a sad frown he looked up to the principal. "I...i cant seem to do it." He sad glumly.

The furry man merely smiled. "Not to worry my boy i had a feeling you couldn't, but let's try a little visual exercise. instead of simply trying to summon a pie, i would like you to try and summon a pie with the intent of throwing that pie into Cementoss's face." He said with a mischievous grin.

The boy snickered slightly as Cementoss spluttered a bit at the thought of the boy messing with his face again. "Ok let's see." He said closing his eyes again and bringing up the image of bringing out a pie and throwing it into someone's face. This time however he felt it, the energy of his quirk, he felt it leap to his thoughts and fly to his palms.

POOF

Once more everyone was amazed as a fluffy looking pie with whipped cream on top appeared into the boys hand. "Very interesting. I guess my theory was correct." Nezu said with a beaming smile, while recovery girls eyes widened slightly before they narrowed.

Everyone else seemed confused. "Uh why did it work this time but not before? Kero." Asked Tsuyu.

Nezu continued to smile as he brought his hand together once more. "I do believe the answer to that is quite simple, comedy." He said

The group was quiet for a moment. "EHHHH?" They intoned at once. "Comedy? What does that mean for my quirk?" Izuku asked.

Recovery girl was the one that answered. "What Nezu is saying is that the boys quirk can both alter and create things under the condition that the alteration or creations are comedic to the boy." She explained.

Nezu nodded in agreement. "That's correct it seems that Izuku's quirk is only limited by how entertaining an item or alteration is. As we found out with the pies he can only alter or summon an item if he himself can find it humorous, while the whoopie cushion is universally considered something funny, so he was able to create it without having to mentally justify it. And that's not all i noticed. Tell me everyone where is the whoopie cushion or the pie that Izuku created?" He asked everyone.

Everyone, including Izuku was stunned momentarily before they looked around the floor for the items in question, when they couldn't be found, they all looked to the principal for an answer "Huh but that is...where?" Beru Asui asked in astonishment.

But Nezu just shrugged. "I myself don't know, even watching for it on the recordings, all the items and the cats that he summoned all simply just vanish, no poof, no smoke, they just simply don't exist. I do believe that the items in question go away once the comedic timing no longer needs them, after all if a joke outstays it's welcome, it stops being funny." He explained.

Inko was beyond confused trying to make sense of all of the oddness behind her sons quirk. "I...I get that quirks are a confusing part of life nowadays but...this seems a bit much even for quirks." She said trying to grasp any form of comprehension.

Nezu chuckled lightly. "Indeed it is, though it is not completely out of the realms of possibilities when it comes to quirks. After all, talking sunlight, complete removal of an items mass, or being born with a painting of the Mona Lisa for a torso are all things that exist or have existed in the world of quirks. The ability to temporarily cause comedy isn't as far out there as one would think." He lectured to the group.

Izuku seemed to deflate a small bit. "If everything is do or make is just gonna disappear, does that mean i cant be a hero? What if everything i do just poofs away and the people I'm saving get hurt cause of it?" He asked in a sad tone.

Nezu's smile if possible grew even larger. "To think of the people you're saving as your first priority is truly commendable young man." He said as the boy scratched the back of his head, a little red in the face. "But to answer your question, testing your limits and finding what you can and can not do is the whole point of my school and to a lesser extent the summer training camp. I don't expect you or anyone to know the absolute limits of what you can do until we test, stretch, and break them. So don't worry about that, for now simply keep your heroic spirit high and strive to be the best hero you can be." Nezu said bringing a proud and inspired smile to the boys face.

The boy gave a firm nod. "I wont let you down." He said excitedly.

Nezu nodded. "I'm sure you wont. Now why don't we end this day with a good meal? Even though school let out I'm sure lunch rush is still around, so how about you all go see him for a meal on the schools expense, while Recovery girl, Cementoss and I discuss the training camp going forward." He said as the group became excited to try such a famous hero's cooking.

As the group filed out the smiles that were on Nezu and Recover girls faces fell into mild frowns. Cementoss on the other hand held a large smile. "That kid is going to go far i tell ya. I cant wait to see what he can...do." He said trailing off taking notice of his colleagues grim faces. "What's wrong? Shouldn't we be happy the we got a handle on the kids quirk?" He asked his colleagues.

Nezu looked pensive for a moment before addressing the hero. "While we are thrilled for the boy, his quirk on the other hand frankly terrifies us." He said as recover girl nodded.

Cementoss tilted his head slightly. "How so? It's a pretty damn good quirk but it's nothing that can't be handled, I mean the kid makes comedy, how is that so scary?" He asked incredulously.

Recovery girl shook her head. "You're not seeing the danger it poses Ken. If the boy were anything less than the sweetheart I know he is, than I would fear for the entire world." She stated grimly

The heroes eyes widened in surprise "What!? The...the entire word you have to be exaggerating how could a excitable nice kid like that endanger the entire world?" He asked.

Nezu sighed. "And if that boy were to snap?" He said grimly. "The truth of the matter is, that the sweet boy that we have interacted with is far too close to that line than I would like." He said massaging his temples.

The stone man looked stunned. "But how? He seemed...like a normal kid, I mean a little bit of a hero nerd but that's normal for a little kid." He said trying to comprehend their thought processes.

The elder woman looked to him with sad eyes. "From the short time we were with him, the boy shows obvious signs that he is very much alone in his day to day, also more than likely he is bullied if not weekly than probably daily for his supposed quirklessness, i very much believe that his mother is the only pillar of happiness he has, and we all know what happens when a single pillar is broken." She explained.

Cementoss was beginning to see the problem but still couldn't see the scope of it. "Still...ya the kids quirk is great but it's still based on something funny how is-" He began to say.

Nezu gently interrupted him. "And if the boy snaps and suddenly finds death and destruction funny?" He said halting Cementoss who was Getting the idea. "What if he finds it funny when people lose their family or he finds humor in the idea of breaking someone's spirit, so he uses his quirk to torture someone, what if he gets the idea of how hilarious it would be to snuff out a cities worth of people and is able to justify creating an explosive capable of destroying a city? Or maybe one day he would look up at the moon and decide that it would be peak comedy to give it a face and have it sing 'it's the end of the world' as it crashes into the earth." He explained to the now horrified hero.

Cementoss was at a loss for words. "He...couldn't do that right?" He asked almost begging.

Nezu and recovery girl were silent, after a few moments the principal looked to the hero. "We are going to do everything possible to keep that boy from breaking. Not just because his quirk is dangerous, but because he deserves our best." He said with determination.

Chapter 6 end

Omake

Chaos Bar.

The gods looked at each other with an awkward air. "Uh genie? Can The kid do that?" Buggs asked the blue man.

Genie tugged at collar that appeared around his neck. "er um...maybe?" He said nervously.

Eris threw a bag of bonbons at him. "What do you mean maybe? You are the one that gave him the pill." She yelled pulling out a bazooka filled with chaos apples.

The blue man magicked up a suit of armor around himself. "Well ya but you think i put any thought into the pill? I just blended together some chaos and fed it to him. Honestly the amount I gave him was just enough to make him an agent, not enough to make him a demigod let alone a god." He rationalized.

Discord squished a small squeak toy in the shape of a red centaur in his claw to calm himself slightly. "What is done is done so lets move on. As genie said the boy has limitations to his power, he cant just destroy a world at the drop of a hat like us or some of the demis can." He said trying to get the woman calm

Buggs smiled and shrugged. "Even if he could, i have faith in the kid to not go down that path, though to be honest ima bit surprised that the furball figured it out so fast." He said

The blond goddess just rolled her eyes. "We already knew the rat was too smart for his own good, still takes alot of the fun out of it if someone can get a grasp on the madness." She said putting away he weapon and sitting down with a pout.

Relaxing a bit genie floated over to the couch. "True but at least he can get the kid on the right track to get a grip, that should speed things along to the starting point." He said with a shrug.

Eris scoffed. "Get to the starting point? And at this rate it will be what? thirty more chapters till we reach the first episode?" She said with a mocking tone.

The entire club began to shiver slightly as the air grew cold and a loud deep sound echoed around.

"SNIFF SNIFF, IM TRYING!"

The gods grew quiet as Eris scratched her cheek feeling a little bad before a loud high pitched voice interrupted. "Hey! Are you guys making Vash sad?" A small pink pony appeared in front of the gods couch. "You better be nicer to him!" She said pulling out her party cannon pointing it at them. "Got it!?" She threatened, the gods held their hands up in surrender and quickly nodded. "Good, now than here you go Vash." she said perking up into a smile, she than held a large brownie with frosting on it that read. 'feel better'. The brownie vanished from her hoof and there was a loud munching sound followed by a gulp. A ghostly hand came down and patted the pony on the head. "Your welcome, have a happy new years Vash!" She waved to the sky as the omake ended.

End notes

And there we have it folks the boys quirk has been given some context, it's the quirk version of 'only when it's funny' which might be a good name for it hmm, question for later. But that is the quirk business out of the way now just a chapter or two showing off a bit of training and a little bit of fluff and we should have a good chance of finally getting into the promise land. but until than i wish you all the best.

New question

Who do you think needs more screen time in MHA fanfics out of these three? Manami (La brava) Kinoko (Mushroom girl 1b) or Ippan josei (Green mutant girl vigilante Deku helped.) I think i would like to include one of them far into the future for a bit more exposure but nothing concrete at the moment.
