Well hello! Here's a new chapter of Azure Redi-fanfiction, for which I got a little inspiration from the Bamse-cartoon, where a director mocked a script made by a theater cleaner, but stole the idea, got the cleaner fired, and when the cleaner found out about it, he decided to take revenge after seeing the play he wrote as an advertisement for the premiere, and I even drew inspiration for this from the Honey Blood part of the Mahou Chocolate-manga, and another Detective Conan-case that I don't own the rights to. Otherwise, this is my own invention. I start planning the next chapter. See you in the next chapter.
"How did this happen?!" One such person thought, looking at the man lying on the floor of his workplace, blood dripping from his head onto the carpet on the floor of the room.
The woman breathed nervously, and shook a glass cigarette ashtray with blood in her right hand. Then the woman's eyes started to glow red.
(On the next day)
Shizuka was sitting on the sofa in Kogorō's study, reading various advertisements when Rani entered the room.
"Don't you have anything else to do but read leaflets?" Kogorō asked looking out the window of his study as it was raining outside and there were dark clouds in the sky.
"Not really", Shizuka said. "Huh? Amber Trop diet candy. Number 1 bestseller. Revolutionary slimming method. Lose weight at the speed of light. Frees the body's internal energy. New product from Kyandihausu (Karkkitalo)!"
Shizuka looked at the flyer image of a white candy wrapper with a wasp image on it.
"Probably just some new ad that some people are trying to make money with", Kogorō said after hearing the ad Shizuka had just read.
"Maybe. Good night", Shizuka went to her room to sleep.
(On the next day)
Shizuka was sitting with her friends in Teitan Koko's mothertongue class, writing in her notebook.
Finally, the mother tongue lesson ended, and Shizuka left the mothertongue class with her friends and others.
"Unbelievable!" Mitsuhiko shouted, stopping in surprise after seeing something, and Shizuka looked forward with the others, and saw some of the others also staring at the girl standing in front of them in disbelief.
"Is there even a girl like that in Teitan Koko?!"
Shizuka looked at that girl and couldn't believe her eyes. The girl in question was tall and thin. He had short, black hair, blue eyes, and tanned skin, and was wearing a Teitan uniform, holding a black school bag in his right hand.
"Aren't you just Okoshi Hinano?!" Sonoko cried out in disbelief when she saw the same girl as Shizuka.
"It's me! Look. I lost this much weight in 3 days", Hinano said.
"I remember Hinano had a cold recently, but it's unlikely that even a cold can make you lose that much weight", Shizuka thought as she led Shōnen Tantei-dan's to their club room.
"Did you see how much weight Hinano-san had lost?" Mitsuhiko asked after sitting down like the others on the chairs by the tables in the room.
"You couldn't help but see it. He was a bit round before", Genta said.
"Skinny as what?!"
"What kind of diet were you on, Okoshi?!"
"I guess that will be the topic of conversation for the next couple of days", Ayumi said.
A woman shovels dirt on top of a bloody carpet on the ground, covering the carpet in the hole she just dug in Haido Park.
The woman's car was parked on the street near Haido Park.
"Excuse me, but what's going on?" A man asked when he arrived.
The woman got scared, ran to her car, and drove her car away from the place.
"What was that anyway?" The man muttered as he walked to the spot until he saw a partially dug, bloody carpet on the ground. "Aaaah!"
"What kind of diet could Hinano be on?" Sonoko asked as she walked with her friends on the Tokyo sidewalk towards home.
"I don't know. Even Teitan's playboy, Hasumi Yusei looked at Hinano with that eye. Aki-san clearly didn't like it, as she's been looking at that playboy with that eye for a long time", Shizuka said.
Suddenly, Shizuka saw Kogorō and the police standing in Haido Park. There was even an ambulance:
"What happened over there? Could someone have been hit by a car?"
"I can't tell", Ayumi said, walking closer with the others. Along with them, there were other civilians. "Excuse me, but what has happened here?"
"Oh you? A man was recently found here wrapped in a rug. He had been beaten to death if you must know", Kogorō said.
"Yes. The eyewitness saw a person wearing a raincoat running away from here. The eyewitness did not see the perpetrator's face, or the license plate number of the car used by the perpetrator properly, because the perpetrator fled when the eyewitness arrived. The eyewitness informed us", Megure said.
"The victim is Kawashima Ryoo, 34 years old. Kawashima Ryoo is the manager of Kyandihausu, which recently opened here", Miwako said.
"Kyandihausun? I guess that's the new candy shop I read the ad for in that flyer yesterday. What could Kawashima Ryoo have done to get someone to attack him?" Shizuka thought about finally going home with the others.
(Later)
After doing her homework, Shizuka began to read the new flyers in Kogorō's study:
"The opening of Kyandihausu is apparently the day after tomorrow. Before that, its employees have advertised their workplace by sending their customers some of their products", Shizuka read the advertisement aloud. "They're giving out free candies at the opening, and it's in the building where Okino Yōko-san is one of the judges for the model auditions the day after tomorrow".
"Model auditions, then?" Kogorō asked as he picked up the flyer and read it.
"It's looking for new models", Shizuka said, causing Kogorō to look curious.
"This opportunity only comes once a decade. If you want to be a model, send a picture of yourself, your phone number, and your address", Kogorō read aloud the text of the flyer.
"Should we go see that Kyandihausu opening?" Ran asked.
"Want some free candy?" Kogorō asked. Actually, he wanted to go see the model auditions, and talk to Okino Yōko.
"Maybe we should go there?" Shizuka thought as she remembered hearing Hinano talk about modeling auditions earlier during her lunch break.
(Flashback)
Shizuka was in the library eating lunch with her friends.
"Model auditions? I think I'll be taking part in that too", Hinano said after seeing the ad that Aki was examining.
"Hinano?!" Aki shouted in disbelief.
Kawashima Aki was a tall, thin girl with long, brown hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. He was wearing a Titan uniform and was 16-years old.
"Sorry. I guess I got too excited", Hinano said.
"Well, feel free. I can get excited about it if you want", Aki said while eating a salad.
"Listen Aki. losing weight is easy then, isn't it?" Hinano asked with a smug smile.
(End of the flashback)
"What's the problem with that Hinano?" Shizuka thought. "Mōri-san, what did you find out about the situation of the man who was found today? I only asked so that I could be careful in case of meeting the possible perpetrator".
"The cause of death of this man was a blow to the head", Kogorō said.
(On the other side of Haido City)
"Who does Hinano think she is?! Is losing weight easy?! Don't laugh!" Aki kicked the wall of a house in anger. "Hinano has no idea how hard I've worked to lose weight. Jogging every night, and only salad for lunch. I want to become beautiful in every way. And then one day I'll get Teitan's worst playboy, Hasumi Yusei!"
"Why do you seem so angry?" Someone asked walking up behind Aki, causing Aki to turn around to see a woman wearing a raincoat.
"Huh! I'm trying to lose weight by running", Aki said.
"Huh?! You lose weight by running. Isn't that exhausting?" The woman asked.
"I would like to make losing weight easy", Aki said.
"Well, there is an easier way than running", The woman gave Aki a candy wrapped in white paper. "It's this Amber Trop diet candy".
"Um, candy?" Aki looked at the candy suspiciously.
"Don't make fun of it. It's really effective", The woman said.
"How can that be?" Aki thought while eating, the candy, and began to lose weight until he reached his ideal form of thinness:
"You can not be serious?!"
"It's me", The woman said.
(On the next day)
"Some of the girls from Teitan Koko are participating in that now much talked about model audition", Ayumi said upon entering Shōnen's Tantei-dan's club room.
"I heard that thing. Is that Aki?!" Shizuka asked sitting on a chair by one of the club room tables after looking out the door of Shōnen Tantei-dan's club room and saw everyone looking at Aki who had lost a lot of weight and was walking next to the worst playboy in Teitan.
"Aki is really thin, but her breasts haven't shrunk at all!"
"He has lost weight in a perfect way".
Aki looked at Hinano with a cocky smile, and Hinano looked angry.
"How is that possible?" Shizuka asked walking to the door of the club room, looking at Aki in disbelief.
(Later)
Shizuka was sitting with her friends in a fast food restaurant, eating hamburgers, and thinking about the events she had seen today.
"The fact that Hinano, and Aki have lost weight so quickly is quite suspicious, isn't it?" Shizuka asked.
"Yes. It's suspicious", Sonoko said. "How can Aki even like a blayboy like Yusei, who changes women like a shirt".
"Can you eat that much, Aki? The filming is tomorrow?" Yusei asked from a nearby table, causing the others to look at Aki to see the large amount of food on the plate in front of him.
It's okay", Aki said, eating a hamburger, and there were ketchup stains on the roof of his mouth. "Now that I've eaten that candy, I won't gain any weight no matter how much I eat! I'm so hungry all the time that I can't see!"
Shizuka looked with the others at the amount of food Aki ate in disbelief:
"Like he hasn't eaten anything in a couple of days".
"That gorging already rivals Rani's father's appetite!" Sonoko shouted in surprise.
Ran looked embarrassed after hearing Sonoko's recent words.
"Unbelievable! Aki eats so much, but seems to be losing weight!" Shizuka thought as she saw Aki lose a little more weight just now.
When Aki and Yusei left the restaurant, a candy wrapper fell from Aki's bag on the floor, as a result of which Shizuka walked in front of the candy wrapper, and reading it picked up the text on the candy:
"Amber Trop! This is the diet candy recently advertised by the new Kyandihausu. Did Aki lose weight with this candy? But how did she lose weight when she just ate it?! Could this candy be made by some yokai? We should investigate the matter further".
(On the next day)
Shizuka walked with Ran, and Kogorō in the candy house, looking at the new products that the Kyandihausu employees were going to sell in their shop.
"Mōri-san, should we ask the Kyandihausu staff about Kawashima Ryoo?" Shizuka asked.
"We will ask later", Kogorō said.
Shizuka sat down on the chair in front of the right wall of the room, then looked at the catwalk set up on the floor in the center of the room, with red curtains at the back end of which the model audition participants would emerge from when the model auditions began.
"There is nothing abnormal so far, but the staff seems nervous. The nervous behavior of the staff is probably because the leader of Kyandihausu, Kawashima Ryoo, was recently found murdered in Haido Park", Shizuka mused.
"All the candies look really good", Ran said looking at the candies on offer as the staff placed chairs on either side of the catwalk on the floor of the room for the audience to sit on said chairs to watch the models audition.
"Wait, where is Tooru-san?" A woman from Kyandihausu's staff asked.
"Tooru-san is in the back room checking to make sure the fuse box is working properly", One man said.
"But Tooru-san has already been there for a whole hour. In this time, he would have had time to check the fuse box at least 2 times already. Get Tooru-san here", The woman said, who just spoke.
The woman who had just spoken was tall and thin. He had short, black hair, blue eyes, and tanned skin. He looked 44 years old. He was wearing a yellow blouse, a red jacket, and black pants. In her ears were yellow earrings. He looked like he hadn't slept properly in days. He had a patch on his right index finger.
"Okay", One man said, and went into the back room.
"A very tense atmosphere", Kogorō said.
"It's been like that ever since the leader of Kyandihausu, Kawashima Ryoo, was found murdered", Yōko said walking up to the scene.
"Really?" Kogorō asked.
"Aaaah!" Someone shouted from the direction of the back room and everyone ran there to see a man sitting on the floor of the back room who had just entered Kyandihausu's back room.
"What happened?!" Kogorō asked.
"Tooru-san is", The man pointed in front of him in shock, and everyone saw the man lying on the back room floor with a thin string around his neck, and work gloves on the floor of the room.
Kogorō walked into the room, and began to examine the man:
"He's been strangled. The perpetrator wore gloves so as not to leave fingerprints on the string or the body. Ran, call the police", Kogorō said.
"Alright!" Ran took her phone out of her pocket.
"Another murder against Kyandihausu's staff! The perpetrator seems to have a grudge against Kyandihausu's staff", Shizuka thought.
(Later)
"The victim is 40-year-old Katsu'uma Tooru, an employee of Kyandihausu. The cause of death is strangulation. You found the body, right?" Megure asked the man who found the body.
"Yes. Tooru-san had been in the back room for a long time checking the fuse box, so Vice President Ishikawa Yoshiko sent me to get Tooru-san to the ballroom where the model auditions are about to take place", The man said.
Shizuka looked around the room, then saw the other side of a broken ashtray behind a nearby trash can with blood on the outside.
"That doesn't seem to be the murder weapon used in this crime, because there are no signs of beating on the victim's body", Shizuka bent down, and took a handkerchief from her shoulder bag, which she wrapped around the ashtray, and put the ashtray in her bag, then stood up:
"Mōri-san, what time could the crime have taken place?"
"About an hour ago", Kogorō said after checking.
"Well, did anyone see the victim come into this back room?" Megure asked.
"I saw. I used to be director Kawashima Ryo's secretary. Now I'm the vice director's secretary. Then the vice director asked me to advise the film crew on preparing the filming location", The secretary said.
"That's what I asked for", The deputy director said.
"I see. The perpetrator probably followed Kawashima-san into this back room, and strangled Kawashima-san as soon as he entered the room, as the fuse board has not been opened", Megure said looking at the fuse board which was locked. "We were coming to question you about Kawashima Ryoo's murder anyway, so we are now questioning you about it while we investigate this crime. Did someone hold a grudge against Kawashima Ryoo?"
"Not as far as I know, but filming should start soon", The deputy director said. Surprisingly, he felt dizzy, and he leaned against the wall behind him.
"Are you ok?" Shizuka asked.
"I'm fine. I've just been sleeping really bad lately", The vice president said, his eyes glowing red for a moment.
"I guess he's under yokai control", Shizuka mused. "I'm glad you're all right."
"Oh, by the way. Shortly before the assassination of Director Kawashima, I heard that Director Kawashima used to argue with Katsu'uma-san like this:
"You've embezzled our company's money, haven't you?! Confess!" The secretary said.
"What was the basis for Kawashima's suspicion?" Megure asked.
"Oh that? It was an accounting mistake I made. The manager was really mad at me for that, but Katsu'uma-san had a gambling background, and a debt from gambling", Ishikawa said. "I think the manager suspected that Katsu'uma had embezzled the company's money in order to pay off his gambling debts".
"I see. May we explore the manager's office?" Megure asked.
"Alright. Now I have to go check if the auditioned model candidates are ready to perform", Ishikawa left the room after handing the keys to the manager's room to Megure.
Shizuka followed the others into the director's office. In front of the wall to the right of the manager's room was a large bookcase, and on the table next to it was a gramophone. In the middle of the room was a brown desk with a computer and other writing equipment on it. In front of the wall on the left side of the room was a large, carpet-looking wall hanging. Behind the desk in the room was a large, black office chair. There was a window on the wall behind the desk with white blinds in front of it, and a light switch was on the wall next to the door to the room. There were chairs in front of the desk for potential client meetings.
"This is strange. The carpet that used to be on the floor of the director's room has disappeared", The secretary said when he saw the matter in question.
"It's probably the carpet that was wrapped around the leader's body", Megure said.
"The room looks clean, but there is a small dent in the floor and something is shining in it", Shizuka thought as she walked over to the dent in the floor of the room and saw a small piece of sparkling glass with blood on it which she picked up from her pocket with the handkerchief she had just taken and put it in her bag:
"This seems to be a crime scene. Maybe the crime went like this. The murderer came with the manager into this room, and they had a possible argument. Then the murderer took either the manager from the table, or the ashtray he brought with him, and beat the manager to death. Then the murderer rolled up the carpet on the floor of the room around the victim, broke the ashtray by throwing it on the floor of this room, trying to destroy the evidence, but made that dent in the floor, into which fell the piece of glass I just found, which may be part of the ashtray I found earlier. Then the murderer took the body to the car, cleaned the scene, and took the body to Haido Park to hide the body there, for it was probably nearer than some forest, but had to flee when an eye-witness came in. There were no signs of breaking in the lock of the door, so the perpetrator must be someone the director knew, and whom the director himself let into his study, unless the perpetrator then had the director's key to the study".
"There are no signs of a break-in anywhere, so the perpetrator must not have been anyone, an outside member of the company. The perpetrator is probably one of your company's employees", Megure said to the company's employees.
The company's employees looked nervous, and looked at each other quite suspiciously.
"Well, who all has the key to the manager's office?" Megure asked.
"Besides the director, only the deputy director had a key to the director's office", The secretary said. "The director and the deputy director had recently had some disagreements, because the deputy director, who has a background as a researcher, has recently developed some new diet candy, but the director said, as I recall, that the idea was ahead of its time. The deputy director got angry about that, because I heard them arguing about that matter soon after, when we were talking to the manager about the models's audition".
"What kind of diet candy is that?" Megure asked.
"About the Amber Trop. The vice president had worked a lot on it and was sure it would increase customer sales because it has no side effects on the body of the person who eats it, but the manager didn't really like it if someone came up with better plans or sales ideas than him", The secretary said. "The manager recently received threatening letters calling the manager arrogant".
Shizuka went behind the manager's desk, and saw someone stuck in a desk drawer a piece of cloth that was dark green with blood on it.
"How did that get stuck in there?" Shizuka then looked at the others:
"Keibu-san, I just found something in that dresser drawer".
"What?" Megure asked walking closer to the desk with the others, then saw a piece of cloth with blood stuck in the desk drawer. "You are right".
Megure tried to open the desk drawer but couldn't get it open:
"How can this desk drawer not open?"
"It's a specially made desk whose desk drawers can only be opened with the key that the vice president gave you. Besides the vice president, only the manager himself had the keys to that chest of drawers. It locks automatically if you close its desk drawers. The manager was afraid that some of the company's papers would be stolen, so he made a desk like that", The secretary said.
Megure saw the lock on the desk drawer, and opened it with the key, and then opened the desk drawer, and saw that inside there was a trash can with glass pieces with blood on them, and then took a piece of cloth, and the glass pieces out of the trash can:
"That piece of fabric looks like a piece torn off a raincoat. Where could those pieces of glass come from?"
"I guess they are part of the pieces of that ashtray I found earlier", Shizuka thought after realizing the situation.
"Doesn't the vice president have a raincoat that color?" One employee asked after seeing the piece of raincoat in question.
"Yes. He bought it recently", Secretary said. "And Katsu'uma-san has a similar raincoat too".
"I see. The vice president seems like the prime suspect now, but what could possibly be the vice president's motive? Wait a minute! According to the secretary, the manager didn't agree to include the vice president's invention, a new diet candy, on the list of products for sale. Did the manager change his mind, or something. I see. The manager pissed off the vice president somehow, and maybe the vice president killed the leader in a fit of rage with the ashtray he took from the leader's desk", Shizuka thought when she saw the cigarette pack on the vice president's desk, and the mark burned by the sun on the table, which looked just like an ashtray. "Then the deputy director's jacket tore while he was cleaning the crime scene, when that jacket got stuck in the table drawer of the desk, where the deputy director put the other side of the broken ashtray in the trash can, and then when closing the desk drawer, the jacket got stuck there. Then the deputy director hid the other side of the ashtray in the warehouse, and today he murdered Katsu'uma out of fear Katsu'ma finding the other side of the ashtray hidden in the back room, or the vice president for some reason tried to frame Katsu'uma-san as guilty of the director's murder."
"Heh! Maybe the perpetrator stalked the leader at first, followed the leader to the leader's office one day", Kogorō said.
"Sounds like the plot of some kiosk dekakri", Shizuka thought and shot a stun arrow into Kogorō's neck causing Kogorō to walk backwards before hitting a wall and then fell down the wall to the floor sitting on the floor, after which Shizuka walked in front of the bookshelf, pretending to look at the people on it books speaking in Kogorō's voice:
"I suggested the recent issue only in a comparative sense. I know who the perpetrator is, Keibu-dono. The perpetrator is Ishikawa, the vice president of the candy house".
"What gives you reason to suspect him?" Megure asked.
"Well, during the crime that just happened, Irene found something at the crime scene. It's part of the murder weapon used in the leader's murder. Show it to them, Irene. At the same time, show them the other part of the weapon that you found when we just entered this room", Shizuka said.
"Yes, Mōri-san", Shizuka said walking in front of Megure and handing her the parts of the murder weapon wrapped in tissues. "That piece of ashtray was behind the trash can in the back room, and the smaller part was in this room, in that dent in the floor."
"In that dent. How did it get there?" Megure asked seeing the dent in the floor.
Shizuka walked back to the bookshelf, and used Kogorō's voice again:
"This seems to be the crime scene where the manager was murdered. Maybe the crime went like this. The murderer came into this room with the manager, and they had a possible argument. Then the murderer took either the manager from the table, or the ashtray he brought with him, and beat the manager to death. I made this up when I saw it the cigarette pack on the vice president's desk, and the sun burned mark on the table that looked like an ashtray. Then the murderer wrapped the carpet on the floor of the room around the victim, broke the ashtray by throwing it on the floor of this room, trying to destroy the evidence, but made a dent in the floor where the small glass fell a piece that might be part of it, the ashtray found earlier by my assistant. Then the murderer took the body to the car, cleaned the scene, and took the body to Haido Park to hide the body there, because it was probably closer, like some forest, but had to flee when the eyewitness came. This room the door there were no signs of tampering in the lock, so the perpetrator must be someone the manager knew, and whom the manager himself let into his study, unless the perpetrator then had a key to the manager's study. When I thought about what the Karkkitalo employees were talking about the vice president, it made me doubt the vice president. I just thought like this:
"I see. The vice president seems like the prime suspect now, but what could possibly be the vice president's motive? Wait a minute! According to the secretary, the manager didn't agree to include the vice president's invention, a new diet candy, on the list of products for sale. Did the manager change his mind, or something. I see. The manager pissed off the vice president somehow, and maybe the vice president killed the manager in a rage with an ashtray he took from the manager's desk. Then the vice president's jacket tore while he was cleaning up the crime scene, when that jacket got stuck in the desk drawer of the desk, in the trash bin where the vice manager put one side of the broken ashtray, and then when closing the desk drawer with the jacket stuck there. Then the vice manager hid the other side of the ashtray half to the warehouse, and murdered Katsu'uma today, fearing that Katsu'ma would find the other side of the ashtray hidden in the back room, or the vice president for some reason tried to frame Katsu'uma-san as guilty of murdering the manager". Do you have the work gloves you found at the first crime scene with you?"
"It is", One officer showed the gloves to the others, and they were now in a plastic bag. "I looked inside them earlier, and one of those gloves, they have blood on the inside of the glove, on the right index finger".
"I see. When the vice president broke the ashtray, he probably got a cut on his right index finger with it, and as a result he probably has a patch on his right index finger now, because I saw a patch on it before. His fingerprints are probably on the destroyed ashtray, so they would definitely be proof", Shizuka said.
"It's worth investigating. Let's go find the vice president", Megure said from the room with the others.
They went into the ballroom, and then into the room where the auditioning model candidates were dressed in bikinis with shift numbers attached.
"I see you decided to come, Hinano?" Aki asked after seeing Hinano sitting on the chair by the make-up table, wearing a white dressing gown.
Surprisingly, Shizuka saw Kogorō wake up and come to the scene.
"Aki?" Hinano asked.
"I'm sorry, but Yusei is said to like me more", Aki said.
"Yusei? I'm not even interested in what kind of blayboy?" Hinano said standing up.
"What?!" Aki asked.
"Bikini round begins. Number 1 begins", The vice president announced over the loudspeaker, speaking into the microphone on the catwalk.
"So me", Hinano said, unzipping her dressing gown and letting it fall to the floor. "Look at my body, Aki!"
Everyone could see that Hinano had lost so much weight that her ribs were showing.
"What?!" Aki asked in disbelief.
"Right! I'm losing a lot more weight than you", Hinano smiled arrogantly, and walked to the catwalk behind the curtain, looking really weak, and walked with wobbly steps. He looked like he was about to pass out:
"I'm Okoshi Hinano...I'm good at losing weight...and...I".
"Is that girl all right?" Shizuka asked looking through the gap in the curtain to the catwalk.
"Well it's not really", Kogorō said looking at Hinano. "And what is that sweet smell?"
"Yes. There's a sweet smell in the air!" Shizuka thought after smelling that scent.
Bzzz! Bzzzz! A sound resembling the buzzing of a wasp was suddenly heard in the room.
"Are there any wasps here?" Shizuka thought as she heard the rustling.
Suddenly, transparent yellow glowing wasps emerged from Hinano's body as Hinano fell to the pavement.
"Wasps?!" Ran cried out in disbelief.
Suddenly, a yellow yokai appeared above Vice President Ishikawa, and the wasps moved into it, while the other auditioned girls also fell to the floor of the dressing room, and wasps flew out of their bodies, which moved into the yokai's body.
"Is Hinano okay?" Shizuka asked, causing the police and the others to start checking on the girls.
Shizuka quickly looked at the bag that had just fallen onto the make-up table used by Hinano when the police ran to check on the girls, and saw a candy falling out of it:
